"Covered In Kits"Thace shook his head slightly. He didn't know how most of his pack got turned into kits. He guessed it wasn't a good idea to send Kolivan, Keith, Acxa, Regris, and Antok on a mission together. Ulaz was in the med bay, trying to figure out if there was something he could do. Meanwhile, he and Krolia were in charge of watching the five kits. Krolia had her claws full with her three now tiny kits.Keith, Acxa, and Regris were now three-deeca-phoebes-old and all wanted to cling to their mom, even though Keith and Acxa were her only biological kits. She had adopted Regris and he was a good big brother to her twins. She knew the three of them remembered everything, but their kit instincts were too strong to ignore. It took little coaxing for them to give into them. However, she also had two other kits that wanted to cling to her as well.Kolivan and Antok were a bit older than the rest of the kits at ten-deca-phoebes-old. They also remembered everything and had given into their kit instincts. They wanted to stay with each other and with Krolia as well, her being so gentle and maternal to her own kits.Krolia was covered with kits. Keith was in her arms, Acxa was curled up on her right side, while Antok and Kolivan were cuddling each other on her left. Regris was clinging onto her back, and his tail was linked with Antok's as the older kit was behind his mate.Krolia was rumbling soothingly to the five kits, causing them to start drifting off to sleep. As purrs filled the nest, Ulaz quietly slipped back into the nest and snuggled against his mate. Making sure the kits wouldn't wake up, Ulaz whispered to Thace, "I got the results back.""What were they?"Ulaz smiled softly. "I discovered a strange substance in their systems but couldn't identify it. However, I did figure out that it just has to work its way out of their systems on its own.""How long is that going to take?" Thace asked as he wrapped an arm around his mate's shoulders, pulling him closer."I don't know," Ulaz admitted as he snuggled against the violet furred Blade. He turned to look at the sleeping, purring kits gathered around Krolia, who was looking tired herself. Ulaz hummed, catching Krolia's attention without disturbing any of the kits. "You are tired, sister. You should get some rest too. Thace and I will keep an eye on anyone who wakes up before you do."Krolia nodded and carefully shifted her torso so she was partially laying on her side and not laying on any of the kits. She nuzzled Keith and buried her nose into his hair, her purr joining the kits' once her eyes closed.Ulaz and Thace sighed as they cuddled each other. They didn't know how long this was going to last, but they knew they would get through it...somehow.Fin
