That day was not very pleasant for young Raphael. The morning had begun with him sleeping through his alarm clock, inturn causing him to miss breakfast. That pissed him off because he almost never slept through his alarm. Then after being rudely awakened by Donnie nudging him painfully in his plastron, he was sent straight to training. Without a meal. Yay.Before they had offically began training, Master Splinter had yelled at him for being 'undisciplined and unfocused' or something stupid. He did try to be a good ninja unlike his fathers belifs. He just messed up that day. One day and he was forced to 10 extra sets of katas, which was his second piss off of the day. Which he'd found the punishment to be unfair because this was one of the only few times that he'd missed his alarm, while Mike missed his alarm almost twice a week and there wasn't even an eyelid batted. Not only that but he still hadn't ate that morning, and hunger began to claw at his stomach halfway through training. But hey, since when was life fair to him? After training just to be overlooked by his father, he wanted to relax. He settled for watching TV since he had already finished his extra sets of katas and it was his turn on the TV anyway. But of course, Mikey was using the TV. Because why wouldn't he do something that stupid that he knew would piss him off? And! When he had confronted him about it, he gave him this stupid, shit-eating grin and some stupid reason that triple pissed him off. He didn't really know what happened after that. His brain began to fog up and he had saw red. But by the time it had his brain began to function clearly again, Mikey was clutching his upper arm and staring at him with tears in his eyes. Sure, he probably shouldn't have punched his little brother, but it already got that stupid-ass smirk off of his face. Then Oh Lovely Leo, the favorite of them all just had to go snitch him. The fifth or sixth piss off of the day. Then Master Splinter yelled at him for it and made him do push-ups. He'd forgotten how many pissed off's he had by that point, but he was sure it was well over seven. After he'd finished his second punishment of the day, he locked himself in his room to crawl into his shell and die avoid any further altercations. He sat there for a while, sulking and petting his turtle, who occasionally bit at his fingers. He smiled as he picked him up and put him in his lap, and began to rub circles into his shell to try to sooth the thunderstorm of emotions rolling around in his head. He didn't want to confront anyone, and he knew that if he went out there and just one thing went wrong, than he would snap, so he had to stayed in his room.Hours had passed and he began to grow agitated and antsy. He convinced himself that if he stayed in the lair any longer than he would drive himself crazy. So he decided that he needed to get away from everyone. He continued to sit there, switching from petting his turtle to burnishing his twin sais.If he wanted to get away, than he would. That was when he'd decided to sneak out onto the surface. It was around 2AM when Raphael was ready to embark on his late-night escapade. Everything had gone according to his plan. He ate his dinner slowly, observing as his fathers energy drained by the minute, along with his siblings. He made sure to put up a fight about eating to wear his father out further. Not only that but he had somehow managed to rile his siblings up enough to play tag after they had been sent to bed. After that he'd finished his nightly routine and said goodnight. He'd sat there, waiting until the lair was silent, and heard little to no movement. He waited a little while longer after that, nervously pacing back and forth in his room debating weather or not he should go, and slapping himself in the face anytime he found his eyelids growing heavy. I've already grabbed my sais he thought as he grabbed his mask off of the top of his dresser and tied it around his head. He stroked his pet Spike on the head a few times before setting off on his 'quick' adventure. Surely no one would mind? He slowly slid his door open, taking great care not to make it creak by moving it to fast. He stepped halfway out of his room and paused to silently observe his family's heavy breathing before creeping out into the hallway, forgetting to shut his door. The lair was dark and the dojo doors were no longer lit from the inside, indicating that Master Splinter had fallen asleep already.Once he reached the end of the hallway he paused again, listening for the sound of snoring. When he was sure that he was in the clear, he slid his third eyelid over his eyes and silently darted across the lair. He approached the turnstiles and jumped over them with practiced ease.Once he had stepped out onto the sidewalk outside of his home, he turned back around."What if I don't come home..?" He murmured to himselfThose words sent his brain into a spiral.
What if I don't come home?
What would happen to everyone?
Would they be sad?
Would they even notice.?
He pushed the uncertainty to the back of his mind. If he kept thinking things like that than he was sure that he would chicken out. And Raphael was no chicken. He turned around to face the dark, narrow tunnel ahead of him. There was no going back now. He'd been walking for what felt like hours, taking different turns down different culvert's, hopping over exceedingly large piles of sewage, resisting the urge to scream as loud as he could the moment he saw or felt a roach. The tunnels began to get slightly brighter the longer he traveled, until he unknowingly wandered underneath a patch of multiple glowing holes on the ground. Confused, he looked up and noticed the manhole a few feet above him. A giddy smile etched it's way onto his face and his tail began to thrash back and forth. He unconsciously slipped out a chirp of egarness as his body began to tremble with excitement. He slowly began to ascend up the slippery ladder.Upon reaching the manhole covering, he pushed it up and out of his way, desprate to discover what the surface had to offer. The little turtle gasped. "Woah.." He said, awestruck. He was in an alleyway. Trash was strung out in different directions and the smell of cigarettes was horridly potent, but to him it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.He crawled the rest of the way out of the hole and noisily slid the covering back into place, entirety forgetting about stealth. He held his hands together as his tail thrashed harder. Excitement and dread pumped through his veins as he walked out of the alley and into the street. He walked around for a bit before spotting a hand made out of a pink light. Then is flashed into a teal eye in the center of the palm. It continued to flash back and forth, putting Raphael in an amazed trance. He shook his head aggressively before walking away from the glowing hand and heading further down the street. He continued walking down the street, studying different knicknacks and objects he'd saw in store windows until he met an intersection of roads. He decided that he wasn't going to go any further than the street he was on and that he'd had enough adventure for that night. He turned around, retracing his steps to go home. He turned out his surroundings as he began to backtrack. He continued his walk back down the street. He smiled to himself as he thought of how jealous his siblings would be if he told them about his Midnight Escapade he had set out on.His tail began to slow to a steady wag as he passed by a building that smelled absolutely delicious. However, just as he was about to go investigate the intriguing smell, a car door slammed behind him, startling him out of his thoughts. His whipped around without his teeth bared, ready to take on whatever had approached him. His snarl faltered a bit as he four humans came into view from around a silvery white van. They all wore the same long, white trench coat, black pants, nurse gloves, masks, and one of them carried a clipboard. The thing that stood out most about them though, we're their stash of weapons that they adorned around their waists. He growled at them, hoping that they would get scared and run away and leavehimalone. They did not. The three of them stared, and the (nurse?) with the clipboard whipped out a pen and began to hastily scribble something down onto it. He shrank, not that he would ever admit that though. His eyes widened and his heart began to pound in his ear slits. He eyed the four if them cautiously and hissed at them. He took a step back as the nurse began to write again. And another step back. And another step. And another. And another.Until his shell bumped up against the brick building holding the amazing scent. The nurses stared at him, and he glared back. They stood there for a few minutes of both parties staring the other one down. Then unexpectedly, one of them took a gun out of their belt and shot him in the arm. He flinched at the sudden pain in his arm and looked down to see a fuzzy yellow bullet sticking out of his upper arm. He cursed inwardly. The nurses looked at each other a few times before beginning to enclose around him. He narrowed his eyes, drew in as big of a breath that he could and hissed. It was probably the loudest hiss he'd ever made before. The three nurses froze in place, seemingly unsure of if they should still approach him. He glowered at them before reaching up and pulling the bullet out of his arm, which was surprisingly easy. He looked at them and scowled. The nurses began to sway back and forth, like they were on a ship over angry waters. His head had began to pound and his heart had clawed it's way into his throat. He unconsciously lifted up his hand and placed it in the side of his head. The ground swayed from beneath him, rocking back and forth in a steady motion. He felt something cold on his arm, jolting him out of whatever trance he had engulfed himself in.He looked over to see a nurse putting something even shiny onto his wrist. He hissed and stumbled back a few steps, only to crash into a solid figure. He looked up to see a pair of warm hazel eyes looking curiously at him.His eyes widened in fear as he felt something warm constrict around his arms, limiting his movement. He yelped in desperation as the ground swayed beneath him, bending and intertwinding in ways that he knew weren't possible for concrete. He felt his wrists unceremoniously clasp together with a loud 'snap'. He hissed and tried to twist away from all the movement and the confusion.
I want to go home.
He felt his ankles bind together in the same way his wrists had as his legs gave out in him, the only thing holding him upright was the firm grip the nurse had around his upper arms. He chittered in confusion as his vision blurred and became fuzzy around the edges. He could hear the nurses talking in muffled, far away voices but couldn't begin to fathom what they'd said. Black dots began to dance across his vision as he felt himself being lifted off of the ground. He screeched in a frenzied rage as his adrenaline provided him with enough energy to struggle against whatever was carrying him.The black dots began to rapidly expand and multiply, clouding his vision furthermore. He'd lost the feeling in his limbs as his fight disappeared, leaving a growling, fearful turtle in the floor of a...Van? He whimpered as the blotches of darkness fully encased his vision, plunging him into the abyss of his mind. The last thing that he remembered seeing were high black boots before his world went dark.
He just had to jinx himself..
Leo awoke to the beeping of his alarm. He pressed the dismiss button on top before stretching and throwing his covers off of him. He stood up slowly, listening to his joints pop as he stretched again. He yawned and rubbed his eyes with the palm of his hand. He began getting dressed, putting on his wrappings and strapping on his knee and elbow pads. He grabbed his ocean blue mask and tied it onto his face, warmth spreading through him at the familiarity of it. He grabbed his katanas from off of the wall and placed them into the slits in his back. They would need to be sharpened and polished later. He opened his door and stretched again. He stepped out of his room and looked around, noticing that his immediate younger brothers door was open.Letting his curiosity take hold of him, he exited his room and closed the door before stalking across the hallway to cautiously poke his head into his brothers room. "Otōto?" He asked quietly, making sure that if he was still asleep, than he wouldn't wake him. He looked around, noting that his brother was not in his room. He frowned in concern as he pulled his head out of his room. He decided not to worry, for he couldn't have gone anywhere.
He's probably just in the bathroom or something.
Convincing himself that that was the case, he trotted out into the kitchen and began to haphazardly climb up onto countertop. He drew himself onto his tiptoes to reach the cereal on top of the refrigerator. Grabbing the box, he got down off of the counter and began to make himself breakfast. He grabbed a spoon from the kitchen drawer and sat down in one of the stools surrounding the kitchen island. He chewed, his mind drifting back to his brothers adjacent door. Where is he? He thought to himself. He shrugged the thought away and continued eating his cereal. "Neeeuuuuroooomm-"His peace was disturbed as his boisterous youngest brother ran into the kitchen with his arms out making airplane noises."Hi LeeLee!" His brother smiled at him, plopping onto the stool next to him and kicking his legs out enthusiastically. He smiled at the genuinity and waved at him, making his smile brighten even more. "Can I have sooommmeee???" He drawled, leaning closer to the eldest and pinning his baby blue eyes into Leo's navy blue's.He nodded and pointed at the cupboard harboring the plates and bowls, taking another bite. "Thank you!" He piped as he hopped down from the stool and darted over to the cupboard. The slow moving blob of purple and green caught his attention as Donnie groggily stumbled his way into the kitchen. He murmured a soft greeting to everyone before climbing onto the farthest stool and rested his head in the cold concrete of the countertop. Mikey rushed back over to his brother holding up a bowl and a spoon, grinning at him.He smirked in amusement as he grabbed the cereal box and poured it into his bowl.Just as Mikey began to take an exaggeratedly big bite, they heard their fathers panicked voice. "Have you all seen your brother?"They looked up at each other in confusion before simultaneously answering no. That's when the icebreaker hit Leo. Raph was gone.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
He huffed as he laid on his shell, staring at the TV in disinterest as he watched Crognard charge forward to fight three blocky pink aliens with yellow eyes and tenticals. He groaned and rolled his eyes away from the TV, stretching his arms out in above him before pulling back to vigorously rub at his eyes.He was bored. He continued rubbing his eyes until the darkness transformed into blotches of colorful nonexistent shapes behind his eyelids. He stopped rubbing and declared to himself that the only way to end the bordem that suffocated him was to go harass his brother."Ughhh, I can't take this anymore! LEOOOO!" He yelled, hoping that his brother could hear his plea.To his pleasure, he heard his brothers voice drift from out of his room. Unable to make out what he said, he took his opportunity and rolled off of the couch, landing on the floor with an 'Ooof!' before quickly recovering and setting off to his brothers room.Upon arriving infront of Leo's door, he quietly peeked his head into the bedroom to see Leo sitting on his bed in a Burmese position, eyeing him with curiosity and slight irritation."Hey Leo! Whacha doin?"He watched his eyes narrow before he answered curtly."I was trying to meditate.""Well, since your not anymore, you wanna watch TV with me?" He said, oh so innocently.Leo quirked his brow."Who said I wasn't still trying to?""You.""What?""You said you were trying to meditate, but now your not anymore."Leo opened his mouth for a few seconds before closing it again, obviously unable to argue his point any longer. Mikey smirked at his victory, while Leo still looked thoughtful."Do you want to or nah?" He inquired again, this time letting his tone be less demanding and more curious. His brothers attention snapped back into focus, something subtle in gaze."I'll come by in 20 minutes, is that good?"Mike was caught off guard by the abrupt switch from sarcastic to gentle, causing his response to be delayed. "O-oh yeah. That's cool." He fumbled for a quick response, trying not to make it awkward. There was a pause."I'm gonna go then. I'll be on the couch.""Alright then, later Mike.""Later."He stepped back from his doorway and proceeded to tread back down the hallway to the couch, confused by what had just transpired. He bolted upright from his desk, instinctively muttering "I'm up!" to no one in particular. He blinked blearily a few times before he groggily looked up and scanning the room for anyone that might have entered while he was unconscious.Seeing that there was no one there, he sighed and looked at his darkened computer screen. "How long was I out..?" He said to himself, looking at the clock on the bottom of the screen. 12:37 PMOnly a few hours, thank God. He thought as he slowly rose from his office chair and stretched, feeling his bones pop. He stamped down on his heel and yawned in contempt. Grabbing his half-empty cup of coffee and his homemade laptop, he slowly walked around his desk and made his way to the lab doors. He was temporarily blinded by the sudden exposure to light as he stepped out. Adjusting his eyes, he looked around to see Mikey and Leo sitting together on the couch eating noodles and popcorn while watching Cars 2. He smiled, happy that the two were bonding, but slightly offended he wasn't invited. What am I thinking? Leo wouldn't have let me in anyways without complaining about my 'lack of sleep'. He reassured himself, but he still felt the sting of it.Leo looked up from the movie and at him. He smiled, motioning for him to join them from over Mikey's shoulder. He held up a finger, telling him to wait as he walked around the pit. He trudged his way into his room, grabbing his long, furry white blanket before heading back out into the living room, down into the pit and onto the couch. When Mikey noticed him, he gave him a large toothy grin, lifting up Donnie's solemn mood. He smiled back, feeling lighter. Leo raises his right arm, silently inviting him to scoot closer to him. He looked up at him affectionately before nuzzling his way into his armpit and resting his head onto his big brothers plastron. He felt a semi-warm arm wrap around his shoulders. He let out a churr of contemptness. He wrapped his blanket around his lanky body and set his coffee on the floor. He pulled up his legs and grabbed his computer, setting it on his lap and opening it. He turned the brightness down to the lowest setting, considering his siblings and the movie. Comfortable and warm, he scrolled through his notifications on his laptop, skimming through the pop-up ads and the emails back and forth between him and April. Just as he was deciding that it was enough for the day, he saw a pink highlighted email with a warning emoji in the top right corner. He furrowed his brow and clicked on it, his light mood melting away into a concerned frown. When the email had opened he noticed that the message had been encrypted. He sat up, any lightheartedness he had retained from before melted away. He growled softly as his upperlip curled in anger and confusion. Leo, being the mutant that he is, noticed his mood swing and gave him a concerned older brother look. "Donnie? Everything okay?" He asked him, his eyes being the only thing betraying his worry as he kept his body netural."Huh? Oh yeah. Yeah yeah uhh. I-I.. I think so." His brain to focused on the email to properly form a sentence. He gave him a disbelieving look at he scooted away from Mikey, who whined at the loss of heat around his shoulders. "What's wrong?" He asked him quietly, trying not to disturb the youngest who was still egearly engulfed in the movie. Donnie swallowed. He didn't want to get him riled up for nothing, but he couldn't just leave him in the dark about the whole situation either."I uhh, I intercepted an email sent out by the Kraang. I don't know what it says yet though."Leo's gaze shifted back and forth between the computer screen and the keyboard, watching as he began to rapidly type in codes that he knew Leo couldn't understand."Well.. What do you think it means?" His brothers gaze shifted back up to him, distress showing through his navy eyes. He looked up at him, matching his gaze. "Honestly, nothing good." He sighed, looking back down at his computer and continued his decoding process.Mikey appeared a few seconds later, perching his head on Leo's shoulder."What'sup with you guys? You look like someone just stole your pizza." He said, glancing from one anxious face to another."Hopefully, it won't be anything to worry about." He responded, willing his voice not to show the anxiety crawling around in his stomach. Mikey's eyes narrowed at him, scrunching up his face into a pout."You guys aren't telling me something." He said, his glare shifting from a focused Donnie to a nervous Leo."What is it?''Leo cleared his throat, shifting away from the questioning gaze that bore holes into the side of his head. He leaned to the side a bit."Uhh, it's nothing to worry about, right Donnie?" He looked over at his younger brother in expectancy, only to find a hunched over, blanket coated brother paying him no mind. He huffed and glared at him in betrayal. Only then did he look at him. "Oh. Uh, what did you say Leo?" He asked. He stared at him and sighed, craning his head around to meet the searching baby blue eyes on his shoulder."Uhh, Donnie got an email from the Kraang and he's trying to figure out what it says." He explained, trying his best to keep his voice calm. As expected, Mikey's eyes widened as he glanced over at his older brother. Donnie, who had ceased his insesent clicking, was staring all to intently at his computer screen.A few seconds passed between them before he sat up, a mass of different emotions showing. "Uhh, I just skimmed through it and uhh" He rubbed the back of his head."Their trying to have some kind of meeting with the Foot down by the docks. It's supposed to happen in a few hours." He looked at the clock again on his screen. One hour, to be exact." He said. A wave of unease washed over the three of them as they heard the sound of racecars coming from the TV."Are we gonna go? Technically it's not our problem." Mikey said, breaking the silence.Leo swallowed the lump in his throat as he began to speak. "We have to go. Whatever the Kraang are planning to do with the Foot can't be good." He reasoned, to himself just as well as them.Another few beats passed between them, before Leo stood up, Mikey's head moved off his shoulder as he did so."I'll go tell Master Splinter where we're going." He said."And I'll tell April!" Donnie piped. His eyes widened as blushed, looking away from them. Mikey giggled and Leo rolled his eyes with a smirk, amused by his little brothers anatics. His ear twitched at the sound of the opening doors, however he did not open his eyes to see who had entered."Master Splinter?" The voice of his eldest reached his ears.He opened his eyes and watched as Leo stood in front of him, before settling down into a kneeling position in front of him. He watched him in fondness before speaking."Yes, Leonardo?"Leo began to shift uneasily, his good mood began to fade sending his sons aura, leaving only concern replacing it. "Donnie got an email from the Kraang and we're gonna go down to the docks to go find out what their planning." Leo's gaze shifted up to him with uncertainty and determination."We just wanted to tell you where we were going invade you got worried or something." He said. Splinter noticed his heightened uneasiness about the situation. That is unlike him to be so disturbed by such little things. He thought, studying his sons movements and behavior. He let a few seconds passed before responding."I understand your need to see what is happening, Leonardo. Thank you for telling me where you were going, I hope you will all be back soon." He gave his son a reassuring smile, to which he returned."Thank you sensei. We won't let you down." And with that, he stood up and exited the dojo, closing the door behind him. He sat in silence, still wondering what had disturbed him so. Perhaps he would meditate on it...
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
He silently exited the dojo, feeling his fathers eyes bore holes into the back of his head as he shut the door with a slight click. His gut wrenched uncomfortability.Get it together Leo, you've done this plenty times before. Quit being nervous. He scolded himself as made his way down the stairs and back into the pit where his siblings were standing with their gear, ready to go. "What'd he say?" Donnie asked him as he approached the group. He noticed that the TV had been turned off and Donnie's computer and blanket were no where to be found. "He said he was glad I told him where we were going." He summarised, getting straight to the point. "What about the Kraang?" He inquired."I put in the coordinates the Kraang sent. It's by the seaport so we should be able to drop in unnoticed." He said, never looking at him."Also, I told April where we were going and she said to be safe." He said, this time looking at both lf his brothers."Okayy.. Is everyone ready?" He changed the topic."Ready dude!" Mikey exclaimed."Ready."He swiveled around on his heel to face the exit. "Than let's go."The darted over rooftops, their third eyelid over their eyes. Mikey was solely intent on doing front flips and somersaults in the tightest spaces that he could find while attempting to beatbox. "Hey guys! Did'ja see that one?!" He said enthusiastically, halting the music and grinning as he redirected his path over to his brothers. "Yes Mikey, I saw. You did great now can you please focus on the mission athand!" Leo answered pleadingly as they leaped over an alleyway, landing squarely onto the nearest roof. "Come on brah! Let a turtle live~" He said nonchalantly, but Leo did notice that the acrobatics ceased, however the beats continued. They moved through the rooftops, Mikey's beatboxing eventually ending while they took different shortcuts to reach the seaport before the other parties arrived. One by one, they climbed down from the apartment that they were resting on, plopping onto the ground almost silently. They crept in the shadows that surrounded them, the only thing visible was their milky white eyes. They approached the docks, boosting each other up onto the first cargo container they approached. Leaping from container to container, they stopped when Donnie approached an especially enclosed area and held his hand up. The other two froze, staring at him. Leo signaled for them to crouch, and so they did. "Is this the spot Don?" Leo whispered to him uncertainly making his scales prickle even more than the tension that blanketed them."Yeah, this should be it but I don't see anyone.." Donnie murmured, glancing uncertainty are his T-Phones blinking screen. "I don't understand..."
Thud.
Both heads whipped around to see an orange masked turtle laying face down."Mikey!" They hissed in union, Leo crouched down to check on the fallen brother while the other scanned the nearby surroundings, only to find nothing but the tops of the freight. "Uhh, Dee? We have a problem." The purple clad brother turned back to see a very distressed Leo holding a yellow tranquilizer dart in his hand. Oh fuck. He thought as he stared at the dart in horror. "Shit." He swore. He looked at his older brother, who had picked Mikey up off the ground and cradled him in his arms, checking his pulse. "Someone knew we were coming." Donnie said quietly, not caring if his fear betrayed in his voice. He felt a sting in his neck. Leo's eyes widened at him in horror as a dart lodged itself into cervix, only for a dart to shoot him in the same spot a few seconds later."Oh shit" He said as his vision began to convulse, leaving swirling blobs encasing the edges of his vision. Almost instinctively, he exited his tracking app and pressed the S.O.S button on his phone. He heard a lighter thud and looked up from his T-Phone, to see his older brother sprawled out on the ground with Mikey still resting in his arms. In his perifial view, he saw movement. His legs began to sway as dark figures began to approach him and his brothers. Even though he was beginning to loose feeling in his arms, he reached behind his back and pulled out his Naginata. He extended the blade and growled, letting his stance become defensive over his brothers. The figures paused, however Donnie's foggy eyes were unable to comprehend what they looked like. He tried to take a step forward, but as soon as his foot made contact with the the ground his leg gave out on him. He fell, his Naginata landing nearby with a clatter. His eyelids felt immensely heavy, like the time he had pulled all-nighters for four days in a row. His eyes shut against his will. He heard shuffling and a faint ringing before drifting off into an inescapable sleep. There was a buzz. Leo flexed his eye ridges as the buzzing grew louder and more distinct. He squinted his eyes open, temporarily unable to see due the the abrupt change of lighting. His head wrung as he opened his eyes into narrow slits. "Nggh" He blinked and groaned in pain. His body felt like it had been twisted and wrung out like a washcloth. His muscles were stuff and his limbs felt heavier than normal, like they didn't belong to him. He heard the buzzing come from above him. His head spun in circles when he'd tried to look up at the ceiling, to which he gave up.His vision began to clear, and he began to make out his surroundings. He was inside of some sort of cubical. The walls around him were pewter colored, while the floor was a bridgewater tan. He looked across the room, noticing the thick door looked to be made out of a steel. There were four prison beds, each against a different wall. He began to panic. Holy shit where am I? He sat up, despite the protesting of his head. He swiveled around, desperately looking for his siblings. Mikey was laying on his side a few feet in front of him, his arms sprawled out carelessly. Donnie was laying on the ground next to him, his light breathing the only other sound he could hear other than the persistent buzzing. He sighed in relief when he noticed that they were unharmed, except for the bruises in their neck where the tranquilizer's had hit them. He hissed as he rubbed his fingers along the sore spot. He put his hand down and then reached up and grab his katana.
They were gone.
He gasped, turning his stiff neck to face his shoulder. No katanas. No anything. All of his wrappings had been removed. His gear, his elbow pads, everything but his mask had been taken from him. He gritted his teeth together in desperation. This was not good. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm the thoughts that were tumbling around in his head. His brothers. Focus on his brothers. He leaned forward and lifted Donnie by his armpits, bringing him closer. Then he attempted to stand, failing the first time, succeeding the second. He stumbled his way over to Mikey, who was still unconscious. He grabbed him by his shell and began to drag him over to where him and Donnie were sitting. After a couple of tries, he'd managed to scoot him across the floor and lean him onto Dee. He sat there for a few minutes, before trying to meditate and connect with his father. He shifted his brother off of him and settled into a Lotus position, taking deep breaths to calm himself. As he began to picture his father on his knees, he was startled out of his trance by movement beside him.His eyes flew open as he heard a familiar groan. He looked over to see Donnie begin to move around. His mahogany eyes fluttered open and he groaned."Uunngh.. W-" His eyes became alert as his his deer-in-headlights look disappeared, leaving the well known Donnie's look. He knocked Mikey off of his plastron and onto his lap as he sat up.His mouth was slightly agape as his eyes darted from one area to the next, studying his enviorment. His startled gaze slowly drifted to Leo's concerned frown."Leo?" He questioned him. He smiled at him reassuringly. "Yeah little brother, I'm here." The look of relief on Donnie's face was obvious as his body untensed. Donnie's let out a shaky breath before making a gesture for his brother to scoot closer. Leo complied, allowing himself to be trapped in Don's embrace before returning it. "Where are we?" Donnie's voice was barely above a whisper. "I don't know Dee." He said quietly, glancing back up at his surroundings. Donnie's let go of his brother, before turning to the other one and shaking him violently."Mikey! Mikey wake up!" Donnie continued to nudge him until he began to stir."Aaaughh- What, happened." He murmured, his eyes moving beneath them lids. Donnie propped him up on his shoulder. Leo sighed as relief washed over him, but their threat of unknown territory quickly removed it's presence. "You okay Mike?" His voice sounded scratchy now that's his head had finally cleared, and here grimaced. Cautious baby blue eyed made their way up to his face. "Where are we?" Here whispered. Leo felt his heart break at the fear in his voice. This is my fault. I should have trusted my gut. Now my brothers are trapped because of me. Shit. He felt like killing himself crying. The guilt of putting his family in danger began to gnaw at his insides. But he had to stay strong, because he was their perfect leader. And his team needed him. So he gave him a shaky smile and muttered,"I don't know Mike." Donnie stared at him like he'd grown two heads. Then he snapped. "How the hell are you smiling?! We're trapped in God knows where with none of our gear, and no one to come look for us!" His brother whispered at him. Though he sounded angry, he knew his brother well enough to know that he was infact terrified. "Donnie I-" He was cut off at the sound of a click, and a door swung open. All three heads jolted to the sudden sound, revealing a hooded being entering the room. It snarled and twisted away from the chain around it's neck. It screeched and raises three clawed fingers, growling as the metal cuffs around his wrists kept his hands together. A masked man pushed the creature down and took off it's hood, revealing a pair of enraged turquoise eyes and a green head. The three stared in shock, before Mikey broke the silence with the one word that crossed everyone's mind. "Raph?"
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
He screeched. The metal bit into his hands and feet, simmering away his first, and probably second layer of skin. Tears sprung to his eyes but he refused to let his body relax, knowing that's they would allow the box to crush him if he did.
He wailed, hoping it's was almost over because it's hurt so much so muchsomuchsomuchsomuch-
Hey hissed as the heat intensified on the opposing wall, along with the pressure. Tears flowed freely down his cheeks as the heat turned up, up, up- The box began to press on him more. His shell felt like it had been lit aflame. He cried out to no one.
It was agonising. His tears began to evaporate as soon as the left his eyes. He caterwauled as loud as he could hoping to some celestial being above they would release him from this torment.
He was sure that hell was better than this. His breath stopped as he felt his ankle crunch beneath him, making the opposing wall crush him more.
He gritted his teeth and grunted at the pain, willing his body not to give out on him. His eyes opening was a mistake. The heat began to affect his eyes almost as soon as he'd opened them.
He squinted as much as he could, but keeping the open enough to look through the glass of the box that trapped him. The nurses stood there and talked. Writing down things and laughing occasionally.
It enraged him.
The box squeezed him, and the cuffs around his ankles and wrists burned into him, sizzling away his scales. He cried as the pressure intensified, unknowing how much longer he could take being squished to death by the tiny heated box.
The metal stopped pushing. He gasped, immediately regretting it as the hot air around him burned his throat and lungs.
Was he free? Was it over? Would they finally let him out of this cruel punishment?
Would they finally kill him?
It hurt. His ankle screamed at him. His hands and feet felt like the skin had melted onto the metal. He tried to pull his hand away, and something similar to glue kept it pressed to the metal, skin bubbling all the while. It had melted.
He roared in anger as he tore his hand off of the metal wall and slammed against the glass, the vibration being loud enough to catch the nurses attention. He flashed his eyes, attempting to hypnotize them to let him out to lethimBREATH. It did not work, and the smoldering tempature did not decrease. The bottoms of his feet felt damp, either because of the melted skin or the sweat he couldn't tell.
He heard a hiss as the glass above him popped out and slid away, letting the heat and hot air and steam out at once. He blinked.
He gasped, grateful of the cool air that froze his stiff lungs. He pulled against the chains that kept his limbs in pressing against the opposing walls.Tears fell from his eyes and onto the heater below him, sizzling away with contact. He felt his wrist and ankles click open, dropping him onto the oven-hot surface face first. The white-hot pain shot up immediately and he screeched, feeling like his flesh would begin to melt off his face.He scrambled back up, only for the heated metal to begin burning his already sensitive skin. He wallowed, torn between burning his extremities and burning the rest of his body. As he cried, he felt arms wrap around his torso and bring him upwards, out of the box and onto a table. A familiar terrorising and comforting smell drifted into his nose. They placed him down and he immediately began miss the sensitive touch. Though there wasn't anything he could do about it.
Not much you can do about anything, dumbass.
Tears sprung into his eyes and he blinked them away, not wanting to seem weak enough to be put back in that room. His claws dug into the sheet below him, ripping it to shreds while the sensitive skin on his hand protested against it.The nurses began to chatter amongst themselves, reaching for things across his bedding and setting them on a silver platter next to his right arm. He whimpered softly, wishing to himself that he could just go to sleep.
Wishing to himself to be free.
He closed his eyes and sighed, hoping that they would take him back to his cell and let him rejuvenate. They didn't, and he swore at himself for getting hopeful, knowing damned well they always tore him down.He felt a prick in his arm, looking over to see a nurse giving him something. He listened to them vaguely."He's not-""Just pass it. You-""How long is-""bit of Lidocaine should-""-not being soft!""Give me-""Back to his cell?""More trials must-""-silver sul--ine?"1-027 groaned at the sounds. It was grating his aurals. He held in a whimper as another prick came from the same spot. And a few more, none leaving more than a buzz in the spot they'd punctured. He felt blood begin to trickle out of his mouth, staining his teeth. 1-027 smiled at the thought of blood, despite the agony that jostled his bones felt. Especially his ankle. The fire had been dulled, but it still throbbed painfully and he was sure it was bloated. He realised that he had accidentally tuned the nurses chatter out, and went back to focusing on them to try and forget about his life the pain. "-can't test hurt! How-""-wants results. We have to-""-kle's fucking broke!""-send him back! We have testing to do!""-if he can't walk?""-ne more than we'll se-"He felt as something put pressure onto his ankle. He didn't hold back the earsplitting whine that had been sitting in his throat. He was beginning to loose feeling in his legs, dulling the pain of his shattered bone. He tried to sit up, only for leather straps to keep him on the bed. When did they strap him down? The world spun around him, threatening to tip everything over. He blinked the visions away, looking for his manager. He chirped, trying to get her attention. The familiar hazel eyes approached him, looking at him with something similar to worry. He just wanted her comforting presence around him. Maybe it would help the pain.
Kill the bitch.
He growled as he felt her gloved hand run over his flamed skin. The hand didn't flinch away. It hurt like hell, but he just wanted to fall into her arms and let the world disappear behind him. She was a danger to him, but also safe.
He just wanted to be safe.
Porcelain skin poked out of her long-sleeved shirt. He wanted to lean into the touch, but the strap against his neck prevented that. It angered him. Her eyes hardened as she stood up and walked away. His throat rumbled. He hated her. He hated her playing with how he felt, one moment being kind and the next shocking him until his neck began to smoke. He hated her. He wanted to kill her.
He wanted to kill everyone.
He snarled and twisted against the straps, his legs having gone fully numb. He saw red.Blood red. If he couldn't kill her, he would kill everyone else there.
Everyone.
His arm ripped out of the binding, catching the attention of the nurses, who crowded a round white table a few feet to the sidenof his bedding. He growled deep in his throat, feeling his chest rumble along with the sound. He slashed open the strap on the other arm, then on his neck. He sat up. The nurses had began to talking into little black boxes they held in their hands. Their small, easily broken hands. He didn't care to find out why or what the boxes were. He just wanted them dead. He wanted everyone dead.
You don't always get what you want. Please..
He bent over and clawed his legs out of their trapped position, and leaped into the floor, feeling his ankle bend in sickening ways.
He ignored the uncomfortability and charged forward, leaping at the first nurse he could reach. It screamed when he sank his claws into its arms. He dug his claws into it's chest and ripped it open, leaving three streaks of red across her blouse. It stopped screaming and stared at him unblinkingly. He stared back.
It's eyes pissed him off.
He dug his fingers into the sockets and ripped them out. He flung them across the room and began to mutilate the already dead corpse in front of him. He dug it's fingers into the jaw and pulled, listening to the satisfying crack as the jaw was removed. He looked at the item in his hands and dropped it uncaringly on the white and polished floor .
He stood up, feeling satisfied with the red that was on his claws and face. He looked down and noticed his plastron was red aswell.
His mind snapped back into focus, looking for the remaining nurses. They were all hazardously exiting the room, stumbling over one another to get out of his presence.
With a snarl, he darted over to them, his doubled speed helping him reach them faster. It screamed as he dug his nails into the the top of it's head, flinging it back across the white (now red stained) room. It landed with a crash. He turned back around to grab another one, which he was met with a closed door.
His blood boiled. He shrieked and threw himself at the door, pounding on it to let him out of the cursed room.
Let me out of the cursed room.
Let me out letmeoutletmeoutletmeoutLETMEOUT-
It didn't budge. He threw himself at it again and again and again, each time more wild and uncontrolled than the last. With a final shriek he barreled against it with all of his weight.
Still no give.
The sound of movement distracted him from breaking the door down. He whirled around to see the thing standing by the other door, frantically pushing something against a blinking box on the wall.
He could smell it's fear. It smelled amazing.
He smiled.
He roared, his smile disappearing as bolted over to it, knocking it off balance. It screamed as he grabbed it's arm, pulling and pulling and pulling and pulling until it came off.
It shrieked, trying to pull away, but the strength and the weight of 1-027 was overwhelming. His eyes widened at the sudden smell of blood.
His mouth watered at the scent of it.
He licked his fangs before biting into its neck, the fight from it slowly draining as he sucked out its blood, well, the blood that wasn't gushing out of hole the missing limb had once been in.
He continued to suck on it, feeling the loss of blood as time went on.
A crash startled him out of his feeding, drawing a startled growl from of him as he dislodged his teeth from the victims neck and wiped flecks of blood off his mouth.
He snarled, showing his blood stained teeth in warning while he stood up, favoring his right ankle over the shattered one.
Across the room from, a group of things with small black rectangle's pointed at him. He went to step forward, to attack and drain their life out of them, before falling with a yelp as his ankle crunched again and gave out on him.
He still couldn't feel his legs.
The things immediately stormed in, little yellow fuzz balls latching on to his shoulders and arms. He shrieked in rage as his wrists constricted to one another.
He tried to claw at whatever had put pressure on his shell, but found he was unable to reach it. Laying on his plastron, he struggled wildly against the touches and pressure on his body. Eventually he decided to cede to it, snarling and growling the entire time.
Something dark went over his head, tuning out all of the lighting and colors of his world. It was loud, and he could hear metal scraping as something drug past him. He whimpered in fear.
What would they do to him..?
The sound of yelling penetrated his ears, along with beeps and wheels coming back and forth. He yelped when he felt the familiar cold be placed into his neck, clasping together firmly with a 'click'.He heard the rattling of a chain as he felt his collar twist against his sore neck, while he squealed in protest. The chain attached itself to his neck moments before he was pulled up by his shell, hearing more chatter and metal scraping behind him. 1-027 was afraid. He heard voices, in his mind or outloud he couldn't tell anymore. He stopped being able to decipher real and fake a long time ago. He stood there, grinning devilishly at the sound of the angered and panicked chatter around him.
Suffer.
Die.
He was nudged forward. He growled and tried the attack whatever had involuntarily moved him, but was unable to reach or move towards it.He and the creature had begun to walk, the panicked flurrys of sound fading into the background as he trudged solemnly to what was hopefully his cell. They turned left and continued their march, the only noise heard was the buzzing of the invisible electric currents in the ceiling and other cells. He stopped, feeling uneasy before feeling a flash of pain around his neck, aggravating the already burnt and irritated skin. He snarled and twisted away from his captive, only to receive a stronger shock. He hissed and began to wriggle away of the grip around his shell. He snarled, hearing the click to his cell door. He raises his fingers to claw at the thing, hoping it would get the message and leave him alone. It didn't. He snarled, sensing an unfamiliar feeling in his room. He tried to twist away, only to be harshly shoved to the floor, making his head spin, and his bruised body hurt even more.
Whatever the thing was, he would kill it. Guarantee.
The darkness left him as a well remembered light flooded his eyes. He twisted his eyes up to see a masked man, making him growl.
Kill it.
He was about to attempt to hypnotize the guard that stared at him through some type of mask, when he heard a sound. A voice calling out to him."Raph?"
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
An persistent buzzing awoke her. She groaned, scooting her covers off of her arms and and rolling toward her nightstand. She impulsively hit the phone on her desk, which did not stop the bothersome noise. She grew annoyed and blearily opened her eyes, blinking at the darkness that surrounded her.She sat up and rubbed her eyes as they adjusted to the dark, turning to look at the phone that was obviously off and charging.. Confused, she looked around in search of the noise. It came from the other side of her room, which confused her more. She shuffled out of her bed and stood up to stretch. She turned on her phone and looked at the time.
1:05AM
She knew didn't set an alarm for 1AM, so she became even more frazzled about the unknown source of noise. She stopped moving in order to hear the sound better. It came from the direction of her coat. She fumbled over to it and began to irritatedly check her pockets. Finally, she felt the vibrating object in the inside pocket and pulled the thing out. It was her T-Phone. The screen was red with a warning emoji flashing in the center. An okay button was right below the emoji that couldn't stay still. A message began to read across the screen in the second yellow as the emoji. An S.O.S alert was sent by Donatello Hamato at 1:02 UST. This is not a drill. Please contact Donatello Hamato immediately for further details. To proceed press OK' button on screen and alarm will be disabled. The message then repeated it, continuing the buzzing the whole time. April felt her stomach drop to her knees.
What..
She knew exactly what she had to do. She pressed OK and out the T-Phone back in her pocket. She then darted to turn lights on. She was panicking.
What the hell happened to Donnie? Is he okay? Is everyone else okay?
Anxious thoughts jostled around in her mind. She flew around, taking off her nightclothes and slipping quickly into her day clothes. She put on her headband and threw on her dark brown trench coat. She scrolled through her contacts on her T-Phone to find Donnie's. He heart pounded as she found his name and presses the dial button, praying that he would answer her. It continued to ring until she heard an automated response come through.
'Hey it's Donnie! I can't answer the phone right now so leave message! Thanks!' Beeeep-
"Donnie where are you? Are you okay? I just got an S.O.S from you and it said it wasn't a drill. I hope it was an accident. I'm heading over there now. Please call me back. Please. Love you." she pulled the phone away from her ear and hung up.She slipped the phone into her coat pocket and pulled open her window. Though her Aunt didn't mind her leaving, she still didn't want her to know she was leaving at one in the fucking morning. She stepped out onto the rusty fire escape and silently descended down the stairway. She plopped on the ground. She scrunched up her brows, rembering the first time she has successfully so making no noise. Leo had congratulated her for doing so and she'd felt so proud of herself. She pushed the thoughts out of her head and rounded the corner, hoping that when she arrived at the Lair she would see him sitting somewhere telling her that it was a accident.
She hoped.
Trudging through the rundown railroad, she recognized chatter coming from the entrance to the Lair, telling her that she wasn't the only one who got the alert. She hurried into a jog and hopped onto the sidewalk beside her. She sprinted the remaining distance and slowed when she got to the turnstiles. She stepped inside, listening to the turnstiles click behind her. She then followed her ears to the continueous talking. The lab doors were shut, indicating that there were multiple someone's inside. She slid open the doors to be immediately hit with the sounds of raises voices. She closed the door and walked further in, noticing the Mighty Mutanimals and Master Splinter crowding around a table. "We should just go get em' now! Ain't no time to be waistin' around here when their out there in danger!""Yeah dudes! Those guys like, totally need their butts saved! And me saving them- ow! us, saving them would be so cool. Like, Mondo cool.""It would be wise not to rush into this unprepared. Like you all, I wish to rescue them quickly, but approaching them to quickly may be more prove to be more harmful than good.""I agree with Splinter. It is unknown to us what situation they're in and rushing to in may cause unnessasary attention drawn them. I would recommend calling them again before we begin to make any moves.""On it! I'm calling Leo now."Deciding to make her presence known, she spoke up. "Guys? What's going on?"Everyone tensed at the sound of a new voice and whipped around to face her. They untensed when they noticed her, and beckoned her over. "Hey Red. Did'jou get that S.O.S from Donnie to?" Casey asked, his face was etched with worry and she could see sweat slightly beading down his neck.
So he's worried about Donnie? Surprising.
"Yeah. I called him but it went to voicemail. What happened?""Leonardo came to me earlier saying that Donatello had received an email sent by the Kraang. He also told me that they were going to be located near the docks, though I do not know where." Splinter answered. He stroked his beard in concern and his eyes held a faraway look to them. Rockwell seemed to take interest in the mention of the email, for he had floated closer to the two of them. "Splinter, you said something about an email?" He questioned him with an inquisitive gaze. Splinter slightly perked his ears up at the monkey and responded quietly."Yes. I would presume that it would be located on Donatello's computer." He said, never meeting the golden eyes that dear he'd his face."Would you happen to know where I could find this said computer by chance?" Rockwell asked"I have not seen his computer recently, however he usually keeps it on his desk." he said, his eyes finally snapping out of whatever trance they were in and meeting Rockwell's imploring gaze."Thank you. I will try to decode his computer to see if I am able to access said email." With that, he turned and left, heading over to Don's work space.Seeing that the conversation had ended, she headed over to the arguing group that had slowly inched across the room, leaving Splinter to think. "We should head over there now! It's our best option!""Yeah dude! We gotta go over there! Cuz' they could be in like, serious trouble right now.""What he said! And I know if I were them that Leo wouldn't leave me hangin'." She walked over to Casey, Slash, Mondo, and Leatherhead all debating amongst themselves about what to do."Though I agree with your sentiments, I do not feel that rushing in is the right way to go. Among my time with the Kraang, I have found that though they fight poorly and act stupid, they are quite intelligent creatures. They pose themselves as harmless and stupid for a reason." Leatherhead explained to the group of angry worried teenagers."But we can't just leave em'! What if one of em'-""We don't know where they are Slash! We cannot afford to blindly follow what we believe to be their location!" Rockwell argued from across the room, fiddling with Donnie's computer."They may be over on the far side of the city for all we know. And yes, though it may not be easy to wait, it's the best possibility.'' He conitiuedApril sighed, uneasiness filling her body and knowing that the love of her life was out their in danger. Her heart was pounding in her throat and her arms felt weak as she pulled her T-Phone out of her pocket.
Please be okay you guys. Please be safe.
Her head throbbed painfully behind her skull as she noticed Rockwell looking fondly at the laptop."Hey, Rockwell? Have you gotten in yet?" She inquired, trying to distract herself from the dread and fear that swirled around her. Rockwell did not look at her but did respond as he continued typing codes info the computer. "I have gotten through the security checks and identification part of this, but I am having trouble locating the email that Splinter speaks of. I am only seeing you twos love emails currently." He said in a smug, matter-of-factual tone while smirking down at the screen. She could feel heat creeping up from her neck to her face. Why was he looking at that? "It's probably in the recent emails!" She snapped out in an attempt to cease the searching. They smug grin from before faded as he clicked on something aggressively and began to read the screen. She had a feeling that he was not reading their emails anymore, and cautiously approached the desk. A pink highlighted email was being scrolled through as the argument by the shelves continued a bit louder than before. She sensed his mood change as he skimmed through the email. She figured it would be a good time to call the others over, seeing as he'd probably found the email in question."Guys come over here! I think we found it!" And almost as immediately, everyone came rushing over to the pair. "I don't want-" Rockwell was cut off at everyone crowded behind and around them. He sighed in irritation before explaining the situation to the now quiet audience."According to what I have gathered, the Kraang have planned a gathering with the Foot down by the seaport. It seems that they were attempting to combine their forces. They were planning to meet at 1:00. What time was the S.O.S sent out?""1:05" She responded quickly.Rockwell seemed disturbed by the information."They waited no time leaving, as usual." He murmured the last part mostly to himself, but April had caught it only by their close proximity."I reckon that the Kraang had purposely sent this to them to draw them out. And if they did, they succeeded." He said gravely while glaring at the same screen in front of him. Looks of unease and bewilderment passed between everyone at the conclusion.A moment of silence passed before Slash spoke up from his position behind April. "Well we know where they are now why don't we go look for em'?" He said. Murmurs of agreement passed and April silently agreed, but did not want to voice her opinion."It would be better to leave now, yes. But we need supplies and a plan. More favorably a fool-proof one." The Dr clarified while Slash looked away from him. "Well, we could start by tracking their signal. And then we sneak out there and look for them." He reasoned with it sounding more like a question than a statement. While he debated it, Casey took the silence as an invitation to ask questions."What about cameras?" He asked, looking to Slash for an answer, and surprising everyone when Leatherhead answered instead."Perhaps you could hack the city cameras? For a few blocks radius of course, so we could sneak out without having to worry about being seen tomorrow morning." He said shyly while looking to Rockwell for answers. He looked thoughtful, and April could feel the cogs turning in his head."That could work," He paused before clicking in something on the laptop. A new window popped up that was completely black other than a few white words at the top. "I could do that." He said quickly, still typing and now putting in codes that April couldn't understand. A few minutes of typing passed before he boasted,"Cameras are down! We should be able to sneak around without being noticed as long as we're quiet. However" He said as they began to cheer, which quieted them down."Mondo, Casey, you both stay with me." He wanted for the cries of protest to quiet before continuing."April, Slash, Leatherhead, you all go. You are the most capable of silence and maintaining the element of surprise. You all have your T-Phones and I am aware of where Donatello keeps his earpieces. You all will take one of these with you." He reached in the drawer below him and pulled out three eaepieces, to which they all connected to the phones after obtaining them. "Do be careful and do not get caught. Report back to us what you have found and let us know if you need backup."They all agreed to call for help and began walking out of the Lab after saying goodbye to everyone. Some of which were desperately arguing with Rockwell about leaving with them, but to no avail."I'm pulling up the coordinates now." She said while pulling out her phone and opening up the GPS. She put in the docks and started a route. They walked out of the lab with a new goal, only to be interrupted by a static in their ear before heading Rockwell's voice come through. "Testing. Can you all hear me?" "Loud and clear." She saidUpon reaching the turnstiles, she silently prayed to Donnie.
Wherever you are, please be safe.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
My patience running thinner on this melting clock
Cerebrum jailed with thoughts, most would consider rot
To think you're any different from an animal
A creature sick as you should be put down
But I can't help myself
He slammed against the concrete wall, his head screaming for a rest. Blood dripped down the side of his head, tickling the bruised scales below. He grimaced, wiping the blood off his mouth and spiting out some of the metallic tasting liquid.
He wasn't giving up yet.
Sweat dripped down his neck as he narrowly dodged four razor sharp claws aimed for his head. He ducked and rolled out of the way, reopening a wound in his plastron. His legs had many cuts and bruises on them, and his arms were no better.
His black eye swelled, minimalising his vision. Blood steadily dripped from his busted lip and the gash on the side of his head was beginning to cause him a migraine. But through all of it, he wouldn't quit. Not until he knew that they were satisfied with him.
A yowl was the only warning he received before glistening yellow green eyes propelled themselves at him. He gasped and swiftly moved to the side, stabbing the feline in the ribs as it slammed face first into the opposing wall.
Ouch.
It stood up, shaking it's head back and forth to clear some of the force from the impact. It's still lashed back and forth as its claws dripped with his blood. The matted gray fur on its back stood up on while it's whiskers twitched, seemingly on their own accord.
With a screech, it ran at him again, paws going out and in beneath it. He clicked his tongue in warning as it got closer. It ignored his threat and continued charging forward, it's claws pounding against the pavement as it ran. It leaped towards his face with claws that could shred rocks.
Seeing the opening, he dove underneath it, twisting around and bringing his fingers together. He felt as his fingers punctured through its flesh, giving way to the organs that it held. It landed, blood spilling out of the fresh wound on its stomach and it's eyes wide with pain. He panted, watching as it registered what happened to it. With some difficulty, he walked towards it, ignoring the way the bones in his legs shifted. He could feel the gashes and bruises spew out his blood onto the tainted battleground. The cuts that he could never get rid of and cursed to always contrast against his shamrock green skin.
Focus on the kill, not on yourself.
It hissed in pain and fury as he approached it, raising it's paws up in defense, only for it to fall back to its side limply. It wheezed with every breath, and the light in its eyes were draining with every passing moment.
He watched as it struggled against it's fate, grinning at the futile effort to attack him while it was still at his mercy. His smile widened as he raises his foot above it's exposed small intestine. It's eyes widened in fear and it's pupils dilated into mere slits. It stared at him, silently crying out.
However, it didn't cry out loud. Because if it told him to give it l a quick and painless death he would have. But it didn't. So he did what he had to do.
He slammed his foot into the spilled intestine. It screeched and jerked as he dug his foot in, to disgusted to look at what he might have mashed his foot into, so instead he stared. He stared hard and unblinking at it with a widening smile, making it all the more unsettling. He stamped his heel down over and over again on different parts of the organ.
It cried out in agony, practically begging for him to stop.
Like music to his ear slits.
He pulled his foot up and watched as tears spilled from its eyes, gasping for breath as it tried to desperately ease the pain. He wiped his foot of on its gray fur, staining it brown and red.
Once his foot was clean, he crouched he'd into eye level with the mangy beast. It's eyes still stared at him with hatred and anger, only this time it was dulled by terror.
He smiled deeper and softened his eyes, giving it mock sympathy as it cried. The light in its eyes was almost fully gone, so he decided to finish up the job.
He raised his hand, feeling immense pleasure at it's finch. He patted it's head and churred, giving it soft eyes as it stared, eyes wide with terror and unable to move. He grabbed it by the throat, pulling it slightly off the ground. He churred again, feeling happy with his accomplishment of instructing fear into the subject.
He tilted it's head upwards, his talons ready. The animals throat bobbed, but no sound came out as it twitched and jerked to get away from hin. He raised his hand and slashed it's throat. Blood spilled onto his hands and onto him lower body, covering him in warmth. It's irony as he stepped back, smiling at the messy kill.
Joy filled him licked his hands clean. He knew that the Doctor would not punish him for failing the execution of the "-infamy of a creature." as she'd put it. He disliked killing creatures that were like him, but here it was kill or be killed. It was serve of be discarded.
He hated that he was forced to kill, to try to reason with himself about the guilt that has been dulled over the years. The sick that hung around his stomach while he murdered in disgusting, messy ways. The blood that he had to consume for his own selfishness.
But he'd learned that pushing rules had only caused him more pain and less food. S o he'd also learned to follow orders without hesitation, even if it hurt. That didn't mean they relented his suffering. Never. They didn't even trust him after all these years.
But he hoped, one day he would be freed from this hell scape and forced murder. He hoped one day to escape from his captivators, who tortured him for their studies and twisted entertainment.
He hoped to one day be able to be looked at as something other than a stupid ass mutant that only served one purpose. He just had to wait. He had to keep hanging on till' that day arrived like he always had.
One day.
The creature took it's heavy weight off his shell, releasing only a percentage of pressure that had encased him. He felt the cuffs around his wrists detach from each other and his arms fallling by his sides limp with numbness and pain. His eyes darted from one group to another, keeping them wide and dangerous. He was surrounded by threats, with no way to get rid of them.
Everything is a threat. Your fucking used to it.
The creature exited the room, the door shutting behind it with a click. His eyes swiftly moved towards the intruders that were hunched together in the corner. Though they showed no signs of threat and we're practically radiating with caution and something he couldn't quite place. He smirked at their fear of him, not letting his guard down whatsoever.
Last time he'd barely escaped with his life.
He pushed himself off the ground, smirk dissapeqring and his eyes never leaving the shriveling guests in the corner. He felt his forearm crack. Intense icy hot pain wiped away any remaining numbness in his arm as it gave out below him. He fell to the floor with a heavy thump and hissed, clutching his arm to his chest and forgetting about the unknowns that accompanied him. With a squeak, him pushed himself up again, but with his good arm this time. Staring at his unusable arm, he didn't notice as one of the dangers mutants crawled toward him with surprising silence. It wore a piece of cloth around his head in a bright color that he couldn't remember, with two little bows ends sticking out of the back.No collar yet. Must be new. It's eyes were a lighter, less vibrant color, contrasting the brightness of the cloth. It stared at him. His hackles rose at the challenge. He bared his bloodstained teeth at it and growled, being as threatening as he could with the limited use of his body. The figure's eyes widened as he crawled backwards a bit. He smelled it's uncertainty. The other two were looking at it with wide eyes as well, which confused him but not for long. His finger twitched, attracting attention to the talons that adorned them. "Mikey, get back from there. Now." He jerked his head over to see the mutant that was huddled up against the other one, staring at the one closest to him as though he'd lost his mind. The one in charge turned to him and narrowed it's eyes. He narrowed his eyes right back and clicked threateningly at them. A warning.
There was no way he would let them assert dominance. Especially not in HIS territory.
He didn't notice the energy shift in it as rage boiled in his stomach. It cocked it's head to the side, staring at him with a question in its eyes. He shifted into his side and onto all fours, ignoring all of his broken bones and bruises that would need to be treated. He crouched into a bullet position, facing his target. It's deep eyes widened as it noticed his behavior. It immediately began to scramble away from the corner, dragging a much taller one with it. With a snarl, he shot forward, his double boosted speed giving him the power of a car going about 40 mph from what he'd been told. The pair ducked put of the way just in time, for he slammed into a concrete wall and not a bone. His head wrung with the impact and stars exploded into his head. He opened his eyes in a squint, his visions doubled. The pain radiated, causing his headache to pound with ten times the force The three stared at him in surprise, or something close to it. He snapped his jaws, readying his next pounce. But as he regained his disposition, his fight suddenly drained from him and the room spun, leaving a crumpled, dizzy turtle lying on the floor. He cried out in pain, most of his wounds from the day before reopening. Against his will, his eyes began to tear. He pulled his limbs up closer to him, in as tight of a ball that he could be comfortable in. He whimpered like the pathetic animal he knew himself to be and let the blood pool out of his wounds onto the floor. He expected them to attack, for them to take advantage of his moment of vulnerability and use it against him like everyone else had done to him many times before. His extremities throbbed and burned, and his body throbbed. He wished that someone would make the pain go away for once. He choked on a sob, trying to clutch his body to him to get rid of the non-relenting pain. He wished this nightmare was over. A hand jerked him out of his his head and back into the present. His bright blue eyes had faded back into his normal emerald ones. He could tell because he no longer wanted to drain everyone's blood. He looked up at a green blob, that slowly shifted into a figure with concern in it's eyes. Oh he could remember the color now! Yes. It was blue. Baby blue. A baby blue that rang in his head, bringing an unfamiliar feeling with it.They stared at eachother for a few moments, before he remembered.
They are danger.
He snapped at the face, baring his teeth in some form of threat, though he was to exhausted to really do anything. If they chose to attack, it would be all over."Hey."...It spoke. It was like him, and it spoke. Was it like him though? Could he speak? It didn't matter. Nothing mattered much except for his survival. He wanted to bite. He wanted to snap and screech and GET AWAY-But he didn't. Something invisible held him in place. What was he feeling? Why had his heart sped up? His enraged eyes connected with warm ones, gazing at his with a look he couldn't understand. "Your okay. Your gonna be okay." The voice was small and tight, but it was also soft and tender, like the slightest touch could shatter it.
That was a lie. Nothing was ever okay, nor was it going to be. He hurt. That wasn't 'ok'.
Unwillingly, his body untensed. Which was wrong surprisingly comfortable. He hadn't noticed flexing his muscles had caused some of the strain on him, not that it made much of a difference to the suffering he felt.He settled, more his body than his mind. His kept continuously racing to the worst possibilities it could come up with, causing his chest to flare.Despite himself, he became curious. If they were like him, what else could he do? He knew very well that these could be his last moments before his throat was slit, or guts were spilled, or limbs were pulled as he'd done to many times before. His curiosity could kill the turtle, but he wanted to risk it.
If he was dead it wouldn't hurt anymore.
His suspicion and curiosity wrangled eachother, until his suspicion gave way and curiosity took over. He watched the figure gaze at his body, and it's mouth twisting in the beginnings of a frown. He was confused on why it stared at his body instead of his weaponised hands. It stared at him with wide blue eyes, along with the other two who sat behind it. It began to shift forward which immediately shot off red flags. He curled his upper lip and began to descend back into the corner, curling his lips back and baring his current flat teeth. But then he heard it. "chip!" He paused, giving it a wide eyed, bemused stare. It's surprise seemed to disappear quickly, for it smiled at him, betraying a look of... Something. "cheep!" He called back to it, letting his curiosity show through his chirp. He stopped his one man treck to the corner, and let his defensiveness waver ever so slightly. "chip!" It repeated his language again. It spoke a language that for so long only he could understand. A sense of longing enveloped him. He clicked, slowly moving forward, giving him a deep, unblinking stare as he did so."Mikey! What are you doing?!" A voice hissed from out of viewHe immediately began to backtrack, his hackles rising as he backed away into the corner again, hissing at the startled reptile in front of him. He watched it's movements like a hawk, seeing as its face contorted from looking surprise to anger.
Pain rippled down his body. He cried out, begging for it to stop, to let him go. He was SORRY. Dr Brineheart stood over him, cold anger radiating off of her as she watched him writhe on the ground in pain.
It felt like his body was burning from the inside out. His limbs twitched and spassed uncontrollably, and his eyes jerked around in the back of his head. The shock stopped, letting his eyes fly out of hiding and gasping for air.
He gave her a small remorseful chitter, shakily pulling himself off of his shell and onto his knees, begging her not to continue with the torture.
She sneered at him, kicking him over back into his shell and pushing her foot into a crack in his plastron.
He gasped in pain as she bent down, Her weight falling onto the leg she pressed onto him.
"Next time you ruin my lab, you will know the first hand experience of hell." She said coldly, Her unrelenting, disgusted gaze bore holes into his own. He whimpered, giving her a silent promise.
She scowled and stood, kicking him away with so much force he slammed into his bed post.
She turned and walked away, swiping a thin rectangle against the box in his room. Before she fully left, she turned to look at him.
"Listen you little fuck, you're aren't worth shit. You and your kind were created to serve. Your a disgrace to humanity, a stain. An insult to the human race. And if you ever step out of line again, I will show you personally how to bleach out a stain." She jeered, twirling the remote to his collar around in her hand with a toothy, cold smile.
"Don't disappoint me again, freak." With that, she left, slamming the door behind her. The only thing he could hear was his labored breathing and the buzz of the old lightbulb.
He growled at the critter, curling even closer around himself. It paid him no mind, it's head turned to the opposite direction and muttering something to the voice that had spoke. He stared, threat forgotten. It's neck was exposed. It's head was facing away from him. It was an easy kill.He stared hungrily at its neck, feeling his mouth water at the thought of food. Fangs began to protrude from his canines, and he licked his lips. He began to silently move upright, his eyes never leaving the directed target. He brought his hands and feet together in preparation to spring. In a flash, the kill mutant was tackled away, startling him enough to distract him. Harsh blue eyes stared at him with a fire he'd seen before, only they were usually seen in dying mutants. This one was definitely not dead.He glowered at it, and it glared back. Then it spoke."Don't you touch my brother." The words were cold and commanding, sending shivers down his shell. He retracted his head slightly into his shell not wanting to be on the receiving end of a shock fest. It's eyes widened a bit, returning to their regular size, as the smaller entity in it's arms looked around confused. "Leo? Why are you-" It cut itself off when it met his eyes, still unwaveringly prone to it's neck. "Oh." It said quietly, with a hint of betrayal in it's voice.Silence stretched. His limbs burned and spassed, and he felt the trickles of blood slowly bead down his scales. He was tired. He sat back on his haunches, eyes never leaving that vunlerable spot on the cervix that he'd gone for so many times before. He pulled his knees up to his plastron and hugged his arms around them.He finally tugged his eyes away from the spot that he'd been eyeing like a predator for the past few minutes. His gaze was met with three pairs of eyes, all staring at eachother, before the blue one spoke. "Hey, we're not gonna hurt you alright? Your okay. Your safe with us." He slowly lowered the one it cradled against him to the floor, it's tone soft and eyes never leaving his. He blinked."My name is Leo." It spoke slowly, pointing to himself. He cocked his head over to the side, confused by its behavior but wanting it to continue.
You don't get want
"This is Mikey, " It jestured to the one with baby blue eyes and dots on it's face. "And that's Donnie." It jestured to the one behind it, a different mutant that bore vibrant colors in it's face. He looked between the three of them, memorizing their names.
Leo, Mikey, Donnie. Leo, Mikey, Donnie. Got it.
"Do you have a name?" The sound pulled him out of his thoughts as he stared blankly at the figure Leo, giving no indication that he'd heard him. It gave him an odd glance before Mikey cut in from the floor. "Maybe he can't understand us." He said quietly, looking from him to the blue one. "There is a high possibility of that. Most people who suffer from traumatic experiences during childhold often lose important memories that defines them as a person. Usually caused by emotional, physical, or sexual abuse consistently. Though it's more common in children, adults also-" He was cut off by blue Leo giggling at him and stating that he understood. The one in the back turned a different color and looked away. He was comfortable in this light atmosphere, but continued tense and rubbing the sore area by his neck. The laughter shifted into quietness as attention regained on him. The blue one leaned forward a bit, and he tensed."Can you understand us?" It asked him suspiciously. He stared at him, nothing in his demeanor changing while he was searched by hopeful eyes. The hopefulness of it's eyes dulled into disappointment as he leaned back on his calves with a sigh.
I'm sorry. Please don't hurt me.
He shifted in place in attempt to regather it's attention. He succeeded with his silent call because three pair of curious eyes turned to him. He could feel their eyes as he closed his and nodded, his head jerky from the constant stiffness and pain it experienced. He opened his eyes to find Leo's eyes lit up and a surprised expression met it's face. He smirked because, well, it's face was quite amusing. "Oh. I didn't know. I felt that- I just figured-" He? It stumbled over it's words as he? made odd jestures with his hands, drawing laughter and mockery from the other two. His face turned the same color as the tall one had a few minutes prior.
He kinda liked these new guys.
The group had began to talk more, asking him questions about himself and explaining where they were from. They were crowded together against the bed frame of the opposing wall. Their tone was light with a different emotion in it. One he couldn't remember.
What all could he remember?
"And our dad is a rat. Well technically he's a mutated rat. And technically technically he used to be a human so maybe he's rat and human? Humat. Ratuman. Maybe he has secret superpowers? Do we have superpowers?" Mikey asked, his question met with laughter from the others and a wider smile from him.
One that wasn't murderous.
"Actually Mike, our dad is a mutated rat. So he would be considered a rat mutant. Since our father was a human in the past, you can't refer to it as a present situation. And no, we do not have superpowers" Donnie exclaimed, waving a finger around in a matter-of-factual way with a smirk on his face.Mikey pouted at the no power statement, drawing a giggle out of Leo as he slyly commented."Actually, I thought of him more as a mutant tea drinker. Maybe that's his power." The three of them laughed out loud. The sound was loud and ear grating. He scrunched his beak up and pressed his palms to his ear slits, trying to block out the screams of terror laughter. He whined, twisting away from the source of noise and towards the corner of the wall. It was so loud so loud so so loud please stop please stop IT HURTS- Something grazed his arm. He reflexively turned, hurling a clawed hand towards his attacker. His fist collided with wall as Mikey dodged his left hook. "Woah dude! Relax! I'm just checking on ya'!"
"If you don't stop struggling I'm going to put you back in the room.
."
He growled, narrowing his eyes at the sudden threat. His ankle contorted in ways that it shouldn't have when he tried to put pressure on it. He fell on his side with a hiss of pain, curling up as a defensive mechanism. His body throbbed, feeling like a giant blob of pain with no purpose. Vaguely, he could hear chatter behind the drumming on his heart in his ears. His hands burned when he touched things, and his feet had been scorched. Tears fell from his eyes at he gritted his teeth in pain. He huffed, suddenly finding that he couldn't breath. The walls closed in on him and black dots surrounded the edges of his line sight. His heartbeat pounded into every bruise, every gash, every broken bone. He cried out, trying to shrink himself back into the safe spot of his now infested room. He felt a semi-warm hand place on his thigh, lightly enough that it didn't press on his bruises, but heavy enough that it weighed down on him. He gasped, his third eyelid sliding back to reveal his little pinpricks for pupils. Leo was kneeling next to him, a weird grounding feeling streamed out of him. His body was tense, ready to draw back at any signs of attack. Good, he thought. He's afraid of me.He merely stared at him, and smiled. His breath began to calm as he stared, wide eyed. He shifted by his knees, settling into a more comfortable position as he began to hum.It was a quiet, soothing hum that made the beating of his heart slow. The oddly nostalgic hum pulled him into one of those trances that he rarely experienced.
He sat near a gray area. His surroundings were to blurry to make anything out distinctly, but he could tell that he was not suffering. In fact, the opposite. The name for it was at the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
He heard laughter, and watched as deformed green blobs raced across the vision, each a different shade of green. His face muscles worked as he smiled.
The puff balls were beginning to take affect, and he felt his conscious rapidly rush towards the gravitating pull of sleep. The he came back to the present, finding that he was laying on Orange's lap as Leo hummed him that song. A sickeningly nostalgic song. His vision doubled and snapped back, and he felt his eyelids begin to pick up weights. The voice of Mikey was the last comforting thing he remebered before drifting off.
Maybe cellmates weren't so bad afterall...
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Break, break, break my mind
Break it 'til the tale unwinds
Force my thoughts through hell and back
Or leave me alone tonight
He held his breath.Unreadable green eyes wavered in and out of consciousness as he continued his lullaby. It was a quiet and gentle song that their father used to hum to them as children, usually to help calm them or to help them sleep.
He secretly hoped that Raph would remember it.
The three sat and stared at the broken turtle fought for his consciousness. However, exhaustion and Ketamine over came him and he watched as he drifted to sleep beside his thigh. His heart melted as he watched his baby brother sleep for the first time in almost 6 years.Though his sleep did not look at peaceful as he'd hoped. He continued to watch as he jerked around, little cut off growls forcing their way out of his throat while he slept. He felt his hatred grow until he was sure the place would just combust right then and there.
How dare they do this to my little brother.
He glanced up around the room, taking mental notes of the clawmarks on the door and walls. The bed sheets had tears on them, though they looked fresh. He felt heavy breathing on his thigh, indicating that Raphael was in fact asleep. He looked back down at the smaller figure clutching his wrist with a death grip even while being asleep. He grimaced Yeesh.Once he was sure that the boy would not be disturbed by the lack of music did he stop humming. He looked at his currently awake brothers, who had just as many questions as he did. Donnie chose to break the silence this time."Okay, so. What the fuck is going on?!" He whisper yelled at him while making weird movements with his hands. He blinked. Does he really expect me to know?"How the hell am I supposed to know?! I didn't plan on getting kidnapped by some wacko!" He whispered back, narrowing his eyes at Donnie erratic behavior.Donnie facepalmed, letting out a rather shaky extended sigh. "So, let me get this straight. First we get kidnapped by literally God knows who by being ambushed, second we get thrown in a room with no key and probably no toilet, and THIRD " He let his frustration seep into the end of his sentence, throwing his hands out beside him and gesturing to the room with round eyes. "Now WE JUST HAPPEN to be in the same room as our kidnapped brother who was claimed dead for FIVE IN A HALF FUCKING YEARS!" He cupped his chin in his hands and sat back on his ankles in exasperation. He closed his eyes, probably luring through the worst possible scenarios he could think of, due to Donnie being Donnie. Mikey flinched at the sudden change of tone, and only just then had Leo noticed that he had been feeling over Raphael's healed scars. He looked up at him in confusion before clearing his throat."I get it dude! This whole thing is like, super fucking stressful. I know. But none of us planned for this to happen bro! We'll get outta here! We just gotta sit back and chill until our friends get here." Mikey said softly, like he was trying to tame a rabid dog. Donnie's eye twitched. He jerked up from his self wallowing position, his eyes blazing and leaving the two preparing to bare the fire creeping out of his throat. When Donnie reached his peak, he could no longer able to control (or attempt to control) his emotions."CHILL?! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN CHILL?! HOW COULD I BE CHILL KNOWING WERE FUCKING STUCK IN GOD KNOWS WHERE WITH NO MEANS OF ANY COMMUNICATION?! WE COULD BE OUT IN NORTH FUCKING CAROLINA FOR ALL WE KNOW!" He screamed, his voice cracked due to his throat closing when he was stressed. He had told them about his throat constricting when he was stressed, so they'd learned not to make fun of him for it at a young age.Raphael stirred beside him, drawing his attention away from the current pair of fighting brothers. Michaelangelo had moved Raph's head off of his lap and onto to his own in attempts to go help calm their panicked brother. His eyes squinted open, despite the ketamine still rolling around in his system. Though he didn't want to leave his little brothers so stressed, none of them were as hurt or as scared as the one beside him.He had wanted to pull out the tranquilizer darts the moment he saw them, but he also knew that his brother probably had no clue who they were and would likely take it as a threat. He shook with rage as he inspected the bloody, bruised, and broken body of his little brother. They had messed with his mind, twisting around the concept of right and wrong and filling his head with toxins and delusions. That's so fucked up. He thought bitterly. The fact that someone could be so cruel to another living creature was beyond him. When his brother had left them, he was violent, yes. But to be hurt like this? He shuddered. He pushed his emotions aside, knowing he had to calm his brother down before attempting to commit any illegal acts. He chewed on the inside of his lil, wondering if the the darts still being deeply imbedded in his skin was part of the reason he was asleep. He could ask Donnie, it would be the smarter choice and he would probably have answers for him. That would be the case if he wasn't currently crying and being shushed my their little brother. Looking at the dizzy green eyes that were locked on to nothing across the room, he decided to risk it.He leaned in closer to him, moving slowly and deliberately, and pulled out three yellow balls of fur. Immediately his eyes shot wide open, seeming to be fully aware despite the drugs inside of him that quietly lulled him to sleep.Donnie's cries went silent, his attention probably attracted to the surprised turtle that layed on his lap. A clawed hand reached up, drawing a flinch out of him that he would never admit to.A chitter was heard as he rubbed along his neck, which held three new puncture wounds in it. Leo felt his big brother instincts flare up as his beak crumpled, pressing his taloned fingers into the new trio of holes. The flurry of questions he wanted to ask died down. His brother had layed his head back down with a look of appreciation, instead of the violent response he'd been expecting.Movement caught his eye, pulling him out of whatever destructive thoughts he had been visiting. His attention directed towards his purple-clad brother, who was unsurely reaching his hand out towards the dazed turtle in his grasp. He felt his heart speed up as he watched him turn towards the welcoming gesture. Though, any unthreatening gestures he had used before had only seemed to rile him up more. He uneasily watched as the turtle rolled off of his lap and onto the floor, beginning to approach the two brothers huddled beside the mattressed cot.Donnie scooted away from Mikey, far enough to be safe, but close enough to be grabbed and pulled back if things went south."Donnie what are you doing?" He sighed exasperatedly. It was unlike him to try a such a risky move, usually Mikey was the most reckless out of the three- fourHis eyes never leaving the cautious turtle, he responded."Slow movements are often not presumed as threats to wild or untamed animals. I figured this would work, seeing as he's more animalistic than sophisticated. And I also saw it on How To Train Your Dragon." He explained, keeping his shaky hand outstretched and eyes bound towards the approaching brother. His insides churned with anticipation as Raphael sniffed Donnie's hand.
The tension was so thick you could almost see it.
Mikey stared at them both with bright blue eyes that held an intensity that he wasn't used to.Slowly, Raphael backed away, retreating to the back left corner of the room where he and his brothers were left unconscious a little while before. It kind of got him wondering. How long had they been there? Felt like hours Hut it could be longer. With little hope he glanced around the room in search of a clock. To no surprise he found none. His hackles rose again, though this time nothing had happened to cause his guard to raise. He squinted, questioning what happened to make him behave in such a way. His question was almost immediately answered, for the same click he had heard earlier made its appearance once more.He quickly but leapt silently to his feet, his rational brothers following his lead. The door swung open, revealing a buff man in a full body suit that read SECURITY. His outfit had a similar theme of blacks and smokey grays, making his authoritative presence all the more unnerving. He wore a thick leather belt adorned different items, such as guns, tasers, handcuffs, mace, etc. Though the one thing that stood out to him the most was the small rectangular box that sat in his front pouch. It was metallic silver and had a glowing pink hue to it, though only the top was able to be seen. His mind immediately screamed 'Kraang!', and looking over he could tell that his brothers had too. The helmet he wore was thick, concealing the top half of his face. The only thing that was visible was his lips and the bottom of his nose. He stepped in, standing on one side of the doorway as another one followed behind, guarding the opposite side.He sneered at the uninvited guests, settling into a Doko No Kamae stance. Or maybe they were the guests? It didn't matter though. Someone was going to get hurt.He was preparing to attack when another unexpected person came in. This time dressed much more differently than the others. She wore white heeled boots with small rhinestones dotting to the top. Her pants were also white, but were much looser as they made their way to her calves. A slit could be seen at the bottom, where her heels poked out.The bottoms of the pants also had little rhinestones, but were littered with small diamond like beads that surrounded them. She wore a white trench coat that fell down to her thighs, brown-black buttons decorating the right side of her coat. Her eyes were hazel, complimenting her fluffy auburn hair that reached to her lower back. She stalked in, eyeing each and every one of them with a uncomfortably easy look on her face. Upon making eye contact with Raphael, she smiled, crouching down in the center of the room and rubbing her fingers together as if she was beckoning some stray cat.He snarled, backing himself even further into the corner. A flat annoyed look fell on her face. She stood up and stared at them, her eyes never staying in line place for more that a few milliseconds. Then she spoke (much to his dismay). "Hello! You three are all new here, so I would like to welcome you all to your new home!" She smiled, giving them mock excitement that all of them could see right through."My name is Dr.Brineheart, and I will be your new manager! By manager I mean that all actions, test runs, programming, blood work, etc will go through me! How fun!" She held bright eyes as she smiled, showing off her invisiline. "While your here, I will be testing basic things, like your anatomy, your skills and weaknesses, blood types, likes and dislikes, those sorts of things! As long as everyone is cooperative I think that there will be no real harm done." She lifted her fingers up while naming off different activities she would force them into. An uneasy flow passed through him, and he payed close attention to the way her face fell when she murmured something inaudible. The moment of quiet passed before an earsplitting snarl came from the corner. Her head snapped over to him with a angry glare, before switching it to a grin."Ah, I see you have met 1-027! Savage little beast isn't it?" She said with excitement, as if he was something she had created and wanted to show him off. Something inside him snapped at the demeaning tone she held."Listen, I don't care who you are or what your name is. Let. Us. Go." Anger flared in his belly as he watched her easy going expression shift into shock. She turned to him with a crazed smile, one similar to Donnie's when he's unhinged after days of no sleep. "Heh. Hehehahaha! You can talk! Ahahaha! I knew it! 1-027 has refused to speak since the day he arrived, yet here you are! Proving my theories! On the first day of your arrival! What a major breakthrough!" She scrambled out of the room, returning a few second later with a clip board that she hastily scribbled down on. He bright smile shined as she looked up from her documentation. "Not only can you talk, but you also have that ability to comprehend complex sentences! Ahahahaha!" She excitedly cackled before going back to her notes. He shared a bemused look with his brothers, silently communicating with their very ninja like mouthing. By what he could tell, Donnie was trying to explain to them that she was their overseer. Which made alot more sense than 'manager' or whatever the hell else she called it. "Oh! Excuse my little outburst there! I am just so happy that I finally made this break through. Just you having simple requests, quick reaction timing, basic comprehension, those things are usually found in children! It sucks that you three are not registered I'm the system yet though. But once you are, I'm gonna have a blast with you!" She cackled manaically, looking at each of their disturbed faces with an odd pleasure. She snapped her attention back to Raphael, who was huddled up in the corner with his teeth bared."Now I wanna hear your voice! Talk!" She ordered with her lighthearted tone. He continued to stare at her with wide eyes, not making a move until she pulled out the same rectangular box that the guards had on their belts. "I said talk enfoiré!" She rasped, dropping her friendly persona while she dealt with him.He was very glad Splinter had taught him to pay attention to details. His defiance faltered as he shrank into the already filled corner. He whined, tucking his tail between his legs the best he could. She chuckled darkly, before abruptly halting and pointing the box at him. He felt himself tense up as his brother began to screech, clawing at his neck and giving himself fresh cuts that allowed blood to dribble down his neck. He fell to the side with a thump, twitching and frantically howling as his head bobbed in different directions. His eyes were screwed shut, little teardrops forming in both corners. He was shocked. And so am I. He thought numblyBefore he could stop himself, he charged. He heard his brothers protest behind him as he almost connected with the Dr, only to fall short as a fucking wall hit him.He slammed against the actual wall and slowly slid down. He let out a groan, feeling his spine and ribs throb with every heartbeat.A staticy ringing filled his tympanum as he sat there, blinking the pain away. He shook his head and plundered back into full consciousness. He stood up, shaking off the aching in his lower half. He glanced to the left, where his green- teal? He paused. Since when was his eyes teal? Raph's eyes were green weren't they? He squinted, had his eyes changed before and he just hadn't noticed it? He couldn't remember. His brother was shaking, probably due to pain and fear. All of his big brother instincts told him to rush over there and hold him until the pain went away, to shield him from the cold, cruel world that had hurt him.
But he couldn't.
And it hurt.
.
.
But could he? He moved around, hoping to get the scared turtles full attention. It told a few more times of blocking out Dr. Brineheart and moving around before Raphael finally noticed him. He stared with a confused face by the time his green eyes met his navy blue ones.Huh. He mused They do change colors. Cool.He blinked hard a few times, trying not to scare him back into hiding in the corner and possibly his shell. Instead he got lower, sinking into the ground and kneeling before him in the way he kneeled before Master Splinter many times before. He could see the way he tensed at his movement, eyeing him warily while breathing erratically. He smiled, deciding to no longer tune out the other presence in the room. But he was only met with silence. He felt all twelve pairs pairs of eyes on him as he held out his arms, hoping that Raphael would take the chance to be embraced. Though he would not be upset of he didn't choose to move. And he wouldn't judge if he preferred to stay away for his safeness. He would be understanding. Just like how Master Splinter would want him to be.
No hurt feelings at all.
He only stared, watching as Raph's eyes narrowed and silently darted between his eyes and his arms, probably weighing the risk.If you ever were to ask Leo if he almost cried when his lunatic brother came crawling towards him, he would completely deny it. Whole heartedly and with no room for debate.
Even though Splinter also taught them not to lie.
Pride bloomed in his chest as he came closer. And closer. And closer. Inch by inch. Until his face was only a few inches away from his. He continued shuffling towards him until he was loosely encased inside of his arms. He looked at him with distrust as he closed his arms around his scarred plastron. He made sure to keep his arms loose to prevent any feeling of restrictions on him, not knowing how the lack of mobility would affect him.He switched his throat muscles and gave him a reassuring churr. He didn't release any tension inside him, but he was answered with a few exasperated clicks, which were good enough for him. He slimmed his eyes and stared at the Doctor, who was stuck between taking notes and staring with her mouth slightly open. The silence uncomfortably stretched for a bit before she spoke, to his disapproval. "Huh. 027 has never done that before. Willingly approach a mutant? No. It seems there has been a few things that I've missed with it." She said disgruntled, continuing her work with a dismayed look. "Anyways," She continued, ignoring the glare she received from all three of them, the forth off somewhere in his head."I came in here for 1-027. It killed a few of my fellow Co-Workers today and it has yet to receive it's punishment." She explained, tapping her clip board with her pen. He glanced over to the youngest brothers who were currently making direct eye contact, probably saying some things he couldn't catch. Donnie's eyes met his, then they glanced dramatically to the Doctors hand. He looked over and noticed nothing, until he looked closer and noticed that there was a logo on the side of her pen. A strange shape of octogons all bunched together, making a flower like pattern. The pen was quickly rotated, looking up to find the woman side eyeing him. He couldn't help the way his upper lip twitched up in disgust.
Boo, bitch.
Refocusing, he thought back into the past, knowing he had heard the name before, but just couldn't put his finger on it. Like a bell stuffed with cotton trying to ring. He blinked away from the pen, and quickly regained sense of what was happening. He growled when he tried to talk, realizing he hadn't switched his throat back. He cleared his throat and began to speak."What are you going to do to him?" He asked, fighting the urge he had to let go of his brother and mangle her. She smiled, an eerie feeling came across him as she answered."Oh nothing.. You three won't be seeing it for a few days though." She said with an underlying tone. She looked back down at her paper and paused mid sentence. "He won't remember you afterwards though. Don't be shocked if he tries to claw your face off." She said darkly, leaving everyone and especially Mikey disturbed.
What does she mean, 'He won't remember us'?
"Come now 1-027! Let us leave." She smirked, flipping her attention back to his brother who tensed up at the use of the numbers. He hadn't realized that he'd untensed. That meant he had relaxed while being held by him. Meaning he trusted him."Come now, 1-027! We have two rooms- ahem. Three rooms to visit! No time to dally my little tortue~" She proclaimed, giving Raphael a seducing look while wiggling her finger in a 'come here' motion. His skin prickled with distrust as he stood, limping over to the coaxing doctor. He took his place beside her, shifting his weight to his left side more than his right. She gave the back of his head a catlike smile that sent shivers down his shell. He subconsciously growled, going unnoticed by Brineheart. She grinned, whipping his head back harshly and drawing a painful gasp from bared teeth. "Ahh~ I'm sorry this visit must be concluded so soon. Actually, I'm not sorry at all!" She laughed heartily, as if some sort of sick joke was made. "You all will see him in a few days, do not worry." She said slyly, throwing the injured turtles head forward. He stumbled, whimpering as he put pressure of his right leg.
"Too much."
"Now we must go! Adieu petite tortue!" She waved, breaking eye contact with them as she shoved the young boy forward. He growled, slightly stumbling away as the guards took hold of him. They wrapped his wrists together in some sort of thick handcuffs that had purple veins running throughout them. He heard Donnie gasp, assuming he would hear what the matter was at a different time.Snapping jaws hit him like ice cold water. Jaws that were quickly restrained by a black wired muzzle which fit perfectly. He heard a deep rumble, one that could only come from deep in the chest. He and his brothers had made that as a calling to eachother at a young age. It was often used as a reassurance mechanism, or to signify your presence. His wild eyes pinned on the doctor, fear portraying in every wrinkle on his face.He quickly stood, the room swaying beneath his feet as he stumbled over to the second middle child. He was caught, his attention drawn away from the unfolding scene before him. He bowed his head and took a deep breath. He let out a strong rumble, almost identical to Raphael's but a one or two octaives higher. He felt vibrations come from the plastron his head layed on, eyes still closed as he let them fill his body and mind. The lulling relaxation they all received when this was done almost made the world seem perfect. His every muscle was screaming to move, to rescue the younger brother he had sworn to protect. He wanted to move so bad. But he knew deep down that even if he did manage to get him away from their grasp, they would have a very low chance of escaping with him. Not only that, but he would definitely be wounded trying to do so. His team would need his legs to carry him, and if he was injured, his brothers may not be able to carry him away from the place. So against his will, he screwed his eyes shut and let tears slip down his beak.
I'm so sorry.
He heard an medium pitched churr, yanking him out of his thoughts with much gratitude. The highest pitched churr was often known to be Michelangelo's, so the final instrument must have had to come from their younger brother. The churr that started the cycle joined the chorus, creating a sense of harmony he hadn't felt since he was nine years old. Though it did not last long. The sounds only lasted a few more seconds before being broken by a pained howl. His eyes flew open to meet a crouching Mikey, holding his cheek with a surprised look on his face. A guard hovered over him, hand still outstretched. He looked at the Doctor, who beckoned him to come closer. He turned away and speed walked toward the cuffed, shackled, and blinded turtle in the doorway."I see you all have a form of non-controversial communication. Facinating! It sounds just like a diamondback terrapins churr! You all surprise me very much!" The doctor shooed the other three bodies out of the room, continuing her treck out swell before she paused. "Though I do not need any of you to help calm this morveux. It will have plenty of time for that later." She said with a dead tone. Leo, who was still fuming about one of the guards striking his LITTLE brother, was not paying any attention whatsoever.Still facing the bright white and blue hallway, she spoke. He could hear the sneer in her voice. "I suppose he is not the same as you last remember, correct?"An angry pause pursued before she turned around to look at them, a quite and shy smile on her face. "You all will be changed as well. Have patience." With that she turned and left with the guards, leaving three mutated turtles scared for the depths safety.
