Alyssina Runestar had returned from the realms of death 3 years ago and things haven’t been the same. After Sylvanas Windrunner’s sentencing to rescue all the souls that were sent to the Maw and thanks to her forcing the possession of the Jailer upon him, King Anduin Wrynn had decided to stay behind at the Shadowlands due to his trauma and guilt for not resisting the Jailer’s dominance magic and doing his bidding which in turn caused him to hurt his friends.
However, this guilt was made heavier when he learnt that he had hurt Alyssina, his fiancée! After being freed from the dominance magic, when Anduin was told he hurt Alyssina, despite her best efforts to tell him it wasn’t his fault, he still shuddered at the thought of touching her after that. This hurt her deeply as she had only just gotten Anduin back from the Jailer’s control and even Taelia Fordragon, Calia Menethil and Genn Greymane felt pity for the poor woman who only wanted to have her King back in her arms.

Alyssina had been staying in her room at the inn in Oribos after Sylvanas’ sentencing, not even wanting to face her beloved Anduin. She despised him for distancing himself from her and the only people who supported her were Bolvar and Taelia Fordragon, Calia Menethil and Genn Greymane.

Jaina shouted at her nephew, trying to justify the way she turned Alyssina away from Anduin multiple times throughout the whole week. "A week ago, you couldn't bear touching her nor talking to her, what changed?"
"A week ago, I was a COWARD, JAINA!" Anduin yelled back, his blue eyes welling up with tears. "I hurt her that badly that I couldn't face her nor look at her without replaying in my head what I did to hurt her! I was planning to make amends but now you've ruined my chances!!”
“Anduin, listen to me. It is better if you and Alyssina remain apart!” Jaina put her foot down as she argued with her nephew. “Besides, I don’t know what the hell you see in her anyway! She was just a stripper with a meaningless life when you met her. She doesn’t belong among royalty.”

The mage was speechless, as well as Genn Greymane, Taelia and Bolvar Fordragon and all the other residents in Oribos who overheard Anduin talk so passionately about Alyssina. “Anduin…I didn’t know that-“
“Of course you don’t know. How can you know anything about a relationship if you can’t even keep one?” Anduin scoffed with a cold tone and he neared Jaina with a scowl on his face. “I hope you know that you destroyed the woman who was not only meant to be the Queen of Stormwind, but was also meant to be my wife. After his emotional outburst and argument with his aunt, Anduin pushed past Jaina and stormed his way towards the inn where Alyssina was staying and on the way, he had to try and compose himself as he let his emotions get out of control and that he thought Alyssina might've heard him yelling. Taelia tried to stop Anduin but Bolvar held her back, knowing that Anduin needed to see Alyssina.
In Alyssina's room, she was crying silently at the thought of Anduin not wanting anything to do with her, as Jaina had kept telling her. She fiddled around with the engagement ring he had given her when he proposed and she thought back to her memories with him; How they met, when they fell in love, when Alyssina quit being a stripper and when Anduin proposed to her. The ring consisted of a platinum band with a sapphire delicately shaped into that of a rose, symbolising Alyssina's favourite flower; The Starlight Rose.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she heard a knocking at the door to her room, but she didn’t bother getting out of bed to answer.
“Alyssina?” A familiar voice was heard from the other side of the door and her heart jumped as she recognised it was Anduin’s! “Can I come in...please?”
The way his voice sounded was as if he had regret and sorrow for hurting Alyssina by avoiding her. Little did she know, that it hurt Anduin too that he couldn’t touch her nor face her without the trauma he endured resurfacing.

The moment she opened the door, Anduin could clearly tell she was dismayed as he could see that her eyes were bloodshot red, aside from the iris in her eyes being a dark chocolate brown. The estranged woman let Anduin in but not before she laid back on her bed facing away from him, her body visibly shaking like a leaf as she was still angry with him.
As Anduin closed the door behind him, the sight of Alyssina being in distress hurt him deeply and he was scared of accidentally saying the wrong thing.
He sat down at the edge of the bed Alyssina was laying on and he looked at her as he began to hesitantly speak. “I…I wanted to thank you for…saving me from the Jailer’s influence.” The young king’s voice was shaky as he was afraid of what Alyssina had to say. "It was terrible being under his influence and I...I was scared that I would lose myself completely."
No response. Anduin continued speaking as he knew he had a lot to say to her after avoiding her for a while.

I have lost faith in myself and I'm afraid for if I call on the Light, it won't answer me. I must face what I have done and-”

“I-I do remember that, Star Blossom, but…” Anduin breathed as he thought about what she said but then he had a flashback to when he was under the Jailer’s control and he was reminded of when he hurt Alyssina. “I…I don’t know…”

Alyssina stopped before the portal to take one last look at Anduin, her tears spilling over even more as she mouthed to him. "Return home to me...please..."
Anduin nodded as he watched Alyssina mouth the words as he did the same thing. "I will, my love. I'll come home to you..."
With that, Alyssina stepped through the portal as Anduin watched his beloved disappear with a heavy heart, falling to his knees as he shed tears with a silent cry. Alyssina did the same in Stormwind but her cry of anguish could be heard for miles, Taelia rushing over to hold her tightly as her friend was in untold terrible pain.
