He sprinted through the dense woods, sweat pouring down his face as his breath came in ragged gasps, each inhalation tinged with the acrid bite of fear and despair. The sinister presence of his pursuer loomed behind him, a shadowy figure moving with unnerving slowness. The moonlight revealed the glint of a cruel butcher's knife and a pale mask with hollow, black eyes that seemed to pierce his very soul, even from afar.Jake's sobs echoed through the night as he stumbled and fell, his body crashing against the unforgiving ground. Pain shot through him, but he barely registered it as he pushed himself up, sweat and tears mingling on his face. He stared, horrified, at the house in front of him—the home of his friend. The place where this nightmare began, where the monster known as The Shape had taken his sister, her boyfriend, and their stepfather. The jack-o'-lanterns adorning the house were twisted in grotesque grins, their carved faces illuminated by the sickly moonlight, their malevolent smiles seeming to mock Jake's torment. Suddenly, a blood-curdling scream erupted from his throat. He spun around, desperate to escape the encroaching darkness, his heart pounding as he skidded away from the towering figure behind him. The figure's mask gleamed in the moonlight, its eyes as dark as coal, a silent harbinger of death.Tears streamed down Jake’s face, blurring his vision as he recalled the first time he had met his friend—the promises they had made to each other. Those promises now seemed like cruel illusions, tainted by the nightmarish reality of the Shape’s relentless pursuit. The memories of their vow echoed in his mind, growing fainter as the terror of the present threatened to consume him entirely.Yet he still remembers when they first met.And staring into the coal eyes, he could still see the memory flashing before his eyes as his very life. ...Jake Park stood outside his new school in Haddonfield, feeling a wave of nostalgia. He recalled the day he first walked into his old school, the thrill of new beginnings mingling with hope and excitement. His old friends had been so familiar, their laughter a comforting constant in his life. Now, as he scanned the faces of his new schoolmates, he felt a pang of uncertainty. Would he ever find the same connection again? He sighed deeply, a mix of longing and resignation, before climbing the stairs and stepping into the unknown. He walked down the hall, his face a mask of nervousness as he scanned the crowd of new schoolmates, searching for his friend. Clutching his books tightly against his chest, he tried to steady his trembling hands. Suddenly, someone shoved him hard from behind. He stumbled and fell to the floor, his books scattering around him. The sound of laughter erupted around him, echoing through the corridor as he struggled to gather his belongings and regain his composure, while trying to ignore the mocking laughter.Jake scrambled to grab his last fallen book, but just as he reached for it, a kid stepped on it, blocking his path. Looking down with a cruel smirk, the kid made no move to help. “Hello, pussy”, Wesley mocked and snatched the book up, and he threw it in the trash.“That was my book!” Jake yelled out, standing up but he was roughly shoved to the floor again, once again, his books were scattered.“Boo-hoo, wimpy pussy-shit!” Wesley mocked and he and his friend high-five and they walked to class while the other students were laughing, they left for their classes to begin, leaving the new student alone and more lonely and defeated. With his head down, Jake remained seated on the floor, picking up his scattered books. As he reached for the last one, he noticed a pair of legs standing in front of him. Looking up, he saw a boy with shoulder-length blonde hair, his face obscured by a menacing clown mask. Jake swallowed hard, the boy's intense glare sending a shiver down his spine.“Um…hi”, he greeted. The masked boy didn't reply but slowly pulled out his hand to him.Jake stared at the masked boy in confusion and shock as he slowly tilted his head. Trembling, Jake extended his hand, and the boy helped him up, his gaze unyielding. Jake kept his head down, unsure of what to do. The masked boy then began to quietly gather the fallen books. Jake watched in silence as the boy approached the trash can where the bully had discarded one of the books, retrieving it with care. Returning to Jake, the masked boy wordlessly handed back the books. Stunned, Jake took them with a shy smile. The masked boy's unblinking stare remained fixed on him, adding to the surreal moment.“Thank you”, Jake thanked him. The masked boy remained silent.Jake stared at him in fear, the clown mask’s black eyes piercing through the fabric. He swallowed hard, the intensity of the gaze making his throat tighten. “Um…what's your name?” Jake then asked with a smile, hoping this might be a chance to make a friend. The masked boy didn't reply, only staring at him. “Um…my name's Jake. Jake Park”The masked boy remained silent, his head tilting once more. Without a word, he turned and walked away, heading toward his class. Jake sighed. So much for finding a friend....It was his second day in his new school. He hopes he will make it through it. He walked through the new school’s hallways, making his way to his classroom. As he turned a corner, he saw a younger boy struggling to retrieve his mask from two taller, older boys who were taunting him and holding it out of reach.“Mikey wants his precious mask back”, Wesley taunted.“Stop, give it back! Stop, give it back to me!!!” The same masked boy, now maskless, yelled out, trying to get his mask back.“You want it? Do you want it? Catch it then!” Wesley’s friend mocked, then he threw the mask back to Wesley who caught it.The maskless boy's face looked in such rage as he continued to try to retrieve his beloved mask as struggled. “Give my fucking mask back!” He shouted aggressively then he was shoved to the floor.“Go ahead, tough guy!” Wesley mocked him, holding the mask for him to take. “Take it from me!” Michael stared at him in such rage with strands of his hair covering his face. “Leave him alone!” The bullies and the victim watched Jake, his face a strained mask of bravery, with his fists clenched tightly at his sides. The bullies' eyes shifted between the newcomer and Wesley, who had dropped his mask. Wesley rushed to retrieve it, scrutinizing it closely before slipping it back on. He then fixed his gaze on the newcomer, who, though visibly trembling, stood resolute as Wesley and his friends approached.Jake gulped as Wesley and his friend walked to him as they were staring at him, then Wesley punched Jake in the face, making the young boy land to the floor with a cry.“Fuck off, fucker!” Wesley yelled and he and his friend walked away. He sat on the floor, tears streaming down his face as he clutched his nose, the sting of the punch throbbing with every heartbeat and blood oozing from his nostril. Jake gazed at the masked boy, whose own mask was streaked with tears and blood streaming from his nose. The boy tilted his head slightly, extended his hand, and Jake hesitated before grasping it. With the boy’s help, Jake was lifted to his feet. Jake wiped his nose and hissed in pain from the pain and blood and stared at the masked boy whose black eyes were not leaving him. “Thank you”, Jake quavered with a trembled smile. The masked boy, like yesterday, walked away, leaving Jake now and once again alone with no friend. Jake sighed and headed to the bathroom, not worrying about being late to class. He had his mind set on skipping class....Jake meandered through the bustling cafeteria, his lunch bag swinging gently by his side. His eyes scanned the sea of tables, hoping to catch sight of a familiar face amidst the chatter and clatter. He was on a quest not just for a seat, but for the comforting company of a friend. In the corner of the cafeteria, Jake’s eyes were drawn to a solitary figure seated at a distant table. And he was wearing the same clown mask. He stared at the masked boy wearing the creepy clown mask and he inhaled deeply and makes a shy yet hopeful smile then journey towards him. Jake stared as he stood up, holding his lunch bag in his hand as he smiled a hopeful smile, while the masked boy wasn't paying no mind, not even eating his lunch. “Hello”, Jake greeted. The masked boy slowly rose his masked face at him with such unsettling motion that made shivers down Jake's spine yet he remained standing. “Can I…sit here with you?” The masked boy stared at him for a minute then slowly lowered his eyes on the table, letting his strands blanket his face. Jake stared at him then slowly placed his lunch bag on the table then sat down as he smiled nervously. “Uh…I'm Jake. But I guess you already learned that”, he introduced his name again. He remained silent. “Um…what's your name?” The masked boy's gaze flitted from Jake to the plastic knife in his hand, then swept across the crowded lunchroom before settling back on his untouched meal. His eyes lingered on the table, as if lost in contemplation, unperturbed by the bustling surroundings.Jake gulped and stared at his lunch bag and opened it and took out his lunch and stared at the boy's clown mask. “I like your mask”The masked boy raised his eyes, staring at him and his smile. “Are you going trick-or-treating tonight?” Jake asked. The masked boy slowly nodded. “Cool”, Jake said then asked. “What's your name?”The masked boy slowly takes off his mask, revealing his face with blue eyes and a small smile, with his hair still draping his face. “Michael,” he said, his voice emerging for the first time from behind the mask.Jake smiled wider. “Do you want to…be friends, Michael?”He nodded with his small smile underneath. Jake's smile widened that he has finally succeeded of finding a friend....Jake gazed at the imposing figure clad in black, its menacing presence amplified by the small mask and the bloody knife held aloft, poised to plunge into his flesh. Tears welled in his eyes as the haunting memory of how he had first met his friend replayed in his mind. He mourned the helplessness that had shadowed his efforts, wishing he could have done more than his mother or the psychiatrist for his only friend. How he longed to have visited him, to have offered solace during those long, solitary years spent behind the cold, unyielding walls of the sanitarium.“Please…please….don't…”, he sobbed helplessly. The masked killer doesn't say a word or show any signs of hesitation. He raised the knife higher.“Please don't hurt me…please…no…please, Michael, please stop! We're friends, remember?! Remember? In the cafeteria?”He readied to stab him. “Don't…, Michael,...please...you're my friend. You have always been...my friend, Micheal...please...we're friends...you've always been”He thrusts the knife through the air with a savage grace, ready to pierce Jake’s very soul. “No! Michael!!!” Jake shouted, shielding his face with his arms for his death to come.Jake braced himself for the cold bite of the knife, but the anticipated pain never arrived. Silence enveloped him, punctuated only by the unnerving rhythm of deep, eerie breaths. His skin remained untouched, though the tension was palpable. Trembling, he dared to shift his legs and gasped as he found the white mask mere inches from his face, its black eyes boring into him with a penetrating gaze, as though reaching into the very depths of his soul. Paralyzed with dread, he attempted to inch away, only to notice the knife, its blade gleaming, embedded in the grass beside him. With mounting terror, he turned back to confront the ghostly mask and those abyssal, ink-black eyes that seemed to hold the darkness of his own fears.Jake heard the deep, haunting breaths cease abruptly. The masked figure, with an almost deliberate slowness, raised his bloodied hand and began to peel the mask away from his neck then face, revealing the familiar face beneath. As the rubber concealer was stripped away, Jake's breath caught in his throat. The visage unveiled was one he had known fifteen years ago, a face he once called a friend. The killer’s hair tumbled down in disarray, a chaotic cascade that framed his shoulders and fell in uneven strands across his face. Jake’s eyes were drawn to the scar that marred his eye, a stark contrast to the piercing blue eyes that remained unchanged. Though the expression on the killer's face was one of cold stoicism, Jake could discern a deeper, more poignant emotion—an overwhelming, palpable loneliness that seemed to speak of years lost and a heart consumed by darkness.Jake sat himself up, staring at the blue eyes and face, then smiled hopefully. “Mic…hael?” Michael Myers stared at his only friend, then slowly released his hand from his knife, his eyes not leaving him. Jake gasped as strong, muscular arms enveloped his slender frame, pulling him tightly against a hard, familiar chest. His cheeks flushed with warmth, pressed close to the firm, unyielding center of his old friend. As he looked up, he saw his friend's face obscured by a cascade of dark, tousled locks, each strand falling like a shadow, partially veiling the emotions etched within.“Michael?” He said his name again. He only felt Michael's arms holding him tighter. Jake smiled and held his friend closer, nuzzling his face into his coverall suit, not caring about the blood that crusted on his clothing. “I missed you too, buddy” He whispered in his ear. “I missed you too”The masked killer was ready to crush him, not wanting to let him go again. After fifteen years of such loneliness, he finally had his friend back. The killer’s mask stayed intact, yet beneath it, the friend remained hidden, a silent presence veiled in darkness.
