“Mischief, Stephen, wake up!” Claudia called the twins “I’m taking you to the playground today as promised”. Mischief’s eyes opened wide as he heard his mother’s call. It was Saturday, there was no school and today is the day their mother finally takes them to the park.He jumped out of bed with a big smile on his face, so wide that it reached his freckled cheeks, as he darted downstairs as fast as he could.As he got downstairs he heard his twin brother, Stephen, ask their mother “Are we really going to the playground today?”. The twins have never been in the park before as their mother only brings them to the preserve for a walk or when they visit the Hales.“Yes honey, I’ve taken the leave at work today so there’s no emergency meeting that could stop us from going there.” Claudia assures her son.Claudia Winchester-Stilinski is a spark. A spark is a supernatural creature that is capable of using magic and magical artifacts such as runes, aside from being a spark, she is also the emissary of the Hale pack, a well-known and most powerful werewolf pack in Beacon Hills, as an emissary it’s her job to guide or help the alpha or other members of the pack to walk the right path.She also knows how to be a hunter as her brother, John Winchester, taught her to protect herself from the supernatural. Not knowing that she was already involved in it. Being an emissary of a powerful pack is not an easy job. It takes up most of her time as a mother to the twins. now that the Argents, a powerful family of werewolf hunters, are back at Beacon Hills and is posing a threat to the Hale pack. She started training the Druid Alan Deaton to replace her as she plans to retire to further focus her life into taking care of the twins, having time with her family and to avoid getting them involved in the supernatural mess.“Mom!” Mischief greets his mother cheerfully as he runs towards the kitchen. The father of the twins, Noah, who was a deputy at the local Sheriff station, smiled at the sight of his wife, Stephen and Mischief (who he prefers calling ‘Stiles’, which was the boy’s preferred nickname which was also his father’s army name.).“What do you think the playground’s like?” Stiles asked his brother as Claudia filled his bowl with cereal.“Heather said there were swings, slides, and a big place where you can make sandcastles!” Stephen tells his brother as he swallows a spoonful of cereal (with milk) unto his mouth.“Ooh! Wanna make one when we get there, one with a cool moat?” Stiles asks his brother excitingly who nods at him as he gulps down the food.“I heard Melissa’s coming?” Noah asked. Melissa McCall, or Mel as he likes to call her, was his best friend since 6th grade and one of Claudia’s close friends in college. She was so happy when she learned that they were getting married, and was even more happy when she learned that they were getting twins.“Yeah, she will, she said she’d bring her son. What was his name again?”“It’s Scott” Noah answered, “He’s a nice kid, shy and doesn’t have any friends. I’m sure they’ll get along with him.” Noah adds to which Claudia smiles thinking of what her friend’s son is like “So same problem as the boys?” Claudia asks as she loses her smile realizing the boy’s situation.“Yeah, Melissa told me the boy had severe asthma. And you know kids their age loves to play tag. He tries interacting with them but gets left alone too often”. Claudia blows a heavy sigh of concern for Melissa and Scott.“What about Hannah and Natalie? Are they coming too?” Noah asked. Changing the topic to lighten the mood.Hannah Lahey and Natalie Martin are one of their close friends from college like Melissa. “Melissa told me she invited Hannah and would bring Camden and her youngest with her.” Claudia says as the twins finish their food. “Natalie is out of town so she can’t come.” She continued.“Are we meeting new friends?” Stiles asks excitingly as he and his brother watch their mother nod in agreement. They both made squeal-like sound out of excitement and starts talking about how would they befriend them.“Boys.” Claudia Interrupts to take their attention. “Take a bath and change your clothes” She says as she stood up to wash the dishes, the twins got out of their chairs and started running upstairs. “And Stephen” Claudia called, making the boy stop and turn to his mother, “Please help your brother with the clothes so he won’t get distracted.”.“Okay mom!” the boy responds as he follows his brother who was already in his room.Stiles was diagnosed with ADHD 3 months ago, the couple noticed the boy starting to stumble on his words and nor being able to focus, as well as being more energetic and restless than his twin.“I hope the boys do get along with Melissa and Hannah’s sons.” Noah say as he sips off his coffee.Stiles’ classmates at preschool either bullying or avoiding him, because of this the twins became socially awkward. Stiles being the one who’s too desperate in making friends often goes to far in helping and starts getting too clingy trying to help or get along with someone.While Stephen due to the experiences with bullies, always observes someone before befriending them often asking them too many questions due to his inquisitive nature and usually gets frustrated when not given the answer which makes most kids avoid him as well.Stiles’ ADHD is well known around the school, and kids being kids not understanding his situation avoids and bullies him.Stiles and Stephen usually only warms up to each other; that was until they met the girl named Heather. She goes at the same preschool as the twins. She was the only kid who did not avoid the twins and even liked Stephen’s inquisitive and curious nature as well as Stiles’ constant rambling of random things (Thanks to his ADHD) and even befriended them, their parents started scheduling playdates once in a while.“I know they will, Scott and Hannah’s younger son is just as old as the twins, and like you said they have trouble making friends. Maybe, just maybe that’ll help them get along.” Claudia’s voice laced with hope and belief, assuring Noah.“I hope so” Noah sighed before taking another sip off his coffee.A few minutes later the twins ran down the stairs towards the shoe rack. Stiles was wearing his favorite red hoodie with a white T-shirt under and red shorts, while Stephen was wearing a blue and white striped T-shirt and a pair of black shorts. “Boys did you clean your rooms?” Claudia asked “Yes mom” they said in unison giggling afterwards.After they put on their shoes. The twins ran outside as Noah follows them from behind towards the baby blue jeep.“Roscoe!” they called out.The jeep was Claudia’s, a gift from her father that she plans on giving to the twins once their 16 and is legal to drive. The twins argued for hours on what to name it and who would own it.“Alright boys hop in!” Noah says before he lifts the twins towards their seat.Claudia buckles their seatbelt before asking the twins. “You two ready?”.“Yeah!” the twins said in unison before giggling in excitement. Noah says his goodbyes before heading towards his car.
As Claudia parks the jeep she notices a woman with tanned white skin, warm brown eyes, and curly brown hair, walking towards the jeep.“Melissa, good to see you, how’ve you been!” Claudia greets her friend with an enthusiastic tone.“Claudia!” Melissa greets her with amusement “I’m fine! Just that work’s been busier than usual you know?” Melissa responds to her before she adds “How about you? We haven’t seen each other for a while. Seems like you’ve been working out” Claudia laughs before going down from the jeep to hug Melissa before answering.“Oh nothing special just been busier with work as well. I suppose it’s the thing keeping me fit just like you!” Melissa laughs back at her comment.she noticed the two kids at the inside the jeepney “Are those these the twins?” Melissa asks excitingly before Claudia moves towards the passenger side of the jeep to lift the twins one by one “These are Stiles and Stephen.”“Hi!” Stiles greets enthusiastically waving one of his hands as Stephen observes the woman.“Hello there sweethearts, ready to make friends?” Melissa asks the two.“Yes!” Stiles says. He seems to be vibrating from excitement as Stephen stares at Melissa, still studying the woman.“Scott’s over there by the sandbox, you should go meet him” Melissa says as she glances by the sandbox. Stephen peeks behind Melissa and spots the sandbox Heather mentioned. It was indeed huge and could easily fit many kids.He noticed a boy playing in the sandbox alone, he was making a sandcastle smiling. Seemingly not bothered by being alone or not having friends to play with him.
He was olive skinned and had dark-brown curly hair, much like Melissa.Stephen got curious of the boy and started running towards the sandbox, Stiles following him.“Hi” Stephen greets the boy, Scott, the boy looks up with his puppy-like brown eyes“Hi” Scott greets him in response.“What are you doing?” Stephen decided to ask even though he knows what the boy is making (because it’s how you make friends duh)“I’m making a sandcastle for my mom! Wanna make one for yours too?” Scott invites Stephen which surprises the boy. Stephen has never seen a person this inviting or trusting.“S-sure!” Stephen stuttered still processing what had just happened. Nonetheless it was the best opportunity for them to know each other.Suddenly they hear rushing water hitting the sand.It was Stiles.He was peeing on the sand castle.
“H-hey!” Scott called out “S-stop that” he yelled as he tackled Stiles to stop him from ruining the sandcastle.“Ow dude, why’d you do that!?” Stiles yelled back at him.“Y-you peed on m-my sandcastle!” Scott says as his eyes formed tears.“That was for my m-mom” Scott says before sniffing as he started sobbing“I was just trying to help you!” Stiles said as he pushed Scott who was standing above him.“Ow!” Scott grunts as he fell onto the sand.The two stood up glaring at each other before Stephen stepped between them and shouted “Stop it!”.He looks back and forth at the two with concern, both of whom were now sobbing.“Stiles why did you pee in it?” Stephen asks his brother who looks at him with the word ‘what?’ on his face.“I just wanted to help him!” He answers “Besides he asked if you could join in and you accepted it. So I joined in”.“That’s not how it works” Scott tells they boy who was still mad at him.The two mothers noticed the commotion and rushed towards them. “What happened here?” Claudia asks worryingly as she goes near stiles who got sand all over his back.“I was just trying to help him!” Stiles defended.“You peed on my sandcastle!” Scott argues who was now held in hand by a worried Melissa.“Mischief, why would you do that?” Claudia asks as she kneels beside Stiles.“I-I *sniff* was just helping him make a moat.” Stiles says as he continued sobbing.“Oh sweetheart, you really try to help others too much. But remember what I always tell you, ask people first before helping them.” Stiles looks as her, their brown eyes meeting each other.“And I told you not to hurt anybody”.“He hit me first!” Stiles reasoned.“Scott! I told you not to hurt others.” Melissa says to Scott as she sat at the sandbox beside him, looking him in the eyes.Scott started tearing up more, “B-but *sniff* h-he ruined my s-sand castle” Scott says as he continued sniffing, “I-It was for you.”Melissa smiles at him “Oh sweetie, don’t be sad. You can make mommy another one!” she tells her son.It calms Scott down and stopped his crying.“Now, why don’t you say sorry to him”. Scott looks at his mother’s eyes.She smiles at him before nodding gesturing towards Stiles.“S-sorry I hit you.” Scott says as he approached Stiles rubbing the tears off his eyes.“I’m sorry too I shouldn’t have peed on you castle before asking” Stiles says as Claudia removed the sand on his back.“Wanna make another sand castle?” Stiles asks.“Hell yeah!” Scott says making the two mothers laugh.“I’m Scott by the way”“I’m Stiles! But it’s not my real name because its hard to say it.” Claudia chuckles at his son’s words.“And this is my twin brother Stephen! But you probably already know that” Stiles gestures towards his brother who was smiling at Scott.
Scott smiles before giggling.Stiles goes beside Scott and whispered loudly, “Don’t mind him asking you bajillion questions” Scott grins as Stephen glares at his brother, “I heard that!” he says.“No you didn’t!” Stiles says as he grabs a bucket and a shovel to start making the sandcastle.“Well that went better than I expected” Melissa says as they watch the boys from the bench near the sandbox.“Yeah… I didn’t even expect Stiles to forgive your son immediately” Claudia says as she watched the boys play in the sand.“This is the first time he got along with someone” Melissa admits.If she would be honest Scott can get along with anybody. Really. He’s friendly, curious, and a nice kid. But nobody really wants to be with him at the preschool.His asthma holds him back from playing tag and other exhausting games, so kids just tends not to ask him to join. Scott did tell her about this and recently tried asking Hannah for help since both their sons attend the same preschool but Scott had a serious asthma attack the same day they were introduced to each other. Leaving Hannah’s son frozen, scared of what’s happening to the other boy.The two boys haven’t talked to each other ever since. Perhaps Hannah’s son got scared and Scott being Scott just blames himself from scaring the other boy, despite her telling him it’s not his fault.Her Thoughts were suddenly interrupted as a woman wearing a yellow floral dress approached them.
“Claudia! Melissa!” The woman Called, It was Hannah.She was wearing a floral dress, a hat that matches, her wear with her bright blue eyes and curly sandy hair alongside her dimples made her look gorgeous.Claudia rushes towards her to hug her, joyfully telling her “It’s been a while”Hannah Responds with an English accent that made the two women chuckle “It has been indeed. Yet it seems your energy has never changed.”Suddenly Claudia noticed the two boys behind Hannah. It was her two sons Camden, the tall older son with a lean body and sandy hair that complements with his blue eyes. Then there was Isaac, the shy little boy who was hiding behind his mother’s leg.“Hi Auntie Claudia, hi Auntie Melissa” The 12-years-old boy greeted the women. “Hello Camden, look at you you’ve grown up!” Claudia remarks as she boy is almost her height at such a young age. Melissa looks at the other boy beside Hannah. “Well if it isn’t Isaac!”Melissa kneels infront of the boy as he hugs his mother’s leg tightly trying to hide from her trying to hide his little body.“Hello there sweetie” Melissa greets the boy.Isaac peeks from his mother’s leg and sees Melissa Smiling at him.“H-Hi” Isaac says as he slowly releases from his mother’s leg.“Isaac, this is Aunt Claudia” She gestures towards Claudia who gives the boy a warm smile, Isaac looks at his mother curiously which makes his mother chuckle,
“She’s also mommy’s best friend like Auntie Mel”.She says as the boy looks back at the two other mothers. Melissa puts her hand at Isaac Sandy hair and brushes it, the boy hesitates at first, stiffening his little shoulder but gives in a few seconds later as he realizes there’s nothing to be afraid of.Isaac warms up at Melissa loosening his stiff body quite fast that its surprised Hannah, “Seems like he’s not scared of you anymore” Hannah says happily as the boy has never been like this to anyone before, Melissa stood up but did not remove her eyes from the boy “He’s such a sweet child” Melissa said. Claudia, Hannah and Camden couldn’t agree more.“Isaac why don’t you play with the other boys over there?” Hannah glances towards the sandbox where Scott, Stiles and Stephen are seen making a sandcastle, Isaac looks at his mother’s eyes with worry. “Don’t worry big brother will be there with you.” She assured him.“Ok!” was Isaac’s answer as he smiled at his mother before running towards the sandbox, Hannah turns to Camden before saying to him, “Please watch over your brother and make sure nothing happens to him ok?”“Will do!” Camden says to his mother enthusiastically, as he follows behind Isaac’s tail.
Stephen notices the boy approaching them and looks at the boy cautiously, Scott and Stiles notices Stephen and turns to where he was looking and saw the boy.Isaac froze in place.Anxiety rushing over him as he has the attention of all 3 of them. He got even nervous when Stephen started walking towards him, his little body shaking from all the anxiety. “Hi” Stephen says enthusiastically and offers his hand, “Wanna play with us?”.Stephen asks, who leaves the little boy shocked, nobody has ever asked him to play with them, not even his ‘school friend’ Matt.“S-sure” Isaac hesitated to hold Stephen’s hand but Stephen grabbed his hand first, Isaac ran with Stephen towards the sandbox.Stephen’s hand felt warm he thought to himself.“What’s your name?” Stiles asked curiously, “I-I’m Isaac” He says with a little stutter.“I’m Stiles! And this is my twin Stephen!” the boy says with excitement, a little too loud perhaps.Isaac is still lost with his thoughts. Nobody’s ever wanted to talk to him before. This was new for Isaac, nobody has ever wanted to talk or play with him before other than Matt and now that someone did he felt…
Warm… he felt like he belonged.
“H-hi” Scott utters.Isaac took at good look at him before realizing who it was.
It was that boy. Isaac thought to himself
What if he remembers. Scott thought to himself
Who was huffing and puffing. Isaac continued
He definitely remembers. Scott thought to himself as they continued staring at each other
Oh.
Isaac’s thoughts get interrupted as Stiles spoke.“Oh, and this is my friend Scott!” Stiles states. Louder than the last one, as if he was proud.Scott looked at him with confused and somewhat shocked face, his thought, also interrupted.“Friend?” Scott asked, still startled by being called one.“Yeah! Your officially my friend now!” Stiles says as he lays a hand unto Scott’s shoulder with a wide grin on his face.“I” Scott stutters “I… have a friend now…” he says to himself, “I have a friend now!” he says loud and clear which startled Isaac, “You too Isaac, you’re my friend now too!” Isaac stares at stiles not knowing what to say, “Mine too!” Stephen says.“Me three!” Scott adds which makes the four boys laugh at each other. Scott stood up from the sandbox and approached Isaac.“Wanna try to be friends again?” Scott says with a smile on his face. “Sure! Past is past right?” Isaac answers.“Yeah!” Scott answers. He wasn’t expecting a quote but he knew what Isaac meant.The three boys had just finished the base of the castle when Isaac arrived, so he asked how he could help them, Stiles gave his new friend a shovel and a bucket to collect some sand.Isaac went to dig by the edge of the sandbox not accidentally ruin the castle. As Isaac was digging through the sand Camden approached him.“You like them?” he asked.“Yeah! th-they called me their friend…” Isaac answered, as he dug more sand.“I... I have friends now Cam! Friends!” Camden smiled, finally his brother would get to experience the world of friendship.Camden watched the entire thing happened. He wanted to interfere and calm Isaac down when one of the twins, Stephen, approached him, but it all went just fine, it was like Stephen knew what he was doing.Isaac finished digging went back to the three of them and handed the bucket to Stiles as they try to make the tower on top of the main base.“Who’s that?” Stephen asks as he glanced towards Camden before going back to Isaac.“Oh, that’s my older brother Camden!” Isaac says proudly.“You have an older brother!?” Stiles says in shock.“Yeah he’s the best! He runs super-fast and he even knows how to swim!” Camden smirks as hears his brother’s praises.“I wish I could run like that too” Scott says, losing his smile. Isaac knowing what he meant, also lost his smile.“You can’t run?” Stiles asks, worried of his friend.Scott starts worrying that if he says about his condition they’d suddenly stop being friends. “I…” Scott mutters.Stiles tilts his head lightly waiting for Scott to answer.Scott takes a deep breath before admitting “I-I have asthma”.Scott closes his eyes afraid to see their reaction. The three boys look at each other before Stephen asks him “What’s that?”.Scott stares at them still worrying of what might happen if the twins find out, “I-It means my lungs d-don’t work very well. It's hard for me to breathe if I run. My breath gets all wheezy”.Scott answers as he looks at the group prepared for more questions.“Oh” Stiles walks toward him and pats him in the back.Scott looks up to see Stiles smiling at him “It’s fine” Stiles assures him.“Even though you can’t play tag we could just play other games like hide and seek!” Scott pouts, crossing his arms.“I can’t play that either” Stiles frowns.“What about playing house?” Stephen suggests.“Oh, that one’s fine.” Scott answers, “As long as we don’t run too much” he adds.“Cars?” Isaac asks to which Scott's face brightens, “I can!” he says, which makes Isaac excited.“I have toy cars and trucks at home!” Scott adds.“Me too!” Isaac says excitingly.“We have toy cars at our house too!” Stiles says as he starts to build one the 4 towers for on the side of the sandcastle.“I have racetracks at home! Wanna play there sometimes?” Isaac blinks thinking about Scott’s invitation.“I’ll ask mom if I could go” as they all continue to make the sandcastle.
Meanwhile, as the boys are wondering what else they could play together, Camden joins them to help them make the castle.Their mothers are watching them happily.“I’m glad Scott’s finally playing with other kids” Melissa points out.“Does he usually play alone?” Claudia asks Melissa to which she answers “Scott tries to make friends at school… But he’s usually avoided because of his asthma.”“Me and Hannah tried to make Scott and Isaac friends but that didn’t went well because Scott had an asthma attack and it scared Isaac. They haven’t really.. talked until now.” She adds.“Isaac’s never talked about it after that day, he’s really scared about what happened.” Hannah told them.“Poor boy” Claudia muttered. “But on the bright side, look at them now. Playing together.” She says as they continue watching the boys.“Say, how about we put the boys at the same preschool?” Melissa asks as she glances towards the kids. Claudia and Hannah were surprised by the sudden suggestion their friend made.“I’m sure the twins would like it; Scott and Isaac are already at the same school” Melissa looks back at the two mothers.“That’s a great idea” Hannah says “I’m sure they would feel less lonely with the twins around” She glanced at Isaac who was happily playing with the other boys with a wide grin on his face.“I’m sure the boys will love it” Claudia says with as a wide smirk formed on her face
A few minutes later Stephen and Isaac ran towards their mothers “Mom!” They called out both wearing a bright smile across their faces, “Honey what is it?” Hannah asks her son.“We finished building our sandcastle. Look at it!” Isaac says excitingly which surprised Hannah; the boy has never acted this energetic before.‘I suppose getting him a friend was the solution after all’ Hannah thought to herself.Matt was a nice friend for Isaac but they rarely saw each other and the kid seemed to be obsessive at a specific thing at most times, most of their interests are also different except for the comics that they always like to trade and share with each other.“Yeah it looks cool! Isaac’s older brother helped us making it” Stephen says proudly cutting her thoughts. Stephen grabs Isaacs hands, Hannah continues to be surprised as Isaac didn’t hesitate nor flinched.“Isaac’s never acted like this before” Hannah gasps as they started walking towards the sandbox, still processing what had happened.“He seems to be liking his new friends.” Melissa responded hoping that Scott does as well.“Stephen has never been this friendly towards someone either, he usually asks them way too many questions.” Claudia adds.“Isaac hasn’t been this lively for so long...” Hannah smiles, knowing that her child won’t be alone anymore.“Seems like our sons have the same Issues,” Claudia mentions which draws a laugh from the two women “Seems like it,” Melissa says as they reached the sandbox.“Tadaaaaa” Stiles and Scott says as they wiggle their arms towards the sandcastle, making the four boys laugh at each other, even Camden.The castle was in average height, going up until Isaacs knees who was the smallest of the boys. It had a large base, 4 towers on each side of the castle and a moat which Stiles insisted on peeing unto again but was stopped by Stephen and Scott.“Did you guys like it?” Camden asks the three women.“Of course we like it honey” Hannah says the boys.“You guys made it, so its special to us.” She adds which makes her two sons grin Isaac runs to his mother to hug her leg as he isn’t tall to reach his mother’s waist.“What about you mom do you like it?” Scott asks his mother.“Of course sweetie you made it” the boy giggles at his mother as she brushed his curly hair.“Oh, Mom!” Scott suddenly remembers, Melissa looks at his son with curiosity. “What is it Honey?”.“It’s Stiles...” Melissa tilts her head with a questioning look. “H-He called me his friend” Melissa’s smile widened as she hears this.“Stephen and Isaac too! I… I have friends now mom.”Scott says his joyful expression seemed priceless “I have friends how!” He says proudly.Melissa hugs her son “That’s good for you honey” she says to him as he hugs her back with a wide smile on his face.“You boys should take a picture.” Claudia says taking the attention of everyone.She takes the camera from her bag while the kids position themselves, the twins went on each side of the castle Stiles on the right while Stephen was at the left while kneeling, Camden is at the middle behind the castle, with Scott on his right while Isaac was at his left.They took multiple pictures until Hannah interrupts them, “Oh? I didn’t even realize that its 10 already.” She says as she looks at her phone.“Want to eat at the local diner?” Melissa suggests “Just like old times.” She adds making the other two women laugh.“It’s been a while since the last time we ate together.” Claudia says seemingly excited. “Who’s hungry?” Melissa turns to the boys as she asked them “Me! Me!” the boys said.“Alright alright let’s get into the car.” Claudia tells the twins as each mother and sons went to their corresponding cars the boys talking about what to eat as they walked.
As they arrive at the diner Claudia notices a familiar looking patrol car.Noah, who was inside, notices the baby blue jeep and mutters “Oh god” as he tries to hide in one of the corners of the diner.Claudia parks the jeep and walks near the police car to check the license plate and sighs.Melissa approaches her grinning, Hannah follows then looking at Claudia with a curious look, smiling.“Is this Noah’s?” she asks Melissa can’t help but laugh.“It is, and Noah’s only goes here to buy one thing.” She answers her.Claudia mutters two words in a serious tone which makes the other mothers giggle “Curly Fries...”.As they walk with the kids inside the twins entered head first and immediately notices Noah “Dad!” The twins called out.“Oh my god, how did you two-” Noah groans as he looks behind the twins and sees his wife looking at him crossed arms.Noah scratches his head groaning, “You got me”.“I’ll remind you young man your health is important, didn’t I say no drinking and no curly fries?”Noah sighs hearing this as Scott approaches him and says, “Hi uncle Noah!” Scott greets him.“Hello Scott” Noah pats the boy’s headStiles looks at them with confusion written across his face.“You know dad!?” Scotts eyes widens as his expression changes to shock processing what stiles Just said “Uncle Noah’s your dad!?”The parents laughed at the two boys “How do you know him?”Stiles asks Scott as Noah answers for him “His mother works at the hospital and she brings him there sometimes, so I see him there when I have to go to the hospital.”.He explains which make’s Stiles say a soft “oh”.“Hey why don’t we sit down, people might look at us weirdly if we continue standing here.” Melissa tells them. “Plus I’m sure we all are hungry specially the kids.” Everyone moved towards a 10 – person rectangle table and sat down.Scott sat at the far right seat of the table as Stiles sat right across him with Stephen beside him. Hannah sat to the far left of the table opposite of Scott’s as Camden sat beside him, Isaac Insisted of sitting being beside his brother, he sat down and noticed Scott beside him and Stephen directly across him and giggled.Claudia sat beside Stephen facing Camden as Noah sat beside her, Melissa sat in the middle between Noah and Hannah.“Hello Camden” Camden fiddles with his fingers, looking embarrassed before saying “Hi Uncle Noah.”Hannah looks at the two of them with suspicion, “So how’s Derek?” Noah smirks as he asks the boy. Camden smiles with guilt across his face.“H-he’s fine w-we came back to Mrs. Dunbar’s house to apologize for what happened” Camden says as he gets a glare from his mother.“What do you mean?” Hannah asks as she continued glaring at him.“He hasn’t told you yet?” Noah says with a mocking smile.Camden ignores Noah and sighs and explains “M-mom w-we didn’t mean it! Derek was just teaching me on how to play basketball on our way home last Wednesday and accidentally threw the ball straight into Mrs. Dunbar’s plants… ruining it. Uncle Noah was just close by and apologized for us.”.Hannah just shakes her head sighing, “It’s good that you came back to apologize but make sure this doesn’t happen again”.Camden’s hands gestured upwards, answering “I promise it won’t!”.Melissa and Claudia just watches the conversation unfold as Hannah gives the boy a disappointed look before getting distracted by Isaac who wanted to pee.(Isaac prefers his mother to go with him because Camden Splashes Isaac with water from the sink at the restroom).As Hannah leaves with Isaac Claudia asks Camden “When you said the name Derek, was it by any chance Derek Hale?” Camden looks at Claudia, surprised, before answering.“Yeah he’s my best friend, you know him?” he asks in curiosity, Claudia smiles.“Yes I do His mother, Talia, and I are close friends.”, Camden only managed to mutter a weak “oh”.“How about you? How do you know him?” Claudia asks, “Oh he we met in first grade, we were paired in an activity and got to know each other, then we found out that we have some similar interests like reading books or running.”.“Is that so?” Claudia’s interest was piqued, Derek has never told her about Camden, despite the boy always telling her about his life and about his day.“Yeah. Although Derek sometimes acts weird, he says he can ‘smell something’ or ‘hear something’ when I don’t. He can even run so fast and so long without getting tired. Made me wonder if he’s even human.”Claudia bit her lips to prevent herself from laughing, ‘if only you knew’ she says to herself.“Still, he’s my best friend and nothing can change that” He says to Claudia.“Oh I’m pretty sure he knows that” She smiles at the boy.When Hannah and Isaac got back a waiter went to their table and asks, “What would you like to order?”. “Curly fries!” Stephen and Stiles says in unison as Stiles kicked on his seat making their parents grin.“I’d like to get cheeseburger please” Camden says.“I’d take ano-”“We’ll take two salads” Claudia interrupts Noah and glares at him.Noah groans and puts a hand on his face as he sighs. “That’s your punishment for sneaking curly fries behind my back!” Claudia turns towards Hannah, “What about you?” she asks her friend.“Oh, I’ll take salad as well” Hannah says to the waiter.Isaac looks at everyone as they order, and mutters “I want pizza” Scott who was beside him hears this and whispers ‘me too’ at him making both of them giggle.“What about you two” Hannah asks the two boys behind Camden, Isaac fiddles his fingers as his mother asked him “C-can we get Pizza?” Isaac says unsure if his mother would allow him.“Of course, honey today is a special day for you. So today I’ll make an exception” Isaac’s face brightens as his mother brushes his hair
“We’ll take all meat pizza please” Hannah says as she turns towards the waiter. “Sure do! Your food will be ready in a few minutes, although the pizza might get delayed.”.“Oh that’s fine we can wait.” Hannah assures the waiter.The waiter takes his leave Stephen turns to his mother beside him “Can we go to Scott or Isaac’s house sometimes?”“Pleaaase” He says with puppy eyes that he learned from Scott earlier, Melissa can’t help but laugh at the sight “Did Scott teach you that?” Scott pouts and turns away, his face red like a tomato from embarrassment.“Yeah! We can’t convince Stiles to not pee on the sandcastle. Then his eyes turned big and cute, and then it made Stiles stop.”Stiles pouted hearing this. He really wanted to moat it with his pee.“Nobody has ever convinced Stiles to stop before so I asked him how to do it!” Stephen says proudly making Scotts face even redder.All of them laugh at the boys as Scott get’s more embarrassed.Claudia turns back into Stephen “Yes Stephen, it’s fine you and Mischief can go to their house and they can go to ours”.She tells him, Stephen and Stiles glee in joy as Claudia turns to the Adults “Do you guys mind?” She asks them.“Oh no we don’t at all” Melissa says as she faces towards Hannah, “Right?” Hannah nods to Melissa.“Yes we don’t mind the boys can go to the house.” She tells Claudia as the food arrived, “You think dad won’t bother?” Camden asks.Joseph Lahey, his father, doesn’t like visitors in their house and prohibits sleepovers. “Oh don’t worry about him, as long as it's not an overnight stay he wouldn’t mind. Plus, they're just kids wanting to play with each other” Hannah tells his son as she pat his shoulder.“If you guys wanted to do a slumber party they could go to ours.” “Raf won’t mind” Melissa suggests.Noah snorts at her who shrugs it off and just smiles at him, “He wouldn’t mind as long as he isn’t drunk” Noah scoffed earning a glare from Claudia, as Melissa just laughs it off, “As if your any different from him” Claudia argues which leaves Noah scratching his head.Rafael was Claudia’s cousin and Noah doesn’t trust and hated the man from the day he met him. Then hated him even more when Melissa finally introduced her ‘mysterious boyfriend’ to him and turned out to be the man he hated the most. Over the past years the two men argued and bickered a lot, Rafael drinks, just like Noah but unlike Noah who gets softer and sweet when he’s drunk, Rafael gets more aggressive, but according to Melissa he has never hit her nor Scott but argues almost every day because of it. Noah also classified the man as a Douche for whatever reason.“Noah, don’t worry about it, Raf would never hit anyone even when he’s drunk or angry. Even though we fought a lot more lately he still loves...” with a pause Melissa wonders, do they still love each other?“Scott” ‘I was supposed to be the word us damnnit’ she told herself as she glances at her friends who were looking worried at her.She was thankful and relieved when nobody decided to bring it up but she can’t stop thinking about her relationship with Rafael.This isn’t the first time she wondered if they still wanted their relationship.Sure they apologized to each other each night and it felt genuine, and both loved Scott with all their heart but the arguing and his Alcohol addiction, made the feeling of affection seem like it was no longer there.Rafael isn’t a bad person and she knows it but he’s slowly becoming a drunkard and it's slowly becoming a problem as they argued more and more through each passing day.
Her thoughts gets interrupted as the waiter arrived with the pizza.The 4 boys happily munched down their food.Stiles’ body seemed to be vibrating while talking to Scott about pizza history. “Did you know that the pizzas came from…” Stiles continued rambling about it for a while before Claudia interrupted.“Stiles” Claudia cuts him in a soft tone.Stiles covers his mouth as he gulps down the pizza “’orry” he says as he takes another pizza.“ADHD?” Melissa asks Claudia as Stiles continued talking to Scott with Stephen and Isaac joining them.“Yeah, he got diagnosed 3 months ago.” Claudia’s tone somber. “But it’s not so bad.”.Melissa just silently nods and quickly changes the topic, “So, how about putting the boys at the same preschool?” She brings up the suggestion from earlier.“Scott and Isaac already attends the same school” She says as she turns towards Claudia.“I’ll ask the twins first before deciding.”Claudia tells her as she eats her salad “I’m sure they’ll love it” Noah assures her.“Yeah, I think they will.” Claudia glances towards the twins who were offering Scott and Isaac their curly fries with smiles across their faces.She lets out a sigh of relief ‘yeah I think they’ll love it’ she says to herself.They finished eating their food and starts saying their goodbyes as they leave the Diner.Scott walks towards Stiles and asks him if they want to be best friends in which Stiles says yes enthusiastically before jumping up and down in joy as Scott laughs at his new best friend.Stephen was the one to approach a smiling Isaac who he asks if they could be best friends as well, Isaac’s face brightened after hearing what Stephen said and immediately accepts it by hugging him, Stephen was startled by the sudden affection Isaac gave him but hugs him back aswell.Scott and Stiles hugs each other as well before saying their goodbyes to everyone, Claudia walks the twins back to Roscoe, Noah following them.“You better be home by dinner, I’ll be feeding you salads for a week!” Claudia stares down at Noah who groans before muttering “Yes ma’am”.He lifting the twins back into their seat. Noah returns to his patrol car as he drives back to the station.“Bye dad!” The twins wave to their father as he smiles and waves back at them.Claudia starts the jeep and glances towards the twins beside her, “Did you have fun today?” she asks the twin.“Yeah!” Stiles says raising both of his hands in the air.“Scott’s my best friend now!” he adds his face and voice expressing the most amount of joy Claudia had ever seen the boy’s been.“Me too! I like Isaac and now he’s my best friend too!” Stephen says with a smile reaching his eyes.
Claudia smiles in relief, happy that the boys had finally found people they’d get along with. She hopes no matter what happens they’d stick together till the end…
Only if she knew how much truth the thought had in the future.
