Midoriya and Aizawa sit quietly, the only sound is the ticking of the clock from above the window. Midoriya has his head bowed, hands clenching the fabric of his pants by his knees. Aizawa sits opposite of him, arms crossed and face neutral. “Please don’t lie to me, Midoriya. I just want to understand what I’ve done to upset you and put a plan in place to fix it.” Aizawa speaks gently, at odds with his uncaring facade. Not that anyone in Class A is fooled by his facades anymore. The war took Aizawa’s intimidation factor down to zero for Class A and in its place grew overwhelming respect and love for their Sensei; the man who fought, bled, and defended them, and continues to do so. Who nurtured and took care of them through the attacks on their class, through the war and now through the slow, ongoing rebuilding of society. Aizawa Sensei, their caretaker, defender, supporter, mentor, and beloved father figure to all… except Midoriya. He curls in on himself further, before taking a deep breath and straightening up, unclenching his hands and putting on what he hopes is a reassuring smile. He still can’t meet Sensei’s eyes, instead looking at his capture scarf. “I’m really not lying Sensei! It’s nothing you’ve done at all, I just need to… work on some things!” His brow furrowed, trying to come up with a better way to phrase things, without incriminating himself. “I mean, I need to work on myself. I have to adjust, or well, change--”
“It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me….” First sings.

“Not helping!!” Ninth shouts.
“If this is due to any guilt you feel about what happened during the war and my injuries, then--” Aizawa is cut off as Midoriya yells,“No!” They both flinch at the loudness, and it quickly becomes quiet again. The clock ticks in the background as Midoriya struggles to calm himself.
“Dammit, why can’t I just be normal for once. I just want to be like my friends, why did I have to fall in love with Sensei??” Ninth despairs.

“You know Ninth, having a crush on a teacher is a pretty normal kid experience. Hell, your friends Sero and Kaminari have told you they have a crush on Midnight Sensei.” Fifth laughs.

“I do not have a CRUSH, I am in love with him. That’s completely different.” Ninth says mulishly.

“Sure Kid.” Second chimes in with a roll of his eyes.

“I’m sure you could just tell him the truth, Ninth. It might be awkward for a bit, but Aizawa Sensei cares about you and your class a lot and a crush or any non platonic feelings won’t change things for very long.” Seventh says soothingly.
“Tell him the truth…” Midoriya mumbles. “Kid?” Aizawa questions, leaning forward in concern. Midoriya jolts and starts flailing his arms, trying not to panic. “It’s just, well I, uh, um, hah, you see…” Midoriya sighs, slumping in defeat. He takes a deep breath, gathering his courage and starts his confession. “During the war, I realized how much you meant to me. It scared me that we came so close to losing you and I--” His voice breaks, and tears start falling out of his eyes, “I can’t lose you Sensei, so please…. I’m sorry but I don’t see you like the rest of the class sees you. You’re not a father figure to me because I’m in love with you! And-- and I know that’s wrong and gross but I can’t help it. You are a kind, caring, wonderful man who works so hard everyday to protect and teach others and I am so grateful to know you and be able to love you. I want, I want to stay by your side for the rest of my life. I want to be your equal, to help you and care for you, because I love you Sensei! I love you so much.” He sobs out, crying, fear and loathing burning through his veins. “That’s the reason I’ve been avoiding you. Because I didn’t want you to know, I was trying to, to stop loving you, stop being in love with you, but it’s not, not working! I don’t know how to… don’t know what to do!” The clock ticks.  “Please…. Sensei, please say something.” Midoriya whispers. Aizawa’s swallow is loud in the silence. “You…. love me?” Aizawa whispers, fragile. Midoriya nods, chest heaving from sobs and tears still flowing. “I’ve been trying not to, to feel this way--”“Don’t.” Aizawa says softly. Midoriya flinches back, expecting a lecture or rejection, something. Instead he feels a hand on his shoulder and when he looks up, Aizawa is kneeling in front of him, eyes wide and searching. He must find whatever he was looking for because his expression changes into one of…..awe?“You really love me back?” Aizawa whispers, and Midoriya’s mind is silent.
“Back?” Ninth questions.

“BACK?!” The vestiges shout.
“You started pulling away, and I thought you had found out about my feelings for you. I thought you were disgusted with me but didn’t want to confront me. I didn’t know what to do, but you really love me?” Aizawa asks desperately.  Midoriya nods hesitantly, and Aizawa sighs in relief, leaning forward to bury his face in Midoriya’s chest, arms wrapping around his waist. Midoriya looks down at his Sensei, completely baffled. “You’re not….mad at me? Sensei is in love with me too??” Midoriya mumbles, confused, “I’m dreaming.” He concludes and moves to pinch himself. Aizawa huffs a laugh and grabs his hand before he can pinch himself. He moves it up to his lips and leaves a lingering kiss on the back. He looks at Midoriya with hooded eyes, and murmurs,“You’re not, this is real.” His lips brushing the back of his hand.“A quirk then, hallucination maybe?” Midoriya counters, a bit breathless, eyes locked on the hand Aizawa still has captured near his lips. “No Izuku, neither of us are under a quirk’s influence. Would you like me to use Erasure on you to prove it?” Midoriya turns bright red, hearing his given name come out of his Sensei’s mouth.“That wouldn’t necessarily cancel out a quirks influence, like you can stop Toto-chan from making more ice but you can’t erase the ice he’s already created.” Midoriya reasons distractedly. Aizawa smiles up at him fondly. “That is true,” Aizawa replies, “so how can I convince you this is real? That my feelings are true, that I want you and only you?” He leans forward a bit more, gaze dropping to Midoriya’s lips. Midoriya blushes even more, letting out a little gasp and licking his lips. Aizawa bites his bottom lip, leaning forward until their noses are touching. “Tell me you want me.” Aizawa murmurs, low and gravely. “I want you.” Midoriya replies breathlessly. Aizawa closes the gap between them, letting go of Midoriya’s hand to entwine his fingers in green curls, keeping Midoriya close as he gently deepens the kiss. The arm around Midoriya’s waist tightens and pulls him forward towards the edge of the cushion, and Midoriya wraps his legs around Aizawa’s waist, one hand moving into Aizawa’s hair and the other gripping the back of his shirt. Midoriya pulls back, needing air and so Aizawa switches to nuzzling and gently kissing his jaw and neck, making Midoriya let out shaky laughter. “I want you to be mine,” Aizawa mumbles into his neck, “I want to be yours. I don’t want anyone to touch you again and I want you to be the only one to ever touch me again. Is that what you want, Izuku? Do you want that too?” “Yes,” Midoriya moans, “yes, I want that, want you to be mine, please, Aizawa.” “Shouta,” He corrects, “and good, because I don’t know what I would do if you didn’t.” “Shouta, Shouta please kiss me again.” Midoriya whines, ducking his head to try and capture Aizawa’s lips with his own. “Whatever you want, Izuku.”

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

“Midoriya, meet me after classes please.” Aizawa says, finishing morning announcements, zipping himself into his sleeping bag, and lying down in the corner of the classroom. In front of him, Kacchan lets out a sharp bark of laughter at him, while his other classmates call out teasing remarks or give him teasing looks. He sinks down in his chair in embarrassment, knowing he can’t say anything suggesting he’s not in trouble, because that could lead to them finding out about him and Aizawa kissing. The knowledge that he’s meeting with Aizawa again after school keeps him pretty distracted throughout the rest of the school day and when they finish with Heroics lessons, he’s the first out of his costume and in the showers.

“If I didn’t know any better I would say you’re almost eager for this punishment Izu-kun.” Kaminari teases, wiggling his eyebrows at him. Midoriya squeaks and blushes, flailing his arms around in denial.

“Why would you say it like that Denki-kun?! It’s not like that! I just don’t want to waste Aizawa-Sensei’s time!” Midoriya exclaims.

“Would you like one of us to accompany you? I know you and Aizawa-Sensei have been at odds recently. I would hate for you to be uncomfortable when we can do something to change that.” Todoroki speaks up from the other side of the lockers. Midoriya stops dead, shirt almost falling from his finger. His eyes dart around the room examining the rest of the boys who are all nodding along to Todoroki’s statement.

“You- huh?” He laughs nervously, “Aizawa-Sensei and I haven’t been--what??” Kacchan rolls his eyes at him.

“Yeah right, you went from following him around like a little puppy to leaving the room he’s in whenever you could get away with it. You barely spend any time with the Unicorn now too because she’s almost always with him. You’re not subtle Izuku.” The other boys nod along in agreement.

“We were going to wait another week or so to see if you would come to one of the class or work it out with Aizawa-Sensei, but now that Katsuki has brought it up… is everything okay Izuku?” Kirishima asks. Midoriya hunches in on himself, embarrassed at not being subtle like he thought he was and ashamed that he had made his friends worry about him.

“I… didn’t realize you had noticed… I just, uhm, Sensei and I, we talked the other day and are… working through my issues…which is why I’m excited to meet with Aizawa-Sensei today! So things will go back to normal and you won’t have to worry about it anymore!” Midoriya smiles determinedly at them, finishing tying his tie and gathering his bag to leave. The other boys look reassured and give their farewells and well wishes as he slips from the locker room, walking towards the teachers lounge. He sighs and runs his hand through his hair in agitation.

“

I can’t believe everyone noticed. Sensei and I are gonna have to come up with something so they don’t find out about our feelings for each other.”

He thinks, rounding the final corner, bracing himself before knocking on the lounge door. Aizawa slides the door open a second later and Midoriya perks up. He nods at him and says,

“Just a moment, I’ll grab my stuff and then we can head to the meeting room I reserved.” Midoriya nods in acceptance, and Aizawa turns around, gathering some stuff from his desk before leaving the lounge and leading Midoriya to the meeting room a few hallways away. Aizawa closes the door, flipping the sign to ‘In Use’ before locking it as well. Midoriya bites his lip in anticipation, wondering if he could reach out and hold Aizawa or if he should wait for him to make the first move. They regard each other for a second before Aizawa hesitantly reaches his hand out to card through Midoriya’s curls and Midoriya melts. He crashes into Aizawa, sighing in relief, and buries his head in Aizawa’s neck, hands clutching fistfuls of the back of Aizawa’s shirt. Aizawa huffs out a laugh, hugging him just as tightly and burying his nose in Midoriya’s curls. They stand, embracing and slightly swaying back and forth for a few moments before Aizawa lifts his head and looks down at Midoriya.

“Alright there Izuku?” He mumbles, and Midoriya nods, pulling his face out from the crook of Aizawa’s neck, smiling.

“Just missed you.” Midoriya replies shyly. Aizawa’s face softened as his grip on Midoriya tightened.

“I missed you too, baby boy.” Midoriya lets out a squeak at the pet name, then crinkles his nose in displeasure.

“What?” Aizawa questions, “Don’t like that one, baby? Sweetheart? Pet? Sweet cheeks?” Midoriya giggles, shaking his head with every worsening pet name.

“Darling?” Midoriya’s breath catches, eyes widening, and blush deepening.

“Ah, Darling it is then.” Aizawa murmurs, eyes hooded and dark, trained on Midoriya’s lips. His breath catches again, and he leans up to kiss Aizawa. They spend a few moments slowly kissing, before Aizawa pulls back and clears his throat.

“As much as I’d love to keep kissing you until the end of time, there are some things I want to talk to you about.” Midoriya pulls back, frowning in worry. Aizawa smiles reassuringly, running a hand through Midoriya’s curls before cupping the back of his head.

“Don’t worry, nothing bad, I just want to establish some rules around our relationship. Make sure we are on the same page, that’s all.” Aizawa says, and Midoriya relaxes, pressing back into Aizawa’s hand.

“Alright, what kind of rules?” Midoriya asks.

“Rules like: we can’t tell anyone about us, no public affection, which means no real dates until after you graduate, that kind of stuff. Want to make sure you’ve thought about this kinda stuff, darling.” Midoriya squeaks in embarrassed pleasure and leans forward into Aizawa’s chest to hide his face. . . . and quickly gets distracted when his face lands square between Aizawa’s pecs. His mind blanks as he starts rubbing his face back and forth between them, making Aizawa snort.

“Alright darling that’s enough,” He says, getting a solid grip on Midoriya’s curls and pulling his head back. Midoriya grins up at him unrepentant. “We should probably sit down, and separately if we want to finish this discussion in a timely manner.” Which makes Midoriya immediately sober up and get back on track. They move to sit opposite each other at the table, but Midoriya reaches out his hand, giving Aizawa a hopeful look. Aizawa melts and grabs his hand tenderly, kissing the back of it before setting it down and refocusing on the discussion.

“So rules.” Midoriya prompts, blushing slightly and smiling adoringly at Aizawa.

“Yes, rules,” He starts, “You know our relationship is…unorthodox, to put it nicely. And many others wouldn’t accept us being together.” Midoriya nods in understanding, gesturing for him to continue. “So we need to do our best not to bring suspicion on us or the nature of our relationship now.” Midoriya winces at that.

“About that,” Midoriya begins, “I may already have…?” Aizawa frowns in worry.

“What do you mean?”

“Well, I was just so excited to see you after classes today and apparently I hadn’t been subtle enough in my avoidance of you because the other boys, and apparently the girls too, noticed. And they asked me about it in the locker room after Heroics class….” Midoriya trails off into silence for a moment, watching Aizawa out of the corner of his eyes, hands fidgeting with Aizawa’s still captured hand. “But! I told them that we had talked and were working on my issues! So we can use that for a little while…?”  Aizawa mulls this over for a moment.

“That might work. Did you say what “issues” we were working on?” Aizawa asks.

“No, and I didn’t really say why I was avoiding you in the first place. Just that we were working on it and things would go back to normal soon.” Midoriya responds. Then, in a much quieter tone, “They were worried about me. Offered to come with me to our talk. I hate that I made them worry.”

“Hey now,” Aizawa murmurs, reaching his other hand over to cup Midoriy’s cheek, “they’re your friends, of course they’re gonna worry about you. You deserve to be worried over darling.” Izuku scrunches his nose in displeasure.

“Let’s agree to disagree.” Midoriya suggests. Aizawa huffs out a small breath.

“For now.” He agrees mildly. Midoriya perks up, pleased.

“Now, what other rules do we need?” Midoriya asks, wanting to get back on track. Aizawa hums, pulling his hand away from Midoriya’s cheek and clasping their hands together on the table.

“No sort of public affection. I don’t have favorites, and while I will admit I’m softer with you and your class, I’m still not a public affection type, so even some sort of platonic affection is bound to bring in questions, even if I distribute it between you and your classmates. But when I know it’s just you and I…” He trails off, a slight smirk on his face and Midoriya shivers.

“Right,” Midoriya breaths. “Right, so nothing to bring attention to our relationship, no public affection, anything else or can we go back to kissing?”

“Just a little longer darling.” Aizawa purrs. Midoriya huffs and pouts but gestured for him to continue. “Right, all that means we can’t go out one on one together. It will have to be a group thing where I am seen as a chaperone, do you understand?” Midoriya nods immediately, which makes Aizawa frown.

“I’m serious Izuku, have you really thought about this and if that’s the kind of relationship you want? We can’t truly be together or go on dates until you graduate
at least
. I don’t-” He cuts himself off with a frustrated huff, releasing one of Midoriya’s hands and rubbing at his own neck while he thinks. “You deserve to be more than to be a hidden away partner, to have to sneak around. I’m so grateful you return my feelings and am lucky you want to be with me romantically, but you deserve better, and a hidden relationship can get frustrating fast, not to mention this could cost you your Hero Career. So I want you to really consider what you are getting into, dating me.” Midoriya gives him an unimpressed look.

“I have thought about it, Shouta, and I don’t care if we have to sneak around for the rest of our lives, I’m willing to do it if it means getting to be with you. Sure I might get jealous occasionally because I can’t scream from the rooftops that you’re
mine
, but at the end of the day you’re mine and I’m yours and that’s all that matters. I don’t need grand public gestures, just being with you is enough. I promise.” Aizawa searches Midoriya’s face for a moment, trying to detect a lie or hint of upset, but finds nothing but genuine warmth and love. He relaxes, shoulders untensing and clasps their hands together again.

“Besides,” Midoriya continues, “Once I graduate, you and Eri can move in with me!” Aizawa freezes, dumbstruck, which makes Midoriya panic and try to back pedal. “Or close to me! You don’t have to live with me, it was just a suggestion-” He’s cut off by Aizawa leaning forward and capturing his lips in a bruising kiss. When they part, breathless, Aizawa says,

“I want that. To live with you. I want to live with you and make a home with you so badly. Please darling, let's move in together after you graduate.” Midoriya nods frantically, desperately.

“Yes, yes let’s make a home together.” Midoriya agrees.

“Good, good.” Aizawa mumbles distractedly, “Okay so, don’t do anything to draw attention to our relationship, no pda, no dates until after graduation, which is when we will move in together. Anything else you want to discuss? Concerns or strategies you want to bring up? We can always have another discussion later but the sooner we get on the same page and have the same information, the better.”

“Maybe some code phrases or gestures to differentiate between our meetups or an actual discussion about school? And we should probably talk about what sort of t-touching and stuff is fine when we are alone.” Midoriya gets out, embarrassed. Aizawa hums in agreement.

“Boundaries and experience levels are always good to talk about, but probably not today, we’ve already been in here almost an hour, anything longer might be too suspicious. Why don’t you and I make lists separately and we can compare and discuss them in our next meetup, hm?” Aizawa suggests.

“That sounds good,” Midoriya replies, “can we just kiss and hold each other for a little while then?”

“Sounds like a wonderful plan to me.” Aizawa agrees and rounds the table, wanting to pull Midoriya up and into his arms, but Midoriya pushes him into a chair and sits on his lap, kissing him fiercely.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

His head has been quiet recently. Ever since he and Shouta had first confessed their feelings for each other, the previous users hadn’t been as active lately, in his head or in his dreams. He’s been blocked from entering the throne room at night and can barely feel them during the day. It’s putting him on edge and it seems everyone has noticed.              “Are you alright, Midoriya-shounen? You seem a million miles away.” Yagi-Sensei asks. Midoriya jolts back to the present, looking over to Yagi-Sensei, both of them mid-side stretch. He straightens up and Yagi-Sensei follows him, waiting for his answer. Midoriya bites his lip, wondering what he should tell Yagi-Sensei about the previous users ignoring him. Yagi-Sensei might have never had the previous users in his head like he does, but One for All connected them in a way others didn’t really understand, so he decides to tell him a little bit.              “The other users, they’re… mad at me and haven’t really been talking to me or letting me in the throne room at night.” He says hesitantly. “I made a decision they don’t like, and since then, they’ve shut me out.” He can feel himself start to tear up. Annoyed, he wipes at his eyes and turns away, trying to stop crying. He knows they would start talking to him again if he breaks up with Shouta and turns him in, but he doesn’t want to. He loves having Shouta’s attention, his affection, his love. And what had happened to all that ‘you deserve to be selfish’ talk they’d been pushing on him a while back?!                              “Oh kid…” Seventh sighs, disappointment in her tone. He sobs, crying harder. Yagi-Sensei hesitates, before reaching out and placing a hand on Midoriya’s shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.“It must be a pretty serious decision for them to split from you like that. Will you tell me what decision you made?” Yagi-Sensei asks. Midoriya shakes his head.“You’ll be mad at me too.” He whispers. Yagi-Sensei lets out a sigh.“It sounds like a decision I wouldn’t approve of, yes. If you won’t tell me what, will you tell me if you are safe?” Yagi-Sensei implores softly. Midoriya pauses, and thinks about it. Shouta would never harm him on purpose, and while this could lose him his hero career, there are plenty of other jobs out there. Not his dream of course, but worth it so long as he gets to keep Shouta’s love. So he nods and says,“I don’t see this decision hurting me in any physical way, and no more emotionally than it already has.” Yagi-Sensei nods and lets out a breath.“Alright, that’s good. What about others? Will this decision hurt your loved ones, or anyone around you?” Midoriya pauses to think again. It could cause Shouta to lose his job, and his friends might be disgusted with them. It might upset them, but hurt them? He’s not sure and says as much. Yagi-Sensei nods thoughtfully, mulling over his answers before coming to a decision.“Sometimes, loved ones will make decisions you don’t agree with. That doesn’t mean they love you any less, it just means you don’t agree. I don’t have the full picture like you or the previous users do, so I can’t make a judgment on your decision. But I know that you are smart and kind and usually make decisions based on your lack of desire to hurt others. You are a dedicated friend, student, and hero.” Yagi-Sensei pauses, gathering his thoughts again. “Being a good teacher or mentor means letting you make mistakes and learning on your own, as much as I wish it didn’t. I don’t know if this decision is a mistake or will lead to one, but I will be here for you, no matter how it turns out. And I cannot speak for the previous users, but I’m sure they have your best interest in mind, and don’t want to see you hurt, as much as I do. I’m also sure there are things that I have done that they have not agreed with either; same with every user, all the way back to First. None of us are perfect, and we all make mistakes, large or small. I’m sure they will come around eventually. Alright, my boy?”“Can I have a hug, please?” Midoriya sobs out. Yagi-Sensei softens.“Of course my boy.”                Later that night, after falling asleep, he’s allowed in the throne room again. He perks up, hopeful, but deflates as he takes in the room. All the previous users are there, sitting on their thrones, solemn and grim. The only one willing to look at him is First. He looks sad.              “Hi.” Midoriya says softly, wanting to get what ever this is, over with. The only one who acknowledges him is First, who tries to give him a smile.              “You aren’t going to change your mind on this, are you?” First asks. Midoriya shakes his head no, crossing his arms in defense but also a self-soothing gesture.              “And what about the others? Have you thought that maybe you aren’t the only one he is preying on?” Second grounds out, trying not to raise his voice. Midoriya scowls.              “There aren’t any others, Shouta wants only me!” Midoriya isn’t quite yelling, but his voice is loud and upset. Why don’t they get it?              “Let’s say that’s true, that he only wants you now. What about before? How many other students has he hurt? Or just other kids in general?” Third asks.              “And if you are the first, how long do you expect this to last? Do you expect to be the only child he touches?” Sixths interjects.              “God, if he’s willing to do this to you, what’s going to happen to Eri?” Seventh whispers, head in her hands. Midoriya sees red.              “HE WOULDN’T! ERI IS A CHILD, HIS DAUGHTER! HE WOULD NEVER TOUCH HER!” Midoriya shouts.“So are you! You are a child too, a student under his care, and he’s touching you! What’s stopping him from touching her? Maybe he already has!” Seventh yells back.Midoriya goes to attack her, but First and Second get in his way, holding him back, while the others jump from their seats and group together, moving Seventh farther away. Midoriya shouts denials all the while, until his voice is hoarse and tears start pouring from his eyes. He collapses, and First goes down with him, hugging him and trying to regulate his breathing. Second crouches down a few paces away from the duo, watching.“I know how difficult it can be, accepting someone you love and admire so much can be a bad person.” First starts, rubbing his hand up and down Midoriya’s back soothingly. “Like Eighth said, we don’t want to see you hurt, and being with him will.  We can’t stop you from being in a relationship with him, this is a mistake you want to make yourself and we will let you. But have you really thought about it, Ninth? What a 31 year old adult getting into a relationship with a 16 year old child means? Pedophiles don’t have just one target, one “special case”, and he works around children every. Day. He has his own child that he is trusted with. Being with you means there’s a real possibility he has been with other children as well, some maybe even younger than you.” First pauses, letting his words sink in and Midoriya clings tightly to him, burying his face in his neck, shaking his head in denial. First sighs.“Can you at least try to see it from our point of view? Can you think about how he might hurt others, before or after you?” First pleads.“I don’t want to.” Midoriya sobs out. “I want to be special, I want to be selfish and take and take and take! I want his love and affection and I want to grow old with him! I want him to want me, I want his feelings to be true! I want his feelings to be for me only, for the rest of time! I’m tired of thinking of everyone else first and I don’t want to! I don’t want him to a bad person, I want him to be mine!” First hugs him tighter, tear falling into Midoriya’s curls. Second sighs, running a hand over his head.“We know kid, and we are sorry, but this isn’t something you should be selfish with. I’m sorry Ninth, but it just isn’t.” Second murmurs out, and the rest of the vestiges gather closer, kneeling or sitting, wanting to comfort their youngest. They sit together, silent as Midoriya cries himself out, his shuddering and heaving wails quiet, and his sniffles come to a stop.              “I’m not. I’m going to be selfish anyway.” Midoriya croaks. The others look on in disappointment. “But I’ll keep an eye out on Eri, and ask Shouta about any others. I know you think he would, but I know he wouldn’t. He isn’t like that, and when he says so, I’m gonna trust him.”              “Okay Ninth. It’s your mistake to make.”
