Work Text
In the rugged roads of a rural town, there lived three brothers. Three brothers who’ve been together through thick and thin, now working in a small restaurant to earn some money. Ever since their parents died at a young age, the brothers had to work harder in order to make a living. Eclipse, the eldest brother and the ringleader of the little circus he’s made. Cunning, charismatic, the one in charge of anything that happened in the household just like the older brother he is. But ever since they had to leave that house behind, he’s been working under other managers. And boy did he not like being told what to do. Especially from layabouts, the ones who don’t put any effort into anything. Gold eyes would glare daggers at his bosses. And now he’s the “humble” chef of the rotten kitchen of the restaurant. With his long orangey hair tied firmly into a bun, he’s currently cooking as much as he can. With the little food that was available.Moon, the second eldest, was not the most friendly person you would meet. He always kept to himself as he rather not talk to people. Piercing red eyes like his usually keeps those around him away, a sign of trouble if one would engage with him. Though he was reserved, he was considered the brains of the three. Any problems that passed by was answered with some sort of rationale crafted by him, often acting as the voice of reason. So what reason would suggest that he would have to wash dozens upon dozens of disgusting dishes? Money. So tying his noir black hair up and rolling his sleeves, he prepares for the worst. Finally, Sun, the youngest. Always radiated an infectious joy that seemed to defy the troubles of the world, all with a smile. He brought laughter and levity wherever he went, no matter the job. There’s always a bounce in his step and a song in his head as if he’s walking on sunshine. His brothers may think he’s a little carefree; especially for their situation, but that negativity won’t stop he cheerful, happy-go-lucky spirit. Hence why he’s a waiter, an outgoing personality like that is perfect for the guy. Fluffy golden curls bounce with each step as he makes his way to a man at a booth.“Good morning friend, I hope you’re having a wonderful day today.” Sun greets said man with a smile as he hands him a menu. “Anything you’d like?” (You can imagine what he looks like idc) “A nice cold beer would be good.” The man responded as Sun writes that down. “And some hot cakes.” “Coming right up!” Sun smiled as walked back to the counter, clipping the order to the right side. He skipped along to the next customer who walked in. You see, the brothers may not have it all yet, but they sure can get a head start somewhere. Their differences make each part of a plan work and nothing’s going stop them from making a living.Right? While waiting for the food to come out, a whistle blows from the side of the restaurant. A black cab drives up to the restaurant, inside was a man. The mail man, Oswald, or Ozzy for short. The whistle alerted Sun, who had an ecstatic look on his face as he ran to the car. Finally! Today’s the day! Today’s the day! “Ozzy!” Sun waved excitedly, almost tripping over his feet while doing so. The sweet old mail man waved back, a smile mimicking the sunny server. While Ozzy was still in the car, Sun still gave him a hug from the side. Boy was he happy to see him. “Have you got it? Have you? Oh tell me you do!” Sun’s beautiful blue eyes gleamed as he jumped on the side of the car making it rock back and forth like a boat. “Quit jumping for a minute and let me look.” Ozzy warn the man. He didn’t want his car to tip over. The man looked into the back seat, where the bag of letters billowed out. He sorted through them a little slowly. Sun didn’t want to be rude but the anticipation was killing him. “Here let me help.” He started shifting through the bag, letters falling out and flying away. Ozzy tried to catch the stray letters. He knew the golden-hair goofball gets excited easily, like a kid on Christmas he jumps for joy. But who wouldn’t? This check was gonna change the brothers’ lives forever. Now if only he could find it. “Is it in there? Is it in there?”“Now, boy!”“If the letter's here, it's here!”“Your looking won't put it here!”“Please hurry, Ozzy.” Both men claw, sift, and sort through the letters. Where is it?!“It'd be addressed to one of your brothers?”“Yes, to Eclipse.””Mister Eclipse Stellato?”“Oh, please, please, please, please.” Sun pleaded. He hoped that the check was here. It’s been weeks after the brothers heard that the will of an old friend, who died recently. Supposedly, they were friends with the brothers’ parents and owned an estate near their old home. The money was supposed to go to their parents, but ever since they passed, the money was to be sent to the them. “Here. Here it is!” Sun pulled out a yellowed envelope, a joyful smile grew on his face. The destined letter was in the younger brother’s clutches. He checked to make sure it was from the right person. Yep! All clear. “Oh thank you Ozzy!” Sun gave the humble mail man one final hug. While he might be the shortest of the three, he makes up for it with an unusual amount of strength. Ozzy chokes out a “you’re welcome” before fixing himself. The car backs out the restaurant as Sun happily runs into the kitchen. “Eclipse! Moon! Look it’s here!” The happy shrills of Sun echoed through the kitchen. Moon and Eclipse stopped working as they faced their younger brother, who almost tripped over his feet again. “What is it Sun? Don’t you have customers to serve?” Eclipse chided. He can’t have his brother distracted by anything. Neither can he distract them. Any moment that his brothers aren’t working means their hours wouldn’t be counted and they wouldn’t get paid. Eclipse never really liked working; and he didn’t like to be looked at as a stickler, but the streets aren’t really that warm and welcoming as a cramped apartment. “Oh they can wait but here. Open it!” Sun handed the letter to the oldest. Eclipse yanked it out of his hand while Moon analyzed it. His eyes widened in disbelief. “It came today?!” Moon asked Sun. “Mhm!” He nodded. “Ozzy brought it in.” The sound of ripping paper made Sun focus on the yellow letter of destiny. He whined as Eclipse struggled to open a piece of it. “Come on hurry, ‘Clipse.”“Alright alright don't hurry me. Don't get me excited.” Eclipse huffed as he open the letter and skimmed through the text. “Um, "According to the final will...therewith, therefore and whereas-" “”Oh get to the point quick Clipsy!” Sun urged.“How much is our legacy?” Moon added.“All right. Here it is.” Eclipse cleared his throat. “And your share of the estate...to be divided equally with you and your brothers…” He stopped.“Well what is it?””What’s the matter?”“$55,000!” Eclipse shouted. He looked at the number. Once, twice, thrice! Just look at those zeros.“55,000!” Sun gaped. He couldn’t believe it. None of the boys couldn’t believe.“I knew it! I knew it! I knew it'd be that much!” Well, maybe Eclipse had a hunch a while back. But Sun didn’t and Moon didn’t care as they danced around with each other around the cluttered kitchen. Finally! Their lives would change. For better instead of worse! Ha ha! “Well boys, that's the end of that! We’re home free. ” Eclipse unleashed his fiery hair from the oppression of the hair tie. “Moon, how much is a third of 55?” He asked his genius little brother. Moon slowed down and fixed his hair as he tried to calculate their earnings. “A third of five is…” He pondered for a bit. The math calculated in his head as if the numbers swirled around him like planets. “Let's see what it looks like.” Sun scanned through the letter trying to find the amount. “$4,352.86?” He frowns. “Let me see that.” Eclipse yanked the letter out of his younger brother’s hand, Moon looked of his shoulder as he read the reasons for their low allowance."Twelve percent federal tax, six percent state tax, three percent probate tax, $2,500 administrators fees, $4,800 to lawyers and therefore after these deductions the balance is $4,352.86." The brothers scowled. The money that was supposed to change the lives of the three was nothing but a dud. Yes it was a lot, but not enough to exactly thrive. To put it in perspective, each brother would only have around $1450 to spend. What are they going to do with $1450?!“Well…” Moon pulls his hair up again, ready to plunge into the murky waters of the kitchen sink. “So much for that.” He says with defeat. Crushed dreams crunched underneath his feet as he headed for the sink. Eclipse pulled his hair up as well, disappointed in the check that was sent. Sun sulked at the fact that the check wasn’t as much as he wanted. Today’s was supposed to be the day. The day where things were going to be better for him and his beloved brothers. He took the letter, eyeing the bold lettering highlighting the total and all the taxes behind it. He was just about to throw it in the trash until he remembered something…“Wait Moon, aren’t you forgetting?” He turned to his older brother.A little plan he made a while back…“No, Sun. We’re not going to use your plan. We might even lose the 4,000.” A stern look responses to the idealistic blonde.“But we agreed didn't we? That if it was less than 10,000, it was the only thing we could do?” A pleading face emitted from Sun.“Well, I say if we put it out in postal savings at three percent with the good old U.S.A. behind it-““Oh no, Moony. We can't get rich that way.”Eclipse stepped away from the stove after turning it off. Their conversation interrupted the cooking, but peaked his interest. He didn’t know that the little guy had a scheme. Reminded him of the old days; pickpocketing, getting out of the house, escaping from prison perhaps. (Naughty boys 😏) “Your idea is such an awful chance, Sun. It’s crazy!”“Crazy?! What's crazy about marrying a millionaire?”“That Southern Texas Gas and Power Corporation is a mighty nice, safe investment.”“Oh, please Moony.” Sun turned to the eldest, who was leaning over the table with a hand holding up his chin and a smirk on his face. “Clipsy, you still want to go through with it, don't you?” Sun doesn’t remember that he never told his plan to Eclipse. It’s fine, he got the jist of it.“Well~, I didn’t know you could be a little devil. And here I thought you were the golden child.” Eclipse teased. Which was an answer Sun didn’t accept. “Clipse.” Sun whined.”Alright, I’m all for it.” He wrapped an arm around his younger brother. “Been a while since we’ve had any fun. Besides, it's just as easy to fall in love with a millionaire as it is with a truck driver.”“Yeah, just like the 50 truck driver outside waiting for you for service.” Mr. Donald Deans, their manager, scolds as he enters the kitchen. Deans wasn’t one for waiting, especially when he has employees to work for him. But honestly, there’s other people, he should really be scolding at them. “Sorry Mr. Deans, we’re—““Quitting!” Sun interrupts Moon’s apology. Deans was in shock. “That's what we're all three doing, Deans. We're resigning! Walking out on you! And we're going to Miami!“Miami?” Deans raised a brow, his teeth grinding against each other. “That's right, Miami. Where rich people are as plentiful as grapefruit and millionaires hang from every palm tree!” Sun pantomimes before leaving the kitchen in a huff.”Come on!” Eclipse and Moon looked at their younger brother, then at each other and smirk. Wet towels smacked against the floor as aprons tie off and hair ties flick the face of the manager.“So long!”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
After their little revolution, the brothers immediately went home. Taking the car back to their cramped apartment near the downtown district. Quitting their jobs was something they would never do without a logical explanation mandated by Moon, but it seemed like the boys ran out of rational excuses and replaced them with idealistic ones mandated by Sun, who’s now deemed the most “delusional” of the three. Doesn’t matter, they’re free and that silly little joint is left in the past. Right now they need to pack for their “business trip”. Eclipse already handed over the check for the 4000 they earned, the money currently stuffed in a white, unlabeled envelope and placed on the desk. Sitting on the singular suitcase, Eclipse waited for his brothers to emerge from their shared bedroom. He’s glad those two got a proper room to sleep in. When Sun was born, his parents had to put the crib in the bathroom because of the lack of space. (Don’t worry Sun knew that) At least he turned out to be a good kid. “Alright, that’s everything.” Said Moon he hauled his suitcase out, followed by Sun with an excited smile on his face. “I can’t wait to go to Miami! You think there’s any chance we could a find a lady for each of us?” Eclipse raised a brow. “I thought having only one of us getting hitched would be enough.” A hand held his head up. “I agree. Three broads running around the same place would be a lot.” Moon adds. “It’ll be safer for one of us running around.” “Ok then—” Sun dropped his suitcase. “I’ll do it.” He said proudly. It was his idea so it’s only fair if he’s was the bachelor. While the argument was sound, Moon and Eclipse didn’t seem to concur with that. “You? You’ll crumble the moment any broad talks to you.” Eclipse teases.“And stutter like an old car engine.” A sly grin emerged from Moon’s face. “Besides, who’s gonna like a guy who’s shorter than a slot machine?” He stands side by side with his younger brother. 6’1 vs. 5’8; it’s clear who won this one. Moon ruffled Sun’s curls in jest. Sun swatted the hand away, upset of his brothers’ teasing. “I’ll do it.” Moon said. Eclipse let out a quick laugh, did he really think he could get away with that? “As if you’re any better. You don’t even like talking to people. Just one look at you and they’ll run away.” Moon scowled as Sun chuckled a little. He may not be a people person but he could have a chance, if the lucky lady ever existed. “I’ll do it.””Tch, as if you’re any better than us.”“I am. I’m tall, dark, and handsome. What every gal dreams of.” Eclipse boasts. Judging by their faces, Eclipse’s younger brothers didn’t seem to agree to that idea either. In reality, they all wanted a dame as Sun said; the perfect wife for each of them. But brothers all struggle when it comes to love. Moon’s introverted personality doesn’t bode well with crowds, nor does his appearance make him look charming. Sun may have a heart of gold and a way with people but the mere sight of a beautiful woman alone would make him turn red. His balance would be lost and his tongue would grew five times its size. Eclipse had charmed some women in the past, but committing to a real relationship…that’s something out of his league. Silence’s mist flowed through the room as the question hung in the air like a helium balloon. Who would be the rightful bachelor to this ruse of theirs? Clearly they can’t decide, so Eclipse had a better idea. “We’ll pick sticks.”“Can’t believe I got the short end of the stick again.” Sun huffed as he carried the bulky luggage down the street. He was already sweating under the summer heat, the black suit he wore didn’t help as it was soaking up the perspiration. In front of him was Moon, who donned a navy blue suit, a fedora and red glasses. He ignored the cries of his younger brother and sprinted off to catch up to Eclipse. The fake bachelor was chatting with someone while he waited for the other two to arrive. “Ah there they are.” Eclipse welcomed the incoming noirette and the tired blonde. “This right here is Mr. Maurice Lunargrove, my secretary.” An arm wraps around Moon’s left shoulder in jest, his glasses slipped while a hand held the fedora up. “Maurice, this is Mr. Dyson Jules, head of this resort.” Dyson smiles at the man as he greets him with the same energy. “How do you do.””How do you do.” Moon muttered. Goodness was he not good with people. And he hated his pseudonym; what the heck kind of name is “Maurice”?!”Secretary huh? Can’t keep up with yourself Stellato?””I am a busy man.” Eclipse jest.”You must have it rough with all those schedules.” Dyson looks to Moon, who was too deep in thought to respond quickly. “Uh-yeah. Yes it is.” He fumbled. But before Dyson could continue, the sound of heavy luggage collided with the concrete sidewalk. With it is a collapsed Sun, panting exhaustion. Luckily, the bellboys arrived to safe him the trouble, the cart picking up the luggage and carrying it inside.“Oh right, I almost forgot my loyal servant.” Eclipse helped Sun to his feet as he dusted off the sand of the sidewalk. “Mr. Jules, my butler Mr. Sullivan Sonnenberg.” He patted his messy hair. “Ever hardworking he is.” He gleamed. Sun greeted the manager with a tired but steady voice. Dyson was about to start another conversation before Moon stepped in. “I think it’s time for you to head to your room, Mr. Stellato. Before it gets dark.” Gritted teeth seethed the final words of his warning. Eclipse huffed quietly at his brother’s impromptu action; oh how he hated small talk.”I’m afraid he’s right Jules. Can’t have ourselves burning daylight. I’ll be seeing you.” Gripping his side, Moon walked with Eclipse inside. “Aw~. Someone’s shy~.””Shut your trap and keep walking.”“Put ‘em in the bedroom.” Eclipse ordered the bellboys. The room was lavish and comfortable. The walls were painted a plain but serene blue. The curtains were open, revealing the sunset skies. The living room had all the fine furniture you could think of, marble tables, chairs made with exotic wood, tiles shinier than crystals. Stuff that only the boys could dream of. “Miami…” Sun said as if he was walking in a dream. Looking at the window, the light of the sun glows through. His hair turn gold, resembling the celestial body he was named after. “Yeah, this is some joint!” Moon comments. A little too loudly in fact. Eclipse clears his throat and a shot a glance at his younger brother. “Maurice, take care of the bellboys, will you?””Sure thing Mr. Stellato.” Moon satires, an eye roll was caught in the act. Eclipse waltz himself into the bedroom. It had similar luxurious features as the living room with the bed as the centerpiece. The ornate headboard emblazoned warping branches of the wood it was used to make it. The bed look incredible soft and pillowy, like sweet pound cakes. In a couple of minutes, Sun managed to meander through the foyer and into the master bedroom. “Is this our room?!” Sun flopped on the bed as a moan of delight emitted from him. “Mmm..so soft.””Ay! Shoo! Get off! This room’s mine.” Eclipse shooed the youngest out of his bed. He hoped the bellboys didn’t hear him yelling at his employee. Can’t have his image ruined. “Yours is in there.” He pointed to another door in the room, to which Sun followed and opened. Meanwhile Moon came inside after dealing the bellboys. “Those chumps are finally gone.” He noticed only his big brother was here. “Where’s Sun?” “I’m in here Moony!” Just as Moon said his name, he cried. Following the golden voice, the elder brothers were met with a smaller but still opulent room. Two smaller beds were set side by side, each equipped with the same pillows and bed sheets. The only difference was a certain blonde laying down on one of them. “Having fun?” Moon asked teasingly as he sits on the unoccupied bed. “What’s next on this plan of yours?””I thought I wasn’t the bachelor?””Don’t tell me that’s all you thought of.” “Settle down you two. I have something.” Eclipse assured his brothers. “There’s a little shindig happening here and I plan on sneaking out.” A toothy little smirk was on his face. “And you glared at me for calling this place a joint in front of those bellboys.” Moon muttered. *Knock Knock Knock* “I’ll get that.” Sun hurried out the room for the door, leaving the two men to wondering who it is. “Champagne for Mr. Stellato?” A friendly voice answered. Both brothers peaked their heads out from Eclipse’s master bedroom. A woman dressed in a maid outfit spoke to Sun, who was currently confused by the suddenly arrival. “Huh?” Uh oh. Sun’s freezing up again. Quickly Eclipse stepped in before his baby brother gets tongue tied and makes a fool of himself.”Good evening dear.” Eclipse greets. “Compliments of Ms. (Y/N) (L/N).”“Really? And, uh, who is Mrs. (L/N)?”“She’s the lady who lives across the court in bungalow "A".”“Oh. Did he see me arrive?”“No, she just told me to take care of everybody.”“Oh.”“She's the one giving the party. You might have heard it.“Sure we have.” Moon added. “Sounds like quite a clambake.” Sun commented happily before covering his mouth in fright. Eclipse chuckled sheepishly before commanding Sun to fetch the glasses.“A party like that must be costing Mrs. (L/N) a small fortune.” Moon thought out loud. He saw the prices of this resort. Absolutely bonkers!“To her, a mere pittance.” The maid quips. Even though all the brothers knew that the amount of a pittance isn’t the same for the woman. Sun cames back with the glasses as a the woman poured each men a drink. “Does, uh, Mr. (L/N) like it?” Eclipse swirls the champagne.“There ain't no Mr. (L/N).” …Those five word sparked something in the brothers. Not only was the host a woman, but single. And incredibly rich! Jackpot!”Well. To Ms. (L/N)!” “To Ms. (L/N)!” The brothers toasted and drank.…Sun and Moon both choke on the champagne. Eclipse drinks it with ease. (Experienced ✨) “Are they alright?””Oh they’re just lightweights.” Eclipse says mirthfully. “Thank you for the champagne miss…?””Claire Barker. And you’re welcome Mr. Spazio.” Claire said politely before leaving. “Yeesh…Can’t believe this is what the rich drink.” Moon pours the rest of the champagne down the kitchen sink. “Oh forgot that! Did ya hear what she said?! (Y/N) (L/N), the lady a few doors down, isn’t taken!” Sun smiled. “This is your chance Clipsy!” “Exactly. Which is why…” Eclipse eyes the note attached to the bottle. Just his luck; a phone number was written on it. Taking the card, heading for the phone and dialed the number. “I’m invited her.””You’re inviting her to her own party?” Moon raised a brow.”A party’s better if you had a date.” Eclipse held the phone. Silence entered the room. “Hello?”..“Hello, Ms. (L/N)”…“Mr. Stellato.”…“Yes, I just arrived today. Bungalow "C".”…“No, no. We've never met. I would like to thank you for that champagne you sent, Ms. (L/N) and I was wondering if…you come over tonight.” Sun and Moon looked at their older brother with shock.…”That is if you have the time…”…“Well then, Bungalow "C". Yes.” Eclipse hung up the phone with a grin on his face. His brothers didn’t mimic it though. ”You asked her to come her?!””What were you thinking?!””Relax you two. This is all still part of the plan.” Eclipse fixed his suit. “Now go get dressed. I’ve got a date.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“Come on. We've got to get these suits. Sun, straighten your tie. Moon, fix your glasses. I don't want you two to look better than me.” Eclipse ordered as he sorts through his suitcase, looking for the perfect outfit for his little date.“Must be an awful drip if she's that rich and nobody's bothered to grab her off. She’s probably something Sun wouldn't even marry, and he’d marry almost anybody.” Moon comments as he helps pick up the ties falling out the luggage. “You’re just jealous because I hooked myself up with a broad with only a few words.” Eclipse remarked as he took his time dressing himself in a new suit. This was a more of mauve color than the original suit, accompanied by a pinstripe pants and a little bronze sun pin. “How do I look?” “Like a guy who’s about to get swindled.” Moon smirked. Eclipse huffed at his response. He was not in the mood for games tonight. A knock on the door alerted the two, making Eclipse brush up his hair and dust his coat. “Let her in, Sun!””Alright big brother!” Sun hastily walked to the door, about to let the lucky lady in.“I bet she’s an old hag.” Said Moon.”Oh shut up and get your book!” Eclipse commanded. He can’t his brother ruin this night. Sun dusted himself off one final time before opening the door. When he saw who was on the other side, he gaped. A woman with a gorgeous forest green dress, diamond earrings and a gold necklace appeared outside like magic. She looked fairly young, not an old hag like Moon thought. Sun blushed, by god was she beautiful. “Hello. Are you Mr. Stellato?” Her fair voice asked. Sun couldn’t think straight. “I’m Ms. (L/N).” She introduced herself.”Um…uh…” Sun stuttered. “C-C-Come in.” He stepped back to widen the door, almost tripping over while doing so. Ms. (L/N) thanked him as she made herself at home, taking a moment to look around the bungalow. Sun took a moment to look at Ms. (L/N). As said before, he couldn’t think straight, but deep down he knew this lady was a woman of god. As Ms. (L/N) daydreamed for a bit, she bumped into someone. An annoyed grunt and the sound of plastic falling snapped her out of her thoughts. Looking down she saw beautiful red glasses and picked them up, coming face to face with a tall, dark-haired man, whose once vexing look now turned soft. “Here.” She gave the glasses back. “You Mr. Stellato?”The noirette, Moon, cleaned his glasses before putting them back. “Sadly, I’m not.” He said with a neutral expression.”Ms. (L/N)?” A velvety tone appeared as a redhead with golden eyes leaned against the bedroom door.“Mr. Stellato.” Ms. (L/N) elegantly walked over to her date, admiring his features like a panoramic view. “I hear you invited me to my own party?””Indeed I did. You can’t host a party without a partner by your side.” Eclipse held her hand and leaned over to kiss it. Such a gentleman Ms. (L/N) thought to herself. “It’ll only be for a little while. I have to get up early tomorrow.””That’s alright Doll~. A little while is all I need.” The couple walked to the door. Sun, regaining some focus back, held the door open for them. “Good night you two!” Eclipse shouted. Sun peaked out the door, watching the two. Well…watching (Y/N) really. The door slowly closed shut, leaving the younger brothers alone. “Hmph. She’s looked better than I thought.””Y-Yeah…’Clipsy sure is lucky.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
In the mystery of the night, the resort patio lights illuminated the pathways in and out of the rooms. The palm trees sway slowly with the cool breeze, the smell of the ocean carried with the wind. Chilly, but not too cold now. Hand in hand, Eclipse and (Y/N) have a delight chat together; why it's only been a few minutes and they already sound like a lovely couple. "So, what do people call you Miss (L/N) when they get to know and love you? I imagine the process is more or less automatic." Eclipse asked. (Y/N) laughed sweetly. Was she charmed, or just chuckling about his little quip at the end."(Y/N)." She answered. "And what do I call the man with the audacity to invited me to my own party?" She quipped back, stunning Eclispe for a bit. The girl's got sass now does she? Eclipse chuckled back as he answered with his own name. "Edwin. Edwin Stellato." Having his own joke handed back to him from a broad makes him smile, and a little hot 'n bothered. The two made it to the lanai, where multiple people sleep in the soft chairs near the entrance. Couples lay next to each other, doused in the sand of the Sandman. The lights shine brighter here now that the present of a dance floor, a band, tables and chairs with umbrellas closed since the sun wasn't gone."Just a few friends that dropped in." (Y/N) let Eclipse inside a foyer were multiple people slept in the chairs; their conversation ended a long time ago. "Just a few friends that dropped, period. You want to talk to them? I'll wake 'em up." (Y/N) quickly moved from Eclispe's grasp to shake her friends away."Oh no not now. They look so peaceful. Let's not disturb them." Eclipse laid a gentle hand on the poor woman's shoulder. "I know what you must think. They're really just exhausted. They're still alive out here." He coaxed her to the center of the party, the outdoor dance hall. (Y/N)'s disappointed melted off like butter on a hot pan as a smile rid her face again. The music lighten the mood of the slow moving night. The couples who were still awake waltz along with each other, swaying with the rhythm of the palm trees. Everyone looked so ritzy. Eclipse felt that he'd fit in well. Probably better than his younger brothers. "Shall we dance?" A hand was given to the fair maiden by his side. "Of course." The maiden smiled. With fingers clutching each other and a hand placed on a hip and shoulder, the two sway to the music. Sweet, loving eyes connect with golden ones. (Y/N) smiled at the gentleman. Eclispe tried to bubble up a question to start another conversation but (Y/N) beat him to it."Have you ever been here in Miami before?""No, never in my years. In fact I got lost here along the way." said Eclipse."Sounds like you in a map.""I think a tour guide would be better." A hand swiped over a strand of hair on (Y/N)'s face. She chuckled at the quip again before staring into the warm gold lovingly again. "Too bad all the tour guide here are con men. Trying to get your clams and leaving you in alley alone." (Y/N) added. Sounds like she speaks from experience. "$500 stolen in a second. And a dress drenched by the rain.""Sounds like you had a run-in with the wrong guy." said Eclipse. It takes a con artist to know one. It's sickening to see poor women swindled these days. That's why he only steals from men, and leaves the false charisma to the ladies. He never stole money or jewelry, only the hearts of dames and dolls alike. Then disappear in a flash, leaving them dazed and confused. Better than poor and unhappy. "So what is it that you do Ms. (Y/N)?" Eclispe changed the subject. "I'm not really interested in that." (Y/N) looked down. "Talking about business bores me." A dame not into business huh? Probably born with a silver spoon. Her daddy must be the one in charge then. "I rather pop champagne and cut room floor.""Ah like to jive don't we?" Eclipse said cheekily."Why of course. Music is my life. I'd be dead if I didn't put the gramphone on." (Y/N) laughed at her own quip. Speaking of music, the music stopped. The band started packing up their instruments, looks like their shift's over. (Y/N) looked toward the departing band in confusion. If music was her life, she'd be on life support now. "What's going on?""I'm sorry, Ms. (Y/N) The union won't allow us to play longer than 16 hours." said the pianist."Oh. When's the next shift come on?" Eclipse asked."The other band oughta be here any minute. Sorry.""That's all right." The pianist lefted along with his band members, deserting the night-owls with no music. (Y/N) grimaced, and all that talk about loving to party and music. "Well it's late anyways. I don't want you to fall sleep during your time here." She spoke to Eclipse, the words were laced with disenchantment; which is horrible since she's so enchanting. Eclispe can't have her leaving so soon now. Why they just started to get to know each other, and the night is still young."Who said that this party was over?" He smirked as his headed over to the piano. "Edwin, you know how to play piano?""'Course I do." Eclipse had to teach himself piano for a joint right before he got the job a the grease bucket in Texas. According to the many people who visited, the music was gas. It's been a while though, let's see if he still got it. A few keys were pressed, helping the new pianist find the scale of an old song.
(The song cuz I'm not one for songfics too much.)
Once the little piano found the rhythm, (Y/N) jived to the new, more lively music. As said before, she loved to dance, and cutting a rug was what she was doing. The cognizant couples joined the revived ritz and the once somnolent rose from their slumber, startled by the new fangle noise. In other words, we're cooking with gas. Some men headed to the deserted instruments to assist the neo-pianist left alone on stage. Guests danced along the rhythm, some were jive bombers like (Y/N), others were real dead hoofers. Duckin’ and divin’, blippin’ and jivin’, hopping and singing, tapping and swinging. Everyone was awake now. But Eclipse's eyes were on (Y/N), who was currently dancing with a bum. He swiftly led another man play the baby blue piano for him and made his through the crowd. A tap on the shoulder alerted the old geezer. "I think take it from here sir.""Ay wait your turn now son. I'm having a lull here.""Well, uh, personally, I wouldn't mind a little lull with Miss (L/N)." Said Eclipse. Such way that made (Y/N) smile and the bum scowl. A suave hand enclosed the space between the two, briskly moving away from the bum with the chrome dome. The two danced; swinged to the music. The other couples must've noticed something, because the crowd clears away for the two. They leave the floor to the joyful pair. Eclipse didn't know why the misters and misses moved for the them, until (Y/N) showed him why. See, a guy like Eclipse really was not one for dancing. Sure he'll waltz with a dame for a bit, but nothing to serious. What didn't help was that (Y/N) was a dancer. Professionally is still up in the air. But whatever it takes, especially since that he looked like a complete idiot standing there. Matching the dame's rhythm, the two danced the night away. The newfound audience watched from the background, a show illuminating brighter than the artificial lighting of the resort. (Y/N) was having fun. Eclipse was having fun. It was just for show though.Once the song ended, (Y/N) took a bow like a performer on stage. Incredibly proud of her performance and beloved by all. Eclipse though took her hand again. "Tonight was a wonderful night Ms. (L/N)." He kissed it with the upmost chastity and chivalry. (Y/N) blushed slightly at the sight. Meanwhile, Claire arrived with a white shawl in hand, for the lovely lady on her right. "Well I had a wonderful partner to past the time." She retorts. "Shall I walk you back to your bungalow?" "Oh no thank you Mr. Stellato. I know my way back." (Y/N) took the shawl from Claire's hand and wrapped herself up. "Besides, I don't want you to get lost." She winked. Sly fox ain't she? Eclipse hasn't met a woman with spunk since his mother died. Looks like he's got to try harder to woo her. (Y/N) had already made it to her bungalow before she could speak with Eclispe for one last time, "goodnight Mr. Stellato" was the final words before entering her temporary humble abode. Which left Eclipse walking alone. He thought for a bit. What a night. First impressions could do many things for a person, that's why they're always important. She did blushed at him kissing her hand, but she also emphasized the gall he had inviting her to her own party.Ah forget about it. Tomorrow's a new day and he can't sleep with all this buzz in his head. He's not like Sun anyways. Speaking of which, that boy better be in bed, and his brother too. Moon's know to stay awake in the dead of night. He can't have him bumping in the night. Finally, bungalow C.

"Ooo how was it?""Was she a drag?"Did you kiss?""Did you scare her off?""Get to bed you two." Eclipse ordered his brothers softly. He's was too tired for storytelling. He promised the boys the whole spiel tomorrow, for tonight was over.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The morning sun glimmered through the windows of the bungalow. Threes knocks on the door alerting the bulter to open it for the servant and his trolley of food. The three brothers ate breakfast as the eldest recapped his younger siblings of the extravagnet night. "That's it? You just danced with her and left?" Moon frowned."Well I kissed her hand, isn't that something?" Eclipse argued."She must've thought you were a dreamboat." Sun swooned. "Or a stooge." Moon took a bite off his plate. Eclipse shook his head at his moody brother, a small huff of mirth humored him. "So what are you gonna do now?" Sun asked. "I plan on taking her along for a drink, maybe even a ride downtown by the shop.""You're gonna take her shopping? With our money?" Moon raised a brow."Of course. I'd buy her anything she wants." Eclipse smiles."We're gonna be broke by the time you two get back!" "Oh please we'll get the money back once she's hooked. And even more when I get hitched." Eclipse smirked, proud of his plan. All three brothers finished their breakfast and cleaned up afterwards. Eclipse took a hot shower before putting on a more casual suit: all white with the bow being black. A better look that well enough to beat the blazing sun. The hair tie pulled up the loose ginger waves and the mattress pulled up to reveal the money underneath. What? Where else would you store a lot of cash? The drawer? "Well I'm off. You two better get dressed and hold down the fort here alright." Eclipse hastily headed out the door. "I'll be back before 5:00." The door closes in haste."Welp...There goes the last of the rent..." Moon huffed. "I'm heading to the showers. Don't do anything stupid.""Ok." The dead silence surronded the bungalow, leaving the blonde alone with his thoughts. To say out loud of course."Eclipse really is lucky. He's gets to be with Ms. (Y/N) (L/N) all day and night while I have to "hold down the fort"." He frowned. "We can't just stay here and watch the days go by. It's not fair!" He plopped onto the couch in a huff, pouting about having to stay another day inside the bungalow whil his brother gets to have all the fun. He wants to spend the day with Ms. (L/N) too. "If only there's a way to meet her before Eclipse does..."The phone on the table tempted Sun. The card was still on the side when Eclipse called her at the party. "I'll just call her." Sun picked up the phone before setting it back down again. "Wait...she'll think I'm Eclipse." He hummed. "I think I can do a good impression of him." He picked up the phone again, clearing his throat before speaking in the lowest tone he can get."*Ahem* Hello doll~. How would you like to share a drink and waltz the night away? Maybe even, marry me?" Sun deflated. This wasn't gonna work....Wait...If can catch Ms. (L/N) before his brother does, he can have the whole day with her. He could share a drink and waltz the night away. Maybe even marry her. But he's got to get outta here first; and into some better clothes. Hurrying inside the shared bedroom, he opened the closet and fossicked through the jungle of clothes, pulling out a pair of sandy trousers and a red shirt with thin, white, horizontal stripes. He then stripped off the ketchup red pajamas and changed into the causal wear. To piece the outfit together was a simple belt adjusted perfectly to his waist. Moon watched his brother look at himself in the large mirror with incredolous look. "What are you doing?""Hm?""I said what are you doing? Why are you dressed like that?"Sun smiled cheekily. "I'm going on a date." He winked."You got a date? With who?"A giggle emitted from the youngest. "Ms. (L/N) of course." Moon looked at his cheery brother. As the blonde happily skipped out their shared bedroom, the noirette eyed him like he grew a second head. "You're gonna go around the entire hotel just to find one broad?""Yes of course, what's wrong with that?" Sun questioned Moon. And raised a brow when he started laughing."If you think you're gonna find that dame before he does, you better start running. Eclipse already has a head start.""Oh I don't need to worry about that. I'm the fastest of the three of us. I can find her in two seconds flat." Sun declares as he headed towards the door. "You'll see."As he watched his quixotic brother go along with his little scheme, Moon thought about a number of things that could go wrong on this morning. He was always worried for Sun. Eclipse had got his into so many problems before; rowdy gangs, shady jobs, deals made in alleys. Eclipse sold drugs to pay the rent of their small abode after they lost their house. He went to prison after getting caught selling more drugs. Then later needed Moon's help to bust him out of there since bail money was short. Eclipse always says he's done these things for him. To provide for both Moon and Sun. What he [Moon] wants is a peaceful, well-fortuned life for the three of them. What he doesn't want is for any of them to get hurt, or worse. Especially Sun..."Hold on." Sun looked back. A sigh emitted from Moon. "I'm coming with you.""Why?""To make sure you don't fall in the lake or something." Moon huffed.Sun bit his lip. "Fine. But promise me you'll stay out of sight once I find Ms. (L/N). No third-wheeling ok?" Moon nodded, and was soon given a hug by the shorter blonde. "Thanks Moony.""Yeah yeah I know I'm the best brother you ever had." The raven retorted. Sun chuckled at the sarcasm before fixing himself once again. Looking at the clock he started to panic."Come on we're losing daylight!" Said Sun as both brothers rushed out the door.
