“Alright, your first day of high school, this is going to be easy!” A 14 year old Gretel said in a slightly cocky tone, as she smiled at her reflection.Over the past few years, Gretel had grown up a bit, both physically and mentally. She was slightly above average height for her agar, and Her outfit had changed a bit, she no longer wore her orange headband, rather letting her blond hair, at lower back level, flow freely behind her. Her eyes still blue, with a small nose, and nice but pretty pale skin. Her shirt was still blue, but, she had traded in her orange skirt for a pair of jeans which hugged her developing curves.“Looking great as always!” She winked at herself, never feeling more confident. Not only was still adorable, she was an incredibly gifted student, and the nicest person in town! That wasn’t even mentioning her superhero powers that stopped the villains of the tri state area, and all the other good things she had done for the earth! Heck, she might even be the greatest person in the entire world!“Better go, don’t want to be late and mess up my perfect attendance!” Gretel thought to herself, as she rushed down the stairs to meet her other brother.“Morning Hamster!” Gretel smiled at her once powerful pet. Being a superhero had helped him live over twice as long as other hamsters, however, his age was starting to show despite it. He tried his best, but, it had gotten to the point were he could barley lift a sign out of the ground, spending most of his time sleeping.“Hey Gretel” Hamster half waved before sleeping againMorning Kevin!”
“Morning Gretel.” Her brother yawned look a bit tired. At age 21 he had similar light skin to his sister and dark brown hair with black eyes. He wore his typical outfit of an orange jacket with a collar over his brown shirt and green pants. Kevin hasn’t changed too much in any physical aspects, but he was quite different mentally, something which had made him far more worried about his little sister lately. “Gretel, can we talk?”“I don’t really know if I have time, have to eat breakfast first” she almost instantly had a stack of pancakes and orange juice, consuming them in an instant. “All done!”“Gretel, do you really have to use your powers for-““Well I should get going, don’t want to be late-““Gretel, you can fly around the world in an instant.”“You know what? You’re right, I should just fly to school, it would be way faster-““GRETEL, that’s not what I meant! I’ll drive you to school on my way to college, that alright?”“Alright, let’s go!” Gretel rushed towards the cars, with Kevin following her. (Later in the car) “Gretel, you know I love you right?”“Yeah, sure” Gretel said, slightly distracted on her phone“GRETEL!”“OK, what is it?” Gretel said, jumping a bit, but also somewhat annoyed“Look Gretel, I love you, and you’re an amazing person, but I have to be honest with you.” He started, looking a bit nervous at his sisters raised eyebrow. “I think recently you’ve developed a bit of an ego.”“Excuse me?” She said angrily“Look, I know you work hard, but recently, you’ve been a bit meaner to everyone-““Like who?!” She demanded, clearly more upset“Well Fred for starters, you ignore her a lot now, when was the last time you saw her in person?“I text her a few times a month!”“That’s not what I meant. Plus, Bailey says whenever you guys talk, it’s about your high grades and superhero fights stopping evil.”“Excuse me if I want to talk about my great busy life and all my accomplishments, besides she loves when I talk about that stuff! Plus, I’ve been stopping evil all summer, I deserve to talk about it!”“That’s the other thing-““Oh what, you’re going to tell me fighting evil is bad now?”“Of course not, but, in the past few months, you seem to not be taking your heroic duties seriously.”“What’s that supposed to mean?”“When you fight villains now, you spend half the time mocking their outfits, names, and anything else you can think of-““Excuse me for not taking a women who can control onions, or a talking mustache seriously.” She rolls her eyes in annoyance“Plus, while you mess with them, you’re leaving everyone open to the chance of harm-““I SAVE EVERYONE!”“TONS OF HOMES AND BUILDINGS ARE STILL DESTROYED!” Kevin yelled as the two argued for a bit, before he remembered what Hiromi and him talked about in trying to be understanding when talking with his sister, as he did his best to calm down.“All I’m saying is, you could stand to take your work more seriously, you spend more time soaking in admiration from everyone after you deal with the bad guys!”“It’s not like I can help if everyone loves me, I do everything for the city.” She smirked at her brother, who was clearly frustrated. “Just saying that I deserve it for putting in all the work.”The car pulled up in front of the high school“That doesn’t mean it’s all you should care about, look Gretel, I’m just saying you should remember that, despite your powers, your human like everyone, it’s great that you help others, just try and show some respect and not constantly focus on the fame.”“Fine, I’ll try.” Gretel said in a somewhat sarcastic tone as she rolled her eyes a bit. She didn’t really care for how Kevin was lecturing her, but, she wanted the conversation to be over, so she flashed him a smile and he nodded.“That’s all I ask, have a good day at school, I’ll pick you up later.”“Alright, bye Kevin!” She continued to smile and wave at him as he drove off, stopping when he was out of sight and groaning in frustration.“God, he’s so annoying” she thought to herself as she walked up to the building, seeing a familiar face on the steps. “Bailey!Bailey smiled and waved back at her, being a bit shorter than her best friend, she had changed a bit as well, though not always for the better. Her skin was still a coco brown, and she did have a smaller nose with black eyes. Her hair was tied up in three buns, but, unfortunately, she did have a slight case of acne on her face, while also being a bit pudgy in comparison to her friend. Still, she thought she looked ok for being a normal teen, even though being friends with Gretel didn’t really help much.“Gretel! HI!” She continued to smile, though despite her outward happiness, she was a bit sad at their current relationship. “She is a good person, I just wish we could talk about something other than how great and hard her life is for her all time!” Bailey thought to herself but dismissed those ideas as the two walked down the hallway to their lockers. “So what’s new?”“Ugh, just Kevin being annoying as usual, this morning in the car, he kept lecturing me about how I need to take my responsibilities seriously and need to stop bragging about myself. SERIOUSLY, ME of all people! Like, sorry I’m constantly saving everyone while getting perfect grades, guess I can’t talk to others about it!”“You could cut back on it a bit you know.” Bailey mumbled to herself, while Gretel continued to go on. “I’m sure he doesn’t mean anything by it, he’s just looking out for you, ya know?”“Well I wish he’d stop, I’m 14, I can take care of myself!” She grumbled and folded her arms. “It’s fine though, I’ll show him the next time a supervillain pops up.”“Um Gretel, are you sure that’s such a-“RING“Oh time for class, come on, we don’t want to be late!”“Alright, I guess” Bailey was still a bit uneasy about what her friend meant, but, it was too late to question her now. (Later at Tri State College cafeteria) “I just don’t know about her recently Hiromi, I want to trust her, but recently its been tough. This morning she wanted to fly to school, just because it would faster! What if her secret got out? it just seems like she doesn’t care about anything but her own fame and accomplishments.” Kevin sighed in disappointment, chewing on a fry,as he was comforted by his girlfriend.Hiromi, like Kevin, hadn’t changed too much over the years. Having light skin and black eyes, along with purple hair that was tied into two ponytails. She still wore her black shirt with a little duck on it, despite some of the teasing, and a pair of yellow pants, both which hugged her curves. At a similar age to Kevin, the two had been dating for a few years now, and it was only recently that she had learned about Gretel being a superhero. She was shocked and delighted at first, but, while she still thought it was cool, it was obvious the strain it was putting on Kevin, and the fame that was getting to Gretel. She swore though, that she would continue to help the two in any way possible.“Kevin sweetie, I know you care about her, you know I do to, she’s like a sister to me, but she’s also a teen, and a superhero, of course she might act out sometimes.”“I know but-““Trust me dude, she’s a teenage girl, they act like that, I know.” Fred interrupted in a monotone voice. At the same age as the couple, Fred obviously stood out in appearance to other girls. Her light clear skin was normal, but, she had black eyes and a pair of pink glasses that were only visible from the left, as her short black hair covered the right side of her face. She wore black sweatpants with a purple shirt covered by a red jacket. The girl was curvier than most college students, but her outfit did a good job covering that, and even if it didn’t, her no nonsense personality would certainly make the point of her not really caring what others thought of her. “It’s just her way of doing things, it’s harmless.”“Yeah, thanks a lot Fred.” Kevin grumbled while he buried his face into his hands, with Hiromi comforting him again. He smiled up at her. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to put all this on you guys, I’m just worried about all, I don’t want her doing anything stupid or getting into any trouble.”“There’s nothing wrong with that Kevin.” She held his hand, and smiled back at him. “You’re just being a supportive big brother, Gretel will be alright. Sure she might act out sometimes and want to do things the easy way, but, she’s still a good girl, and I’m sure she feels bad for yelling at you.”SLURP “Yeah sure” Fred noticed the annoyed look from Hiromi and glare from Kevin. “It was just a joke, I swear no one gets my sense of humor.” She sighed and left the table.“I promise you everything is going to be ok, you’ll see, when we pick Gretel up later she’ll feel bad about recent things and apologize!” She smiled patting him on the back.Kevin let out a happy sigh. “You’re right honey, sometimes I do go a bit over the top, Gretel is a nice person and great hero, I’m sure she just going through a lot now, thank you for the support.” He kissed her on the cheek as she giggled, while Fred looked on in disgust.Gretel is a nice little sister after all, surely she wouldn’t do anything dangerous or inappropriate,right? Kevin tried to assure himself. (Back at High school with Gretel)“Man, this was such a great first day!” Sitting in final period, Gretel smiled, satisfied with how things had gone. Not only because she was doing great in her all in classes, as usual, but because she got to prank girls who thought they could mess with her for being a freshman.“Gretel, I don’t usually try to question you, cause we’re best friends, but, don’t you think what you did was extreme?” Bailey questioned with worry, as Gretel just scoffed.“They tried to prank me first.”“True, but, we’re freshmen and your revenge pranks are going too far!”“Oh please, like what?”“Well to start-““BREAKING NEWS!”“Oh, here we go.” Gretel rolled her eyesThe two girls stopped as they, along with everyone else in class, observed the warning broadcast on their phones.“The town is currently under attack from the notorious Professor Exclamation, the man vows to take over the town with his newest creation of unstoppable robots, but most citizens have ignored the mad scientist and expect Gretel to be here soon to save the day.”“Hey, I heard that! Don’t make a mockery of my greatness!” The professor yelled out in frustration“This is Veronica Hills, saying, why do I still work in this town?” The reporter finished as the broadcast ended, causing Gretel to smile.“Alright! This is my chance, I’ll show Kevin what kind of hero I can be!”“Gretel maybe-““Don’t worry Bailey, I’ll be back in five minutes.” She went up to the teacher. “Excuse me Mr. Johnson, can I use the bathroom?”“Well, in any other case I’d say no because we have twenty minutes left of class, but, since you’re my favorite student, sure.” The teacher smiled as Gretel thanked him, leaving the room. (In town) “Suffer you fools, HAHAHA!” The professor exclaimed, laughing like an insane man. While one his robots prepared to attack a building.Gretel just smirked and shouted out. “ROBOT PUNCH!” Slamming her fist through the hard clanking metal, and not only that, but managing to collect every piece of machinery before they hit any structures.“It seems Gretel has not only stopped the robots, but prevented them from hitting any structures. She must really be on her A game today!” Multiple reporters and broadcasts were watching the fight in interest. (Meanwhile at Tri State college) Class had ended, with Kevin, Hiromi, and Fred, as they all hung out outside the building.“So, you guys want to go out to eat? I know a new burger place that opened up.”“Sure that sounds fun!”“Yeah, but I have to get Gretel from school first.”“Oh, that’s not a problem hun, we’ll go both with you!”“We will?” Fred asked, and rolled her eyes when Hiromi elbowed her. “I mean, sure, whatever you want.”“Alright let’s-““Breaking news!“Oh no.” Kevin said in a worried tone“The superhero Gretel is currently battling the notorious villain Professor Exclamation, and is doing extraordinary well at preventing any type of damage!” Veronica hills was reporting as others reports and citizens also watched the girl rip through the robot army.Kevin actually felt slightly happy at this, perhaps what Hiromi had said was true, and he looked at her and they both smiled, perhaps Gretel was starting to take her work seriously.“Come on Professor, we both know how this is going to end, why don’t you just give up? Or are you just that much of a moronic idiot!”Kevin and Hiromi froze up hearing that.“Oh, here we go” Fred shook her head looking at that two.“Gretel, don’t do this.” Kevin thought to himself, but it didn’t stop there, as they continued to watch.“Why you spoiled brat, do you have any idea who you’re dealing with!”“A moronic failure who can’t make it a supervillain and is an embarrassment to everyone he knows?” This comment was really getting to him, not to mention, unaware to her, Kevin who continued to watch in anger.“How dare you!”“Oh how dare you Gretel, you ruined my dumbass plan to take over the town, and have caused me to cry like a bitch!” She mocked, which caused the villain to scream in anger, but, it paled to how angry Kevin was getting.“Wow, I’ve never seen his face that red before.” Fred commented on Kevin currently trying to control his frustration.“Honey, please-““NOW SHE’S CURSING! GRETEL I SWEAR-“ he vented as he continued to watch, while Hiromi looked on in worry.“Gretel, please don’t do anything else to upset him.” As all three watched, Gretel continued her insults to the angry man.Despite all the insults, and even curses which got some older people raising eyebrows in concern, the citizens still cheered her on, which was all Gretel needed.“See, there’s someone I know, who told me I’m not doing enough for the people, but I think they disagree right everybody?” The crowed cheers as Gretel smiles in satisfaction.“I’m sure this person is watching now, so maybe now that they see how much I do for everyone, and how I protect the town from evil, he can stop whining like a damn baby!”While the crowd laughed and cheered again, Kevin was beyond furious, not to mention humiliated.“Man, she’s really-““SHUT UP FRED!” He yelled causing others to stare at him, and taking her and Hiromi aback.“Wow, that was pretty intense.” Fred commented, as Kevin blushed a bit as he realized how loud his outburst had been.“Sorry, I just, I’m so, I don’t know-“ he ranted on to himself, causing his girlfriend to worry even more now.“I’ve never seen him this angry, I have to find some way to calm him down” Hiromi thought to herself, as she faced Kevin.“Hiromi I swear when I get ahold of her ill-“ He was cut off, as Hiromi placed her lips on his and started kissing him. The two had kissed before of course, but, this was one with passion, as the two basically felt like they shared a heartbeat for a few seconds.They only stopped when they heard whistles and cheers around them, realizing how many people were actually hanging around, both red in the face and breathing heavily.“Wow, that might be the most intense thing I’ve seen today.” Fred commented as the couple struggled to catch their breaths.“W-why did y-you-“ Kevin started“Because I don’t like to see you upset like that, look, I know we’ll have to have a talk with Gretel-““I’d say more than just a talk!”“But she’s still your little sister, and I don’t think you should freak out on her, just try to relax a little ok?”Kevin was still clearly frustrated, but he saw his girlfriend smile at him, and sighed, trying again to control his rage.“Ok, we will ABSOLUTELY need to talk, but, I’ll try and calm down a bit-““Um, guys?” Fred motioned towards the broadcast with Gretel not letting up, as the professor continued to fire and miss with his weapons, all while she stopped them from hitting anyone, and, to add more humiliation, knocked off his hat off. Feeling the top of his head, the professor became furious.“You horrible monster, I swear you will regret this, I will make you curse my name and the day you were born! You will suffer! I AM PROFESSOR EXCLAMATION, I WILL NOT BE MADE A FOOL OF!” He shouted to the sky, ranting and venting about the hero’s doom.Gretel chuckled, thinking about one last thing she could do to piss him off. “Should I do this though?” She thought to herself, worried that this might be to far, but, then she thought about all the work she did in saving the town, and Kevin constantly telling her how ego driven she was, which angered her again. “You know what, why not? I do all the work, I can do what I want!” She laughed at the villain continuing to rant and scream to himself.“What are you laughing at?!”“You know what? I’m laughing for a lot of reasons, how dumb and pathetic you look, how repetitive this who routine is, people who constantly doubt my abilities and hard work, but really, I’m laughing about how easy this whole thing is!” She continued laughing, ignoring the anger and rants from the villain who was going insane.“You can say or do whatever you want, but, I’m not threatened at all, face it, you’re just a joke, you’re no threat to me! So, what don’t you do this town a favor and leave or-“ she gripped her bottom shorts and pulled them down. “You can just kiss my ass!” She shook her jiggling spheres and even stuck her tongue out in a mocking fashion.Everyone watching was shocked, many kids and teens were laughing, Adults were shocked, and old people were disgusted! Professor Exclamation was the most disgusted, the idea that this child would do something like this! He couldn’t even react or say anything, which gave Gretel the distraction she needed.“DISTRACTED BAD GUY PUNCH!”Gretel smashed her fist into the Villain, even making a crunching sound, signaling a possible broken jaw. Gretel smiled in triumph, and, despite what just happened, the crowd old and young, all cheered for joy at hero.(Back with Kevin)“Woah, even I think that’s pretty extreme.” Fred mentioned at the action the three had just witnessed, looking at Kevin. “I’m pretty sure he’s broken.”Hiromi glared at Fred, who shrugged, before turning back to her motionless boyfriend. “Hey, Kevin, are you ok?” She tried to put a hand on him, only for his face to turn red, as he had filled with rage he hadn’t experienced before, only able to yell out one word that could practically be heard around the city.“GRETEL!”“GRETEL! GRETEL! GRETEL!” Everyone cheered in happiness as she smiled and waved.“Well there you have it folks, looks like this villain had been shown the end of his ways, and became the butt of superhero Gretel joke! I’m Veronica Hills, back to you at the studio!While the crowd continued to cheer and Gretel smiled and took off, a shadowy figure was watching from afar, shaking his head in disappointment.“Pathetic.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
(Back at High School)Many students had seen the recent broadcast and had still been talking excitedly about how cool the fight, and of course Gretel the superhero, was. Gretel walked backed in smiling at all the praise she heard around her, and thinking about the wonderful job she did, not to mention the funny prank she pulled. All the students loved it, except for one who was clearly disappointed.“Gretel, what were you thinking?” Her best friend Bailey demanded, frowning and shaking her head. “You can’t do something like that, it’s inappropriate, what if your brother had seen? What would your parents think if they knew about the whole thing!” She was clearly upset, but, Gretel just hand waved the rant off.“Relax Bailey, Kevin never pays attention to these fights, he probably stopped watching a few minutes in, and my parents will never figure out I’m a hero. Besides, you have to admit, it was pretty funny!”“You could be arrested for mooning or indecent exposure! Not to mention people who could use this against you!”Gretel rolled her eyes. “Bailey, no one knows I’m Gretel the hero, and besides, everyone laughed, they know it’s clearly a joke, not to mention they’re grateful for having someone who constantly saves everyone’s lives all the time!”Bailey was the one who rolled her eyes now, as she had to spend the last few minutes of class listening to Gretel ramble again about how great she is, and how everyone should praise her like the goddess she basically is.“This really has to stop.” Bailey shook her head as the girl continued to ramble for another 15 minutesRING“Alright, class dismissed!” Mr. Johnson announced as the students began to leave. “Oh Gretel, May I have a word?”“Sure thing Mr J” Gretel smiled as Bailey just rolled her eyes and continued, telling Gretel she would meet her outside.“I’m assuming you probably didn’t see the whole fight with the hero and villain while you were in the bathroom correct?”“Yeah that’s right”“Then you’re lucky, not having to bear witness to indecent youth.” The teacher sighed and shook his head. “Baring her bottom for the world, what kind of superhero does such things?”“Well, maybe she was just joking?” Gretel said as an innocent question, still smiling to hide her annoyance with the teacher.“Even if it was a joke or not, it was still wrong! But back to you Gretel, I just want to say, I’m glad their are stand up girls like you to do the right thing, thank you for always doing the eighth thing and helping others, your a truly great student and person!” He smiled sincerely“Sure, thank you Mr. J, I’ll keep doing my best!” She was still polite on the outside, but extremely angry inside. “I should probably get going, have to meet up with friend-““Yes of course, you go along, and enjoy yourself.”Gretel started to walk away, however, as her teacher turned around, she used ber super speed, an ability she had practically mastered, to become almost invisible and take out all the bolts holding the man’s desk together, before continuing on her way out like nothing had happened, meeting up with Bailey again, as the began to walk to the exit. Unaware of the same shadow figure watching her from the window and looked disappointed.“What a waste”“Ok Gretel like I was saying, I think maybe, with the pranks and everything else today, that you’ve-“Suddenly a loud crash could be heard from down the hall, as the students looked back to see what had happened.“Don’t worry students, it was just a desk, nothing to worry about, you can continue to your homes. I’ll get it repaired tomorrow.” The poor teacher had told everyone, causing them to shrug and continue, except Bailey, who looked at Gretel with a concerned look.“Gretel you didn’t-““Of course not! Some people just have bad luck and get what’s coming to them for disrespecting heroes.” She casually waved off, as the two were outside of the school.“GRETEL!” Bailey stopped in front of her friend, much to her annoyance. “We need to talk about this, it’s serious! This is the second time today! You can’t just-““Fred?” Gretel questioned, as the women walked up to the two teen girls. “What are you doing here? Where’s Kevin and Hiromi?”“They….saw the news report.”“Oh no!”“Yeah, I’ve never seen your brother that upset before, he looked like he was ready to explode. I have to say, what you did was pretty extreme, even by my standards, didn’t really know you had that in you. Still, Kevin is super pissed, and Hiromi didn’t want him to kill you, so they sent me to get you guys.”Gretel had stopped listening at this point, ignoring Fred talking and Bailey shaking her head in disappointment, only thinking about how angry her brother was going to be at the whole thing and sighed. “This will be a tough situation to get myself out of, maybe he’ll be understanding?” (Later At The House) Fred and Bailey walked through the door casually, while Gretel popped her head in and peaked, hoping that by some impossibility, Kevin had left, and slowly tiptoed in.“Gretel-“ Gretel jumped a bit at the sudden noise, breathing a slight sigh of relief, as she only saw Hiromi, though she had her arms crossed and was shaking her head in disappointment. “I calmed Kevin down enough to where he’s willing to speak to you, but, when he comes in, just please don’t say anything to upset him.“But-“She put her finger up to her lips to quiet the girl, and continued. “I hope you have a good reason for doing what you did, or at the very least, have a good apology ready.” She stated, as the four heard the door open and a figure walk down the stairs.Gretel had never really been intimidated by her brother, after all she could basically kill him with one punch is she ever wanted to, not that she would of course. Still, seeing his decent down the stairs, and now looking down at her,the way her parents would when she messed up, made her tense a bit, even filled her with some worry, though she tried to wave it off. He, then arrived in the living room, sitting across from his sister, while the others watched, Hiromi in worry, Bailey in silence, and Fred in curiosity.“Hey, how’s the best big brother in the world?!” Gretel flashed her best smile, hoping it would ease his mood, but also noticed him still frowning and glaring at her.“Gretel-““Before you say anything, just know that I only picked up cursing from school, and occasionally mom and dad, but, I’m really sorry! I promise, from now on, no more cursing, my mouth will be clean of any dirty language!”Kevin had a half smile on his face, and Gretel had hoped that he had calmed down a bit, she had just apologized after all.“That’s great Gretel, I’m glad to hear it, now maybe we can talk about how YOU FLASHED YOUR BUTT TO THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA!”Gretel could only nervously look at the ground, and tried to laugh to ease the tension.“Hehe, I mean, if you think about it, it was kind of funny-““FUNNY! FUNNY!!!” Kevin face was red and he fumed with anger, as Hiromi tried to step in.“Honey, calm down a bit. Now Gretel, please, just tell us what would make your think it was ok to-““It was just a joke! It wasn’t a big deal!” Gretel argued, as Kevin stepped in again“Flashing your ass for the world to see is not a joke! Do you not have any respect?”“I guess not” Gretel rolled her eyes in annoyance“Gretel!”“Look, it’s over, I stoped the bad guy and saved everyone, we can move on, it doesn’t matter!”“Gretel, this does matter! You don’t care about anyone but yourself, and you keep doing whatever you want!”“I SAVE PEOPLE!”“Do you?” Fred sarcastically said causing the others to look at her. “Because if today was any indication, you could stop Villains from destroying peoples property, and you haven’t been doing a good job at that recently.”Everyone was surprised by her non sarcastic demeanor, but nodded in agreement.“Gretel, she’s right, why haven’t you been doing this more? Why are you allowing this to happen all the time?”Gretel was silent for a bit, but refused to give in on her stance. “I can’t always be on my A game when this happens so often, I save people from villains and that’s most important!“Gretel, I’m not denying you save people, but you can still-““What about the revenge for those pranks?” Bailey only whispered this, yet everyone heard clear as day.“Bailey!” Gretel said in an angry tone and narrowed her eyes at her friend.“NO GRETEL! She’ll never forgive you!” But another small part knew he had to do this, in order to teach her how wrong her actions had been.“I do”With those two words, everyone was stunned, Fred was speechless for once, Bailey couldn’t stop crying and blaming herself, while Hiromi was only able to utter one word while tearing up.“Kevin”Kevin, with tears in his eyes, could barley even look his sister in the face. He felt like he himself had committed a crime.Gretel was shaking and crying, in a way she hasn’t ever done before. The once proud hero sibling was bawling like a child, tears flooding her face, she was unable to process her emotions, as her heart felt like it had broken in two.“Gretel, I’m-““I WISH YOU WEREN’T MY BROTHER!”Gretel quickly ran out the door and transformed, flying off in the blink of an eye, as Kevin and the others went out after her, only to find they were too late.“GRETEL, COME BACK!” Kevin screamed out in sorrow, the weight of his choice finally being understood. “What have I done?”Meanwhile, the shadow figure had seen the entire exchange, and Gretel flying away as fast as she could, smiling to himself.“Gretel of earth, it’s time for your battle”
