Everything was going fine until Peter made the mistake of going on Instagram.It was spring break and, aside from his Spider-Man duties, he finally had some free time, which he was excited about. With school and everything, he typically didn't have much time to hang out with friends, so he had been hoping to finally get some more socializing time in now that they were on break.When he went onto Instagram, it didn't take him long to see that Flash had thrown a party. Based on the time markers of some of the stories the boy had posted, it was probably still in progress as well.Peter didn't care... Until he noticed that everyone else from the academic team was there.Even MJ.Even Ned.Peter quickly swiped over to his messages and searched the A-Team group chat up and down for any sign of a group invite. No dice.Flash simply hadn't invited him.He shouldn't have been surprised. It's not like he and Flash were particularly close, after all...But, he'd invited Ned and MJ.To add onto the hurt and rejection that Peter was already feeling, he soon realized that Ned and MJ had also not mentioned anything.Ned's silence was easy to write off as forgetfulness or just not wanting him to feel bad, but MJ was his girlfriend.Why hadn't she just invited him? It's not like she'd ever had much respect for Flash anyway. Hell, why had she agreed to go to a party that her boyfriend who was also on the A-Team had been excluded from in the first place?Peter shook away that thought. He didn't wanna be the bitter nerd who couldn't handle being excluded from something. Beyond that, he didn't wanna be the guy who got mad at his girlfriend for having fun without him. He didn't own her, and the last thing he would ever want to do is make her feel bad for having friends.So, he swallowed his pride, put his phone into sleep mode, and promptly broke down crying, vowing not to complain about the ordeal to anyone.
