“What the hell do you think you're doing?” Natasha asked, walking into the room Steve chose to be Sunshine's nursery.
It was right next to his bedroom and across the hall from his art studio, it was also diagonally across the hall from the room he decorated for Bucky.
It used to be the guest room, but the only guests he would get would be either Natasha or Sam and Natasha lived at the tower and if she or Sam stayed the night (sometimes both) they would just sleep in Steve's bed because they mostly stayed over because of the fact that Steve needed to be held, so the guest room would be Sunshine’s room.
Steve was currently sitting on the floor of the nursery in nothing but a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt that Tony got him that said “this is what happens when you party naked” with an arrow pointing to Steve's bump, Steve secretly found it funny and only wore it around the tower and under a jacket to Sam's. The Super Soldier was attempting to put together a crib.
In the corner was the soft pink glider Tony and Pepper had given Steve at his baby shower (a surprise planned by Natasha, Pepper and Wanda), put together and had a stuffed Bucky Bear sitting on it.
“I am trying to make the damn crib, what else would I be doing sitting on the floor,” Steve said, annoyance clear in his voice.
Natasha pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a long breath. Steve Rogers was a freaking idiot
“Steven Grant Rogers I swear to fucking thor if you do not stop right fucking now I will tell Phil his hero is putting Sunshine in danger,” Natasha said in her scary black widow voice. Using the fact that Steve hated disappointing people to her advantage in getting Steve to not put her goddaughter in danger by sitting on the floor putting together a damn crib.
“Fine fine, help me up,” Steve sighed, reaching a hand out toward the black widow.
Natasha grabbed Steve’s hand with her right hand and placed her left in his elbow, using the leverage to pull the captain to his feet. Steve looked at the crib on the floor and sighed sadly.
“It was always supposed to be Bucky to put together the crib.” Steve said sadly.
Natasha put a hand on Steve’s back and rubbed comforting circles.
“I know, we’ll get him back soon,” Natasha replied, and for Steve’s sake she hoped she was right.
