Walking through the woods Ash had to say the camp was a blast, not only he had learned a lot about pokemon but he also had a lot of fun playing with them. The only bad thing was that Gary was also present, he and his friends were always raising problems.
Now he was looking for a Poliwag that had escaped into the forest. Then he saw her, scared on the ground and crying. He somewhat remembered the strange girl that had come to the camp but mostly remained on her own, he had paid no mind to her before but now he couldn’t leave her to herself, she looked so scared!
Calling to her both established eye contact and he could help but to feel funny, gone was the stray thought of getting back the missing Poliwag, his priority was now the girl in front of him, having her cry now felt like a crime against nature.
Why was his heart beating so fast again?
It didn’t matter, after calming down the girl he asked her, her name to which responded it was Serena. He then tried to help her stand up only to discover she had twisted her uncle. Wasting no time, he got a piece of cloth -
He didn’t remember he had it in the first place but whatever
- covered her uncle and then carried her bridal style back to the lab, running all the way back.
As soon as he appeared with Serena in his arms Professor Oak, his mom and Serena’s mom immediately made him go inside the lab for the professor to check Serena’s injury while he explained to the three adults what had happened in the forest with Serena telling what had happened with her after he was done.
After making sure there was nothing serious and giving green light to Serena going back home, both of their moms started to go to their respective homes. He didn’t like the idea of separating from his new friend yet, they had not even talked properly with each other!
And apparently Serena had the same idea as she asked her mom if he and his mom could come to where they were staying. While Serena’s mom wasn’t sure -

- his and Serena’s begging finally wore down his own mom who proposed for the four to go to their home for the rest of the day. And he had to say, those few hours were the best of the day, far better than the camp itself too, just being able to talk with Serena, learn what she liked, what she disliked and everything, it was amazing!
Well, until Serena and her mom had to go back to where they were staying , they had to sleep after all and their moms had shot down a sleepover idea he had had. Both he and Serena hugged each other before promising to meet tomorrow in the camp before saying goodbye.
The next day for Ash was a rush, the activities were interesting including riding some pokemon the Professor had gotten from a nearby ranch, the best part however remained Serena, who not only showed everyone how to really ride a pokemon really well but also taught him some tricks on how to better ride pokemon!
No matter the activity, if it could be done in pairs or in groups, he and Serena would always team up and whenever they were having some free time the two would talk or pass time together.
However, like all good things, the camp came to an end and Serena and her mom had to go back home to Kalos. After saying each other their goodbyes both himself and Serena exchanged home directions and telephone numbers to stay in contact before giving each other a promise.
“Ash, you promise me that we will travel together when we become trainers?” - ask Serena nervous
“Of course! We will be pokemon masters together!” - he responds immediately.
And with that done Serena and her mom Grace started their travel back home.
Little did Ash know that the same moment he and Serena made that promise not only the still knocked out Arceus felt a shiver go through his back but several other girls felt as if someone had beat them all on something and most important of all, a certain lake trio started to make bets.
