Kili couldn’t help but quicken his pace a little when Bag-End came into view. He smiled until his face hurt, it’d been almost two years since he’d seen their burglar last, just after the battle, and he didn’t want to waste another moment.

His smile fell, though, just a touch, when he saw the state of the gardens. The first time he’d visited, they’d been pristine, maintained and cared for as if belonging to royalty. Now, though, the garden was overgrown, weeds taking over half of it, dead plants everywhere. He worried for Bilbo, knowing the hobbit’s propensity for propriety, and he knocked on the door, heart racing at the thought of something bad happening to his friend.

“Just a minute!” Came the burglar’s voice from inside, and Kili relaxed infinitesimally. When the door flew open, his eyes widened. “Bilbo!”

The burglar was a mess. His hair was longer than Kili had ever seen, the bags under his eyes had grown bags of their own, and there were multiple suspicious stains on his little vest. Bilbo still smiled, though, pulling himself a bit more upright. “Kili! It’s so wonderful to see you, please do come in.” He stepped aside, gesturing for Kili to hang his cloak. “I’m not sure what I’ve got in, but I’m sure I can throw together some kind of tea.”

“Don’t trouble yourself for me, I wouldn’t want to be a bother.” As he looked surreptitiously around the hobbit hole, he found it to be in just as much a state of disarray as the outside. Laundry, dishes, and even trash were scattered, and Kili was greatly concerned.

“Nonsense, what kind of host would I be if I weren’t to feed you?” Bilbo led him to the kitchen and began puttering around, scrounging up some snacks and a pot of piping hot tea in a matter of minutes.

Kili’s heart sank at the nearly empty pantry. Bilbo was endlessly proud of his pantry, and to see it so bare was the final indicator to Kili that something was seriously wrong with the hobbit. When Bilbo finally sat down, Kili reached out, taking his hand gently. “Are you alright, Master Boggins?”

The old tease made Bilbo’s mouth quirk up into a slight smile, Kili considered it a win. “Oh I’m just fine, Kili, thank you for your concern. It is

wonderful

to see you, though, and to see you so healthy, too. For a while there, we thought none of you would make it.” Bilbo looked away quickly as soon as he even vaguely mentioned the other two dwarves. “How is everyone else?”

Despite outward appearances, Kili was no fool. Bilbo wanted to know something, he just didn’t want to ask directly. So Kili began describing what each member of the company had taken up with in great detail, watching Bilbo’s face carefully. “And Fili’s taken on the role of Crown Prince like a duck to water, you wouldn’t believe how prim and proper he’s become, it’s

so

boring. My mum’s handling all the official Queenly duties for Thorin, of course, since he hasn’t married.” There, Bilbo had flinched when he’d mentioned Thorin. “Bilbo, what--?”

His inquiry was cut short by a loud, startling cry from further into the house. Bilbo stood and rushed back, and the squalling stopped after a moment. When Bilbo returned, Kili’s heart nearly stopped. The hobbit was carrying the tiniest babe the dwarf had ever seen. Bright blue eyes peeked out from behind a mess of curly black hair, and Kili’s heart melted in an instant. Bilbo adjusted his grip on the child, held his head high, and said, “This is my daughter, Belladonna.”

Kili nodded, still enchanted by the sight of the tiny girl. Dwarven children were exceedingly rare, he and Fili’s births being so close together was quite the shock, and they had been the last children born to their community up until Gloin's son, Gimli. He’d never seen a baby before, not properly, and his hands ached to reach out to her, children were beyond precious to any and every dwarf. “She’s gorgeous. Is her mother around?”

Bilbo furrowed his brow. “What do you mean?”

“Her mother, her bearer. Or did you adopt her?” Kili chanced to reach out, touching her tiny hand, heart stopping in his chest when she grabbed on and squeezed firmly, squealing in her little baby voice.

“Kili,

I

bore her.”

That stopped the dwarf in his tracks. “You did what?”

Bilbo huffed and sat at the table, keeping little Bella in his lap. “I suppose it makes sense nobody else knows, we

do

try not to advertise it. All hobbits can both bear and sire, male or female, it doesn’t matter. It’s said to be a gift from the green goddess, and it’s why hobbit family trees get so big and complex. In male hobbits, we only quicken to conceive under a full moon, and I don’t know how it works for female hobbits, honestly, I’ve always been too afraid to ask.”

Kili would’ve laughed at the hobbit’s blush, but he was busy putting together the pieces of the puzzle in front of him. “Bilbo… is she Thorin’s?” The whole company had known the two were seeing one another, but they’d assumed it wasn’t serious or had soured when the hobbit fled Erebor as soon as Thorin had woken from his healing sleep and banished the hobbit from the mountain. He’d also forbade anyone from visiting, corresponding with, or even mentioning the burglar, but Kili had always been a bit of a rule breaker.

Bilbo immediately paled, clutching the babe closer to him. “Please don’t tell him, Kili, I won’t survive it if he takes her from me, she’s all I have.” Tears sprung up in his eyes as he shook, terror coursing through his frame. The little girl looked up at her father and her own lip began to warble, and she sniffled softly, about to join his weeping.

Kili shook his head frantically, holding his hands out, free of intent. “No, gods no, Bilbo, I would never! I swear on my

life

, I’d never let anyone take your babe from you.”

Bilbo relaxed slightly as he realized there was no lie in Kili’s eyes. “I… thank you, Kili.” Bilbo sniffled, wiping his eyes and his daughter’s. “Would you like to hold her while I prepare a meal?”

“Yes please.” Kili could no longer withhold his hands, reaching out for the child. Bilbo handed her over readily, and Kili could hardly believe the size of her. “She’s so small…”

“Big for a fauntling, probably small for a dwarfling.” Bilbo smiled, pulling a small pail from a cupboard by the back door. “I’ll be back in a tick, behave, Bella.”

The little girl had thoroughly occupied herself with tugging on Kili’s braids, grinning widely to display the teeth that were coming in. Kili just smiled, heart warm and full as the little one tried her very best to scalp him. When Bilbo returned with a pail full of milk, Kili watched him make up a bowl of mash with it, then shook his head when Bilbo held his hands out for the child. “I can do it, you just sit, rest, you look dead on your feet.”

Bilbo huffed and barely put up any protest, just handing Kili the world’s tiniest spoon and collapsing into a chair. “I

am

, I swear it. I caused quite a fuss coming back here, pregnant and unwed. I was already the odd one out before, but

now?

I’m a pariah, hardly any of my family even came to her nameday celebration. I’ve got some cousins who visit once in a while, but they’ve a fauntling of their own, little Frodo, he’s a lamb, and they’re already so busy with him that I hate to ask anything of them. The Gamgees next door are usually kind enough to include me in their market run when they can, but it won’t do for them to be seen helping me.” He sighed, having chattered all of that out in one long breath, and sunk further into the chair. “I’m sorry, this isn’t your concern, I shouldn’t complain so much.”

Kili frowned, an idea forming in his mind. “Bilbo, I hate to impose any more, but do you have a guestroom I could stay in until I’m due to leave?”

Ever well-mannered, Bilbo nodded. “Of course, there’s plenty of space, I’ll show you to it once she’s finished.”

Kili scooped another bite of the gruel up, making silly noises to convince Bella to open her mouth and eat it. He bounced her on his knee ever so gently, making her laugh and happily accept another bite. “I’m so glad, I’d hate to waste even a moment of my time here.” He looked up, softening at Bilbo’s tired gaze. “We’ve really missed you, y’know. None of us agreed with my uncle’s banishment, but to oppose him would’ve sown dissent throughout the mountain.”

“I understand, Kili, but I’m so glad you’re here now.” Bilbo didn’t say it, but the dwarf could tell he'd been lonely. Once Bella had finished her meal, Kili passed her back to her father, gathering the dishes and heading to the sink. As soon as Bilbo began to protest, he shut it down, explaining, “You cooked, I can clean. It’s no trouble.”

Bilbo huffed. “You’re a

guest,

Kili, a

prince

.”

And that was just the thing, wasn’t it? He was a prince, sure, but he wasn’t the

heir.

He couldn’t even grow a proper beard, he’d never managed to cultivate it further than the disappointing stubble that currently graced his cheeks. He preferred a bow, not an axe, and he’d fallen in love with an elvish woman for whom he was a flight of fancy, an act of rebellion. He, like Bilbo, was the odd one out, the ugly duckling, and he’d been yearning to break free from his gilded cage ever since he was first set into it. He looked around the small, messy house, and unlike the lonely stone walls of Erebor, it was a

home.

He just shrugged, shoving up his sleeves and washing the dishes carefully. “Not here I’m not. Here I’m your friend, Kili, and I’m going to wash these dishes whether you like it or not.”

Bilbo gave him a small smile, worn down. “Someone save me from dwarves and their stubbornness.”

“Never, you can’t be rid of us that easily, my friend.” Kili washed every dish he could reach, ignoring Bilbo’s continued protests until every dish in the house was washed, dried, and tucked neatly away. It helped that he was a full head taller than the hobbit, and could simply hold things up out of his reach when Bilbo would attempt to snatch anything.

He waited until Bilbo went to sleep to start on the laundry.

~~~
After two weeks, Kili still didn’t want to leave. He kissed the top of Bella’s head where she was playing in the middle of the sitting room. “I’m heading into town for a bit, did you need anything while I’m out?”
Bilbo groaned and ran a hand through his messy curls. “I need a million things from the market, I’ll go another day, don’t trouble yourself.”
Kili frowned. “Are you sure? We could go together, if you like, I could carry Bella.”
“You don’t have to--”
Kili picked up the complicated pile of fabric that Bilbo
insisted
was a baby sling, throwing a few loops over his head and hoping for the best. “This is wizardry!”
Bilbo sighed and came over, fixing the carrier and setting Bella inside. “It’s just a baby wrap, you ridiculous dwarf.”
Kili smiled and pressed his face into Bella’s hair, happily inhaling her sweet scent. “Go and get dressed, we’ll be waiting for you outside.” He carried the babe outside, showing her the tree in the front yard and encouraging her to touch the bark. “I dunno what kind of tree this is, your pa would, though.”
“Adadadadadad,” Bella agreed, making Kili’s heart lurch traitorously in his chest. The little one probably didn’t even know the dwarven word for ‘father’, much less was she using it towards him. He kissed her curls again though, waving politely at a few hobbits walking by.
Bilbo came out, smiling brightly at the pair of them. “Are you telling her made up plant facts again?”
“
No
, I’m just letting her touch the tree, and reminding her of how much better stone and metal are.” Kili winked at the hobbit, enjoying the way he blushed.
“Dwarves,” Bilbo muttered, rolling his eyes and opening the gate. He had several empty fabric bags on his arm, looking forward to being able to properly shop for the first time since Bella was born.
Kili followed along happily as Bilbo went from shop to shop, stopping at every stall, and carrying bags on his arms as the hobbit filled them. He stopped to check on his pony on the way, and by the time they were done, everyone’s arms were full. Even little Bella had a jar of jam tucked into the sling with her. “Anything else?”
Bilbo sighed. “Well I’d really like a wheel of cheese, but I don’t think we can carry it home.”
“Well tell the cheesemonger which one you want and I’ll come back for it after we drop all of this off.” He lifted his arms a bit, trying to flex, but was greatly weighed down by the bags on his arms. “Ow.”
Bilbo laughed, a warm, pealing thing that Kili was desperate to hear more of. “You’re ridiculous, you don’t have to do all that.”
“I want to. Go on, tell the cheese man what you want, I’ll be back for it in a bit.” He watched Bilbo negotiate and exchange money, happy he'd slipped some of the coin he'd brought into the hobbit’s coffer. He’d have to find some work soon, though, he didn’t want to be a strain on his friend's household. They walked home together, and Kili carried all of their groceries inside, setting the baby in her highchair and heading back to market. He returned to the cheesemonger, smiling brightly. “Hullo, pickup for Baggins?”
“Yes, these two wheels here, and this bag.” The shopkeep, a Sackville, he thought, helped him grab the cheese. “You make a handsome family, you three. You bein’ a dwarf ain’t entirely regular, but it’s good you came back to do right by him. He’s an odd one, our Bilbo, but he’s a good one. I look forward to the wedding.”
Kili froze a little, eyes widening. “The wedding?”
“Well of course.” The shopkeep narrowed his eyes at Kili. “You
do
intend to make an honest man out of him, do you not?”
Kili nodded, not wanting to get on the bad side of any of the hobbits in town, and also panicking a little, blurting out, “Yes, of course, we’re just waiting until I have my affairs in order so I can properly settle here, relocating is such messy business.”
That seemed to pacify the man. “Right, good, very considerate of you.” He added another piece of cheese into the bag and handed it over, sending Kili on his way.
Kili walked home in a daze.
Marry
Bilbo? It wasn’t something that had crossed his mind before, but thinking on it now… It would solve all of their problems. And to claim Bella as his own, well, she was his spitting image. There was no reason it couldn’t work.
Now he just had to figure out how to propose the idea to Bilbo. And, well,
propose.
~~~

It was another two weeks before he got the courage together. It was late at night, and they were sitting out in the back garden, the window cracked open so they could hear if Bella cried. Bilbo was smoking his pipe, and Kili was sharpening his woodaxe, and the moment was so domestic it made Kili’s chest ache.

Kili set his axe down and turned to the hobbit. “Bilbo?”

“Mhm?” Bilbo pulled his pipe from his mouth, exhaling slowly. “What is it, Kili?”

“We should get married.”

Bilbo’s eyes widened. “You… what?”

“Think about it. Everyone already assumes that the baby is mine, and if we got married, you’d no longer be treated like an outcast for being an unwed parent.” Kili took Bilbo’s hand, squeezing gently.

“But, what about when you leave?” Bilbo’s voice went soft and sad in a way that Kili never wanted to hear again.

Kili just shook his head. “I don’t want to leave, not ever. I’m going to ride to Rivendell and ask a favor of Lord Elrond, have him send letters to Erebor that won’t be traced back to the Shire. I’ll stay here, and I’ll marry you, and I’ll be Bella’s adad, and I’ll set up a smithy in town to make us money and fill my time, and that’ll be that.”

“You’ve thought about this,” Bilbo murmured softly.

“I have.”

The hobbit seemed to think for a moment, then looked back up at Kili. “And this marriage… Would it be in name only?”

Kili lightly thumbed the back of Bilbo’s hand, tucking his hair back tenderly. “I know I’m not the one you love, so if that’s what you want, that’s what we’ll do. But you’re not unattractive, Bilbo, and you’re my friend, my

best

friend. Marriages have been built on less, and if you’re amenable, I’d like a proper marriage.”

Bilbo bit his lip softly. “I-- can I think about it?”

“Of course.” Kili stood, returning his axe to the small woodshed. “Goodnight, burglar.”

Bilbo smiled at him gently. “Goodnight, dwarf.”

Kili climbed into bed, leaving his door open to listen for Bella, sighing heavily and falling asleep. He was woken up about an hour later by a small figure worming into the bed with him under the covers. He grunted, confused, pulling Bilbo closer. “Y’alright?”

The hobbit sniffled softly, pressing his face into Kili’s chest. “You meant it, right? You won’t leave us?”

“Never, not even if you try and send me away.” Kili kissed the golden curls before him, rubbing Bilbo’s back warmly. “Whether or not you marry me.”

Bilbo just pressed closer. “And… if we were to marry, and it were to be a proper marriage.”

“Mhm?” Kili ran gentle fingers up and down Bilbo’s spine through his thin nightshirt.

“Would you want-- would you want more kids?”

A very private part of Kili’s anatomy throbbed at the very idea of Bilbo, round and sweet with his baby, coming apart at his touch,

writhing

under him. “Yes. Yes, I very much would, if you were amenable.”

Bilbo just hummed softly, tugging the covers up further and settling in. “Okay. Yes, I’ll marry you.”

Kili beamed, squeezing Bilbo tightly, heart soaring. “And might I share a kiss with my intended?”

“

One

kiss, no funny business.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Kili tilted Bilbo’s chin up, kissing him tenderly. Bilbo returned it, melting into his touch, just as soft and sweet as Kili had imagined, it felt light lightning running through every inch of his body. He pulled back reluctantly, pressing a chaste kiss to Bilbo’s cheek. “See? Perfectly behaved.”

Bilbo smiled softly, tucking himself back against Kili’s chest. “We’ll need a consistent story to tell everyone.”

“You’re the storyteller, I’ll agree with whatever you say. Though, maybe we should leave out that I’m, y’know Prince Kili, son of Vili, backup heir to the throne.” Kili felt a long-held weight leave him as he shed the title, shed the responsibility, discarded it all, until he was just Kili, betrothed to Bilbo, father of Belladonna. It felt

good.

Bilbo hummed thoughtfully, then nodded. “We met on the journey, grew closer, fell in love, then after the battle you sent me ahead home to get the place ready. You were delayed, because your brother was injured in the battle, and you stayed to make sure he recovered. Now you’ve come to marry me properly, and we’re going to Rivendell to fetch the rest of your things.”

“

We’re

going to Rivendell? What about Bella?”

“She’ll come too. You’ll have better luck with the elves if I come along, and I don’t trust anyone but you with Bella for more than a day.” Bilbo slid his cold hands up under Kili’s shirt, making the dwarf shiver. “You’ll protect us.”

“I’ll protect you with my life.” Kili meant it with every fiber of his being. “It’ll be about a fortnight round trip on my pony.”

Bilbo nodded, sighing warmly. “We can leave morning after tomorrow, I’ve just got to announce our official engagement and have someone mind the house.”

“What does a hobbit engagement entail?”

“We announce it, and my closest relatives will come and help me to plan our wedding. I’m going to talk to Primula, she’s my favorite, I'll have her start the arrangements so we can wed on the next full moon.” He paused, yawning widely. “I’ll explain the rest tomorrow.”

“Go to sleep, my hobbit.” Kili held Bilbo as he drifted to sleep, feeling happier than he could remember in a very long time.

~~~
The little family showed up to Lord Elrond’s door, where they were warmly greeted. Bilbo had a courting braid in his hair that matched his intended's, complete with a bead at the bottom that Kili had carved himself from a branch of the tree in their front yard, Kili had Bilbo’s handkerchief tucked safely into his pocket, and little Belladonna had plenty of braids and flowers in her hair, sleeping happily on her adad’s chest.
Elrond welcomed them into a small dining room, unable to resist smiling at the baby. Infants were even rarer for elves than dwarves, and every elf they passed brightened when they saw her. They sat and ate, politely conversing, until Lord Elrond folded his hands and asked, “So what really brings you here to Rivendell?”
Bilbo smiled softly at his betrothed, then looked back at the elf. “Kili wishes to send correspondence to Erebor that can’t be traced.”
“He doesn’t want it known he’s living in the Shire?” Elrond raised a single brow.
Kili shook his head. “No. If they know where I am, they’ll drag me back, or worse, show up themselves.”
Elrond looked them over, then sighed. “Alright, fine. I’ll do it, on one condition.” He held his hands out. “I want to hold the baby, it’s been decades since we've had one in these parts.”
Bilbo handed her over, sliding her bowl of mash over to him. “I appreciate your help, Lord Elrond. We just want to live in peace.”
The elf nodded, enchanted by the little girl, as with nearly everyone she’d ever met. “I understand, and I’m happy to help.”
There are many misconceptions about dwarrows and how they love. The known is that dwarves have their Ones, the soul made for their soul, and this much is true.
What's less known is that dwarves can love outside of their Ones, and Ones don't always have a fair or happy ending. Kili has always had a big heart; to a fault, his amad would say. On six separate occasions he'd thought he'd found his One, and each time, his heart was dashed on the rocks. With Tauriel, he'd truly thought it was her, had been willing to give up anything to be with her.
But Bilbo blew all of those previous loves out of the water. Once Kili allowed his heart to enter the equation, it was like a fire burned inside of him for the hobbit. Every time Bilbo smiled, Kili smiled, and the idea that he was to share a life with Bilbo? Joy beyond measure. He thought Bilbo was in fact his One, but he’d always been strange for a dwarf. Maybe they were Ones, maybe he just had more capacity to love, either way he looked forward to sharing their life together immensely.
He knew it wouldn't be easy. He was leaving behind everyone, his friends, Fili, his amad, and Thorin. Kili knew Thorin thought Bilbo to be his One, and the hobbit very well could be - such things were not impossible. Bilbo had chosen Kili, though, and Kili would make certain that his hobbit would never live to regret that choice.
Bag-End was tidy as ever when they returned. The garden had been weeded and put back to order, and Primula and Frodo were in the front yard, playing in the grass. Kili climbed off the pony first, helping Bilbo and Bella off as well before taking the animal to the stables.
Bilbo came and sat Bella with her cousin, unswaddling her to let them play. “Thank you for watching the place, Prim, you didn’t have to do the garden.”
“Oh it’s no trouble at all, it gave me something to do. We’ve just been enjoying the shade over here, ever since Lobelia made Otho chop down my oak tree we’ve had no comfy spots in the yard.” She smiled at him warmly. “I took the liberty of hanging a wreath on your door, made from all of the flowers everyone’s sent to congratulate you on your engagement.”
“You’re an angel.” Bilbo pulled a rattle from his bag. “Courtesy of the elves, they sent an army of toys with us, I thought Frodo may like a few.”
The fauntling gasped and grabbed it, shaking it excitedly. Bella shook hers in turn, and both babes laughed in delight. Kili came and knelt next to Bilbo, kissing his temple. “Hello,
kurdulu
.” A thrill rushed through him as he used the endearment.
Bilbo smiled at him sweetly, leaning against him. “Hello, love.”
“I’m going to go unpack, do you want me to run you a bath?” Kili was trying not to imagine his beloved in the bath, but it was difficult. In the time they’d been away from home, they’d slept fully clothed, but pressed together, never going any further than the gentlest of kisses even in Elrond’s palace. Kili assumed it was because Bilbo wanted to wait until they wed, if he still wanted that at all.
“Yes please, I feel filthy.” He turned back to his cousin. “Could you watch Bella for a couple of hours while we clean up and settle in?”
She grinned widely, nodding her understanding. “Happy to.”
Bilbo kissed his daughter, then took Kili’s hand and led him into the house. Kili went to the bathroom immediately, pumping water from the small indoor well and starting the fire underneath the tub, humming softly. “You can go ahead and bathe first, I can wait.”
“You’re quite the gentleman.” Bilbo kissed his cheek, stripping shamelessly while Kili tended the fire.
“Don’t go telling anyone, I’ve a reputation to uphold.” As difficult as it was, Kili kept his eyes from wandering, picking up the dirty clothes and gathering them into a hamper before heading to the kitchen to see what they had left for supper.
Bilbo came out wrapped in a dressing gown, leaning against the counter. “I drained and refilled it for you, should be warm soon.”
“Oh you didn’t have to do that, thank you.” Kili bussed a chaste kiss across Bilbo’s cheek. “Why don’t I go fetch Bella, I can bathe her too--”
“Kili.” Bilbo was blushing all the way up to the tips of his ears. “Go wash yourself, then come to my room. Don’t get Bella.”
“Okay…?” Kili went to the bathroom, stripping down and scrubbing himself head to toe, careful with his courting braid. He dried off and wrapped a towel around his waist, still puzzling at Bilbo’s meaning when he reached the door. “Is everything alright?”
Bilbo was sitting in the middle of his bed, blankets pulled up to his chin, blushing fiercely as his gaze raked over Kili’s chest. “I’m naked.”
“Alright? Do you want me to fetch you something to wear?” He went to the hobbit’s wardrobe, pulling out a lovely blue vest.
Bilbo groaned and dropped his head into his hands. “
Kili.
I’m
naked
, and we’ve got a babysitter for another several hours. Would you please quit being so thick and come over here?”
Kili’s eyes went wide and he dropped the vest, darting over to the bed embarrassingly quickly. “You mean you want to--?”
“Mhm.” Bilbo let the sheets drop a bit, exposing his smooth, freckled torso. “Prim’s been handling things while I was gone, we’re to be married in a week, there’s no sense in not capitalizing on a bit of alone time.”
Kili slid his fingers into Bilbo’s hair, kissing him sweetly. “Are you sure,
kurdulu?
I don’t want you to feel any pressure, we can wait as long as you need.”
Bilbo tugged at the towel around Kili’s waist. “I’m sure. I want you, Kee.”
Kili pounced, pinning Bilbo playfully and kissing him breathless. “
Hulwulkasab
, I’m going to make you scream for me.”
Bilbo shivered, legs automatically splaying out to make room for the dwarf. “S-scream?”
“Mhm, I intend to take my time, dear one, make you weep with pleasure." Kili kissed his way down Bilbo's jaw to his throat, placing the gentlest bite over his pulse. "You're so beautiful,
kurdulu.
" He ran his hands across the soft, plush planes of the hobbit's skin, mouth straying to the pretty pink nipples that were simply demanding his attention. By the sharp, sweet noise Bilbo made, it seemed he enjoyed it greatly.
Bilbo had one hand fisted in Kili's hair, the other gripping the headboard as he whimpered. "Oh god, oh that-- that feels good, don't stop."
Satisfied with the dainty bruise he'd left on Bilbo's breast, Kili continued his southern journey, dragging his lips ever so gently up his hobbit's lovely little cock, making Bilbo cry out wantonly. "Has anyone ever had their mouth here, my heart?" Kili couldn't help a wicked grin when Bilbo shook his head. "Good, that's all mine, then." He ducked down, taking the entire length into his mouth and sucking furiously. The hobbit’s cock was perfectly sized to fit in his mouth, like they were made for one another. He worked his tongue over the head as his hands cradled his lover's ass,  one thumb reaching to brush against his hole. Kili groaned when he felt slickness, pulling off and gazing up at his lover darkly. “Did you prepare yourself for me?”
Bilbo nodded shyly, trying and failing not to squirm. “I-- I was hoping you’d still be--
oh!
Still be interested,” he panted, tugging so sweetly at Kili’s long hair, open and offering all of himself to the dwarf.
“
Very
interested, my darling.” Kili pressed two fingers in carefully, eyes nearly crossing at the sweet heat wrapped around his fingers. “Gods help me, you’ll be the death of me, Bilbo.”
Bilbo whined and squirmed, pressing back into the thick, calloused fingers spreading him open. “Please, I’m ready, I swear,
please
fuck me.”
Kili grinned, withdrawing his fingers and slicking his cock from the tin of oil Bilbo left out on the nightstand. “I love it when you talk dirty, you should swear more often.” He settled between his beloved’s legs, blanketing himself over the smaller one and lining himself up. “You’ll tell me if I go too fast, yeah?”
“You can’t go too fast if you never start, love.” Bilbo wrapped his legs around Kili, locking his ankles and pulling him closer.
 Eyes trained on his lover’s face, Kili pressed his hips forward. He was torn between the pleasure of the tight, hot squeeze around his cock, and the sheer beauty of Bilbo’s face as he was filled. Bilbo’s mouth fell open in a breathless gasp, and Kili couldn’t help but press a sweet kiss to the corner of his mouth as he bottomed out, pressing them as close together as they could ever be. “Gorgeous, perfect, kurdulu, so good for me.”
Bilbo whined sweetly, wrapping his arms around Kili’s shoulders and kissing him clumsily. “I-- hell, I don’t think I’ll last terribly long, my love.”
“Neither will I, don’t hold back on my account.” Kili rolled his hips back slowly, plunging forward with a groan. He rocked his hips, slow and steady, grinding Bilbo’s little cock between them. He didn’t need to last long, just longer than his lover, so he angled himself towards Bilbo’s prostate and sucked lovely bruises into his pale throat.
Bilbo came with a delicious gasp, tensing up and shuddering through his orgasm. The heat of his release between them set Kili off, and he ground in deep as he came, panting softly as he filled his beloved with his cum. He collapsed, barely keeping his arms under him to keep from crushing Bilbo entirely. “Gods above…”
Kili chuckled softly, pulling out and snuggling up to his betrothed. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Bilbo replied, softly, easily, without a moment’s hesitation, as if there were no other possibility. Kili melted into his love’s side, happier than he could remember being in a very long time.
A hobbit wedding was very different to a dwarven one, Kili observed. The party started in the morning with a massive breakfast feast, and then a massive gathering in the town square with singing, dancing, and booze. He and Bilbo exchanged the traditional hobbitish vows and dwarven braids under a floral arch when the sun was at its apex, and the party continued late into the evening.
After a quick check that Prim and Bungo had Bella under control, Kili snuck up behind his new husband and swept him off of his feet. Bilbo squealed with delighted laughter, arms flying around Kili's shoulders. His hair was longer than ever, full of braids, beads, and flowers, and he was
beautiful.
"Hello, my treasure."
"Hello sweetheart." Bilbo leaned up, rubbing their noses together sweetly, the golden marriage band on his hand flashing in the festival lights. "I see the moon is quite high up in the sky."
"Indeed it is, and a certain beautiful hobbit told me that it was tradition to make love under the first full moon of their marriage, that it spelled good luck and good fortune." Kili was only a dwarf, he couldn't help the hot rush of blood through his body at the thought of his lovely groom, spread and pliant for him in the moonlight.
"Mmm, a very wise hobbit must've talked to you indeed, my love. Better whisk me away, then, wouldn't want to risk losing any luck." Bilbo chirped little goodbyes and well wishes as Kili walked home, and they both blushed as the rowdier hobbits gave more explicit congratulations and encouragement.
Bilbo kissed Kili eagerly once the door was closed behind them, pressing even closer. "To our bedroom, if you please."
Kili laughed, kicking off his boots by the door and carrying his heart to the master bedroom. "I'll carry you anywhere you desire, only I request my payment in kisses, no other currency."
After opening the window to let in the moonlight, Bilbo smiled and cupped Kili's face warmly, leaning in to plant one on him with a great smacking noise. "Luckily, in that, I am endlessly wealthy."
"No one is as wealthy as I, for I have you, and our daughter, and any other children you choose to bless me with." Kili's heart was racing, his cock hot and heavy with blood at the knowledge that this time, his seed may take root, life may bloom and grow in his husband's stomach, a true blessing he'd never dreamt of.
Bilbo's deft fingers traveled the length of his waistcoat, popping open the buttons with practiced ease. "Well come on then, come and put one into me."
The celebration continued the next morning, and when Bilbo was led away by a group of relatives, he took over feeding Bella, making faces at her until she was breathless from laughter, cheeks pink and healthy.
A cheer went up from the small group and Kili turned to see Bilbo at the center, beaming. His hobbit came over quickly, holding up a wilted flower in a small bowl of what smelled like urine. "
Kurdulu?
"
"The flower is wilted, Kee!" When no recognition came across the dwarf's face, Bilbo huffed, setting the bowl aside and wiping his hands clean. "That means it caught, I'm pregnant."
Kili practically dove from his chair, dragging Bilbo into his arms, kissing him over and over, happy tears in his eyes. "My love, my life, my heart, my One, you've performed a miracle, you wonderful thing." He distantly heard Prim announcing the good news, and the raucous cheers of the other hobbits, but nothing mattered outside of the smaller man in his arms.
Kili couldn't keep his hands off of the small swell of his husband's stomach. They were curled up in bed, when Kili thought to ask, "How long is a hobbit's gestation, typically?"
"Well
typically
a fauntling would arrive in six months, so I'd already be at the halfway point, but being she was a dwobbit, I was pregnant with Bella for ten."
Kili nods, understanding. "Dwarrowdams carry nearly two full years, it makes sense our dwobbits would split the difference a bit, though they seem to favor you."
"A good thing, too, because hobbits are made for bearing, but I don't think I could bear a baby as big as a newborn dwarf." Bilbo rubbed his three month bump, smiling softly. "Bella took ten months to the day."
Kili nodded, doing a quick bit of math, then paused. "Bilbo, wasn't the full moon while we were in Erebor? When my uncle was at his worst with gold sickness?"
Bilbo looked a bit nauseous for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, I didn't realize it was the full moon already, I thought I had a few days." He sighed heavily, pressing his face further into Kili's hair. "Not that I ever told him I could, y'know…"
"Make the prettiest babies in all the world?" Kili teased softly.
Bilbo huffed a small laugh, though he clutched Kili just a bit tighter, and his voice was so quiet when he spoke next that Kili could hardly hear him. "Even if I'd known, I wouldn't have stopped him. I thought I could bring him back, make him remember, but…" He swallowed hard.
Ice ran through Kili's body, and he stiffened. "Bilbo, did he force you?" The words turned to ash on his tongue, and his stomach rolled.
"I didn't-- I didn't say no, I didn't tell him to stop." Bilbo shook his head, almost denying it to himself. "He-- I asked him to slow down, certainly, to be gentler, but I never said
stop.
"
"You shouldn't have had to. We should've protected you, all of us, we saw how sick he was!" Kili pushed up out of bed, for all the world ready to match to Erebor and challenge his uncle to a duel.
Bilbo dragged him back down, worming on top of him and resting his head over Kili's heart. "It's fine, I'm fine. I don't blame you, or him, and I healed quickly."
Kili held his husband, his most precious treasure, closer yet. "I should kill him."
"It wasn't his fault, he was sick, he didn't know what he was doing."
Kili turned them over, pressing his love into the soft bed and covering him protectively. "It wasn't yours either."
"Fine, if I agree with you, can we go to bed? Your baby is kicking the life out of me."
"Mmm, I think I should examine your injuries, make sure everything's healed up right." He snuck a hand up under Bilbo's nightshirt, squeezing his thigh.
Bilbo sighed, sounding very long-suffering, but Kili could see the smile on his face. "Very well, if you must."
Kili grinned and crawled downwards, pressing little kisses everywhere. "I'm a
professional
, I have to be thorough."
