She feels the cold metal under her skin.Where the hell am I? She wonders. As though on cue, the box-like cage shudders beneath her, jolting her heart into a frantic rhythm. Summoning every last ounce of energy, she tried to stand up, but the cage jerked upward, and the sounds of a blaring siren, accompanied by the ear-piercing screech of metal, floods her senses.
Oh my god. Is it going to be like this forever?
Afraid for her life, she attempted to stand once more, but the ache in her body overwhelms her, and a groan escapes her lips. Shuddering through the pain, she forced herself up, only to have her forehead slam onto the roof of the cage."Ouch! Fuck." Her hands instinctively move to touch the new gash on her forehead, and she pulled them away in shock, her fingertips were stained with blood. Her breath came in labored gasps, chest heaving, as bile rises in her throat. She lurched forward, coughing up water, the taste bitter and metallic.Trying to compose herself and recover from the searing pain in her throat, she crawled to the corner surrounded by boxes. Her eyes dart around, taking in the few kegs and crates labeled W.C.K.D.
What the hell is W.C.K.D? WICKED?
Did that ring a bell? She questions herself, but to her dismay, her memory is a void. Why can’t she remember? Her breath quickens again, and she closed her eyes, fighting off panic.
No. It isn’t the time to be panicking right now. Think. Think! What could you do???
Her eyes shot open and looked everywhere, she doesn’t know when the box is going to stop, and what’s waiting for her. The best thing to do is look for a weapon for the mean time. She scrambles to her knees, using the flashing white light outside the cage to search the boxes. Medical supplies, seeds, food?
What the hell? Am I gonna live here? What’s with all these supplies???
In the last box, she finds sandpaper. Using all her creativity, she shapes and folds the sandpaper into a makeshift knife. It isn’t much, but it might help her.She then takes a thin bottle from the medical supplies, using some medical tape to attach the sandpaper-turned-knife to the bottle, creating a handle. She gasps as the blaring intensifies and a red light flashes. Shutting her eyes for a moment to gather herself, she feels a trickle of warm blood down her forehead to her cheeks. She retreats to her hiding place by the boxes, hugging her knees to her chest.Suddenly, darkness escapes and light floods in, blinding her momentarily. She struggles to adjust to the brightness, her heart pounding. She hears voices and bites her lip so hard that blood starts to draw, clutching her makeshift weapon tightly to her chest. The box shakes as a pair of shoes come into view. She gulps, trying her best not to let tears escape from her eyes. She’s absolutely terrified.“Can you see him, Newt?!” “Has the new greenie klunked himself?!” From that said, bursts of laughter were echoing through her ears. A blond haired boy had came into view, a small gasp escaped her, and his head snaps around so fast she thought it cracked. He looks so… familiar. A gasp escaped him too, and she instantly pointed her weapon at him, which he looked at, and back at her. “Is he that ugly?”“Haha! It’s a sight to see Newt so shocked!” "Slim it!" The boy turns his back to her and faces the people above. Slowly, he looks back down at her, raising his hand towards her, causing her hand to tremble even more.Assuming that the boy’s name was Newt, she looked more intently at him."Hey, hey. It’s alright, we aren’t gonna hurt you. You’re already hurt, we can help with that, okay? Trust me." Newt nods reassuringly, and she doesn't even realize he has come so close, kneeling in front of her. Her breath becomes ragged again."Don't come near me! I’m telling you!" Her breaths are ragged, tears streaming down her cheeks. He backs up. Gasps are heard from the people above, they all sounded like boys. “Is it a girl??”“She has the same accent as Newt!” “What? Why did they send up a girl???”“I call dibs!! Haha!” “A girl?!”
Oh hell no, I’m not coming out of here.
Newt stands up, looking away from her again and turns his attention back to the boys. “I said slim it, slintheads! Go back to work! Gally, tell Alby about this.”“Alright. Get back at it shanks!” The boy, who she assumed was Gally, clapped his hands and walked away with a stern expression. The other boys followed him, groaning in disappointment.
For sure this guy is some authority in any way.
She hurriedly wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand, if she could only mold closer with the metal down her back. He turns back to her, giving her his full attention.“If it makes you feel better, my name is Newt-“ “Why can’t I remember mine?!” She cut him off. She had so many questions down her throat. She looked at him intently, “My name… I don’t know who I am. Where am I from? Who are you?!” She was afraid. She didn’t know where she was, and a suffocating sense of confusion gripped her. “Alright, alright. Calm down. If you come up with me, I’ll show you. You can keep that… and we’ll talk. Sounds okay?” Newt reassured her, and tried to reason, and she felt better from the tone of his voice. She felt her cheeks heat up from embarrassment at the mention of her weapon. He held a hand out to her and she looked at it for quite a while, contemplating, she believed his words. He wouldn’t hurt her. She lowered down her weapon, but held a tight grip on it and took his hand and tried to stand up, instantly making her legs wobble, her body weak. The girl had no clue when was the last time she walked. Newt managed to hold both her elbows to help her stabilize herself before she had the chance to fall to the ground again. Her vision was blurry from standing up so quickly. “C’mon now.”After Newt helped her out of the box, she took in her surroundings, feeling as if the whole world was shaking beneath her.She glanced at the people around her, noticing they were trying their best not to stare. Each person was absorbed in their own tasks and areas of expertise.
Are they all boys?
“Follow me,” a voice called out to her.She saw Newt walking past her and she furrowed her eyebrows, jogging to catch up. She quickly took a notice of his limp.“I don’t see any girls here,” she questions, looking at Newt for reassurance. “Well, Greenie, you’re the first ever girl,” he replied, stopping to look at her with furrowed brows.“Now, don’t panic. Alby’s coming; he’ll explain more, but for the meantime, I’ll tour you around yeah?” Newt said, trying to uplift her mood as he noticed her deepening thoughts. She looked at him, then glanced behind her, taking in the scenery around her. Four high walls enclosed the area, their surfaces covered in creeping ivy.“Walls,” she murmured, starting to feel claustrophobic. She turned back to Newt, her throat tight with questions.“Why are there walls here? And I can’t even remember my own name, nothing,” she said, her fear evident. Her heart pounded in her chest as the reality of her situation sank in. She was trapped in this place and surrounded by people she didn’t know.“We call it The Glade,” he paused, looking her in the eye. “We don’t have many answers. Everyone started just like you, none of us had any memory whatsoever. We were all in the same position. It was alien to her that she couldn’t even remember anything about her life before she was put here. She couldn’t even remember her own name and her appearance, confusion clouded the girl’s mind. They walked a bit more, side by side. Seeing some boys walking around, having things to do. Newt gestured to the center of the Glade, his hands found its way to his hips resting, looking around his surroundings with a proud smile. She furrowed her eyebrows, analyzing the many buildings and order around the place, knowing what it could have taken for the place to stand like this. Newt turned to the girl, his eyes reflecting both pride and nostalgia. "It's taken a lot, but we've built something special here,”he said earnestly. "Welcome to the Glade." As they strolled through the heart of the Glade, Newt looked at everything with pride. “Over there,” he points, “is the garden. Pretty much everything we eat, we grow ourselves.” They approached the gardens with crops flourishing under the light, seeing a few people here and there. “We call them Track-Hoes. Zart there is the keeper,” Newt explained, waving towards the boy who returned the gesture with a friendly wave. She observed Zart attentively as they passed by, noting his easy demeanor and the respect with which others interacted with him.“Down here, are the builders.” They walked past busy workshops where the gladers tinkered on salvaged materials, crafting tools and fixing structures with skill. The air buzzed with activity and occasional laughter, showing their resilience and strong sense of community.“You can see Gally over there, he’s the keeper.” Newt told her information about the bunch, she nodded her head, taking in the information.“And there,” Newt paused, pointing towards the dense forest, “are the Deadheads. We bury those who didn’t make it.” His voice lowered, the weight of his words heavy in the still air. She sensed the tension in the air, and she didn’t want to pry. They walked a bit more, the atmosphere growing lighter with each step. They slowed their pace as they approached another area. "And here are the slicers," Newt explained with a grin. "They take care of the animals—pretty straightforward." The girl smiled warmly as she reached out to scratch the head of a goat, feeling a connection with the gentle creature.“Animal pens over there, we’ve got pigs, goats and even a couple of chickens, we’ve got a supply of milk, eggs and occasionally.. meat.” He tried not to laugh seeing her expression change at the goat. “Winston!” Newt yelled over at the boy, who was looking a bit challenged in handling the animals. “Hey! Hi Greenie!” Winston yelled back, a wave was thrown to her direction. She gingerly waved back, too shy and unfamiliar with the person. Walking away soon with Newt. She nodded, looking back at the Glade, impressed by the sense of responsibility and leadership each member seemed to embody. “It must take a lot to keep everything running smoothly.” Her voice was as much as a whisper, not confident enough to speak to not lure attention to herself. “That’s what it’s all about,” Newt agreed warmly. “It’s not much, but it’s home to the others.” He looked back at the Glade once more with his hands on his hips. She reflected on Newt's words as they walked through the Glade. "It's not much, but it's home to the others.” echoed in her mind, to her, this wasn’t just a place—it felt like a prison. While others saw it as their home, she was terrified at the thought of being stuck here forever, fearing she might never see it that way.Pulled out of her thoughts, Newt placed his hand on her shoulder. “You have one bloody nasty of a gash there. What about coming to the Med-Jacks with me to fix that up? How’s that sound yeah?” Newt put on a bright smile on his face. While they walked through the Glade with a destination in their minds, she saw a dark-skinned boy about the same age as Newt. He jogged over and smiled at her. She didn’t pass the thought that it was forced.“Hey there, Green Bean. Sorry I didn’t really welcome you, I had to talk to the others,”he started.“It’s all good, Alby. She’s in good hands, already toured her around,” Newt snickered, and she couldn’t help but send a grin back, slowly loosening her grip around her weapon.“Hello,” she whispered, looking down at her boots. Taking a good look at her made-shift weapon, it was embarrassing to think it could have hurt someone.“Seems like you’ve already met Newt. When I’m not around, he’s in charge,” Alby said, glancing at Newt with pride.“Well, good thing you’re always around then,” Newt beamed, looking at him.“Now, I still have things to do. Bye, Alby,”Newt nodded to her, “Greenie.” Newt turned to walk away but stopped in his tracks. “Also, the girl has a gash on her forehead!” he called out, gesturing to his own head to illustrate. Then, without another word, he resumed walking, his steps deliberate and unhurried.“Copy that!” They walked around the Glade, with Alby waving to some boys. She tried to absorb her surroundings, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the unfamiliar sights. Noticing her fear and confusion, Alby decided to explain.“We don’t know who put us here, but they send us supplies every month with that box and a new Greenie. This month, that’s you,” Alby smiled.“What’s a Greenie?” She asked, confused.“It’s like a placeholder, at least until you remember your name. Guessing you still can’t, right?”“Yeah, I still can’t,” she said, feeling puzzled.
I’m trying to remember, but it’s like a brick wall I can’t get past.
“We’ve only got three rules here, Greenie. First, do your part, no time for any freeloaders. Second, don’t ever harm another Glader. Trust is crucial here.“ Alby paused looked at her seriously, knowing that she understood what he said, “And by the second rule, it’s made clear that no one is allowed to bother you.” Alby sternly said, and turned his gaze away. She nodded, They can’t bother me. No one will touch me.“Third, don’t ever, go beyond those walls.” He pointed to the stone walls creeping with ivy. She looked at the walls, her head starting to hurt with confusion, and the urgent need for knowledge was really creeping up to her. She felt like she was going insane. “Who put us here? Why?” She desperately asked, seeing Alby’s tense expression.“That, we don’t know. We call them The Creators. We don’t know why, we don’t know much,” he replied.“They just send us supplies every month, and it’s our job to do our part.” He paused before looking at her with a serious expression. Alby’s eyes traveled to her forehead.“Enough questions for now. Let’s get you all fixed up,” he said, tapping the door of the Med Hut and looking at her. She didn’t even notice they arrived at the place already. She was about to step inside when she stopped in her tracks, her attention drawn to two people emerging from the maze. Her gaze quickly dropped to her shoes when she made eye contact with an Asian boy.She looked at Alby, her eyes intently looking at him. “I thought you said we weren’t allowed to go there?” “Well, that’s for you. Runners are only allowed to go in there. Now, come on. Any sooner you’re gonna bleed out.” “Wait, runners?” Her eyes widened and her brows furrowed. “It will all make sense eventually.” Alby gestured to the front of the door, opening it for her. As was her habit, she ran her fingers through a strand of her very long hair, which reached down to her hips in waves. She just noticed its color is just like Newt’s, just a tad more ginger.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“Hey Alby. Hey Greenie. Call me Clint.” A hand was extended toward her, slightly calloused from work.“Clint here is the Keeper,” Alby chimed in, nudging towards the boy in front of her. “Hi.” She tried her best to smile at him, her lips curving with effort, despite feeling dizzy from the cut in her forehead. She glanced around the hut, noting the medical supplies scattered haphazardly on every surface.
This can’t be sanitary…
“I think… I know how to fix myself up.” The redhead spoke with confidence as she looked around more. Clint looked at his leader and shrugged. Alby was leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, watching them with a contemplative expression.“Well it doesn’t hurt to try. Help yourself, I’ll stay to supervise.” His grin was reassuring, and she nodded in acknowledgement. The red headed girl looked at the small mirror, not having any time to look at her reflection, she looked more at the gash on her forehead. It was red and angry. She sighed and looked at Clint. “It looks pretty bad.” She winced, anticipating his assessment. “It does look bad, what can I do to help?” “Please show me where’s the antiseptic.”Treating her injury was like second nature, She cleaned the cut with steady hands, using the end of a cloth that was soaked in antiseptic, quietly wincing at the sting when she dabbed it on the wound, and for the first time since she arrived in the Glade, she felt confident.Alby and Clint took a quick glance at each other, but sat quietly, observing her more. She then placed a clean bandage over, using some medical tape here and there. She gave a small nod of approval to herself, turning her attention back to the two boys behind her. “Wow Greenie, I think you’ll fit in here just fine. What do you say?” Alby approval was evident, satisfied with her calm and composed demeanor. “Yeah, I agree. You did good! Perfect even. You have my full approval.” Clint held up a hand and they shared a high-five. “I think I like it here, I just know what to do and I’m confident I can do it.” She seemed puzzled by her own knowledge to medicine. Alby nodded with a small grin on his lips,“Well, since Clint seems like he wants you to be around, I see no reason to oppose.”Alby clapped at her shoulder as she stood there proudly. “It’s rare to get a job on your first day in the Glade. If you’re ever unsure, you can always ask Clint.” Alby nodded at the Keeper, who was amazed at the skills of the girl. Clint gave her his approval before going to help set up the bonfire, to take care of the supplies and to arrange them in good order. She was getting a bit worried that these supplies weren’t handled properly and it might get in the way in times of emergency.A knock interrupted her thoughts and Newt poked his head in. “Hey Greenie! Wanna go get some dinner? They’re preparing the bonfire now.” Newt smiles, seeing that she’s becoming comfortable in here. “Just cleaning things up,” She wiped her hands on her dark sage cargo pants, and tossed her hair to her left shoulder, which cascaded down into a thick wave. She didn't realize how hungry she was until her hands trembled slightly as she reached for a plate. The slight shake in her fingers was a reminder that she had gone way too long without eating.Newt nudged her toward one of the tables where some boys were already sitting. She recognized a few of them. As they both approached, they scooted over to give her some space. She hesitated for a moment before lowering herself onto the bench. The boys continued their conversation, but a few of them gave her encouraging nods and smiles, making her feel a bit more at ease.“I’m Jeff by the way, we’ll be working together in the med hut.” Jeff introduced himself to the girl, but it came out as a murmur due to his mouth being full. She couldn’t help but let out a small giggle at the boy in front of her, he reminded her of a squirrel whose cheeks were full of acorns. “Oh come on Jeff! She’s gonna think the rest of us are slops now!” A boy groaned, whom she recognized as the Keeper of the Track-Hoes.
They’re pretty bad at naming stuff.
She couldn’t help but laugh at the thought. As they finished up, walking together with Newt once again, they both seemed to stick like glue, the boy had an aura that made her feel safe. They approached a bonfire being set up, with others bringing more bundles of wood, it was steadily growing taller. The night was young and the sounds of crickets and the occasional hoot of an owl, added to the atmosphere of the gathering.“Hello Green Bean!” “Heya!”The people passing by were giving her some acknowledgment and greeting her, it built her confidence and she walked her way around with newly found assurance. She glanced at the crowd, watching as they settled in and made themselves comfortable, their conversations growing more animated by the minute.“Newt!” She heard someone call. It’s the Asian boy, his dark hair framed his face and his almond-shaped eyes sparkled with curiosity when it landed on her. A shy smile crept up on her face as she looked at the boy before her. “You’re a little late-“ Newt was cut off,“Hey there, Shebean. You can call me Minho.”He had completely ignored Newt beside her, whom he called first. She snickered at the boy beside her, who was looking amused at Minho. “Hello Minho,” Minho looked at her and to her hair, and he looked back at her eyes once again. She couldn’t help but think that the boy in front of her was very attractive.“Hi.” They simply gazed at each other, their initial greetings hanging in the air. A sudden cough beside her broke the silence. She looked over at Newt, whose knowing smile seemed to hint at some secret he wasn't sharing, then turned her gaze back to Minho. His playful grin and a glint in his eye had a way of making her heart beat faster. She couldn't help but return a shy smile of her own, feeling a warmth spread through her as their eyes met.“Shebean? Where’d you get that Minho?” Newt snickered and looked at the girl beside him. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re twins.” Minho stated, arms crossed before him, looking back and forth at the two. She couldn’t say anything to protest, not wanting to get her hopes up, she tried not to get caught with his words. She also hadn’t seen her reflection well in the mirror earlier in the Med Hut. She was too focused on treating herself. “What do I look like?” She spoke up, confusion was laced on her words as it rolled off her tongue. Glancing up at Minho and Newt, who was now standing before her. Minho smirked, his eyes glinting with a playful challenge. “I think you’re the same age as us, so perhaps 16? 17?”Newt began to speak but paused, looking over at Minho. Minho was rubbing his chin thoughtfully, his brow furrowed as he delved into deep contemplation.“So.. you only guess your age?” She whispered, her head tilting to the side.“We don’t have any ways to confirm, so we only have the chance to guess.” Noticing her face fall, Minho hummed, carefully thinking of a way to cheer her up.“Well, you are a redhead.” Minho playfully bantered. When her lips curved into a smile, he felt a swell of pride in his chest.“I can see that.” She laughed, looking at her hair once more, playing with it with her fingers, a habit. Minho just smiled at her. “You have hazel eyes,” He remarked, and his gaze lingering on her face. “but they have hints of green in them.” He paused, they both held eye contact. She absentmindedly ran her fingers through her hair, feeling the smooth strands slide between her fingertips.“You have freckles, a bunch. And you have a button nose.” Newt chimed in with a grin. “Oh…” She smiled to herself, creating an image in her mind, maybe looking at the water tomorrow would work, she could see her reflection. “Come on, Shebean. Let’s get the bonfire party started!” Minho smirked as he glanced back at the crowd. “Whoooooooh!!!” The roars and cheers of the Gladers echoed through the Glade as dusk settled over the clearing. The Keepers, faces illuminated by the glow of their flaming torches, hurled them high into the air. Each torch arced gracefully before landing with a soft thud, marking the beginning of the long-awaited celebration.Around the cackling bonfire, groups of Gladers huddled close to each other, their faces lit up and warm by the fire. As the night grew longer, it was followed by echoes of laughter and friendly banter. The scent of burning wood mingled with the joyful chatter, creating a lively atmosphere that echoed through the Glade.Amidst the lively atmosphere, she found herself sitting down on one of the logs, quite farther away from the bunch. She heard the sound of footsteps on the grass, and she looked up to the face of Minho, who had a smile on his face, with two glasses of whatever, approaching her.“Hey. Do you mind if I sit here?” He asked, looking down at her for approval. To which she smiled to and tapped the space beside her. Minho took the opportunity and sat beside her.As he sat down, he offered a cold drink that looks a faint pink, swirling the glass to her, to which she took gladly and gave him a grin. With him, it was easy to let her guard down, it was too fast to say, but she felt safe around him. “Thanks. What’s this?” She looked at Minho who was beside her now. They were close, but not too close. “Fruit juice, I don’t think you’d really like this.” He nodded to the drink in his hand, which looks like a beer of some sorts. “You guys make fruit juice? Really?” She gaped, looking back to the ivy-covered walls.“Not much, I took some from Frypan’s kitchen.” He took a sip of his drink. “What is it?” She questioned, head tilting at the drink in his hand. “This? It’s Gally’s secret recipe. That guy over there.” He looked back and pointed at the group that was beginning to grow, seeing the guy who was in the middle of it, that was Gally. “Wanna try? Curiosity kills the cat though.” He sassed, which she looked at him agape. Minho handled the glass to her, taking the fruit juice out of her hand. She first sniffed the drink, and maybe it was a mistake, her mouth opened, and closed. She took a small sip out of it and her throat burned. “What the hell is in that?!” She coughed, shoving back the glass in Minho’s hand. He laughed at her reaction, throwing his head back with a small hint of red on his cheeks. She blushed at the sight and looked away, taking the juice out of Minho’s hand and taking a sip.
Sweet.
“You’re right, I do like this one more.” She looked at him and giggled softly, looking at the drink in her hands. “Glad you do,” Minho smirked with pride, knowing to himself that she’d enjoy it. Looking back at the ivy on the walls. She tried not to question more, but it was getting really hard, but before her voice could find its way…“Shebean! Minho! What are you guys doing out here?? Come on! She’s the star of the night! She should meet people!” Minho and her looked back at Newt who was walking towards them, also having Gally’s drink in hand.
Eurgh… never tasting that again.
Minho rose effortlessly, his athletic build apparent in the way he moved. He glanced down at her with a gentle smile, extending his hand toward her. She accepted it confidently, their fingers intertwining briefly. For a short second, they were holding hands, as they walked together, but she quickly retracted her hand away from embarrassment. Newt got a glimpse of it, but he didn’t say anything. Minho rubbed the back of his neck, a smirk tugging his lips as he stretched his arms around, loosening the tension around his upper body from a long day. Looking forward to the group huddled over at the bonfire. They were all shouting over at each other. In contrast, her steps were quiet, her mind lost in a maze of thoughts, much like a fawn unaware of its surroundings and paying no heed to its path, she stumbled forward.Minho tried to take her arm to catch her from falling towards the pit, but she fell into the hands of Gally, who looked down at her. The cheers were getting louder. “Shebean wants to fight!” “Ohhhh! Here it goes!!” “Gally! Are you going to go easy on her??” Gally looked at the crowd, and back at her who aggressively took her arms out his hands, shaking the dirt off her pants as she looked at him.
I have to fight him.
“I’m not gonna fight a girl!” Gally protested, arms crossed over his chest, like it’s some kind of joke to throw around. The shouts were growing even louder. Her brows furrowed. Why not?“You can choose someone to take your place, Shebean.” The Gladers howled, raising their hands up in the air, wanting to get picked by the girl. “I’ll do it.” Sounds of disbelief and disappointment were in the air, and soon it was silent.“You heard her.” Her head turned toward Minho, who had spoken, sipping from his glass and meeting her gaze directly, breaking the silence.“Fine. She said so.” Gally put on a stern look over his face, he planted his feet at the ground, his shoulders were squared and his arms were at his side. She instinctively did the same. “Don’t hold back.” She said to him, a smirk had crawled on her face. Without warning, Gally charged forward, aiming to throw her off her back, she dodged to the side and jabbed him on the shoulder. “Whooooooh!! Let’s go!” She heard cheers from every corner, she felt the adrenaline rush through her as she smirked even more. Gally grunted in surprise, it was always his style to do that, it didn’t work on her. He recovered with a sweeping kick aimed at her legs, she wasn’t fast enough and hit her body to the ground. She hit her head, but she recovered quickly, standing up and facing Gally once again. “I could do this all day.” She smirked, ignoring the sting on her forehead. From saying that, the cheers and applause of the gladers seemed to grow louder by the second. Gally charged once more, but she dodged again, and countered with an uppercut, aimed to his chin. The blow landed cleanly, and Gally groaned as he lost his balance. It felt strangely familiar, as though she had been trained for this exact moment, her instincts guiding her with precision and confidence. In that moment, she didn’t know who she was, or how she knows how to do this. It was the feeling again that she felt in the Med Hut. The girl being puzzled at her own knowledge that she wasn’t even aware of.
Who was I?
Gally staggered in disbelief, he didn’t have time to process more as she swept his leg out from under him with ease, Gally hit the ground with a groan. He was down for a few seconds. “Shebean wins!!!” Alby roars and all the Gladers cheered for her. Clapping her shoulders, Minho looked down and smiled at her. “You did absolutely amazing.” He complimented her, and Newt nodded too. “No Greenie has done that before.” Newt chuckled and glanced at Gally who was finally up. She walked over towards him and held her hand out. “That was a good spar.” She beamed, and he took her hand and grinned too. “Haven’t had a fight like that in a while. It hurts to say, but you were good.” Gally had brought down his pride and complimented her. She looked up to Minho and Newt, both of their brows were furrowed. “Shuck, you’re bleeding.” Minho winced as he moved her hair out of her face, her hearing had become static. She brought her hand to her forehead and felt a tingle. When she pulled her fingers away, they were covered in blood.“Oh.” The girl started, looking up to the boys again, her vision started to fill with black spots, her ears were ringing, and her was body swaying, she felt a hand at the lower part of her back, then she blacked out.
