The lights flickered on at midnight, taking Jungkook by surprise. He blinked a couple of times so that his eyes would adjust to the brightness of the room. The voices of his hyungs intertwined together to produce a harmonious melody as they sang to him a "happy birthday."Taehyung plopped himself on the bed beside the maknae and manhandled him into a sitting position, causing him to let out a surprised squeak. Hoseok swiped cream from the cake over his cheeks, Taehyung trapping Jungkook's arms in his strong grip. The maknae's laughter filled the room alongside their energized singing."Happy birthday, Kookie!" Jimin exclaimed once the birthday cake had been cut, wrapping his arms around Jungkook and giving him a warm hug, placing a soft kiss on his lips."Thank you, mimi," Jungkook replied, his eyes sparkling with gratitude and love. Yoongi groaned at the display of affection while Hoseok cooed, commenting something in the lines of "so cute."The other members took their turns, showering Jungkook with well-wishes and small presents. Taehyung handed him a funny card, while Yoongi gifted him a new gaming console.As the celebration continued, Jimin felt his nervousness grow and looked to the other members for some kind of comfort. He received an immediate response in the form of Namjoon's dimpled smile, Taehyung's boxy smirk paired with a wink to say "You've got this," Seokjin's comforting pat on the back, Hoseok's subtle nod, and Yoongi's blink of the eyes along with a soft tug at the corners of his lips to convey "it'll be fine."Jungkook couldn't help but notice the subtle interactions but couldn't quite decipher their meaning. When the rest of the members shuffled out of the room later that night or rather early morning, allowing the two lovers to have their space, Jungkook decided to ask Jimin what was up."You okay?" He gently asked, concern evident in his tone."Of course, baby. Why wouldn't I be?""You seem... nervous," said Jungkook, opening his arms for Jimin to slide into them. Jimin took the invitation, embracing Jungkook and soaking up the warmth he received in return."Maybe a little," Jimin whispered, kissing Jungkook's neck."Why?" Jungkook asked, carding his fingers through Jimin's hair as he snuggled closer."You'll know soon enough. It's nothing to worry about, lovebug."Jungkook's brows furrowed but he didn't question Jimin any further. Jimin pulled his shirt off and discarded it on the floor, pushing Jungkook by his chest and taking a seat over his lap.Jungkook's eyes flew wide open as his gaze locked with Jimin's."My gift to you is yet to be given," the shorter whispered seductively and Jungkook's cheeks dusted a light shade of pink, "tell me, baby. Would you like me to give you your gift now?"Jungkook's cheeks burned, and he mumbled out a "yes, please.""So polite. My precious baby," Jimin whispered and leaned forward, pressing his lips against Jungkook's as he worked on undoing the buttons of his shirt."Mimi," Jungkook moaned against his lips."We're only getting started and you're so needy already, lovebug," Jimin teased.Their soft pants and moans filled the room, the bedsheet a crumpled mess under the two lovers, skin against bare skin, in a passionate exchange.~"Guys," Namjoon called out as he entered the dinning room where the others were seated together having breakfast."What's the matter?" Seokjin asked."Yeah, hyung. What's up?" Taehyung asked, mouth full of scrambled egg and mushrooms."Yah! Chew and swallow first, then talk!" Yoongi scolded, nudging his arm.Taehyung swallowed with a loud gulp and gave the older a boxy smile, receiving a smack in return.Namjoon rolled his eyes, ignoring the commotion they were creating at the table."We've got a meeting to attend this evening. Bang PD-nim has requested us all to be present for it," Namjoon informed."Aw shucks. That means we can't take Jungkook out for dinner tonight?"Hoseok gave him an incredulous look, just as Taehyung clapped a hand over his mouth."Secret dinner," Hoseok gritted out and Yoongi facepalmed as Jungkook giggled at them."Unbelievable, Taehyung," Seokjin sighed."I'm sorry," Taehyung squeaked in defense, "it slipped out.""This is why you should never tell Taehyung secrets," Jimin commented and Taehyung fake gasped."Hey, I'm an excellent secret keeper.""Sure you are. We just got a view of it," Yoongi commented, sarcastically."Guys!" Namjoon called out to get their attention, "Taehyung's right though. We'll have to cancel the dinner reservations we made."Seokjin sighed."It's okay. There's no need to feel dejected. Having dinner together with you guys in the dorm is more than enough of a birthday present for me. I don't need fancy. I just...need you guys."The members cooed."Ayye, our baby. When did you grow up, maknae?" Hoseok said, pulling his cheeks."Ahh, hyung. Stop," Jungkook whined.Their laughter rang out in the dinning room.~Later that evening, the members were all dressed and ready to go."Let's head out, shall we?" Namjoon called out."Yes, hyung," came Taehyung's voice from upstairs, followed by loud footfalls as he ran down the stairs, "I call shotgun!""Yah, for the last time. Do not run down the stairs!" Seokjin scolded, smacking the side of his head as the younger ran past him.Jimin snorted at his soulmate's antics.Seokjin then turned to Jimin and smiled knowingly."Good luck," he said in a low voice so that only Jimin could hear."Thank you, hyung," Jimin whispered.Jin smiled, "There's no need to be nervous. He's your Jungkookie. I know for sure what the answer will be and you know it too. You don't have to be nervous. Just do it."Jimin nodded, and allowed Jin to wrap him in a comforting hug. They parted just as Jungkook appeared down the stairs."Shall we?" He asked Jimin, curious behind the exchange Jimin had with Jin, but knowing better than to question it."Let's.""We'll see you at the building," said Jin, and gave a subtle wink to Jimin, before he slid into the back of the car.Jungkook and Jimin found themselves in one vehicle. The driver pulled the car out of the drive and steered down the well-lit street. Jungkook was still unaware of the surprise in store for him, and thus when the driver took a turn that was opposite to the route they would usually take to the building, he turned to Jimin, puzzled."We took a wrong turn.""We're going the right way, baby.""Huh? But the building's that way.""We're not going to the building," Jimin said with a smile."Huh? But the meeting?""Trust me, baby?" Jimin asked, and slipped his fingers through Jungkook's."You know I do."Jimin leaned forward and kissed his lips."It's a surprise?""Yes," Jimin whispered.Jungkook's face lit up, "aye, mimi. I'm curious."Jimin laughed, "don't worry, baby. You'll see soon."They continued to drive until they reached a picturesque seaside spot. The driver parked the car, and Jungkook looked around, taking in the stunning view of the ocean. The driver twisted in his seat and addressed Jimin, "sir, we are here.""Yes, thank you.""What are we doing here, Jimin-hyung?" Jungkook asked, feeling a mixture of excitement and confusion."We're here to spend some time by the sea. Just you and me. Under the evening sky. Just the way you like it."Jungkook's heart soared and he grinned happily, tugging the car door open and sliding out. He took a deep breath, eyes falling close as the breeze ruffled his hair.Jimin took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest. He reached behind his seat and pulled out a bouquet of sunflowers, Jungkook's favorite. The driver gave him an encouraging smile, "Good luck, Jimin-ssi."Jimin nodded at him, and exited the car, walking up to Jungkook and sliding a hand to his waist."Baby. I have something for you."Jungkook twisted around and his eyes widened at the bouquet of sunflowers in Jimin's hand."Jiminie!" He exclaimed."For you, my love," Jimin smiled wide."Ahh, they're beautiful.""Just like you are. My sunflower.""Then you're my sun," Jungkook commented, "Wherever you go, I follow."Jimin's heart skipped a beat."What would you say if I asked you..." Jimin trailed off and swallowed a lump in his throat."What's wrong?" Jungkook asked, concerned."Everything is so right in this moment baby. But it could be even better. My sunflower, you light up my world, my life, in ways I never knew was possible. Would you stay by my side till the end of time? Would you grow old with me if I asked you to?"Jungkook's breath caught in his throat. Was Jimin asking him to...The older got down to one knee and from his pocket, he pulled out a tiny box. Jungkook gasped."Jungkook, will you marry me and make me yours?"His voice trembled and his eyes grew moist.Tears welled up in Jungkook's eyes as he looked at Jimin in astonishment. He couldn't believe what was happening."Yes, Jimin, a thousand times yes!" he exclaimed, his heart overflowing with love and happiness.Jimin slipped the ring onto Jungkook's finger, and they sealed their engagement with a passionate kiss, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the seaside."I love you, Jungkookie.""I love you too.
