The basement was clean, swept clear with a carpeted floor. Tyler had only had a brief glimpse of the majority of it when he had carried her through it to the single sectioned off room beyond the furnace, couch, stacked old furniture, washer and dryer. The dizziness and complete inability to balance didn’t seem to hit her as bad down here, but she was only able to put up a token resistance as Philip carried her into what looked like a soundproofed chamber with a bare concrete floor and a cell in one corner. With minimal fuss he had unlaced and removed her boots as she fumbled and tried to crawl away, only to be repeatedly shoved back down. There was a brief feeling of cold as something metal was clamped around her ankle, and with that the cell door was closed and he left. That was Tyler’s first night in this place. There must have been lingering effects from the sedative because she had fallen asleep without realizing it. When she had woken up an unknown amount of time later, there were no windows in this room, just a single harsh yellow light in a protective cage on the ceiling, the last of the dizziness and nausea seemed to have faded.Tyler’s cell was barely wide enough on each side to lay down in. She had a mattress and blanket in one corner, and a bucket in the other. Her foot was chained to the back side. This had been her life for the past unknown number of days. In the beginning, when the man Philip had come down the stairs with a plate of ground beef and mashed potatoes and a cup of water, she had thrown the food against the far wall. Three ‘feedings’ later, she had become too hungry to try that, and resentfully began eating the food that was offered. She had managed to ignore the burning pressure in her bladder until the second attempt at feeding her. Burning with embarrassment, she had hitched her skirt up, drawn her panties and fishnets down, and squatted over the bucket, hating the wet splashing noises of her own urination as she voided. It was then that she noticed the clear plastic box bolted in the far upper corner of the room with a camera inside, she was being watched while she urinated. She had offered the camera a middle finger before finishing. The second and third time she had held up the blanket to protect what modesty she had left down here. When Phil came down to collect the bucket, Tyler had at first simply cussed him out. The second time she demanded to know why she was down here. The third were promises that people missed her and would be looking for her. Similar threats, demands, and insults came when he brought her food. Through it all, he never said a word. Never even looked at her directly. It was as if he were just performing a chore with inanimate objects and nothing more. At one point Tyler simply screamed at him, over and over again, to no reaction. On day… unknown, Phil came down with a plate of food, but this time he also had a folding chair. He stopped at the other side of the room, unfolded the chair and sat down.“What the fuck, are you gonna feed me or not, Phil?” Tyler demanded. He didn’t reply, merely looked around the room with mild interest.“Hey asshole, whatever the fuck you’re playing at I’m not playing along, either feed me or don’t!” Tyler said. With infuriating slowness Philip began to methodically eat the meal he had brought down. He chewed slowly, he swallowed deliberately. “Oh come on you fucking creep, just do whatever you’re going to do!” Tyler shouted, hunger adding an edge to her voice. He didn’t respond, merely kept eating, never looking directly at her. When the plate was empty, he left the glass of water by her cell and got up to leave. Tyler spat at him, once again gaining no reaction for her efforts. “Fucking DO something you asshole!” she cried.Nothing.The next two ‘feedings’ went by similarly, he would come down, sit in the chair, eat right in front of her and otherwise ignore her, and leave. Tyler’s protests became less strident and caustic. A note of desperation began to creep into her voice. She hated it, hated how she sounded, but she was getting so incredibly hungry she couldn’t help it. And she was being pushed over the edge by the complete lack of reaction on his part, why was he even keeping her here?On the fourth instance of this, he didn’t sit down to eat. Instead, he set the plate down on the chair. “What?” Tyler asked, her voice nearly hoarse at this point, she had spent a fair bit of time screaming while she was alone. “What do you want? I’ll play along just… please… I’m hungry.”Philip looked at her, for the first time he looked directly at her. Tyler took an involuntary step away from the bars. “Turn around,” he said. The sound of a voice other than her own down her shocked her. It took her a moment to realize she had actually been addressed. “What?”“Turn around and put your hands through the bars,” Philip said, he had taken a pair of handcuffs out of his pocket.“Oh go fuck yourself creep,” Tyler said, “I’m not doing that.”Immediately his eyes diverted elsewhere. Without a word he put the cuffs back in his pocket, grabbed the plate of food, sat down, and began eating. “Oh come on,” Tyler said in disbelief, “Please!”He continued eating.“Fine, I’ll go with it!” Tyler relented, she turned and put her hands through the bars, “There, I’m doing it, cuff me up, do whatever you fucking pervert, just feed me!”Nothing, no reply, even the sound of eating stopped. A note of pleading entered Tyler’s voice, “Please?”Still no reply. She turned back around. As soon as she was looking at him, he resumed eating. “Please!” Tyler cried, “You can’t just let me starve!”Philip finished his plate, got up, and went to the door. “Damnit, listen to me!” Tyler shouted, “I’ll do it, whatever you want, I mean it this time! Just give me some food!”Without acknowledgment, Phil left. That night, or day, or whatever it was, Tyler could no longer sleep, she was too hungry. The next unknown period of time she tried to string thoughts together to keep her mind off her cramping stomach. She tried to think of her girlfriend, and could only think of them sharing a meal together. She thought of family, but could only think of her father’s angry face the night she came out to them over dinner, reddened with rage before he sent her to her room, she had been in high school at the time. He had gotten better, marginally. Food.Tyler had tried to sing several times, she used to be in choir. The sound of her own hoarse voice, echoes quickly eaten up by the soundproofed walls, only served to further discomfit her.Unable to stop herself, Tyler breathed a sigh of relief the next time Philip came down to eat. Without a word, she shakily pulled herself to her feet, turned, and stuck her hands through the bars, waiting.“No,” Philip said, “Sit down, lean against the bars, and stick your hands through, you’re too weak to stay standing for long.”Disgusted with herself for wanting to give thanks for that, Tyler complied. The concrete floor was cold under her legs. The rancid stench of her last defecation had almost left the air, but traces of it still hung about. She felt the rough palms and fingers of Phil pull her hands further out, let out a quiet sob as cold metal encircled her wrists, clicked inescapably into place. A second later and there was the rattle of keys in the cage door lock, the door swung outward on well-greased hinges.Philip knelt in front of her. “You stink,” he said, “We’re going to need to give you a shower.”“Food… please…” Tyler said, trying and failing to fight back tears.“Open,” Phil said, spoonful of plain ground beef hovering in front of her face.Compliant, Tyler opened her mouth, eagerly taking the meat as it was delicately spooned in. “Not too fast,” Philip warned as she quickly chewed and swallowed, “We don’t want you throwing up all over yourself.”“Why?” Tyler took another mouthful, trying to make herself chew more slowly and failing.“Because you were ill, and I’m here to make you better. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be for both of us,” Philip said, waiting before giving her another spoonful.“Just… please let me go… I won’t tell…” she hated herself for saying it, but she had passed beyond that point of desperation a while ago.“We both know that’s not true. We have a lot of work to do still, to help you realize your full potential,” Philip gave her another spoonful.Tyler took the mouthful, chewed, swallowed. She looked up at Phil, gave a weak smile, then spat. It was a weak effort, but some of the spittle managed to hit his polo shirt. “Fuck you, I’d rather die,” Tyler said, then lashed out with what little strength she had with a kick, aiming for his crotch. Her foot rebounded weakly off his inner thigh. With one smooth motion Phil dropped the plate with the remaining food on it and grabbed Tyler’s outstretched leg. She pulled fruitlessly against his grip, her skirt riding up as he held firmly onto her ankle.“Lesson one,” Phil said, “No disrespect.”With sudden alacrity he stomped down on her knee. There was a dull pop and Tyler screamed, momentarily blacking out from the pain. Her foot was released and her leg fell nervelessly to the ground. She stared, taking in sobbing, coughing breaths, at a knee that was suddenly bent the wrong way.“Now, be a good girl next time, and we’ll get that set correctly,” Phil said, grabbing the plate, exiting the cell, and shutting the door behind him. “Until then, you can think about what you’ve done.”Tyler didn’t resist as her handcuffs were undone, was unable to do more than sob as she heard him leave the room.
