Special Holiday Challenge
In the middle of Metropolis is a fancy high-rise apartment, there lived a young celebrity couple. With them for the holidays are their families, spending it merrily with a joyous cheer. Thankfully, their walls were thick and sound proofed, sparing their neighbors from the boisterous uproar. The room is filled with the mixed scent of ginger, cinnamon, allspice and cloves. Currently, they are holding a gingerbread house making contest. Randomly grouped to a team of three, "What's with the long pout?" complained by another rising actress to her best friend. "Oh come on! Just because, Tsuruga-san in teamed with others!" Her other best friend who's now covered with frosting, "And what is with that building?!" She stared at Ren and his team's gingerbread house, "Are you sure, that's made out of gingerbread?" stepping closer to check the huge structure of a food. Ren chuckled at the doubt, "You've seen me bake the walls and roof." Kyoko's brother retorted making the two girls blush. Kyoko shook her head, "Oh stop it, Moko-san, Chiori-chan. I mean I know we're loosing but I'll admit, that thing looks very familiar..." She thought. Ren had to clear his throat and distract her. "Does it? Any ways, yours looks cute." He gave his future-brother-in-law a look and went to divert Kyoko's attention, "Can you tour me to yours?" And they started to openly flirt making their manager squeal in glee. Kyoko started to show him the cute features of her quaint but detailed little gingerbread house. Meanwhile, together with Yashiro in the living room is Ren's parents; the Hizuris disguised as a Japanese-American couple and now being addressed as Papa Tsuruga and Momma Tsuruga, they were accompanied by Lory and the birthday girl Maria who's enjoying herself in the presence of her new crush, Otsukinoji. Saena and her American husband has been in close conversation with the Ryokan Taisho and Okami couple as well as Kyoko's landlords, telling her stories about Kyoko's childhood and early years as an achiever, the three older couples were so ever proud of what she has become. While everyone is busy, Ren has sent Otsukinoji and one of his Handymen to a mission of baking a detailed themed gingerbread house as well as figures. As Ren and Kyoko openly flirt Maria can't help but record them and upload the little party to her social media, and with everyone distracted, Otsukinoji who was tasked with a special request went to do his job and the others of his handymen giving him a hand. Chiori and Kanae watched the boys pipe the frosting over the edges and the roof is very much detailed, they baked single tiles to make it more realistic than the traditional frosting tiles the girls made, "I swear this is no longer a competition, what are you planning?" Kanae whispered to Otsukinoji who cleared his throat and side eyes to his sister and future-brother-in-law. Pulling her close and giving her a warning look, "Don't tell my sister, but by midnight, her lap dog's going to propose." He revealed and Kanae harply inhailed making sure not to be obvious. And because Otsukinoji cautiously told her, she decided to leave Chiori in the dark since their friend cannot keep a secret. And since she and her friends finished their little house, she decided to give the boys a hand by baking the shingles of the roof. By then some of them are wearing the scent of cinnamon, ginger and spices as well as the flour on their shirts, hairs and faces trying to finish the crackers by batches. Now, Kanae is within the number of people in for the scheme, and the others who might not be baking is making sure Kyoko is oblivious to the plans made by her ever loving gaijin. And knowing her bother who had a huge following on social media is also tasked to record the proposal, and of course the making of it, especially the long grind of baking. As everything is prepared, Otsukinoji called for Ren, "Don't you feel bad? You let Otto-chan do all the work!" Julie pinched the side of her son who only laughed without any guilt. It was all in the plan, since he needs to be in clean state for his proposal. When everyone is presenting their masterpiece, Kuu and Lory are impressed at the detailed gingerbread mansion built by Ren's team until, "It has a special feature. Go and open it!" Ren told Kyoko who then guided by the others that the mansion can be opened in the middle like a giant dollhouse. She gasped at how detailed it was, it even had a tiny living room and kitchen, and in the middle of that kitchen has two figures, one is standing and the other is kneeling. And once the father clock started to ring, Yashiro burst into a loud screech together with Julie and Chiori; Ren is now kneeling behind Kyoko with a bright smile. Slowly, Kyoko turned with a loud gasp, "I knew you'd propose but I never knew it was this early!" She had a playful pout. "What do you mean, early? It's actually long overdue. I'm sorry Boo, it took me quite a while, I need to settle things first." This confused her, "And Boo, I love you, and I want to make things formal and proper, there are no words left to tell and say, but there are actions and ceremonies that needs to be done by me. My love, will you marry me?" The loud cheers erupted and Kyoko was red from head to toe, "It's only, yes and yes." He joked. Rolling her eyes, "And you gave me only one option?" She chuckled, "Alright, maybe." she jest. Ren laughed louder, "It's not in the options." He teased and Kyoko grabbed his face and smothered him with a kiss. "YES!" And with that, Ren quickly scooped her and spun her around and gave her another kiss on the lips, settling; then inserted the ring on her finger. It was a beautiful water sapphire that rested over the band with fairy engravings. Ren had to show the original Corn stone to his future-brother-in-law and Otsukinoji had to do research to help him, finally finding a similar stone that can be an expensive gem, Ren went to search for it. "By the way, what's with the gingerbread mansion?" Kyoko wondered. Ren chuckled and pulled her to show her things within the detailed mansion again, when she realized, "Is this the same mansion from my first movie?" She looked shocked. Ren nodded, "Yes, and since you loved it so much, I had to rope Yuki-san to help me settle in buying it. It's perfect for our families." He said and embraced her from behind. "No way?" She was astonished and loved the idea. Ren further showed her the new additions he made through the gingerbread mansion, "What made me wonder is how sturdy that is." Kuu commented, "What's the frosting made of, cement?" Kuu added. "If it was, you're already dead." Otsukinoji feeling offended after watching the man demolished the chimney and stuffing the frosting with sprinkles. Few days later after Ren's request to have the recording from his now favorite family, he went a head to edit it and upload it on his official page. And as expected it blew up and caused another chaos for the social media site. And it was adorable how they made a tour in that mansion from the wealthy neighborhood. "Hey, big boss?" Ren's new nickname for Otsukinoji. Kyoko's brother was not amused since he knew Ren's going to ask another whimsical request. Ren laughed, "So you see, Boo was really down when dad ate the gingerbread mansion, so... can you make a gingerbread mansion that cant be eaten?" Otsukinoji was not happy with that request but still did it since it was for his sister. And it did not take long, Otsukinoji made a new one out from wood and resin, "And it smells like gingerbread too!" Yashiro took a sniff.
