Gotham City lay sprawled beneath a blanket of midnight blue, its skyline a jagged silhouette against a sky studded with stars. Rain fell in a gentle rhythm; each drop a whisper of the secrets hidden in the shadows.Y/N stood on the rooftop of Gotham’s tallest building, the cool breeze tousling her hair as she gazed out at the city. Lost in thought, she barely noticed the soft footsteps approaching until a familiar voice cut through the night air.“Y/N,” James Gordon’s voice was deep, warm like a hot chocolate, laced with concern.Y/N turned, her heart fluttering at the sight of him. The moonlight bathed his features in a silvery glow, highlighting his eyebags after decades of countless battles fought for Gotham’s soul. He was a man weighed down by the city’s burdens, yet there was an undeniable strength in him that drew Y/N closer.“What are you doing up here?” he asked, stepping closer, his presence a comforting shield against the chill of the night. His domination brining heat to Y/N’s face, her cheeks red.“Just… thinking,” Y/N replied, her voice soft. “About everything. About us.”James’s expression shifted, his brow furrowing with both concern and intrigue. “Us?”Y/N took a deep breath, feeling a surge of courage. “Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if this city were different. If we could be… different.”He stepped closer, the space between them charged with an electric tension. “I think about that too. About what could be if the shadows didn’t loom over us. But with you, I feel like there’s a chance for something more.”In that moment, the rain picked up, falling harder, as if the heavens were echoing their unspoken desires. Y/N hesitating, stepped forward, her heart racing. “Jim, I—”But before she could continue, he reached out, fingers brushing against their arm, sending a jolt of warmth through them. “You have to know, Y/N, that you are the light in my life. You give me hope when everything feels lost.”His gaze locked onto her, intense and filled with emotion, and Y/N felt as if the world had shrunk to just the two of them. The city’s chaos faded, leaving only the palpable connection that pulsed between them. Their connection impenetrable, nothing could or will destroy this moment, the thing the both of them had been waiting so long for.“I want to be there for you, Jimmy!!” Y/N said, her voice barely above a whisper. “In the shadows and the light.”Y/N stared in awe at how the street lights shaped his rugged skin, his wrinkles. He was mesmerizing.James moved closer, the distance between them vanishing. “And I want to be there for you, too. You make me want to fight harder, to believe in a better Gotham.”With the rain cascading around them, he leaned in, their foreheads almost touching, breath mingling in the cool air. “Can I… can I kiss you?”Y/N’s heart raced, her breath hitching in anticipation. “Yes. Please.”In that instant, time stood still. James leaned in, capturing their lips in a kiss that was both tender and passionate, igniting a fire deep within. The world around them melted away, leaving only the sound of the rain and the heartbeat of the city beneath them.As they pulled away, both breathless and wide-eyed, Y/N couldn’t help but turn away so that he wouldn’t see the blush overtaking her face. “Omg that was so skibidi sigma!!!.”James nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. “don't worry baby cakes, daddy will protect you” he says, wrapping his muscular vainy arm around your petite little body. Walking into the sunset. With a shared understanding, they turned to gaze out at Gotham, their hearts intertwined. In a city of shadows, they had found their spark—a love that could shine brightly, no matter the challenges ahead.
