It’s not often Keqing finds a day for just herself; even on her rare days off she enjoys convincing her friends to go shopping with her, or training in her sword skills. So now, lying in the grassy fields of Mondstadt and watching the clouds roll by was all too leisurely for her style.But there was nothing else to get up to today. Those she chose to travel with were busy with their own personal tasks, cooking and cleaning the camp. Usually, Keqing preferred to help with this, but the others insisted she spent too much time working around their small camp already. She deserved a day off.They were much too far away to do any shopping, and when she did try to work on some training she accidentally summoned the attention of a few hilichurls, almost getting herself into too much trouble.So now she resigned herself to cloud-watching, a pastime that felt as unproductive as it sounded. The clouds didn’t do anything special, didn’t show any signs of importance. There was no warning of an impending storm, no promise of a refreshing rain. Just a random littering of clouds in the sky that told no stories and kept no promises.She wants to give up, find something else to focus her attention on, but something continues to draw her eyes toward the sky. The clouds form shapes and figures, if she looks closely enough, and she swears one could be that of Rex Lapis himself. He doesn’t govern over Mondstadt, there’s no reason for the god to be here. But his presence is surprisingly calming, a comfort that promises Keqing that she won’t be alone.Normally the words of gods do nothing for her, but it’s okay, she tells herself, because these aren’t words. Just clouds.
