Percy Jackson's heart raced as the Manticore loomed before him. The creature, a terrifying blend of lion, dragon, and scorpion, was an adversary unlike any other. Its eyes gleamed with malevolence, and its tail, tipped with a deadly stinger, swayed menacingly.Annabeth Chase stood resolutely beside Percy, her gray eyes locked onto the beast. "We can take him together, Seaweed Brain," she said, her voice steady despite the danger. Her knife glinted in the dim light, ready to strike. Thalia Grace, with her electric spear, and Grover Underwood, clutching his reed pipes, flanked them, forming a united front. The air was thick with tension as they prepared to face the Manticore. The battle erupted in a flurry of movement. The Manticore's tail lashed out, aiming for its targets with deadly precision. Percy parried with Riptide, his celestial bronze sword, deflecting the blows with practiced skill. Annabeth darted in and out, her knife finding openings in the creature's defenses.Thalia's spear crackled with electricity as she struck, and Grover's nature magic created barriers of vines and roots to hinder the Manticore's movements. Despite their combined efforts, the creature was relentless, its strength and speed overwhelming. In the chaos, Percy saw an opening. He lunged forward, aiming for the Manticore's vulnerable underbelly. But just as he struck, the creature's tail whipped around, catching him off guard. The stinger pierced his side, and a searing pain shot through him."Percy!" Annabeth's scream cut through the din of battle as she rushed to his side. Thalia and Grover fought desperately to keep the Manticore at bay, but it was too late. The poison was already coursing through Percy's veins, weakening him. With a triumphant roar, the Manticore seized Percy in its claws.Annabeth reached out, her fingers brushing against his, but the creature took to the sky, lifting Percy away from his friends. Thalia's spear crackled with frustration as she watched helplessly."We have to save him!" Thalia shouted, her voice filled with urgency and determination. Annabeth's eyes were filled with tears, but she nodded resolutely. "We'll find him," she vowed, her voice firm despite the quiver of fear. "We won't let him down."As the Manticore flew higher, Percy struggled to stay conscious. The world around him blurred, but he could still hear the distant, desperate voices of his friends, promising to rescue him. He clung to that hope, knowing that no matter what, they would come for him.---Atlas had been waiting impatiently, tapping his fingers on the stone armrest of his makeshift throne. The Manticore had promised him a powerful demigod, one who could potentially take his place under the weight of the sky. He had anticipated a child of Ares or perhaps a talented offspring of Apollo. Those were strong, but not strong enough to be indispensable to the gods. When the Manticore arrived, dragging a battered and bound figure behind him, Atlas leaned forward with interest. His curiosity turned to shock when he saw the demigod’s face. It was not just any demigod; it was Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. The boy's sea-green eyes were defiant despite the bruises and cuts that marred his face. His presence radiated power, even in his weakened state."Is this a joke?" Atlas growled, rising to his feet. "You bring me the son of Poseidon?" The Manticore grinned, his sharp teeth glinting in the dim light. "No joke, my lord. This is the one who has thwarted our plans time and again. Imagine the chaos when the gods realize he is the one holding the sky."Atlas couldn't believe his luck. A child of the Big Three, and not just any child—Percy Jackson himself. This was more than he had hoped for. With Percy under the sky, the gods would be thrown into disarray, and their plans would be easier to dismantle."Well done," Atlas said, a cruel smile spreading across his face. "Prepare him. The sky awaits."As Percy was dragged to the pedestal, Atlas couldn't help but feel a surge of satisfaction. The tides of war were turning in his favor, and with Percy Jackson as his pawn, victory seemed within reach.Atlas's cruel smile widened as Percy was forced onto the pedestal. The weight of the sky loomed above, an immense and crushing burden that would soon be his to bear."Hold him there," Atlas commanded, his voice like thunder. The Manticore and several other monstrous creatures moved to secure Percy in place, their grips ironclad.Percy struggled, his sea-green eyes blazing with defiance. "I'll never do it willingly," he spat, fighting against his captors.Atlas's eyes gleamed with a sinister light. "You don't have to do it willingly, Percy Jackson. But you will do it, or people will suffer."With a casual wave of his hand, Atlas gestured to the edge of the throne room where images of innocent people, bound and gagged, flickered into view. The sight of them, helpless and terrified, made Percy's heart clench with fury and despair."Let them go!" Percy demanded, his voice cracking with emotion.Atlas laughed, a cold, heartless sound. "Take the sky, and they will be spared. Refuse, and they will be the first to fall in our conquest."Percy looked at the images, their lives hanging in the balance. He knew what he had to do. With a heavy heart, he stepped forward, feeling the crushing weight of the sky begin to press down on him as he took Atlas's place."Good boy," Atlas sneered. "Now, let's see how long you can last."Percy gritted his teeth, the immense burden threatening to overwhelm him. But he held on, driven by the need to protect the innocent. The sky was heavy, but his resolve was stronger.---Percy shifted slightly, the immense weight of the sky pressing down on him. He gritted his teeth, every muscle in his body straining. He could feel the power of the ocean within him, a constant reminder of his heritage. He locked eyes with Atlas, his gaze unwavering."You think this will break me?" Percy’s voice was steady, defiant. "I’ve faced worse."Atlas chuckled, a deep, resonant sound. "You are brave, boy. But bravery alone will not save you."Percy’s eyes narrowed. "I don’t need saving. I’m here to save my friends, my family, and everyone you threaten."With a sudden surge of strength, Percy shifted the weight of the sky, forcing it to stabilize. The cavern trembled, the air thick with the tension of the moment. Atlas realized that he had underestimated the boy.Percy’s resolve only grew stronger. He could feel the power of his father’s realm coursing through him, lending him strength. He would not be broken. He would not yield. He was Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, and he would hold the sky for as long as it took to protect those he loved.---Percy felt the crushing weight of the sky descend upon his shoulders. It was as if the entire universe had decided to rest on him alone. His knees buckled slightly, but he planted his feet firmly into the ground, refusing to be defeated. The air around him shimmered with the weight of the celestial burden, and he could feel every star, every planet pressing down on him."Hold on, Percy," Annabeth's voice echoed in his mind. "Just a little longer."Hours passed, and the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows. The night brought a chilling cold that seeped into his bones, but Percy remained steadfast. He could hear the distant sounds of battle, the clash of swords, and the roars of monsters. He knew his friends were fighting for him, and that gave him strength. The night seemed to stretch on forever. Percy’s muscles screamed in agony, but he focused on his breathing, trying to maintain a steady rhythm. Each breath was a battle, each heartbeat a victory. His thoughts wandered to his family, his friends, and the life he had left behind. He remembered the laughter, the warmth, and the love that had filled his days."Stay strong, Percy," he whispered to himself. "They’re counting on you."As the first light of dawn broke, Percy felt a renewed sense of hope. The sky was painted in hues of orange and pink, a beautiful reminder of the world he was protecting. The weight seemed to lighten, if only for a moment, as he drew strength from the rising sun.The day brought new challenges. The sun blazed overhead, and sweat poured down Percy’s face. His vision blurred, and his limbs felt like lead. But he could see the determination in the eyes of his friends as they fought tirelessly. Annabeth, Grover, and the others were giving everything they had to buy him more time."Just a little longer," he thought. "I can do this."Percy’s mind wandered to the promise he had made to his mother, to protect those he loved. That promise fueled his resolve. He gritted his teeth and adjusted his stance, finding new reserves of strength deep within.Days melded into nights, and Percy lost track of time. His world had shrunk to the weight on his shoulders and the ground beneath his feet. But he never lost hope. He felt the presence of his friends, their unwavering support, and it kept him going. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Atlas, his face twisted with rage and determination. He started to lunge at Annabeth, quick on her feet, she saw an opportunity. "Percy, now!" she shouted. She dodged Atlas's attack, leading him into a trap. In the heat of the battle, Annabeth maneuvered Atlas into position. Atlas fell directly under the sky, and before he could react, the immense weight settled back onto his shoulders. Roaring in frustration, Atlas realized he had been outsmarted. Percy, now free from the burden, collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. Annabeth rushed to his side, her eyes filled with relief and pride. "It's over, Percy," she whispered. "You did it."
