Date Night in the Fire

Entire Work

Work Text

It was date night, and Aang was nervous.Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Suki were staying in the Fire Nation palace to meet with Zuko regarding development plans for Republic City. Sokka had only recently came up with the name, and they were all buzzing with the potential of what this city could be.The evening was bright with stars, the sky a swirly mixture of orange sunset fading into the blue hues of the oncoming night. It was beautiful. The streets were alive for the Fire Festival, the once-a-year event that even Zuko seemed to speak highly of. When Zuko told them about it the day before, Katara grabbed Aang's hand and looked up at him, her eyes excited and pleading; of course, Aang promised her that he would take her, just the two of them. How could he say no, especially with those eyes? He almost found it amusing, the power she held over him. He was the Avatar, the deity of the earth, yet a simple glance from Katara and he was falling to his knees. The meeting had just been adjourned, the Gaang humming with excitement for the future."Man, can you guys imagine what this could be, a city of people from all different types of nations? This has got to be the coolest thing we've done yet," Sokka beamed, clearly still running on the high of being responsible for the naming."Sokka, we literally saved the world," Katara reminded, her arms crossed on her chest."Yeah, yeah. That's old news. This, is the future..." Sokka swept his arms wide, a vision of buildings as far as the eye can see, full of people and shops and homes. For a second, he imagined himself as king of this new expanse."It is pretty exciting. It gives us a lot to look forward to," Suki chimed in, grinning at Sokka, fully envisioning his imaginations (delusions?).Zuko shook his head, but tried to keep an even tone. "You guys clearly have no idea how hard it will be to develop a city, let alone run it. I don't mean to dampen your mood, but it's not all fun and games. There's real people you have to-""Zuko, we get it, you're a leader of a nation, blah blah, Fire Lord stuff. Come on, this is going to be so cool!" Sokka squealed, Suki and Katara lovingly shaking their heads at his reaction.Aang smiled at Sokka. "Zuko is right, you know. There's going to be a lot of responsibility for us. We have a lot of work to do to make this a city for everyone." Zuko gave a short nod. "But, Zuko, let us be excited for now. We're changing the world, again! I think we deserve to be hopeful about it.Zuko slightly rolled his eyes, but gave in. "Alright, I get it. Thanks for coming today, guys. I'm heading to Mai's for dinner. Let the royal guard know if you need anything before bed. You should have plenty of food and towels in your rooms, I made sure they stocked up."The crew said goodbye to Zuko, and Katara started a conversation with Sokka and Suki. While they spoke, Aang walked up to Zuko."Hey, wait, actually, I do need help with something." Aang asked, Zuko raising an eyebrow."Sure, Aang. What is it?"Aang attempted a lower voice. "I'm taking Katara to the Fire Festival tonight. Can you help us with disguises? We just want to be normal. Any tips of what to show her? I want to make sure that the night is perfect."Katara glanced up at Aang and Zuko talking, hiding her smile as Aang failed to lower his voice despite acting secretive about his conversation. She sometimes wondered if Aang remembered that he had airbender lungs.Zuko noticed Katara's gaze and smiled at Aang. He put his arm on Aang's shoulder and led him away from the group, out of earshot. At least Zuko remembered Aang's lungs. "I've got you, no problem. I'll have an assistant deliver some clothes. As for where to take her, try Lin's. They have the best dumplings in the city, and the balcony looks down onto the festival. They even have vegetarian dishes. They also serve the best wine, if it's that kind of date. You should try a few of their different varieties."Aang laughed nervously. Him and Katara have only ever had one glass of wine at a time during the rare fancy occasion where it was served to them. They never really had more than that, but Aang felt excited at what it might feel like to have two instead of one."Thanks for the tips, Zuko. Um, we've never tried more than a glass. Is that a bad idea?" Aang would normally feel embarrassed asking this sort of question, but he figured he was doing it for Katara's sake. He just wanted her to have a fun night.Zuko readjusted his posture. He was shocked for a moment before remembering that alcohol was more common in fire nation and earth kingdom cultures, less so in water tribes, and especially not with air nomads. "Maybe just stick to two glasses each. You'll be fine. Just don't be dumb.""Got it. No dumbness. Thank you, your highness," Aang bowed."Don't call me that." Zuko snarled as he walked towards his assistants in the distance to direct them in finding suitable disguises for the Avatar and his master.Aang turned back to his friends, grabbing Katara's waist. Sokka's eyes immediately darted to his grip, causing Aang to soften his fingers. "So, what are you guys doing tonight?" he asked Sokka and Suki."I promised to take Suki to a sushi place. One of the guard members recommended Yu Tong's, so we'll probably check it out. Are you guys staying here?""Aang's taking me to the Fire Festival. I really want to see the city life of the palace," Katara beamed, locking eyes with Aang. He smiled back."Hey, we might end up there after. It sounds like a lot of fun," Suki matched Katara's energy, both of them looking at each other and giggling at their excitement for the night. Aang and Sokka exchanged a knowing glance at each other."Welp, let's go, Suki. We still have to get ready, and the sun is almost down."The group said their goodbyes as they walked their separate ways to their apartments. As Aang and Katara approached their doorstep, Aang was surprised to already see a bundle of clothes placed on the mat."What's this?" Katara asked, picking up the folded pile of clothes with a twine knot holding them together.Aang shrugged. "If I'm taking you on a date, I want it to be enjoyable. I figured it would be more fun if we weren't stopped every 5 seconds, so I asked Zuko for some help."Katara unraveled the bundle as Aang led their way into the apartment. With a flick of his fingers, he lit the candles in the room. Closing the door behind them, Katara held up a stunning deep red fire nation dress made of silk and gold trim. She admired the texture of the embroidery, her eyes wide. Aang felt his heart pick up as he imagined her curves filling out the fabric. It was a gorgeous dress."Aang, it's beautiful. This was a great idea. Look, there's even a hat for you," she held up Aang's outfit, a fire nation form-fitting kimono top with sleeves that extended past the wrists. The cap was simple with a very short brim. Aang was amazed at Zuko's attention to detail, and smiled at how his trimming matched Katara's. He felt a tinge of pride that strangers would know they were a couple."If it doesn't fit, I'll go ask for a replacement, just let me know-" Aang could barely finish his sentence when Katara began undressing, pulling her water tribe dress over her head. Aang deeply blushed and turned to the side to offer some privacy, his head rushing with the brief image of Katara's skin that disappeared under her wraps.Katara giggled at his reaction. "Aang, it's fine. We've undressed in front of each other a million times. I just really want to try it on!"Aang could feel his cheeks flush red. She was right, he had seen her in just her wraps countless times. They went swimming together all of the time in wraps just like these. He blinked at her innocence, a stark contrast to his thoughts which were entirely focused on the motion of her pulling her dress over her head and exposing her skin.He was only able to replay this thought a few times before Katara interjected. "How do I look?"Aang turned to look at his girlfriend. She was breathtaking. The V on her neck dipped low enough for him to see the tops of her chest bindings, the silk fabric hugging the cinch of her waist and ending at her knees. Katara always looked so good in red. Aang tugged on his collar."I still need to fix my hair and tie the dress better, but isn't it so pretty?" Katara swirled in circles, looking at her figure in the mirror.Aang nearly drooled. "Yeah, you are," he felt mesmerized. Katara giggled and gave him a peck."Okay, give me 20 minutes to get ready. I can't wait to see how you look in that Kimono," Katara winked as she hurried into the bathroom. She looked into the mirror and let her hair loose, brushing it with a smoothing conditioner before taking a small amount to put in a bun on her head. The rest of her hair flowed over her shoulder in delicate waves. She smiled at her reflection; her image reminded her of the last time they went undercover in the fire nation, although she looked much more grown up now. She looked down at her chest bindings, and felt like the white wasn't matching well with her dress. She untied the dress to stand only in her bindings as she unwound the top inch or two. This caused her to be much more exposed, and she felt her heart flutter with how Aang might react to this. She then decided to swap out her lower wraps for some panties she bought in a fire nation boutique the other day. They were deep red and lacy up the sides, a small bow on the top at the center. On the back, there was a laced up pattern on the top, the entire garment framing her butt nicely. He's going to freak out, she thought; Aang had never seen her in something like this before. Tying her dress back, the V now showed her cleavage with the lack of bindings in the way. She put her mother's necklace in the drawer and took off her socks, sliding her feet into some flats. His heart racing, Aang quickly looked over a map to find Lin's while Katara was getting ready. Once he found it, he pulled the red kimono top over his shoulders and tied the side. Zuko had included some slacks and shoes, too. He slipped the cap over his head. He didn't usually enjoy covering his arrow, but he didn't mind tonight. It was nice to feel normal every now and then. He looked in the mirror, raising his eyebrows, impressed. Zuko knew how to put an outfit together. He was straightening his collar when Katara walked in the room. His hands dropped to his sides. "Katara, I- wow. Katara, you look... wow." Katara's hands were nervously fidgeting together in front of her, blushing at his stammering. She watched as his eyes followed the V of her dress before darting back to meet her eyes, afraid of getting caught. "Your...""Yeah, I know, I thought the white bindings didn't look good with the red. Is it... too much?" She suddenly felt self conscious."No! No, not at all, no you look, it looks great. No." Aang couldn't seem to form a coherent sentence, and Katara giggled, loving the affect she had on him. Aang felt his blood rush to his head, and to other places, as he allowed himself to glance at the curve of her chest again. He felt a lump in his throat."You look really good, too, Aang. That top fits you perfectly." She reveled in how handsome he was. Seeing him in common clothing was a nice change from his airbender attire, although she loved how that fit him, too. "I feel a little nervous being with someone so attractive." She meant it. He was tall and muscular under the kimono, his gray eyes beaming with his striking features.Aang laughed and held out his arm. "Shall we?"_____________________________________The streets were already alive. Fire nation citizens of all ages filled the walkways, many of them couples, holding hands. Aang stole this idea and grabbed Katara's hand tightly, both of them enamored by the busy commotion. It was fully night now, the dark sky a contrast from the different colored string lights that lined the roads. There were tables full of different activities like jewelry making or knife sharpening, street vendors selling all sorts of items. They could hear the sounds of tsungi horns echo through the street.Katara stopped at a table that sold necklaces. "Isn't this one beautiful, Aang? Look, it's a dragon." Aang followed her gaze to a gold necklace with a small dragon pendant. The woman running the table noticed them admiring it. "Hello, young lady. Would you like to try it on?"Katara sheepishly put the necklace down. "No, that's alright, I was just looking. It's a really nice necklace."Aang pulled out a pouch. "How much?" he asked the woman."15 ban." She said quickly, knowing a boyfriend on a date when she sees one.Katara whispered to him. "Aang, really, you don't have to–""She'll take it." He dropped the coins into the woman's hands and bowed. "Flameo, ma'am." The shopkeeper raised an eyebrow and accepted the coins.Katara blushed but couldn't help her smile as they walked a few feet away and stopped, Aang stepping behind her. He put his hands on her shoulders, his fingers lingering for a moment before taking hold of her hair and brushing it to the side. Katara shivered at the feeling of his touch on her neck. He wrapped the necklace around her and put the clasp together, putting her hair back where he found it. She turned to face him."Thank you. You really didn't have to.""Yes, I did. It looks way too good on you to pass up. And, it matches your dress." He leaned in to kiss her, and suddenly the noise of the crowd fell silent as they felt like the only two people in the road.He took her hand and they continued their walk through the crowd. Every few feet, Aang watched as a random man or woman would linger their gaze on Katara. He grinned to himself. He was holding hands with the prettiest girl at the festival."Ooh, street food vendors! I'm starving," Katara led Aang over to a large booth full of a hundred different fire nation snacks. They all looked delicious, but Aang had plans."Actually, I had plans to take you to dinner. You might want to save your appetite."Katara met his eyes. "Really? Where are we going?" A few of the snacks caught her eye, but the idea of dinner sounded much more enticing."We're not that far, actually. Maybe we can get one of those matcha desserts on the way out?"Katara squeezed his hand. "Sounds perfect."As Aang led the way to Lin's, they both scanned the streets in awe. It felt really nice to not be stopped and asked for an autograph or to show off an airbending trick, as much as Aang secretly enjoyed showing off. They took turns pointing out things they noticed, whether it were special outfits, a neat decoration, or an interesting booth selling scrolls. Both of them would catch each other staring at different parts of their bodies, only to earn a mocking glance from being caught. Finally, Aang stopped them in front of their destination."Lin's," Katara read. The restaurant was unbelievable: twisting wood creating arches that stretched up three stories high. It was rare to see this much wood in the fire nation, for obvious reasons.Aang walked up to the hostess. "Hi there, ma'am. Could we please have a table for two?"The hostess looked up at Aang. "Do you have a reservation?"Aang felt his stomach drop. "Uh, well, no. Do we need one?""I apologize, sir. We require a reservation during the Fire Festival."Aang looked up into the restaurant, noticing several empty tables."I'm sorry, I didn't know that. Is it possible to make an exception?"Katara did her best to look kind and innocent, hoping Aang's plans wouldn't fall through. The hostess nervously looked at Katara before shaking her head."Unfortunately, that is our policy for today. I wish I could help, sir."Aang made eye contact with Katara, panic settling in his stomach. He wanted this night to be perfect for her. He then leaned into the hostess stand and whispered something to her, Katara's face dropping with concern. He started to lift up his sleeve."Aang, it's okay, let's just go–"The hostess quietly gasped. "Right this way, Avatar."Katara's jaw dropped slightly. "You didn't," she whispered, barely having time to react before he grabbed her hand and apologetically shot her a wide grin. They followed the hostess to the third floor, placing them at a table overlooking the intersection below. Katara gasped as she took in the soft glow of the lanterns strung above their heads and the smell of jasmine emanating from the plants all around them. Their table had candles, flowers, and tea already prepared. It looked like a fairy tale. Below them, the festival raged on. Aang pulled out Katara's chair for her as she blushed and thanked him."I sincerely apologize for the difficulties, Avatar Aang," the hostess apologized, bowing."Please, no, it's really okay. Um, would it be okay if you kept that a secret? I'm taking Master Katara here on a date, and we're trying our best to have a normal night."The hostess smiled, understanding. "Of course. Please let me know if you need anything at all. We hope you enjoy your night at Lin's." Aang grinned and asked her to accept three gold coins, the hostess bowing before walking away.Katara waited until she was out of earshot to shoot Aang a dirty look. "Really? The Avatar card?""Hey, I rarely play it. Let me use it to my advantage every now and then." He smugly grinned at her as she rolled her eyes, secretly impressed at his ability to win anybody over. Still, she felt bad for breaking the restaurant's rules. "Don't worry," he followed up, as if he could read her mind. "You know I'll tip them extra. They were very kind to accommodate us.""Yes, they were," her speech trailed off as she gazed up at the lanterns. Aang followed her line of sight."Wow, this place is great. It's nice to see some nature in such an industrial town." Aang smiled as he took in the surroundings, watching the crowd go by below them. He poured Katara a cup of tea as she scanned the menu on the table."They're known for their dumplings," Aang suggested.Katara raised an eyebrow. "You seem to know a lot about this place. How did you find it?""Oh, a guy has his ways," Aang sighed, stretching his arms by his head."You mean Zuko told you.""Yeah, Zuko told me."The waitress hurriedly walked up to their table, holding a bottle and two small cups. The intensity behind her walk caused Aang and Katara to share a look; they knew the hostess probably told the entire staff that the Avatar was here. "Good evening, my name is Jiang and I'll be serving you tonight. We are so glad you could join us for a beautiful night of the Fire Festival. Might I interest you in some sake to begin?"Katara's eyes widened, glancing at Aang for approval. Aang tried to interpret her expression and accepted, just in case. "Sure, thank you so much."They both watched as Jiang filled the two cups. "We are known for our many varieties of sake and wine. If you open the paper at the end of the table, you can see all of the selections we offer. Please do not hesitate to make a request." Aang and Katara looked to the end of the table to see what she was referencing."Would you like to get started with a small plate, maybe something to share? We are also known for our dumplings," Jiang continued, Aang shooting a wink to Katara. She rolled her eyes and shook her head, but couldn't contain her smile. She wouldn't let him know it right away, but his smugness was extremely attractive. It's something he never seemed to grow out of, and it was nice to see him so confident when he usually had the weight of the world on his shoulders.Aang pointed to the menu. "Would it be possible to order a mix of the pork and vegetable dumplings? They sound great.""Of course. I will be right back with those." Jiang grabbed the bottle and walked back inside.Katara stared at the sake. "I've only tried sake once. Are you going to try it?""I wouldn't mind, but only if you'd like to. We can send it back if you don't want to, that's okay with me. Whatever you want," Aang rambled, trying to make sure she was comfortable. He hoped he didn't overstep."No, I'd love to. I really liked it last time I tried it." Katara grabbed the cup and brought it to her lips, Aang watching intently for her reaction. Her eyes widened as she hummed. "Mmm, it's great! It tastes like melon and roses. Try it."Aang followed suit, tasting the liquid and savoring the flavors. "It's not bad. I don't think I've ever had it before." He sipped again, this time noticing the strong sting of alcohol. His heart fluttered. It was exciting to try something new with her. They both quickly finished their cups, making comments back and forth about the different tastes they experienced. Secretly, they were talking to distract themselves from the nervousness of finishing their cups.Aang reached for the paper at the end of the table, handing it to Katara. "Do you want to see what else they have?"Katara slowly accepted the wine menu, darting her eyes up to him in surprise. "I've never had more than one drink before," She looked down at the selections. "Wow, but these sound amazing. This one has notes of berries and vanilla. I love vanilla.""Do you want to try it? I love berries."They shared a look, excitement evident on both of their faces. Katara nodded.Jiang returned with their dumplings, the vegetable ones marked with a small green square of cabbage on the outside of the dough."These look so good, thank you, Jiang. Is it alright if we try a glass of this wine? The one with berries and vanilla."Jiang nodded and set down metal chopsticks. "Not a problem, that is a great choice. I am sure that you both will enjoy it. I will get that right away before getting your entrée orders."The dumplings lived up to their reputation. They both groaned at the flavor, quickly finishing them all before sharing a single word. They both laughed in satisfaction as they set their chopsticks down."Good call on the dumplings, Aang. This place is amazing," she reached for his hand on the table, him blushing in response. "You make a great date, Avatar,"Aang met her eyes and grinned. "I love when you call me that."Katara laughed. "Well, that's what you are. We have a pretty good view from up here. Look at all of those people. I wonder what it must have been like to grow up like this."Aang squeezed Katara's hand, a soft reminder. "They only resumed the festival recently."Katara's face fell. "Oh, yeah." The fire nation cancelled the festival during the last few years of the war due to the mainland wanting to focus on order. Most men were deployed during that time, leaving the women to stay home with the children. It was hardly any atmosphere for a celebration. When Zuko became Fire Lord, he made sure they planned to resume it once again."But, look," Aang nodded his head towards the crowd. "Look at all of the families here now." There were fathers holding their children on their shoulders as they bounced them to the music, mothers pushing babies as they giggled with their loved ones. Families didn't need to be separated anymore. It was Katara who, just a mile or so away, defeated "the Fire Lord-to-be" 5 years ago. It was both Katara and Aang who helped these families reunite.Aang thought of all of this and grinned, noticing a tear developing in her eye. "I'm honored to share this night with you, Katara."His words made Katara's tear delicately fall down her cheek, Aang reaching out to hold it with a bent index finger. Katara smiled at him, full of emotion and love, not just for Aang but for them together."I don't think you're supposed to make women cry on dates," Aang drew a laugh out of Katara, her head falling back as she reached for her tea to coat her throat.Jiang returned with two large glasses and a bottle of rose-colored wine. She poured a small amount into each glass. "Go ahead, give it a taste and see if it is to your liking."Aang and Katara raised their eyebrows up and down at each other before reaching for their glasses and sipping. They both looked up at each other in shock after tasting the deep vanilla and sweet berry flavor. It wasn't too sweet or too bitter, and it tasted just light enough to not burn at the touch. "Wow," Katara lightly smacked her lips. "I love that so much. Don't you, Aang?""This is the one, Jiang, thank you!" He handed his glass back and Katara followed. Jiang gave a heavy pour to each of their glasses. Katara suddenly felt an exciting shift in emotion as she ran her thumb along the condensation of the glass."I'm glad you enjoy it, that is one of the favorite picks here at Lin's. Would you like to place an order now, or perhaps I can come by later?""Honestly, we didn't even look at the menu. The festival has been pretty distracting," Katara responded, all three of them glancing down into the crowd.Jiang grinned. "Yes, it is quite a sight, isn't it? Please, do not feel rushed. I will return soon, enjoy your wine." She took the empty dumpling plates and returned inside of the restaurant. Katara wasted no time with trying another sip."I like this more than the sake," Aang mused, taking a big gulp all at once."Aang, I think you're supposed to sip it slowly or something," Katara laughed, although it was so delicious that she could have done the same. Before he could respond, Katara took a big gulp as well. Aang let out a bellowing laugh."See? It's too good not to," he responded, both of their glasses already halfway empty. Katara began to feel like the tops of her skin were hot, like when Aang would firebend between the blankets during cold winter nights. She would always chide him for nearly setting the sheets on fire, and Aang would chuckle and tell her he has more control than she thinks he does. She would roll her eyes, knowing that Aang certainly doesn't display self-control in other areas, despite him claiming to be an expert in self-discipline. Katara would always test that theory; she would pull him in by his shirt for a kiss and wrap her leg around his waist, his breath immediately disappearing and his hands desperately pushing her shirt up. That theory would always be disproven."What are you thinking about?" Aang broke Katara away from her daydream and she felt her cheeks grow warm with blush."Nothing, just thinking about the festival," She responded unconvincingly. Maybe he would think her blushing was from the wine.Aang knew it wasn't the wine. He had seen that face many times before. He gave her a look so she knew that he knew, and then let it slide."What would you like to eat, my love," he asked as he handed her a menu. They both read it together, commenting on the various courses being offered, sipping their glasses."Ooo, maybe ramen? Or no, maybe roasted salmon. Although, the curry looks yummy." Katara felt her mouth water as she read through the menu. Aang felt his mouth water as he stared at Katara."The ramen is vegetarian, so I'll probably do that," he mumbled, distracted by the way she pursed her lips together as she read through the options. Aang had felt that warm feeling too, although it didn't stand out to him as much since he was a firebender. What did stand out, however, was the rush of euphoria he felt as she moved her hair away from her shoulders, exposing the skin going down her chest, her new necklace sitting directly above her cleavage. The alcohol combined with his usual pining for Katara felt overwhelmingly pleasant. He looked up at the lanterns and back at his girlfriend as he finished his glass."I think I'll get the ramen, too. That's a great pick.""You're so beautiful."Katara brought her hand to her mouth as she laughed at Aang's impulsivity, surely brought on by liquid courage. Aang curled his lips up into a sheepish grin. Her heart raced with how excited she felt. She finished the last sip in her glass to match."Which one do we get next?" Katara asked, already grabbing the wine menu.Aang held his breath for a moment, thinking about Zuko's words: Maybe just stick to two, you'll be fine. Just don't be dumb. Sitting here with Katara, holding her hand as she scanned the wine menu, feeling warm and happy and excited definitely didn't feel dumb to him. Sokka and Suki would have 4 glasses or more sometimes, and they would be fine. Zuko did originally say that they should try a few. Maybe the sake didn't count as a first drink? Maybe that was just a sample?Aang saw Jiang walking back to their table, and by then, he made up his mind. Jiang gave her now-familiar smile, grabbing the empty glasses. "Would you like to try another? I recommend a red blend this time.""Absolutely," Aang responded.Katara started a discussion with Jiang regarding which red blend to choose. Aang zoned out as he stared at the curve of Katara's neck as she spoke to Jiang. Her skin was glowing and looked soft. He thought about how she looked when she pulled her dress over her head earlier. He wanted to touch his lips to her neck to see how it felt, but what he really wanted was to sink his teeth–"Aang? I asked if you want the one from the earth kingdom," Katara said gently, snapping Aang back into reality."Yes, that's exactly the one I was thinking of," he responded. Katara rolled her eyes; Aang had no idea which one she was referring to."We'd both like to get the ramen, too. Thanks, Jiang." Katara handed the menus over as Jiang went to grab the red blend.Katara folded her arms over the table and smirked. "What were you thinking about?"Aang chuckled and put his hands up. "Okay, okay. Touché. Listen, you'll find out later.""Is that so?" Katara raised her eyebrows. "Maybe I'd like to know now, though?"Aang rested his elbows on the table, his hands clasped together in front of his mouth. He slowly raked his eyes from the corner of the table, over her cup of tea, then upwards over her body until he met her eyes. Katara didn't breathe."That's probably a bad idea," he warned, his voice attempting to be firm. Katara wasn't phased."You're still thinking about me undressing in front of you earlier," she accused, Aang letting out a sigh as he closed his eyes. Of course, she would know. She always knew. The past 6 years they had spent together caused them to understand each other inside and out. Sometimes, it felt like they shared a brain. Most of the time, they knew exactly what the other was thinking.Katara grinned with her accuracy. "I wasn't trying to get that reaction out of you, although it's sweet that you're still thinking about it."Aang groaned with being caught. "Can't you ever be wrong?""No," she said sweetly."Well, I was thinking about more than just that, but that's all I'm saying for now. You know too much," he responded playfully, eliciting a laugh from Katara. They both started to feel the momentum of the alcohol, their cheeks rosy and muscles loosening. When Jiang returned with the next drink, the couple eagerly took a few sips, more confident this time around. This one tasted full and buttery, with small hints of cherry. With each sip they drew circles on each other's hands, talking about the meeting from earlier and how excited Sokka was."When dad left for the war, Sokka became so serious. I always wondered if his silliness was gone forever. He lightened up a little during our travels, but I've never seen him so happy as he is now. I'm so glad you wanted to ride the elephant koi, Aang. I love Suki so much. She's such a great person, but she also brought my brother back to me." Katara watched the crowd as she spoke, reminiscing on her childhood."I agree," he looked down on the crowd as well. "I've only known him for 6 years, but this is the happiest he's been. I'm so glad you're both in my life." Katara looked up and leaned across the table for a quick kiss. He continued, "Although, you didn't seem too happy about Kyoshi Island at the time. Someone was jealous."Katara scoffed. "You were showboating," she grumbled, crossing her arms and taking a sip of wine. She involuntarily thought about how he did pushups with his breath to show off to that group of girls. Aang has been incredibly strong ever since she met him.Aang grinned and leaned back. "You were jealous. And you barely knew me,""Oh, don't act like you weren't trying to impress a girl who you also barely knew by jumping on the back of a giant fish."Aang flashed back to Katara's excited face as he rode the elephant koi. "You were impressed."Katara inhaled as if she was about to respond, but took another sip as she realized she had no response. Aang giggled at his win.Jiang brought over a large bowl of ramen. "Since you both ordered ramen, our chef made it in to one large bowl to share. Is that alright?"Aang smiled. It would give him a chance to lean in closer to Katara. "Yes, of course."They started to dig in to the steaming bowl, filled with noodles, onion, egg, and vegetables. It was incredible. They both made satisfying noises as they reached in to sip the broth. Aang stole a kiss from Katara's nose, her giggling in return. Between bites, they finished their glasses of wine. It wasn't until the bowl was nearly empty that they both realized that they were drunk."Aang, do you feel this light and relaxed too?" Katara lazily smiled. "This stuff is great.""I feel like I really really want to kiss you," he responded, matter-of-factly."I'll take that as a yes," she chuckled back."Yeah, I feel really good, too," Aang sighed, happily getting lost in her eyes. "Everything feels right, right now. Everything feels perfect."Katara couldn't agree more. Her heart raced with how happy she felt as she looked up to the stars, Aang following suit. They could hear a tsungi horn play a melody in the background, and a group of people with bellowing laughs on the street. They never knew a night could look this beautiful.Aang reached in his pocket to pull out money to pay for dinner as he noticed Jiang walking with two skinny glasses filled with a bubbling drink. Aang's jaw dropped slightly and Katara turned around to see what he was reacting to.Jiang approached the table. "To end dinner during the Fire Festival, we always offer a complimentary champagne toast. You may want to make your way to our viewing deck, the fire show is set to begin soon! You can bring your glasses."Neither Aang nor Katara refused the glasses, partly not wanting to be rude, partly not caring anymore. Aang bowed to Jiang, leaving the money for dinner plus 5 extra gold coins. Her eyes widened. "Thank you for your generosity, Avatar. I mean, um, sir."Katara hysterically laughed as Aang smiled and shook his head as to not let Jiang feel embarrassed. "You've been wonderful, Jiang. Thank you for your hospitality."The couple made their way to the end of the rooftop to look over the balcony at a stage in the street. Four firebenders were getting into place and musicians began to play. They set their glasses on a table beside them. Aang hugged Katara from behind, pressing her against the railing. It was nice to be able to show public displays of affection without worrying about onlookers recognizing them. He was keenly aware of the thin clothing separating them from each other and felt the warmth that radiated between them. Katara occasionally found opportunities to "innocently" wiggle against him, causing Aang to twitch his eyes in frustration. Aang rested his cheek against her hair, right above her ear. "Knock it off, woman, I can't think straight." Katara looked up at him with big eyes before jutting her backside against him aggressively, causing him to fall back a few steps. She laughed at his faltering balance, so unlike an airbender, a confirmation of his lack of focus. "Heyy," he scolded, nibbling the top of her ear while tickling her sides, Katara squealing in response. The sound of a trumpet began to loudly play. The show was about to start.Aang handed Katara her glass and they both took a sip as they watched the performers create an impressive fire show. Along with the traditional orange fire, one bender used a powder to create green fire, then another made blue, and another made a dark red. It was beautiful as it swirled into the sky, the audience applauding. Aang whispered into Katara's ear. "That almost looked like the dragon's fire!"Katara smiled as she took another sip, mesmerized by the colors and the heat. Aang pressed even tighter into her. They both were enamored by the show, but they also were incredibly distracted by the pressure of Aang's hips pressing into Katara's backside. As the music built, the fire danced into beautiful shapes, and Katara turned around to kiss Aang. He gratefully kissed her back, still pinning her to the railing, aware of other people watching the show nearby them but not caring. Katara pulled away and turned back around, Aang side-eyeing the onlookers around them to see if anyone was staring. Most seemed to also be couples, and none seemed to even notice them (or care, if they did notice). Sipping their champagne absentmindedly, they both finished their glasses as the show concluded. Aang felt his skin buzzing from the alcohol as he took Katara's hand, both of them working together to walk in a straight line as they head towards the stairs. Katara started down the stairs first and looked over her shoulder at Aang, smiling. His breath caught."Come on, you can't look at me like that," Aang said, slightly slurred, but intelligible enough for Katara to understand. She stopped and he grabbed her face to kiss her passionately, strangers passing by them on the other side of the stairs. One couple giggled."Why don't you kiss me like that?" One woman teased to her boyfriend. Aang and Katara laughed against each other's lips.Katara pulled Aang down the stairs. "Come on, Avatar," Katara said instinctually, before quickly covering her mouth. Aang froze and looked to see if the couple heard her; thankfully, they hadn't. He shook his head and followed her down the stairs as she whispered an apology inbetween giggles. As promised, Aang pulled Katara over to the food vendor and bought them a matcha dessert."Aang, this is so yummy," Katara groaned as she bit into the dough filled with matcha ice cream, shaped like a fish.Aang nodded in agreement. "Super yummy," he said, mouth full of ice cream, both of them laughing at each other for no apparent reason. After the champagne, they both were feeling like they were floating on top of the world. Aang noticed a small dot of ice cream on Katara's nose and stuck his tongue out towards her. Katara squealed and backed away."Gross, what are you doing!" She laughed, Aang grabbing her sides to not let her get too far."Come on, you've got some- let me just get-"They both laughed as Katara dodged Aang's attempts, Aang eventually grabbing both sides of her face and kissing her. This was an effective distraction: the second Katara relaxed into the kiss, he brought his tongue up to slurp the tip of her nose."EWWW AANG, really??"They both couldn't hold back their laughter as they stumbled back into the crowd, hand in hand. They resumed their people-watching, noticing how everyone appeared even more lively than before. The music seemed louder and the streets seemed fuller. Katara hugged closely to Aang's side."Aang, this night is, it's perfect, you're perfect," she drunkenly said, him stopping and turning towards her and laughing as he kissed her forehead."I have the most beautiful girl, in probably the entire world, ever, right by me. And she's so pretty. So no, you're perfect." Aang replied, also drunk, both of them laughing at their terrible ability to communicate. Instead, they communicated through non-verbals as they walked; Aang rubbing the top of her waist, Katara feeling his biceps, Aang stealing a kiss on her neck, Katara pulling his kimono in closer. They were terrible at walking, too. They both stumbled side-to-side and couldn't stop chuckling at the euphoria pulsing through their veins. Katara was walking backwards, teasing Aang about his crooked hat, when she accidentally bumped into someone."Hey, ma'am, watch where you're-"Katara turned around, her eyes widening."Katara! Wow, of course you'd be the one to run into me. Why are you walking backwards, anyway-" Sokka stopped when he noticed Aang and Katara's droopy eyes and rosy faces, both of them unable to maintain their balance while standing. Suki, behind Sokka, stifled a giggle. Sokka smacked his forehead, glaring at Aang."Sokka, heyy, I didn't mean to hit, to run into you, what are you guys doing here!" Katara said, unconvincingly attempting to act sober."...Aaaaang," Sokka crescendoed his voice in anger. Aang walked forward with a large grin, putting his hand on Sokka's shoulder."Sokka, buddy, so good t'see you, and Suki, you look ravishing," Aang nodded to Suki, who couldn't contain her laugh now."Hey, Aang. I love both of your outfits. You guys look great," She giggled."Aang, I'm going to murder you. What did you do to my sister," Sokka said, trying to maintain an even tone. Normally, he would have thrown Aang's hand off of his shoulder, but it seemed like Aang really needed the stability."Sokka, I'm a grown adult, you know," Katara said, annoyed. "I'm fine." She hiccuped.Sokka didn't respond, attempting to control his breath, refusing to break eye contact with Aang. Aang sighed and returned to Katara, wrapping an arm around her, giving her a kiss on the cheek."We had a glass of wine.""Aang, I swear to Spirits if you don't tell me-""We had two glasses?""Aang.""We had two glasses....And some sake. And some champagne." Aang confessed, Katara looking up pleadingly to her brother. What they didn't say was how heavy Jiang's pours were.Sokka's nose flared. Before he could respond, Suki hugged him, trying to help him relax. "Sokka, it's okay. They deserve to have some fun."Sokka sighed, relaxed by her touch. "Can you still take care of her?" Sokka asked Aang. Even though the war was over, the entire group still felt on edge about their safety. Part of Sokka's concern was due to this, but the other part was due to him being a big brother.Aang furrowed his brow. "Sokka, of course. Nothing will ever happen to her. You do know that your sister is dating the Avatar, right?" he grinned.Katara groaned. "Will you both quit it? I don't need any protecting. I can take care of myself, thankyouverymuch."Suki interjected. "I think Sokka knows that, he's just a big brother, that's all."Katara softened. Suki could always calm the feuds between them. "Well, his big brother-ness is a little ridiculous sometimes." Aang grinned at Katara's adoption of his slang. "Anyways, this night has been super amazing, you guys. You should have seen the fire show back there.""Guys, the fire looked like the dragon fire!" Aang said excitedly, not specific enough for either Sokka or Suki to grasp what he was referencing. "How was your dinner?"Sokka's face relaxed. He loved talking about food. "The sushi was so so good. They had fish from all over the world, even the South! Suki accidentally put too much wasabi in one bite, which was funny,""It was not funny, it was so hot!" She chimed."That's what makes it funny! And, yes, you are hot," Sokka said, kissing her cheek. They had also been drinking, although they were better at concealing it. "Well, we're on our way to the next fire show. It should be on in a few minutes. The fireworks should happen shortly after that. Do you guys want to come?"Aang and Katara looked at each other, considering. Aang watched as Katara's gaze lingered on his lips, and turned back to Sokka. "That's okay, there's still one more place I'd like to take Katara."Suki and Katara started to say goodbye, and Sokka pulled Aang aside. "Aang, I will seriously kill you if anything happens to my sister. Hear that?" He gave Aang a hug."Yeah, yeah, really Sokka, don't worry. You know how much I love her. I'd die before anything ever happens to her." He hiccuped."Yeah, I know." Sokka replied, half-annoyed, half-admiring the love his best friend felt for his family. Realistically, he knew that Aang was the safest person that his sister could ever be around. She basically had the best body guard in the world. They said their farewells as Aang took Katara's hand, leading her through the crowd again."Do you think he's actually mad at me for drinking?" Katara spoke, self-conscious.Aang shook his head. "It's Sokka. You're the most important person in the world to him. We have that in common," he winked at her, Katara blushing. They both still felt the surge of alcohol coursing through their veins, not feeling their feet as they sped-walked down the street."Where are we going, anyway?" Katara asked, Aang looking down each street, navigating."We're almost there."They started to exit the busy streets, passing one vendor who was selling small bottles of sake."You there, lovely couple," the man running the vendor called out, causing Aang and Katara to stop and look over. "Care for a bottle of sake? It's supposed to bring good fortune if you drink it during the closing fireworks," he motioned to the different options. The bottles were short, maybe six ounces or so.Aang raised an eyebrow. "Are you making that up?""Are you from here?"Aang and Katara looked at each other. "No," he responded."Well that explains it. It's tradition, here. All adults drink sake during the fireworks."Aang shrugged and handed a few coins to the man. "Can you give us two of the best flavors?"The man grabbed a green bottle and a purple bottle and placed them into a small bag. Aang and Katara walked away from the booth and towards the inner palace. Out of earshot, the vendor muttered to himself, "Foreigners. They're too easy."Aang led Katara to one of the main streets, stopped in front of a door, and looked up. Katara followed his gaze and dropped her jaw. Aang had brought her to a skinny tower, the tallest building in the city that used to serve as a look-out tower. Aang fumbled in his pocket for a key."You have a key??" Katara asked, completely shocked.Aang shot her a smug look. "A guy has his ways."He led her inside and they stumbled up the never-ending winding stairs. As they got halfway, Katara began to slow, and Aang swept her up into his arms. She laughed against his neck as he used airbending to gain the stairs faster, eventually slowing down before taking the final steps to the top.Aang put Katara down as they both looked around at the view all around them. City lights, as far as the eye can see, ending at the ocean. A night with endless stars stretched in front of them. They could see the entire festival and hear the faint sounds of the commotion."Aang," Katara said, breathless from the view. "It's beautiful. It's absolutely beautiful. How did you do this?""I knew I couldn't just bring you up here on my glider, that would be trespassing. And I really didn't want to go to Fire Nation jail, I thought that might kill the mood. So I had to ask for some favors." In all honestly, all Aang had to do was walk up to the guard this morning and ask if it was okay. The guard, noticing Aang as the Avatar, immediately requested an additional key for him. He chuckled to himself. Okay, maybe he used the "Avatar card" a little more than he thought. It was for a really good reason, though; the city lights reflecting in Katara's eyes as she looked over the railing was entirely worth it.Aang motioned for her to sit on the bench with him, which was wide enough for them to both sit comfortably and lay against the back railing. Aang took off his hat and loosened the tie on his kimono. Katara continued to look into the city as she held onto Aang's arm, Aang opening the bottles for both of them."Look, Aang, that must be the fire show that Sokka and Suki are at!"Aang looked to where she was pointing. She was right, there was fire shooting into the air at different speeds.Katara gasped, making a sudden realization. "Wow, that means we're seeing the fireworks from here!? Aang, you really outdid yourself on this date,"Aang handed her the purple bottle and met her forehead, giving it a kiss. The relief her words gave him was almost enough to make him cry. "I wanted you to feel as special as you are," he said at a low volume. Katara didn't break eye contact as she took a sip, Aang mirroring her. Katara put her bottle on the ledge and grabbed Aang's to place it next to hers. She brought a hand up to touch his arrow, happy to see it again."You make me the happiest girl in the world," she confirmed, and leaned in to kiss him. They both sighed at the relief they felt from finally being able to really kiss each other. Aang grabbed her face with his right hand and her hips with his left, pulling her in closer. They were both hungry, deepening their kiss, their tongues dancing. They could taste the wine from the night in each other's mouths. Fingers were grasping at clothes, their motions impulsive and insatiable, Katara humming against Aang's lips. Katara broke away to kiss across his face to his ear, his eyes traveling to the V of her dress. Without much thought, he brought his hand up her torso and right under her breast, grabbing it fully when Katara bit his ear lobe. Their breathing was unorganized and desperate. Katara sighed in his ear as he squeezed and pulled her closer. They resumed their kiss, Aang feeling his slacks tightening around his waist.Exasperated, Aang broke away. "Katara, you're so beautiful tonight. I've been wanting to kiss you like this all night."They continued to catch their breath. "Me, too, Aang. God, this feels so good right now. I'm so happy," she said before rejoining their lips. Her hand slid up his chest and under the wrap of his kimono, him moaning and pulling her on top of his lap to straddle him. Katara dug her hips into his and they both bent their heads back in pleasure, Aang's erection obviously poking into her. They took turns making sounds between kisses, Aang lowering his head to kiss between her breasts. Katara grabbed the back of his head and whined.Just as Katara had started to move her hips deeper, they both jumped in shock; the firework show had started. They both eyed each other up and down, not wanting to stop, but not wanting to miss the show, either. Katara reluctantly moved back to where she was sitting, although quickly was amazed by the sight before her. Aang reached behind her and grabbed their bottles, handing Katara hers.Katara leaned back into Aang's lap as he put his arms over her shoulders, both of them watching in awe at the explosions of color. They took swigs from their bottles for good fortune, sharing "Woah"s and "Ooo"s as the fires burst and fizzled out. Katara rested her head against his chest and looked up to see the reflection of the show in Aang's eyes. She sometimes couldn't believe he was real, especially now, with the glimmer of light seeming to swim in his eyes. For a moment, she thought about what it would be like to live inside his gray irises, an endless supply of light dancing on the surface. When he looked down and met her gaze, smiling, Katara got chills. She could see every color of grays and blues and greens and oranges swirling in his soul, his timeless existence of thousands of lifetimes directly looking into hers. She thought, maybe, she would remember this moment forever.Aang leaned down to kiss her, then rubbed her cheek. "What?" He asked, hoping she was okay."You're beautiful," she whispered, although Aang couldn't hear her over the boom of the fireworks."What, baby? You're gonna miss the show," he smiled, giving her another kiss for good measure as she blinked and looked forward once more.Smiling, Katara felt the happiest she might have ever felt in her life. Her and Aang finished the last sips of their bottles, fully melting into the pleasure of their intoxicated state. The fireworks paused. "Oh, is it over?" Katara asked.Aang shook his head. "No, no one is leaving. They must be setting up the final ones."They both got up to stand at the edge of the railing. As soon as they looked down, an array of fireworks shot into the sky, shooting higher and exploding larger than they saw all night. Katara rested her hand on top of Aang's."Aang, it's incredible!"The show was truly breathtaking, now. All kinds of different colors and patterns shot through the sky, one after the other. Katara felt a hand touch her cheek and Aang pulled her in to kiss her as the final fireworks closed out the show. This kiss felt right, that's the only way they knew how to think of it. They were meant to be in this moment, buzzed off wine, sinking into each other's bodies. As the night grew quiet, Aang walked to the other side of the balcony and reached under the bench, pulling out his glider.Katara let out a breath. "You really hid your glider up here? How on earth did you do all of this," She asked incredulously before realizing his intentions. "Oh, we're- we're about to fly off this thing, aren't we."Aang grabbed their bottles and put them in his pockets, not wanting to leave a mess. He walked over to Katara and positioned the glider. She silently cursed herself for falling in love with an airbender. He shot her a sideways grin, his eyes droopy from the alcohol. "Hold on tight, babe."As soon as Aang saw that she was secure, he launched them off the tower. Her stomach dropped at first, but she was quickly distracted by the wind in her face and the breathtaking view. Aang flew over the festival, Katara taking in the sights of the streets. A couple people noticed the glider and pointed, surely knowing it was the Avatar. Aang flew lower and lower until they reached their apartment, softly landing them at their doorstep.Aang turned to ask Katara how the flight was, but Katara pinned him to the door, enveloping him in a kiss. He let out a surprised sound and heard the bottles drop from his pockets and onto the pavement. Katara didn't let him move, and Aang didn't want to. He grabbed the back of her head and kissed her back, his desire growing rapidly. Still kissing her, he reached back with his right hand and fumbled with the doorknob, eventually opening it as they stumbled inside. Aang attempted to shut the door behind him as Katara refused to have her lips leave his skin, traveling down his neck and onto the top of his chest as he used firebending to light a few candles without looking. Showoff, she thought. He picked her up, her legs wrapping around his waist as they continued their passionate kiss. He then pushed her against the door to fully close it, his hands feeling up and down the sides of her body before gripping the sides of her ass. Aang's tongue traced her bottom lip as they kissed. His mind wandered to the way she looked tonight, pushing her hair out of the way to expose her cleavage. He started to wonder if she did that on purpose, letting out a low growl.Katara's nails dug into the back of his neck, gasping. "Mm, Aang, I've wanted you all night. Please don't make me wait any longer," she begged, him growling in return. He carried her to their bedroom, again lighting a candle or two in the room without looking. They kicked off their shoes. He lowered her onto the mattress and fell on top of her, his hand starting to mess with the tie on her dress. He moved his lips down her chin and to her neck, moaning deep in his throat. He could feel her blood pulsing under his lips. "This was a beautiful dress, Katara," he breathed. "but I've been thinking about you taking it off all night." He licked and sucked on the skin at the crook of her neck, where her shoulder began. She sighed and grabbed the back of his head. "You undress in front of me and then expect me to focus.""I didn't think you would have this strong of a reaction," Katara replied pitifully as she tried to keep an even tone. Aang scoffed against her neck before returning to his suckling. Katara knew it was going to leave a bruise, and felt a rush of pleasure down to her core as he continued his motions. "You said you were thinking about other things, too. What were they?"Aangs teeth then sank into her neck, right around where his mouth was leaving his mark. Katara cried out, Aang digging his erection into her center."I was thinking of that, although in my vision, you were significantly more naked," His comment felt more like a suggestion, him pulling the tie at the side of her dress and pushing the top open. He groaned, looking at her chest bindings, which were much more promiscuous than he was used to due to her cutting them shorter for her dress. Now, her breasts nearly spilled out the top, her chest rising high on her inhales."Are you kidding me," he said to himself, using a hand to pull her breasts free from the wrap and burning it in his hands as he went."Aang," she scolded, although they both knew she had plenty of wraps. He greedily grabbed her left breast and kissed his way down to her right, Katara's legs wrapping around his back. When his mouth came down on her nipple, him repeating the sucking motions from her neck, Katara rolled her torso like a wave. They both shared an unspoken acknowledgment of how different these sensations felt under the effects of alcohol. Aang's lack of inhibition, Katara's swell of pleasure down her center; with their brains being muted in this way, it allowed them to feel primal with their lust. Katara's head swirled as Aang sighed and moved to her other nipple, her gripping Aang's waistband to pull him closer. Aang sat up and untied his kimono, throwing it to the floor. Katara caught her breath as she took in his muscular figure, something she had missed under all of that fabric. His tattoos traveled over curves of muscle in his arms, his arrows ending with strong fingers that grabbed her thighs."I can't believe you're real," she breathed, speaking aloud a thought she had all night. Her chest continued to rise and fall, her breasts glistening from Aang's saliva.Aang glanced at her chest and then back up at her eyes, smirking, before grabbing both breasts with both hands. He nestled himself between Katara's thighs, still sitting up, playing with her nipples. "I could say the same for you," He replied lovingly, starting to trail his hands down her torso, parting the fabric of her dress as he went. "I saw a lot of men looking at you tonight, you know," He rubbed his hands back and forth along the curve of her waist. "Women, too." Aang had never been the jealous type. In fact, it usually boosted his confidence to see other people notice her beauty, and knowing that she was his at the end of the day. After all, he was the one who had a half-naked Katara underneath him right now. "I can't believe I got so lucky."Katara gave a sideways smile, watching Aang's eyes rake over her figure. "I didn't notice. You're too distracting," She watched as he moved his hands lower, fully parting the dress to fall at her sides. Her new panties were on full display, and Aang froze. Katara noticed his erection prodding through his slacks."Fuck," he said after an inhale, thumbing the top of the lace. With his other hand, he instinctually squeezed his erection outside of his pants. "Katara, my God," he said loudly as he lowered himself down to kiss her navel. His arms hooked under her thighs as he pushed them up towards her chest, giving her wet kisses along the top of the fabric. "You really had these on all night, and I didn't know??"Katara could feel his hunger as he growled, taking the top of the fabric into his teeth. She could feel how wet she was and knew that she was soaking through her panties. She thought her heart might pound out of her chest."Should I be... sorry for that?""Yes," he growled again. "You should be."She laughed as he exhaled onto her center, but her laugh quickly turned into a moan as he kissed her outside of her panties, lower and lower. "Aang," she sighed, her desire becoming unbearable. Aang darted his eyes up to meet her gaze and moved her panties to the side, placing a wet, sensual kiss on her clit. She threw her head back. He brought his right hand to her folds and delicately touched her with his index and middle finger. His fingers easily slid up and down, his eyes rolling back. Katara winced with pleasure. Finally, she was getting what she wanted."You're so wet for me, Katara," he moaned as his fingers became coated in her fluid. His nose flared. "You smell so fucking good." Holding her panties to the side with his left hand, he returned his mouth to her clit and slowly put one finger inside of her. Katara's hips bucked, Aang sprawling his left fingers to keep her restrained as much as possible. He entered a second finger as he licked and kissed her folds, occasionally sucking as he had done with her breasts and her neck. Katara bit her lip and let out a high pitched moan. She felt an energy stir inside of her, an overwhelming sense of euphoria as she watched her boyfriend completely command her center. She squeezed herself tighter on his fingers as she wrestled with the sensations."I love seeing you like this," he sighed. "You're so tight on my fingers, I want to fuck you," he groaned, thinking about how tight she would feel once he replaced his fingers with his cock.Katara's vision was starting to blur. "Aang, I'm- this is so good. I'm gonna... soon..." She could barely get out a sentence, Aang chuckling at her attempt. He curled his fingers inside of her and loosely flicked his tongue back and forth on her clit, somehow feeling her get even tighter. He looked up at her to see her, panting, her eyes narrowed in pleasure. His dick was aching in his pants. He wanted to see her find relief."Kat, baby, let go." He instructed, increasing the speed of his fingers. "Come on, you can cum for me, girl." Katara moaned as her body rolled, quickly approaching the peak of her orgasm. "That's it," He encouraged, continuing his pace. She loudly exhaled his name, grabbing his head as she rode out the intensity of her pleasure. Aang could feel a new fluid dripping down his fingers and onto his palm. He felt something primal take over him, his eyes burning while watching her come undone. He needed her, badly. He cursed.Panting, he stood up to take off his pants as Katara recovered, her sighing with his heat leaving her body. As she saw Aang remove his clothes, she followed suit, throwing her dress to the floor. She left her panties on, thinking that Aang could decide when it was time for them to go. She looked up to see Aang's fully erect dick as he stepped out of his pants, her eyes growing wide. He returned to the bed and sat up at the headboard, inviting her to come sit on his lap. Katara eyed him for a moment, taking him in. "That felt incredible, Aang," she said, scooting closer to him, crawling between his legs. He watched her, wondering why she wasn't placing herself on top of him. "And you've been hiding this all night?" She reached her right hand forward and gripped him, causing Aang to inhale sharply. His breath turned shallow. She started to move her hand up and down, Aang letting out low, pitiful noises. "I knew I felt something while you were pressing me against that railing," She continued. Aang started to reply, but she cut him off. "Don't act like you weren't hard, I know what I felt." Aang shut up.Katara lowered her mouth onto him as Aang let out a cry. She started with the tip and took more and more of him, making sure that he was completely covered in saliva. She swirled her tongue around him as she came back up, popping her mouth off of him as she pumped the tip of his cock with her palm. Aang looked tortured, his eyes back in his head and his face twisted into a wince. He was panting again. She returned her mouth to his tip, increasing the pace of her motions up and down his shaft."Katara, it feels so good," he whined, his fingers wrapping tightly into her hair. She took him deeper, Aang releasing a guttural groan. She hummed against his skin, which added even more sensation. He could barely stand it, feeling her fingers tightly pump up and down while her tongue moved all around him. Her spit was dripping down to the base of his cock.Aang held his breath and couldn't help himself, thrusting his hips up into her mouth. Katara moaned but welcomed the urgency, allowing him to hit the back of her throat as he held her head in place. He forced himself to stop for a moment. "Katara, look at me," he huffed, Katara blinking up to meet his eyes. "Tell me if you want me to stop. I'm sorry, it's just so good." His voice was scratchy and desperate, overcome with lust. Katara released him from her mouth, not breaking eye contact. "Please, don't stop." She continued rubbing him up and down. "I love having you in my mouth." Before he could respond, she took him in again, continuing the motions that Aang had paused. She heard him let out an incredulous huff, him tightening his fingers in her hair once again."Fuck." Aang stated loudly, resuming his thrusts. Katara tightened her lips and continued the jerking motion with her hand, wanting to fully break down his walls. She felt his intensity through the grip in his fingers, the flexing of his muscles as he fucked her mouth. Every few moments, Aang would slow his thrusts and Katara would continue the pace herself. They alternated in this way for a few minutes until Aang's thrusts became erratic. Katara looked up to hold his eye contact. Her blue gaze as his dick pumped in and out of her lips made him see stars."Katara, we have to stop, I don't want to cum," he begged, Katara slowing down and releasing him from her mouth. She giggled as he worked to catch his breath. "That was unbelievable, I'm gonna need... a second..." Aang focused on slowing his heart rate as Katara sat up on her knees, smiling as she wiped her mouth and combed her fingers through her hair. Both of them had a thin layer of sweat. When Aang seemed to be somewhat recovered, she got up and straddled him on his lap. His hands immediately went to her ass, feeling the lace of her panties as he dove his face into her neck."The things you do to me, girl..." he complimented, earning a giggle from Katara as she bent to nibble on his ear. "Kiss me." he requested, her quickly obliging. Their kisses became increasingly intentional and desperate throughout the night, Aang squeezing her ass and Katara reaching out to grab Aang's erection. "You're so hard, Aang," she sighed against his lips, him reaching up to hold the side of her face. Katara started to grind her hips into his length, eliciting a groan from Aang as he tightened his grip on her waist. "I have the most beautiful girl in the world on my lap right now," Aang said into her neck, Katara holding onto his head in response. He pulled his head back and looked at her dragon necklace sitting right above her breasts, suddenly feeling very thankful he bought it for her. "Katara, I need you, right now." Katara knew he couldn't take it anymore, and she didn't know if she could stand any more delays, either. She started to reach back to pull down her panties when he stopped her hands. "Those aren't going anywhere," he growled, taking the sides of the fabric into both hands and pulling it up high. This caused her panties to wedgie and push up into her folds, the friction causing a moan from Katara. He moved his right hand down to her panties and pulled them to the side to feel her wetness again, Katara sinking her teeth into the skin under his ear. He spread her fluid around, her panties completely soaked as he lined himself up with her. Katara eagerly helped him, sinking fully down to his base.Aang's breath hitched as he felt the intensity of her tightness around his dick and the sounds of her wetness as she slid up and down. They both moaned each other's names, feeling overwhelmed at the sensation from something they had both been craving all night. "You're so tight," he breathed. She increased her pace as he threw his head back, tortured. She used her thumb to trace his face, starting with his arrow. "Aang, I don't know if you've ever been this thick," she sighed, him panting at her erotic reflections. Katara dug her nails into his shoulders and dragged them down his chest, leaving deep scratches. He didn't care. He couldn't believe how good this felt, both of their muscles loose and their worries so far away. Katara reached a hand down and started circling her clit, not feeling insecure as she watched his eyes lock on the motion of her fingers."You're so sexy, Kat," he exhaled, feeling himself swell inside of her as he watched her pleasure herself. Unfocused, Katara looked as if she was using Aang's dick to supplement her own intensity, and Aang couldn't get enough of it. He felt like the luckiest guy in the world to offer that service.Something took over Aang, then. He scooted down slightly and tightly gripped her hips, taking full control of the thrusts. Katara yelped and bit her lip, her hands coming forward on his shoulders as he wildly pumped in and out of her. The sounds of her wetness inbetween their moans was almost too much to handle."Oh, Spirits, Aang, you're-" she panted, him hitting a deep spot within her. "You're so deep, fuck, Aang,"Aang's mind traveled again to the way Katara looked at dinner, her ass pressing into him on the balcony, her eyes as she stopped on the stairs and smiled up at him, her hips as she dug them into him at the tower. He growled as he felt his own intensity building again. He didn't want to cum now, either, and if he kept it up, it would happen soon. He brought his hands to her waist, lifted her up, and pushed her forward onto the mattress. She curiously looked up at him, wondering why he stopped. "Turn around. Lay on your stomach," he directed. Katara looked into his eyes to try to decipher his intentions. He looked back at her, serious. She did what she was told. She crossed her arms and lay flat as she felt him sit above her thighs, straddling her. His hands rested on her back and slowly felt her as they traveled down, her skin shivering as he moved. Her heart was racing. His hands stopped at the top of her panties, his left hand taking the fabric tightly into his fist. "You knew you were wearing these as you pushed your ass into me on that balcony," he accused, his tone suddenly deep and authoritative. Katara gulped and felt her clit throb with desire. He pulled the fabric up tightly with his left hand, exposing more of her ass, as his right hand came down on her ass cheek. She quietly yelped and bit her lip, looking back at him in surprise. Aang met her eyes immediately."You were acting so nonchalant, so innocent," he continued, not breaking eye contact, rubbing the red mark he created. Katara moaned and lifted her hips into his hand, wanting. "You knew what you were doing. You know what that does to me, Katara." He slapped her cheek again, harder this time, Katara letting out a louder moan. Aang chuckled. "I love how you like getting spanked. You fucking turn me on, and you know it," he continued, growling, spanking her again. "So beautiful..." he whispered, squeezing and caressing her ass with both hands."Aang, please, come back inside me," Katara was incredibly aroused. She didn't think she could handle any more delays.Aang ignored her. "These panties look amazing on you. I can't believe you are mine," he continued, his fingers traveling under her panties and into her heat once again. Katara bit her arm. Aang groaned at how wet she was, and how she completely soaked through her panties. "They're awfully wet now, though," he clicked his tongue.Katara panted. "They've been like that all night."He hummed as he pulled them down with both hands, stopping once they were right under her ass. Katara instinctually lifted her hips and arched her back, giving Aang an erotic view. He cursed loudly. His fingers continued rubbing her, watching her tighten as he entered them inside. He felt like he was in a trance."Aang, enough," she begged. "Fuck me, please, Avatar." Katara knew what she was doing. She had to play the Avatar card to get what she wanted."Fuck, I love it when you call me that." His head spun with desire. He lined up behind her and watched as he pushed in, her walls fully surrounding him, her wetness building around the base of his cock. He grabbed her ass tightly and groaned at the pleasure. Finally, Katara thought. Aang's pace was building quickly, him grunting behind her as he plummeted as deep as he could. Katara burned all over, and for a moment, she wondered if she was in heaven. She arched her back further, Aang slamming forcefully as the sounds of both of their pleasure bounced off the walls. Aang leaned over above her ear, gently grabbing her hair with his right hand as he braced himself on her back with his left hand.He growled in her ear. "This is what you do to me, Katara. You make me feel so fucking good." His ragged breath above her, Katara let out a high pitched sound."You're so- deep-" she said between thrusts."I know, baby.""Fuck, Aang, I'm gonna cum again,"This was enough for Aang to wildly slam into her, his grip on her hair causing her neck to slightly bend back. He was intoxicated with her scent, the glow of her skin, the sound of her cries and her wetness as he slid in and out. She was a Goddess, and she was all his. He gently turned her head to look back at him."Look at me." He commanded, Katara flicking her eyes open to watch as his face twisted in pleasure, intensely focused on the sensation. She felt a wave of euphoria as she fully submitted to him and the pleasure he was creating. Her eyes started to close, overwhelmed. "Look at me, Kat." He held her gaze, watching her eyes glaze over. "Cum on this cock, baby. I've got you," he grunted, not losing the intense rhythm in his hips.Looking into his eyes, Katara spilled over, erratically spasming under him. Aang cooed into her ear. "That's right, good girl, that's it," He continued as she rode out wave after wave of her orgasm. Aang chuckled with pleasure as he felt her intensely tighten onto him, his own wave building in his core. He didn't stop his pace in her, and Katara felt like her orgasm wasn't ending. She knew when Aang was close. Usually, his muscles would tense up, his breathing would be irregular, his grip would grow tighter; all of the above were true now. She continued tightening her walls around him and watched with satisfaction as Aang's eyebrows furrowed, him hitting her deep with every thrust."Aang, are you gonna cum in me?""Do you want me to cum in you?""What do you think," she said sarcastically, earning a smack on her other ass cheek. She whined and then giggled at his frustration. His eyes rolled to the back of his head."Katara, I'm so close. You feel so good." he panted, Katara still feeling the sensitivity of her own orgasm. She met her hips with his, his rhythm slightly faltering."Baby, please, cum in me," she pleaded, his nails digging into her skin as the muscles in his body flexed. After a few more thrusts, Aang dove his face into her neck and bit down. He felt like he exploded as he released into his girlfriend, moaning loudly into her skin."Fuck, baby," he groaned as he continued thrusting, ensuring that every last drop was expelled. Katara moaned underneath him, feeling dizzy from the pleasure. They froze in that position for a moment, sitting with the feeling, not wanting it to end. They caught their breath as Aang landed tired, lazy kisses on her throat. As he pulled out of her, they both winced from the sensitivity in their nerves. Aang sat back and watched as his release slowly dripped out of her and onto her panties. He felt like he was in a dream.Aang used waterbending to help clean up, Katara blushing and waddling into the bathroom as Aang laughed at her expression. He pulled on some sleep shorts and straightened the sheets, Katara soon returning in a silky nightgown. He pulled her into bed and blew out the candles with airbending. Hugging her closely, he nuzzled into her neck, both of them speechless for a few minutes."That was... wow, Aang. I don't know if I've ever felt like this," she thought out loud, Aang nodding and kissing her neck."Me, too. I feel on top of the world." He whispered, pulling his face up to meet hers for a slow kiss. She held his face in her palm, kissing him gently, reviewing their entire night in her head."Thank you, Aang. I don't think I'll ever forget this date for the rest of my life. You made it really, really special." A tear was forming in her eye, overwhelmed with love for her boy. She felt silly, but then felt a tear of Aang's drip onto her thumb. She kissed him again, then kissed the tears away from both of his eyes."I love you, Katara. This was one of the best nights of my life.""I love you too, Avatar."_____________________________________The sun began to peek through the curtains. Aang, being the most sensitive to the morning light, flicked his eyes open and felt Katara's breath on his chest. He looked down and saw how peaceful her face looked. He felt a little dizzy, like a small headache was forming. He stretched through his discomfort, Katara stirring underneath him."Good morning, my love," he whispered. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."She slowly opened her eyes and rubbed them before smiling up at him. "Morning." She gave him a kiss. Aang started to move the hair away from her face as they both sat up, immediately feeling a rush to their heads. They both grabbed their foreheads and groaned. Aang grabbed the glass of water by the bed and handed it to Katara."It must be the wine," he mused."It was probably that sake," she suggested. "Is this supposed to be what good fortune feels like?"Aang laughed, chugging the water after she handed it to him."That was some night, Aang," she said dreamily. They both jumped when they heard banging at the front door. Katara looked at Aang, shocked. Aang floated up and walked to the front of the house, running into a wall on his way. Damn, he thought. My calibration is all off.Katara followed Aang to the door, wrapping a robe around her gown. Aang answered it and saw a fuming Sokka, standing with his arms crossed. He motioned to the ground."Aang, really?" he yelled. Through droopy eyes, Aang looked to the ground to see the two empty bottles of sake. He groaned and hit his forehead with his palm. Shit, I totally forgot about those."First, you drug my sister, and now you're littering the street with your foolishness? How drunk did you two get last night?" Aang and Katara were both silent. They obviously couldn't tell him that his sister pushed Aang against the door, kissing him, neglecting the bottles that fell out of his pocket. He didn't do it on purpose, but he knew that nothing he told Sokka would work.Katara rolled her eyes. "Sokka, Aang didn't drug me. We just had a few drinks. We're completely fine. I'm alive, aren't I?""He's not about to be," Sokka huffed as he looked at Aang. He suddenly noticed the scratches on Aang's chest. "Hey, what happened to your-"Aang darted his eyes to Katara, both of them looking guilty. Katara attempted to casually pull up the collar of her robe to hide the hickey Aang gave her last night, but Sokka noticed before she covered it fully. Sokka let out an exasperated noise, pinching the bridge of his nose."My sister- why did you- did you really-" he groaned. "I don't even want to know. I'll ask some of the guards to bring you guys some coconut water, while I go attempt to wash my eyes out with bleach.""Good to see you, Sokka!" Aang beamed, Sokka grumbling in response. They turned to head back inside the apartment, Aang picking up the bottles as he went. "Come on, babe," Aang laughed. "I don't want to do anything today except lay in bed and kiss you."Katara grinned and took his hand, closing the door behind them.
