Sometimes, the sun was stunningly beautiful in the sky. Other times, its beauty was hidden by the darkness of the rain or snow.Today, however, the sun peeked right above the clouds, allowing one half of the sky to be bright and sparkling, and the other half to be dull and monotone.Marly and Calypso always found dates exciting, but it was even more exciting when the breeze blew Marly's fedora off. That preceded both of their dresses breezing up their legs as they ran to catch the hat. Marly nearly let the hat alone as it flew up into the branches of a tree, but Calypso knew that Marly looked absolutely bomb in a fedora, and they knew they had to get it back for her girlfriend. However, the tree was young, unstable, and fragile, and Calypso nearly broke a branch trying to climb on top of it. Marly laughed at her girlfriend's shenanigans."I'm gonna get it back for you, Mar," Calypso said with an anxious sort of certainty. The fedora had stopped atop one of the higher branches, and the tree was surprisingly tall for how thin it was. Somehow, Calypso had managed to find a few branches that could hold their weight."Don't hurt yourself, Cal!" Marly had called from below. In an instant, Calypso slipped from the branch and was unable to find anywhere to grab onto.Marly ran over to catch her partner, but Calypso's dress had caught the breeze, which suddenly made her fall a lot slower, and utterly majestic, as Marly would've described it.Calypso landed safely on her feet, and Marly looked up at the tree, attempting to catch sight of the fedora. It was nowhere to be seen."Awh, did it fly off? Oh well, I guess I can just-"Suddenly, Calypso extended a hand from behind her back that was holding the sparkly purple fedora. Marly's eyes lit up with excitement."Oh my god! You got it! I love you!" They exclaimed as they ran forward to hug Calypso, stopping the hug for a moment to equip her hat, and then continuing the embrace."Oh, ahah, it's nothing," Calypso laughed, yet still returned the hug. Marly squeezed her torso so tight that she thought she was going to spontaneously combust.Eventually, Marly let go of the other. "It... was a gift from my parents. They were trying to cheer me up sbout, y'know, not caring about my culture, and I think they mixed things up and got me a fedora, since the hat had a sticker saying 'made in China,' but fedoras are French, but it was still a sweet gesture, I think.""That sounds so cute, they're trying their best," Calypso responded."Yeah, and also, a little birdie told me that you think I look hot in a fedora," Marly winked.Calypso could've died of embarrassment right then and there. The sky had cleared up, and the sun sparkled from one side of the horizon to the next. Calypso was still picking twigs and leaves off of her dress, while watching Marly dance around in the breezy park.
