Clown gazed upon the now closed funhouse in awe as the stolen hearts beat as his own. Of course, never could any plan of his go perfectly, and the beating of the stolen hearts and his own- erratic and off kilter just proved his point as he wished things could have turned out differently. He had developed obvious attachments to Branzy.

Attachments he couldn’t bring himself to detach from.

And at this point, Clown

would’ve

admitted that his incredibly

unplatonic

feelings for Branzy might be growing to something more.ClownPierce may be a famed killer with remarkable bloodlust but he could never bring himself to taint the redstone engineer’s seemingly innocent smile that Branzy gave Clown everytime Branzy saw him- or the harmless redstone stained hands Clown would take notice of when Branzy worked on the wiring underneath the funhouse with another kind of red.

Now that everything’s said and done- Clown gets to watch Branzy pack up his belongings from the place he thought would be their home.

He lets Branzy leave.

What else could he do?

Clown watches that familiar silhouette disappear from his sights into the sunsets and strangely- he feels the familiar sting of betrayal. Branzy was never his but it seems his mind has already thought of him as so.

It felt as if BranzyCraft had taken Clown’s heart with him and yet- he had left so abruptly, Clown never had the chance to take it back or have Branzy’s in return.

It felt unfair.

…And Clown always

despises

when he gets the bad end of the deal, a phenomenon that even Branzy wouldn’t receive an exception from.

―――

Clown could only handle Branzy’s absence for a few days before he started to formulate a plan. He had been originally planning to build the casino by himself, but Branzy’s skills and talent would prove to be useful! Sure, these changes were definitely made just to fulfil Clown’s unnecessary worry about Branzy being out of his sight but still, it would help, looking at it from an objective point of view.

Even if his objective was Branzy.

Fuck. Clown was thinking emotionally. He thought he stopped all those years ago when he first stepped foot into the grasslands of LifeSteal- that was dirtied with blood and fallen former allies-, but Branzy was here and ruining everything.

Not that Clown truly minded.

Rationally. He had to think rationally.

Branzy would be useful. His redstone would definitely make building the casino much easier than if Clown did it alone. The chances of him getting Branzy to help was much higher than MrCube’s

- working with another engineer made Clown feel like he was being unfaithful-

Clown cut off that line of thought; logical, he had to stay

logical

.

Frustrated yet excited, Clown picked up his communicator and his fingers moved on autopilot- calling to hear the voice of a certain white haired engineer.

Clown would be calm, his thoughts will be well-reasoned, he will not fall down the rabbit hole of fluttering butterflies in his stomach and erratic heartbeats, something as unbefitting like emotions shouldn’t-

wouldn’t

blind ClownPierce-

-Branzy responded almost immediately.

Branzy speaks in sugar and dulcet tones- a hint of a smile heard through the lulls in his voice. Clown drinks it up like a parched man travelling the deserts because he’s smitten.  So smitten that he couldn’t deny it to himself any longer.

How could just something as simple as a voice reduce ClownPierce’s defence into

crumbs

?

Clown hears the delightful chirpy voice and none of the contents, for Branzy had lost ClownPierce’s attention the moment he agreed to work for him again.

Perhaps, the consequences of growing attached to Branzy was sanguine, this time it would be a reward to ClownPierce instead of never ending pain.

ClownPierce belatedly realises loving Branzy is a reward in itself.
