I woke up to find a ceiling laced with yellow spots and cracks here and there. I felt so groggy, I couldn’t bother to get up. For all I knew, this mattress felt different than my usual one that’s inside my room. Was this a sign from society? Is this karma? The bed was less wide, the blanket felt thin, and the pillow was stiff. Plus, it didn’t have any yellow stains. Someone must’ve drugged me, though for some reason I wasn’t frightened. Most likely the drugs taking place. After an hour of rolling over and fixing the position, I had enough energy to gather up and finally question where I was. When I awoke, I immediately knew this wasn’t my room. When I lifted myself up into a sitting position, I got a better glimpse of my surroundings. It felt like I should be terrified, I mean, obviously since I don’t know where I am and have no idea why I’m here, but for some reason it feels so normal.I was in a hospital bed, the blankets stained and medical instruments trashed around. But the only thing that looked out of place was the IV next to me, with a needle planted inside of my arm. I never took any medical classes or even considered, what if I just plucked it out right there and then? would it start bleeding? Of course it would, why am I asking that? What seemed like forever debating whether if i should sleep away until someone comes, or take the risk and snatch it out, was really devouring my curiosity. Someone had to be here, right? Since there is a fresh IV bag and someone must have injected the needle inside of me…. right? Overthinking really consumed me. Maybe then after 10 minutes, I finally made the decision. I ripped it off and prepared for the worst.Though nothing happened. I was expecting bleeding or something along the lines of that, but no. I let the needle hang on the ground and take a more detailed glance around me. There was a window leading straight down into an eerie woods, it looked like something stereotypical scary woods would look like. Figured those were only in movies. The window was cracked all over and dead flies laid on the window seal. There are more yellow stains and brown stains scattered onto the floor.I took a mental note that I will definitely avoid those while heading out. Everything seemed messy and looked like it could break any minute. Figuring to be careful, since these dried splatters looked like it was going to revive some sort of extinct disease. After poking my nose into cabinets and drawers, (and being flashed with the smell of likely rat feces) I found absolutely nothing. For a hospital room, this wouldn’t fit the standard requirements for the average health room. Though taking a glance at the condition of the room, it was likely abandoned. Obviously. While I was crouching in front of a cabinet filled with expired prescription bottles, I managed to get a glance at my attire. My school uniform, a tanned vest with diamonds, a plastered white somewhat stained shirt beneath it, and my knee high socks along with my brown loafers. I didn’t remember anything, but I knew for sure I would take a nap with my school uniform.Maybe it’s time to expand my adventures, and take it more farther out of the room? My gut kept yelling at me to stay inside of the room, since who knows what could be out there… Yet my heart was whispering in my ear, blinding out my gut’s opinion, mumbling about how I could prove myself to Him. Yet what would I do in a place like this? Another time will be best, if there’s another time…I brushed out the thought of such a silly thought , and started to push my thoughts to the idea of escaping. Even if such things lay here, there’s a reason why this building could crumble down any second. I slowly stood up, using a counter as support since I just woke up from a clearly long sleep.Skipping through the strange stains and crumbled pieces of the ceiling, I peeked out of the doorway. More chunks of the walls and the roof lay broken on the floor, witnessing cockroaches and mutant bugs scatter around, and no other organisms besides myself. At least there weren't any people she had to worry about.Carefully but surely, I stepped out of the room and looked both right and left to take a better view of the hallway. Turns out, it looked similar to a school hallway instead of a hospital. Perhaps it was the nurses office I was in. There was a classroom diagonal of me, it had a wide window showcasing a room filled with thrown desks, papers, and folders. Yikes.I inch closer to the classroom, the echoes of my shoes clicked in the hallway. That was until, a huge roar took over the silence and echoed through the entire school. Immediately looking back, my heart raced as I stood there, frozen. My breath turned quick, as I saw a huge man emerge from the shadows. He is about seven feet tall, gigantic muscles, dirty, and definitely not human. The reason why I determined him as ‘definitely not human’ was the fact he had scissors stabbed onto the top of his head. Somehow I could see it since he was so tall. Thankfully, he had an old shopping plastic bag covering his face so I didn’t see the wound. I can’t stand such gorey wounds. He had more weapons wretched into him, but seemed like it blended with his skin. A chainsaw, a wrench, a saw, a hammer, razor blades, spear, were everything I could make out. There are way more weapons tabbed into him, but they are ones I can’t remember the name of or I’ve never seen before. Before I realized it, he let out a growl while ripping out a shotgun out of its body and loading it. Most likely a head start to run. And most likely the best option. I forgot everything in about a second, my name, my birthdate, my family, and started to bolt and jump through the hall. I’m a horrible runner, the only person in my family who doesn’t participate in sports, gets caught in a cat and mouse game. And that didn’t help at all in the situation. Where *am* I? Why *am* I? Why is this abnormal thing chasing me? Whatever it is.Despite the monster’s size, he was really fast. For a moment, thoughts about giving up and giving in fled into mind. I kept pushing them away but they kept returning like a magnet. This felt so unreal. Not because a monster is chasing me, but because this is a life or death situation. Death had chosen me out of everyone in the world to die, chosen *me*. No. No God had chosen me. To die. I know what people would say if I even brought up the slightest hint of giving up the chase. Something along the lines of ‘Keep holding on!’ Or ‘Please keep running!’ But I don’t care anymore. I felt my legs slowly start to jog, then walk. After all the experiences I’ve shared and seen, why am I death’s victim? I can change, I promise. Please give me more time. I will change my appearance, my personality, my interests, my humor, what will it take? Why are you such stubborn people? How will it take? How long will it take?I stand in the middle of the hallway, my hope is splattered like blood in front of me. I look behind me, the man towering before me. Now I see, I deserve this. God has finally said something, and that was that I should die. I feel a gun’s muzzle plant on the back of my head. This is my time to go. My time to leave. When I was expecting to be dragged into hell by the demons that were born in the deepest pits of hell, a slice was evident behind me. I opened my eyes and slowly turned around to find the monster that was chasing me, frozen. Like a statue. Has it spared me? I thought that until a deep red had drawn itself diagonally, beads of red formed. After about five seconds of confusion, the huge man's upper body slid off. Displaying his cut up organs and clean cut.I let out a gasp, why has someone, or something, killed this thing! Most importantly, how? Why would they save me? Someone like me? I caught a glimpse of a figure walking out of the shadows, maybe it was another monster coming out to finish the job. Although the figure was way smaller, it was more feminine. She dragged a sword behind her, trailing in blood. I took the idea that she is the reason for this mess. I froze due to the fact she killed such a thing, and the fact she’s so skilled with swords. Plus, the only swords I have ever seen are in museums. How did she get her hands on one anyways? What if she stole it? Am I considered a witness now?!I expected something like ‘hey! I just saved you from a seven foot tall man with weapons stuck into his skin! What’s your name!’ Though she just ignored me. Wandering to the sliced body, she stared me down the entire way until I only saw the back of her head. I am kind of intimidated. She took down a monster with only a sword, it makes me wonder how one finds the time and confidence to learn how to fight with a sword. I’d understand a gun or a knife, but a sword? I know someone like me shouldn’t be worrying about what people use to defend themselves, I'm sorry. Isn’t it technically a knife, but only elongated?I was getting lost in my thoughts, and realized I was staring. She did the same thing, but I’ll have to be a bigger person. She seemed to be observing the corpse. Maybe to check if it was dead, but she only raised her sword again and struck it at its neck. Only then it vaporized it black ashes, fading with the air. I couldn’t help but let out a gasp, it ruined the mood and I regretted it immediately. She tilted her head enough to look at me, those same dead eyes returned the glare.[sorgy wip im sleepy]
