“Have you finished reading it yet?” Hermione walked into her husband’s office, arms crossed, magic crackling. It was an amendment to the Marriage and Repopulation Act she was proposing on the floor of Wizengamot in just two days and she’d just given it to him to review. He was a prat, but an intelligent one, and she wanted him to grill her on the details before the fossilised excuses for wizards did in front of the press. “Hmm,” he mumbled, not looking up from the papers in his hand. It was only then that Hermione looked over his desk and saw her Act, still with the twine wrapped around it, her handwritten note asking for his feedback still tucked in the front. “You haven’t even started it!” she huffed, her hands going to her hips. “Believe it or not darling, I do have work of my own that keeps me somewhat occupied. It may not be a fool's errand of freeing Narglewhimps or whatever creature has your sympathies this week, but it does need to be done. I’ll read your Act when I’m finished.”He didn’t look up at her as he spoke. And the way he said darling, made the word sound like a joke. Which she supposed it was. They’d been matched against their will and married off nine months prior with a magically bound mandate to consummate and an unspoken one to procreate. They’d dutifully done the first and artfully avoided the second. Still, regardless of how they got into this predicament, Hermione couldn’t stand to be ignored. Not by anyone but especially not by Malfoy. “It won’t take very long, you could do it now, while I waited. It’s only a few pages,” she said, trying to encourage him. “And I have a meeting at 11:45 about these particular contracts, which is in-” Draco finally looked away from his papers only to glance at his watch, “-25 minutes.”Eyes straight back to the documents. Hermione ground her back teeth. There was one guaranteed way to get her husband's attention. It was just a matter of if she was bold enough to initiate it in the middle of a work day in his public suite of offices. She had all but discounted the idea until the smug bastard bought a ballpoint pen to his lips and tapped them. That was her pen. The one she had tucked into the twine next to the note where she had asked nicely for his feedback and help to prepare. Without thinking, she grabbed the hem of her shirt and jumper, pulled them over her head, held them out to the side and let them fall to the ground with a thud. The sound grabbed his attention. Head whipped up from the paper to look at her over the top of his reading glasses, pupils dark. She cocked an eyebrow at him in challenge. Initially, it had been a ministry mandate, but they had both found that they quite enjoyed… consummating. “Mr Malfoy, your next meeting is here early,” Draco’s secretary’s voice screeched through the intercom, interrupting the moment. Hermione sighed and went to retrieve her discarded clothes when Draco muttered something and she realised she could not move her feet from the floor. “Thank you, Pamela,” Draco pushed a button and spoke into the machine, “Make them comfortable with coffee and I’ll be with them in just a moment.”Far from looking rushed, Draco leaned back in his chair and leisurely perused Hermione’s body. He pulled off his reading glasses, chewing on the end of one arm while looking her up and down. Her nipples pebbled against the peach-coloured lace of her bra under his gaze and she tried to move again, wanting to cover herself and leave him to his meeting. If she immediately went home to take care of herself… well that was neither here nor there. “Do you mind?” she asked, gesturing to her feet when she realised they were still stuck. “Not at all, ” he said, tossing the glasses to the desk and crossing his arms across his chest. Hermione tried not to look at the way his forearms flexed with the movement. “You have a meeting,” she said after a minute when he made no motion to release the sticking charm. “Yes, I know. I believe I told you about it when you came in. Before you had your impatient little temper tantrum,” Draco replied, standing and walking to the front of his desk where he picked up her amendment, carefully thumbing the top of the pages. “You have successfully gained my attention, darling, shall we go over it now?”“You don’t have time,” she hissed “Yes, I also told you that earlier. But as always, the brilliant Hermione Granger knew better.”Hermione scowled at him, wondering just what exactly had crawled up his arse and died there. Admittedly, she may have been slightly persistent, but his current choices seemed like a massive overreaction. “Thankfully, I don’t need to read this to give you my feedback. I bet I can guess exactly what is in it,” Draco said, putting the packet of papers back on his desk, “Shall I make some assumptions and you can either confirm or deny?”Without waiting for her to answer he moved behind her and Hermione couldn’t see him. Only feel as he stood so closely that the heat of him scorched her back. He brought one hand to rest on her hip, holding her steady.“You open with allusions to the war; in part to remind everyone how quickly tyranny can take hold, but also as a subtle way to stress that they are in the presence of Hermione Fucking Granger, saviour of the wizarding world, and they should show her the respect she deserves.”There was no cruelty in his tone, if anything, the tenor of his voice supported the assertion. That alone was enough for Hermione to feel a swirl of arousal in her abdomen, but then he had to drag his fingers across her shoulders, sweeping her hair to the side, leaving a trail of goosebumps in his wake. “I’ll need confirmation when I’m right love, or this will take much longer than it needs to. And it would be a terrible shame if Pamela came walking through that door to check what’s keeping me.”Hermione swallowed and nodded.“Excellent, one point to me,” he said, allowing his lips to brush the shell of her ear and his fingers to follow the straps of her bra down her decolletage and ghost the tops of her breasts. “Then you would have summarised the current state of affairs, complete with statistics that show the high number of marriages and consummations and the still dwindling birth rates. They would have been current to the day. You’re nothing if not thorough.”Without warning, he yanked the cup of her bra down, exposing her breast to the cold air, taking her nipple in between his thumb and forefinger and applying the exact amount of pressure that she liked. Hermione longed to lean her head back to the crook of his neck and lose herself to the sensation but she couldn’t, not with the low murmur of voices just outside the door. “Draco,” she croaked, trying to fight against her desire, “is the door locked?”“No,” he said, moving his lips from her ear to her neck and nipping sharply before soothing the sting with his tongue. “Can you lock it?” she sighed, ready to give in to him completely. “No little lion, if you are bold enough to interrupt my work day and demand my attention in the middle of my public office. Well, it only seems fitting that you risk the natural consequences.”His fingers danced to her other breast and circled her nipple so close to where she wanted him to touch, never getting close enough. Hermione let out an impatient whimper. “You owe me a confirmation, Hermione. Was I right? Did you follow up with statistics?”“Yes,” Hermione breathed, squirming in his embrace, trying not to think about how many minutes out of twenty-five they had already used.“I thought so, two points,” Draco sighed, burying his face in her curls and breathing deeply, “Next you would have more research, this time on alternatives. Knowing the books you currently have on your bedside table, I’m assuming they were linked to mental health and improving general wellbeing, although, given your meeting with that Muggle economics professor last month, I’m guessing you threw in some financial incentives for families as well.”Draco’s words came easily, reciting the details of her life as he would describe the morning's weather. His hand left her breasts and meandered down her stomach, dipping inside the waistband of her jeans and stroking the skin at the top of her knickers. “Yes,” Hermione gasped at the touch, although it served equally well as confirmation of the nature of her bill. Draco’s hand didn’t progress further, just drew small circles on the sensitive skin of her lower belly, all the while whispering into her ear, his lips brushing against the skin as he did. “Three points; I’m impressing even myself.” He flicked open the button of her jeans and eased down the zipper. With her feet stuck to the floor, there was no way to take them off completely and Hermione wondered if he was going to release her. Allow her to turn and pull him backwards until she was sitting on the edge of his desk, legs splayed. However, he did no such thing, just returned his fingers to her belly and played with the waistband on her underwear, his fingers dipping further inside them but never going low enough to feel the moisture that was building, to create friction where it was so desperately needed.“Finally, you finished with a rousing cry of hope, evoking the virtuous world that you believe possible and are too damn stubborn to see that most everyone else does not. Yet, I’d wager you are so damn persuasive that for a moment, anyone listening will think it achievable.”The hand that Draco had kept firmly on her hip came up to her chin and tilted her head to the side, so he could capture her lips with his own. The kiss was soft and sweet. A stark contrast to his hands throughout this whole exchange. Hermione broke away just long enough to confirm his guess and waited for him to award himself another point. He remained silent though, choosing to kiss her again, to slip his tongue deeper into her mouth. His hand sliding further into her underwear, pointer pressing, inching down. Hermione whimpered. So close. It would not take much and she would be undone by his hands.“There’s just one problem with your amendment, my little witch,” he said, his hand pausing millimetres from where Hermione wanted it, “You’ll no doubt convince the Wizengamot to overturn their law, but what exactly do you plan to do with me afterwards?”Hermione’s heart stuttered and she tried to twist to look at him. Was this the cause of his foul mood? Was this why he’d ignored her papers and request for help? “Draco?” she asked, wishing she could see his face.“It was unexpected, but,” Draco signed and withdrew his hand from her underwear, “I thought we’d done well together, you and I.”“We have,” Hermione agreed and felt the sticking charm let go of her feet and she turned to face him, surprised to see the anguish on his features.“Once you deliver that amendment,” he said shaking his head. “Once I deliver that amendment, we’ll both have a choice,” she said and Draco ran his fingers through his hair, not looking at her, “Draco, I’d choose you.”It turned out there were two guaranteed ways to get her husband’s attention. “Me?” he said, his grey eyes burning into hers, and Hermione suspected he was fighting against himself to look inside her mind and see if she was telling the truth.“Yes,” she said, shrugging and trying to look dignified in her current state of undress, “I’ve grown quite fond of you. I mean not at this exact moment given you’ve left me soaking knickers and no chance to do anything about it given you have a meeting that starts in, I don’t know-”Hermione went to grab Draco’s watch to check the time and see exactly how long she had to dress before Pamela saw more of her than the poor woman ever needed to. She didn’t have a chance; Draco’s hand wrapped around her wrists like manacles. “Fuck my meeting,” he said, walking her backwards until the desk hit the back of her thighs. “You’d chose to be mine?” he asked, voice throaty and Hermione looked up at him. “I mean, I prefer to think of us more as partners but-”Draco cut her off with a kiss, his hands in her curls pulling her forward into him. “Mine,” he repeated with a desperation foreign to Hermione, “and I am yours. That’s how this works now. Do you understand?”Hermione gazed at her husband and slowly nodded. Not breaking eye contact, his hand slid back into her underwear and fingers parted her folds. “So, so many points for me,” he said as he felt exactly how wet she was and Hermione rolled her eyes.“Only after you make me come,” she challenged and with a smirk Draco plunged two fingers into her cunt. She was already soaked. Naturally, the man had been teasing her while reciting her amendment for… how long was it? 20 minutes? 25?As if summoned, there was a knock on the door.“Mr Malfoy, the gentlemen from Alchemical Navigations are getting restless,” Pamela called through the door. “Send them in in exactly 3 minutes,” replied Draco and Hermione started to scramble. He could not be serious. He was going to leave her on the edge of an orgasm again?“Where do you think you are going, wife? Do I need to use a sticking charm again?” Draco smiled against the skin of her neck. “People are coming in here… soon!” Hermione said through clenched teeth, trying to focus on logic and not the shivers of pleasure that came every time Draco’s finger brushed against the elusive spot inside her that he was so talented at pressing.“That just means you have a time limit. Three minutes to come all over my fingers, or the magical map guys are going to get quite a show.”“You can not be serious,” Hermione groaned, moving her hips in rhythm with the thrusts of Draco’s hand. “You’ll find when it comes to you I am completely serious, in every conceivable manner. Come on little lion. You started this.” She had started it and she was going to finish. Hermione leaned back on her elbows and let herself focus completely on Draco and his hands. For two more minutes, the people outside the door didn’t exist, laws and amendments didn’t either. It was just her and Draco and the now-spoken agreement that they would choose each other. Draco knew her perfectly, and her desires for pacing and pressure were all expertly executed, with only her nonsensical sighs as feedback. As she reached her peak, Draco’s fingers traced the planes of her face before coming to rest on her cheek.“Hermione,” he said, “look at me.”She opened her eyes to see his stormy gaze fixing her. “Mine,” he repeated and with the word, she broke apart around him. There was only a few seconds after. Just enough time for the shockwaves to subside and for Draco to drop a kiss on her forehead and whisper a few tender words. Then he was hurrying, gathering her clothes and ensuring she was presentable. He‘d just tucked her curls behind her ears as the door swung open and Pamela ushered a trio of middle-aged men in suits into the room. With a wink, Draco turned to them and Hermione let herself out. “My apologies gentleman,” she heard Draco say through the door, “I had business with my wife, and I can assure you, she always has priority.”
