“Hey, wake up!”Brian slowly came back to his senses from the shake Ike gave him. They were in the conference room and a stare from Naz as she left reminded him they were just in a meeting, a meeting he fell asleep during. He’d probably hear about it from Rebecca once she was done with whatever important task she’d been assigned to do. She was always unhappy with him whenever he did stuff like this. “Ike, hi. What did I miss?” “We got the boring case.” “What?” “You were sleeping and I’m not the most assertive person so we ended up the last two for an assignment and that’s all that was left.” “You need to become better at getting what you want and saying things.” “You need to become better at paying attention during meetings.” “Well at least we got stuck together,” the words escaped Brian before he could even think about it. He hadn’t taken his NZT yet, hence the sleeping during the meeting. “Really? You like working with me?” “Um… yeah. I like working with everyone here. Though I think Mike doesn’t like working with me much, thinks I’m annoying or something. Crazy, right?” “Yeah, crazy… I felt a little like that at first, back at the beginning, but I warmed up to you. I like you now.”Brian smiled big, and a little mischievous. He stood up, inside Ike’s personal space. “Really? You like me?” “You’re a child.” “You’re the one who likes me.” “What can I do to make you shut up?” “I can think of something.”Brian stepped even closer and Ike sighed. “Fine.”Ike put his hand on the back of Brian’s neck and pulled him into a kiss. It was slightly annoying how irresistible Brian was to him. The man could be insufferable, but somehow Ike felt attracted to him anyway. Brian kissed him back, wrapping his arms around him to bring him even closer to him. It was good, Ike always felt safe in Brian’s arms, even though he was the FBI agent. “Guys, we’re at work?” Rebecca’s voice interrupted them. “It’s not enough that one of you didn’t pay attention to the meeting now you’re making out instead of working on your case? Unbelievable.” “Is it? Unbelievable? It’s me after all, you should expect such things from me by now,” Brian said, smirking in a way that made Ike’s heart flutter. “Yes, I should. Now go to work or I’m telling Naz you two should never be paired together again.” “Fine, fine, we’ll work.”Ike and Brian went to work, but it didn’t stop them from sneaking a kiss whenever they got a chance, like oops one of them needed a file next to the other and their lips just glued themselves together by accident. Working together was fun and they enjoyed it immensely.
