“Thank you for all you do Superman!” the women exclaimed as she grabbed my hand, “We’re forever in your debt!”“Just doing my job ma’am,” I said as I continued to make my way to the stage where the mayor, police officers, and some rich businessman who helped financially support this event were. All I did was save a bridge from collapsing and now I’m being awarded the key to the city? I don’t need a key, but I appreciate the symbolism of it. Once on stage, the mayor said a few words thanking the men who supported the event. Even had one of them come forward to say a few words.“Ladies and gentleman, Bruce Wayne!” the mayor said as the place erupted in applause as the man stepped forward to stand in front of the mic.“Thank you. Thank you,” Bruce started as the applause died down.He continued with his speech, one of which I didn’t pay that much attention to. Frankly, I was too busy taking in the man’s physique. If you look closely, you can tell he has big toned muscles under the suit.I forced myself to focus so I wouldn’t get too distracted. Bruce finished his speech, I said a few words myself and then was awarded the key. Now I had to stay for a little bit to enjoy the party and refreshments offered.“Excuse me,” I said to the reporter as I went down the hallway I saw Bruce go down, “Mr. Wayne?”“Yes?” he asked as he stopped in the empty hallway and turned around, “Oh. What can I do for you Superman?”“I just wanted to thank you for your kind words and help putting this event together,” I answered as I now had a chance to admire the man up close, “Are you leaving already?”“It’s no problem. Least I could do since you’ve saved us countless times,” he said, “And yes, I was heading out.”“I wish you could stay Mr. Wayne,” I told him, “I wish I could’ve gotten to know you more.”“Maybe another time,” he said as he held out his hand, “You can call me Bruce by the way.”“Bruce,” I said with a smile as I shook his hand, “Until we meet again.”“Looking forward to it,” he responded. Before I even realized what I’m doing, I leaned down and kissed him on the cheek.“So am I,” I said as I smiled more at the sight of his cheeks turning red.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

“Are you mad that I kissed him?” I asked Lois, “I’m not sorry that it happened.”“No I’m not mad that you kissed him Clark,” she started as she waved the newspaper with a picture of Superman kissing Bruce Wayne plastered on the front page, “You could’ve at least done it in private! Now we’ve been getting calls non-stop! Are Superman and Bruce Wayne a couple? How long have they been together? Are they going to get married? Are they married? Who’s better in bed? What is Superman like? Did Bruce pay him for the kiss?”“No, wait a minute. Bruce did not pay me for the kiss. It just kind of happened,” I told Lois, “Wait, people really are asking those questions?”“Clark,” she sighed, “How do you think Bruce feels with all this?”“What do you mean?” I asked.“You have Superman to hide behind with all this. Bruce has nothing. They already know everything about him, where he lives, where he works,” she explained, “I don’t think the press are going to be leaving him alone any time soon.”“Oh, that never occurred to me,” I said, “I’m going to go find him.”“Go, if he’s really worth it Clark, you don’t want to lose him to the press,” she told me.As I headed straight for Wayne Manor, a pile of news trucks were heading towards the house too. I quickly located Bruce, who was in the kitchen and knocked on the window.“Superman?” he asked as he poked his head out, “What are you doing here?”“Can we talk?” I asked, “The press will be here any second.”“Come in,” he answered as he went over to the door and unlocked it for me.“Would you like some privacy sir?” Alfred asked from his place at the stove.“Yes please Alfred, thank you,” Bruce answered as he took Alfred’s spot at the stove, taking the pan off the heat for a second, “Look, did you come here to tell me you regret kissing me?”“What? No,” I started, “No, I came here to apologize for kissing you in a public setting. I’m sorry the press got a picture.”“Not the worst picture the press has of me,” he responded.“I wish we would’ve done it in a more private setting. I was just too excited to kiss you that I just went for it,” I told him, “The press are here and will swarm every open window in your house. Is there somewhere else we can go?”“Yeah, come on,” he said as he led me upstairs to what he said was his father’s study.“Do you regret the kiss?” I asked him as he sat on top of the desk in the back of the room.“No,” he sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair, “It’s just going to be a little tricky navigating this when you kissed me as Superman.”“I know,” I said as I went to stand in front of him.“You know you missed right?” he asked.“Missed?” I asked, not understanding what he was saying.“You kissed me on the cheek, not on the lips,” he answered as he pointed at his lips to emphasize the point.“Oh is that right?” I asked as I moved closer so our legs were almost touching.“Yes,” he answered before he grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me in for a quick peck on the lips before pulling away, “See, like that.”I got closer, my leg now in between his, almost touching his crotch. I put one hand on his side and used the other to tilt his head up so I could get better access. My lips meet his in a quick, teasing kiss. Then I went in and kissed him again, deeper and with more passion this time. The hand on his side pulled him close so we were chest to chest, now my leg is brushing against his crotch. I move my other hand to cup the back of his neck to hold him in the kiss.“Like that?” I asked once we pulled away and caught our breath.“Holy shit,” he gasped as he leaned into me a little as I chuckled and kissed the top of his head.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Bruce Wayne has always been a person that was targeted by the people that think taking him out would solve a lot of problems. Sure, Bruce is smart but he isn’t always the person behind the things Wayne Enterprises comes out with. He would have paid the people that did and that’s all he had to do with it. Nonetheless, he’s always been a target for people that wanted to change the world one billionaire at a time. However, now that he started dating Superman, he’s gotten more and more people that want to end his life.Clark is used to having to save his loved ones from danger once in a while. Bruce on the other hand is giving him a run for his money. That man is getting in harm’s way almost on a daily basis. To help this, Clark gave Bruce a little device to keep with him 24/7. Essentially, it’s like a pager. Whenever Bruce pushes the button it emits a sound louder than everything Superman hears. This way Clark can focus on the piercing sound as well as what he can hear of the situation Bruce is in as he races to get there.“No, you can’t go in there!” Bruce’s secretary yelled as a man barged his way through.“It’s alright,” Bruce told her as he had one hand in his pocket, finger on the button just in case things escalated, “Can I help you?”“Bruce Wayne,” the man sneered as the people around the table stood to get up, causing him to pull out a trigger button to a bomb he revealed was strapped to his chest, “Nobody move!”“Now wait just a minute! You can’t come barging into my meeting with a bomb strapped to your chest barking orders like a dog,” Bruce exclaimed.“You sound pretty cocky for a man in a room with a bomb,” he said as he grinned like a maniac. The mystery man went on to explain how Bruce’s company destroyed his business and drove his wife and kids away. If Bruce didn’t have his colleagues in the room, he’d give him a sarcastic response. This man wants answers from Bruce and won’t leave until he gets them. Bruce won’t say another word until all his colleagues have left the room. One by one, each of his colleagues get up and leave the room. Bruce is hoping they clear the floor, empty the building, and call the cops. They don’t have evacuation plans like this just because, clearly this has happened one too many times to have to put a plan in place.Bruce could read the man’s body language and knew this wasn’t going to go down well. He’s on the 35th floor of his building. His back is to the windows furthest from the door or any form of safety. With his hand still in his pocket, he pressed the button on the mini pager Clark gave him. Knowing that when the man pushes the trigger, he’d be blown through the glass behind him and he’d be plummeting towards the hard concrete in desperate need of his man. “Now don’t be rash. If you put the trigger down, I’d be more than happy to give you answers,” Bruce said, trying to keep his voice level enough.“No! You’ve waited too long to answer. Now your time is up!” the man exclaimed as I saw the building come into view. All I heard was Bruce yell, a small click of a button, and an explosion of glass breaking, flames engulfing the floor, and screams of the people down below. I watched as Bruce was propelled out of the building from the blast.I raced towards Bruce and grabbed him, noticing how he immediately clutched me as I placed the two of us on the rooftop of the building next to the one he fell out of.“Bruce,” I started as I looked him up and down and was satisfied with no serious injuries, “Are you okay?”He stood in front of me, shaking and breathing fast, but his gaze was focused on the burning building behind me.“No,” I started as I moved to stand directly in front of Bruce so he couldn’t see the chaos behind me, “Focus on me Bruce. Eyes on me.”“Wha?” he said as he finally looked at me, “Clark?”“Yes Bruce,” I said as I cupped his cheek, “Are you okay? I need to know if we are going to the hospital or going home.”He stepped away from me and vomited at my feet, almost lost his footing and collapsed into it if I didn’t catch him.“Home,” he mumbled as he put his head on my shoulder before I took off for home.“Is he alright?” Alfred asked as he met us at the door, already saw what happened on the news.“He will be. He’s just in shock,” I explained as I carried him to our bedroom.I set Bruce down on the bed and quickly undressed him and into some comfy clothes. Knowing he’s dropping fast and needs warmth and comfort, I quickly get the two of us in bed.“I’m still shaking Clark,” Bruce said as he looked at his hands.“It’s alright,” I told him as I held his hands in mine and comforted him as he fell asleep.
