“Come on, come on! He can’t be far!”Mualani raced through the tall cliffs of the Scions of the Canopy with a desperation unseen from the carefree girl before. It was pouring, droplets piercing the ground around her like miniature swords and mud sliding around the shark beneath her feet. Rocks were dislodging from the cliff sides, causing dangerous rockslides she could just barely avoid. This had to be the worst storm she had seen in her life.“KINICH!” she called into the rain, frantically scanning her surroundings in search of the black haired boy.They had been hanging out like usual when the storm started, so they decided to camp out in a nearby cave until the storm calmed down. However, Kinich had noticed the unstable rocks above them just in time to get them out. She hadn’t seen him since they went tumbling to the bottom of the ravine, Ajaw locked away in time out once more. She could almost hear his annoying voice screaming, “You’re so done, Kinich!”Mualani continued her frenzied searching, wild eyes darting to and fro. Eventually, after a period of time she didn’t care to count, her eyes laid upon a slumped over and unconscious form on the ground.“Kinich, is that you?” She rapidly approached, guard still up and wind still howling. The closer she got, the worse it looked. There was a lot of blood pooling around his head, and he was covered in scratches and bruises. “Oh shit..”She stood over him for a moment, at a loss for what to do, when a pearl of thunder struck hard against the ground a little ways away. It wasn’t close enough to hurt, but it was close enough to make her hair stand on end. Choice now made for her, she carefully picked Kinich up bridal style and started to surf away toward the village to get a doctor.She really hoped his injury wasn’t as bad as it looked.
