STEVENS POV☆(we never thought it would come to this…)……………………………………………………………………………………………………….........................................................................................................................................................................................Me and Connie continued chatting while I drove, I had smiled as I looked over and saw a sign that read “you are now entering beach city” and sighed, “I can’t wait to see them again” I told Connie as she looked over and smiled at me, “yeah I wonder how my parents have been.” I nodded and continued driving until I saw the beach and my old home. The gems must have decorated the house and put up a banner that said, “WELCOME BACK STEVEN!” which made me blush and smile, knowing that they were so excited to see me again. I put my car into park and me and Connie both got out and went up the stairs and open the door which resulted in me almost getting knocked down the stairs by amethyst who tackled me with a hug and a ginormous teary-eyed smile on her face as I smiled back with a teary-eyed smile to, “WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH DUDE!” Amethyst basically shouted as I snickered, “I missed you all too.” I watched Pearl go over and give Connie a “welcome back” hug as Pearl looked at me with her big teary eyed “I'm so happy you’re back and okay” look. I looked over at Peridot who was standing there sniffling and looking at me with the biggest sobbing puppy eyes making it clear how much she missed me. I walked over to her, kneeled down to her height and gave her a big hug as we both cried in each other's arms and lapis and bismuth soon joined us in that hug. I decided to enjoy this day because tomorrow I would have to go and say hi to the diamonds and spinel. It's funny, once she stopped trying to kill me, I have always considered peridot like a little sister to me, her fits here and there, her height, and the fights we would have here and there, I wiped my tears then wiped peridot’s tears as she continued to smile at me. “So, what have you and Connie been up to?” Garnet asked curiously as Connie responded, “Nothing much, just schoolwork.”, “How's little homeworld been?” Steven asked as Pearl responded, “It's never been better! A bunch of gems have graduated and gotten new jobs in beach city, some are traveling the world to discover themselves even more!” It made my heart warm to know how great things are going in. Happily, ever after's really do exist after all. “Steven, Connie you guys must be hungry, why don't you come in and help set the table? Also, your parents will be here soon Connie.” Connie immediately beamed, “ah! Thank you so much Garnet!” *Garnet then continued to pat Connie's head, “no problem.”After we had finished setting up the table, we all went over to the couch and continued chatting about how life and college has been or how little homeworld has been.*30 minutes later*I heard the door open and saw Connie's face light up as she ran over and immediately trapped her parents in a hug. “Mom, Dad! I’m so glad you guys are still doing great!” Mr. Maheswaran looked at Connie and chuckled, “we aren't that old Connie...” Connie’s face immediately got red as she tried to explain herself, “oh nonono I'm sorry I didn’t mean it like that I just meant-” Her dad then cut her off with a laugh as he hugged her, “I was joking connie, no need to get all red on us!” we all laughed as Connie looked to the side blushing and embarrassed as she sulked “dad don’t embarrass me in front of the gems!”“Ok, ok well it's nice seeing you again, and steven...” he put his hand on my shoulder looking at me with an aggressive look making the gems tense up and ready to pull him off of me if needed. “You've been treating my daughter with respect, correct?”. “Y-yes Mr. Maheswaran I-” “oh stop giving him such a hard time!” Mrs.Maheswaran spoke, making him chuckle. “Oh, come on, he almost thought I had turned into a strict dad!” he slightly pouted, making me give a sigh of relief. “Why don’t we go eat?” I suggested and we all agreed as my dad walked in. “hey! Hope I didn’t miss dinner?” “DAD!!” I ran over and hugged him. “Where were you?! I was worried sick!” making Greg get a look of guilt. “Sorry kiddo didn’t mean to make you worry I had some work at the car wash that I had to deal with,” he apologized while patting my head. “So did I miss dinner?” he asked, and I shook my head. “No, you're actually right on time!”“Well,” Greg started, “let's eat!”After they ate“It's getting late, why don’t we head back home connie?”Connie's mom had suggested as she nodded. “Well, see you tomorrow then!'' She ran over to me, gave me a kiss on the cheek then left with her parents as I waved and yelled goodbye to Connie and yawned. “Glad I got a happily ever for all of us!” I exclaimed as everybody agreed. “I agreed to sleep on the couch so you could have your room back for the week your here” Greg said as steven picked up his bag and hugged his dad, “thanks dad! see you all in the morning!” all the gems came over and put their hand on my head, “good night steven.” garnet spoke. "Sleep well steven!'' Pearl exclaimed, “don’t let the gem bugs bite~” Amethyst teased, making me give a playful eye roll and chuckle. My dad came over and gave me one final hug before telling me good night.It was all going so perfect! Nothing could ruin this, nothing could go wrong!.............Right?..To be continued.
