Work Text
Shit.
Claudia thought to herself. She promised her agent when she got signed up to be a host on the gameshow that she wouldn't lash out at anyone like at her last job—that didn't look good on her resume.
She couldn't stand it when people were disrespectful and stuck up, plus some people just need a good humbling.
Now she was at a new job and was prepared for a fresh start; she just had to work with kids and contestants—not too difficult, right? It turns out the other host of the gameshow was a certain someone she met in college.
Teddy. The stuck-up jock that played at least half of her friends. She never saw the appeal, like yeah, he was tall, but she would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard for ten hours straight than hear him say a single sentence.
She felt herself mentally roll her eyes when she saw him start to make his way over to her.
"Hello! Clarissa right?" He said, putting his hand out for her to shake.
"Claudia. Nice to see you again, Theodore." She said sternly, giving him a firm handshake.
"Come on, you can call me Teddy; we're friends." He said, running his hand through his hair.
She stood there in silence as he fixed his hair and stared at his reflection in the office window behind her. She wanted to just walk away right there and then, but the job was too important for her reputation.
"Hey, come on, we may as well be friends if we are going to run a gameshow together." He said, flashing a smile with his pearly whites.
While she wanted to punch his teeth in or yell at him for what he did in college, she needed to stay professional, plus the past is past now and she needed the job.
"I suppose, but this is strictly a work friendship. Nothing else." She said with a glare.
"Alright, Clarice, whatever you say." He said with a smirk.
"It's Clau-," she started to fight back but cut herself off, realizing it probably wasn't worth it. She rolled her eyes at the man in front of her and walked away towards her office to get situated.
Standing there and watching her walk away with a smirk, Teddy received a call from his agent. He picked it up and walked in the other direction.
The end...or is it?
