Percy paced back and forth, clutching a small, gray velvet box in his hand.He had already shown Frank, Jason, and Leo the ring. The three of them were lounging on the edge of the camp lake. They came back to camp every so often to help out new campers. After graduating from New Rome college, they tried to get some type of normal and were considering moving in together. They both ended up getting well paying jobs. Percy started his own bakery and Annabeth got offers from multiple companies the moment they graduated. She ended up working for a prestigious architectural company making designs for temples and palaces. She was really happy where she was. There was silence for a moment than Percy spoke “You guys, this is huge. I mean, what if she says no?” Percy blurted out, glancing at them with wide eyes.
Jason smirked, leaning back on his elbows. “Percy, you’ve faced Titans, gods, and all kinds of monsters. Proposing to Annabeth should be a piece of cake.”
Frank nodded, his bear-like stature somehow making the gesture look even more reassuring. “Exactly. She’s been through everything with you. She loves you, man.”
Leo looked up from his phone, scrolling absentmindedly. “And you love her. Plus, you’re Percy Jackson. If you can’t sweep her off her feet, who can?”
Percy stopped pacing, a small smile tugging at his lips. “You’re right. I just... I don’t want to mess this up. She’s my everything.”
Jason chuckled. “Dude, you fell into Tartarus with her and got out. If that’s not a sign you’re meant to be together, I don’t know what is.”
Frank gave Percy a knowing look. “Just think for a moment, what would her ideal proposal look like? You know Annabeth better than the rest of us.”
Percy nodded. “Yeah. Thanks for the idea. Wish me luck?”“You’ll be fine Percy” Leo said, giving him a reassuring smile.
Frank and Jason exchanged a glance before Jason added, “And remember, no matter what, you’ve got us.” Later, Percy found Hazel, Piper, and Silena at the campfire. He took a deep breath and approached them. “Hey, I need some advice.” He sat down across from the girls as he spoke.
Hazel turned her head, curious, her curls moving along with the motion. “What’s up, Percy?”
He held up the small velvet box and showed the girls the ring. White gold band, Oval cut diamond and WG engraved on the inside. “I want to propose to Annabeth, but I want to do it right. Any suggestions?”
Piper, sitting next to Hazel, smiled warmly then spoke “That’s so sweet, Percy. Annabeth’s a planner, so something meaningful and well thought out will mean a lot to her.”
Silena nodded, agreeing with her sister. “And maybe incorporate something personal, like a place or memory that’s special to both of you.”
Hazel added, “You two have been through a lot together. Just speak from the heart. She’ll love whatever you do.”
Percy felt a wave of gratitude wash over him. “Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it.”
Piper leaned in with a teasing grin. “And don’t forget—she’s gonna want to show off that ring, so make sure it’s something she’ll actually like!”
Percy laughed. “Noted. Wish me luck!”
“You got this, Percy,” Hazel said with a supportive smile.
As Percy sat in his cabin, scribbling down his proposal speech, he heard a knock at the door. Tyson, his half-brother, walked in with a curious look on his face. "What are you doing, Percy?"

Percy smiled and closed the notebook. "Hey, Tyson. I'm planning how to propose to Annabeth."

Tyson's face lit up with excitement. "Oh! That’s wonderful! Can I help?"

Percy chuckled. "Of course, big guy. I could use all the help I can get."

Tyson sat down beside Percy, thinking for a moment. "You should take her somewhere special. Maybe the lake? Annabeth loves the lake, and it’s peaceful there."

Percy nodded. "That’s a good idea. I could set up a picnic, with all her favorite foods. What else?"

Tyson beamed. "Flowers! She likes flowers. We can pick some pretty ones. And... you should make a pretty speech. Tell her why you love her."

Percy smiled and patted Tyson’s shoulder. "Thanks, Tyson. I’ll make sure everything’s perfect."
He went to sleep with a smile on his face thinking of what tomorrow will hold.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

As the first light of dawn painted the sky in soft hues of pink and orange, Percy and Annabeth strolled side by side through Camp Half-Blood. The camp was just starting to wake up, a few campers already beginning their morning routines.“I never get tired of this place,” Annabeth said, her eyes scanning the familiar landscape.
“Me neither,” Percy replied, glancing at her with a soft smile. They walked in comfortable silence for a few moments, just enjoying each other’s company.
As they walked, Percy took a deep breath, steeling himself. “Hey, Annabeth, I was thinking...”
She turned to him, curiosity in her eyes. “Yeah?”
“Do you want to go on a lake date tonight?” He tried to keep his tone casual, hiding the excitement bubbling within him.
Annabeth’s face lit up with a smile. “A lake date? That sounds perfect. What’s the occasion?”
Percy shrugged, trying to play it cool. “Just thought it would be nice. You know, some quiet time, just the two of us.”
She linked her arm through his, her eyes twinkling. “I like the sound of that. I’ll bring the blankets-“ she was cut off by someone calling her name in the distance. She turned her head to see the person motioning for her to come over. She started walking and when she was at the halfway point to them, she called out, “and Snacks are on you!” Percy laughed, his heart pounding with anticipation.

That afternoon, Annabeth made her way to the Aphrodite cabin, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. She knocked on the door and was greeted by Piper, who immediately sensed something was up.
“Hey, Annabeth! What’s going on?” Piper asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Annabeth smiled, feeling a bit shy. “I, um, need some help. Percy asked me on a date tonight by the lake, and I want to pick out something special. Elegant, but also practical enough for a picnic.”
Piper’s face lit up with excitement. “Of course! Come on in. Everyone, we have a fashion emergency!” she called out to the rest of the cabin.
Within moments, Annabeth was surrounded by the Aphrodite campers, all eager to help her find the perfect look. Silena and the others quickly got to work, delicatley applying eyeshadow and highlighter.
“How about this one?” Piper held up a long, flowing black evening dress with intricate detailing.
Annabeth examined it, a smile playing on her lips. “It’s beautiful, but maybe something a bit less formal. Elegant, but practical.”
Piper nodded, understanding. “Got it. Something that says timeless elegance but is still comfortable for a picnic. How about this?” She held up an ankle-length blue dress.
Annabeth’s eyes lit up. “That’s perfect. Thanks, Piper.”
The girls helped her try on the dress, adding a few tasteful accessories to complete the look. They suggested a pair of dainty earrings and a simple, yet beautiful bracelet. She paired all of this with a simple pair of white sandles.
“You look stunning,” Piper said, beaming. “Percy’s going to be speechless.”
Annabeth smiled, her nerves settling. “Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate it.”
As she left the Aphrodite cabin, the sun was beginning to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm glow over the camp. She felt a wave of anticipation wash over her. She ran back to her cabin the grab a few blankets since she knew it was going to be chilly. Tonight was going to be special, and she couldn’t wait to see what Percy had planned.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

It was sunset when Annabeth found Percy. He had prepared the lakeside spot with care. He spread out a soft cloth and arranged an assortment of their favorite snacks, ensuring everything was perfect for the evening ahead.
Annabeth approached, her dress fluttering gently in the evening breeze. She carried her blankets in her hands Percy felt his heart race as he watched her come closer. She hugged him and gave him a kiss.
“This looks amazing,” she said, smiling as she took in the setup.
“I’m glad you like it,” Percy replied, his voice warm with affection. He was dressed in a simple yet stylish outfit—a light blue button-down shirt and a pair of comfortable, dark jeans with a white jacket. “I wanted tonight to be special.” He handed her a bouquet of flowers and a gift basket as he spoke. Annabeth smiled and thanked him. They sat down together, the peaceful sound of the lake lapping against the shore providing a serene backdrop. They talked about everything and nothing, as they always did. As they talked, the sky turned from gold to shades of pink and purple. When the temperature dropped, Annabeth wrapped herself in one of the blankets she brought, feeling cozy and content. (Percy’s arm around her shoulder also helped)The first stars began to twinkle above and Percy took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment.Percy took Annabeth’s hand and led her to the edge of the lake, where the water reflected the night sky.
“Annabeth,” he began, his voice soft yet filled with emotion. “From the moment I met you, you’ve been my rock, my anchor, and my inspiration. You’ve stood by me through thick and thin, and you’ve made me a better person. I can’t imagine my life without you. I love you more than words can express.”
With a gentle smile, Percy got on one knee, pulled out a small velvet box and opened it, revealing a delicate, glimmering ring. “Will you marry me?”

Tears welled up in Annabeth's eyes as she looked down at Percy, her heart overflowing with love and joy. "Yes, Percy," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "Yes, a thousand times yes."
Percy opened the box to reveal a beautiful ring, its design simple yet elegant, with a small diamond that reminded them both of the stars above. He slipped it onto her finger, and he stood up, their eyes locked in a moment of pure happiness.
Without a word, Percy pulled Annabeth into his arms and kissed her, the world around them fading away. As the sun dipped below the horizon, they knew that this was just the beginning of their next great adventure together.
