Work Text
I spend my time at a hospital
To compensate for what I can’t do
A god with healing hands
Now I can barely stand
I can still keep myself stable
Yet you seem to crumble
From lack of worship leaving you rough
Am I not doing enough?
We repeat a cycle
Where I hate to watch you spiral
You hate what you have become
Even after the episode’s done
A friend gives you an idea
While I’m handed a letter
And while I pray that the latter is a bluff
…could it be enough?
We fight and we love again
The cycle starts and ends
The breaking of your form
Doesn’t help to be bloodborne
With a dream comes a nightmare
We have to talk and stare
It is you that I still love
Yet I say that you are not enough
I lie to you as I leave
I lie to myself as I grieve
What we once had was perfect
Yet I am bound as I protect
I drink what’s left of your labour
“Good work, Apollo, what a saviour.”
The setting sun’s sky is cut
You were always enough
