Black. All he could see was black. In the inky darkness covering all of what he could see, he saw seas and seas of stars swimming about as his pupils tried following whatever was in front of him. Suddenly, the heavenly bodies surrounding him started shaking and vibrating in great succession. Then, all he knew was pain. Excruciating hurt sounded through his head, but he had no body connected to clutch. He had nothing to hold onto because everything he knew was out of grasp. His eyes were not his eyes, and his brain held no thoughts. The agony traveled through his head and into every tunnel filled with blood cells and pulsating veins. Then, a reverberating noise came through.;Ren gasped, eyes flying open as he tried to reach his senses. What had just happened? His memories swam through his head, stars still dotting his vision and pain tormenting the upper half of his body. One vision clicked in his mind, and he felt his face scrunch involuntarily in pure rage and intense fury. He sat up, mind still juggled with the force of the attack. Once his vision somewhat cleared, he came face to face with a figure he knew all too well and eyes he’d observed far too many times to deem normal.“Yuri, you bitch.” Ren croaked out with all his power. He felt a throbbing sensation in his head again and quickly reached up to hold his head up, eyes scrunching in discomfort and searching for any form of relief.“I remember it being you who started it,” Ren peaked an eye open to see Yuri sticking their tongue out mockingly. “I can’t believe you got knocked out with one kick.”“I can’t believe you kicked me that hard!” Ren whined in defiance, annoyed that he got beaten within five minutes of a spar.“Cut me some slack. It’s not my fault you’re weak as hell!” Yuri snorted at the memory before jumping off the bed and walking into their shared bathroom to put on skincare.
Ren sighed, head still clutched tightly in his grasp as he replayed the embarrassment of his defeat.; One and a half hours ago… ;Ren slammed his hands down on the hotel register counter in aggression, his eyes ablaze with rebellious intent. He felt his emotions spike to a maximum, his mind going haywire, and thoughts sprinting through his brain at 2000 MPH. A defying growl threatened to be released in the back of his throat; however, Ren was fighting with his demons to keep it back.“Ren… don’t make this harder than it needs to be.” Mint warned the young assassin, knowing full well of how he felt toward his “partner.”“Boss, I can’t! You know how I feel about… that creature!” Ren shouted, body swiveling to face his superior as he raised his arms wildly in anger.“Shut the fuck up! There’s no way you’re calling ME a creature when you look like a gargantuan monster just seeing the sun for the first time,” Yuri yelled back, just as offended and rageful as Ren. “Always huffing and puffing like your missions are somethin’ hard…” They muttered, looking away and crossing their arms.“GUYS. I’m not telling you again, okay? YOU TWO are sharing a room, YOU TWO are partners for our current mission, and YOU TWO are NOT going to fuck it up because of some dumbass rivalry you have going on that everybody considers childish and not worth their time.” Mint ranted, fed up and yelling out anything that first came to mind.Yuri rolled her eyes, even more upset than the initial shock now because she couldn’t let Ren be angrier about this than her. That’s how petty they were. It was the cause of most of their fights, dating back to before trainee days. Everything about the duo clashed: their mannerisms, personality, the way they style their hair in the morning, their fighting styles, and much more. From the beginning, it was meant to be.;Currently, the two are stationed at the doorway of their hotel room, arguing about stupid topics as usual and never agreeing on one point. Then, Yuri felt herself stop as she bumped into Ren’s back.“Move out of the way, dumbass. Why’re you blocking-” Yuri paused as he looked over Ren’s shoulder, eyes growing as big as saucers.“Tell me it isn’t so…” Ren muttered, Yuri’s mouth dropped open in a comical O. Ren was about to go ballistic, unadulterated fury rising up through every nerve in his flesh. To their left was one bathroom, simple and shining in all of its bright white glory, borderline sparkling. To the far right, in front of them, was a television stand with a small black TV box, the old antique look giving off a cozy and comfortable vibe. What was not comfortable, however, was the center of the room. Taking up a large amount of the space was a singular bed, fit with white sheets tucked too tightly into the edges and four fluffed pillows stacked in twos laying next to each other. Sitting on the bed, innocent as the situation was, was a note that read: Sorry!Ren was going to kill someone, Yuri not far behind. The amount of rage bubbling within the two enemies was unmatched. Who set this up? Who was the culprit? They weren’t going home tonight.“You’re sleeping on the floor, rat.” Yuri shoved Ren to the side, strutting into the room and placing their stuff on the bed.“Like hell I am! You sleep on the floor, bitch!” Ren protested, arms flailing wildly again in defiance.Yuri sent a cold glare toward him, fire burning behind her eyes. He stepped up to Ren, poking a sharp finger right in the center of Ren’s chest. “You. Are. Sleeping. On. The. Floor.” She said with every short jab to his upper torso.Ren huffed, swatting Yuri's hand away from his body. "Don't fucking touch me, dirty ass.""Look who's talking." Yuri scoffed, whipping around and resuming their unpacking.Ren sighed, conflicted emotions swirling throughout his whole body. He felt angry, confused, and a small flame of an unidentified feeling that lay deep in his stomach's core all at once. Then, a sickening thought popped into his mind. He felt shocked that his brain was even able to conjure up that disgusting thought. However, it made sense. No, no, no! What was he thinking? This would never work, and Yuri would never agree! Don't do it, Ren-
"What if we shared the bed?" Ren blurted.
Ren could see the exact moment Yuri processed what had just been said to them because her eyebrows instantly furrowed, and her head whipped to face Ren so fast that the young assassin was worried their head would twist off. Ren saw the fire ablaze in her eyes as if she were genuinely offended by the intrusion of those horrendous syllables going through one of her ears and out the other.
"What the fuck did you just say to me?"
