I put the bloody knife back in the sheath; the guards’ bodies have already been taken care of.I unfold the documents, while I make my way toward the secret lair Junko found. Only she could have uncovered such an old passageway with such ease. She probably won’t need these info in the end, but it’s better to have them than to risk missing some hidden camera. At least, that’s what she told me. I didn’t imagine a normal school to have these many hidden cameras, but Hope’s Peak Academy is not a normal school after all. Besides, these documents are recent, the cameras have apparently been updated after last year’s deaths and explosion. Of course, Junko found some of them on the first day of school. When I expressed worry about them making our job more complicated, she laughed in my face and insulted me. The cameras would only make everything more intriguing and fun. As usual, she was right and I was wrong.I enter the base and Junko’s strong scent immediately fills my head, bringing a pathetic smile to my face. The expression disappears immediately as I notice that she’s not alone: tied to a chair there’s a man in his forties, blindfolded, half naked and trembling. Junko is sitting on his lap, eating some fries.“I have the documents you asked for” I hide my jealously and keep my distance, putting the documents on the desk.“Finally! Took you long enough! In that time I could have figured out all the cameras’ positions by myself!” She throws me a fry. I don’t dodge it. She’s not really pissed off, or at least, I don’t believe she is. But she acts like it for some reason. I’m not sure if it’s tied to her boredom or her despair. Probably both.“I am sorry,” I answer like I’m supposed to.“And— Ugh! What the hell is this smell?!” She covers her nose dramatically, before turning around to finally look at me. “You reek! Blood, sweat and what else?! Did you jump in the trash for fun, before coming here?! Go take a shower! I don’t want our room to smell like a dead rat! You can have your reward only once you’re clean, dead rat of a sister!” I’m not sure she is joking this time.“Ah. I’m sorry.”I stand there for a moment, hesitating. I don’t want to leave the room. I don’t want to leave her delicious smell. I want my reward. But angering Junko would only bring to worse outcomes, so I quickly get out of the room. Our dormitories, which include the showers, are on the other side of the school. I’m sure she wants me to use those, even if it’s only because I’d have to walk all the way there and back, instead of using the ones in the gym. I don’t have a problem with that, so I start walking in the night, on alert that no one sees me like this. On my way I smell my clothes, but of course I can’t smell the blood. I’m not surprised, I can’t smell anything. Almost anything. I can still smell her on my clothes. Junko. My Junko. Her smell is the best possible thing in the world. No, it’s the third, after her taste and her entirety.I reach the dorms, my room and I enter the bathroom.I make sure to wash carefully every inch of my body. I could lie to myself and say that I’m doing it so carefully so that I wouldn’t appear suspicious, but it’s obvious that I just don’t want to disappoint Junko more than it’s inevitable to do. I can’t stop thinking about her, it’s expected, but I wonder how we would be if we were normal. If we weren’t a fork and a cake. We found out that Junko was a cake when we were children. A stranger, a fork, tried to kidnap her, probably with the intention of eating her, but the police managed to stop him before he could escape. They didn’t explain us the reason of why that happened for years after the incident, but I remember Junko’s cries turning into a smile as soon as we were left alone, after she was saved. She told me that she was kidnapped because she was special, obviously. At the time I didn’t know how right she was.For years that incident remained just a distant memory that we could forget about, until one day, when I was twelve or thirteen, I’m not sure, I entered in Junko’s room and I felt a real smell for the first time. Before that, I had never realized I couldn’t taste or smell anything. Everything tasted like nothing, so I didn’t have anything for comparison, like someone born blind that can’t imagine what sight is like. That all changed when I smelled Junko’s perfume for the first time, when I found out I was a fork. I was scared at the time, worried, as the incident’s memory resurfaced my mind, but Junko seemed ecstatic about it. She was curious, she wanted to know what she tasted like, but I didn’t know what to say. How could I know what other tastes were like? Junko tasted like Junko and she still does. It’s the best thing in the world. No, it’s the second. Despite her excitement, I remained scared and things just got worse after she started teasing me, getting closer to me, making me smell her clothes, lick her skin, eat her hair and saliva. I couldn’t sleep at night. I couldn’t focus on anything. I craved more and more of that taste, but I didn’t want to hurt my sister. Did she know how crazy she was making me? Yes. Thinking about it now, it’s obvious that she was feeding off my despair, while I fed off her smell and taste. Then, one day, she offered me to drink her blood. I did it and afterwards I couldn’t even look at her without the impulse of throwing myself at her, of biting her, of eating her. So I ran away from home. It seemed like the only option at the time. I decided to become a soldier so that I could learn to control myself. It worked, to some degree.I close the water. I lost myself in the memories. How long has it been? I took too long. I need to get back. Now. I need my reward, if she’ll be kind enough to give it to me.The walk back is more of a run back, trying to be as silent as possible as I move from one shadow to the other, like I’ve done so many times to hide from an enemy. Somehow this time my heart beats much faster than in those occasions. The statue. The stairs. The room. I take a moment to catch my breath before entering the room, looking calm.“You’re late,” she doesn’t turn to look at me, “and you smell of sweat. If I wasn’t in a good mood, you’d go to bed without your dinner, dead rat!” I don’t talk. I didn’t even consider the sweat. I simply nod, an emotionless and controlled expression on my face, but inside I’m jumping from joy, as I look at the reason of her good mood; the man is still tied on the chair, but parts of him are on the table now: an ear, a couple of teeth, one finger, one eye.“Is he part of the plan?” The question seems obvious to me.“Not everything I do is part of the plan! Sometimes I just want to have fun! Geez, shut up if you have to say stupid shit!” It wasn’t obvious.“No,” she doesn’t give me time to apologize, “this one is just a creepy pedo teacher. He’s a fork, like you, you know? And he also smells like you!” I don’t like being compared to him. “I found that he was planning on doing some pervy shit to some cake student, so I decided to give him what he wants! He can lick me as long as he gives me a payment of my choice and look! He has paid so much already!” She gestures toward the body parts on the table. “He’s so desperate, it’s adorable!”I nod. I don’t like this. I don’t like the idea that he can lick Junko. But I keep it for myself. I can’t have Junko for myself, after all. She’s special, she decides who gets to eat her. Speaking of which...“Uhm... Junko?”“What do you want again? I’m having fun, don’t you see?!” she turns around to look at me, annoyed, but as she sees me her expression changes in one of surprise and then a smile: I’ve started to tremble myself and I’m drooling, as much as I try to keep it under control. I want to taste her, I’m going crazy. I can’t endure watching her feed someone else.“I see... my little and useless sister can’t endure on her own anything! What are you, a spoiled brat? Well, luckily for you, your amazing and beautiful and brilliant and perfect sister is here for you! This one has already bored me.” Without a second thought she grabs a knife and stabs the man in the throat. Then, she takes my hand, which makes me lose my breath, as she drags me in a smaller adjacent room, before we can watch him die.She takes a chair and points at it. The whole atmosphere has changed, I think. I don’t talk and I sit on the chair, my eyes don’t move from her. She’s looking at me amused and her scent is wrapping me in a blanket of ecstasy. I don’t dare to move, until she walks up to me and climbs on my lap. My hands wrap around her waist and it takes my whole force of will in order not to rip the meat from her bones. I could do that. I am strong enough. But I can’t do that to my sister.“Open up,” she talks and I don’t hesitate. My mouth is wide open. She spits in it and I feel a thousand emotion be born and die in my mouth in just a second, before I swallow her saliva. Each time it’s like the first one. Every time I’m not eating her, I forget how good it truly feels, until the next time. Eating Junko is better than killing, it’s better than holding a knife. It’s better than fighting. It’s almost better than serving Junko. This could be enough, but I don’t dare to say it. And I’m rewarded for it immediately after: her mouth closes down, until our lips touch each other, trapping our tongues together. I rub my tongue against hers. Every part of her tastes the same and yet its unique. The texture, the movements, the touch. She caresses my cheek with one hand, scratching it with her red nails. She closes her eyes, but she remains in control. I keep looking at her, as if her sight as well could contribute to the taste. Maybe it does, I don’t know.I have no idea how much time passes before she breaks the kiss, but my tongue doesn’t want to stop, it reaches for hers, but it’s too late. My breath is heavy, I pant, trying to catch desperate breaths of her scent left in the air between us.“My perverted sister is loving this so much, isn’t she? What a loser.” I nod, as she is only saying the truth. She rests her head on my shoulder, an unexpected gesture of which I enjoy every moment.“The plan is starting to be finished in my head.” She starts to talk again, her voice sounds so happy and it makes me happy as well. “Then, we’ll just have to put it into motion. The easy part. There’s some pieces that are missing, but they’ll come to me eventually, like always. The Gods do love me, after all, no?”“They do,” I say and I believe it without a doubt. She raises her head and looks down at me, her smile is full of despair, or is it hope? I don’t understand it. She takes the knife and gets it closer to her wrist. I lick my lips, as I know what that means.“And for my plan, you’ll be essential, dear sister. You’re so useless and smelly and apathetic, but you’ll be a key piece of my plan. Will you follow me ‘till the end, my Mukuro?” The sharp blade presses against her skin, against her veins. The wait in unbearable.“I will, Junko. I’ll follow you until the end and beyond.”“Good sister.”She cuts her vein in a single movement. Blood spills out. Delicious blood. I start to drink it.Tasting her is the best thing in the world.
