Doc had concerns as soon as he stepped out into the scorching sun, he squinted as the rays attacked his eyes.“Kid, you can’t train at this temperature.” Doc tried to discourage Lightning. Lightning picked his shades off the kitchen counter before walking to Doc’s side.“Doc, it’s fine. I’ve trained through worse.” Lightning brushed off Doc’s concerns. Doc looked at the unnecessary jacket tied around the blond’s waist, he sighed tiredly.Lightning ran by Doc and quickly made his way over to the garage door, the sun hit his back, but it didn’t bother him.At least not yet.Doc watched from the front door as Lightning stuck his hands under the garage door and lifted it up with a fair amount of struggle. Doc reminded himself to get the automatic garage door fixed. He shielded his eyes from the sun before walking towards the garage to retrieve the hornet.***“Seriously kid, I doubt you can do laps in this heat.”“Doc, will you relax? I’ll be fine!” Lightning smiled as he scrambled onto the 95#’s roof and opened the hatch. Lightning was already sweating, but he ignored it. Doc huffed a breath before sitting in the hornet, he flicked the air conditioner on. Lightning literally collapsed into the 95#. He scrambled up into a sitting position and turned on his radio.“Kid? You on?” Doc asked into the radio. An audible beep! Played. Lightning sounded exhausted already.“Yeah Doc.” Lightning huffed out.“Are you sure you're alright?” Doc asked again.“Doc, I've told you twice that I'm fine!” Lightning sounded even more exhausted. Doc shook his head, Lightning was stubborn, he knew that, but surely he wouldn’t put himself in danger over it.Right?Lightning pulled his helmet onto his head and strapped it. Lightning coughed, it was kind of hard to breath in the helmet.Lightning strapped the seatbelts, then stomped on the gas. The 95# shot forward. Lightning normally would have made a comment about his car, if it was working properly or improperly. But he was silent. Lightning’s head dipped suddenly as he rounded Willy’s butte. He shot up.“Alright take it easy on the turn.” Doc cautioned into the radio.Lightning did not take it easy on the turn, he didn’t even turn at all, the 95# crashed directly into the cactus patch.Doc tried to keep in his laughter, Lightning going into the cactus patch would never get old.“Kid? You alright?”…“Lightning?”…Doc waited for a response, but Lightning didn’t call back through the radio.Doc jumped out of the hornet and dashed to the edge of the track, he looked into the cactus patch to see the 95# had landed softly on the cacti.Doc carefully slid down the bank, the sun continued to scorch anything it touched. Doc kicked a cactus back as he came up next to the 95#’s bolted window. Doc could see Lightning trying to pull his helmet off. He was struggling.Doc opened the top hatch of the 95#. Lightning hit his helmet with his fists in one last attempt to get it off. Doc leaned over the hatch and helped Lightning take off the helmet.Lightning gasped for air. He was drenched in sweat and his face was going red.“Kid, I told you.” Doc scolded Lightning. Lightning just looked up at Doc and wheezed a breathe. Doc helped Lightning out of the 95#, Lightning was somehow still strong enough to pull himself out.****Lightning coughed again, even as the cool air from the hornet’s AC hit his face. He was grateful to be out of the sun's unforgiving rays. Doc opened his first aid box, he had developed a need to bring it whenever he trained Lightning. The kid was accident prone.Doc pulled out a thermometer, he wiped it with a dry tissue.“Tongue out.” Doc said, raising the thermometer. Lightning stuck his tongue out, he choked in surprise when Doc stuck the thermometer under his tongue instead of on top. He watched too many inaccurate movies.“Hundred and one.” Doc whispered to himself.Lightning coughed again as Doc retracted the thermometer.“H-hundred and one!?” Lightning asked in a dry voice. Doc pushed the water bottle towards Lightning, the charred blonde had already taken down half the bottle. Lightning took it and chugged the rest down.If only he wasn’t so stubborn, this wouldn’t have happened.

Monty finally mustered the strength to walk away from his bedroom door, defeated and exhausted. His desperate attempts to bang on the door and scream for help had ended a long time ago, as Monty had given up on the hope of being let out. Another sniffle escaped him.The young blond collapsed in a heap on his weak bed, he dried his tears with his pillow. He laid on his bed for a while, just sniffling and calming down. Eventually, he gained the motivation to stand up. He fiddled with his shirt as he pondered what to do next. His eyes landed on his bed.Monty softly retrieved a journal from its hiding place beneath his bed. Grabbing his pen, he settled himself in a corner and prepared for a bitter rendezvous with his emotions. With a longing gaze fixed upon the blank page, Monty hesitated. He started to scribble sentences onto the paper, his writing wasn’t very good, even he couldn't understand it himself sometimes. But what do you expect from a seven year-old?Monty sniffled again as he silently wrote, crickets chirped outside. The moon shone through Monty’s useless window cover. He stuck his tongue out as he wrote, it was a strange habit, but he preferred it.As Monty sadly wrote out his feelings and the events of the day, he remembered why he started to write in the journal. Monty stopped writing, he sniffled again. He was about to burst into tears again.Monty quietly put away his pen and journal before hiding under his blanket. The tears started again. He pulled the blanket close to him and rested his head on a soft lump of the blanket.Monty’s sobs became louder and louder as the weight of all his problems and pain started to come down on him.

Lightning sat on the edge of the stage, lost in thought. His blond hair was messed up and dried blood covered his face. A paramedic had come up and fixed him up earlier, but he was still in slight pain. He wouldn’t tell anybody though. He felt and heard somebody sit down next to him. He couldn’t move, even with how much he wanted to.“Well, today was eventful huh?”
Lightning internally relaxed when he recognized the voice as Sheriff. But his body was still stiff and unmoving.A few police cars sped by, Lightning shivered.“Spies… wow.” Sheriff chuckled, Lightning didn’t find it very funny. His friends were hurt. His FAMILY was hurt.Lightning gained enough will-power to look over at Sheriff. He immediately diverted his eyes when he saw the injuries Sheriff had gotten. They were so much worse than his.All because he decided to use allinol for the final race.‘It’s my fault. It’s my fault. It’s my fault.’ Lightning chanted in his head. He let out a shaky breath. His breathing became rapid and way too fast.Sheriff gently placed his hand on Lightning’s shoulder.Wrong move.“Let me go!” Lightning practically screamed, scrambling away from Sheriff. Sheriff retracted his hand. Sheriff turned to something. Lightning followed Sheriff’s gaze.EVERYONE was looking at him.Lightning’s breaths became faster, he hid his head in his arms. His heart pounded violently in his chest.“Lightning, it’s okay. You know you’re safe.” Sheriff said gently, as if speaking to a child.Lightning knew he was safe, but what about everything else?He was specifically targeted for murder. He nearly saw his best friend blow to smithereens after just getting him back.He was tricked. He was attacked. He was to blame.Lightning looked up at Sheriff.“I’m sorry.”“For what?”“For causing all this.”“You didn’t cause this.” Sheriff sighed.“I did!”“No you didn’t.”Lightning was silent. Sheriff slowly and carefully pulled himself so he was sitting right beside Lightning. The blond hesitated, but rested his head on Sheriff’s shoulder.“You’know you gave those scoundrels some pretty decent bruises.” Sheriff admitted. Lightning lifted his head.“Really?”“Yeah, one was crying.” Sheriff smiled.Lightning had to stifle his laughter.

Well.He was just thrown into this now wasn’t he?Lightning yelped when somebody grabbed his fire suit collar and pulled him away from the middle of the fight. And then punched him in the side.Lightning hissed in pain before throwing a punch of his own, he then grabbed the attacker’s jacket and threw him onto the floor. He felt somebody grab his legs and pull. Lightning went face first into the road. Thankfully, Lightning couldn’t feel any pain since adrenaline filled him.But he would be in a world of pain later.Lightning kicked the other attacker in the private area, the attacker fell and groaned in pain.He didn’t know what the hell was happening, he didn’t know where Mater or those two strangers went, all he knew was that he was fighting for his goddamn life. Oh yeah, and the rest of Radiator Springs were here.Lightning felt a hand grab the back of his neck and hold him down, he tried to grab the hand and pull it off but it wouldn’t budge. He was pinned down.A boot came down on his calve, Lightning screamed and tried to kick, but he couldn't move his leg. He looked back at the man holding him down, Lightning clenched his teeth and elbowed the man in the face. He was let go.Lightning hissed as he lay on the ground. He gently placed his hand on his leg, when the man had stomped it, it had cracked. He looked over to see the man get up and pull out a gun.“Shit.” Lightning muttered. The man didn’t have a chance to shoot Lightning, or whatever he had planned to do with that gun, as he had been put into a chokehold by Mater.Lightning stared as Mater brought him down. Once Mater had knocked out the man, he turned to Lightning and smiled. He put a thumbs up, Lightning was lost for words.Lightning hissed again, he felt around his leg, it felt wrong. Like it was bent or something. It felt broken.

“What the hell is this, like a giant meat grinder?”“Oh don’t worry, you’ll see Agent Turbo.” Grem gave a deranged smile. Leland had an unamused expression. Leland noticed Acer was setting up a camera. Leland pulled on the chair he was bound to, it didn’t move.Once Acer finished preparing the camera, he stood up straight and pressed record.“So, Mr. Leland. Why are you here?” Grem asked. Leland scoffed.“Why would I tell you?”Grem presses a button, the roof above Leland comes down an inch. They were going to crush him.Leland took in a breath.“That doesn’t scare me.” Leland smiled at the lemons. Acer grabbed a large taser from a crate, and smashed the end into Leland’s stomach. Leland groaned in pain.“Ffffuck you.” Leland hissed, his words elongated from the pain he was experiencing.“Again, why are you here?”“To teach you guys a lesson.”Another smash into his stomach, this time the taser had been turned on.“Who sent you?”“Myself.”He was tazed again.“What is your goal?”Leland mustered enough strength to kick Acer, Acer went stumbling back. Leland laughed despite the agonizing pain rattling through his ribs.“That’s it.” Grem muttered before slamming the button that brought down the roof above Leland. The roof came down and forced Leland to hunch over, the chair started to squeak and break under the pressure.“Again, what is your goal?”“You’ll never know.”“It doesn’t matter, just do it Grem.” Acer nudged Grem before crossing his arms in enjoyment. Grem hit the button again. The chair broke and Leland was forced onto his hands and knees as the roof came down even more.Sorry Finn. The roof came down one final time.
A few days later, CHROME would receive the horrid video, sent by one anonymous person. Too bad they’d never find out who actually killed Leland, since Grem and Acer’s voices had been scrambled in the final video.

Lightning looked at the small box in the corner of his closet. He had decided to burn it.It may be a stupid idea, but it was time to put the past behind him.So what if he hadn’t healed from it?He pulled out the box for one final check before taking it to get sent up in flames. Lightning pulled out some old school books, old posters of some of his favourite racers and a few photos. He pulled them out, he examined the school books, they were useless, he threw them back in the box. The posters, he pulled them out.One was of Doc, when he was younger, Lightning decided to keep it. Lightning flicked through the others, The King, Dale Earnhardt… He kept them.He came to the photos, the blond pulled out the first one, it was labelled “Baby Monty”. He looked at it, his father had been cut out of the polaroid, Lightning remembered doing it. He stared at his mother before putting the polaroid in his pocket. He looked through the others, the ones of his father, he threw into the box, so they would be burned. Lightning kept the ones of his mother and him. Once on the last one, he smiled at the small photo of his mum.“Well, I'm flattered.”
Lightning spun around, he accidentally dropped the picture of his mum. Doc leaned in the doorway, looking at the poster of him sprawled on the floor. Lightning snatched the Hudson Hornet poster and stuffed it under his bed.“I thought you had manners and would knock.” Lightning stated, he picked up the picture of his mother.“Who’s that?” Doc asked, walking over. Lightning hid the photo in his pocket.“None of your beeswax.”“The King, Dale too?” Doc asked, going through the posters. Doc noticed the photos in the burn box. He looked at the torn ones, a man with sharp blue eyes was in them.“Is that your dad?” Doc asked.Lightning was silent.“Is he gone?”“Psh! I wish! He could rot in hell for all I care.” Lightning snapped at nobody. Doc picked up one of the pictures.“So he is your father.”“Yeah, but only by blood, he means nothing to me.” Lightning said, it felt refreshing to finally get that off his chest.Lightning absentmindedly rubbed the old scar on his shoulder, the one his father had given him.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Lightning sat down on the gravel and ran a hand through his blond hair. He looked down at his phone, a cracked screen stared back at him.Lightning sighed, he looked up at the stars. He had a race in a few days, maybe it’d be fine if he just laid down and didn’t get up tonight. He loved racing, but now it felt…Wrong…Without Doc, he didn’t have anybody to annoy after a race. And he didn’t have anybody to guide him like Doc did.Lightning sighed, as much as he just wanted to lay there and let something eat him, he got up and started to walk to his car.The 95# had been taken out of the museum for the time being and used as a regular car, Lightning didn’t have the mental strength to enter the museum and return it anytime soon.Lightning climbed into the 95# and turned the keys, the 95# didn’t start. It was out of fuel.“Just my luck.” Lightning hissed and face palmed, he kicked the 95# before climbing out. He pulled out his shattered phone, trying to turn it on. It refused.Lightning sighed before shoving his phone in his pocket. The blond started the long walk back to Radiator Springs, he could see the neon in the distance. He’d need to get Mater to tow the 95#. He wasn’t ready to hang out with Mater yet, though the guilt had been eating at Lightning all month.Maybe it’d do him some good to talk to someone at least.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“I heard something about a World Grand Prix participant and four time piston cup winner in town, any idea where I can find him?”Lightning looked up from where he was sat on the floor, he smiled when he saw who it was.“Nice to see you too Bobby.” Lightning let out a tired huff before standing up and hugging Bobby.“Oh man, what happened to your neck?” Bobby asked, genuinely concerned. Lightning looked down at the new scar he now possessed.“You didn’t see?” Lightning asked, confused. Cal walked up next to Bobby. He had on the most “What The Fuck” expression ever.Apparently, Bobby hadn’t watched the news covering the last World Grand Prix race in London, but Cal had.Cal asked a million questions, the most repeated one being “Are you okay?!” and “Why did you pick allinol you idiot?!”.
Lightning cleared his throat.“I can explain over a walk.” Lightning suggested. Bobby, who was still in the dark, pulled Cal with them and they started to walk out of town. The trio made their way towards the forestry-desert area. Anytime Cal or Bobby visited, they preferred the trees that gave shade from the scorching sun until night hit.Though it was a bit of a walk from Radiator Springs…“So, an explanation as to why you were nearly murdered please?!” Cal asked desperately. Bobby laughed.“Don’t be so dramatic Cal, it’s just a scar.”“Bobby shut up, you didn’t even see the guns.” Cal flicked Bobby on the back of the head. The word ‘Guns’ got Bobby’s attention.“Guns? What guns?” He asked, catching speed with Lightning.“Uhh, I may have been a target for murder.” Lightning smiled sheepishly at Cal and Bobby, the trio stopped.Silence.“Wow, you are an actual bad luck magnet.” Bobby commented before continuing to walk.“And that isn’t even the worst part!” Lightning added.“What could possibly be worse?!”ClickLightning, Bobby and Cal froze. They looked down at where Cal had stepped, a large bear trap laid right there.ClickCal had stepped in it.ClickAnd it was activated. The initial snap scared the daylights out of the trio, but the crack that came after was even worse.Cal yelped when the trap closed on his ankle and snapped it, the teeth dug into his flesh.“Don’t move Cal!”“What the fuck do you think I'm doing!?” Cal yelled, he started to tremble.“Bobby, back and get sheriff, tell him Cal is stuck in a bear trap.” Lightning pushed Bobby back towards Radiator Springs after he spoke.Bobby ran, Lightning kneeled beside the bear trap. He grabbed the teeth and tried to pry it open, but it didn't work. Cal tried to kick the bear trap open, that just made it worse.“O-okay, continue your story.” Cal weakly said, he needed a distraction from the pain.“What? You seriously want to hear that right now?”“Just tell me the damn story McQueen!”

Lightning let out a sigh as he stared at the wall. There was nothing interesting about it, but he just needed something to look at other than his phone. At some point Lightning moved to retrieve a glass of water. He looked at the curtain-covered windows, the sun was starting to rise. Lightning rubbed his eyes before staggering to the sink.He threw water on his face and fixed his hair.A few seconds ago he looked like he had fought a bear and lost, but now he looked like how he normally would. Lightning took a deep breath and walked through the door.
“What’s with the new schedule? You’re not much of an early bird.” Sheriff asked, looking up from his newspaper as Lightning walked through the doors of Flo’s diner. The blond walked over and sat next to Sheriff.Sheriff noticed the hint of red in Lightning’s eyes.“You look exhausted kid.” Sheriff put down his paper. Lightning mumbled something and rested his head on the table.“I’m fine, just slept a bit late.” Lightning muttered with a yawn.“Liar.”Lightning always was terrible at lying.“Yeah, yeah, so what? I’m fine, look at me.” Lightning lifted his head and faced Sheriff.“You look like hell.”“Good.”
Lightning rested his head on the table again, he heard Sheriff’s sigh.Flo walked up to the booth, she took a look at Lightning and smiled sweetly.“You look tired sugar, how about some cherry juice? That’ll wake you up.” Flo suggested gently. Lightning lifted his head and smiled.“Yeah, thanks Flo.” Lightning put his head back down. He heard Sheriff laugh a bit. “What’s so funny?”“Oh nothin kid.”“Mhmm.” Lightning wasn’t convinced but he didn’t question it.A few minutes later, Flo returned with the drink. She gently ruffled Lightning’s hair before walking away. He started to drink it.“So, when was the last time you slept?”“Oh, I don't know, days maybe? I don’t really care cuz who’s counting?” Lightning admitted, the Sheriff looked down at the cherry juice. That thing better do its job, because it was too early for this.

Lightning, who currently laid on the bed in incredible pain, smacked the ice pack out of Doc’s hand.“Kid-”“No.”“Your face is red.”“Like my car?”“No, not that bad.”“Then I’m fine.”Doc wished he had the power to ground Lightning. The blond acted like a child, so he should be treated as one.But right now Lightning just needed to rest and cool down, though that was hard considering the young racer refused to have anything cold on his head. Doc sighed before picking up the ice pack and trying again.
Lightning hissed in pain and tried to smack it off again.“Ow! Do you have anything that hurts less?”“Does it hurt?”“YES.”“Alright.” Doc pulled off the ice pack and got up to go get something. Lightning just laid on his bed and stared up at the ceiling. He touched his head, it was burning.Doc came back with a different ice pack, it was made of cloth and had a lid on the top. It was your stereotypical cold compress.Doc placed it on Lightning’s head, Lightning was about to smack it off like the other one, but stopped when he realized it didn't hurt like the other one. Lightning glanced at Doc, he was looking at the thermometer.“Thanks.”“No more training in high temperatures.”“No promises.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“Maybe we should’ve retired.”“A bit too late for that now.”Leland kicked up the water as it started to rise above his ankles. Finn tried to kick down the door. It wasn’t working.“If you escape and I die, wipe my search history with the global searcher.” Leland joked, he started to look around the room for anything to use. The room was empty. The room was a dirty white, pipes came in from the walls and they poured out water into the room. A one way mirror looked into the room. The water had risen above Leland and Finn’s knees.Finn pulled a pen out from his pocket and clicked it.“Help me over here.” Finn called over Leland. Leland trudged through the distressingly rising water. Finn put the pen up to the mirror. The water was at their waists now.“On the count of three, we both slam the pen.” Finn stated, Leland nodded and readied himself.“One.”The water rose.“Two.”The pipes that had gone unnoticed above them opened and poured down on them.“Shit!” Leland cursed as the water shot the pen down into the water. The water was now over Finn and Leland’s standing height, the duo now had to keep themselves above the water's surface.Finn took a large breath and dove back down to retrieve the pen. Leland took a breath as well, the water had reached the roof.Finn grabbed the pen and got it into it’s spot again, Leland pushed himself down and readied himself again. They hit it once, the glass cracked slightly. They hit it again, Leland instinctively gasped when the glass shattered and they were pulled out of the room.Water filled his lungs.Leland choked when air was available, Finn shook his head and staggered to a standing position.Leland hit himself in the chest, forcing water out, he wheezed. Finn kneeled next to Leland.“Leland, breathe.”It might have been dumb, but Leland had forgotten to breathe, he took in a long breath.“I think I'd prefer dying to that.” Leland said, Finn couldn't tell if Leland was joking or not.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“Hey buddy?”Lightning opened his eyes and looked up at Mater.“Yeah?” Lightning looked back down and put his head in his hands. Mater sat down next to Lightning.“Uh, well, it’s almost night time. You wanna go cow tippin?” Mater asked, putting a hand on Lightning’s shoulder.“You don’t have to if you don’t wanna.”Lightning took in a breath.“Yeah, okay.” He said.Mater smiled and stood up.“I’ll come get yah when it turns night.” Mater stated before running off, now with a bit of a skip.Lightning stood up from his porch and looked up at the darkening sky, he heard boots crunch and stop next to him.“Y'know, you don't need to check on me Sheriff, I’m fine." Lightning opened one eye to look at Sheriff. Sheriff sighed.“Can I come inside? I need to talk to you kid.” Sheriff said, holding his hat in his left hand. Lightning held his breath for a moment.“I’m not in trouble am I?” Lightning tried to joke like he normally would. But he was too depressed-sounding to make a joke that could land.“Come on, it’s getting cold.” Sheriff said, gesturing to Lightning’s front door. Lightning hesitantly walked to the door with Sheriff.“I’m fine.”Sheriff silently walked in and closed the door behind Lightning, they made their way to the living room and sat on the couch.“Sheriff, I'm fine.” Lightning’s voice was firmer this time.“Really? You don’t act fine.”“I am.”“I know you miss him, you don’t have to hide it.”Lightning was silent. What was he supposed to say? That he didn't miss Doc? Because anybody could see right through that lie.Sheriff ruffled Lightning’s blond hair.“If you don’t want to talk now, that’s fine. But when you do want to talk, just find me kid.” Sheriff said, standing up from the couch.“Yeah, okay. I’ll do that.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Lightning sat silently beside the hospital bed. He gulped, he didn’t want to be here, but did at the same time.“Normally I'd like the silence from you, but this is too awkward.” Doc said, carefully sitting up in the bed. Lightning looked over at Doc.Lightning opened his mouth to say something, but when nothing came out he closed it.“It’s okay Lightning.”“Monty.”Doc looked up at Lightning, confused.“Pardon?”“My ‘real’ name is Monty, Montgomery McQueen. Though I legally changed it a while ago.” Lightning finally confessed to someone. Doc laughed.“So should I call you Monty now?” Doc smiled.“Well, uh, no. That’s not my name anymore.” Lightning leaned back in his chair. Doc nodded and looked out the window, the sky was clear and the sun was bright.Lightning fiddled with his fingers.“You’re not going to… go, right?” Lightning asked, looking over at Doc.Doc was silent.Lightning shook his head and looked at the ground, tears formed in his eyes. He wanted to leave the room more than ever, but he was going to stay. He was going to stay here until it was over,Security would have to force him out if they wanted him to vacate.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Lightning, who was slumped on the floor, flinched at the sound of knocking at the garage door. He looked down at his bandages and Injuries.“Whoever it is, please go away… Please.” Lightning pleaded, he sounded as if he was going to break down at any moment. The garage door was slid open. And who’s standing there?Francesco Fucking BernoulliLightning stared at Francesco silently, Francesco crossed his arms and leaned on the sliding door.“Go away.” Lightning requested firmly before looking away and back at the tv screen. Francesco sighed and walked over to the old couch Lightning currently sat on. Francesco sat down next to Lightning. The TV played Doc’s crash, it was an extremely bad look for Lightning, but he didn’t care. Lightning fiddled with his grey shirt, he needed to distract himself and not speak. Francesco sighed.“Lightning-” Francesco started“What happened to calling me ‘McQueen’?” Lightning cut him off, he glared at Francesco. Francesco wasn’t going to take Lightning’s bullshit today and glared back. Lightning huffed and looked away.“Get some sun, you look terrible.”“Oh really? Thanks I hadn’t noticed!” Lightning states sarcastically. “And of course the first thing you do is insult me! Classic Francesco!” Lightning was getting increasingly irritated.“Lightning, please calm yourself.” Francesco held Lightning’s arm, Lightning flinched in response.“Don’t touch me!” Lightning pulled his arm away.“Do you know how it felt?!”“How much it hurt?! Physically and mentally?!”Francesco just listened.“What if I'm done?! What if it’s over?!”“It probably already is! I can’t even get into a car because I'm too terrified I'll crash again!”Francesco pulled the blond into a hug, Lightning started to struggle and try to push Francesco away.“Let go! Let go! No… please…” Lightning eventually stopped fighting and returned the hug, tears formed in his eyes.

Lightning stood on the edge and looked down from the edge. How easy would it beTo just take one final stepLightning took in a shaky breath and leaned forward. He’d obviously never do it, but the option was there.A few rocks came loose and cluttered down, Lightning gasped and stepped away from the edge.He shook his head, so what if he fell? Not like anyone would really stop him.But he knows they’d miss him.Lightning huffed and kicked a rock.Maybe I should take up on Sheriff’s offer.
