“Make a sound and I’ll gut you like a pig.” The man growled in Finney’s ear. A shiver slid down the boys back as he felt the blade of the switchblade to his neck dig in just a little bit more. He had chicken skin and his lungs were on fire. His hands grasped at the grass below them. His eyes darted to the doorway as the porch light turned on. It’s now of never. Life or death.“HE-“ finney yelled. Just as he started he ended. The blade slid across his throat, his skin tearing so hard from the dull knife that he could hear the sound. His lungs burned even more as he skin around the fresh cut painted red. Finney reached up to his neck, gasping and choking as fresh hot blood filled his lungs. He tried to scream but he was rolled onto his back. The grabber sat intop of the boy. Finney’s eyes glinted with thick fresh tears. He tried to stick his arms out to stop the man ontop of him. The grabber raised the blade above his head and dug it into Finney’s chest with a thick crunch. Finney’s back arched in pain as he tried to let out a yell. The blade ripped down his torso, his vision started to blur with tears. His ears were ringing, he could hear the faint yelling of an elderly woman. The world suddenly went dark. The pain was over a minute after, his ears stopped picking up sound. The last thing he felt was one last tear slide down his cheek as his lungs pushed out what little breath was left. His eyes glossy and looking at the stars. How he wished he could be one of them now. “Hey! Get off my lawn you bum!” A elderly lady yelled at the boy passed out on her lawn, poking the sleeping boy with her cane. Finney groaned and rolled onto his side. Suddenly he realized. He’s not dead. He sat up, his head aching, he open his eyes and glanced at the surrounding area. The sky was a brighter blue and barely cloudy, the birds were singing, and a very very pissed off grandma was yelling at him. “All of you bummy teens! Drinking all night and passing out on my lawn! My lawn!?! I remember when the elderly were respected!” Finney let out a breath, fighting back the erge to groan. He stood up and bowed his head to the lady.“I’m so sorry ma’am. I didn’t mean to disrespect you.” Finney sucked up to the old lady. She grinned and nodded triumphantly, then turned.
“Sence your here and clearly owe me a favor, how about you carry my groceries in and maybe I might make you something to eat.” The old lady stated, not even asking. She tossed finney her car keys and started walking towards her house. Finney nodded and walked towards the old pick up, odd for an old lady but he didn’t wanna ask any questions. He opened the bed of the truck and grabbed the brown bags of items. He stalked the items ontop of his arms and slowly carried them inside. He set the bags of things down on the counter. The old lady grabbed some of the food and started on a batter.
“So boy tell me, why do you look so skinny? Everything okay at home?” The old lady asked. Finney raised an eyebrow.
“Finney, and uhh, I don’t think so?” Finney rubbed the back of his neck, was there something wrong at home? It was the usual crazy. Finney was pulled out of his thoughts by the old lady.
“Can you go get my grandson please finney? He needs to set the table. He’s upstairs and to the right.” The old lady spoke as she turned on the burner and put butter on the pan. Finney nodded and got off the chair. He silently walked to the stairs and up them. Walking on his tippy toes. As he walked he tried to wrap his mind around the whole situation. Maybe it was a dream? No, it felt way too real. His mind kept running through his hurting head. He sighed and shook his thoughts away and approached the door, he knocked confidently.“Yeah?” A male voice rang. Finney cleared his throat.
“Ahem- uh- your grandma said to grab you to set the table.” Finney said, not knowing who he was talking to. The door opened and revealed a very sleep ridden boy. Finney looked at him, his eyes widened.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Griffin stagg.Finney felt his breath catch in his throat. He looked at the boy. ‘Holy shit! He’s alive… wait. That means, it was a dream! It has to be!’ He thought to himself. He smiled at himself. Griffin looked the tall boy up and down.“The fuck you lookin at, and what are you doing here.” Griffin spat, finney was gagged for words. He looked at the boy, who had seemed so weak over the phone. But he was a little asshole.“I-uh- shit your an asshole.” Finney sighed and leaned against the wall. “Your grandma invited me in. Now she wants you to clear the table so go ahead short stack.” Finney crossed his arms. He was NOT about to suck up to a boy who may or may not die in the future. But that didn’t mean anything now. Griffin gave the odd boy a glance and scoffed. He walked down the stairs. Finney followed.“Me ma! I thought I told you to stop trying to make me make friends. I have one and I’m more than happy with him!” Griffin spoke as he walked down the stairs and to the kitchen and dining room, finney walked into the doorway. The old lady gave the smaller boy a daring glare and he shut up, he grabbed the silverware. Four sets. Finney raised an eyebrow at the extra set of cutlery. He glanced at the older lady as she tried to grab the large plate of pancakes and other foods. Finney didn’t waste a breath walking up and grabbing the plates from her and carrying them to the table. He set them down in the middle of the circular table. The old lady followed him and placed a hand on his back.“Oh why thank you young man! Gosh how I wish my grandsons would be like you. All they do is complain and raise my bills!” The old lady said, flashing finney a toothy grin.“Grandsons?” Finney questioned. The orderly lady nodded as she walked towards a chair. Finney followed and pulled the chair out for her.“Oh thank you young man, and yes. My other one comes every school year and stays here for the year, then stays with his mom during the summer. And this one.” She pointed and boney finger at griffin, who was playing a game boy. “His parents passed when he was younger so he’s here forever.” Finney nodded and sat down. Then he had half the mind to ask the question.“Is your other grandson here?”“Him? Oh not yet. He arrives today and he should be here any minute.” Finney nodded and the old lady’s words and glanced ahead the door. He never really put much thought into who griffin really was.The door opened. And in walked none other then the one the only, the one who really scared the caramel headed boy.Pinnball Vance hopper. He stuffed the keys he used to unlock the door into his ripped pockets and kicked his boots off.“Young man! You better straighten those shoes out!” The women yelled as he sipped her coffee. Vance sighed and put the boots away gingerly. He then looked upright and made direct eye contact with finney. The boy shrunk back at the sight of the angry blonde. The boys eyes then shifted the griffin, who shrugged.“The fuck you doing here.” Vance grunted. Finney could feel the sweat beading on his forehead. But he can’t back down now. Do what Robin taught him.“I was invited in.” Finney stated calmly.“And why should I give a fuck, get out freak.” Vance huffed and glared at the boy.“No thank you. I’m not here for you, I’m here for the nice elderly lady who invited me for breakfast. You ‘get the fuck out’” finney spat at the boy. He knew that was risky but you only live once right?“Hah, shit I like you kid. What’s your name.” Vance grinned as he walked to the cabinet and grabbed a cup and filled it with orange juice.“Finney blake. You must be pinball Vance.” Finney said as he rubbed his pointer and thumb together. Vance walked over to the table and sat down.“I suppose I am, so you go to my school? Or just stalk me.” Vance asked. Finney smirked.“Yeah right, like I would stalk you, get your head out of your ass.” Finney retorted. Griffin spat milk from his nose and started choking back laughter. Vance raised an eyebrow.“Shit I like you kid, your a little pain in the ass.” Vance grinned and grabbed a pancake and took a bite.“It’s finney Blake.” Vance choked on the bite.“Finney Blake! As In robins bitch?” Vance asked wide eyed.“I’m not his bitch.” Finney retorted and crossed his arms.“No but he’s yours!” Griffin chimed in. Vance nodded in griffin’s direction.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Breakfast was over and it seemed the two boys have taken a liking for finney, but not more than their grandma. After a hour or two it finally clicked that finney should go home.“Oh shit- I should go, my dad is gonna kill me!” Finney said as he stood up and took his dish to the sink.“Vance why don’t you drive the poor boy home.” The elderly woman demanded. Vance nodded and pulled his keys out. He trudged to the door and put his boots on. Finney finished washing his dish and walked to the door.“Thank you for the food! I’ll see you at school griffin.” Finney said before walking out, followed by Vance. Vance unlocked the doors to the ‘69 Chevy impala. He hopped into the drivers seat and waited for finney to get in. Finney slid into the passenger side and closed the door.“Where to?”“Oh uh… -blank- address” finney said as he rubbed his two fingers together, which is something he started doing during the incident/ dream. Vance put the car into gear and sped off.“Hey, girlscout. What’s with you?” Vance asked as he drove, sometimes glancing at the boy.“Hm? Oh I’m fine. Why do you ask?” Finney asked.“You have this like stretch mark thing on your neck. And you keep running your hand along it like you’re trying to find something.” Vance said. And it was true, finney did keep checking to see if there was anything on his neck to indicate the things that happened in the dream where real. But the stretch mark, he didn’t know that was there. He raised a hand to his neck.“I uh, I don’t know. I just do it when I’m nervous I guess.” Finney said. He glanced at Vance, who was dead staring ahead him. “Hey buddy, eyes on the road. I don’t wanna die because I was stupid enough to get into a car with you.” Finney smiled at the blonde. Vance rolled his eyes and turned to the road.Vance rolled to a stop outside of Finney’s house.“Thanks hopper.” Finney said as he got out. Vance nodded and drove off. Finney looked at the driveway, there was no car out front. His dad wasn’t home. Finney smiled and walked in. Gwen’s boots were lazly thrown around, meaning he hadn’t been home for a bit. Finney kicked off his worn down converse and walked to his room, he was so tired. He changed into some sweats and a grey t-shirt. He put his hair up into a little ponytail and layed down. He stared at the ceiling. The popcorn ceiling looking just like the stars from his dream. Finney sighed and rolled onto his side. Sleep slowly taking him.“Finney! Finney!” Gwen whisper yelled as she shook the sleeping boy. Finney waved her hands away and rolled onto his side.“What Gwen.” Finney groaned and pulled the blanket over his head. Gwen huffed and grabbed the mattress and started to slightly lift it.“Get up or im gonna flip you off the mattress.” Gwen warned. Finney slid the blanket down just to give Gwen a glance.“No you wo-“ finney was cut off by Gwen bending down and putting her whole body into flipping the mattress and her brother off the bed. “Aaa! Gwen!” Finney yelled as he hit the floor. He groaned and just layed starfish.“Finney get up. We have the first day of school today and your little boyfriend is here so go say hi.” Gwen huffed and kicked Finney’s foot.“Owww fine fine! No need to be so rude! And he’s not my boyfriend!” finney huffed and grabbed his foot. He got up walked downstairs to go meet Robin.“Hey rob, sorry it took me so long I slept in.” Finney said as he walked into the living room and rubbed the back of his neck. He looked ahead the Hispanic boy. “Rob are you okay? Your face is all red!” Finney said obliviously. Robbing nodded frantically.“Oh! I uh- I’m fine- I just uh- I’m thirsty!” Robin chirped trying to hide his blush. Finney nodded.“Well you know where everything is, I’m gonna get changed then I’ll meet you down here in like 15?” Finney asked as he walked to his room. Robin nodded and got some water to calm himself down.Finney walked down a little while later, in some blue jeans and a boring grey t-shirt. He threw on his shoes and said bye to Gwen since suizies mom was giving her a ride. Finney and Robin then left.Finney locked the door behind him and stuffed his key in his bag. When he turned to Robin the was that the boy was eyeing something.“Uh, rob what’s up?” Finney asked. Robin then pointed to the street.“Who’s that? Why are they waiting outside your house.” Robin accused as he eyed the vehicle in the road. Finney turned his attention to where Robin was pointing and what he was shocked him.It was.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It was the hot headed blonde that finney had spent half the day with yesterday.Finney looked at Robin and sheepishly giggled.“Oh uh… I think it’s Vance? He might pick me up or something” finney brushed it off, side glancing Robin. Whose jaw was practically on the floor.“Wait wait wait- Vance? Vance HOPPER?! As in pound your face in at one wrong glance Vance hopper!?” Robin screeched, finney let out a stifled laugh at Robin’s expression.“Yeah, me and him hung out yesterday. He’s actually really cool” finney smiled. He grabbed robins backpack and started dragging him over to the car, grinning. “You should meet him! Maybe he will give us a ride!” Finney spoke in a cheery tone, clearly trying to piss Robin off.“Finn! Let go! I’m not gonna meet him!!” Robin yelled and gripped at the air, trying to get away from finney, but it was too late. They were at the passenger window. Finney still held onto the boys bag as he knocked on the window smiling. After a few seconds the window rolled down. Revealing Vance in the drivers seat and griffin in the passenger.“Get in!” Griffin yelled as he leaned over his seat and opened the back door.“Okay, uh can Robin come too?” Finney asked not moving from his spot.“Yes now get in!” Vance grunted. And threw his thumb to the back seat, finney nodded fr and pushed Robin into the car, then slid in himself.“No need to be so rude hopper, god.” Finney huffed and rolled his eyes, when he looked back he saw griffin with tears rolling down his cheeks from laughter, Robin looking like he’s seen a ghost, and Vance hopper turned around and looking at finney deadpan. “What? Got sum to say blondie.” Finney asked and raised an eyebrow at the boy. Vance flipped him the bird and finney retired the favor.“I should leave your ass on the side of the road.” Vance spat half joking.“Your the one that like forced me in your car.” Finney spat back, at this point griffin was wheezing and Robin was shell shocked, and scared for his and Finney’s life’s.“Oh shut up spaghetti arms” Vance retorted, finney in response stuck his tongue out.“Yeah okay old man!” Finney grinned at Vance.“Finney!” Robin whisper yelled. Finney side glanced him then went back to looking at Vance, Vance had a shit eating grin. He sat right in his seat and put the car in drive.“Whatever Blake, I’m hungry so we’re gonna grab some breakfast from the grab n go.” Vance said as he drove off.Robin still looked shell shocked at Finney’s audacity and the fact that he spoke up to Vance and nothing happened.“Mk” finney hummed as he looked out the window.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The group had arrived at school, Vance almost crashing more then five times and Robin yelling a fair lot. The four had gotten closer though. Finney couldn’t help to smile at that.He slung his bag over his shoulder and waved the other three off before walking to class, the dream still in his mind.He plopped down in his seat, throwing his bag on the table and grabbing a piece of paper, he had to write it down while every thing was fresh. He can’t forget about the dream. His pencil scraped against the paper all of class, the teacher not even bothering to see why he wasn’t focused. Even after the bell rang he was still sat down, scribbling words onto the back of the paper. His eyes glued to the full paper like a maniac. He ripped another page out and started writing. That’s when a pen tapped his desk.“Blake, I’m really happy you find writing so interesting and that my teaching is so inspiring. But you need to head to your second period. I’ll write you a pass.” Finney’s teacher, Mr. Ford said before walking to his desk and writing out a pass for finney. Finney packed up and walked over.“Oh, thanks Mr. ford.” Finney said as he reached for the paper, but just as he was about to grab it, Mr. Ford pulled it back.“Sence you were so unfocused, you weren’t able to partner up for the project. So I’ll partner you up with Billy. He wasn’t here today. Now go to class Blake.” Mr, Ford said before handing the pass to finney.Finney nodded and walked out of the classroom. He looked at the pass.FORD- working on assignment excuse the tardy.Finney smiled, maybe he can take a quick detour. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a loose dollar bill. He grinned triumphantly and turned on his heel to the front of the school. As we walked up to the vending machines, he began to think of what he would get. He loved skittles and sometimes hot chips. He stood infront of the machine and looked at the verity. He put his pointer finger to him mouth and let out a hum. His eyes wandering over everything. He knew Robin loved hot chips too and his next class was with Robin so he made the obvious choice. He inserted the bill and pressed the buttons. He stepped back and watched as the print like metal twirled and pushed the bag of hot chips forwards. But much to his surprise, the machine stopped.“You have got to be shitting me.” Finney huffed. He looked at the schedule on the wall then on his watch. He has to hurry to class. He groaned and grabbed the sides of the machine and started shaking it. “Give.” Shake. “Me!” Shake. “My!” Shake. “Fucking!” Kick. “Chips!” shake. “You!” Shake. “Piece!” Shake. “Of!” Shake “sh-““Need some help with that?” A voice rang from the left of finney. His shoulders bunched up as he looked over them. It was Bruce. He had a hall monitor pin on his backpack strap. Finney stepped back and cleared his throat.“Oh uh! Yes please” he said kind of sheepishly. He didn’t think anyone would hear his outbursts. Bruce nodded and grabbed some keys from his pocket and unlocked the glass door on the machine. He grabbed the half served bag of chips and then a hersheys bar for himself. He closed and locked the door. He tossed the bag to finney who had to almost dive to catch it.“So I am gonna need to see a pass buddy.” Bruce said as he took a bite of the chocolate. Finney looked up for a second then nodded and reached into his pockets. He grabbed the slip of paper and handed it to Bruce. The boy nodded and handed the paper back. “Here let me walk you to class.”Finney nodded and grabbed his bag which he had thrown on the floor. He turned on his heel and started walking.“So uh, why are you a hall monitor? That’s like the worst job. You have to have a stick up your ass.” Finney said mindlessly as he walked. Bruce let out a snort of laughter and that’s when finney realized what he had said. “Oh shit! Wait I didn’t mean it like that-!” Bruce waved his hand out as he cleared his throat.“I need the credit for graduation. So it’s either this or I take another math class next year. And I chose this. It isn’t that bad, sometimes I get to meet some cool people. And I get the keys to everything.” Bruce grinned as he showed off the set of keys he had used earlier. Finney looked at the keys then at Bruce.“Smart, you know you aren’t bad for a hall monitor.” Finney smiled at Bruce as he walked up to the door of his classroom. It was his history teacher and he was sure she had something out for him so of course the door was locked. Finney sighed and rubbed his head. Bruce smiled and tossed the keys to finney. “Oh! Right.” Finney smiled as he remembered Bruce had the keys to everywhere. Finney unlocked the door and handed the keys back to Bruce. Bruce waved at him and walked away. Just as finney turned around his teacher was up his ass.“And WHERE have you been young man!?” She pointed a finger in his face.“I was in Mr fords finishing an assignment.” Finney said as he dug around in his pocket.“Well I’m gonna need a-““Pass, here you go.” Finney said as he handed her the pass and walked to his seat. The seats were in groups of threes and finney sat in a middle seat with Robin to his right. There was supposed to be a kid to his left but the kid had never shown up to class.Till today.
