Work Text
You were awoken by loud scratching and whimpers. Your pitbull, Nuclear Bomb, was tearing up your door trying to get out. With a groan, you slowly sat up and checked your phone. 5 in the morning. Great. “Fuckin’ hell, Nuke…” You forced yourself to stand up, swinging your legs off of the bed and stumbling once you hit the ground. Catching a glimpse at yourself in the mirror, you cringe. Messy short hair, tired red eyes, a black tank top and fluffy pajama pants. Running your fingers through your hair, you opened the door for her and tried your best to follow her downstairs without tripping and dying. Grabbing her leash, you hooked it onto her spiked collar and led her outside. You weren't a morning person by any means. It had been forever since you last saw the sunrise- and you had to admit- it was gorgeous. The air felt nice, the neighborhood was quiet, birds were singing, flowers were blooming. Maybe you should take the opportunity and enjoy this. After all, you weren't about to get up this early again any time soon. Once Nuke finished her business, you went back inside and got dressed. You slipped on a blue crop top with white felt stars sewn on the chest and long white sleeves, pulled up your baggy patch-covered pants that you wore literally every day with a studded white star belt, and sparkly white platform boots. You accessorized with dangle star earrings, a couple necklaces and bracelets, and a spiked collar to match with Nuke. Afterwards, you grabbed your guitar, keys, and Nuclear Bomb’s leash once more, and left. You sat down a nice hill near your house, looking out over a lake with a nearby forest. Nuke rolled around in a patch of little flowers as you tuned your instrument, and you couldn't help but laugh. She really was the cutest- it was too bad pitbulls had such a bad reputation. Then again, you probably weren't helping that stereotype by literally naming her ‘Nuclear Bomb'. But, in your defense- it was funny. After a moment debating what song to play, you settled on ‘Question!’ by SOAD. It fit well enough for the situation, it wasn't too loud nor hyper. Except for the beginning, but you could just play a mellowed version. As you started playing the first few chords, Nuke trotted over and laid next to you. Smiling, you closed your eyes and relaxed. You jolted at the sound of rocks banging together repeatedly. You had just finished playing the song, (which sounded pretty great in your opinion-), only to have your ears assaulted. Snapping your head towards the sound, you were surprised to see two skeletons standing there. One was short and clapping rapidly- ohh, that was the sound- with big stars in his sockets and a large grin. He wore what looked to be armor with a blue bandana around his neck. Next to him was a much taller skeleton, wearing an orange hoodie, cargo shorts, and pink crocs. He looked just as surprised as you were, staring back at you. It had been only two months since monsters emerged. You’ve seen a good amount of monsters before since you lived right next to Mt. Ebott, so you weren't shocked to see a pair of boney guys. But you were shocked to have an audience. Your initial embarrassment faded for the most part as you realized just how much the small one enjoyed it. It felt… really nice. “I'm uh- I'm glad you enjoyed my little performance, partner.” You said with a smile and your best southern twang, tipping your non-existent hat. That bandana he was wearing put you in a cowboy mood. The star-eyed skeleton somehow smiled even wider, while the lanky one seemed even more surprised. “OF COURSE! IT WAS WONDERFUL!” The blue one beamed back at you. You flinched at his surprisingly booming voice. That was not what you expected. You quickly shook it off though, he seemed sweet. He bounded towards you, stopping right in front of you- (definitely invading your personal space)- and clasped his gloves hands together. “WHAT'S YOUR NAME, HUMAN?” He asked excitedly. You leaned away from him slightly, your smile unfaltering. “Eh, I don't really have one. Call me whatever you want, cowboy.” You hated your birth name, and you haven't been able to find a new one that really fit. After years of telling people to call you whatever they want, you were definitely a man of many names by this point. The skeleton’s face somehow scrunched up, deep in thought, before lighting up once more. “STARLIGHT SEEMS FITTING!” You tilted your head, why was that fitting? Answering your unasked question, he puffed out his chest and pointed to the stars on your shirt and belt. Yeah, that made sense. Before you could respond, the taller skeleton coughed into his hand awkwardly, avoiding eye contact while doing so. “we’re gonna be late to training, bro.” He said, his voice nice and low, and smooth- almost like honey. The skeleton in front of you frowned at him for a moment, before relenting with a sigh. He ran back over to the orange twink, beaming at you once more. “GOODBYE, STARLIGHT!” He shouted. “Wait- what's your name!?” You asked loudly, stopping him in his tracks. He turned to you, placed his hands on his hips proudly, and announced: “THE MAGNIFICENT SA- ER, BLUE! IT WAS WONDERFUL MEETI-” He was cut off with a yelp as the tall one yanked him by the bandana, dragging him away. He raised his hand as a small wave. “stretch”, he stated simply as he pulled an annoyed Blue. …Stretch? …. ……. ……..Was it that obvious that you didn't exercise? After a moment of trying to process what just happened- you turned to Nuke wait where the fuck was Nuke. You looked around yourself, panic slowly seeping in. God. Fucking. D a m n i t. —--------- “NUKE! NUKE, C’MERE GIRL!” You’ve been yelling at the top of your lungs for five minutes now. After checking around the lake and nearby houses, you figured she must've ran off into the forest. Despite still being morning, the forest was strangely dark. Poor Nuke was probably scared out of her mind… Well, she would be if she had one. She wasn't exactly a smart dog. You took a deep breath, ready to scream her name again- only to actually scream as you were suddenly lifted into the air. A large net was holding you up… what the fuck Is this Looney Tunes bullshit. You struggled for a moment- only to freeze when you heard a voice. “SANS! SANS, I CAUGHT SOMETHING!” A loud voice shouted. Looking down, you noticed an abnormally tall skeleton running towards you. Another one? Huh, maybe they were a common species, like froggits. “WOWEE! A HUMAN!” The skeleton’s gloves hands pressed against either sides of his face as his tiny empty sockets somehow sparkled. His teeth were jagged and red-stained, and he wore a grey sweater that was way too small for him along with slacks and fancy dress shoes. A pair of glasses were taped to his skull. He looked adorable. “Hello!” You couldn't help but reply in a sing-song tone, smiling back at him. He lit up even more. “WOW! DESPITE BEING TRAPPED AND HELPLESS, YOU SEEM TO BE UNBOTHERED!” Somehow, that felt like a compliment. “Well, there's no need to be scared when I've got a knight in shining armor right in front of me.” You replied with a wink. He immediately flushed a bright orange- (The skeleton was blushing????)- and stammered incoherently. You giggled at how cute he was being- before screaming again as you suddenly fell. Your throat was going to hurt. “SANS!!!” The cutie patootie stomped as he yelled at someone behind you, “YOU COULD'VE HURT THE HUMAN!!!” Turning to see the victim of his berating, you weren't too surprised to see another bonehead. He towered over you, with a sinister grin, wearing a dusty stained blue jacket and white tee. There was also this small, hard to notice feature on his skull: a large fucking gaping hole in the side. “heh. you dust be pretty stupid if you're this calm.” His voice was a deep baritone, nice on the ears. In fact, it was so nice, you didn't even hear the actual words he said. “...Your voice is hot,” you blurted out. You always had a habit of speaking without thinking. “I- uh- s-sorry if that made you uncomfortable, my bad-” you apologized with a nervous lopsided smile, fidgeting with your hands. The smile had completely dropped from his face, and his one socket was wide open. He seemed speechless, and you couldn't blame him. Before you could apologize any further, he looked away and responded quietly. “ya really are stupid, kid.” Well, he wasn't wrong. “SANS!!!!!! STOP INSULTING HER!! WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS?!?!” The tall one huffed, before scooping you up from under your arms and raising you to his level. “ARE YOU HURT, HUMAN?!” He asked with worry. Your heart melted. “Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry ‘bout it.” You said nonchalantly. His sockets squinted, examined your body, and then looked back up at you. “ARE YOU SURE?” You snorted, too cute. “Why, do I look like shit?” You teased. He looked almost horrified at the notion, and quickly tried to repair your oh-so bruised ego. “NOT AT ALL! I WAS JUST- I WANTED- S-SOMETIMES SANS LIES ABOUT BEING OKAY, S-SO I WANTED TO MAKE SURE! THAT YOU'RE OKAY!” You giggled, and he seemed to relax. You contemplated teasing him further by asking if he was calling you a liar, but decided to have mercy on him. “so what were ya doing all alone in the woods, human?” The other skeleton- (The cute one called him Sans, right?)- asked you, his voice right in your ear. You jumped a bit and looked at him, ready to respond before realizing… …Why were you out here? …. ….. …… “Nuke!” You suddenly shouted as you remembered. “NUKE?” “nuke?” You nodded, “Yeah, my dog! I was trying to find her!” Sans looked perplexed, yet amused. “ya named your dog-” “I FOUND A DOG NOT TOO LONG AGO!” The cutie beamed at you with his chest puffed out. He shifted you so that he was carrying you under one arm- holy shit he's strong for someone with no muscles- and brought you deeper into the woods. He wasn't able to get too far before Sans spoke up. “i don't think that's a good idea, paps… ya know what the others will think.” Paps- apparently- stopped. He looked almost… distraught, and looked down at the dirt. “I SUPPOSE YOU'RE RIGHT…” That look hurt your very soul. You wanted to comfort him, but since you had no context, you really couldn't. “wait right here, bro.” Sans said, followed by a strange sound. You looked up at Paps with a frown, “So…” Before you could even get a second word in, that strange sound occurred again, and Sans walked in front of you, holding Nuke’s leash. “Nuke!” You squirmed out of Paps’ hold, and kneeled, wrapping your arms around her neck. You sucked air through your teeth- you forgot she was wearing a spiked collar. Moving your arms lower, under the collar, you hugged her tightly. After a moment you pulled away and beamed up at the two skeletons. “Thank y’all so much!” “N-NO PROBLEM, HUMAN!”
“don't mention it.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Your clothes were pretty dirty after falling on the ground multiple times in the forest. After tossing them in the wash,
(except for your beloved patch pants, you could wash them later),
you put on a red sleeveless crop top with one of those cool fast cars on it, with a black-and-white checkered belt to go with the racing aesthetic, red toy car earrings, and spiky black boots.
It was time for you to go grocery shopping. You lived with three friends, so food vanished quickly. As you were heading downstairs, one of your friends- Bee- popped their head out from their room. “Hey babe, do you mind dropping by the comic store for me? They’ve got Spider-Man comics on sale.”
“...Okay? Which one do you want?”
“All of them.”
“All???”
“Yup!”
“Do you have money?”
“Here-”
They hand you five bucks.
“That's not enough-”
“Thanks!”
Their door slammed shut.
You sigh and stuff the money into your pocket. Grabbing your wallet and keys, you leave.
—-------
Each comic cost 5 bucks.
And there were like 30 of them.
…Fucking hell.
You snap a picture of the display and send it to Bee, asking them which one they want. Your eyes scan the displa- your breathing stops.
Holy shit.
On the display, was the one and only-
Spider-Man: Reign.
You carefully,
very carefully,
pick it up.
This bad boy was going to be displayed on the wall.
You stare at the comic, and for a moment, it's only you two in the world.
Is this…
love?
Before you can make out with the comic, you overhear yelling.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T OWN IT?!” A voice that sounded like nails on a chalkboard screamed. You peer around a bookcase only to see-
oh my god seriously-
even more skeletons. There were two, one shorter than you and one taller than you. The shortstack wore a leather jacket over a black crop top, with gold accents and a purple bandana. He had sharp teeth and a crack over his left socket, and looked like he was about to skin the cashier alive- who looked like he was currently pissing his pants.
Your first thought was that a service worker was being berated for no reason-
Before realizing that he might’ve said something racist.
Hell, that was common.
You decide to not jump to conclusions, and approach carefully. You walk up and lean against the counter, looking between the two men.
“What's the problem?” You ask casually, keeping your face neutral. The shortstack freezes, his eyelights slowly traveling down your form, and back up to your eyes. He crosses his arms and looks away with a scowl, “HE WON'T SELL A COMIC TO ME.” You look at the cashier and narrow your eyes- he won't sell to a monster, hm?
The cashier waves his hands frantically, “No! We just don't have the comic! I'm sorry, sir!” You let out a sigh of relief before looking back at the skeleton. “It ain't his fault, bud.” You state simply. He looks like he's about to explode- so you decide to say something before he can blow up at you. “What comic is it anyways?”
He relaxed a bit, cracking a small smile. “PUNISHER WAR ZONE ISSUE 2 FROM 1992!” From his prideful look, you can tell he thought he was so cool for liking Punisher. You thought for a moment, didn't Bee own a bunch of Punisher comics? “Hold on-” You pull out your phone and see that Bee responded to your earlier message, telling you which comic they wanted. You shoot them a text asking if they owned the comic, and they responded fairly quickly saying that they did. You look back up at the skeleton who was tapping his foot impatiently and glaring up at you. “My friend owns it if you want to borrow it.”
His sockets widen before narrowing. “I'M NOT INTERESTED IN TORN UP LEFTOVERS, PEASANT.” You snorted at his phrasing. “Nah, they keep their comics in pristine condition. Don't worry.” He considered what you said, and huffed. “FINE. TELL ME YOUR ADDRESS SO I CAN PICK IT UP.”
“Or I could give you my number.”
“YOU DON'T DESERVE MY CONTACT INFORMATION!!!” He screeched, his face purple and contorted with disgust. You chuckle and grab your pad of sticky notes from one of your pockets and jot down your address, pulling it off and handing it to him. Was it irresponsible to give a stranger your address? Absolutely. Did you care? Not really.
He snatched the note from your hands and shoved it into the taller skeletons' hands. He was weirdly silent- maybe he was mute?
Speaking of mute, the skeleton's leave without another word.
Not even a thank you.
You grab the comic Bee wanted, and proceed to buy theirs and yours.
—-------
Holy shit.
More.
God damn.
S k e l e t o n s.
You had been walking to the store, and while turning a corner, crashed into a massive skinless man. The two of you were now sitting on the sidewalk after falling, and he was screaming at you about how stupid and careless you were.
He wasn't wrong about the careless part.
In fact, you couldn't care about what he was saying.
You noticed that he's rubbing the palms of his hands, as if they were hurt. Completely ignoring his berating, you lean forward and gently take his hands into yours. His screeching immediately stops, which allows you to examine them in peace. There were a couple scratches, nothing too bad. Might as well patch them up.
You dig into one of your million pockets and take out a small box of Hello Kitty bandaids. Gently, you place a couple over the scratches and sit back on your heels, stuffing the box back into your pants.
His jaw, which was full of sharp teeth- was practically on the floor. Slowly, his face grew more and more red, until his jaw snapped shut. He quickly stood up, towering over you, and-
…Ran?
He was already halfway down the block.
A low, guttural laugh echoed from behind you, and you looked to see yet another skeleton with his head thrown back. His sharp gold tooth glinted as he cackled, a gold ring clad hand covering his face.
“Did… did I offend him?” You ask nervously as you stand up and brush yourself off. His laughing dies down and he wipes away a red tear. “nah doll, ya just surprised him.” His eyelights scan you for a moment, as if sizing you up. He takes a step closer, making you realize that he's quite a bit bigger than you. His smile grew more sharp, like a predator watching prey.
“I bet you're full of surprises, ain'tcha, sweetheart?” He purrs in a low voice. You struggled to keep your knees from buckling. Where the hell did this come from? He puts a piece of paper in your hand and winks, “don't be a stranger, sugar.” And with that, he walks off in the opposite direction the other skeleton went. You look down at the paper. It had a phone number accompanied by two simple, elegant words:
‘Wanna bone?’
—------
Pushing your cart into the pasta aisle, you were surprised- but also not surprised- to see another skeleton. Unlike the other million times today, he didn't seem to come in a pair. He wore white armor and a long red scarf, with matching red boots. Tearing your eyes away from him, you scan the shelves, only to find your favorite brand of spaghetti noodles to be blocked by the living gaggle of bones. Parking your cart up against the shelves and out of the walkway, you look up at him and clear your throat. “Um, excuse me- I need to grab a box-” you say with a nervous smile. You always hated bothering people.
He looks down at you with a big grin. “OF COURSE, MY APOLOGIES!” He takes a step back, and you relax. You didn't realize just how nervous asking him to move made you. “Thank you!” You grab the box, and set it in your cart, expecting the interaction to end there. Of course, it didn't. “AH, GREAT CHOICE! I SEE YOU ARE A PASTA ARTISAN AS WELL!”
“Ah, not really- I don't even cook.” You say, a little embarrassed. Your friends don't even let you into the kitchen. You expected him to be disappointed by this, but for some reason, his empty sockets seemed to sparkle. He leans down, his face close to yours- “I COULD TEACH YOU! WE COULD MAKE FRIENDSHIP SPAGHETTI TOGETHER!!!” He announced. You weren't entirely sure if you wanted to, but seeing this cute stranger so happy by the idea… you just had to agree.
“Uh- sure! What time?”
“TONIGHT!”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“EVERYONE! I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!” Papyrus declared as soon as he stepped foot inside the house. Red, Stretch, and Blue paused their game to look at him from the couch. Mutt short cut into one of the arm chairs, and Sans- who was in the other arm chair already- sighed before teleporting outside to get Edge, Black, Crooks, and Axe.
Once everyone was gathered at the dining room table, Papyrus slammed his hands onto the hard wood with a triumphant and excited grin.
“WE'RE HAVING A GUEST OVER FOR DINNER!”
Blue and Crooks cheered, and started asking a million questions about who they were. Red and Axe groaned, Red slouching in his chair while Axe let his skull fall face first onto the table. Mutt, Stretch and Sans were mildly interested. Edge scowled, and Black protested loudly.
“WHAT’S THEIR NAME?!”
“ARE THEY A NEW FRIEND?!
“I NEVER AGREED TO THIS!”
Papyrus tried his best to answer Blue and Crooks’ query's- but was quickly cut off by Edge abruptly standing.
He didn't seem pleased in the slightest.
“PUT IT TO A VOTE.”
“HOW CAN WE MAKE A VOTE IF WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THEY ARE!” Blue huffed.
“SHE’S SWEET AND LIKES SPAGHETTI!” Papyrus elaborated.
“I APPROVE!” Crooks clasped his hand together gleefully.
Sans, who was getting tired of the yelling, rubbed in between his sockets as he spoke. “paps, can you give us a bit more info?” Papyrus nodded vigorously. “SHE’S A HUMAN, AND SHE WAS WEARING A REALLY COOL OUTFIT!”
That caught everyone's attention.
Blue’s jaw dropped with big stars in his sockets while Stretch froze.
Crooks gasped while Axe’s skull turned red, grimacing as he put up his hood.
Black started screaming about inviting a human over while Mutt smirked to himself.
Edge bolted out of the room while Red roared with laughter.
Sans was just confused at everyone's reactions.
—----
“Do, we- do we know? When we fly~”
“When, we- when we go… Do we die?~”
stretch stopped in his tracks. the voice was so pretty and calming, so melodic. combined with the nice acoustics, it was almost angelic. looking up at the pink and orange sky, listening to the music… he let out a breath. he made a mental note to practice his guitar later. it had been too long.
“BROTHER!” he was snapped out of his thoughts, turning to his pouting brother. “WERE YOU LISTENING AT ALL?!” stretch shrugged, “sorry bro, something caught my a-
tune-
tion.” blue looked utterly confused, before also noticing the sound.
“Sweet berries ready for two ghosts are no different than you…”
“Ghosts are now waiting for you- Are you dreaming?~”
stretch chuckled as his eye lights shifted into stars. before he could tease him for it, his awe-struck brother took off towards the little hill. blue always made sure they got to training early, but today seemed to be an exception. short-cutting next to blue, stretch tensed when he saw it was a human playing. most humans were pretty hostile towards monsters, so he was immediately on guard. it didn't matter how easy on the SOUL this human’s appearance and voice were, sirens existed in mythology for a reason.
blue started clapping as soon as she was finished, startling both the human and stretch. before he could pull blue away and avoid being seen, she turned towards them. he looked like a deer in headlights as he stared at her, hoping she would at the very least not get physical.
“I'm uh- I'm glad you enjoyed my little performance, partner.” she said in that honey voice of hers, putting on a southern accent and tipping an invisible hat. he would've been confused by the cowboy act, if he wasn't preoccupied being shocked at the lack of hostility. blue looked delighted. “OF COURSE! IT WAS WONDERFUL!” she flinched, but her smile didn't waver. people usually flinched when a papyrus personality spoke, so he brushed that off.
his metaphorical heart got caught in his throat as blue bounded towards them, instinctively reaching out before stopping himself. maybe this would go okay… maybe.
“WHAT'S YOUR NAME, HUMAN?” she leaned away a bit, but again, her soft smile persisted. “Eh, I don't really have one. Call me whatever you want, cowboy.” her eyes flickered down to his bandana as she said ‘cowboy’- so that explained the whole western thing. as blue thought of a nickname, stretch couldn't help but do the same. ‘honey’ and ‘angel’ both came to mind, both words that he'd use to describe her voice.
“STARLIGHT SEEMS FITTING!” of course his brother would pick such a cool name.
remembering the time, he coughed awkwardly into his hand, trying to catch his attention. they both turned to him, and when he saw her face- so non-hostile, and comfortable in their presence, and so pretty… he had to look away to hide his orange skull. “we're gonna be late to training, bro.” blue frowned, clearly disappointed - and he could relate. he wasn't too upset though, for some reason, he felt like they'd see her again soon.
~
he didn't expect it to be
that
soon. he stared at the riveting patterns in the wooden table as he tried not to react to the information. despite not knowing the human, he was… a little excited, admittedly.
—-----
sans heard a scream nearby, and immediately shortcut to the sound. thankfully, the human was caught in a painless trap. thank the stars him and paps wouldn't have to be berated by the others for hurting a human.
staying out of sight, he slowly approached the prey, ready to scare the living daylights out of her- before he heard his brother approaching. wanting his brother to find her first, he quickly slipped behind a tree. “SANS, SANS! I CAUGHT SOMETHING!” papyrus announced, voice full of excitement. “WOWEE! A HUMAN!” sans figured she was too scared to even speak, frozen in place. It was always either that, or screaming and running when a human saw the brothers. it irritated him to no end just how much humans judged based on looks. his cool bro didn't deserve that kind of treatment.
“Hello!~” sans felt his whole body go cold.
that was unexpected.
and very,
very
suspicious.
“WOW! DESPITE BEING TRAPPED AND HELPLESS, YOU SEEM TO BE UNBOTHERED!” she only seemed to giggle in response. was she really not repulsed? or scared? humans were scared of papyrus on the street, so why wouldn't they be even more scared to be trapped by him?
“Well, there's no need to be scared when I've got a knight in shining armor right in front of me.”
she w i n k e d .
what the hell was going on.
before this human could manipulate his brother any further, he summoned a sharp bone and shot it through the rope, causing her to fall.
it was time to teach her a lesson for trying to lure
his
brother into a false sense of security.
papyrus’ admonishing fell on deaf ear holes as he stood next to the human.
“heh. you
dust
be pretty stupid if you're this calm.”
he waited for a scream.
he waited for the look of fear.
but instead, he got…
“...Your voice is hot.”
…
….
…..
…how is he supposed to help paps resist your charms, while trying to do the same?
“ya really are stupid, kid.”
~
he so badly wanted to hide in his room tonight, but that would mean leaving paps with her, and he wasn't about to let that happen. he would keep his brother safe.
—-----
“What's the problem?”
mutt raised a brow bone. he couldn't tell if this human was brave or stupid for stepping into a heated argument between two men, especially when one of those men is the head of the royal guard.
“HE WON'T SELL A COMIC TO ME.” the look of pure contempt and hatred you shot the cashier filled him with pride. she was clearly enraged by the injustice-
…now he was curious.

her soul became visible for a moment, a vibrant yellow. just like he thought.
black shot him a glare while the girl wasn't looking. only monsters can see a human's soul when it’s CHECKED.
“It ain't his fault, bud.” she tells his brother calmly. black looked even more enraged- “What comic is it anyways?” mutt could tell she was saying that to distract him from his anger, but there was also actual curiosity. there was a brief look of slight amusement on her face as he told her the comic, before her brows furrowed. “Hold on-” both brothers watched intently as she took out her phone and began typing. After a moment, she looks back up at Black. “My friend owns it if you want to borrow it.”
he was shocked. and he knew his brother was too. she'd really let a complete stranger borrow her comic book- a monster nonetheless.
so far, this girl has displayed a sense of either stupidity or bravery, a sense of justice and want for monsters to be treated fairly, genuine curiosity in his brothers interests, and trust for a complete stranger.
she was definitely interesting, to say the least…
he was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard her say “-I could give you my number.” he held back a laugh as his brother screamed- he definitely wasn't used to this. before he could offer to take her number instead, she was already writing down her address. black snatched it from her and shoved it into his hands- and stormed out of the comic shop. he of course followed, looking down at the note while he wal-
holy shit.
she lived really close.
he couldn't suppress the smile that came to his face.
~
he was definitely excited to see her again.
—-----
red jumped back in surprise when his brother suddenly crashed into someone. edge of course immediately started screaming at the person, and when he looked to see who it was- his breath got caught in his non-existent throat. she was fuckin’ gorgeous- that's for sure. pretty eyes to get lost in, plump lips, fluffy hair, and a nice set of tits. he felt his SOUL leap as his eyelights wandered her body- a lot of patches, spikes, and overall edgy style?
she was definitely his type.
and she would look great hangin’ off his arm.
his jaw dropped as he saw her grab his brothers hands gently and inspect them. she then reached out and pulled out a box of bandaids with stupid little childish cartoon cats on them.
edgy, adorable,
and
helping his brother?
he never thought he'd meet a real life angel.
before he could start thanking the heavens above, his brother suddenly stood up- and…
ran.
he immediately bursted with laughter- he never thought he'd see his brother get so flustered over a little human.
“Did… Did I offend him?” his laughter died down as he looked at her- absolutely adorable how worried she was. pretty voice, too.
“nah doll, ya just surprised him.”
he realizes that he now has her all alone- and can make his move. his eyes wander her body once again before taking a step closer, his smile growing. “I bet you're full of surprises, ain'tcha, sweetheart?” he purred, loving the way her face heated up. he took out one of his many pieces of paper with his number on it and put it in her hand, “don't be a stranger, sugar.” he winks, before walking off. for once, he actually cared whether or not a chick messaged him.
…he really hoped she would.
~
his laughter at his brother's embarrassment died down. resting his skull in his hand, he sighed.
his SOUL has never felt so fuzzy before…
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Blue couldn't decide on an outfit.
He really wanted to look good for Starlight.
“HOW ABOUT THIS, PAPY?” Blue asked his brother as he stepped out of his closet wearing a black suit with a blue bowtie.
Stretch gave a thumbs up, “looks good bro. you'll definitely impress her.”
“I'M NOT TRYING TO IMPRESS HER!!!” He stomped, “AND THIS IS CLEARLY WAY TOO MUCH!”
Despite bringing Stretch to help him choose an outfit, he completely ignored his opinions. Then again, he said all of them looked good, so he wasn't much help anyways.
“LOOKING GOOD, BLUE!” Papyrus complimented cheerily as he walked past his room, wearing a very fancy suit with a red tie. It even had a chest pocket with a handkerchief.
“...I SUPPOSE THE OUTFIT WORKS.” Blue huffs. He wasn't about to let Papyrus one-up him.
—----
Papyrus always dressed his best. After all, first impressions were everything! He didn't want to wear anything less than his Sunday best when meeting a potential new friend.
And it worked!
The spiky human wasn't afraid, and was in fact quite nice!
She even flirted with him!
And called him her…
Her…
“KNIGHT!!!” Papyrus couldn't help but squeal. He’s never felt so flattered! Every human has either been terrified or disgusted, but she wasn't! Quite the opposite, actually!
He had to look his absolute best tonight! Sure, second impressions weren't quite as important… but that didn't matter!
Smoothing down his fancy suit with his gloved hands, he smiled at himself in the mirror. It didn't last very long though.
He sighed, his hand brushing against his crooked red-stained teeth, before traveling up to his beady eyes. Thankfully, his glasses made them seem bigger, but still…
“WOWEE! ANOTHER SUIT! YOU LOOK ALMOST AS GOOD AS ME, OTHER ME!” Classic Papyrus commented as he looked through his door.
…Classic was also wearing a suit?
…
No, this wouldn't do.
—----
Black had his armor polished to a perfect shine.
He didn't do it for the human.
It was simply… dirty.
And he had to show that he was superior to her.
… Maybe he should polish his skull as well.

Edge didn't even want to attend dinner. He didn't want to see her. She acted incredibly disrespectful towards him.
Looking down at his hands, he traced one of the Hello Kitty bandages with his phalanges. She
pitied
him. She saw him as
weak.
He couldn't let that stand.
Quickly putting his gloves back on, he made his way downstairs. Unfortunately, the human was going to be helping Classic make dinner, so he would have to monitor them.
This was going to be torture.
And not the fun kind.
—----
What the hell were you going to wear?
You were just going to make ‘friendship spaghetti’-
whatever the fuck that meant-
with Papyrus, so you should probably dress casual.
Well, casual by your standards.
Slipping on an oversized black sweater with an anatomically correct heart graphic, your patch pants, old red combat boots, and a lot of accessories - you were looking pretty good.
You were kind of excited- after all, you never cook. One of your friend/roommates wants to be a chef, so it only made sense to have him be the house wif- er, chef.
Grabbing your keys, you get in your car and put Papyrus’s address into your GPS.
A five minute drive?
Damn, he lived really close.
After an incredibly short trip, you pull up to a very large house. He mentioned having a brother and cousins, but… even then, they wouldn't need this big of a house.
You step out of your car and approach the front door, hesitating before knocking on it. Except, you didn't knock. The door already swung open, Papyrus bending down slightly so you can clearly see him through the door frame. He was wearing a very nice suit, complete with a chest pocket and red handkerchief.
You suddenly felt very underdressed.
“WELCOME, POTENTIAL NEW FRIEND!” He moves aside, and you smile up at him as you walk inside. “SHE'S HERE?!” Another loud voice echoed through the house before two skeletons appeared before you. Wait, didn't you meet these two earlier today?
The shorter one wore a black suit with a blue bowtie-
oh yeah, his name was blue!
- and blue slacks with fancy dress shoes. The tall one had on a very expensive looking maroon sweater, silver glasses, tan pleated pants, and brown dress shoes. They both looked great.
“HELLO! IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN, STARLIGHT!” Blue said with his hands folded neatly behind his back. “YES, I'M SO GLAD WE CAN HANG OUT!” The tall one clasped his hands together with a large smile.
“Nice to see y'all too!” You replied before feeling Papyrus gently link elbows with you and lead you to the kitchen. “THERE IS NO TIME TO WASTE, HUMAN!” He announced, the other two skeletons right on your heels. Their kitchen was large, and incredibly clean- ignoring all of the burn marks and broken toaster.
In the kitchen was another familiar monster. He wore the same thing as earlier, his scowl deepening as the four of you entered. As soon as you made eye contact, he looked away.
Maybe he was shy.
“HUMAN, THIS IS EDGE!” He pointed at the shy one, before gesturing to Blue and the other one. “THIS IS BLUE, AND THIS IS-” “YOU CAN CALL ME WHATEVER YOU WANT, HUMAN!” The sweater-wearing one cut him off, looking a little nervous. You thought for a moment- what would you call him?
….
…..oh!
“How about Knight?” You asked, tilting your head with an awkward smile. He might not like the name. “Since- y’know- I called you that earlier-” “TH-THAT WORKS!” His face was a bright red, and he was fidgeting with his hands.
Papyrus raised a brow bone. “HAVE YOU TWO ALREADY MET?” “YES, SHE MET MY BROTHER AS WELL!” “ME AND PAPY MET HER TOO!” Knight and Blue responded, while Edge remained silent. You nodded to confirm, and Papyrus beamed. “WONDERFUL! MORE FRIENDS!”
“HURRY UP AND MAKE THE PASTA!” Edge snapped. You flinched, but it seemed like the others were used to it.
The next few moments happened in a blur. Too many cooks was definitely a thing…
Papyrus turned the heat two high, Blue tried adding non-edible glitter, Knight spilled the sauce, and Edge yelled the whole time. You found yourself constantly switching between giggling, panicking, and gently letting one of them down.
When you were all done, it looked pretty decent. Not very fancy, but that was fine. Pasta was pasta.
Papyrus ran upstairs to call everyone down for dinner while you, Blue, and Knight set the table.
The first one down was Sans, growling as he plopped into his chair. He shoots a look at Knight, who just looks confused.
“long
thyme
no see, angel.” A voice purrs in your ear, making you jump and spin towards them. Of course, it was Edge’s brother. He had a sly grin, his sharp gold tooth glinting in the light. You let out a light-hearted huff, smirking back up at him. “You missed me that much, eh?” You teased, his skull warming up. He rubs the back of his skull and chuckles lowly, his eyelights glancing at the floor. He opens his mouth to respond, but his words don't quite reach your ears- you're too distracted by the sudden weight on your shoulders. Looking up, you see the silent monster from the comic store smirking down at you.
“hey, darlin’.” His voice is low and smooth, but not nearly as gruff as Edge’s brother’s. “Oh, hey. I uh- never caught your name-” realizing you don't know Edge’s brother's name either, you turn back to him. He seems to be glaring holes into the skeleton from the comic shop. His eyelights flicker down to you, his smile returning- but more tense than before.
“need somethin’, dolly?”
“Um- yeah, I was going to ask you for your name.” You say shyly. He once again opens his mouth to respond, only to be cut off. “mutt.” The tall one says, gently taking your hand and lifting it to his face, pressing it to his teeth while remaining eye contact.
You could seriously pass out.
“yeah, whatever, buzz off.” Edge’s brother growled as he snaked a hand around your waist, pulling you away from Mutt- who just looked amused.
“the name’s red-” he winked, holding out a red rose for you -
where did that come from?
, “but ya can call me whatever ya want, angel.”
“SA- RED!!!” You yelped in surprise and Red immediately started sweating. Edge walked up from behind you and snatched the rose out of his hand. “I WORKED ON THAT FLOWER ARRANGEMENT FOR HOURS, YOU MONGREL!” He spun on his heel and very carefully placed it into a vase full of flowers, glared at Red one last time, and then walked away again.
Looking back at Red, his smile was incredibly nervous, his skull covered in red droplets. “heh, guess he didn't
lilac
that.” You bursted out laughing. The whole situation was funny- but that horrid little pun was the final straw. Red lit up, looking extremely proud of himself for making you cackle like that.
Your laughter died down just in time to see Mutt’s brother stomping downstairs, followed by the orange twink, a skeleton you've never seen before, and Papyrus.
“hey honey.” The orange one winked before taking a seat next to Blue.
Papyrus bounded up to you, dragging the unfamiliar skeleton behind him. “HUMAN, I'D LIKE YOU TO MEET MY BROTHER SANS!”
But, wasn't the one with a hole in his head named Sans?
You pointed to said skeleton with a curious look. “But he said his name was Sans?”
Silence and a couple crashes filled the room.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“...D-Did I do something wrong?” Your voice squeaks. New-Sans glares down not-Sans, who sinks into his seat with a strained smile. “i uh… i was just ripping’ your leg off, kid.” He says nervously. “yeah, don't take anything he says to heart. ” New-Sans gestures to the anatomical heart on your sweater. A small smile tugs at your lips before your brows furrow again. “So, if you're Sans-” you point to non-Sans, “-then who is he?”
“axe.”
“Ah. Cool.” You're not really sure what to say to that. Thankfully, you didn't have to, as Mutt’s brother spoke up. “CAN WE HURRY UP AND EAT ALREADY?!” Chuckling, you walked over to the table before pausing. What if everyone had designated seats? “COME SIT NEXT TO ME, BUTTERFLY!” Knight called out. Butterfly? Was he talking to you? Glancing over at him, his sockets were set on you, answering the unasked question. He was patting the seat next to him, on the other side of him was a scowling Axe. Butterfly was a really cute nickname, but where did he get that from? Before you could respond, another voice beckoned you. “OVER HERE STARLIGHT!” Blue waved you over, sitting between his brother and Axe. “LET HER SIT WHERE SHE WANTS!” An exasperated Edge proclaimed. Red, who sat next to him, immediately pushed Stretch out of the seat beside him and patted it with a smirk. “ANYWHERE BUT THERE!!!” Edge screeched in response as Stretch got up, glaring at Red. You could feel yourself start to sweat. You hated making decisions. Especially if it was going to hurt someone's feelings. Thankfully, Mutt made the choice for you, gently grabbing your arm and pulling you into… his……. lap………. You let out a small squeak, your face definitely a bright red. This was so embarrassing… To your surprise, he was actually quite comfortable. His bones weren't prodding you- except for his ribs a bit, but it wasn't too bad. He smelled like dog treats and smoke, oddly enough. Before he could wrap his arms around you, Knight jumped out of his chair and picked you up from under your arms, effortlessly lifting you into the air. “WORRY NOT, BUTTERFLY! THE GREAT PA- ER, YOUR KNIGHT IS HERE TO SAVE YOU!” He proclaimed proudly, making you giggle. “My savior!” You heard a couple huffs and grunts, but you weren't sure where they came from. Knight set you down next to him as he took his seat. Everyone started piling spaghetti onto their plates, except for Edge, Knight, and Axe. As you grabbed yourself a serving, you turned to Knight. “Butterfly, eh?” He blushed, averting his gaze and fiddling with the bottom of his maroon sweater. “W-WELL, YOU LOOKED LIKE A B-BUTTERFLY CAUGHT IN A BUTTERFLY NET THIS MORNING…” His voice faltered at the end. “That makes sense.” You nodded. “I CAN CALL YOU SOMETHING ELSE IF YOU WANT!” You snorted as you took a bite of your spaghetti, and then spoke. “Nah, I like it.” “THAT'S DISGUSTING!!!” A voice shrieked. Looking up, you saw it was Mutt’s brother, with a face of utter horror. You should probably ask what his name is. “What's your name?” You ask casually, spaghetti still stuffed in your mouth. He looked even more repulsed. “YOU DON'T DESERVE TO KNOW IT, YOU REPULSIVE PIG!” Eh, oh well. You shrugged and chewed your food, seemingly making him even more annoyed. “so, kid-” Sans began, catching your attention. “what do you do for a living?” Oh great, small talk. “A couple different things. I perform occasionally at bars and stuff, sell art, and work as a cashier.” A few of them stiffened when you mentioned the first job. “Like, I perform music. Calm down.” You chuckle, making them relax again. Although, you weren't sure why they seemed bothered... they better not be the type of guys to slut shame. “music?” Mutt asked, raising a brow bone. Did he really not know what music is? How does he not know this? Was there really no music underground? But, Stretch wasn't confused when he saw you playing and singing this morning... oh well. Might as well explain it for him. “Yeah, it's like- noise that sounds good-” Laughter erupted from the table, cutting off your explanation. “he wasn't asking what it was, angel!” Red cackled. You really thought he was asking what music was… oops. Taking it in stride, you laugh along. “i-i was askin’ what ya play.” Mutt choked out in between laughs. That made much more sense. “Oh, um- I play the guitar, and I'm learning the drums.” “WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY?!” Papyrus piped up from beside you. “Oh, just songs I like…” You smiled shyly. You suddenly felt something soft against your lips, and looked down to see a red handkerchief. Papyrus, who was holding said handkerchief, smiled innocently. “YOU HAD SAUCE ON YOUR MOUTH!” “R-Right-” —---- After awkwardly trying to navigate thirty different conversations over dinner, you were pretty tired- your social battery was really low. Grabbing your plate and standing up, you walk over to Papyrus and Stretch who were doing dishes. “Could I help?” Sure, you were exhausted, but you were still a good guest. “NO NEED, HUMAN! IT'S THE DUTY OF THE HOST!” “But-” “besides, you look like dishes your bedtime.” Stretch interjected, making Papyrus groan. “Is it that obvious?” You sigh as Stretch chuckled. “STARLIGHT! COME PLAY UNO WITH US!” Blue shouted from the living room where he and everyone except Edge sat. As much as you wanted to stay, you really couldn't. “I'm sorry, but I'm really tired…” You say with a sad smile. “HOW ABOUT A SLEEPOVER?” Knight suggested, making Blue gasp. “YES! WE COULD MAKE A FORT!” Their excitement makes this so much more difficult… “I'm sorry, I really am, but I have some things I need to do at home…” Blue and Knights faces looking like the sad SpongeBob meme made your soul clench with guilt. Red gave you puppy dog eyes, making you giggle despite it. “I have to get going. It was nice seeing you all today, and it was nice meeting you Sans.” You nod in his direction, receiving one back. “And thank you for having me over for dinner.” Before you can leave, Papyrus sprints over to you. “LET ME WALK YOU TO YOUR CAR!” Opening the door for you, he follows you outside as a chorus of goodbyes fades away. It was dark outside with a chill, making you shiver slightly despite your sweater. “I had a lot of fun, Papyrus.” You smiled up at him warmly. Even though a couple of his cousins were a bit rough around the edges, you genuinely had a really good time. Papyrus’s chest puffed out with pride, “I'M GLAD, I HAD FUN AS WELL! AND I CAN TELL EVERYONE ELSE DID TOO!” You didn't agree with that last part. Axe didn't say anything to you, Black found you revolting, and Edge only spoke about you with the others when he absolutely had to. But you didn't want to ruin his mood by bringing that up. As soon as you unlock your car, he swiftly steps in front of you and opens the door. You giggle and thank him before stepping inside. He waves enthusiastically as you drive off, and you try your best to do the same while keeping your eyes on the road.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
You sputter, shoving Nuke off of you.
Whenever you weren't awake by breakfast, she would take on the job of waking you up.
By licking your face.
“Eugh- Nuke!” You groan and wipe your face with your hand before spitting into your carpet. Taking Nuke’s subtle hint, you get up and trudge downstairs to feed her. As you grab the bag of kibble, you glance up at the clock. 7:00. None of your roommates would be awake by now, and you didn't have anything to do.
Booooriiiiing.
You sigh and check your phone, leaning against the kitchen counter while sounds of Nuke’s chomping fills the room. You had a couple of notifications, and…

Wait- who was Crooks? Was he talking about Knight? He was the only one who didn't give you his name, so that would make sense. You take a moment to type out a response.
You: I’d love to hang out soon!
Immediately, you received a response.
SpaghettiNoodle: GREAT! HOW ABOUT NOW? BLUE AND STRETCH WANT TO GET DONUTS FOR BREAKFAST, YOU CAN JOIN US!!
Aww, how sweet. You felt all warm and fuzzy at their excitement to spend more time with you. And you obviously can't turn them down. But, you would need time to get ready.

This time it took a couple seconds to get a response.
SpaghettiNoodle: THEY SAID THEY ARE FINE WITH WAITING! WE WILL COME PICK YOU UP AT EIGHT!
You quickly send him your address, and dash upstairs to get dressed.
—-----
SpaghettiNoodle: WE ARE HERE!!! NO PRESSURE!!!!!
You look over yourself in the mirror. Bacon earrings, egg sweater, patch pants, and yellow crocs.
Eh, it worked.
You grab your wallet, keys, and jacket before walking downstairs and opening the front door to see a red convertible with the top down. You held back a laugh- Papyrus and Stretch clearly wouldn't fit if the top was up.
Papyrus and Blue waved at you excitedly as you approached the car. “HOW ARE YOU, HUMAN?” Papyrus asked like the gentleman he is. “I'm doing good! Thanks for inviting me, guys.”
“eh, it was no
skin
off my-” “SIT HERE, STARLIGHT!” Blue cut his brother off quickly, patting the seat in between the two of them. You would have to climb over stretch, or ask him to get up to-
Oh, he slid over to the middle seat.
“PAPY!!!” Blue huffed, trying to shove him back to his spot. He didn't budge. “sorry bro, i’m too
tire
-d to move. I'm
convertible
where i am.” You couldn't help but laugh as Blue yelled insults at his brother and Papyrus groaned. Seeing how orange boy wasn't going to move, you just sat next to him.
“So where are we going?” You ask, trying to change the subject. “DONNET’S!” Papyrus responded as he started the car. At your confused expression, Stretch clarified. “she’s an old friend of mine, from the underground.”
“Your friend owns a restaurant??” You gasped, your voice thick with awe. “nah.” You furrow your brows again- how did she not own a restaurant if you guys were going to eat there? “she owns a bakery.”
“Ohhh.” That made sense.
—----
It was a quaint little building squished in between two other ones. Bricks painted a deep purple, white intricate trimmings, and a small window adorned it. Two little chairs and a table sat in front.
It was so cute!
And also, a small business! Hell yeah!
Excitedly entering with the guys right behind you, you were hit with a sweet aroma of pastries. Looking around, the interior was similar to the outside. There were a few patrons, all of which were monsters.
Made sense. Most humans didn't even get near monsters, unfortunately…
“Oh my! A human!~”
A nice voice pulled you from your thoughts. The source was a lilac spider monster. She was a little shorter than you with dark purple hair that ended a bit above her shoulders and two pigtails held up by wine-colored bows. A pair of square glasses sat on her face, wearing a white long-sleeved button up with a purple vest and matching wine-colored bow-tie around her neck. Despite being a spider, she was really pretty…
“you okay, honey?” Stretch nudges you with his elbow. Oh no, you were staring. “I- um- y-yeah-”
Real smooth.
“OH MY STARS, ARE YOU SCARED OF SPIDERS HUMAN???” Papyrus asked worriedly. All five of the spider's eyes widened, one hand covering her mouth.
“Are you scared of spiders, dearie?”...
and now you were panicking.
“N-No-! I just, I-I get nervous around pretty girls!” You blurted, smiling nervously at her. Her eyes grew even larger, her face turning a dark purple before smiling politely.
“Thank you dearie, you aren't too bad yourself, fuhuhu~”
You definitely had a goofy smile.
“AHEM!” Blue stomped over to the counter, “I WILL TAKE A STACK OF BLUEBERRY PANCAKES!”
…Cockblocker.
Donnet nodded and wrote down his order, before turning to you and smiling, her eyelids lowering and tilting her head.
Oh no… a hot chick is flirting with you…….
“And what would you-”
Stretch suddenly stepped in front of you. “i’ll take my usual-” he looked over his shoulder at you, “what about you?”
You glared up at him and crossed your arms. Why was he also cockblocking???
Jackass.
“that’s not on the menu, honey.”
Fuck, you said that out loud.
“... I'll take some waffles please.” You mumble.
“and a stack of waffles.”
“I WOULD LIKE TO ORDER TWO OMELETS, PLEASE!”
She nodded, and went into the kitchen. There goes your chance…
Sighing, you follow the boys over to a booth. Stretch and Blue sit on one side, while you and Papyrus sit across from them. Stretch smirked at you. “still
skull-
king?” You narrow your eyes at him. “Yeah, I totally could've gotten her number…”
“YOU ARE TOO GOOD FOR HER, STARLIGHT! SHE’S A CRIMINAL ANYWAYS!” Stretch shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
“...So?”
If skeletons had eyes, all three of the boys would have them bulging out of their skulls. “s-so-?”
You shrug. “Yeah. Not all crimes are bad. Besides, a hot chick is a hot chi-”
“I'm flattered dearie, fuhuhu~”
You whip your head around to see Donnet standing there, holding your plates. Your throat feels dry as you sink into your seat, staring down at the table. She sets down your waffles in front of you, and all you can manage is a small
“thank you-”
After she left, you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. Looking back up, you notice how uncomfortable Blue and Stretch look. Thankfully, Papyrus was happily eating one of his omelets. “...Are y'all okay?”
…maybe they were homophobic??
Stretch waves his hand dismissively and shrugs. “yeah, she just forgot creamer for my coffee.” He says, standing and walking back to the counter. You turn your attention to Blue. “JUST… A LITTLE TIRED IS ALL, STARLIGHT. I STAYED UP LATE LAST NIGHT TRAINING!” You nod, taking a bite of your waffles. “Training for what?”
“TO BECOME STRONGER, OF COURSE!” He declared proudly. “YES, IT IS IMPORTANT TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH, HUMAN!” Papyrus chimed in.
Stretch returned, sitting back down- and… not holding creamer. “... Where's your creamer?”
He shrugs, “they ran out.” Before you could ask any follow up questions, he picks up one of his donuts, “ever had a spider donut before?” It had purple icing, with white spider-web decorative icing. You tilt your head, “What makes it different from a normal donut?” His grin turns sly as he holds it out for you. Hesitating for a moment, you take it from him and bite.
The texture was… odd.
….
Yeah, no, this was not a texture you liked.
Reflexively you spit it out onto the floor. Stretch looks surprised, while Blue looks mortified. “HUMAN! DO YOU NOT KNOW YOUR MANNERS?!”
“S-Sorry, I have texture issues-” Papyrus cut you off, putting a hand on your shoulder reassuringly. “IT'S OKAY, HUMAN! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF!” You snorted. It was sweet.
“huh, most humans like ‘em.”
You shrug, “Well, most humans aren't autistic.”
Before you can stand up to grab napkins and clean up your mess, you see a couple tiny spiders already working together to wipe it up. Now you felt even worse.
“Th-thanks…”
You sigh, grabbing your napkin and wiping your mouth. As you set it back down, something catches your eye. You un-crumble it- and to your surprise and glee…
It's a phone number in nice handwriting with a little drawing of a spider.
Score!
