----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Suga likes to think he is completely and utterly content with his place as Daichi's househusband, he finds the cleaning relaxing, he finds cooking more of a hobby than a chore and he likes having some quality time to himself. He and Daichi agreed on this life just a year after their wedding after all, and despite how long the 3 years since that day have felt, Suga insists that nothing could make him bored with this. But all that down time allows Suga to think, and when Suga thinks, he thinks long and hard. He thinks long and hard about how his friends from high school are doing, and how much busier their lives seem, all the travel, all the new places and all the new experiences. Suga is content with being a househusband, but is he happy with it? Suga just can't tell anymore. When Daichi returned from work that evening, He was met how he always was, a peck on the lips from Suga and then instantly ushered to the dining table, where dinner always awaited him. As always, the couple dined in silence, usually comfortable, but tonight, the air was off."Suga?" Daichi asked, his brows furrowed ever so slightly, "Are you alright?""Hm? Of course, why wouldn't I be?" Suga responded, his voice revealing how startled he was after being unceremoniously thrust from his daydream."You seem....Off? I don't know, you just don't seem your usual self" Daichi expressed, his brow now more furrowed before, though less in confusion and more in concern."I'm fine Daichi, I promise, just been thinking" Suga revealed, his voice more distant than usual."Well, what have you been thinking about?" Daichi asked, significantly more at ease now that the worry of something weighing on his husband has been lifted."Well, um.." Suga stalled, not wanting to reveal his true thoughts to Daichi, "You and your work mates closed that big case recently, didn't you?""Yes?" Daichi replied."Why don't we do something to celebrate?" Suga suggested."That's a great idea! How about we invite them over for drinks this Saturday?" Daichi remarked, significantly more chipper at the thought of having his friends around."Yeah..Great idea.." Suga said in somewhat of a grumble, his mind had lent towards having a date night, just the two of them, but maybe, just maybe, having people over could be good for his spirits. Suga had met all of Daichi's closest work friends, of course he had, Daichi had them all over before, though, they had never been over all at once. Suga could handle it though, a room of tipsy alphas? Yeah, Suga could handle it, he had handled classes full of pre-schoolers before he and Daichi tied the knot, he could handle a room of tipsy alphas just fine, right? Saturday appears very quickly, and so do Daichi's co-workers the second 5pm hits. As the alphas huddle on the couch each 3-4 beers in, watching the most interesting game show Suga has seen in a long time, 'gladiators' Suga believes, Suga works on getting more snacks, occasionally peeking his head around the corner whenever there was a particular uproar from the men now hogging his favourite seat. Once Suga finally deems the snacks presentable, he carries them through and places them on the coffee table. "Thank you Suga," one of his husband's co-workers blights, Kuroo, if Suga isn't mistaken. Following Kuroo's exclamation of thanks, a chorus of 'thank you's erupted from the other alphas. Those thanks made Suga flush, never having felt so appreciated for a while. As the night carried on, it became more and more apparent to Suga that these alphas were nor going to be leaving anytime soon, and these alphas had no intentions to stop drinking anytime soon, Suga is just glad the brought their own beers alongside the ones he and Daichi had purchased in preparation for the night. Several hours later, the chatter of the alphas seemed to have dimmed in to some form of unintelligible whisper-yelling. Suga couldn't make out anything being said by the alphas from his and Daichi's room, where Daichi was currently sleeping. "He's always been a bit of a lightweight," Suga thought aloud to himself. Once the bore of sitting alone silently had set in, Suga decided to make his way to the living room and join the other alphas. Upon his entering, the alphas all turned to him, offered him warm, somewhat mischievous smiles and those who sat on the couch, Oikawa and Bokuto, if Suga recalled correctly, scooted more sideways to allow him a seat between them, which he took quite happily. A silence overcame the once buzzing room, a tense silence, as if the alphas knew not what to do in the presence of an omega quite like Suga."So...Um, Suga.....How are you?" The alpha who was sat in what is usually Suga's chair asked, Terushima, Suga believes."I'm alright Terushima," Suga remarked, a giggle following at the awkwardness of the question's delivery, despite having no beer what so ever, Suga himself was lightly tipsy as he had been slyly partaking in a bottle of white wine he and Daichi kept in a cabinet, the once full bottle was now down to about a quarter of it left. The giggle that had left Suga's lips rose a blush to the all of the other men's faces. Suga paid the blush only the slightest of mind, he was fully aware of what the alphas thought of him, he had heard them throughout the night make comments on how pretty he is or how Daichi 'bagged a gorgeous omega' and to say the least, he was flattered, having the knowledge that so many alphas not only found you physically attractive but intelligent too, as the alphas had made pretty clear earlier in the night that they thought Daichi managed to get an omega who was 'the total package' is quite emotionally endearing. Suga would be the first to admit that the alphas in the room were attractive. Despite having a husband, of which he entirely adores, Suga can confess that the alphas in the room with him now are undeniably stunning. He pays no mind to how they look at him, if not playing it all up to them being several beers deep. He pays no mind to how the conversation shifts to have even the slightest amount of flirtatious undertones. He pays no mind to the way Bokuto's hand manages to find its place, resting on his thigh. He pays no mind to the way Oikawa's arm is now rested over his shoulder. He pays no mind to how Kuroo has subtly made his way over to him, across the floor, head now resting between his legs. He pays no mind to the sad twinge to their looks as he rises to get himself a glass of water. He pays no mind to the way Terushima follows closely behind him. He only begins to pay some mind once he is pinned by the waist against his own counter tops by an alpha that isn't his husband. He pays all the mind when a soft pair of lips his pressed to his briefly before they retreat, and Terushima slinks back to the living room. And he has no mind left to pay once he realises that he misses those lips already. And so the night carries on, each time Suga leaves the room, an alpha follows, the alpha kisses him and leaves before they can be questioned. Each time Suga is perplexed by the lingering feeling of want left curdling in his stomach. As the night continues, the alphas lose their energy and fall asleep expectedly. After they all begin to slumber, Suga makes his way to bed, where Daichi still resides and slips in, the feeling of Daichi beside him has guilt churning within him. By the time he awakes, it's just barely noon. He makes his was downstairs, head pounding every step. He follows a delicious scent to find Daichi placing two plates of food on the table. He looks Suga's way and smiles, but doesn't speak, Suga's headache is more obvious than he thinks. They, like always, dine in silence, the air even tenser than when Daichi suggested inviting his friends over. Once their finished, Daichi clears the dishes, and leaves them by the sink."The guys left at about ten," He said, "they had some pretty guilty looks on their faces, I think their embarrassed by how much they drank," He then let out a light chuckle."Ah, okay, I was wondering where they were" Suga replied, his voice hoarse and strained,"Have a glass of water babe, your voice is shot," Daichi poured Suga a glass,"Thanks Daichi," Later that day, Suga began to take in the reality of what happened with Daichi's alpha friends the previous night, the guilt set in but moments later. His mind then began to race, what was he to tell Daichi? How was he to tell Daichi? Should he really tell Daichi? Suga was conflicted, he loved Daichi, truly, but the monotony of his life as a househusband was starting to get to him mentally. He vowed to tell Daichi that night. The night time came faster than Suga anticipated, he and Daichi were once again sat at the dining table, eating in silence."Daichi," Suga began, "There is something I'd like to talk to you about,""Go ahead Suga, I'm all ears,""Something rather unexpected happened last night that reassured some thoughts I had been having that morning and I feel you need to know,""Alright then, say whatever's on you mind""I kissed your friends last night. All of them. On the lips. I'm so very sorry!""Suga-""I'm so sorry Daichi! I love you, I promise! I swear I meant nothing by it! I don't know what came over me!" Suga rambled"Suga! Calm down, I know," Daichi said, his face wearing nothing but a warm smile."You....Know?""I know you kissed my friends last night, and I know you're not happy with me,""I am happy with you Daichi, I swear!""No you're not Suga, I can tell,""Really?""We've known each other for years Suga, of course I can tell when you're unhappy," By now, both Daichi and Suga have tears running down their faces, Suga's sobs far more prevalent in the now silent room."What does this mean for us?" Suga asked, still choking on tears,"Whatever we need it to," Daichi responds,"Are you going to leave me?" Suga chokes out, his tears now pouring heavier than before,"Not necessarily," Daichi replied, "Perhaps it would be best for us to separate emotionally until we establish what we want,""Okay.." Suga sniffles. With this new arrangement established, Daichi's and Suga's lives continue, they alternate between who sleeps in bed or on the couch, Suga finds a job in the teaching field once again, they both eat alone at the table. Suga seems happier, he goes out more, and he and Daichi still communicate like friends. It's clear to them both that they both still love each other very much. But does them being separated make them happier or does it just make them content?
