I parked my car and braced myself,
For the new garden leading to a magical realm.
With a grin, I looked to my friend—
Hand in hand, we stepped in.
“Wow,
look at this magnificent place!
Trees of evergreen,
Grass pristine,
Flowers blooming at every seam,
And floors shining like polished cream.
It makes me want to scream!”
Could my friend be mistaken?
All I saw were ashes and ruin,
Sights that left me achin’—
My heart pounding at the sight akin to a nightmare,
My vision blurring,
Each breath weighed and laden.
What is this terror I’m seein’?
“This is the Garden of Legacy.
It reflects your treasury.
If you’re good, you’ll see ecstasy;
If you’re bad, beware the lunacy.”
I feigned a smile
As I turned to the door, just a mile—
“I’m tired; it’ll all be fine,”
An excuse to hide my truth in disguise.
Can I hope this is just a mere illusion?
