"I hate your friends," Eriana-3 said."They're also your friends," Wei Ning pointed out, although she didn't sound quite as maddeningly cheerful as usual. She pulled her helmet off and heaved it at the shimmering purple wall blocking them off from the rest of the Vex-infested cave.It bounced off and hit her in the face."I hate our friends," said Eriana."To be fair, I probably shouldn't have stuck my hand there right when the gate opened." Wei Ning grinned. "Even if it did make your lights do that really pretty -"Eriana picked the helmet up off the floor and threw it at her again.Wei caught it with a tiny "oof," then said, "Do you think I could get Kabr to show me how he did it? We could absolutely destroy at Control with a ward this solid and long-lasting. Just sit on point B and laugh while everyone beats their heads against it.""That's exactly why he'll never show you." Eriana sighed, hearing the distant metallic uproar as Kabr, Eris, and Omar clashed with the gate lord and its forces. A mighty battle that they should be part of, damn it.On the other hand..."Guess we might as well make the best of it, huh?" Wei said, completely expectedly, and slipped her hand through the still-loose fastening in Eriana's robes that had caused the barrier."I hate you, too," Eriana said, and shoved Wei Ning down to the cave floor.
