I wake up in the middle of a forest, clueless of where I am.*Aren't I supposed to be dead..? How did I get here..*All I remember before waking up were my last moments hanging on my ceiling. Now I was presumably far from home. I look down at my legs as I freeze in fear. My body was completely covered in an off-white color. Old dried up cuts remained on my right arm. Everything felt like a fever dream. Confused, I stood up and started walking around looking for any possible answers or explanations. I walked off into surrounding trees, blocking the sunlight. Insects buzzed while leaves swayed down to the ground. I was terrified. Never in my life have I been somewhere so remote without my parents. I never really went anywhere without my parents. This was surely a new experience. Minutes went by, walking by an endless amount of trees. I was losing hope. I might as well have thought I'd die once again. Every footstep I took I lost more hope. Suddenly I see a small patch of land, light shining and no trees around it. As I got closer I saw a small pillar in the center of the circle-like patch of land. I finally come in contact with the pillar but nothing happens. With hope lost, I was about to leave until I hear a voice from behind me."I see you found your way here, you must be really confused""Yeah I think I'd like to know what's going on" I let out a nervous voice as I turned around. A tall, white figure leaned aside the pillar. A large blue halo surrounded his head at a tilt. "I would like to know where the hell I am""Well, I brought ya back to life, aren't you happy about that?""Happy? I literally tried to kill myself what makes you think I'm happy to be alive again. I didn't have anything to even live for back in my household nor the outside world.""Trust me I'm sure you'll be glad about it one day.""Right." I let out a deep sigh as I start to walk away."Hey not so fast, I need to ask for a favor"I turn back around with a tired expression. "Sure I guess what do you want.""Come closer, I have something special to give ya."I take steps forward, nervously awaiting him to do something. I get close enough where he can come in contact with me as I stretch my arms forward and open my arms. Suddenly he places something in my arm. It took the appearance of a pink wand."Heard pink was your favorite color, isn't it?"I stood there for a second. "I mean, yeah. Lucky guess?" I stand still awkwardly not knowing what to do."I know a lot about you ya know? I've planned this experience to be in your favor to say the least""Sounds, off-putting. Can you at least tell me what this thing you gave me does.""Of course! Just press that lil' button near the top. I suggest backing up a little."I do as told and take a few steps back. I press the small heart shaped button near the tip of the tube-like object. Suddenly a long pink blade formed. Light shined from its presence."W-what is this..?" I stared at the weapon, mesmerizing it in a way, yet still fearful."It's a scythe, I'm sure ya loved using those in your video games if I'm correct.""Scarily correct that is. Anyway what do you want me to do with this..""Well... I'm giving you this because I thought you'd be the perfect person to take the role as a new god, sounds cliche but I really do think so.""Me, a god? You have the wrong person I didn't sign up for this.""I'm sure I have the right person. Cerys, correct?""I mean, yeah that's my name..""Great! I figure that I should spice up your name and look, really need you fitting the part!"*Part? What does this all mean..*He takes my scythe from my hand and twirls it rapidly in the air. By the time he catches the scythe, something new is carved out onto the side of it."Ai?""Yup! Just another word for love, I think the name would fit you real well. I don't wanna forget your head wear!"He clasps his hands together as something forms in the middle of it. A light flashed so brightly that my eyes had shut immediately. He puts something on my head although I don't feel it touch my head."There, now you truly fit the role!" A smile lit on his face.I look at the reflection through my scythe. I looked in fear.*My eye to the left of me is just... an X on my face.*"Ah. You just saw your eye didn't you. Well you're seeing perfectly fine aren't you? You haven't noticed the difference 'til now so I'm sure you'll be fine."I stare back down at my reflection, a pink halo-like ring wrapped around the top of my head.*I guess I do look kind of cool-*"Like whatcha see?""Yeah yeah it's cool and all but what do you even want me to do. If it's so important you had to bring me back to life then this better be good.""Well as I already mentioned, I think you'd be the perfect person to be a god, after all I have been watching you go on with daily life for some time now. When I was making the lil' ring of yours it takes a lot of stamina for me to make. Even for a person like me who is of the highest status a god can have, making these things are no joke. All of the strength I use to give you the powers that come with that thing is kinda exhausting you know.""Powers? The more random things you bring up the more you confuse me." All of this new information was going to give me a headache."Well you can do a whole lot of things. You got the power to control people's feelings with the feeling of love. You can make them love or hate you or anyone for that matter! Isn't that cool? I picked out and crafted these powers specifically for you.""Woah woah what makes you think anyone loved me if I had the need to kill myself, you sure you've done research?""Trust me it'll come in handy eventually."*Ugh why does he always have to be "mysterious" with this why would I ever even use this niche ability anyway?*"Anyway, I'm glad I finally got to meet you Ai! My name's Arc, I kinda just help other gods whether its just giving consultation or to help them out during desperate times. Before you go, take this compass. It'll lead ya back here when you need me. Now off you go fella-""You're telling me there's more gods with unique abilities? Can I at least get to meet them?""Well... I don't really know where they are, they could be wandering anywhere, but they always know where I am. Surely one day you'll run into one of them."I let out a huge sigh. This really had me wondering how I had gotten myself to this point."Well, see you around Arc. I'll come back if I ever need you."I see Arc smile as he makes his way around the pillar before disappearing into thin air.Thoughts rushed through my mind, everything was shoved down my throat way too fast for me to process. I really wonder, what am I going to do now?
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The compass Arc gave me came with a small chain to attach onto something. I attached it to my scythe just in case I really needed to go back. I doubt I would. I'd probably just die from stupid cause anyway. Regardless, I walked my way through the hundreds of tall trees scattered closely to one another. It felt like an endless journey of nothingness. No matter how long I spent walking to find a way back to the public view, I always end up getting more lost than I was before. At this point it's been about half an hour from what I could tell. Time was something I no longer had access to knowing and damn I never knew how much it sucked. Even if I did make it out of the forest what would people think when they look at me? This was all starting to feel too real.By now the sun had begun to hide away into the darkness. The darker it got the more panic struck me. Who knows what could be in this forest. If I was at least going to die at some point I'd rather kill myself peacefully again instead of getting mauled by a rabid animal. Without anywhere else to go, I found the tallest tree I could find and started stabbing my way up the tree with my scythe. It took a lot of strength to push myself up but I eventually got up to the top. The breeze was much cooler from being so much higher up. The tree was wide enough where I could lay down and sleep without risking my chances of falling. The night sky had taken over the surroundings and all sounds went quiet. I stabbed my scythe into the bark of the tree as I lay down on my back. My eyes started to droop down as I drifted into sleep.Everything was a pure black, until it wasn't. There I see a flashback. A flashback of the last minute before I had let out my last breath. I tried to wake myself up, yet the flashback continued until I wasn't breathing. The moment the flashback ends, the dream cuts to a voice. A familiar voice. It was Arc."W-what are you doing here? I thought you said you couldn't find me." My breathing becomes deeper and forced."Well, you're in a state of deep sleep, so I thought I'd pop up and check up on ya.""Don't you got other gods to check up on? Got any reason to be with me specifically? I'm still not super used to this whole thing but I'm sure I can't be that important.""I guess I really did come here with a reason, so just be on the look out for when ya wake up I got you a lil' somethin'." He lets out a light chuckle, which felt a little creepy but I've learned to not be concerned. "Anyway it's time I go do other things good luck!""Wait but you never told me what you left me! Ugh whatever."Suddenly my head goes back to the black screen. I could feel a leaf fall on my face. I got up, tired and exhausted. There I see next to me, a bow and arrows. The bow was a thin pink one, fits the whole pink theme I was given. A pile of arrows laid right beside, the sharp tip of the arrow being a heart shape. I put my finger against the point of the arrow. I felt the edge poke my finger.*Ah shit.. this thing could kill someone even without me shooting them.*Even the blood that came out from the arrow was pink, none of this felt right. I don't know if I look cool or just blatantly weird. This feeling was off putting. I had no one to talk to about anything, the cut from human interaction was going to get to me at some point. I had to get the thought out of my head somehow. I grabbed my scythe out from the tree and took the bow with me. If I was gonna be given all of this stuff I might as well have my fun with it.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
I found a small tree to test my scythe. I picked it up by the handle and within one fatal swing the tree had collapsed. A loud sound came from its fall, the bird surrounding flying away.*Whoops*My scythe swung a little further, knocking me off my feet.*I have some learning to do..*Then, something hit me. I didn't feel hungry. I didn't feel thirsty. I didn't feel anything. Was this a sign of concern? Worry started to consume my body. It made me feel a feeling I've felt before. One I haven't felt in a few days. It was hard to describe. Maybe it was the feeling of loneliness. It felt, all too familiar. Despite all of... this, I continued to walk off whatever pain I was feeling. Seeing all of the baby birds with their mothers and fathers, seeing flowers sprout next to their companions. I don't want to go back to the place I once called home, yet, I still do.None of this made any sense. Why was I some god, I could barely look after myself. Why was I assigned a position of love, I couldn't even love myself. None of this added up. Everything felt like it was closing up on me. I couldn't get the thought out of my head. Trying to do so only hurt my head. I looked down at my bow, thoughts rushed through my head. It was getting harder to ignore. It's almost like, I had to. It was a cool breezy morning, the sun was bright and not too hot. I lifted my bow, no one could stop me. No one would stop me. The sky illuminated bright, yet all I felt was darkness surrounding me like a storm cloud. Bow was at chin length pointed at me. I know I shouldn't do this. I felt, selfish knowing I was given a second chance just to fuck myself up like this. Someone really deserved the opportunity more than me. An arrow was placed right at the bow's string.*Shit.. this is gonna be painful...*I braced myself for impact, my hand was barely holding onto the string as I pulled it back. A gust of wind hits my face as I see nature continue around me one last time. This fever dream would be over. With the tip of the arrow mere inches from my face, I let go of the string as I shut my eyes. But I was still alive. This doesn't make sense. I should be dead. Yet, I didn't even feel a thing.*What the hell are these arrows?*I tried once again in an attempt to end my life, I grabbed my scythe. I swung it high and tall. A direct blow to my head. Or well, I thought. The scythe had gone directly threw my head without any injuries. No wounds, no blood, no anything. I threw myself onto the ground knees first, all I had left to do was cry. The pain I felt inside was too much. I looked at myself through the reflection of my scythe. There I saw the arrow pierce directly through my head. My face gave off a concerned look. I tried pulling out the arrow but it was no use. It was lodged well into my head. The bottom of the arrow found its way tilted near my chin while the tip made its way to pop out through my head. It was a frightening sight. My tears dried up as I stood up. There wasn't a use trying to kill myself anymore. I need to have a check up with Arc. Maybe he'll know what the consequences of my actions are. I grabbed my compass wondering how to work the thing out. The arrow colored a bright pink pointed straight left of me, the way I had originally came from. I pushed through bushes in hopes that maybe finding Arc will change myself for the better. For once, I felt like I now had a purpose.
