Chapter 1: April Fools

Wednesday, April 1, Xavier Institute
Kitty was sitting on the couch in the living room on the phone talking to Peter, “You are the worst nerd ever,” Kitty said
Empire State University
“How’s that,” Peter asked as he walked through campus, heading to his next class.
Xavier Institute
“Because you hate Star Wars, you’re a nerd, nerds love Star Wars, it’s a scientific fact,” Kitty said“Is it now, I wasn’t aware of that,” Peter said“Well, it is. How can you hate Star Wars,” Kitty asked“Honestly,” Peter asked“Honestly,” Kitty said“I think that it is overused, I think that Star Wars has had its time, and now it’s time to lay it to rest. I mean they’re just reaching at this point. It’s overused, overdone, unrealistic, and to be completely honest I hate The Force,” Peter said“You hate The Force,” Kitty asked shocked by what she just heard.“Yep, totally hate it. it’s just dumb, and stupid, and unrealistic,” Peter said“The Force is so realistic,” Kitty said“No, it’s not,” Peter said“Yes, it is,” Kitty said“Not,” Peter said“Is,” Kitty said“Not,” Peter said“Is,” Kitty said“Not,” Peter said“Is,” Kitty said“Not, not, not,” Peter said“Is, is, is,” Kitty said“Not,” Peter said“We’re arguing like five-year-olds. Is,” Kitty said“You want to stop, just say it isn’t. Also, not,” Peter said“Never, I’ll never stop. Is,” Kitty said“Well, normally I’d continue this argument, but I am approaching my class. You wanna hang out after I’m done with my classes,” Peter asked“Sure. When do you get done with class,” Kitty answered“3:00,” Peter said“Ok, how about I meet you outside campus,” Kitty said“Sounds good,” Peter said“Then I will see you at three,” Kitty said“Yes, you will, later,” Peter said“Bye,” Kitty saidWith that they both hung up, Peter looked at his phone for a moment and smiled, he then pocketed his phone, then opened the door to his class, and entered.Meanwhile Kitty looked at her phone and smiled, she then sighed as she thought about Peter, they had only been dating for a few days, and already she was lovestruck with him. She couldn’t help it, after their first date, they called, texted, and hung out in person. They actually went on a date yesterday which he was late to, but he said that there was a fight between Spider-Man and Shocker, and he had to get pictures of it for his boss. He even showed her the pictures which she has to say were really good. It’s one thing to see the pictures in the newspaper, but it is another to see the actual picture. And through it all, Kitty found out that Peter is just the best guy, there is no way she is letting him go.
A voice then brought Kitty out of her thoughts.“Hey Kitty,” the voice said getting Kitty’s attention, she then looked to her left and saw Bobby leaning over the couch looking at her.“Oh, hey Bobby,” Kitty said in a normal tone, for once in this past month she is not annoyed by his presence, she it just to happy right now.“What’s up,” Bobby asked“Nothing much,” Kitty saidBobby nodded, “So, I was wondering if you wanted to go out, catch a movie, maybe that new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, it looks good, don’t you think,” he asked“Sorry Bobby,” Kitty said as she got up from the couch, “But I have plans,” she said surprising Bobby.“You do? With who,” Bobby saidKitty looked at Bobby and smirked, “With my boyfriend,” she said“Boyfriend,” Bobby repeated in disbelief.“Yep, boyfriend,” Kitty said“Since when do you have a boyfriend,” Bobby asked“Since yesterday,” Kitty answered, they talked about it, and thought hey, they like spending time together, they make out, and they like each other, so why shouldn’t they be boyfriend and girlfriend. And they are still feeling elation from it, or she is anyway. She never really thought that she could be this happy of being someone’s girlfriend, the last time she felt this kind of elation would be when she and Piotr finally got together, “Anyway, I gotta go, I’ll see ya later Bobby.” Kitty then walked out of the room leaving a shellshocked Bobby.As Kitty walked through the institute, she checked her phone for the time, and saw that it was 10:30 am. She groans in annoyance; she’s meeting Peter at three. What is she supposed to do for four-and-a-half hours. Something being thrown on her head snaps Kitty out of her thoughts, taking the object off, Kitty looks at it and sees that it’s her Shadowcat suit, she then looked to where it came from and sees Logan standing there.“Time to train half-pint,” Logan said making Kitty groan, “Hey, I won our bet, remember.”“Yes, I remember,” Kitty said, she wanted something to do, but this isn’t what she had in mind, she was more thinking of finding Rogue or Kurt, and hangout. But Logan won the bet, and she’s a woman of her word, so now she has two weeks training with Logan. Really makes being with Peter bittersweet, it’s sweet because she has a boyfriend which is awesome, but it’s bitter because now she has to train with Logan and that means spending time with him, which is something that she has been trying to avoid for over a year.“I gave you two days kid, times up. Come on short stack, class is in session,” Logan said as he started to walk away.Kitty puffed her cheeks, “Don’t call me short stack,” Kitty said as she followed Logan.
Empire State University
Peter was in class taking notes from the lecture, he couldn’t wait till his classes were over and he gets to see Kitty again. To see his girlfriend again, he still can’t believe it. Girlfriend, it was made official yesterday, and he is still very happy about it, the smile just hasn’t left his face. Kitty truly is an amazing woman, he really wants to make this work, hopefully Spider-Man doesn’t screw it up. Peter is broken from his thoughts when the teacher calls him to answer a question.
Xavier Institute, Danger Room
Multiple lasers were being shot at Shadowcat who was dodging each of them to the best of her ability. Three lasers shot from above her, but she did a backhand spring to dodge them. Shadowcat then hears buzz saws, eyes widening Shadowcat ducked just in time from having her head chopped from her shoulders. ‘That could have killed me,’ she thought, Shadowcat is snapped out of her thoughts by a battering ram coming down from the ceiling to crush her, quickly Shadowcat rolls out of the way. “Shit,” Shadowcat said“Pay attention,” Logan’s voice saidShadowcat looked up and saw mechanical tentacles coming her way, “Oh come on,” she said, Shadowcat then got up just as the first tentacle went to grab her, but she jumped away, a second tentacle tried but she jumped over it, as she was in the air lasers were shot at her, on instinct Shadowcat phased making the lasers go right through her. When she landed more lasers were shot at her, but Shadowcat ran just barely dodging the lasers, a wall then comes from the ground in front of Shadowcat. The young heroine phases through the wall only to have to dodge two mechanical arms, two lasers are then shot and make contact with her, both to her shoulders, making her scream in pain.
After that everything stops, and Shadowcat is standing there panting, sweat pouring down her face.“Well, I guess you did better than last time,” Logan said as he walked in the Danger Room.“You’re…psychotic…you know…that right…Logan,” Shadowcat said as she panted looking at Logan.“Still, you could have done better,” Logan said“How could I have done better? I nearly died, I don’t know how many times today, because of this exercise,” Shadowcat said, seriously, Logan has made her do a lot of exercises over the years, but this one, the one that he has made her do, this one takes the cake.“You still haven’t realized it, have ya half-pint,” Logan said as he looked down at Kitty.“What? What haven’t I realized,” Shadowcat asked“This isn’t the first time that you’ve done this exercise kid,” Logan said getting Shadowcat’s attention, “Two years ago this used to be your regular workout.”Shadowcat’s eyes widen at that. No, no way, it couldn’t be, “You’re lying,” she said“Computer, exercise designation,” Logan said“Exercise designation, Sharpening level 9,” the computer’s voice spoke.“Still think I’m lying,” Logan saidShadowcat didn’t answer Logan though, she was too caught up in her thoughts. Sharpening level 9, that is what she did two years ago, back then she’d breeze right on through, but now, she barely survived. Two years ago, she would come out of the training with a good sweat. Now, well she’s surprised that her body hasn’t run out of water with how much she’s sweating. Is she really this out of shape? Where she can’t even do the training exercise that she did two years ago. She knows that she hasn’t used Sharpen level 9 since then, and maybe she did slack off a bit, but she couldn’t have slacked off that much right? Obviously not. How could she have let herself get so lazy? Shadowcat then thought about the past year and when the institute was attacked by the Silver Samurai’s men, how she was taken down without even a fight. God, that was embarrassing, even then she knew that she was better than that. She was taught better than that. She hates to admit it, but Logan was right, she really has gotten soft. Shadowcat growled a very Logan-like growl. No, she will not be soft. She was forged into a weapon, she will not allow herself to dull.
“Let’s call it a session,” Logan said as he starts to walk away.“No,” Shadowcat said stopping Logan, and making him look at her, “Let’s keep going.”“You sure kid,” Logan asked getting a nod from Shadowcat.“I am, let’s go,” Shadowcat said as she stood up straight.“Ok,” Logan said, he then turned around and walked out of the Danger Room.
A minute later all the traps and weapons activate and are aimed at Shadowcat who gains a look of determination. She was forged into a weapon, she will not allow herself to dull, time to sharpen her up,
Two hours later, Kitty’s Room
A freshly showered Kitty groans as she moved her limbs, “Let’s call it a session he said. No, you said, let’s keep going you said,” Kitty said to herself as she got out her usual clothes and put them on, finally she has her jacket left. “I couldn’t have, just taken it could I,” Kitty said grimacing as she put one arm through the jacket. “I had to be stubborn,” Kitty then grimaced some more as she put the other arm through. “Your stubbornness is gonna get you in trouble one day Katherine.” Kitty then groaned, she looked at the clock, and saw that it was 1:30 pm, “An hour-and-a-half till I have to meet Peter, what to do,” Kitty said, an idea then struck her, “I know, I’ll make him a cupcake.” With that decided Kitty exited her room and headed to the kitchen to start baking.
Empire State University
Peter was exiting his class and was heading to his final class of the day, and thank goodness for that, once he’s done with his next class, he can meet Kitty outside of campus, and they can just hangout. As he walked Peter passed by Jessica who was sitting on a bench. “Hey Peter,” Jessica called getting Peter’s attention.Peter stopped as he saw Jessica approach, “Oh, hey Jessica, what’s up? Haven’t seen you since the golf course,” Peter said“Yeah, well I’ve been kind of busy, people keep coming to me and ask me to find their lost stuff,” Jessica saidPeter smiled, “Jessica Jones, E.S.P.I.,” Peter saidJessica smiled, “Please don’t call me that, I hate that title,” Jessica said“What, E.S.P.I.? It stands for Empire State Private Investigator, you are this campus’s private investigator,” Peter said“Some private investigator, I’m mostly looking for missing notebooks, textbooks, or recorders,” Jessica said“Really,” Peter askedJessica nodded, “Well some creep once asked me to follow his girlfriend, because he thought she was cheating on him, all because she wouldn’t show him one text,” she said“Wow, trust issues, but hey people go to you because you’re good at this. Think about when you’re actually out there, you could make a killing as a P.I.,” Peter said“Yeah, except that is not what I want to do. Anyway, how was the date that you had,” Jessica askedPeter smiled when he thought about his first date with Kitty that was three days ago, “It was great, so great that we decided to go on a second one, we actually just went on our third date yesterday,” Peter said“Wow, three dates in three days, you two must really like each other,” Jessica said“We do, yesterday we talked and decided that we liked each other so much, that we decided to put in titles,” Peter said“Wait, you mean,” Jessica saidPeter nodded, “I now have myself a girlfriend. I know, I’m surprised too, never would have thought that I would get a girlfriend after only a month after a breakup, but I do. Weird how things just happen heh,” Peter said“I know what you mean,” Jessica said“Yeah, anyway, I have to go to class,” Peter said“Yeah, I have to head home, I’ve been here since seven,” Jessica said“Ohhhh,” Peter said“I know, anyway I’ll see you later Peter,” Jessica said“Later Jessica,” Peter saidWith that Peter and Jessica walked separate ways, Peter to his next class, and Jessica to the parking lot.
On the road
Jessica who is driving a black Sudan was driving her car on the road when a light turned red. Jessica stopped her car and watched as she saw cars passing by in front of her, “Heh, I was hoping maybe that date didn’t go so well. Girlfriend. Well, he’s definitely off the market now, I knew I should have started flirting two weeks ago. That girl is lucky,” Jessica saidWhat she didn’t know was that a chemical truck was approaching the area that she was at.Jessica spent another minute waiting when the light turned green, “Finally,” Jessica said as she started to move forward, just as she was in the middle of the intersection Jessica hears loud honking, she then turns to where she heard the noise and sees the chemical truck fast approaching her. There wasn’t enough time to react when the truck ran into Jessica’s car, the chemicals bursting from the truck.At the wreck site Jessica’s car is seriously banged up, the roof somehow ripped off. The young woman is currently unconscious, Jessica with her head laying on the horn making it go off. Pouring down on her are chemicals.
Xavier institute
A ding is heard, and Kitty walks up to the oven, she places on her oven mitts, opens the oven, and takes out a tray that has one chocolate cupcake on it. Kitty places the tray on the stove, and lets the cupcake cool down. After the cupcake cools, Kitty goes to get the frosting that they have. As she looked for the frosting Rogue comes walking in the kitchen.“Something smells good,” Rogue said“I sure hope so, I made a cupcake,” Kitty said“Really? Why,” Rogue askedKitty looked at Rogue and smiled, “It’s for Peter,” Kitty answered“You made the guy a cupcake? Wow, you are crazy for him,” Rogue saidKitty eventually finds the frosting, she then turned to look at Rogue, “Maybe a little,” Kitty said, she then went back to the cupcake and put chocolate icing on. Once that is done Kitty puts the icing away.“Wow, that is some cupcake,” Rogue said“I know right,” Kitty said as she picked up the cupcake and placed it in a container. Kitty then looked at the clock and saw that it was 2:30 pm, “I should get going, Peter’s class gets out in thirty minutes,” Kitty said as she made her way to the door, “See you later Rogue,” Kitty said as she exited the kitchen.“See ya, Kitty,” Rogue said
Empire State University

Peter, who just got out of his last class, exits the Empire State campus. Once he exits, Peter stops and looks around to look for Kitty, it takes a minute, but Peter eventually finds her standing in the crowd of people looking around in curiosity. Smiling Peter makes his way over to her.Kitty, who was holding a purse to keep the cupcake in, was waiting for Peter. She was taking the time to look at the campus, now she wishes that she said meet on campus. Kitty then notices Peter walking up to her, they both smiled at each other as Peter approached.“Hey,” Peter greeted as he wrapped his arms around Kitty’s waist.“Hey,” Kitty greeted as she wrapped her arms around Peter’s neck, they then leaned toward each other and shared a kiss., and just as every other kiss they have had before it feels like fireworks going off After five seconds they break apart, and Kitty again feels her lips tingle, it is a new sensation for her. A good sensation, one that she doesn’t mind getting used to, “So how were your classes,” Kitty asked as they walked away from E.S.U.“They were good, we started a new chapter in Organic Chemistry,” Peter said“Really,” Kitty asked interested, these past few days when Peter talked about his life in college, Kitty was always interested considering she may never be able to live that life.“Really, it was very interesting, although I did know most of the material,” Peter said smiling.“You are such a nerd,” Kitty said smirking at Peter.“Yeah, well you’re the one who said yes to being this nerd’s girlfriend,” Peter said“That’s true, I always did find nerds kind of hot,” Kitty said“Really,” Peter asked as he smirked for her.“Really, I love how much of a smarty pants, nerds can be. Funnily enough despite that, you are the first nerd that I ever dated,” Kitty said making Peter laugh.“Well, I’m glad that I was your first,” Peter saidKitty lightly punched Peter’s arm in response to the comment, “Don’t say that. People could get the wrong idea,” Kitty said“Oh, and what kind of idea could people be getting,” Peter said raising an eyebrow at Kitty.Kitty once again punched Peter’s arm, “Get your head out of the gutter Parker. Our relationship just started, you’re gonna have to work your butt off if you want that,” Kitty said“And what makes you think my head is in the gutter,” Peter asked“You’re a guy, and guys heads are always in the gutter. It is a known fact, that guys are naturally perverts,” Kitty said as she smiled at Peter.“Oh, is that a fact,” Peter asked getting a nod from Kitty, “Just like there is a fact that nerds love Star Wars?”“Exactly,” Kitty said“I wasn’t aware there were studies about this,” Peter said“Well, you’ve obviously been looking in the wrong place,” Kitty said“Well, I must defy those studies considering that I hate Star Wars,” Peter saidKitty shook her head, “Worst nerd ever,” she said“I’m not sure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult,” Peter saidKitty shrugged, “That’s for you to decide,” she said making Peter laugh which causes her to laugh to. As they continued walking, they found themselves at the park, and Kitty sees a park bench. She looked at Peter who was just looking around the park, enjoying the scenery. Kitty can’t help but smile at that. “Hey,” she said getting Peter’s attention on her, “You wanna sit down?”“Sure,” Peter saidThe couple then walked over to the park bench and sat down on the bench, they spent some time in silence just enjoying the scenery and each other’s company. After a while they started talking about what they were doing before they met up. Peter was telling Kitty about his classes which she listened to with rapt attention, and Kitty started to tell him about her training session with Logan.“He had buzz saws flying at me, at fast speeds. I mean I’ve had buzz saws flying at me before, but I couldn’t remember them coming at me that fast. I nearly had my head sawed off. Not to mention me being almost crushed to death. Seriously there was not a single safety protocol set up on that exercise,” Kitty explainedPeter whistled, “How the heck are you still alive,” he asked“I’ve been asking myself that all day,” Kitty said“Well, I did say that there were easier ways to kill yourself,” Peter saidKitty smiled, “Yeah, you did,” she said, she then sighed, “But I have no choice but to continue. I have to do this for two weeks.”“Why’s that,” Peter askedKitty hesitated for a moment, unsure how Peter would take it. she didn’t want him to be offended, they had just become official yesterday, and she would rather them not have a fight on their first day as an official couple. But part of being in a relationship is honesty, and it would be better for him to hear it from her than somebody else. With that realization Kitty decided to answer, “It was a bet,” Kitty said“A bet,” Peter askedKitty nodded, “It was how he convinced me to go on our first date. Logan bet me that if I didn’t like the date then I name it, he would do whatever I told him to do, it didn’t matter how absurd, unreasonable, humiliating, demeaning, or degrading, but if I liked our date then I would have to train with him for two weeks. Well, I lost our bet, so now I have to train with him for two weeks,” she saidPeter was quiet for a minute letting what he heard sink in. That minute made Kitty nervous, she really hopes that he isn’t angry with her about it. After a minute of silence Peter asked a very important question, it just had to be asked, “So, what did you want Logan to do,” he asked surprising Kitty a little.“I wanted him to walk in public cross dressed in a black dress, high heels, make up, everything,” Kitty answered making Peter burst out laughing at the image of Logan doing that.“Oh my god…that is…hilarious…How in…the world…did he not…kill you…,” Peter asked laughing between words.Kitty grinned at Peter’s laughing, “He wouldn’t dare, he needs as many X-Men as he can get,” she said making Peter laugh again. Kitty sighed in relief, “I’m glad you find that entertaining, I was afraid that might offend you.”“Why would it offend me,” Peter asked as he looked at Kitty questioningly.“It’s just, I went on the date because of a bet. People can find that offensive,” Kitty answered“Well, I don’t think I really have room to be angry when I did something similar,” Peter answered“Really,” Kitty asked intrigued, getting a nod from Peter, “What did you do?”“I’m not sure I should say,” Peter answered“What, come on, tell me. I promise not to get angry,” Kitty said, she really wants to know.“It’s not you I’m worried about. It’s Logan, he told me that if I told anyone, then he’d gut me, and I don’t feel like running away from him. The guy doesn’t get tired, he’ll chase me all around the city for hours, shouting profanities, and swinging his claws at me. He’s done it before,” Peter said“Trust me, I can handle Logan. As long as you are my boyfriend, you are well protected,” Kitty said, when she saw Peter’s contemplative look, she knew that all she needed to do was give one more push. With that Kitty brought out her puppy dog eyes, or kitten eyes as people tend to call them, “Please Peter, please tell me. I would give you a nice reward.”Seeing the kitten eyes, Peter came to a conclusion then, “I am so doomed,” he said, making Kitty inwardly smirk at the comment, because with her, he is doomed. Peter sighed, “Ok fine I’ll tell, but I do expect Wolverine protection, and whatever that reward promise is.”“Deal,” Kitty said immediately getting out of her kitten face, and to seal the deal she kissed Peter’s cheek which made them both blush a bit. Once her blush subsided Kitty asked the question, “So what did you make Logan do?”“I told Logan that if he wanted me to go on the date then he would have to go up to an Avenger and say that I was his best friend,” Peter saidKitty, knowing Logan as well as she does laughs at that, she could just imagine his reaction to that. She also has a feeling that she knows what he may have been thinking when Peter said that, and that is just plain hilarious to her. “Oh my god…I can’t believe…that you did that….,” Kitty said as she laughed, “And he agreed?”Peter nodded, “Surprisingly yes. To say I was surprised was an understatement, I mean I expected him to storm out of the room and throw profanities my way. But to my utter surprise he actually agreed to do it. we then left the room in search of one of the Avengers which just happened to be Hawkeye,” Peter said getting a grin from Kitty, she’s heard of Hawkeye, and if what she’s heard was correct then he was not the Avenger that Logan wanted to say that too. “So, Logan and I go to Hawkeye and Logan tells him, well he more like growled out that I was his best friend. Hawkeye then looked at us and burst out laughing. Hawkeye then told me that I had to tell him how I got Logan to say that, before I could tell though, Logan picked me up by the shirt and dragged me away. When we were far enough away, he put his fist under my chin and activated his claws boxing my head in them. He then told me that if I told anyone then he would gut me, so I promised. But I broke my promise and once Logan finds out, he is gonna try and gut me,” Peter said casually like Logan threatening him wasn’t such a big deal.Kitty leaned toward Peter and kissed him lightly on the lips, “Don’t worry about Logan, like I said I’ll protect you,” she said“Well, I feel safer already,” Peter said smiling making Kitty smile in return. Peter then wraps his arm around Kitty’s shoulder, and she leans herself into him, resting her head on his shoulder. Both enjoying the contact that they have with each other. It just goes to show that you don’t always need to be making out to prove how you feel about each other. They sit there for a while, how long neither knows, both are just too absorbed in the moment to keep track of the time. After an unknown amount of time sitting there, Kitty remembers the cupcake that she made for Peter.“I just remembered something,” Kitty said getting Peter’s attention.“Yeah, what’s that,” Peter askedKitty smiled, she then pulled herself away from Peter and grabbed her purse. She then opened the purse and took out a small box. Kitty then opened the box and took out the cupcake that she made, much to Peter’s surprise.“What’s this,” Peter asked“I made you a cupcake,” Kitty answered“Really,” Peter asked in surprise getting a nod from Kitty. This was a surprise, Peter didn’t expect Kitty to make him a cupcake, that’s actually really sweet of her. He didn’t even know that she could bake, guess that is just another side of Kitty that he will have to learn about. Not that he has a problem with that. “Thanks Kitty, but you didn’t have to.”Kitty shrugged, “I know, but I wanted to,” she said“Well, thank you, really,” Peter said grinning making Kitty grin as well. Peter then went to grab the cupcake but was stopped by Kitty.“Wait,” Kitty said stopping Peter as he looked at her questioningly. Kitty just smiled and grabbed the cupcake herself, “Say ah.”Peter couldn’t help but smile at that, “Really? That’s kind of cheesy, isn’t it,” Peter commentedKitty smiled, “Well, I like cheesy, so say ah,” Kitty saidPeter, thinking what the hell, decided to humor Kitty and opened his mouth, “Ah,” he said, Peter couldn’t help but feel silly but seeing the smile on Kitty’s face was worth feeling silly.Seeing Peter doing as she said, Kitty brings the cupcake slowly to Peter’s mouth ready to feed him. But just as it was a couple of inches from Peter’s mouth, Kitty’s smile turned into a mischievous smirk and before Peter could react, Kitty pushed the cupcake in his face making it go everywhere. The look on Peter’s face when he realized what just happened was so priceless Kitty wished that she had a camera. Although she probably wouldn’t have been able to use it due to all of the laughing that she was doing.Peter just stared at Kitty as she laughed at him, what happened finally catching up to him. She made a cupcake for him, he thought that was sweet of her, she was gonna feed him, he thought that was cheesy but did it anyway, then as the cupcake was inches from his mouth and he was gonna take a bite, she slams it in his face, and now he has a face full of cupcake.Kitty continued to laugh as she saw Peter’s face, “April Fools,” she said“April fools,” Peter finally said getting a nod from a laughing Kitty.“It is April Fools Day,” Kitty said“I can’t believe it, our first day as boyfriend and girlfriend and you prank me,” Peter said“Yep,” Kitty said“And to think, I was sparing you from any pranks I had planned, because we just officially became a couple,” Peter said“Yeah, well that was your fault,” Kitty retorted still grinning, “So, what do you think of my cupcake?”Peter takes a bit of cupcake that is on his face and tries it. after he tried it, he shrugs, “Heh, store bought is better,” he saidKitty gasped in response, “How dare…,” but Kitty was interrupted by Peter gathering up the cupcake on his face and slamming it in hers. The stunned look on her face makes Peter laugh hard.“That’s…a…good look…for you…chocolate…is so…you,” Peter laughed between words.Kitty scowled in response, “This is not funny,” she said“You’re right, it’s hilarious,” Peter said laughing“Let’s see how funny you think this is when I kick your ass,” Kitty said as she lunged at Peter, but he was too quick and got off the bench just in time.“You’ll have to catch me first,” Peter said as he took off running with Kitty giving chase.“Peter, get back here, you jerk, and take your punishment like a man,” Kitty called out“I thought my punishment was trying that cupcake,” Peter said making Kitty gasp again at him bashing her cupcakes.“That’s it when I get my hands on you. I will make you suffer,” Kitty said as she chased Peter around the park.“You’re gonna have to catch me first,” Peter said“I’m an X-Man Parker, me catching you is inevitable, so just make it easy in yourself and let me catch you,” Kitty said“Not a chance,” Peter said as he continued to run. They did this for a while Kitty chasing Peter around the park trying to catch him, she has gotten close a few times, but right when it seemed that she would catch him Peter sped up or took an unexpected turn dodging her and frustrating her further. Finally, as she missed catching her prey once again Kitty thinks for a moment, obviously her plan isn’t working so she needs to make a new one. With that Kitty smirked and went to set her plan in motion.Peter was running, all the while smiling, having a good time, “That all you got Kitty, I expected more from an X-Man,” Peter antagonized, when he got no response back Peter looked behind him, only to see Kitty is no longer behind him. “Kitty,” Peter asked but got no response, he then started to walk around the park to look for his girlfriend. “Kitty, where are you?” She wouldn’t have left, would she? She didn’t seem angry. She knew that he was just messing around with her, didn’t she? Peter sighed, shit he’s gonna have to apologize for upsetting her, won’t he? Well, if he must, he must. Just as Peter started to go over what he was gonna say to Kitty as an apology, he overlooked some brown hair that was coming from the ground.Just then Kitty jumps from the ground and tackles Peter to the ground all the while shouting, “GOTCHA.”A stunned Peter lands on his back, and he looks at a smug Kitty who is currently on top of him, “What, but, what,” Peter said making Kitty laugh.“I gotcha,” Kitty gloated“What, but, that’s not fair, you used your powers,” Peter said“My powers are a natural ability of mine, it is totally fair,” Kitty explained in a matter-of-fact tone but she was smiling.“But I wasn’t prepared, I thought you were angry at me. I was preparing an apology and everything,” Peter said“Really,” Kitty asked intrigued getting a nod from Peter, “Well you’ll have to save that apology for when I am angry with you. Because I’m not angry, because, I won, I got you, I got you,” Kitty said poking Peter’s chest making him laugh.“Yeah, you got me. Now what are you gonna do with me,” Peter said as he wrapped one arm around Kitty’s waist, and then used his free hand to brush Kitty’s hair.Kitty narrowed her eyes in thought, what could she do to make him pay? She could, no she can’t do that. Maybe, no she can’t do that either. Uhh, this is harder than she thought, and Peter’s brushing his hand through her hair isn’t helping. If anything it is distracting her, she can’t help it. It just feels really good the way her brushes her hair like that. It’s very calming. Kitty narrowed her eyes at that, she then scowled at Peter, “Quit that,” she said“Quit what,” Peter asked“Quit brushing your hand through my hair,” Kitty said“Why, you don’t like it,” Peter asked with a raised eyebrow.“No, I do like it, and that’s the problem. I’m trying to think of punishments for you and you brushing my hair is distracting me,” Kitty said“Ah, but you make the cutest face when I do it,” Peter said as he continued to brush his hand through Kitty’s hair.Kitty growled as she felt Peter continue brushing his hand through her hair. Dammit that feels good, all it makes her want to do is lay down on top of Peter and enjoy it. “Quit distracting me,” Kitty pouted“Ok, fine, no more brushing your hair,” Peter said as he stopped his hand, much to Kitty’s relief, now she can think of his punishment. “I have another distraction that I can use though.”Kitty raised an eyebrow, “What othe…,” Kitty however was cut off when Peter pushed her head down, her lips meeting his as he kissed her. It took a second, but instincts took over and Kitty kissed him back. As they kissed Peter started to brush his hand down Kitty’s hair again, making her moan. Kitty then moved her hands to Peter’s hair and started to tug it which caused him to moan in response to that. Peter then moved his hand from Kitty’s waist and moved it under her jacket and up her spine, causing her to shiver in pleasure. Kitty herself soon opened her mouth and asked Peter for entrance which her gave her. They both moaned as their tongues wrestled in each other’s mouths. Peter soon moved his hand from Kitty’s spine and to the back of her neck and gave it a slight squeeze which caused Kitty a jolt of pleasure. This caused Kitty to tug Peter’s hair harder, making him moan as well.This is what the couple did together for at least ten minutes, neither was aware of anything else other than each other and what they were doing. Both enjoying it immensely, but as they continue making out Kitty can’t help but think of Bobby and how many times that she had done this with him. whether it was in his room, or her room, or even in a room that no one was in. They always made out, she’s quite sure that every day they have been together his tongue had been in her mouth once that day. Bobby was a good kisser, and it was fun when they made out, but Kitty didn’t want to have a relationship that was purely physical, she wanted emotion and support as well, and that was something Bobby couldn’t provide, so she broke up with him.Kitty then thinks about she and Peter, and how they have spent these last three days together. They were fun, she enjoyed herself, really, she did, but at least every day since their first kiss they had found themselves making out. Now don’t get her wrong, Peter Parker is an amazing kisser, seriously she could kiss him for hours and not get tired of it. But despite that, she doesn’t want to make the same mistake in this relationship that she made in her last one. With that Kitty broke the kiss, “Wait,” she said panting at the lack of air.“Something wrong,” Peter asked“We’ve been making out a lot these last three days,” Kitty said“Yeah, I suppose we have,” Peter admitted, “Is that a problem,” Peter asked as he brushed Kitty’s hair again.“Can you stop, with the hair brushing please. I really think that we need to talk about this,” Kitty said as she got off Peter and sat on the ground.“Ok, sorry” Peter said, realizing that whatever Kitty wants to talk about is serious. He himself sat up to and looked at Kitty.Kitty smiled, “Thank you,” she said, she then paused, she can’t help but expect for Peter to do something that would distract her from this serious subject just like Bobby always did. For the first time she was happy to be wrong when she looked at Peter and saw that he was looking at her waiting for her to talk. Kitty sighed, “I told you about my last boyfriend,” she said getting a nod from Peter.“A bit, you said that you broke up with him because he was immature,” Peter said getting a nod from Kitty.“He was, his name is Bobby, also known as Iceman,” Kitty said surprising Peter.“Iceman,” Peter repeated getting a nod from Kitty, “As in your teammate Iceman, as in the guy who you live with in the same mansion Iceman?”“Yup,” Kitty said“Wow, that must be awkward,” Peter said“Awkward, annoying, take your pick. Anyway, Bobby, he and I dated for three months, at first it was good, we had fun together and we had a good time. Bobby, he isn’t a terrible person, he isn’t, but when it came to our relationship, he just didn’t take it seriously, not as much as I did,” Kitty retorted“Can you elaborate on that,” Peter askedKitty sighed, “Relationships are about connecting with your significant other, it’s about emotion, and supporting each other. Bobby and I, we didn’t have that, he was more interested in the physical aspects of our relationship. I swear, every day we were making out. At first, I didn’t mind, that was when I was oblivious to the fact of what we lacked. But once I started noticing it, making out just got tiring. Our relationship was more physical than emotional, and I didn’t like that. I want a relationship where I’m gonna connect with my boyfriend, where I know that I’m gonna be supported, and they won’t be afraid to show their emotions around me. Bobby couldn’t give me that, all he wanted to do is make out and goof around, so I broke up with him, and well you know what happens next,” Kitty said getting a nod from Peter.“I do,” Peter saidKitty sighed, “We just started our relationship, and already I feel like I’m making the same mistakes that I made with Bobby,” she said“Mind telling what those mistakes are,” Peter asked curiously.“They’re not a lot of mistakes, honestly, it’s probably a mistake, and that mistake is that we just keep making out,” Kitty said“Oh, ok,” Peter said“Don’t get me wrong, I love the make out sessions,” Kitty said, she then smiled, “Really, you do not disappoint Mr. Parker.”“Well, I do try my best,” Peter retortedKitty gave another smile, then she sighed, “But, despite how fun they are, I don’t want our relationship to revolve around them. I don’t want our relationship to purely be physical, I want it to have emotion too. I want us to talk, have conversations, both serious and lighthearted. I don’t want the only thing we do together when we are together is make out. I don’t want that kind of relationship. I hope I’m making sense; I hope that you understand,” Kitty saidPeter contemplated everything that Kitty said, he then grabbed Kitty’s hand and squeezed it making her look at him. Once she looked at him Kitty saw Peter smiling at her, “Don’t worry about it Kitty, I get it, and I understand perfectly,” Peter said“You do,” Kitty asked getting a nod from Peter.“I don’t want this relationship to be purely a physical one either, everything you said Kitty, everything that you want. I want that too, I want the emption, the connection, and the support. I want it all Kitty I have no interest in making this relationship just physical. I want the whole nine yards,” Peter said“A sports metaphor, impressive,” Kitty said smiling.“I did try out for football in high school,” Peter responded“Really,” Kitty asked intrigued only to get a nod from Peter.“But listen, I do want what you want Kitty, I do. With us making out ever since our first kiss thing. I thought that would last for about a week or two and then when we got settled down as a couple then the make out sessions would certainly decrease. If I ever gave the impression that I wanted us to just have a physical relationship, then I’m sorry Kitty. I really am,” Peter saidKitty smiled at the apology, “It’s ok, really, you don’t even need to apologize, it’s not like you started every make out session between us. I made the mistake too, it’s on both of us. But I am glad that we were able to talk about this,” she said as she squeezed Peter’s hand.“So am I, and if I ever do something that you don’t like Kitty, or you feel that I’m moving too fast, then please let me know, and I promise I’ll stop,” Peter said“As long as you do the same,” Kitty said smiling.“Deal,” Peter agreed, “Can I kiss you right now? Because I really want to kiss you, but I feel like that I’m somehow going against what we just talked about if I do.”Kitty rolled her eyes and then kissed Peter on the lips for two seconds then broke it, “Idiot, the message was that I didn’t want constant make out sessions, not that you couldn’t kiss me,” she said“Oh, well in that case,” Peter said, he then surprised Kitty by pushing his hand into her back pushing her into him making her yelp, Peter then kissed her. It took a second, but Kitty kissed him back, Peter then let himself fall on his back bringing Kitty with him. They broke the kiss and laughed, Kitty then rolled herself off Peter but allowed him to pull her into him, where she is now resting her head on his chest, and Peter is running his hand through her hair, this time she lets herself enjoy it.Peter and Kitty laid there, cuddled together, their first day as an official couple certainly did wind up to be an enjoyable one.

Logan and Charles were in the astral plane informing each other on the events of their own timelines. “So, Logan, what has been going on in the past since we last spoke. Anything on the Avengers,” Charles asked“Sorry Chuck, but nothing has happened that has been out of the normal. Other than some new members, there haven’t been any actual threats that would threaten any teams. Really the only thing interesting was Webs’s breakup,” Logan informed“Webs? That was the nickname that you gave Spider-Man, yes,” Charles asked getting a nod from Logan.“Yeah, apparently before I returned, Webs girlfriend broke up with him in a bitchy way to,” Logan informed“Oh, and how has that affected Spider-Man,” Charles asked wondering if this could be an event that led to Spider-Man’s death. It is a real shame, Charles always liked Spider-Man, he was fascinating, and always seemed like he wanted to help. It is a shame that someone so young had their life taken from them so soon. How old was the boy before his coma? If he remembers correctly Logan said that the lad was seventeen when they officially joined the Avengers. That would mean that the boy was in his early twenties when he died. The age when one so young is just starting their life.“At first it got to him. Got in his head, he dated this girl for a year…scoff…still can’t believe that he dated the Black Cat,” Logan said taking Charles by surprise.“The Black Cat. The thief,” Charles asked getting a nod from Logan.“Yeah, apparently the girl who Webs was dating when I was part of the team wanted to become an actress and moved to L.A., she didn’t think that a long-distance relationship would work so she broke up with him. Later he and Black Cat worked together and the times they worked together they got close, and they fell for each other, I guess. They dated for a year and in that year Black Cat became his partner and fought crime with him. But then out of nowhere she broke up with him, and like I said, it screwed with him. I can’t tell you how many times I had to save his ass,” Logan explained“And what about now,” Charles askedLogan smirked, “He’s doing good, finally has his head straight,” he said“Oh, and how did that happen,” Charles asked“All he needed was a girl in his life, so I set him up,” Logan explained“You set him up,” Xaver exclaimed surprised at what he just heard. Logan setting someone up on a date is unheard of. Who would he set Spider-Man up with in the first place? It’s not like the man has many friends. “Who did you set him up with?”Logan smirked, “Who else? With Kitty,” he said“With Kitty? But I thought she and Bobby were together,” Charles said“Not anymore, Bobby’s immaturity finally got to her, and she broke it off. For the past month Drake has been bugging Kitty to take him back. Of course, she said no. The kid though has been frustrated with everything and I thought that Spider-Man and Kitty could help each other. So, I set them up, they’ve been together for over a week now,” Logan said“Does Kitty know who she’s dating? If I remember correctly, she has always been a huge fan of Spider-Man,” Charles said, by the look on Logan’s face he knew the answer, “She doesn’t does she?”“Not my place to tell Charles, and Kitty has to earn that right. Spider-Man has a lot to lose if he tells the wrong person,” Logan said“Yes, but I can see problems arising,” Charles said“So do I, but hopefully things will turn out alright,” Logan said getting a nod from Charles.“What about the Fantastic Four and Heroes for Hire,” Charles asked“I don’t know much of the Fantastic Four, other than Reed and Sue are taking some time off to take care of their baby, that leaves Ben with the Avengers and that hot shot Torch to do whatever the hell he wants. As for the Heroes for Hire, well I’ve only seen Danny really, he’s the only one out of him and Luke who will take the calls and not ask for payment. Last I checked, they’ve been dealing with some gang who has been harassing a neighborhood, none were superpowered,” Logan said“And the X-Men,” Charles asked“Scott seems to still be not letting Jean out of his sight. Think she’s starting to get annoyed by it, other than that they are doing well. Think Summers is planning on popping the question to her. The Elf is doing well, been kind of distracted. Pretty sure he’s thinking about the witch,” Logan said“Wanda. Has there been any contact between the X-Men and Genosha yet,” Charles askedLogan sighed, “No, not yet. The only time we got any communication was when Wanda contacted us to tell us that Magneto was cast out of Genosha, she is now running things, and we won’t have to worry about any attacks from them. They’re probably still rebuilding,” he said“And what of the others,” Charles said“Hank has been focusing on his research, writing some paper or something, I have Forge upgrading the inhibitor collar, so there won’t be any side-affects if worn too long. Kitty, well I already told you what’s going on with her, I swear ever since she got together with Spider-Man there has been a bounce in her step. I also was able to get her to agree to let me train her again,” Logan said“Really,” Charles asked getting a nod from Logan.“It was part of the bet, she goes on a date with Spider-Man, and if she doesn’t like it, I will do whatever she wants me to do, but if she likes it then she trains with me for two weeks,” Logan said“And how is she doing,” Charles askedLogan sighed, “She needs work, she gone soft during these two years. Can barely do the exercise she did two years ago. I’m really gonna have to work her hard to get her back in shape,” he said causing Charles to smile.“Only you Logan would call the shape Kitty is in out of shape,” Charles commented making Logan shrug.“Rogue has been doing good, I haven’t seen any problems with her. She seems to have taken the girl, Tildie as a little sister, both she and Kitty. Ororo, she has been talking to me about opening the school again. Says that this needs to be more than our headquarters. You made the institute to be a school,” Logan said“I did, the institute’s primary focus was to be a school for young mutants to learn how to control their powers so they could go into society and live their lives,” Charles said“I know Chuck, but is that such a good idea, we’re trying to prevent an apocalypse, shouldn’t our focus be on that,” Logan said“I know what you mean Logan, but right now there is no school to teach young mutants about their powers, about morals, and if there is no one to teach them then they may misuse them, and people may get hurt,” Charles said“I know, but how can we do both? It’s not like any of us are certified teachers,” Logan said“One step at a time Logan, first start with just teaching mutants how to use their powers, we can get into the academics later,” Charles said“I’m not a teacher Chuck,” Logan said“I don’t know, you did a good job with Kitty,” Charles said smiling.“Yeah, look how that turned out,” Logan said sighing.Charles walked over to Logan and rested a hand on his shoulder, “She’ll forgive you Logan, I know she will,” Charles saidLogan sighed, “I don’t know about that Chuck, she’s so guarded with me, and refuses to be in the same room. She isn’t rude or hostile, but in her eyes, I can see anger, betrayal, and sadness. I caused that Chuck. I hurt the two girls who I think of my daughters. The only two reasons why I returned to the institute, and I hurt them. I was lucky to gain Rogues forgiveness, but I don’t think I’ll ever gain Kitty’s,” he said“You mustn’t give up Logan, she will forgive you, just like Rogue did” Charles said“Oh, yeah, and why do you say that,” Logan saidCharles smiled, “Because no matter how angry they get, a father will always have his daughter’s love. She may not show it, but she still loves you Logan, you’re still the closest thing to a father that she has. I don’t think I have to tell you how her parents have been like since they discovered that she was a mutant and came to the school. If you really love Kitty, and I know you do, you’ll keep trying. Isn’t that the real reason why you’re training her,” Charles asked making Logan chuckle.“Can’t get anything past you can I,” Logan said“Not at the least my friend. Now what of Bobby,” Charles asked continuing on the conversation.“Drake’s been moping since he and Kitty’s break up, and like I said before he’s been trying to convince Kitty to take him back. Though for the past two days, he’s been especially mopey and angry,” Logan said getting a nod from Charles.“You should probably talk to him about it,” Charles offered“No need, I have a feeling I know why he’s like that. What about you Chuck, any news on the front,” Logan said getting a sigh from Xavier, “Nothing heh.”“There are a lot of events that happen in the next four years, big events. Some of these events could be the cause or even helped Apocalypse rising. Until I’m sure I don’t feel comfortable telling. I don’t want to send you in the wrong direction,” Charles said“Can you tell me anyway, knowing these events, we could save a lot of lives,” Logan said“Normally, I’d agree with you, but I’ve been gaining some warnings about being careful how much information I give you. I’m sorry old friend but for now I can only give you the information that I am sure of,” Charles said getting a sigh from Logan.“Alright, Chuck, I’ll drop it for now. But if I think that you withholding information will get any of my teammates both X-Men and Avengers killed, I want answers,” Logan said“Of course,” Charles saidLogan sighed, “I gotta go Chuck, got training with the half-pint,” he said making Charles smile.“Of course, do try not to kill her Logan. I remember how you first started training her,” Charles said but he was smiling, despite how grueling the training was, he can’t argue with the results it got.“Don’t worry Chuck, I’m only giving her what I gave her two years ago,” Logan said“That’s what I’m afraid of,” Charles said all he got from Logan was a smirk and Charles smiled back, there is then a white flash.
Xavier Institute, 20 years in the future
Charles takes off his helmet and opens his eyes, “Good luck Logan,” he said, Charles then got up and walked out of the room. He entered the corridors of the underground base, and walked through the hall until he got to the elevator that took him up to the institute itself. The elevator closed and Charles feels it moving up, it isn’t long until the elevator opens and Charles steps into one of the many rooms of the institute. He then continues out the room and into the hall. As he walked down the hallway two teenagers walked past him.“Hello Professor,” the teenagers greeted“Hello children,” Xavier greeted back as he then entered the foyer, after such a meeting with Logan, Charles could really use a break. With that Charles decides to head outside. He heads to the door, opens it, and exits the mansion, closing the door behind him. Once outside Charles is greeted by the sight of some children just hanging out, some tossing football, while others are just relaxing, seeing this Xavier smile. They may have stopped one apocalypse and entered another, but at least the institute is taking in children again and teaching, it is not some base for the X-Men. It is what is meant to be a safe haven, a home. Charles then started to walk down the path watching the students, seeing them play. As he walks the students’ wave and greet him. Once at the gate Charles decides to cut through the grass and walk more of the grounds. As he makes his way around the mansion Charles enjoys the greenery that surrounds him. In some ways this apocalypse is better than the last one. At least nothing is destroyed or desolated, and Charles is thankful for that.As he walked Charles comes across one of the porches and sees three teenagers, two boys and one girl just sitting down on the chairs, seemingly doing homework. Charles smiles at that. He takes some time walking around the grounds more, this is something he likes to do, after the future Master Mold created, Charles has learned to truly appreciate the beauty that is this world or at least is his institute. After some time walking around the grounds, Charles decides to return to the mansion and explore more. The truth is, in his three months of living in this future, Charles has yet to explore all his mansion. Things are different Charles is sure of that, and he wants to know what these differences are. However, he has not been able to find the time.Charles makes his way back to the front and enters the mansion, he supposes he can start with the rooms, he hasn’t seen all of them, and he knows just the rooms to start with. With that Charles goes upstairs and enters the halls again. As he walked through the halls and looked at the doors he saw nameplates next to each door, signifying whose room it belongs to. The first door he stops at, the nameplate said Hank McCoy, seeing the name Charles smiles and enters the room. Hank’s room is exactly how Charles remembers it, a desk with a bunch of research papers on it, a bar where Hank would hang upside down while he reads or took notes. Charles always found it fascinating how he did that. There was a bookshelf that had a ton of books on it. Charles picked up one of the books from the shelf and looked at the cover, it was Hamlet. Charles smiled, “You always did like to read Henry, always quoting one book or another,” Charles said, he opened the book, and once again smiled as he saw annotations and underlines on practically each page. After taking some time to read a few passages, Charles puts the book back on the shelf. He then heads to a nightstand and sees two pictures, one was of Hank with the original X-Men, right before Hank’s mutation advanced and turned him animal like, and the next was of Hank with Logan, Kitty, Bobby, Kurt, Rogue, Storm, Scott, and Jean all of them were wearing their uniforms, all of them either smirking or smiling. Charles smiled at the pictures, his mind wandering back to the past. He sighed, Charles then stood up and walked out of the room.Charles next stop was Ororo’s room, he entered the room and saw that it had three plants, all three in front of the window where the sunlight would get them, next to the plants was a watering can so she could water them. Xavier remembers how every morning since she first arrived, Ororo would take care of the plants in the institute garden, she later got her own plants. He remembers when someone asked Storm why she seems to be taking care of the plants all the time. Wasn’t it a burden? Xavier will never forget Storm’s answer.
“No, it isn’t a burden, not at all, I like taking care of the plants, because even though people forget, plants are living to, and they need someone to take care of them so instead of dying, they can thrive,” memory Ororo explained
Xavier walked to the closet and opened the door, in the closet he can see some of her outfits along with her Storm uniform, from past to present, he wasn’t aware she kept them all. Xavier closes the door and takes a look at the nightstand next to the bed, there is a picture of Ororo with a man, Charles is pretty sure he knows who that man is and can’t help but smile. He then sets the picture down and then leaves the room.Next was Rogue, he entered the room and saw that she really didn’t make any changes to it, a poster of two were hanging on the walls, she had a double bed with a dark green colored comforter, pillows were white, he saw a dresser and walked up to it, he saw a picture and picked it up, he smiled at seeing Rogue with a man, their arms wrapped around each other. He is happy that she found someone. Xavier then placed the picture back and looked more around the room. There was a desk with a lamp, he saw a closet next to a bed, Xavier decided to check the closet and just like last time he saw outfits along with Rogue’s uniforms. Charles couldn’t help but smile. After that he left the room in search for another one.His next stop was Scott and Jean’s room, their plaque said Summers. Charles smiled, so they really did get married, Xavier opened the door and entered the room, once there, immediately he saw a beige carpet, white walls, a dresser next to the door, there was another dresser across the room, next to it is a desk, there is a queen sized bed, it’s backboard against the wall, night stands on both sides of the bed with little lamps on them, a closet to the left of the bed. Xavier went to the dresser that was next to it and saw some pictures, his eyes immediately saw the wedding picture, right next to that picture was another picture of Jean in a bed holding a baby looking at it softly and Scott crouching next to the bed smiling at Jean and the baby. Xavier walked over to the other dresser and saw another picture, this picture had two children, about two years old. One child is a redheaded girl while the other child is of a boy with brown hair. The was another picture that had Scott, Jean, and the children together with Scott and Jean sitting down on the couch while the children are on their laps, the girl sitting on Scott’s lap while the boy sat on Jean’s lap, the four were smiling at the camera. Charles has to say that the picture looked great, it really caught the happiness and love that the family shared. Whoever took this picture should be proud. Charles looked at the desk, unlike some of the desks he’s see, this one has pictures on it. All sorts of pictures that seems to give a timeline of the family. Charles smiled at that, he’s happy for Scott and Jean. Charles looked around the room some more, just like the last few rooms Charles looked in the closet and saw variations of Cyclops and Jean’s uniforms. After that Xavier decided that it was time to leave, and so he turned around, walked to the door, and exited the room. Now off to see the next room.Xavier stopped to where Kitty’s room should be, however when he looked, he saw no nameplate which gained a look of confusion from him. He couldn’t help wondering why her nameplate was no longer there. Opening the door, Xavier entered the room and saw that it had beige carpeted floor, the walls and ceiling are purple, there is a double bed, a nightstand to the right of the bed with a lamp, to the left of the bed is a closet, an oak dresser across the bed on the other side of the room. “So, Kitty, you finally got to personalize your room,” he said, Charles then chuckled, “How long did it take you to convince Logan of that? Knowing you, you probably did it behind his back.” Charles remembers when Kitty first came to the institute, she wasn’t big on her room and asked if she could change it. They initially said yes. They wanted her to make it her room, to fit her personality, the institute was her home now. It was only later did they realize how far Kitty was going to go to personalize her room. Once they saw the paint buckets, they shut it down. They were ok with posters, pictures, choosing their own bed spread, even some small furniture, like a bean bag chair. But they were not gonna let Kitty repaint her room. She pouted and whined for quite a while it was only when she realized that was getting her nowhere was when she stopped.Xavier stepped further into the room and walked around, there was nothing in it, no personal possessions of Kitty’s, the only thing that really shows that this was her room was the paint, this was always the shade of purple that she liked. Charles opened the closet and looked inside, wondering if any leftover costumes were in there, but found none. After a look in the closet Charles looked more around the room, trying to find an inkling of the young, energetic, determined, and mouthy 13-year-old girl who he had the pleasure of getting to know.“You’re not gonna find anything here Chuck,” a voice said stopping Charles, and making him look only to see Logan wearing a pair of jeans, white shirt, brown leather jacket, and black shoes, standing at the doorway. “This room has been empty longer than the other rooms.”“What happened,” Charles asked“Kid moved out,” Logan said surprising Charles.“Moved out. How? Why,” Charles asked“During one of the times this place was destroyed, Kitty stayed with her boyfriend,” Logan said“Boyfriend? Spider-Man,” Charles asked getting a smirk from Logan.“So, you know, heh,” Logan asked getting a nod from Charles.“Your past self told me, he set them up apparently,” Charles said“You’re right, I did, Parker and Kitty were both down due to their failed love lives. Both were ready to give up on love, I couldn’t let that happen. Not to those two, so I set them up,” Logan said“Parker,” Charles asked“Peter Parker doesn’t really matter whether you know who he is or not now. Nothing can happen now, anyone who could have used that knowledge for ill means are dead,” Logan said“Peter Parker, that name sounds familiar,” Charles said“It should, he was a photographer for the Daily Bugle, took pictures of Spider-Man,” Logan said“He took pictures of himself,” Xavier said getting a shrug from Logan.“He had to make money somehow,” Logan said“So, Kitty stayed with Peter then,” Xavier said getting a nod from Logan, “Did she…”“Know that her boyfriend was Spider-Man? Yeah, she knew, the way she found out wasn’t very ideal though. Anyway, while the X-Men stayed with the Avengers, Kitty stayed with Parker. When the institute was rebuilt, Parker had asked Kitty to move in with him. It took some thinking on her part, but she agreed. They found themselves a place that was between New York and Salem,” Logan saidCharles smiled, “Did she ever stay at the institute,” Charles asked“Every once in a while, normally when she stayed it was because that she had to, given the choice she always went back to Webs. Other times when she stayed, she brought Webs with her, at first, they used this room, but then the half-pint got the idea that they needed a bigger room, and so she moved them in one of the bigger rooms,” Logan said he then gestured for Charles to follow him, “Come on,” Logan then walked out of the room followed by Charles.Logan and Charles walked down the hallways for a bit making the occasional turn, finally after one more turn, the two stopped in front of a door, Charles took a look at the nameplate that said Parker, “Parker,” Charles said“Come on,” Logan said as he opened the door and entered the room, Charles following behind. Once in the room Charles looked around and saw that the room was painted dark teal, the carpet was tan, there was a queen-size bed with its headboard against the wall, it had white covers laid on it, and four pillows, two stacked on each other on both sides of the bed with white pillowcases. There were two dressers both made of oak but were different styles. There was a desk with a desk lamp on it in front of the window which one looked out they could see the backyard of the institute. On both sides of the bed were nightstands with lamps on them, and finally there was a closet. “So, what do you think,” Logan asked as he watched Charles travel.“I think that this room is nicely decorated, I’m quite surprised with the colors, I always imagined Kitty painting every room she stayed in purple,” Charles said making Logan smirk.“Yeah, well Webs didn’t exactly want to be entering a room and see purple all over. He could deal with it when it was just her room, but considering it was gonna be their room, he wanted a different color. I will never forget the half-pint coming in with a color pallet, she and Webs actually went to the room and discussed what colors they do and don’t want to use,” Logan said“They loved each other,” Charles stated getting a nod from Logan.“More than any of us knew, I had thought those two would work if I set them up. Soulmates I told Janet, that’s what they were. Oh, how right I was,” Logan said as he smiled.Charles walked up to Kitty’s dresser and saw many pictures on it. One picture caught his eye, in this picture were both Peter and Kitty who looked to be in their 20s, Peter was wearing a black suite, a white buttoned undershirt with a black bowtie. Kitty herself was wearing a "Gwyneth" vintage style wedding dress with pearl Swarovski beading. Peter had his arm wrapped around Kitty’s waist and she was holding her flowers, Charles could see that Kitty was wearing a veil, but it was pulled back. Charles looked at the picture for some time, he still can’t believe what he is seeing. He is currently looking at a picture of Kitty’s wedding day, ‘She looks so happy,’ Charles thought as he saw the smile on Kitty’s face, he’s never seen a smile so bright and filled with happiness. Footsteps then approach Charles and stops right next to him.“She looks beautiful, doesn’t she,” Logan said as he looked at the picture.“She does, truly beautiful,” Charles said“You should have seen her in person. It’s funny I had a front row seat watching this girl grow up. Never thought of myself as sentimental, but when I saw Kitty in her wedding dress getting ready to walk down the aisle with a nervous and excited look on her face. It finally hit me that she had grown up, the half-pint wasn’t a half-pint anymore, the kid wasn’t a kid anymore. She was an adult, a grown woman who was just starting her life, and as I looked at her and thought of everything that she’s done, not just as Shadowcat, hero, and X-Man, but as Kitty Pryde. I couldn’t help but feel proud of her, truth is I didn’t want to let her go, to give her away to Parker. I wanted to keep her with me, but I knew that I couldn’t, I knew that I had done my job. I had taught her everything that I knew, I had made sure that she was better than me in every way. She was ready, even though I didn’t like it, she was ready to leave and go with someone else. I’m just glad that someone was Peter,” Logan said“She was happy,” Charles asked“Very, they did a lot of things while married,” Logan said, he then chuckled.I haven’t seen, is she even here,” Charles asked all he got was silence from Logan, Charles didn’t like the silence it made him fear for Kitty, “Logan, she didn’t…”“She’s not dead Chuck, but she’s not involved in any of this anymore. Let’s leave it at that for now,” Logan said getting a reluctant nod from Charles, he wanted to know more about Kitty. See where she is, Kitty isn’t talked about much, not like the rest of his fallen students. He would really like to know if she is alive, perhaps he could see her again, and catch up. He hasn’t done that much. Perhaps he can ask how her life is going, maybe have Kitty tell him a story or two, whether it be past or present. He wonders if she and Peter have had any children. Maybe she can tell him about them or even Peter. It would be nice to talk about something like that that isn’t so depressing. Xavier decided to drop this subject for now.“Sorry to cut this short, but I came looking for you for a reason,” Logan said getting Charles attention, “We’re having a meeting, it’s strategy time.”“Let’s go,” Charles saidWith that the two left the Parker room and headed to the war room. It took some minutes, but they were finally able to make it to the war room and entered the room. Once they enter Charles looks around and sees some familiar faces, he sees Bobby and Kurt both looking older, that tends to happen when twenty years pass. There were also some new faces to, such as Gambit, a blond girl must be in her late 20s, early thirties, she has black body armor and is carrying come kind of sword, there is also a redheaded woman who is in her early 20s and has a remarkable resemblance to Jean except the girl’s hair is in a crew cut. There was also some of the crew that Xavier has spent months within the Master Mold future, there is Bishop, Vanisher, and Domino.“Alright, gather up, I have the professor,” Logan said“Took you long enough. What took so long,” Bobby asked“That would be my fault, I was exploring the mansion some more, and I decided to go down memory lane,” Charles excused, the others in the room immediately got it and couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the man, and even themselves. Some knew the X-Men who passed, they were friends with them, and others heard stories.“This everyone,” Logan asked as he saw that there were some people missing.“Everyone else are on mission,” Bishop informed getting a nod from Logan.“So, I must ask, what is this meeting for,” Charles asked“Well, that’s simple Charles,” a familiar voice said getting Charles’s attention. A man then steps up, from the group, this man has short grey hair, blue eyes, he is wearing a red armor and cape, his signature red helmet in his hands. Eric Lehnsherr also known as Magneto looked at Charles, “We’re here to talk about how to prevent this future.”“I didn’t think that we had any leads on that Eric,” Charles said“Originally we didn’t,” Eric said“But now we do. We’ve been doing this wrong, so far, we’ve been focusing on Apocalypse himself,” Logan said as he walked up to Eric and stood next to him.“When really, we should be focusing on his followers, figure out when they joined Apocalypse and how. What did he promise them, did he even promise anything or did they join out of fear,” Eric said“We’ll still be focusing on what event Apocalypse used to come to power,” Bishop said“But right now, zis is zee best vee can do,” Kurt said“Take away his troops, get rid of his army,” Gambit said“Ok, so who do we start on first,” Charles askedLogan, Bobby, and Kurt all looked at each other then at Xavier, “I have an idea,” Logan said

On an ordinary night, the sewers were dark and quiet, one of the only signs of life that people are aware of are rats. One rat is scurrying in the water minding its own business when it had to run out of the way or be crushed by a foot, the owner of the foot not paying attention of what they almost killed, they were too busy running for their life. The person who was running for their life was a 5’5 tall girl, with red hair, caucasian skin, brown eyes, she was wearing jeans that had some rips on it, a red t-shirt, and black shoes. This girl was a mutant, and she was currently being chased. As she ran the girl heard what sounded like a whistling sound behind her. Looking behind her the girl sees nothing, nothing but darkness. Just then metal projectiles shoot from the darkness and head straight toward the girl. Screaming, the girl jumped to the side falling in the water, just barely dodging the projectiles. As she gets up, the girl notices that it is quiet now as if nothing was chasing her in the first place. The only proof is the projectiles which look like metal feathers.The girl is still weary, she knows better than to let her guard down when she isn’t with her group, especially with someone who was trying to kill her. After another minute of silence, the girl starts to feel a semblance of safety, thinking that perhaps he left thinking that she was dead. She was proven wrong when a blur comes out of the shadows and speeds straight to her, the girl didn’t even have time to move when she was kicked in the chest, the force so great that she was sent ten feet to the ground. The girl groaned at the pain that she is feeling right now. Slowly and painfully the girl gets up and looks to see her assailant which is none other than Warren Worthington, once known as the X-Man Angel, now reborn as Archangel. He now wears a blue suit with dark pink accents, his adamantium wings sticking out of his back, the only thing visible is his face with his blonde eyebrows, pupilless eyes, and blue skin making him look like something out of a nightmare. “You will be coming with me now,” Archangel said as he walked toward the girl.“Stay back,” the girl said, but Archangel didn’t listen to her instead he ran toward her at a fast speed. Panicking, the girl got ready to thrust her hands out at Warren, one touch and it would be over.Just as Archangel was right in front of her, the girl thrust her hands toward his chest getting ready to do damage when something got in the way, it was Archangel’s wing that the girl’s hand was touching, and as it was touching it smoke could be seen coming from it, however despite that Archangel showed no signs of pain which surprised the girl. Then before she could move Archangel hit her with his wings sending her flying and crashing against the wall, knocked out. Seeing this Archangel walked up to the girl, picked her up, and then he flew off.
Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 9:00 am, New York, Salem Center, Xavier Institute
Kitty is in the dining room, sitting at the table eating her breakfast which consists of two sunny side up eggs, two slices of white bread, and a coffee with two sugars and cream. She isn’t alone at the table though, with her are her two best friends, Rogue, and Kurt, who might as well be her sister and brother respectively. Rogue is eating some scrambled eggs with bacon with black coffee, one of the things that Rogue inherited from Logan that Kitty didn’t was the taste for black coffee. Kurt decided to go simple with a bowl of cereal with a coffee that has three sugars, and some blueberry blend which Kitty totally finds cliché. Jean, who opted for some scrambled eggs, and a coffee with some creamer, and two sugars, Scott who has some scrambled eggs, two slices of toast, and black coffee, one of the things that he has in common with Logan which neither will admit. Hank is just reading a paper while drinking some coffee, same kind as her and Jean, Ororo who has some hashbrowns, and a coffee, same as them. Then there is Forge who is having a bowl of cereal with some coffee that has creamer, and four sugars, and finally there is the youngest of the institute, Tildie who decided to have some dunk eggs with orange juice, she isn’t allowed to have coffee not until she is older, there was a meeting and everyone excluding Tildie herself agreed no coffee. The only two who weren’t present were Logan and Bobby. Logan right now was in the danger room having one of his work outs, and Bobby well his excuse isn’t as good as Logan’s, Bobby is still in bed sleeping.The group were all eating in silence, well the X-Men were, Tildie was still asking questions which the group would answer to sate her curiosity, Tildie was still surprised and amazed at everything around her. Kitty could understand, it takes everyone a few months to get used to everything.“Why is everyone so quiet,” Tildie decided to ask“Vat vould you like to talk about,” Kurt asked“I don’t know,” Tildie answered shrugging her shoulders, “How has everyone been?”Rogue shrugged her shoulders, “Well considering we’re not being hunted by the MRD, pretty well,” she said“I’m doing vell as vell, pranked Bobby not too long ago,” Kurt said smirking at what he has done to the ice mutant, “It should be happening about now.”Tildie looked at Kitty, “What about you Kitty,” she asked the brunette.“Hm, tired, in pain, pissed, and happy,” Kitty answered.“That’s quite the mix,” Ororo said“Let me guess, the tired and in pain is because of Logan’s training,” Rogue saidKitty nodded, “He is not holding back. I forgot what it was like to train with him. My bruises have bruises,” she said getting sympathetic smiles from the group, of course some of them wonder why Kitty is training with Logan again since it has been years since they trained together.“The pissed is because of Bobby,” Rogue said“He just keeps on bugging me, but now he is not only trying to get me to take him back, but now he is complaining,” Kitty said sighing“And the final one is…,” Rogue said but was interrupted by the ice mutant himself who came walking in the dining room, getting everyone’s attention.Just as Bobby walked into the dining room, not in the least in a good mood, due to the way he was woken up, his alarm kept going off and no matter how many times he pressed the snooze or off switch it didn’t work. Finally, it stopped when he threw it against the wall, breaking it. He is gonna have to get a new clock. He’s still not sure who won, him or the clock, the clock is now against the wall in pieces, but he was up and unable to go to sleep. He knows that this was no coincidence, oh no this was a prank, and he will get his revenge. He immediately sees that everyone was looking at him quite surprised. As he looked around, his eyes then landed on Kitty, and he scowled remembering what she told him over a week ago.Kitty, seeing Bobby’s scowl, ignored it and turned back to her food to continue eating. Seeing this Bobby scowled again about how dismissive she is of him, he then turned and walked toward the kitchen to get something to eat. Minutes later, Bobby walked into the dining room with a bowl of Applejacks in hand, he sat himself at the table across from Kitty, much to her dismay. She could move, but she decided not to be that way, and continued with her breakfast. If she doesn’t talk to him, hopefully he’ll take the hint and not talk to her. Bobby started to eat but every few minutes he would glance/glare at Kitty, upset with her.Since restarting her training with Logan, one of the things that he made sure to retrain in Kitty was being more aware of her surroundings which is how she knew that Bobby was glaring at her. That and he had been this way since she told him about her boyfriend. The guy acts like she had betrayed him or something, she didn’t, she’s allowed to move on, and she is doing that with Peter.As he continued to glare at Kitty, eventually Bobby gained the attention of Tildie, she noticed him glaring at the girl who is practically her older sister and didn’t like it, “What’s with you Bobby,” Tildie said, she can’t help but wonder if it’s because Kitty broke up with him. Maybe his desperate begging to take him back has turned to anger which is stupid considering it was his own fault, Bobby had the breakup coming. Just like everyone else, Tildie didn’t like what Kitty and Bobby’s relationship entailed. It always seemed like Bobby wanted Kitty for her physical characteristics and nothing else. Tildie didn’t like this, especially when she noticed how unhappy Kitty was. Because of this, Tildie doesn’t like Bobby, there were times when she wanted to use her mutant powers to crush Bobby, but she didn’t she doesn’t have enough control for that. Tildie really was relieved to find out about the breakup, she knew it was coming, Kitty had more self-respect than continuing with her and Bobby’s relationship.Bobby looked at Tildie, “What’s up with me? I’ll tell you…,” he said, Bobby then turned to Kitty, “I can’t believe that you got a boyfriend,” Bobby said, voicing his displeasure.“WHAT,” the table minus Rogue, and Kitty exclaimed in surprise.“Kitty, is this true? You have a boyfriend,” Jean asked, it was obvious who Bobby was talking to considering his eyes hadn’t left Kitty, they never really do these says, even though she broke up with him.At hearing the question and seeing everyone’s attention on her, Kitty blushed, “Uh, yeah, I do have a boyfriend,” she said, this isn’t how she pictured telling everyone that she was dating Peter, she figured that she would wait a month till she told them then she could bring him over and introduce everyone.“How long have you been together,” Scott asked“Well, our first date was March 29, so twelve days, we added titles on the 31st, so been dating twelve days, and became official for nine. Heh, now that I think of it, I wonder when our anniversary should be, 29th or 31st,” Kitty said looking up in thought.“I think it should be the 31st to be honest, the 31st is when you two decided that you were exclusive only to each other,” Rogue saidKitty nodded, “You’re right, alright the 31st, I’ll be sure to tell Peter that when we next talk,” she said smiling at the prospect of talking to her boyfriend.“So, his name is Peter,” Ororo said getting a nod from Kitty.“Peter Parker,” Kitty said“And how old is he,” Jean asked, remembering Kitty’s attraction to older men, Piotr, Wisdom, Bobby.“He turned 19 last August. He’s only nine months older than me,” Kitty said“Hmm,” Kurt hummed which got Kitty’s attention.“What,” Kitty asked“An older man, and his name is Peter,” Kurt noted, he then smirked that smirk that tells Kitty that she is in for a world of teasing in the future, “Am I sensing a pattern here Kitty?”Kitty scowled at her friend, and at everyone in the room who was smirking and even chuckling, all except for Tildie who doesn’t know her past relationships, and Bobby for the obvious reason. “No, there is no pattern,” she said“How did you meet,” Hank decided to ask.“Who cares how they met,” Bobby said getting everyone’s attention, “How could you get a boyfriend,” he asked, directing his question at Kitty.Kitty glared at Bobby, “Why wouldn’t I get a boyfriend, last time I checked Bobby, we broke up over a month ago, and I was single. I have every right to get a boyfriend if I wanted one, and you know what, I did want one, and I got one. SO, GET OVER IT,” she saidThe atmosphere was tense, everyone could feel it. It was always like this now when Kitty and Bobby were in the room together, not that it is Kitty’s fault. It is Bobby who always starts everything. Deciding to try and break the tension Forge decided to ask a question, probably not the best question to ask but he was curious, “So how did you and Peter meet,” Forge askedBreaking her glare, Kitty looked toward Forge, “We were set up on a date,” Kitty answered“Who set you two up,” Ororo asked, curious on who would set Kitty up on a date.“Believe it or not, it was…,” Kitty said but was once again interrupted.“Me,” Logan said as he entered the dining room in his usual attire.Everyone in the room excluding Kitty and Rogue looked at Logan in surprise, “I’m sorry, but what did Logan just say,” Forge asked not believing at all at what he heard.“You heard me Forge, I’m the one who set up the date,” Logan said“You’re serious,” Hank said“WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT,” Bobby said, standing up from his chair making it fall to the ground, completely forgetting who he is talking to.“I had two teenagers who were depressed that their love lives weren’t working out. Figure I’d fix that before it became a problem,” Logan said“And you didn’t think about helping us get back together,” Bobby said pissed making Kitty frown, it wouldn’t matter what Logan would do, what anyone would do, she had no interest in being with Bobby.“Here’s the thing Drake, after two weeks of watching you two date,” Logan said motioning toward Bobby and Kitty, “I wanted to gut you, every single day I wanted to gut you. The only reason why I didn’t is because the X-Men stopped me. You don’t believe me ask them,” Logan said, Bobby looked back at the X-Men, and they all nodded at him. There were a lot of times where they had to play interference between Logan and Bobby, and they barely succeeded. Honestly Bobby is lucky to be alive right now. After seeing the nods Bobby can’t help but feel grateful toward his teammates. He then looked at Logan, but wished he didn’t because of the death glare. “You didn’t treat her right Drake, you didn’t appreciate her for who she was, the only thing you were interested in was her body,” Logan said, an edge entering his voice and his claws coming out as he remembered when Kitty told him how Bobby tried to pressure her into sex. The ice cube is lucky to be alive right now.Kitty herself blushed at Logan mentioning her body, feeling embarrassment rush through her, she also can’t help but feel anger too because she certainly remembered the times where he attempted sex and even tried to convince her, she doesn’t know how many times. Another emotion she feels is smugness as she looks at the terrified face that Bobby is showing when he saw Logan’s claws, it’s always fun to see Logan scare people. The final emotions are gratitude and happiness at the fact that she now has a considerate boyfriend, sure the guy tends to be late a lot and has given her the lamest excuses ever, but Peter is considerate, and she can see that he cares for her. Besides, despite his lateness, he does show up and makes sure to do something a little extra to make up for it. But Kitty can also feel another emotion, it’s one that is foreign but at the same time familiar to her, she can’t name it. All she can say is that it scares her, but at the same time makes her feel giddy inside.With Logan and Bobby, Logan was still giving the ice mutant a good dressing down, “One of the smartest things that Kitty has done is breakup with you Drake. She deserves better, anyone here can tell you that,” Logan said“And you think this Peter guy is better than me,” Bobby said getting a smirk from Logan.“Much better than you ice cube, I’ve known Parker for two years, the kid is smart, reliable, responsible, he has a good head on his shoulders, and unlike you he has a future,” Logan said really bashing into Bobby’s ego, well what did he expect you go against the Wolverine he isn’t gonna pull his punches, and he certainly isn’t pulling them against Bobby. Some of the X-Men can’t help but feel bad for the kid, some even think about stepping in, but looking at Logan’s face, not even Scott who won’t hesitate to call Logan out will intervene. “You don’t believe me, I suggest you ask the Avengers, Spider-Man, or even Kitty herself.” Logan then looked at Kitty causing Bobby and everyone else to look at her.Kitty sighed, “No comment,” she said“Well, there you have it,” Logan said smirking at Bobby, “Give it up Drake, you’ll never have a serious girlfriend if you stay the way you are, least of all Half-Pint.” With that Logan switched his gaze toward Kitty, “Eat your breakfast, get changed, then come down to the danger room for training,” Logan instructed getting a groan from Kitty, “Quit your whining, we’re not doing any programs today, we’re doing a different type of training, something that you’ll like.”“I doubt it. What’s the training today,” Kitty asked getting a smirk from Logan who then tossed a black object to her. Kitty caught it easily, and once she looked at it, her eyes widened, and her dread turned to excitement. She then looked at Logan, “Really?!”Logan smirked then nodded, “After breakfast, get change, your uniform is in your room, then get down to the danger room for training,” he said, with that Logan walked out of the dining room.Filled with excitement at the training that she will be doing, Kitty immediately digs into her breakfast eating as fast as she can, not even caring that she may be making a mess. After she drank the last of her coffee, Kitty stood up, picked up her empty dishes, headed to the kitchen to place in the sink, she then ran back into the dining room, and picked up the black object. “I’ll see ya guys later, gotta get ready for training,” Kitty said as she then ran out of the dining room and headed up the stairs to her room.Once at her room, Kitty opened the door and entered her room, once she looked inside Kitty saw a familiar outfit lying on her bed. Walking up to her bed, Kitty looks at the gray clothing, she then picks it up, and she can’t help but smile at all the memories that rush through her, she then puts on the uniform.
Later, in the Danger Room
The doors slide open, and Kitty enters the training area. Once she entered the danger room Kitty’s eyes immediately land on Logan, “Bout time you got here,” Logan said“Hey, I didn’t take that long,” Kitty retortedLogan who was wearing his samurai outfit with his sword sheathed on his hip, and another sword in his hand smirked, “Yeah you did. You were probably looking yourself in the mirror. Weren’t you,” he saidKitty, whose hair is in a low ponytail, and is wearing an identical uniform to Logan blushed at the accusation, “Are you kidding, I don’t do that stuff anymore,” she said, completely lying through her teeth, because that is exactly what she was doing. But there is no way that she is telling Logan that, though due to his smirk she can tell he knows that she’s lying which really irks her that he still knows her enough to tell when she is lying.“Whatever you say Half-Pint,” Logan said, he then tossed Kitty the sword that he was holding, it flipped in the air a few times until Kitty caught it by the handle and sheathed it in her sheath that is on her hip as well. “We’ll see what it is that you remember and what you forgot with a spar.”“You’ll be surprised with how much I remember,” Kitty said as she sent Logan a smirk.“Arrogance is the enemy, it clouds the judgement, and a samurai must have clarity or it becomes the reason for one’s downfall,” Logan said seriously.Kitty knows not to do anything childish like roll her eyes this time. Logan was always serious when it came to her samurai training, and he expected the same seriousness from her. Right now, she is to give Logan the respect that a samurai deserves, and he will give her the respect that she deserves as well. Logan is serious and so is Kitty, this type of training they both take with the same seriousness. Right now, neither of them are X-Men, they are not Wolverine and Shadowcat, or mutants, right now they are teacher and student. With that in mind Kitty wipes off her smirk and shifts her face into a serious and determined look.Moving in synchronization, Logan, and Kitty bow to each other in show of respect, they then look at each other, grasp the handles of their blades, and charge each other. Once they are close enough, they sheath their blades and clash them, metal hitting metal. The two were at a deadlock, Logan was looking at Kitty, but Kitty had already made a mistake, “Sloppy,” Logan said pushing Kitty away making her stumble backwards, “Always be looking at your opponent, never your weapon,” Logan advised, he then ran toward Kitty and slashed his sword down, but Kitty blocked the sword with her own, growling, after that she was just able to push Logan off making him back off. With some distance between them the two got in their stances and charged each other again. What neither realizes is that they were being watched.
Sinister’s Lair, Unknown Location
Mr. Sinister is shown walking through a hallway, currently heading to his destination which is his lab. Just last night, Archangel brought in a new recruit, and a new test subject for him. From what he had gathered this mutant had acid touch, oh there are so many things that he could do with this mutant. Just before, Sinister could think what he could do, a figure appears in front of him, stopping him, “Master Apocalypse,” Sinister greeted“Sinister,” Apocalypse said“What do I owe the pleasure,” Sinister said“Just came to remind you Sinister what this mutant is really for,” Apocalypse said“I haven’t forgotten, but you also said I could experiment on them, see how mutants get their powers, and if we can make more,” Sinister counter“I’m very aware of what I said Sinister, but I also said that if you want the detailed information then you experiment on the weak. Just like natural selection, only the strongest may join my army, if there is no place for the others then you may do whatever you wish. But the strongest you improve and make stronger. This mutant can become very deadly if enhanced, I don’t want her to die because you got carried away. You nearly killed the last one,” Apocalypse said“I was curious how his powers worked,” Sinister said, that mutant’s powers truly were intriguing, “I still haven’t figured everything out about that mutant.”“You’re just lucky he survived. I want this mutant to live Sinister, to serve me. Understand,” Apocalypse said“I understand,” Sinister said, and after receiving another warning glare from Apocalypse, the mutant disappeared, and Sinister continued walking until he made it to a door which slid open.
Sinister’s Lab
Once Sinister entered his lab which looks like what you would expect in a lab of a mad scientist, it had a ton of tables for his test subjects, a bunch of advanced machinery, with medical supplies. Immediately as he enters, Sinister sees Archangel next to a table. Sinister then makes his way toward him, “Master Sinister,” Archangel said bowing“Hello Archangel,” Sinister said as he approached the table, he then looked at the table and saw the unconscious girl on the table strapped down, “So, this is the girl?”“Yes master,” Archangel said“You have any problems containing her,” Sinister said“She ran away, but I was able to catch her before she could get help,” Archangel said“Hm, you did good work my Archangel,” Sinister praised, just then they noticed that the girl was waking up, “Ah, she’s awaking.”Finally, the girl woke up and groaned as she felt pain course through her, just then she noticed that she wasn’t home, but somewhere unfamiliar to her. She tries to move but finds that she is strapped down, seeing this she tries to struggle but finds that she can’t get free, “What, what’s going on,” she said, just then she noticed Sinister and Archangel, “You, you attacked me, and chased me.”“Yes, he did my dear, his name is Archangel, and he was doing what I instructed him,” Sinister said getting the mutant’s attention.“Who, who are you,” the girl asked“Me I’m your doctor,” Sinister said“Doctor,” the girl repeated confused, getting a nod from Sinister. “Why am I here?”“To hear what I have to say,” Sinister said, releasing the girl from her restraints. “I apologize for restraining you, I just had to make sure that you wouldn’t run off before we could talk. You won’t run off, will you?”Seeing that running probably wouldn’t be the smartest move, because one she doesn’t know where she is, and two the person who caught her the first time was there and he would catch her a second time. Knowing this, the mutant girl nodded.Pleased with the response, Sinister spoke, “Tell me, are you tired of living in the sewers in shame,” Sinister asked“What,” the girl asked surprised“Are you tired of living in the sewers? Don’t you wish that you could go back to the surface and live the life that you once did, even better than you did? To live your life without fear or shame of what you are,” Sinister said, he could see the hesitant, contemplative, and anger appear on the girl’s face, this make him smile, “You do don’t you?”The girl gave a hesitant nod, “Yes, I do,” she said“Do you want to make those humans hide instead? Make them feel what you feel every day,” Sinister askedThe girl grew angry, she then looked at Sinister, “I do, more than anything,” she said, she wishes that she could make those humans feel the same type of pain, the same type of fear that she does every day.“What if I told you that was possible,” Sinister said getting a curious look from the girl.“What do you mean,” the girl asked“We mutants have and always will be superior to humans, and it is time they knew this. Time to know just who the lesser species are. I am gathering an army of mutants, and when we are ready, we will take this word for mutant kind. Think about it, no more hiding, no more living in fear, being treated as second-class citizens. Doesn’t that sound nice,” Sinister said, he can tell he has the girl’s interest. “If you join us, then that world will become a reality, only the strong deserve this world, you are among the strong. That is why you were chosen.”“I only have acid touch though, can’t do much if I can’t touch anyone,” the girl said“Well, that’s why I am here,” Sinister said, he then gestured toward Archangel, “You see Archangel here, you wouldn’t know it, but once he was Angel of the X-Men.”“What,” the girl exclaimed surprised, “He, he is Angel.” She heard of what happened between Angel, the X-Men, and her group. She can’t believe that this was once the beautiful Angel. What happened to him?“That’s right. Some months back, Angel ran into the MRD, they attacked him, and his wings were severely damaged, his father then decided to remove his wings because he wanted a normal son,” Sinister said, he could see an enraged look on the girl’s face. That’s good, that’s what he wants, “Angel grew depressed, he just wasn’t himself without his wings. I offered my services, he rejected me at first, but then came to me. I restored his wings; except I made them better than they ever were. You’ve witnessed some of the improvements.” The girl’s nod was his answer, “You accept my offer, and I can make you more powerful than you would expect. I can push your powers to heights that you never thought existed. No more, living in fear, no more hiding. All you must do is agree to serve me, and my master, to fight for us, and to kill for us. I think that is a fair trade, don’t you? So, what do you say Cybelle, will you serve Apocalypse?”Cybelle didn’t even think about it, everything that Sinister said, everything that could happen, the future. If that is possible then she wants to be part of it, with that Cybelle looked at Sinister, “Yes, I will join you, and I will fight for our future,” she saidSinister smirked, “Good choice, now let’s make those improvements, shall we,” he said, with that Cybelle laid on the table, she was strapped in and Sinister got to work on his latest subject.
Later, Xavier Institute, Danger Room
Metal clashing with metal can be heard throughout the room, the source of this noise is two swords clashing with each other, the wielders of these swords are Logan and Kitty currently the two are in another deadlock, they have been training for two hours straight. Quite the intense session, at least for Kitty, she forgot how much stamina it took for this training. She was sweating, and her breathing was heavier than it was in the beginning. Yet despite this, despite the fact that she is getting her butt kicked, Kitty is having the time of her life. She can’t help it; she always did love her samurai training. To become a modern-day samurai was very appealing to her. She remembers planning on adding a sword to her suit, at least when Logan got her one, and he would only get her a sword when she completed her training. He told her that she wasn’t allowed to get her own sword, a sword is something earned, not bought. She once did try to get her own sword, Logan found out, and he wasn’t happy. Kitty tries not to think of the punishment that she received for her disobedience.Kitty and Logan lock eyes, Kitty’s eyes are filled with determination while Logan’s are so calm, it was just like when they first began her training, that isn’t exactly a good thing. Kitty, quickly retreats and gained some distance from Logan, she then charges Logan, and swings her sword diagonal left, but Logan blocked it and pushed her sword away, he then moved in and slashed diagonal right which she block, in one swift move Logan slashed horizontal which again Kitty blocked, she then pushed the sword away and slashed Logan horizontal as well but he took a step back, dodging the sword, then at a fast and swift speed that Kitty wasn’t ready for Logan slashed horizontal right, she block, he slashed horizontal left, she blocked again, he slashed down, she barely blocked, he slashed horizontal, she barely dodged, Logan then slashed horizontal right which Kitty barely blocked, Logan then positioned his sword to where he is making Kitty’s sword slide down, he then slides his sword up making Kitty just barely move her head out of the way. She didn’t have time to do or think of anything else because just then Logan jabs the hilt of his sword in Kitty’s stomach making her fall to the ground, her sword dropping to the ground. Before she could get up, the point of Logan’s sword was in front of her face, she groaned knowing very well that signaled her defeat. After that Logan moved his sword away from Kitty and sheathed it, he then offered his hand which Kitty took to help her stand up. Once she is standing, Kitty grabbed her sword from the floor sheaths it, she then looked towards Logan and the two bowed once again. “Good job kid, it looks like to you retained more of your skill than I thought you did,” he said“Thanks, but I still lost,” Kitty said“That’s because even though you have more skill than I thought you did; you still don’t have the skill that you had two years ago. You’ve forgotten things kid, both your body and mind. Your mind wasn’t clear, it was still clouded. A samurai’s mind must always be clear to help them perceive the situation and how to handle it. You had allowed annoyance and frustration take over, and that crippled you. If you want to get back to the condition that you were in two years ago and farther then there are things that I am gonna have to teach you again.”“I’m amazed you still remember this stuff; I mean the MRDs don’t exactly give you the chance to use a sword,” Kitty said, wondering how Logan had kept up his skill.“The Silver Samurai taught me a lesson, the only good thing that he has done in his miserable life. I must keep my skills up, no matter what, I can’t let these skills waver, you never know when we’ll run into someone like that again,” Logan said, ‘Or, if he will return for revenge,’ he thought, that honestly wouldn’t surprise him. To prepare for that day, Logan will continue his training as well as Kitty’s, well that is if she decides to continue once the time limit is up.Kitty nodded; she could understand that. They will never know when they’ll run into someone like that again, but if they do, they will be prepared next time.“Training is over, I have another meeting with the professor, enjoy the rest of your day Kitty,” Logan saidKitty nodded, she then took off her sheathed sword from her hip and handed it to Logan when he approached her. Smirking at her, Logan walked away with both swords in hand.Once Logan was gone Kitty herself walked out of the Danger Room and headed for the showers, then her room, she may call Peter. Hopefully she’ll be able to talk to him.
Later, Xavier’s resting place
Logan who is showered and dressed in his civilian attire walked in Charles’s room and approached the bed, “Alright Charles, I’m here,” he said, with that there is a flash of light and Logan finds himself in the astral plain in front of Charles Xavier.“Hello Logan,” Charles said“Hey Chuck, you got any news from the front,” Logan said“Indeed, I do,” Charles said making Logan smirk.
Later outside the astral plain
Logan looks at Charles, “Don’t worry Chuck, we won’t let you down,” he said, he then went to gather the others.
In Kitty’s Room
Kitty was lying on her stomach on her bed talking on her cell phone. Who was she talking to? Well, who else other than her boyfriend. She was currently recounting the tale of her training. “Then he sped up on his slashes, and I swear I could barely keep up, it was like sword fighting Quicksilver. He then slashed horizontal right which I was able to block but then he surprised me by sweeping my feet from under me, after that he pointed his sword at my face, and I was beat,” she saidPeter whistled, “Wow, so my girlfriend is a samurai,” he said“Samurai in training,” Kitty corrected smiling a bit.“Either way, you officially became the coolest girlfriend that I ever had,” Peter saidKitty laughed at the comment, “Why thank you, it is my mission to be as cool as possible,” she said“Man, I have the coolest girlfriend, and I’m just plain boring,” Peter said“Don’t say that you are so cool, I think it’s awesome that you go out and take pictures of superheroes,” Kitty said, trying to reassure her boyfriend.“Really,” Peter askedKitty nodded despite Peter couldn’t see it, “I mean, it’s a little scary. Scratch that it is a lot scary, but no one can take as good of picture as you can,” Kitty said“Well thanks, you know I try my best,” Peter said“Well trust me, you succeed,” Kitty said, before more can be said there is a knock-on Kitty’s door making her sigh, “Hang on Peter, someone is knocking.” Kitty then got off her bed, walked up to the door, opened it, and saw Jean, “What’s up Jean,” Kitty asked, perplexed on why the psychic was knocking on her door. She doesn’t get many visits from the older X-Men, the only ones who would visit her are Rogue, Kurt, Bobby back when they were a thing, and a couple years ago Logan.“Hey Kitty, just ran into Logan, he’s gathering everyone, says that he got some useful information from Charles. His words,” Jean saidKitty sighed, she then put her phone back to her ear, “Hey Peter, I have to go, X-Men meeting,” she said“Oh, well ok, I’ll talk to you later then,” Peter said“Talk to you later. Bye,” Kitty said“Bye,” Peter saidKitty then hung up her phone and looked at Jean, “Ok, let’s go,” she said sighing as she and Jean started walking down the halls toward the war room.“So, that was Peter,” Jean asked curious.“Yeah, that was him,” Kitty answered“What were you two talking about,” Jean asked“My training with Logan. He restarted my samurai training,” Kitty said“Really,” Jean asked interested, she always found it interesting how Logan was a trained samurai, with his appearance and attitude you’d never think that he was one. But if there is one thing, she learned about the Wolverine years ago, it is that looks can be deceiving. It’s one of the reasons why Logan once held her interest.Kitty nodded, “Yeah he did,” she said“Did you have fun, I remember how much you love that training,” Jean said, and it’s obvious that Kitty still loved it considering how excited she got this morning, and how she devoured her food, and chugged her coffee.Kitty smiled, “It was fun, it had been such a long time since I picked up a sword. Though it was also tiring, I forgot how much stamina was needed for that training,” she said“How did you get back into training with Logan,” Jean asked the question that has been on everyone’s minds.“It was a bet,” Kitty answered“A bet,” Jean asked getting a nod from Kitty.“Logan had setup a date between Peter and I, I at first said no. I wasn’t interested in dating anyone, I mean I was dealing with the aftermath of mine and Bobby’s breakup,” Kitty said, ‘Still am dealing with that.’ “In order to get me to agree, Logan made a bet with me.”“What was the bet,” Jean asked curious.“I go on the date, and if I don’t like it then he would do whatever I wanted him to do. It didn’t matter how embarrassing, demeaning, or degrading it was, he would do it,” Kitty said“And what did you want him to do,” Jean said smilingKitty grinned as she remembered what she was gonna have Logan do, “I wanted him to walk in public cross-dressed in a black dress, high heels, makeup, everything,” she saidJean can’t help but laugh at the image that was painted for her, “Only you Kitty would be so brave,” she said making Kitty shrug like it was no big deal. This was proof to Jean that there is still hope for Logan and Kitty to repair their relationship, because she is still so comfortable and unafraid to embarrass Logan without fear of some kind of retaliation on his part.“But if I liked the date then I would have to train with Logan for two weeks. The opportunity was too good, and at the time I thought that I wouldn’t like anyone for a long while,” Kitty said“But you were wrong, you liked the date, and now you’re training with Logan,” Jean said getting a nod from Kitty.“Exactly, it’s a bit bittersweet, but hey I have myself an awesome boyfriend. I mean he tends to be late, and gives me the worse excuses ever,” Kitty said rolling her eyes as she remembers some of his excuses. The first time he gave her an excuse she knew that he was lying and hiding something, she’d been keeping secrets and lying since she was 13 years old, so she’s gotten good at telling when someone is hiding something. There’s a reason people don’t know that the Xavier Institute is the base of the X-Men, or that she is a mutant, even when she doesn’t wear a mask, people still can’t make the connection, probably because they don’t want to believe it. Heh, she guesses that she does wear a mask, the mask of disbelief. Heh now she thinks about it, she never really gave Logan any grief about revealing her mutant status, then again, she can’t really talk considering she gave Peter the identities of all the X-Men. Maybe she should keep that to herself, besides Peter won’t tell, she’s sure of it. He’s a really loyal guy, it’s one of the reasons why she likes him.“You think he’s keeping something from you,” Jean asked“I know he is, but hey I’m keeping things from him too. Whatever he’s keeping from me, I’m sure I’ll find out, I hope I’ll find out. It’s too early to get him to reveal all his secrets to me, for now I’m good. He hasn’t stood me up on any of our dates, and he’s always tried to do something a little extra to make it up to me. If whatever he is keeping from me becomes a problem then I’ll deal with it,” Kitty said getting a nod from Jean.“Sounds like a good plan,” Jean said, she sighed, “Still can’t believe Logan set you up.”“I know, it’s weird, I didn’t think he cared enough to do that,” Kitty said making Jean look at her.“Didn’t care enough, Kitty you don’t think that,” Jean said, she knows that this is just Kitty’s bitterness talking. All she got in response was silence though, “Kitty, Logan cares for you. You and Rogue are two of the most important people in his life. No one comes before you,” Jean defended Logan.“I don’t want to talk about this Jean,” Kitty said, trying to end this discussion, she isn’t ready for this. She’s not sure she’ll ever be ready, even though secretly, deep inside she wants to be.Jean could see this and as they appear outside the War Room, she decides to drop it but not before saying one more thing, “Kitty,” she said getting Kitty’s attention on her, “You have always been the most important person in his life. No one is more important than you are, he loves you Kitty, he’d do anything to keep you safe and happy, and whether you admit it or not, you love him. He is your father Kitty, and you are his daughter. One day you will fix this, just don’t let your stubbornness and pride get in the way, because the longer this goes on, the more pain you will feel.”Before Kitty could respond, the door opened for them, and Jean entered the room, Kitty followed seconds later, she could only hope that her words would give Kitty something to think about. Once they enter, they see the entire X-Men team sitting at the table with Logan standing at the front.“Glad you two could join us,” Logan said“Sorry, but I had to get Kitty off the phone, she was talking to Peter,” Jean said with a teasing smiling masking the serious talk that she had with the girl just outside the room. Kitty scowls at the comment which Jean did find amusing.“Oh really,” Kurt asked in a teasing tone, “Tell us Kitty vat did you two talk about? Perhaps your vedding date, zee location, zee names of your children,” Kurt said smirking.Kitty blushed at Kurt’s accusations, “None of the above, we were just talking about how our mornings were going so far. Well at least until Jean interrupted us,” Kitty responded“Sorry about that,” Jean saidKitty shrugged, “It’s cool, his break was almost over anyway, we would have had to hangup anyway so he could get to class,” she said“So, he’s in school then,” Hank asked curious as well.“Yep, he’s a real genius, he’s majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in engineering,” Kitty said proudly as she and Jean sat in their seats at the table. There are a lot of high paying jobs that Peter can get with those degrees, he could go into pharmaceuticals or even work at one of the big companies like Stark Industries, or he could be like Hank and do independent studies, he is just that smart. Yup, Kitty has a reason to be proud of her boyfriend.“Biochemistry, I’d like to talk to him some day,” Hank said“He’d love that, he’s a big fan of yours, read all your papers. He’s really looking forward to your next paper,” Kitty answeredBobby scoffed, “Sounds like a nerd if you ask me,” he saidYou’d think that Kitty would disagree with Bobby and defend Peter, but she didn’t, instead she smirked at Bobby, “Oh, he’s a big one, but I always found nerds really hot,” Kitty responded as she looked at Bobby victoriously, making his scowl deepen.Before more could be said Logan interrupted, “Despite how entertaining this is, this is a briefing,” he said quieting everyone, seeing that he now has everyone’s attention Logan began the briefing. “Earlier I had a meeting with Chuck, if there was anything new, and he was able to give me something that we can work with.”“What did he say,” Ororo asked“According to Chuck we need to focus less on Apocalypse and more on his followers. If we can keep him from building his army then we may have a chance of keeping him from taking over the world,” Logan said“So, what, we keep him from recruiting? Where do we start with that,” Scott asked“We start with some old…acquaintances,” Logan said“Acquaintances,” Forge asked“And who are these acquaintances,” Scott asked“Some that some of us know better than others. You never met them slim, neither have Jean, Forge, Bobby, or Rogue. But Me, Kitty, Kurt, Ororo, and Piotr know them,” Logan said“Logan, who are you talking about,” Ororo asked, she has a feeling that she knows, and she can’t help but dread it.“The Morlocks,” Logan answered“The Morlocks,” Kitty, Kurt, and Ororo exclaimed“Who are the Morlocks,” Bobby asked questioningly“The Morlocks are a group of mutants who live in New York’s underground. They moved there believing themselves to be outcasts not just from the humans but mutants also,” Kitty said“Zey don’t trust anyone outside zeir group, years ago zey kidnapped Angel so zeir leader could marry him,” Kurt said“And who is their leader,” Scott asked“Calisto, we went to save Angel, but got captured ourselves. Some of us got sick,” Logan said“Sick,” Jean asked“The Morlocks have a mutant that can make a person deathly ill, and I mean deathly. Piotr and I got infected. While the others were captured, I was found and taken care of by another Morlock,” Kitty said, she shivered a little as she remembered her times with the Morlocks, and the one who took care of her. At first, she felt bad for misleading him but after their second meeting and what they did to her. There’s just no forgiving that.“It’s only because of Half-Pint and Storm that we all got out ok,” Logan said“Do you sink zat zis is a good idea mein friend. Zee last time vee parted vith zee Morlocks, it vasn’t on good terms,” Kurt said“I’m very aware of how we left the Morlocks,” Logan said as he looked at the ones who were there.“How did you leave them,” Jean asked, she then felt various emotions, she could feel anger from Ororo, Kurt, and Logan although in Logan’s case she can feel the want to kill. She also feels Kitty’s emotions, they are probably the most intense, she can feel rage, sadness, hurt, and fear. She could also feel some conflicting emotions from them all except from Logan, she could feel a sense of triumph, and shame from Kurt and Ororo, Logan just feels triumph and satisfaction. Then there’s Kitty who just feels gratitude, and relief, the relief of being here with them. Jean doesn’t know what happened between her four teammates and the Morlocks but from what she’s felt she knows that it had to be something big.“Let’s just say that there was a fight, and leave it at that,” Ororo said getting nods from Logan, Kurt, and Kitty.“Why did you fight them,” Bobby asked curious.“The Morlocks crossed a line that no one crosses,” Logan said looking at Kitty which Jean noticed. So, it obviously had something to do with Kitty. But what?“Why must we go to the Morlocks? What do they have to do with Apocalypse,” Kitty asked“According to Charles, Sinister has been sending his goons out and has been kidnapping the Morlocks, he experiments on them and makes them his soldiers,” Logan said“Why would they work for Sinister if they were kidnapped,” Forge asked“Some of the Morlocks are content with their lives in the sewers while others feel nothing but bitterness, anger, and hatred toward humanity for making them retreat there. There are many Morlocks who would love to go up top and cause havoc, make the humans feel what they feel every day,” Ororo explained“So, Sinister uses this anger to convince them to join him. Sounds like him, the manipulative bastard,” Scott said“Some of Apocalypse’s top lieutenants are Morlocks. We’ve seen some of the powers that they have, could you imagine Sinister with that kind of power, especially when he makes his…modifications,” Logan said, and the others had to give him that, the Morlocks are quite powerful.“We have no choice do we,” Kitty said getting a headshake from Logan causing her to sigh.“Everyone get ready. Forge you’re staying here to watch Tildie, make sure nothing happens,” Logan said, silently saying make sure she doesn’t destroy the mansion.Forge nodded, “You can count on me,” he said“Alright everyone move. Ororo, I want you to hang back,” Logan saidWith that everyone got up and left the room, all except Ororo who walked up to Logan, “Please tell me this is about opening up the school again, because if it is this is quite an inappropriate time to talk about it,” she said“We’ll discuss that another time, for now,” Logan said“I know what you are gonna say Logan and please don’t ask that,” Ororo said“Ororo, you led those missions before, you once ruled them, and you’re the one who has the most knowledge,” Logan said“Most knowledge, I barely acknowledged them until they did something stupid,” Ororo retorted“But you did learn their ways, besides you’re the only one who can handle Calisto,” Logan said“You know she hates me; it would be better if you lead,” Storm said“You’re kidding right? After what she did, I’d kill her, the others will probably be more focused on preventing me from killing anybody. You’re better at keeping your cool, gonna need that other Storm to come out. You and I both know that it has to be you,” Logan said making Ororo sigh.“Fine, I’ll do it, but I’m gonna need you to become what you were back then to. I know you’ve spent years being better, but right now, I think we may need a killer,” Ororo said“We’re trying to save them, not kill them,” Logan pointed out“I’m aware, but they won’t be welcoming toward us. They’ll probably attack us, after what we did,” Ororo said“I don’t regret anything. Do you,” Logan askedOroro sighed, “I don’t know, I’ve always been mixed about it. Sometimes I think that we may have been to…rough,” she said“They crossed a line Ororo,” Logan said“Calisto crossed a line,” Ororo corrected“And the Morlocks backed her, despite their customs, they attacked, so did we. Anyway, we’re not talking about that,” Logan saidOroro sighed, “Fine, I’ll lead this mission, but I don’t want Kitty part of it,” she said“No arguments here,” Logan saidWhat neither knew was that Kitty was listening to the entire thing and she didn’t like what she just heard, “Like hell,” Kitty said, as she stepped back in the room getting Logan and Ororo’s attention.“Kitten,” Ororo said“I’m not staying behind,” Kitty said“It’s too dangerous kid,” Logan said“I don’t care, I’m going,” Kitty said“After what they did to you, Kitty you said that you never wanted to see them again,” Ororo reminded“I know, but…,” Kitty said as she then thinks about Peter and wonders what happened to him in the future, she really likes him, the thought of what happened to him in that future scares her. If she prevents the future then she protects Peter, and if the only way to do that is facing the Morlocks, then she’ll do it, “If facing them means preventing the apocalypse then I’ll do it. I’m going, you’re welcome to stop me.”Logan chuckled, “I’ve been training her for a week, and she thinks that she’s invincible,” Logan commented, “Always admired that stubbornness kid, but this isn’t my show, it’s Storm’s.”Ororo looked at Kitty studying her, she would rather Kitty not go, so would Logan, Kurt, and if Piotr were here, he’d back them. What the Morlocks did to her, what they put her through was traumatizing. Seeing Kitty’s face, she could see fear, fear of going through that again, but she also saw determination, the same determination that has gotten them out of many jams over the years. She won’t let this go, and they really don’t have anywhere they could hold her till the mission is done. Sighing in defeat, Ororo looked at Kitty, “Stick close, don’t do anything stupid, and you can come,” she said making Kitty smile.“Awesome, I’ll go get changed,” Kitty said, she then left the room leaving Ororo and Logan in the room.Logan and Ororo looked at each other, “Any of them try anything…,” Ororo said“I’ll kill them,” Logan said, with that Logan walks out of the War Room, leaving Ororo behind to think everything over before she herself leaves to get ready.
Later, in the hanger
The X-Men who were all wearing their uniforms, except for Scott and Jean who had new uniforms on (They are wearing their X-Men: The Animated series uniforms), they were all in the hanger, all except for one person, Kitty. Most of them were wondering where she was, all except Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jean-X who could feel the fear from her and how she is trying to push it down. “Where is she,” Cyclops asked“She’s coming, I can feel her,” Jean-X saidAs they waited, Storm was tempted to just leave without Kitty, and keep her here where she is safe. But she knew that some things never change, and Kitty’s stubbornness is one of them. She would find a way, she always does. Better for them to arrive together than separately.Just then Shadowcat enters the hanger and walks up to the group, “Sorry it took so long, I had to take care of something,” Shadowcat said“And what was so important that needed taking care of now,” Cyclops asked wanting to know.“Doesn’t matter,” Storm interrupted relieving Shadowcat, “Kitty’s hear now, that’s all that matters.”Wolverine then stepped up, “Before we go, I want to let everyone know, that for the duration of this mission, Storm is the leader,” he said, surprising the X-Men.“Logan are you serious,” Cyclops asked getting a nod from Wolverine.“Storm led the missions that involved the Morlocks and she’s the most knowledgeable,” Wolverine explained“Zat makes sense,” Nightcrawler saidStorm then stepped up, “Any objections,” she asked, getting silence in return, “Alright then, everyone in the X-Wing.” With that the X-Men entered the jet and took off heading to New York City.
Later, in New York City
The X-Wing which is now in New York City’s airspace had headed over to one of the buildings closest to the one of the entrances to the Morlocks homes, an abandoned subway, this way no one gets in the way.In the X-Wing, sitting in the pilot seats are Beast and Cyclops with Storm standing in between, “Set it down,” Storm ordered with that, Beast and Cyclops landed the X-Wing on the roof. After that the X-Men exited their jet, they the descended the building, Nightcrawler teleported Wolverine, Iceman, and Rogue. Jean-X levitated she and Cyclops to the ground, Storm flew down the ground herself while Shadowcat figuring how long it has been since she has used her powers this way has walked down to the ground, her steps the air itself. The X-Men walked toward the entrance and saw it boarded up.“Looks like zey repaired it from zee last time you destroyed it Wolverine,” Nightcrawler said“I’d be happy to destroy it again,” Wolverine said popping his claws.“No, let’s take the subtle approach,” Storm said, she then looked at Shadowcat, “Shadowcat.”Taking a deep breath Shadowcat nodded, “Everyone hold hands,” she said, her teammates doing as she says, hold hands. Taking another breath Shadowcat activated her powers and the X-Men phased through the ground and entered the subway.“Good job Shadowcat now let’s get moving,” Storm said, the X-Men then all jumped down onto the tracks and walked down the tunnel with Storm leading the way. The order of the X-men was as follows, Strom in the front, Cyclops next to her, Shadowcat behind Storm, Nightcrawler to Shadowcat’s left, Wolverine to Shadowcat’s right, Iceman was next to Wolverine, Rogue-X next to Nightcrawler, and Jean-X and Beast were in the rear.As they walked Jean-X can’t help but notice how Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Storm have surrounded Shadowcat, as if they were her shields or something. They were also on edge as if they were waiting for an attack, Wolverine has his claws out, Nightcrawler looks ready to teleport at a moment’s notice, and Storm’s fingers are twitching as if she is getting ready to throw lightning. This all has Jean-X curious, were the Morlocks so hostile and dangerous that her three teammates are ready to fight at a moment’s notice. Jean then decides to take a look at the X-Men’s youngest member and she of all is the tensest, Jean-X isn’t sure if Shadowcat is ready to fight or run away. This puts Jean-X on edge, Shadowcat isn’t one to be scared easily, ever since her training with Wolverine she has been one of the most confident on the team, that’s because she had the skills to back up that confidence. But right now, Jean-X doesn’t feel that confidence, what she feels is fear and anxiety. Before Jean-X could think more about this, the X-Men come upon a door.Storm stops in front of the door stopping the group, “This is it, the entrance to the Morlocks domain. When we go through this door, we’re in their territory, that means we must be cautious,” she said“They probably already know that we’re here,” Shadowcat said“Why do you say that,” Cyclops said“Because, they have a mutant whose powers are sensing other mutants, and he can differentiate the mutants to,” Shadowcat said“So, he’s a living Cerebro, maybe we should recruit him,” Iceman said“NO,” Shadowcat snapped surprising everyone but, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Storm, “No, he’s fine where he is.” ‘The farther away from me the better.’Jean-X heard that thought and filed it away, it was as if she had pieces of a puzzle that she just had to put together.“Jean,” Storm said getting Jean-X’s attention, “I want you to scan below us, check if there are any minds. The first time we ran into the Morlocks they caught us off guard. Let’s not let that happen again.”Nodding Jean-X focused her powers and sensed around only to come up with nothing, “Nothing, there is no one below us,” Jean-X reportedStorm nodded, “Let’s not take any chance. Wolverine, keep your senses up, I don’t care how small, you sense something I want to know. I also want everyone to remain in contact, that way we can use Nightcrawler or Shadowcat for escape,” she said, Storm then opened the door to show steps, “We’ll go as follow, me, Cyclops Wolverine, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Beast, Jean, and Iceman.“Why am I in the back, how about putting me closer to Kitty,” Iceman said“First off, no real names in the field, second this is a mission Iceman, not a chance for you to try and win Shadowcat’s affection,” Storm said silencing Iceman, “You’re in the back so you can defend us with your ice-shields in case someone tries to attack from behind. Now if everyone is ready,” Storm asked looking at Shadowcat once she asked the question only to get an uncertain look, but a nod as well. With that Storm walked through the door, soon followed be the rest of the X-Men.
Sewers
The X-Men were all walking down the stairs each of them staying vigilant, ready to act at a moment’s notice. Eventually they made down the stairs, “Wolverine sense anyone nearby,” Storm askedWolverine using his enhances senses listened and sniffed around which gave him a foul odor, “Nothing, but I would suggest caution. It’s been years since we last seen the Morlocks, they may have some new members who can counter us,” Wolverine saidStorm nodded her head, “Right, everyone, stay on guard, and be ready for anything,” Storm said as they continued to walk through the tunnels in the formation that they were in in the subway.“So, do you guys think that giant alligators actually live in the New York sewers, because that is something that I’m gonna watch out for,” Iceman said as he watched the sewer water cautiously.Shadowcat rolled her eyes at that, “There are no alligators in the sewers, now giant lizards maybe, but not alligators,” she said“Giant lizards,” Rogue-X asked“Yeah, you know, the Lizard, he’s one of Spider-Man’s villains. He made an appearance a couple years ago. I heard that he liked to use the sewers as a base of operation,” Shadowcat informed making Rogue sigh.“You would find a way to bring Spider-Man up wouldn’t ya,” Rogue said“What? What’s wrong with talking about Spider-Man? Besides it was related to the topic of conversation,” Shadowcat said“I wish I didn’t bring it up,” Iceman muttered, he hates it when Kitty talks about Spider-Man, how she gets all fangirl about it, and you can’t even say anything negative about the guy or Kitty will rip you a new one.Logan can’t help but smirk as Kitty starts to talk about Spider-Man, he’s certainly looking forward to the day that she discovers that she’s been dating the guy. He certainly hopes that he’ll be there when she finds out, it will certainly be a laugh. Suddenly Wolverine smells something, or someone, one person, no two, three, four, five, six, it keeps increasing, “They’re here,” Wolverine informed Storm, getting a nod from her. Just then multiple disfigured people jump from the ceiling, and shadows, surrounding the X-Men on all sides. The group ready to attack.The X-Men who are ready to defend themselves look at the group, “So, I’m guessing that these are the Morlocks,” Cyclops asked“You guessed right slim,” Wolverine said as he crossed his claws in an X.“What happened to them,” Jean-X asked as she noticed that some were disfigured.“Yeah, they are ug…ly,” Iceman said“Iceman,” Beast reprimanded“Zey have anozer mutant whose powers is to alter a person’s shape, ven someone joined the Morlocks, he vould alter zem, and made zem look like this,” Nightcrawler said gesturing toward the disfigured mutants. Kitty herself shivered at that and Jean-X sensed a spike of fear come through the girl.Ignoring her teammates talking, Storm steps up, “We wish to speak to Calisto, take us to her,” she said“There’s no need for that Storm,” a woman’s voice said from the crowd, a path was then formed and through the path another mutant walked until she was in front of her group, “You are not welcome her X-Men,” Calisto said
