Hyunjin sighed as he looked around the kitchen tiredly. There was nothing to eat and he was starving. He stared at the raisins in the cupboard. He knew he shouldn’t eat them, they made him sick and tired but he was

starving

.

Hyunjin

shouldn’t

, but he

loved

the texture of raisins between his teeth, always slightly chewy and sticky. That thought made him crave gummy sweets and he licked his lips, eyes brightening at the thought of them, pouting when he realised all he had was raisins.
Maybe if he just had a little he would be fine.
He hesitated though, knowing he would be lectured by the others on eating food he knew he couldn’t eat, especially if he

was

sick. But, Hyunjin thought he could hide it pretty well if he did feel sick as long as he didn’t

actually

throw up.

He stared at them a bit longer whilst rubbing his stomach before quickly grabbing them and tipping half the small box into his hand and then shoving them in his mouth. He ended up scarfing down the whole box, licking his lips at the slight sweetness and humming happily at the texture. He picked up another small box and ate them quickly too.

Yum

.

It killed his hunger to a bearable level and then he sighed and groaned at himself. He had no self control when he was hungry.

He knew he was about to have an intense sugar rush as they caused his blood pressure to spike, and he could only hope he wouldn’t throw up, and would be able to hide it from the others.

The next twenty minutes found Hyunjin racing around the house, chasing after a ball he kept pushing around and stealing random objects from the members and hiding them as he giggled to himself the whole time. The members eyed him wearily, wondering what had bought on his sudden rush of energy, especially considering he had been so tired and lethargic earlier that day.

“Maybe he had a nap?” Changbin said to Chan and Felix, the three of them watching as Hyunjin stole the phone case from Han’s phone and ran off with it. They heard keys jangling from the other room and they all got up quickly then to interfere. Hyunjin was an absolute

fiend

for stealing and hiding small things when he got too bored or was more energetic than usual. They didn’t mind until he started stealing keys and things they really needed.

“Keys, please.” Chan said, nodding when Hyunjin handed them over reluctantly but straight away. Hyunjin seemed randomly quiet all of a sudden, wandering out the room slowly as he yawned.

Hyunjin ran as fast as he could to the upstairs bathroom when he was out of sight, hoping his yawn had seemed real, throwing up messily and crying a little. His stomach had suddenly begun to ache badly, nausea and dizziness wracking his entire frame. He didn’t want to be told off so he tried to keep as quiet as possible, leaning his head against the wall as tiredness set in.

He went back downstairs and curled up on the sofa after brushing his teeth and chewing some gum, wanting to hug Felix as soon as he was done washing dishes. He sighed sadly, even as Han sat down next to him and began to stroke his ears gently. It felt nice but Hyunjin just wanted Felix. He was tired and wanted to fall asleep on the other boy.

Felix was just so

nice

, Hyunjin liked the smaller boy so much. He always smelt good and always let Hyunjin nestle against him, never seemed to get mad at him when Hyunjin licked him. And he always let Hyunjin bite his fingers, that was his absolute favourite.

He smiled despite feeling ill when Felix entered, making grabby hand motions towards the other boy. He let Felix sit down before sliding on top of him, shoving his face under Felix’s t-shirt and squirming upwards until his head poked out the top. He pushed his face into the space under Felix’s chin, giving a few quick soft licks to the skin before closing his eyes, feeling warm and safe.

Felix laughed a little at the feel of Hyunjin tunnelling into his shirt. He did it often and it was so cute Felix couldn’t even bring himself to be mad at the stretched out shirt. It wasn’t like he wore expensive ones around the house anyway. Most of the time Hyunjin ended up getting stuck, able to get only half his body through the shirt, especially with Felix’s body still in it. He would end up letting out distressed little squeaks as he squirmed frantically. Felix had started wearing t-shirts that were even bigger after Hyunjin had cried sadly into his chest after a failed attempt to get up his shirt one time.

He stroked at Hyunjin’s ears slowly, gently scratching his scalp with his nails and stroking his back. The others watched and exchanged glances as one of the most love sick expressions they’d ever seen settled onto Felix’s features.

Hyunjin lay tiredly on Felix’s chest, stomach still aching and feeling sick, licking at Felix’s neck as a thanks for the petting. He felt warm and relaxed but also he was not feeling good at all.

He tensed up, panicking as the need to throw up crept up on him and desperately wiggled his way out of Felix’s shirt, running to the bathroom and throwing up again. He didn’t have time to run to the one upstairs, meaning they all heard him, seeing they had followed him when he ran out of the room covering his mouth. He cried as he threw up and heard the members behind him exchanging worried comments.

He was going to get in

so

much trouble.

He whimpered slightly as Felix helped him sit up and brought a glass of water to his lips.

“Drink some water, Jinnie, you’ll feel better.”

“What did you eat?” I.N said a little sternly, eyeing him.

Hyunjin just whimpered and continued slowly drinking his water.

“Give him a sec,” Felix said, passing the now empty glass to Chan to fill back up, “he barely stopped throwing up a minute ago.”

He rubbed his hand soothingly along Hyunjin’s back, whispering words of comfort to the hybrid as he leaned against him, eyes closed.

Chan waited until they were all sat in the living room before mentioning it again, waiting for Hyunjin to bury himself under Felix’s shirt and get into the same position he had been in previously.

“Okay, Hyunjin, what did you eat?”

“Raisins.” He mumbled into Felix’s neck, face hot with embarrassment.

“How many?”

“Like, two of the small boxes.”

“He’ll probably need to throw up again then.” Lee Know said, concerned for the other boy and knowing how much he hated throwing up.

“I already threw up once,” Hyunjin mumbled, “that was the second time.”

“What?” Felix said in concern, shifting to try and see Hyunjin’s face.

“Why didn’t you tell us?” He asked carefully.

The others were making concerned sounds too, not liking the fact that Hyunjin hadn’t told them he had been sick already.

Felix felt the hybrid let out a little gasping breath, then felt his tears on his neck, eyes widening in concern.

“I- I didn’t want to get in trouble.” He said, voice strained with tears and face hidden from view.

“Oh, Jinnie, you’re not in trouble, you need to always tell us when you’re sick though, you know how concerning it is for us when you’re ill.”

“There was no other food.” Hyunjin cried quietly.

“If there’s not any food and you’re really hungry, come and find one of us, okay?” Lee Know said. “Someone will get you something.”

Felix slid his hand up his own shirt and under Hyunjin’s, rubbing at the bare skin on his lower back soothingly, waiting for the other to stop crying.

Hyunjin had always been sensitive, had always been prone to crying fits, and got even more sensitive when he was tired or unwell, the smallest things had the ability to send him into a fit of tears.

The others just watched as Felix soothed the hybrid, eyes and hands gentle. Felix had always been easy to read, especially when it came to how he felt about Hyunjin.

Hyunjin was a little more difficult in that regard. They knew Felix was his absolute favourite but they weren’t entirely sure how much of that had to do with the fact he was a hybrid.

Was Felix his favourite because of how Hyunjin felt towards him? Or was he just generally more comfortable around Felix? How much were his ferret and human traits tied into how he felt emotionally? They weren’t fully sure, but for the most part they assumed Hyunjin felt the same way.

Felix had an endless patience for Hyunjin’s antics, seemingly never getting annoyed when he broke something, or messed up the house, or when he was snappy or falling asleep all over the place. When he did get annoyed he handled it well, and was great at never taking it out on Hyunjin.

Chan had asked him about it once. He tried his best to never get mad at Hyunjin too, but sometimes he would show his irritation without meaning to, sending the hybrid into a sulking fit where he sighed constantly and moped around for a few hours.

The other members had been interested too, and Felix had looked up from his laptop, seeming surprised at the way they were all gazing at him and waiting for a response.

“Well, he never means to cause any harm and he gets upset with himself afterwards anyway, I don’t want to upset him or make him feel worse than he already does. Plus, most of the time I think it’s just cute.”

“Wait, what? He gets upset with himself?” Chan had said, leaning forwards on his chair.

Felix had blinked and pressed his lips together, realising Hyunjin must never have told the others about how he felt sometimes.

He had shook his head, not answering the question and focusing on his laptop. Chan had puffed up his cheeks and pouted, knowing he wasn’t going to get anything out of Felix when he made that face.

Felix continued stroking at Hyunjin’s ears, hair and back, feeling Hyunjin untense and slump against him more as he began to fall asleep, the hybrid struggling to continue licking at his neck as he got increasingly more tired. He eventually fell asleep, face tucked under Felix’s chin, tongue pressing gently against the skin as he breathed deeply. That was so cute to Felix, so endearing that Hyunjin had fallen asleep mid-lick somehow. He smiled and continued with the gentle petting, unaware of the knowing eyes that kept flitting to him.
