It’s a lot harder to clean her closet than Yayoi initially thought— she just couldn’t toss anything away! That’s why Iori is here to help, or at least trying to, because Yayoi figured her friend would have better discipline with this kind of stuff.
She does, but Yayoi’s lack of discipline is proving to be a lot stronger.
“You can’t possibly want to keep this old thing,” Iori scrunches her nose as she holds up an old tattered sweater she dug up from the back of the closet. “The color is fading and it’s got holes all over it from moth bites! You have to throw this out.”
“No way!” Yayoi snatches it back and examines it. “I can still patch this up!”
“Yayoi, it’s at least a size too small for you.”
“Then my sister will wear it.”
“That’s not fair to your sister! Why would you want her to wear that ugly, raggedy thing?” Iori flinches when Yayoi’s eyes well up with tears. “I-I’m sorry, I’m not saying your taste in clothes is bad, I just wanted to say that you shouldn’t keep this anymore.”
“No, you’re right,” Yayoi’s bottom lip trembles. “It’s not fair that my little sister has to wear my hand-me-downs when I can’t take care of them properly.”
Iori sighs in relief. “
Whew.
It’s okay, we’ll buy her a new sweater, one she’ll really like—”
“I just need to get better at sewing and I’ll be able to add cute flower patches all over!” Yayoi folds the sweater and stuffs it back into the closet. “Don’t worry, Kasumi, I’ll fix this for you! It’ll be good as new before your birthday!”
Okay, that’s a lost cause.
Iori shakes her head and turns to other things strewn around in the room. There are bows, ribbons, barrettes, heart-shaped and flower-patterned clips… “What about these? I don’t see you wear any of these hair accessories.” The girl’s jaw drops when she realizes all of them are broken in some way. “Yayoi! I’m telling you, you don’t need these!”
Yayoi attempts to wrestle them out of Iori’s hands. “No! I can fix them, I have glue!”
“NO YAYOI!!!”
