Dumbledore appeared in an instant and pulled out a device that took the light from the street lights. He had a bundled blanket in his arms that moved ever so slightly as he walked up the driveway on Privet Drive. The blanket was a dark green and looked like it was made of a high quality cloth. The faint sound of a baby crying could be heard from the bundle with every step he took. He smirked at how perfectly everything had gone. His musing was interrupted by a cat appearing in front of him “McGonagall I should have expected you to be here.” Dumbledore said with a sigh. As he spoke the cat began to change, it grew and grew till the cat was no longer a cat. The cat became Professor McGonagall “Good evening Professor Dumbledore, are the rumors true?” McGonagall asked “Yes the good and the bad” Dumbledore replied with a shake of his head. McGonagall looked down with a sad look in her eyes. As she looked down she saw the small child in Dumbledore’s arms. A sad smile came to McGonagall's face as she saw the tiny baby “What will happen to baby Harry?” McGonagall asked “He will be left with his Aunt and Uncle” Dumbledore said simple McGonagall looked like she was going to protest but shut her mouth and stayed silent though there was still a fire-like determination in her eyes.About 5 minutes later there was a small child now sitting on the doorstep on #4 Privet Drive with his green blanket still wrapped around him. A glint in his eyes, Dumbledore left the small child with magic hating muggles. If only they had stayed a few more seconds they would have seen the dark shadows that surrounded the baby. If they had stayed even a second longer they would have seen Harry Potter the savior of the Wizarding World disappear into thin air and if they had checked up on him only once in those 11 years they would have found that Harry J. Potter had never stepped foot into the Dursleys house…Somewhere in the dark void sat a lone person? Thing? No one knows what they are, all people know is that their name was Death or that's what people assumed if you were to ask them for their name they would tell you to call them what you want. Death sat alone for centuries; they sat and watched the world, only leaving their place to go and reap souls. Death had assumed that they would sit alone forever. I mean who would want to spend centuries with Death in a void of darkness? He was content to sit alone forever until 11 years ago. On Oct 31 1981 on halloween night a bright light appeared in the void. The light was impossible Death knew that he sat in the void, light should not be possible, the light shouldn't have been in a place only able to produce darkness. Yet Death knew the light was real; he could see it and it was blinding. The light looked as if the sun itself appeared in the void, a place that knew not of its brilliance. Soon the light faded but it still left a small glow that turned the pitch blackness into a dark gray.Death looked around to find what caused the light. After a few minutes? Hours? You could never really tell. Death found a small baby wrapped in a dark green blanket. Around the baby were all three Deathly Hallows. The first Hallow was the invisibility cloak that was wrapped around the baby but The Hallow looked different than the last time he saw it. The Hallow was now a green cloak-like blanket wrapped around the boy. The second Hallow was the resurrection stone which was now a small ring that was on the baby's finger it seems the ring had been shrunk to fit the baby. The final Deathly Hallow was the elder wand and the wand sat in a small pocket in the cloak. It's said that if one person holds all three Hallows that they are the Master of Death and here right in front of him was a child that wasn't even able to speak but was his Master. Death was confused as to why there was a baby with all three Hallows and how the baby got there but just as Death was thinking he saw a small note in the blanket/CloakTake care of him.
Ps. His name is Harry James Potter. Was all the letter said. Death stared at the letter with a blank expression. Why would someone send a baby to Death the Reaper of Souls. Death looked down at the baby and the baby looked back up at him with big Avada kadabra green eyes and began to laugh happily at Death. The small baby raised its hands at Death silently asking for Death to pick him up. Death complied and picked the small baby up. The baby giggled and made a noise of happiness, seemingly very happy at being in Death's arms. Death could not help but smile at the child who had no fear of him, who laughed at him instead of screaming in fear or terror. Right then and there Death promised to protect this small child that was given to him. A gift from the heavens he’d call him(Does heaven even exist? Death would never say.)This day Harrys fate was changed and no one was any the wiser. Harry the orphan, the abused sad pawn of Dumbledor and the “Savior of The Wizarding World” would never be, but instead Hadrian would rise in his place, his head held high with pride, the soul son of Death and a storm waiting to happen in the calm of the wizarding world and this is his story.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Death was struggling. Death the harvester of souls didn’t know how to keep a mortal alive much less a mortal baby. Death had tried everything he could think of to stop the crying, he truly had. From toys to food to trying to lay Hadrian down for sleep but nothing had worked and now Death lay flat on his back next to baby Hadrian’s crib staring up at the ceiling wishing for death. In a last ditch effort to stop the crying Death summoned a ball of cold shadows in hope of it entertaining Hadrian for even a minute of silence. Death stood and reached into the crib handing Hadrian the shadow ball that looked more like a flat shadow because with Hadrian crying Death couldn’t focus. Hadrian grabbed the flat…plate?...of shadows and instantly put it in his mouth. His cry’s turned to sniffles and sniffles to babbling on and on about something around the cold plate of shadows. Death wanted to cry with relief, the screaming had finally stopped. Death slumped forwards onto the side of the crib. He wanted to be mad at the crying but as he looked down at Hadrian, his son, his gift from the heavens he couldn’t bring himself to be mad at the small baby that laid down on his back babbling so happily up at him while chewing on the shadows. As he looked down at Hadrian his eyes softened and he reached down and gently patted Hadrian's head ruffling the raven hair he had. Hadrian giggled and reached up grabbing Death's hand with a happy gurgle. Death smiled down softly at Hadrian and in that moment Death felt love. For the first time in Death's existence Death had someone he loved, someone he would willingly lay down his immortal life for.The next day Death would learn what ‘Teething’ was and he marched his self up to Life's office demanding he free Hadrian from this curse Hadrian was under…(Death did the bare minimum amount of research and had to sit through Life lecturing about not overreacting and actually doing research)
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Death stood with his head bowed as Life gave a calm lecture about doing research and knowing what he was talking about.“Death, You must know that coming to me for any minor inconvenience you have is not logical! Especially something as simply as a kid teething!” Life said in a calm tone with a hint of disappointment in it. Life paused for a second with thought before looking at Death slightly confused “Why are you so concerned about a human? You never dabble in their lives so why are you so worried about a child doing something as natural as teething?" Life questioned.
“Well ummm… Oksosomeonesentmeahumankidandi’vebeentakingcareofhimbutIdon’tknow
whattodo! Please help me!” Death rushed out quickly as he looked at Life sheepishly. Life paused for all of 2 seconds before sending Death a sharp glare.
“What.” Life bit out in a deadly calm
“Uh, surprise….I have a kid!” Death mumbled out quieter than before he did the godly equivalent of jazz hands(Jazz hands but with little shadowy fireworks to spruce it up)
“You have a child! How did you get a child?! Why do you have a child!? Do you even know how to take care of a kid!? How old even is this kid!” Life practically yelled out while passing back and forth rubbing his forehead. Death just watched nervously as Life paced.
“He was given to me. I don't know why and he is still a baby?” Death murmured. Life let out a long suffering sigh,
“Alright, Ok, this is fine. The God of Death has a LIVING being in his domain that's fine.” Life muttered under his breath. Life took one more deep breath and sighed, “Yeah, no. Not fine, that's not fine at all! We’re going to your domain.” Life started with no room for argument. Life walked over to Death and grabbed his ear from under his hood. Death let out a yelp unbefitting of an immortal being as he was dragged out the door to Life’s office. In a flash of light Life had teleported both himself and Death to Death’s domain. Life continued to drag Death by the ear all the way to the room Hadrian’s crib was in(It is at the top of Death's castle so Death was dragged up 3 flights of stairs by Life.) Death was finally released when Life laid eyes on the adorable baby Hadrian who had woken up from his nap when Life dragged Death into the room. Life cooed softly at the baby as he walked up to the crib. Hadrian looked up at Life with his big Avada kadabra green eyes and Life’s heart melted as he looked at the adorable baby “I'm keeping him.”
“What?!” Death asked incredulously as he watched Life smile at baby Hadrian who had giggled happily at his arrival and tried to sit up. Life cooed again and quickly reached down into the crib to pick Hadrian up.
“I’m keeping him. He's mine now.” Life said simply as he held Hadrian cradled in one arm as Hadrian played happily with his other hand.
“What! No! He was given to me so he is mine!”
“Nope! You don't even know how to take care of him! What's his name?”
“His name is Hadrian but that's not the point! He's my kid!”
“Nu’uh!”
“Ya’hu!”
“Nope, Hadria-” The argument was cut short as Hadrian gargled unhappily and pouted almost like he sensed the petty argument. He babbled again and made a big hand motion almost like he was explaining something. Both Death and Life cooed at the baby letting out soft “aww’s” as Hadrian continued his adorable babbling. Life glanced to Death and saw the soft look in his eyes as he looked at Hadrian. It was a look Life had never seen from the cold Death and he never thought he would see. With a soft smile Life came to a decision “We raise him together.” Life said softly and Death just nodded as he walked over to Life who was holding Hadrian. Death gave Hadrian the kindest of look then looked to Life
“Together.” Death agreed as he booped Hadrian's nose making the baby splutter then laugh happily.Neither Life nor Death knew that this promise would lead to something that would last more than a human lifetime. Something that would last more than a million human lifetimes.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Hadrian was now 6 which means he was a hellion. Death and Life have many regrets. The most prevalent one being teaching Hadrian wandless magic the second he could speak. That went about as well as you would expect and now they had a chaotic 6 year old who could summon hellhounds which he delightfully called “Puppies!". The only problem? Hellhounds are the protectors of the underworld and they go EVERYWHERE in the underworld. To the darkest pits and back but Hadrian loved the puppies and will follow them. Now Hadrian was nowhere to be found and not a one hellhound would dare give up the location of their beloved prince. Death and Life were panicking while frantically searching the Dead realm to find Hadrian. While they searched high and low Hadrian sat atop the biggest puppy he could find but this puppy was different, this puppy had three heads! When Hadrian had found this puppy he had been so happy at the new friend that had triple the head to pat!“Puppy! Look!” Hadrian yelled happily from a top of the cerberus while pointing to a huge locked door that was almost 10ft tall and had chains bound around it. The cerberus huffed slightly at the insistent child but obliged and walked over to the door. Once close enough Hadrian to a running start and jumped off the 7ft cerberus using a wandless charm to slow his fall. Hadrian laughed as he floated slowly to the ground and the second his feet hit the ground he took off running to the door. The door was made of a dark wood that looked old, it had metal adornments that looked rusted and cracked but the chain that bound the door up tight looked well taken care of. Hadrian being the smart child he was, knew that he couldn’t open the door himself…well he shouldn’t be able to but he knew magic and with magic nothing is impossible. Hadrian closed his eyes and focused hard just like Death had taught him and with a whispered spell of “Aberto” the lock of the door clicked and opened.Hadrian tried to open the door but it was too big for him to reach the handle so he enlisted the help of the big puppy. Once he asked cerberus walked up to the door and grabbed the metal knob with his mouth. Cerberus pulled with all his strength until the rust that held the door shut cracked allowing the old door to be pulled open. It creaked angrily as it was forced open by Big Puppy but Hadrian just laughed triumphant before running head first into the darkness that lay behind the door to explore the unknown.Hadrian’s laughter echoed in the vast darkness as he ran with nowhere in mind. He ran and ran then suddenly he ran into something. It was squishy and sticky and didn’t give at all when Hadrian ran into it letting out a loud oof. A rumble was heard as whatever Hadrian had run into grumbled and moved with a swishing sound.“Who dares to interrupt my slumber!” A deep voice grumbled as 2 glowing eyes opened in the vast darkness immediately locking onto the small form of Hadrian who still sat on the ground from the fall he took after running into this thing.“O-oh, sorry Mr! I didn’t mean to wake you!” Hadrian yelled back to the tall creature having to look straight up to even see the thing's eyes.“A mortal? No, you stink of immortality. Who are you, child?”“Dad and Papa said not to give my name out! They say names are a “souls identifier” or something!” Hadrian chastised with a pout as he waved an accusing finger at the being that towered over him.“Oh? Quiet the amusing child you are.” The being sassed back instantly, “Now, why have you come to my lair?”“Lair? I didn’t know this was a lair, why do you live behind an old door?” Hadrian asked with all the bluntness of a child. The being seemed amused by Hadrian’s blunt question as it chuckled and it reached down with a…tentacle?...well at least Hadrian thinks it's a tentacle. Wherever it is, it is now wrapped gently around Hadrian and bringing him to eye level with the strange being“I do not live behind the door. The door simply holds everything in and I stop anything getting past the door and into the oceans, we already have enough eldritch beings in the ocean.” The being explained amusement clear in its voice“Eldritch’s in the oceans?” Hadrian repeated back to the being confused, “What's an Eldritch and why isn’t it allowed in the ocean?” Hadrian asked with a soft head tilt to the side in confusion. The being chuckled again and the tentacle wrapped around Hadrian loosened until Hadrian was sitting on it instead of being wrapped up by it.“An Eldritch is what we call something non-mortal that can’t be explained by their puny science or magic. Something that can’t truly be understood by mortals that can’t be fully gazed upon by the likes of the living because it would break their flimsy minds. This is why I know you are not mortal nor living in its truest sense because you have looked upon me and still breath, still have your mind.” The being explained calmly but out of that whole explanation all Hadrian got was that he was talking to an Eldritch and that he was cool.“Oooooo! You're an Eldritch? That's so cool!” Hadrian exclaimed happily while he softly clapped his hands together. You could practically see the stars in his eyes as he looked at the being whom he had just found out was a super cool Eldritch(He still didn’t fully know what that meant.). The being rolled its glowing eyes which was a very funny sight as it gave an exasperated sigh“Is that all you heard me say?” The Eldritch asked and Hadrian just nodded happily, making it sigh once more.“Do you have powers?” Hadrian asked excitedly and you could practically feel the Eldritch’s smile at how quickly the child changed the topic of conversation with the tact only a child could get away with.“Yes, young one I have “powers” as you have called them.” The beings said simply. The conversation continued on for about an hour. Hadrian would ask a question and the Eldritch would answer as best he could(Hadrian was very good at asking questions not even the brightest of minds could answer.). The most notable questions were “Where are you from?” The answer was “Nowhere with a human name.”Hadrian took that as a challenge and now the Eldritch was from a place Hadrian dubbed as “Piscari Paradiso” or Fish Paradise in latin.Death and Life had searched everywhere they could for Hadrian. You can imagine their shock when they saw the door leading to the mortal realm at the bottom of the Mariana Trench was open and being blocked by a sleeping cerberus. The same door used to keep any wayward residents of the death realm from getting to the mortal oceans(The last ghost megalodon was enough trouble as it was dang it!). The door that was guarded by Cthulhu was open for who knows how long and Cthulhu hadn’t closed it yet. Needless to say both Life and Death almost had a heart attack when they saw their son sitting on Cthulhu tentacle talking to him like it was normal.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Hadrian has disappeared again… This has been a normal thing for Hadrian to do since he could walk. You see Hadrian had the drive to explore and what better place to explore than Death's realm? The answer is none, there is no better or more interesting place than Death's domain. So now Hadrian is out exploring the halls of death which hold all the spirits in different rooms made out of small pocket dimensions suited for each type of ghost/ghosts.Hadrian was having the time of his life(Can it be called his life? His with the dead.). He had finally found where his Dad hid all the cool ghosties he had. Hadrian, the chaos gremlin he is, decided that today he was gonna make a lot of new friends! The only problem was he didn't know where to start, there were too many doors that all looked interesting so Hadrian decided he would find the coolest door he could and make friends with whoever was behind it!This is why Hadrian was now running top speed down a corridor while looking at every door he passed trying to see which one was the coolest. While looking his eyes fell upon an older door that was well taken care of. It looked like it was made of 4 different types of wood that Hadrian couldn't name, its handle was adorned with a pretty carving of castle which looks like it took a lot of time to make. Hadrian decided that this is the door that led to his new friends! His logic was ‘If someone spent so much time on just the door knob then whatever's inside must be cool too!’.Hadrian reached out and grabbed the door knob that was cold against his skin. He pulled the door open easily and quickly walked inside before closing the door behind him quietly. Inside the room could only be described as chaos, pure chaos. The room seemed to be split into 4 quadrants. The first one was so colorful that it hurt Hadrian's eyes. Reds, blues, yellows, greens of all shades from neon to basically black were everywhere, not even the grass was left alone because that too was tie dyed to be all of those colors. In the quadrant was a HUGE bouncy house castle! It was almost 100 ft high and was mostly yellow.Hadrian grinned and quickly made his way over to the bouncy castle. Once he got close to it he could see that the castle that had a huge inflatable door that opened when he was about to knock on it. Hadrian laughed happily and made his way inside the bouncy castle happily jumping up the stairs in search of his new friend who didn’t know they were his friend yet! With a laugh Hadrian took a big jump in the bouncy castle off of the balcony that overlooked what Hadrian assumed was the living room because it had inflated couches. Hadrian had neglected to look where he was jumping and jumped right over a young looking girl who sat on the couch playing what looked like a Nintendo Switch with Minecraft on it. That was Hadrian was able to tell before he hit the ground in front of the couch and was bounced back up with a yelp. The girl on the couch yelped as well as she jumped at the sudden arrival of Hadrian. After a second of the girl just staring in shock at Hadrian, Hadrian stopped bouncing and looked up at her from where he was in a tangled mess on the bouncy castle floor.
“Hi!” Hadrian said happily as he grinning at her as he stood up
“Uhhh Hi?” The girl replied in a hesitant and confused tone as she gave Hadrian a small wave
“You're my friend now! Which means you can call me Hadrian”
“Well…Hadrian, it's nice to meet you? Please call me Helga.”
“Well, nice to meet you Helga! Your bouncy castle is really cool!” Hadrian beamed happily
“Thank you…W-what are you doing here?” Helga asked still confused
“I was looking for a new friend!”
“Oh ok…and you choose here, why?”
“Your door looked cool and the door knob had a castle on it!” Hadrian stated like that explained it
“Ok? That's some sound logic you have there Hadrian.” Helga said with a soft nod clearly joking making Hadrian pout
“Yes, it is! Thank you for recognizing its brilliance!” Hadrian sassed back and Helga just rolled her eyes at him.“Anyways, how did you even get here? We are in Death's domain and you…seem at least kinda living?” Helga asked as she put down her Nintendo Switch down next to her
“Dad said I could explore as long as I didn't break anything in his domain!” Hadrian said with a smile
“Your dad’s domain? Your dad is Death?” Helga asked incredulously
“Yep!”
“Alright, so the son of Death is-”
“Death and Life!” Hadrian interrupted with a giggle
“Ok, the son of Death and Life is in my cast-wait….WHAT!?” Helga asked, surprised as she looked at Hadrian as if he had grown 2 heads
“I'm the son of Life and Death! Not just Death.”
“Oo….ok.” Helga said softly as she looked Hadrian up and down once more, “Would you…Do you wanna meet my siblings?” Helga asked still slightly dazed at the information that had been shared with her
“I would love to meet your sibling! Oh I bet they’re awesome!” Hadrian answered quickly as his eyes shined happily(Like actually glowed with his happiness which was strange.)
“Yeah, alright. J-just give me a minute to call them over…” Helga mumbled as she quickly bounced her way to a window that faced the rest of the chaos land outside. She took out her wand and casted a quick “Periculum”(Shooting red sparks) then in casted a “Colovaria”(Color change).Black sparks shot into the sky from Helga’s wand and a few seconds later Hadrian heard 3 pops and quick footsteps heading towards them. The people casted transfiguration after transfiguration and based off of their footsteps they were changing the bouncy castle floor to something easier to run on. All three burst into the room and the other girl, who had dark long raven colored hair with hazel eyes and wore a long flowy dark blue dress with black accents with some black flat heel shoes, casted the transfiguration upon the ground changing it to hardwood under Hadrian's feet. The first to speak was the shorter male who had darker green eyes than Hadrian and long dark brown almost black hair that was pulled back with green twine and wore a green shirt with cut up black jeans and dark green combat boots
“Lil sis, are you alright! We saw your emergency signal and came as fast as we could!” He yelled while looking around until his eyes landed on Helga. The next to speak was a taller male with short dirty blonde hair and brown hazely eyes, he wore a dark red hoodie with a lion printed onto it with white ink and some loose fitting pants that were tucked into black combat boots that looked comfy
“Yeah! You look fine so what's the emergency!?” The blonde asked louder than the shorter man asked a little panicked
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” Helga said as she rolled her eyes at the panicked group, “I just needed you all here quickly to meet Hadrian….the son of Life and Death.” Helga said as she gestured to Hadrian who just gave a small wave in greeting as the three newcomers looked at him stunned
“Hey, I’m Hadrian as you all know! What's your names?” Hadrian asked kindly
“I’m Salazar,” the shorter man said in a quiet voice still slightly dazed, “that’s my annoying brother Godric,” Salazar said as he pointed to the blonde man, “and that's my lovely sister Rowena.” Salazar spoke quietly as he pointed to Rowena who had her arms crossed and looked intrigued by Hadrian's presence in their dimension
“Why have you come to The Founders Dimension?” Rowena asked
“I wanted to make new friends and your dimension door looked cool?” Hadrian said sheepishly under the scrutinizing glare of Rowena
“You broke into a whole new dimension because you wanted to make a friend? Helga this one's yours.” Rowena stated simply
“I doubt that, he might be one of mine.” Salazar chimed in with a shrug
“Let’s figure this out! Hadrian, how old are you and do you go to Hogwarts?” Godric asked with a soft smile
“Uhhh I’m 6 and a half and I’m not old enough to go to Hogwarts yet!” Hadrian said happily
“Oh well that's no good! We need to figure out what house you’re in!” Godric sighed out
“We need to figure out what house you're in or we will never stop arguing about it until you're old enough to get to Hogwarts.” Rowena said as she shook her head. Helga, who had been silently watching the whole interaction, had brightened as she had a good-ish idea
“I’ve got it! Let’s just send him to Hogwarts! I mean it’s our school so who would tell him he can’t be there if we say he can!” Helga exclaimed happily
“Yes! Great idea baby sis!” Godric said as he nodded happily
“But how would we get him from the dead realm to Hogwarts which is in the human realm?” Salazar asked calmly
“Oh!Oh! I know!” Hadrian exclaimed while jumping up and down with a huge grin, “I know a ghost from Hogwarts! His name is Peeves and he comes and goes from the dead realm to Hogwarts! I can ask him to take me with him on his next trip to Hogwarts!” Hadrian explained happily and Rowena facpalmed in the background but didn’t stop their planning
“Yes! Great idea Hadrian! I knew leaving Peeves at Hogwarts was a good idea, and you doubted me Sal!” Godric sassed with a smirk
“Yeah yeah, whatever.” Salazar said as he rolled his eyes at Godric
“Well what are we waiting for?! Hadrian needs to go and find Peeves before he returns to Hogwarts!” Helga said as she waved Hadrian off silently telling him to leave and go find Peeves.Hadrian nodded then ran towards the still open window and jumped out of it as he casted a silent slow falling charm. Once he reached the ground he ran to the door of The Founders Dimension and with a shout of “Good bye!” Hadrian was off to find Peeves and cause chaos!
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Peeves was having a good day….well he was having a good day but now he was having a great day! I mean who has the chance of A) Meeting the heir to both Life and Death, and B) Having said heir asks you to take him to your haunt because it is interesting! Peeves was practically jumping with joy. That is why Peeves is now giving the heir to the underworld, Hadrian, a piggy back ride to a huge spinning portal that leads to Hogwarts. The only problem? Peeves neglected to mention that the portal on Hogwarts side is in the bespelled ceiling in the Great Hall.Hadrian and Peeves bursted out of the spelled ceiling with a gleeful cackle. At high speeds Peeves flew straight down only to turn up at the last second, missing multiple students who were peacefully eating their dinner just moments before. Many things were shouted to Peeves as he flew around the the Great Hall, the most prevalent things yelled were amongst“Wh-what!?”“Peeves!”“What are you doing now!?“Wait…Is that a kid?”“Peeves took a kid!”“Return him this instant Peeves!”All of which made Hadrian laugh even louder. After a few laps around the Great Hall Peeves went flying full speed at the closed door forgetting that Hadrian didn’t go through doors like he does. Hadrian saved himself with a wave of his hand; the Great Hall’s doors opened with a bang. Now both Hadrian and Peeves were flying down winding hallways and corridors leaving the masses of students in the Great Hall confused and the staff members even more so.Hadrian’s hair flapped in the wind as he let out a happy yell. At this moment Peeves got an idea so he changed the direction of his flight to head straight to the planetarium which had a big dome roof. Once there Peeves flew as high as he could, which was about 30 ft high, he grabbed Hadrian off his back and threw him up in the air making Harian yelp and laugh at the feeling of free falling. Peeves let him fall almost 20 ft then swooped down and caught Hadrian who was smiling happily“That.Was.Amazing!” Hadrian yelled out happily making Peeves giggle as he put Hadrian back on his back and took off down the hall once more. Whooping happily Hadrian threw his arms up with a huge grin as Peeves turned another corner and headed straight for the headmasters office.Hadrian opened the door with a wave of his hands again, the gargoyle wanted nothing to do with them, which shocked the paintings that had been having a peaceful conversation before Hadrian and Peeves bursted into the office like a hurricane.“Peeves! What are you doing! And who's the poor student you kidnapped!?” One of the paintings snapped out with a soft tut of disappointment“Oh how dare you Mr. Fancy Pants! I have kidnapped no student! He asked me to bring him here and what type of school poltergeist would I be if I didn’t help the young one answer his questions?” Peeves sassed as he huffed and crossed his arms and turned his head to the sided“Peeves! You mustn't tell me you have brung a random kid to Hogwarts!” The painting yelled“Well then I won’t tell you Mr. Fancy Pants.”“Peeves!”“The founders said he could be here!”“I don’t care who said what! You can’t just bring rando-” Mr. Fancy Pants was cut off as Dumbledore threw the door to his office open, then froze once his eyes landed upon Hadrian, Peeves, and the painting that grumbled at being interrupted again, “My terrible replacement! The hate of my eternal soul, how could you let this happen! Peeves brought a random kid to your office! He’s not even a student!” The painting of the old headmaster, Armando Dippet, yelled at Dumbledore who was still staring blankly at this whole situation. After a few seconds of taking in the situation Dumbledore took a breath and gave a big smile that Hadrian could tell was fake. “Oh don’t pull that now, Replacement! You manipulative old co-” The painting's ramblings were cut off as Dumbledore waved his wand expelling the painting to God’s only know whereabouts, the poor painting, went(Hadrian wanted to know so decided to ask his Aunts and Uncles when he got back home.)“Ignore him young one, I am Dumbledore the Headmaster and you look much too young to be in my care at this school. What are you doing here?” The old Headmaster asked as he motioned for Hadrian to take a seat. Dumbledore took his own seat, his eyes never once leaving Hadrian. At this point Peeves seemed to think it was taking too long and wandered off to locate The Sorting Hat.“Uhmmm….Papa said I can’t tell anyone my name.” Hadrian said, clearly uncomfortable with the situation“Oh but that just won’t do. I must know the name of whomever has broken into my school.” Dumbledore said in a false kind voice which Hadrian hated.Hadrian was about to make an excuse as to why he couldn’t give the old foul his name but was cut off as something was draped over his head and covered his eyes. Hadrian froze for a second as his vision went dark. He calmed slightly when he heard Peeves' laughter and a grumble coming from Dumb-as-door.‘Ahhhh! Quite the challenge you are! Mhhhhh, where to put you?’ Something murmured into Hadrian's mind, making him jump in surprise.“Wh-what?” Hadrian asked out loud‘Oh dear boy, there is no need for that! Just think about it and I will know!’ The thing whispered into his mind‘What are you doing!? How are you in my mind?’‘Well dear boy, I am The Sorting Hat! I am here to tell you, your house!’‘But why are you in my mind?’‘I must read your past to see what house you go in! The only problem is that you’re as kind as a Hufflepuff, as sly as a Slytherin, have a thirst for knowledge only the best of Ravenclaws can match, and a heart of gold with courage to spare like a true Gryffindor! You fit everywhere and so I shall put you everywhere!’“‘What! What doe-’“Hufflepuff!” The hat yelled out happily and Dumbledore sighed in relief“Oh, you are a Huffle-” Dumbledore was cut off quickly as the hat continued“Slytherin!” The hat called out again and Dumbledore’s face scrunched up in disgust“Wha-” Dumbledore was cut off again and Hadrian held back a giggle at the hat not even letting the old coot have a word.“Ravenclaw!” The hat yelled and Dumbledore was getting angry. He stood and slammed his fists on his desk clearly losing all patients that he had been faking before.“Now hold o-” Dumbledore yelled“Gryffindor!” The hat yelled out smugly before seeming very happy with itself.Peeves was cackling in the background as Dumbledore went to ask Hadrian another question. Peeves being the jokester he decided Dumbledore wasn’t getting his questions answered and quickly put his arms under Harian’s. Hadrian let out a yelp as Peeves yanked him from this seat making The Sorting Hat fall from his head to the desk. Peeves turned and flew away once again at top speed through the hallways of Hogwarts and Dumbledore’s yells could be heard from all around Hogwarts that day.Hadrian was then brought back to Death's domain and Peeves quickly took his leave to avoid the anger of Death and Life. Hadrian went back home happily that day and Peeves went and informed the Founders of Hadrian's houses. They all agreed that it was for the best that Hadrian was in all their houses.Death and Life wouldn’t be informed their son had already been sorted and so they stayed blissfully unaware of the impending storm and the unusual friends Hadrian had made that day.Hadrian's appearance also influenced 2 red heads who had been in the Great Hall for dinner that night. They seemed to think it was all an elaborate prank which was the best idea ever! I mean how else to make school fun other than pulling pranks? They both decided that's how they would be spending the rest of their school years! Making school interesting and fun for everyone. That is how the demon twins came to be and how Hadrian effectively doomed the school and created the Marauders 2.0!
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Character Descriptions since I forgot to do them at first!Harry: He still has his startling green eyes and his raven black hair. With him not being abused by the Durleys he is a little taller and isn’t skin and bones even if he still has a slimmer body type. Him spending so much time in the underworld has affected his appearance as well, giving him an all around wild vibe and making his green eyes seem to swirl with all kinds of green instead of the plain green they were. His skin is very light, almost a cream color, because of how little sunlight there was in the underworld.Death: Death is normally seen in his cloak when out and about. The cloak is pitch black with flowy sleeves and hood that casts a dark shadow over his face hiding it completely. When he has his cloak/hood off he is quite handsome, with his black hair often messy and fluffed up from his hood. He has dark black eyes that are like the void and milky white skin. He has sharp features and a more built body type like someone who lifts weights and goes to the gym daily.*-------------------------------*Death and Life’s relationship is interesting to say the least. They raised a kid together, they lived in the same house together, they even shared an office (cause it was easier than teleporting when someone bursts into one of their offices to say something crazy Hadrian had done.) They got used to this. They were at each other's side every moment of every day, by coincidence, of course… Well that’s what they tell everyone when asked.Hadrian seemed to think differently though. He used every chance to call Papa & Dad happily to them in front of people. He made sure every ghost he met knew they were BOTH his parents and not just one of them. He even went as far as demanding they all spend time together as a “family”. He seemed to think that they were a traditional family with 2 parents happily in love with a bouncing baby boy(Himself) whom they loved dearly. The only part of that statement they would deny would be that they were in love.Death & Life had grown attached to these things. They would both say they were only attached to Hadrian and that they only hung out to take care of him, but neither seemed to realize they had grown attached to each other, on the long road of parenthood. Neither had ever felt love, true love, other than familial love for their darling son, so neither of them knew what the emotion, that would flutter in their chest or hum happily when around the other, actually was. They seemed to think it an annoyance, something that was getting in their way of raising their son. I mean, how are they to raise Hadrian if at any time their eyes would drift to the other, unwillingly might I add. It was starting to become a problem, it was almost like they were obsessed with each other, which just absolutely couldn’t be true! No way it could be true! This annoyance had finally caught up with Death and now in an attempt to fix it he was distancing himself from Life. On family days he would focus mainly on Hadrian, trying his best not to take a long glance at his belove-his co-parent.Only his co-parent, nothing more! He had to get that in his head. It had to stick at some point right? The feeling will be gone soon, he just knew it. Death was trying damn hard to remember that Life, his beloved, the lov-NO! His co-parent. CO-PARENT! That is what Life is, that is all Life is to him! He just couldn’t get his stupid stupid thoughts to agree with him but so be it. Death would keep trying to fix what he saw as a problem.Life was angry, angry at himself, angry at Death, angry at his emotion and thoughts, and most of all he was just angry. It was a rage fueled by sorrow, sadness, and longing. He longed to be near Death which was strange. Death is his sworn opposite, the person he fights in every mortal story book. Death wasn’t supposed to hold his thoughts captive for days, Death wasn’t supposed to be the one he wished to stand beside through thick and thin. Life knew he shouldn’t think that way! He knew it was wrong but it was so intoxicating and he couldn’t keep his eyes off him, not for a second. The deep longing was a problem because Life couldn’t do anything without Death close by. Life couldn’t focus on anything without knowing Hadrian and Death were both safe. Life always knew Hadrian was safe because both he and Death had loaded Hadrian up with as many magical protection they could think up but Life never knew when Death was safe, his magic doesn’t work on his opposite so how was he to know Death was safe without being by his side at all times? If they weren’t at the other side then how would they know the other was safe? Alive? Content? Happy? Lov-NO! Alive and safe, those are the only worries for the other! Nothing more, nothing less…but neither seemed to think that was enough, not for them at least but what to do about that longing? Death was sure Life didn’t want that and Life was positive that Death wouldn’t want it either and so they held their tongues, just letting the longing build and build hoping, praying the feelings would leave them alone but that's not how love works, no matter if they knew it was love or not. This longing was building and building since they began to raise Hadrian together, spending every second of everyday raising their son. Neither seemed to realize that the longing started much before…millenia before… The first time they met was the true start of it all, it was love at first sight but they were opposite so how would they ever love each other? So they buried those feelings and they ignored them but now that they spend so much time together their feelings are growing and growing out of the small box they had squashed them into at the beginning of time. All this longing and feelings came out on what started as an average day. Hadrian had gone off somewhere to cause chaos, again, and Life and Death sat silently at their desks trying to stop their eyes from wandering over to the other. They had been ignoring each other for weeks now and it was starting to become impossible to keep up.They wanted…no..needed. They need the other in so many ways and them ignoring each other was not helping that feeling. Even to hear the others' voices would be enough, to catch the others eye just for a second. Anything at this point, they would accept anything at all. Life's mind had started to spiral with worry “What if he hates me? Does he hate me? Why else would he be ignoring me? Did I do something? Why won’t he just look at me!?” as Life’s mind spiraled, Death was in his own spiral…his was a little different though…he was having a possessive spiral. Worrying about what Life was thinking about as his own mind screamed at him to take and protect which was worrying and adorable in its own unique ways. The work on their desks have been forgotten for a while as both Life and Death had the internal struggle for the longing they both wanted but seemed to refuse they could get it. Finally both their wills snapped and they looked up at the same time catching each other's eyes making Life's chest fluttered with happiness and Death felt the possessiveness in him growl in content and the need for more.“Death I-”“Life, I am-” Death and Life spoke at the same time. A small smile graced Life's lips as he fidgeted with his hands. Death saw Life’s shy look and gave a small smile of his own as he stood from his desk to walk over to Life. Death took a deep breath “Life, I am sorry I was trying to ignore you…I was…dealing…with something that I did want you to get caught up in.” Death apologized and Life’s head shot up to look at death.“Oh thank the heavens.” Life breathed out like a weight was lifted from his shoulders, “I thought I had done something to make you mad at me!” Life sighed out.“What! No, no never! I would never ignore you for something like that! I wouldn’t do that to you.” Death assured quickly and Life looked ready to crumble with relief.“You had me so worried.” Life said, Death reassurance having relieved the anxiety a little bit.“I’m sorry for that as well. Know that I wouldn’t ignore you just because you make me angry sometimes. I know you have anxiety and that would just be cruel…I was just dealing with something and didn't wanna hurt your feelings with it!” Death explains quickly as he puts a hand on Life's shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. That kinda pissed Life off, after all the sadness and anxiety that’s his excuse?! He had been suffering anyway! Now Death was saying he didn’t wanna hurt his feelings! Well to fucking late for that! “You didn’t spare my feelings, Death! You just gave my anxiety fuel all under the guise of keeping me happy! Well I wasn’t happy or content! I was scared! Scared that you were leaving me! Scared that you hated me!” Life admitted sadness and fear bubbled in their voice even if he tried to hide it. Tears tried to well in Life’s eyes but he pushed them down. Even though Life tried to hide his tears Death saw them and it made his heart shatter.“N-no! Life, I can assure you that is not what I had intended to happen! You must believe me, I would never do that to you!” Death said quickly, the words stuck in his throat as his heart hurt at having accidently hurt Life. Death had tentatively reached out to cup Life’s cheek both in comfort and the need to hold, to fix the sadness he had brought to his eternal love… Finally he could admit it to himself… He loved Life, hell he was in love with Life and the fact that he had just hurt him, even if it was only emotionally and even if it was unintentional he had still hurt him. It still ate him up inside and the fact Life was on the verge of crying made his heart squeeze with sadness and regret.Life sniffled softly and leaned into Death’s hand on his cheek… He was sad and angry but mostly sad and now emotionally drained from all his emotions spilling out after weeks of pushing them away. Life both wanted to push Death away to be mad at him and to curl up against him and to just lay in his safe embrace. Life opted for the comfort option and quickly moved to lean against Death, nuzzling his head into the crook of Death's neck as small tears formed in his eyes.Death was surprised to say the least. However his surprise did not stop him from slowly wrapping his arms around Life’s small frame pulling him closer to him in a protective hold. “I’m sorry.” Death whispered out as he placed his head atop Life’s. Death couldn’t penpoint what he was apologizing for… Whether it was for hurting Life, making him worry and fret over losing him, or if it was for ignoring Life, or maybe even for denying his feelings in the first place. No matter what he was actually apologizing for he knew one thing for sure he would never make Life feel like this again. He would never do this to his beloved again and that was something he would swear on his own immortal life.Life nuzzled closer to him letting out soft sniffles as he stifled his crying and held back the tears of both pain and relief. He felt safe and carried for and a bunch of other feelings that he had never felt in his long long lifetime and it was both exhilarating and intoxicating which scared Life more than anything ever had. With little hesitation Death gently ran his hand up and down Life's back in a motion that he hoped was calming to the sniffling God of Life. Life leaned into Death's touch and let out a soft sigh at the soothing and gentle touch of Death. It definitely helped melt his fears and worries away, the worries that plagued him for weeks were whipped away like nothing just from the touch of Death. After a few minutes of just standing in each other's embrace Life pulled back slightly to look up at Death with reddened eyes. With a light sniffle Life gave Death a small smile as he reached up to rub at his already red eyes. Life was just about to say something when the door to their shared office bursted open… The first thing they noticed was Hadrian, their darling son, running into the room at top speed with something they couldn’t make out held in his hands…The next thing that they saw was a small white and gold blur running right behind their son who was now running around their desks like a bat out of hell…The third and final thing noticed was the soft hissing coming from whatever Hadrian was holding and quiet yipping from the white and gold blur. Both Death and Life just watched in confusion as their son tumbled into them making Life stumble as Death's arms around him tightened to keep him up. Hadrian was out of breath as he looked up at his parents with a brilliant smile and he held out a small snake and as Life caught the snake’s yellow slitted eyes he felt a chill run up his spine and his body turn cold. Life blinked and quickly looked away from the snake with a huff. Death was lucky to have not looked into the baby basilisk’s eyes because even if they were immortal to die was a weird feeling nonetheless.“Darling…Why do you have a basilisk?” Life asked in the most even tone he could muster after his crying session“It’s Sima!” Hadrian replied happily as he pushed the baby basilisk towards Death who was just looking down at the baby basilisk which he was sure wasn’t from his domain“Had’s, my little raven, where did you get a LIVING basilisk?” Death asked while trying to keep the concern from his voice“Uncle Lok’s gave him to me, I named him Sima! And Aunty Arte gave me Angel!” Hadrian said happily as he turned to look at the small white and gold fox that had laid down at his feet.“Oh…” Life said lightly as he now stared down at a very powerful kitsune, whose 10 tails swayed happily, that seemed to just be pleased to be in Hadrian’s presence. “Hadrian, darling… Could you please set Sima down.” Life asked gently as he made sure not to look into the eyes of the basilisk again.“Finnneeee!” Hadrian huffed as he leaned down and sat the basilisk onto top of Angel who just gave a huff as Sima snuggled into his fur.“Thank you, darling.” Life breathed out as he walked from Death's embrace to stand in front of Hadrian. “If you plan to keep Angel and Sima then you must take care of them, understand?” Life asked Hadrian gently and Hadrian nodded. “Good, that would also mean making sure no one else looks into baby Sima’s eyes. You see he is a basilisk so that means looking into his eyes could turn someone to stone. With Sima being so young he doesn’t know how to control this power so you’ll have to keep him in check, ok?” Life reasoned and Hadrian nodded along as Death watched both the man that he loved and their son have such a serious but adorable conversation about Had’s new pets. You could practically see the hearts in Death's eyes as he watched them talk. Finally, both Death and Life realized the true depths of their feelings for one another… They also found out why letting Hadrian visit his Uncle Loki and Aunty Arimes’s place always ends badly…Now their chaotic son had access to a very venomous, dangerous snake and a very powerful but young 10 tailed kitsune of a royal line of kitsune…That's gonna be interesting.
