Author's note: And here we are, on to the second part of Mammon's new life journey and now he is home for good. I hope you all enjoy this next installment.
The citizens of the Flame ring were surprised when one of Astaroth’s rings appeared in the sky above them, even more surprised when a unknown dragon flew from within followed by Astaroth himself. Many moved out of the way quickly as the dragon crashed into the streets, Astaroth was quick to change from his phoenix form to land as the large dragon form vanished, leaving a dazed, and confused Mammon knelling in the streets, holding something to his chest.“Mammon, are ya okay?” Astaroth asked, hurrying over to his side.“Yeah – huh, how’d I get here?” Mammon frowned, looking around and realising he wasn’t in the Devildom anymore, let alone the Palace treasury.“Ya first form change. Ya were magnificent.” Astaroth chuckled. “Ya did burn down his palace too. Ya really take after ya mother and I.” He added with a grin.“Ah, right – I got Berith’s core back!” Mammon looked down at it as his father lifted him to his feet as Morax and the the others came running. “They had my egg too. Got that first… I remembered something…” Mammon became distracted, trying to find away to free the core from the odd device.“Mammon, you’re okay!” Morax embraced him tightly. “I was so scared.” Mammon nuzzled into her happily.“I’m okay.” Mammon told her. “And we don’t need to go back now. I’ve got Berith, we can have the ball here.” Morax smiled and kissed his forehead.“Yes, welcome home.” Morax welcomed him softly, before Mammon could answer, he own vision fell dark. Astaroth caught him before he fell.“That took a lot outta him.” Astaroth smiled softly. “Lets get him back home.” Morax agreed happily. That night the streets of the Flame ring was alight with celebration. The first Prince was finally home.~*~*~*~Mammon woke the next morning in a new room, with similar décor to his room back in the Golden manor, only more extravagant. For once, the need to explore was not there, replaced with a deep set tired ach. Mammon grumbled, hiding himself under the heavy blankets to try and sleep more, but the sound of footsteps outside the room caught his attention. The door to the room open and closed, he peeked out of the blankets to see Paimon who was opening the curtain and windows to let in some air.“Good morning young Prince.” Paimon greeted kindly, Mammon wore a small frown as he glanced around.“Where’s Haagenti?” He asked, Paimon smiled as he headed to the closet to find him some clothes.“He is currently resting, we are – currently – in the dark about what those demons did to him, but he was injured. From what it seemed like, your fire freed him which allowed him to fly out free – but it had already dealt a heavy blow to him.” Paimon explained, as he looked through the clothing. “So, whilst he is resting, your father has asked me to tend to you in his stead.” Mammon eyed him for a moment.“You fought Lemuel, didn’t ya?” He asked, Paimon just laughed.“And won!” He added proudly. “But is this arrangement okay for you, young prince?”“Can we check on Haagenti?” Mammon questioned.“We can once we have you clothed for the day.” Paimon nodded. “Please let me know if you have any issues with the clothes, okay?” Mammon did feel a little bit odd in the clothing Paimon had arranged, much more formal then he was used too, with a waistcoat, button up, granted his trouser were less formal compared to the rest of the outfit, but he found it still worked nicely with the rest of it – and wearing it did fill him with an odd sense of pride. He followed Paimon down the long halls, he was greeted with a polite nod by many of the castle staff, as they were hurrying about their business.“It feels so busy.” Mammon commented. “Is it normally like this?”Paimon chuckled, “The heir has come home at last. The whole realm is busy for different reasons.” Paimon told him. “Normally you would have a whole Wing of the palace to yourself, however, we had assumed we would have more time to prepare it. That was fortunately not the case, but everyone now wishes to get it ready for you as quickly as possible. I daresay by tonight you will be able to sleep in your own room. Then you shall be busy as we will need to shop for your personal décor.”“That’s pretty fast.” Mammon mumbled, a little embarrassed so many were working so hard for him.“Well, we want to treat our prince right.” Paimon stopped beside a door. “Would you like me to join you, or would you prefer to speak to Haagenti alone?”“Alone, please.” Mammon said, before stepping into the room. Haagenti was sitting up in bed, reading a book, looking clearly displeased with the situation, and bandaged up – looking a little worse for wear. And it hurt Mammon, as he could immediately tell what they had done to his steward. Haagenti glanced up when he entered, the look of annoyance changed to relief and joy.“My lord-” he made a move to get up, but mammon hurried to his side to stop him.“Please, for now, just rest and heal. That’s all I ask of ya.” Mammon said and sat down next to the bed. “How are ya feeling? Please, be honest.”“Haagenti looked at him for a moment before sighed softly, a small smile appearing on his features. “A bit achy, I honestly don’t remember much. I recall that older brother of yours was a part of it. And I know it was your flames that freed me, and healed me a little, it woke me from wherever they had locked me up in. Thank you.” Haagenti smiled, but looked worried as he noticed Mammon’s frowned. “Somethings tells me you already know this feeling, maybe too well.”“Yea… all too well. I wish I could forget it.” Mammon said. “Please speak to me if you remember anything.”“And if I do, I hope you can open up to me. It’s not safe to shoulder such a burden by yourself.” Haagenti replied, tone gentle causing Mammon to tear up.“I gotta remember I ain’t a burden here.” Mammon sniffed.“Never were, never will be. At least confide in your parents, or friends. Let them help.” Haagenti smiled. “You are a good kid Mammon. They were lying to you to keep you trapped. Please remember that.”“I’ll try.” Mammon wiped away his tears. “I’m glad ya okay.”“As am I, and I am glad you are free, I shall be here all day, you should go and see your parents.” Haagenti told him.“Yea – I’ll check in later. Don’t move around too much, keep resting.” Mammon ordered.“Of course, my lord.” Haagenti chuckled.Mammon let out a sigh as he left the room, door closing behind him, causing Paimon to chuckle.“Don’t worry, young Prince. He is being closely watched.” Paimon assured him.“Ah, good. I feel bad he was hurt because of me.” Mammon frowned.“What happened was not your fault, it was a dangerous play on their part. Another attempt to trap you with them and away from us. To accuse you of the theft of an unknown item – I could smell the lie a mile away.” Paimon told him. “The fault lies purely on those demons. You are just another victim of their abuse., not a perpetrator or cooperator with their schemes.” Mammon teared up at his words. Paimon ruffled his hair. “Now, I hear Miss. Decarabia has arrived. Would you like to go and greet her.” Mammon smiled and nodded as he wipes away his tears once again.~*~*~*~Mammon stood on the balcony overlooking the grand entrance of the palace, watching as staff were rushing back and forth, seeming even busier than before. Paimon said nothing, standing back to let him make his way at his own pace.“I had heard we had a few celestial guests.” Mammon was startled as Cara stood next to him, joining him in watching the staff. He blushed slightly as she smiled at him. “They arrived this morning. Everyone appears to be in a tizzy over it.”“Oh, I see…” Mammon mumbled, “Morning Cara.”“Good morning, how are you feeling?” Cara asked “I don’t really know right now.” Mammon admitted after a moments silence. “I’m free. I got Berith. And now angels are here – not sure whether to be happy or scared.”“It’s a lot all at once, I understand it must be a lot.” Cara nodded. “Take your time, don’t rush because you feel that is what people expect. Healing takes time, especially emotional scars.” Mammon smiled at her kind words, before he glanced around.“Where is everyone else?” Mammon asked, Cara chuckled.“Well, Dan pressured father into starting his training to be your personal guard – father could not argue with him. Baal is working with her family now for the Ball. Now it is happening here, we are going with bigger is better, and from a few of the ideas she shared it will be a thousand times grander then the original. Malphas is working with his father to collect the evidence of the demons crimes, and ensuring there is a guard set for ther Golden Manor, even if no one will be living there they don’t wish to risk demons trying to destroy it.” Cara explained, “And Malius is asleep, Father thinks that now he has fulfilled his primary desire, he will go through his first growth, meaning he will be hibernating for at least a few days.” Cara explained. “Remind me to explain what the First growth is later. I suppose your parents are in the meeting with the Celestial Guests.”“Yea…” Mammon frowned, he hadn’t seen any angels since the fall, and he was naturally nervous about possibly meeting them again – who had even arrived? – Was it anyone he knew? – they had every right to hate him, but could he deal with that head on right now after everything that had happened? He was pulled from, his spiralling thoughts by Cara taking his arm in hers, smiling softly.“Come, let’s go together. I will protect you, if need be,” she told him, Mammon smiled softly and nodded.“Okay.” He agreed, they linked arms as Cara led the way to his mother’s primary office within the Palace.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Author's note: I think it is time, two brothers were finally reunited.
Mammon and Cara stopped outside of the lounge door, hearing voices, even laughter within. Mammon froze, Cara could feel him trembling. She looked at him with growing concern, mammon looked conflicted as he listened to the voices.“Would you prefer not to meet them just yet? We could take a walk around the garden’s instead?” Cara offered softly, Mammon was still surprised at her level of understanding and care, and whilst it was tempting offer, he knew he could not run from meeting them forever.“No, I’ll be okay…” Mammon replied. “I am safer here…” He told himself, “Okay, I am ready.” Paimon smiled and stepped forward knocking on the door.“Your majesties, the young Prince and Lady Decarabia have arrived.” Paimon stated.“Come in.” Mammon relaxed at the sound of his mother’s voice, Paimon opened the door and let them enter. Mammon kept his eyes on his parents as the room fell silent. His parents were sitting side by side, Berith’s core settled upon his mother’s lap. “Good morning Mammon, did you sleep well?”“Yep, best night sleep ever.” Mammon replied with a smile, as he nervously glanced to the Celestial guests, only to freeze noticing how one had risen from their seat. An angel he had never expected to see again “M-Michael?” He said nervously, Michael just hurried to him and embraced him tightly. Mammon froze up, but soon wrapped his arms around Michael and held him tightly, trying his best not to cry.“I am so happy to see you.” Michael sniffed, he let Mammon go but noticed how tightly he was being held and growing wet spot on his chest. “Mammon, oh little star, what did they do to you?” Michael asked softly almost fearing the answer. Mammon just began to sob uncontrollably. Morax covered her mouth at his cry as Mammon just let go in the arms of his big brother. Michael wrapped him up in his arms again, bringing out his wings to wrap around him for good measure, as he gently lowered them both to floor to make it more comfortable. Michael rocked him softly. “Remember when you were a fledgling, you would chase the butterflies in father’s garden, your little face was cover in dirt because you kept falling over as you were jumping to try and get them, and landing in the flower beds.” Michael spoke softly. “Or when you first saw the night sky in the human world, you declared it the most beautiful because it was sparkling. Oh, Father was so jealous you loved that sky more than the day.” Michael continued with the small stories of Mammon’s childhood, as it caused Mammon to relax, his cries coming to a stop. Eventually Michael removed his wings, but Mammon was still held close to him. “Everyone still loves you. I still love you so much, baby brother. I should have never let Lucifer even lay his eyes on you.” Michael said, placing a hand on Mammon’s cheek to wipe away the last of his tears. “I am sorry. I was meant to protect you, and I failed you so gravely.”“Not ya fault.” Mammon mumbled; Michael kissed his forehead.“Just like it is not yours, brother. I still say you are father’s favourite.” Michael added, causing Mammon to giggle a little. Michael pulled out a hankie, and immediately began to mother mammon into blowing his nose, despite the complaints he was grown and could do it himself. Mammon grumbled as his parents chuckled as he eventually complied.“I think we all need some refreshments after that. Lemuel make sure to bring Mammon some water first, he needs to rehydrate after that.” Morax said, Lemuel bowed, and Paimon joined him in collecting refreshments. Mammon was helped on to the spare sofa, where Cara had taken a seat, she placed a hand on his, looking worried.“I’m okay.” He promised, but she didn’t look convinced.“We will need to cover that reaction Mams but let’s save that for another day.” Michael smiled. “I believe I don’t need to introduce the others.” He motioned to two other angels. Mammon’s eyes widened and he grinned.“Simeon! Raphael!” He said, the angels chuckled.“It is good to see you again Mammon.” Simeon smiled softly, Raphael – never one for words – nodded in agreement.“Cara, this is Michael, Simeon and Raphael. I have told ya about Michael, but Simeon was the best storyteller in the Celestial realm, and Raphael was the youngest angel to ever get the Seraphim rank!” Mammon introduced her. “Michael, Simeon, Raphael, this is Cara, she is one of the first best friends I made.” Mammon told them proudly.“It’s a pleasure to meet you, thank you for being there for him.” Michael smiled.“It’s been a pleasure getting to know him.” Cara added with a smile. Michael nodded at her, seemingly pleased with her reply.“So, we should truly get down to business.” Morax said, handing Berith’s core to Mammon, who happily set it on his lap. Paimon and Lemuel returned, and began setting out tea, Paimon passed Mammon a glass of water that he happily drained quickly, before politely asking for more, Paimon smiled and poured him some more from a jug. “To cover it first, Paimon as the last of the Fae, what can you tell us about the spells used.“I can only identify one of the spells used, your majesty. It was an ancient one originally created by the Fae when it came to their dealings with humans and their souls. It was often a game to us; the Reapers were less then pleased but as the deal was made by the humans in the first place nothing could be done against us.” Paimon explained softly, as he handed a cup of tea to Mammon and Cara, Mammon looked at him surprised. “It is likely it was paired with another spell to hide it from the soul collecting beings, as a reaper would have tried to retrieve the soul if the body had been killed without a cover up. They always showed up seconds after the spell was cast – never happy mind.”“They likely did it as a way to control the Flame ring, only not expecting violence to be the immediate reaction.” Mammon said, the Celestial guests nodded in agreement.“That seems to be the case. But we already know what you wish to ask, and our father has agreed that it is only right for us to do so… and also believes that Berith deserves the right to have the pleasure of having Mammon help raise him.” Michael smiled. Mammon blushed and sipped his tea before looking confused.“Wait, what?” Mammon asked.“You are still the favourite amongst the angels who used to follow you around as fledglings. Once you fell, they almost revolted, demanding that Father forgive you – and you alone mind.” Gabriel laughed heartily. “Michael won that bet, and that is when the truth of your soul was made known to the Celestial realm, only then did they stop. They were close to rioting again upon hearing how you have been treated.“The whole Celestial Realm was going to revolt.” Raphael rolled his eyes. “Everyone knows Lucifer had promised to always treat you as if you were initially made for him as a brother – and he lied, as an Angel – so you can imagine how the others took it.”“Is that a huge deal?” Cara asked confused.“The Celestial realm has something known as the Celestial Oath.” Mammon immediately replied, “It means that if one was to lie under that oath they will essentially be cursed. The curse is different depending on the person and the lie told, their position and what was promised. When abuse is involved… and considering Lucifer’s previous position… and then taking into account he has fallen…” Mammon frowned, thinking, before grinning. “He won’t be able to find anything to bring him happiness again, will he?” He looked at Gabriel, who laughed.“Yes, and considering he is now a Sin, he will never find that thing to help ease it, neither will the others, who Father felt needed to be punished in a similar manor.”“Did it affect me?” Mammon asked, curiously.“No, if anything Father blessed you, hoping that in the Devildom you would find true happiness… why, what has your time here been like?” Gabriel looked concerned.“I had the urge to steal…” Mammon bowed his head ashamed, “I assumed my sin was out of control, I felt like I needed everything, even if not mine, if I tried to repress it, it was like knives digging into me.”“I can at least explain part of that. But how it started… did they ever stop you from following your desires?” Morax asked, Mammon nodded. “That would have triggered what is – or was a common illness amongst Dragons called Midis Avarice, Haagenti had brought up his concerns and has made sure to make sure that the medicine was included with your meals, I did advise that he only tell you if he felt you would be okay with the knowledge, I did not want to cause you further harm.” Morax said.“So… it was related to an illness… why didn’t anyone else figure it out?” Mammon frowned.“I asked that myself.” Morax agreed. “The prince should have been made aware of the symptoms and knowledge of the medicine for it. I was confused on why it had not been caught already. I had assumed maybe your brothers had the similar illness that matches their sin, but if the Celestial father had cursed them – it could also just be that. Especially if they were allowed to indulge in their sin when you were not.”“They could indulge in theirs alright.” Mammon scowled. “Lucifer is just a prideful prick, as ya have seen, Levi was envious of everything and everyone – as ya have seen, Satan would lose his shit at the drop of a hat – as ya have seen. Asmo was always going out to nightclubs and all that, Beel would usually eat everything in the house and Belphie was sleeping as much as he could, and no one would stop him.” Mammon sighed. “Only I was restricted from indulging in Greed.”“Which triggered the illness, but you are recovering very well.” Morax smiled.“I want to make sure ya ain’t suffering from Mortiferum Superbia.” Astaroth said. “Ya ain’t the sin of pride but ya are half Pheonix, they use peacocks as the symbol of pride, but Phoenixes are Pride itself, so ya are both Greed and Pride.” He explained.“Never had issues with Pride… as much as they hurt me…. I took pride in my baby brothers…” Mammon bowed his head.“You are an amazing big brother, it’s not your fault they turned out like Lucifer.” Cara rested her hand on Mammon’s.“Well, I now take pride in others like me. My people.” Mammon smiled at Cara. “I’ve never been restricted in my pride.”“That’s a relief at least.” Morax sighed.“And your pride in raising younger siblings will be helpful when it comes to Berith.” Gabriel smiled. “It is simply a question of when would you like us to get this done for you.”“How soon?” Mammon asked, looking to Gabriel, not seeing how proud his parents appeared at him taking charge.“Well, if you wish, we could go now.” Gabriel smiled. “Father said that we should follow your orders when you are ready.”“Then today.” Mammon nodded, holing the core close. He blushed a little as he glanced to Michael. “Could Cara come with me? Going to the Celestial realm is a bit anxiety inducing for me.”“I see no issues with that. We hope to build a strong friendship between the Celestial realm and Flame ring.” Gabriel smiled. “We hope that in future you may visit more.” Mammon blushed happily. “Shall we get going now then?” Mammon stood, holding Berith’s core.“Yeah, let’s go.” He agreed.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Author's Note: Mammon gets to speak to his Father. And Mammon gets to learn a little more about his special situation
Mammon, whilst completely aware that the angels apparently did not hold what happened against him, he couldn’t help but feel nervous about returning. Cara held one of his hands, as they climbed the steps to the Celestial Realm. Michael and the others had gone ahead to let everyone else know the choice of when the soul would be reborn.“Welcome to the Celestial Realm!” an Angel greeted happily.“Camael?” Mammon asked.“The one and only! Mams, I missed you so much!” Camael hugged him, surprising Mammon, but he patted him on the back. “Seriously though, you won’t believe how boring this place is now.” Camael pouted.“Ya shouldn’t speak like that, its only boring if ya let it be,” Mammon told him. “I am pretty sure I taught ya to follow ya heart, if you wanna go and play in a field just go, ya can catch up on work later.”“You always give the best advice brother!” Another ran over with a wide smiled.“Haniel!” Mammon laughed as he caught her. “How have ya been?” He asked.“Great! I am teaching fledglings, just like you taught me.” She smiled. “But I feel sad they won’t get to know your teaching style.”“What was your teaching style?” Cara asked curiously.“I was less into the book stuff and more doing, what’s the point in learning stuff if ya ain’t gonna use it.” Mammon said. “And what’s the point of learning stuff ya don’t like, won’t it be more fun to focus on what ya like. A master of all is a master of none after all.” Mammon said.“I never thought of it that way.” Cara hummed lightly.“Yeah, brother Mammon has a brilliant mind, just Lucifer never noticed it was special. He was always dumb like that!” Camael grumbled, Cara tried to hide a giggle as Mammon gasped.“Camael don’t…” Mammon began.“He’s not here brother.” Michael approached the group. “Believe me they have said worse about him.” He eyed the two who just smiled sweetly. “Father is waiting for you both, are you ready?” He asked softly, turning his attention to Mammon. Mammon looked down at Berith’s core and nodded.“Yes, I’m ready.” Mammon nodded, Cara happily followed after Mammon and Michael, she first turned to the other two.“I need to know more later.” She whispered.“We got you girl.” Haniel grinned. “Speak to you later.” They waved them off. Camael turned to Haniel.“Do you think they look cute together?” Camael whispered.“Oh totally. Let’s tell the others we saw Mammon!” Haniel grinned and they both took off.~*~*~*~Cara held Mammon’s hand as they stood before the Celestial Gardens. Michael stood beside the doors, not wanting to rush Mammon before he was ready. Mammon took a deep breath and squeezed Cara’s hand.“Okay, I’m ready.” Mammon said, Michael nodded and opened the door.“Father, we’ve arrived.” Michael announced as they entered. Mammon held Cara’s hand tightly. The Celestial father walked down the marble path from further within the Garden. He smiled softly at seeing them, his golden eyes tearing slightly at seeing the son he loved dearly again.“Welcome, it is good too see you again Mammon. You have grown so well.” The Celestial Father greeted.“Ya too Celestial Father.” Mammon blushed lightly, keeping Berith’s soul close to his chest. Father notice and smiled in understanding“That must be Berith.” Father said, he held out his hand. “May I?”“Oh, yea. They trapped him in something.” Mammon handed the core to his celestial father. He took the core carefully and looked it over.“Ah, I see. Clever. This is made from Celestial Steel and magic from the Devildom. It prevents anyone sensing the soul, so the reapers wouldn’t be able to sense it and collect it. Not even Azreal would be able too, they thought of all options.” Celestial Father explained, with a small frown as he investigated closely. “But I can open it. Come, I have already prepared him a body, based of his original appearance. I will start unlocking it as we go.” Celestial Father beckoned and led the group further into the garden as he began to work on the device trapping Berith.Mammon sat before the toddler sized body of Berith as Father worked on freeing the core from the device and placing the soul within the body. It looked just like him, Mammon reached out to pet his head, smiling softly – knowing shortly he would be able to interact with his brother for real.“It will take some time for the body to adjust, but much like you, as he grows what he had in his first life will return, including his other form. But knowing what I know now, I have been able to modify my methods, and he should gain them a lot sooner, being around you and your true parents.” Father explained.“Ya a true parent too…” Mammon replied softly, Cara immediately glanced at Michael, who nodded and they both left Mammon and the Celestial father alone. Mammon was silently grateful, he knew this conversation was going to be heavy. “Ya taught me a lot… and I wasn’t always grateful…” Mammon frowned.“You were one-of-a-kind Mammon, unlike anyone else. I fear sometimes, I made a mistake in keeping you here. That I should have returned you to your family immediately. But with the unrest of the war, I thought, that maybe by helping you grow you would be better prepared.” Father looked at him, Mammon looked up to face him. “But you face many more hardships than I ever wanted you to face, outside of my range of help… I know, you have told no one… but I watched you son…” Mammon frowned as he saw his father tearing up at the memories, “I saw, what they did, and I curse them. Every day. And even now, I will continue to curse them. Nothing will ever make up for what they have done, no punishment I can bestow and make them pay for those crimes… And I understand if you can never forgive me…”“It wasn’t ya fault… a wise Fae told me the fault lies with the Demons…” Mammon said. “And ya not a demon. Ya loved me, taught me many cool things I couldn’t share with them… but I can share now. And I will be happy.”“And that is all I ever wished for you son.” Father smiled softly, “Young Berith is certainly lucky to have you. Which reminds me, I shall be joining you home, there is something I need to ask your family. I can’t say yet… you have been through a lot, and I do fear how it will harm you.” Mammon looked at him confused, looking for any answers his expression would give away – but found nothing.“Okay, but how bad is it?” Mammon asked.“Well, I am more afraid of you trying to fight the other sins before you are truly stronger than Lucifer.” Father admitted.“Ya think I will be stronger than Lucifer?” Mammon asked surprised.“Of course, you will be. You are not just a sin, Mammon. You were born the sin of Greed and Pride, the first born of mixed beasts.” Father smiled, chuckling at the surprise on Mammon’s face. He had missed the forever expressive son, who wore his emotions like a badge of pride, both the good and bad. “You are like no one else, and you may rival myself in power. You are still very much a being of the Celestial realm too. You just need to find that old spark within you and reignite it.”“Oh… wow.” Mammon gasped is awe. “Are ya serious? I could still use Celestial magic, could I summon Caritativa misericordia again?” Mammon asked excitedly.“Yes, you never lost that ability, and I look forward to the day you do.” Father smiled. “I daresay when you do Raphael may want a rematch from that last fight.” He added with a laugh, Mammon blushed happily. He could hold Caritativa again!
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Author's Note: Back with another chapter, but also with the amount of comments asking if the demons are the same gods from genshin has pushed me to work on a Genshin Impact/Obey Me fic I have had in mind for a while now. So will be posting that soon. But I hope you all enjoy this chapter!
With the soul finally free from the device, Father carefully knelt beside the body and threaded the soul into the body. Mammon watched him work curiously, now Mammon had the pleasure of seeing his Father work many different miracles. However, the forming of an Angel, or the soul insertion was not one he had witness before.“How long will it take for him to wake?” Mammon asked, looking to his Father.“It can differ, it does depend on the soul. With Berith having been trapped within this so long, it may take longer than you.” Father explained, holding the device. “I shall keep this; I need to investigate it further due to its power against the natural order and the fact it breaks the long-held agreement between the four realms.”“How long did I take… and I thought there were only three realms, Celestial Realm, Human realm and Devildom.” Mammon asked.“You are forgetting the Spirit realm; it is one of its own.” Father laughed. “And you, dear one, took a mere second. You certainly get Michael the freight of his life when you suddenly burst into tears the moment your soul and Body became one.”“Michael was scared?” Mammon was giggling a little at the idea.“He jumped back, you certainly had a good pair of lungs. I had not expected that.” Father chuckled. “The bodies at this stage are imperfect. Especially when we are using an established soul, a soul that has not been cleared. Like yours. These bodies, adjust over time, growing with the soul until it is like your original body. You may not remember, but your hair used to be the same shade of silver as Michael’s, but very quickly it turned pure white. Your body may have never formed in that egg of yours, but your soul was much stronger than any I had seen.” Father smiled fondly at the memories. “And you may know white hair as pure white as yours does not appear in most things, yourself and Lord Astaroth are the ones who have it a natural hair colour.”“Oh, wow.” Mammon hummed lightly, before frowning. “Should ya be telling me all this secret soul-thingy stuff?” He asked.“Maybe, but you are a product of this soul-thingy stuff.” Father chuckled fondly. “I thought you may be interested to learn how it will work. Especially as you now have a new younger brother to look out for. He may not bond with the body as quickly as you as he did have a body previously, he will need sometime to get used to be corporal again, so I imagine running into doors and walls may be a common occurrence. Things you will need to help him learn again.”“Right. It would have been a super long time for him…” Mammon mumbled, not having thought about it. Berith had been a spirit longer than he had been alive; he would need to learn to be alive all over again. He began to make mental lists of things he would need to help him adjust, things he would need to discuss with staff and his parents. Would Berith benefit from having a steward at his age? How about a companion- Malius would be a good choice when he awoke, but something else he would need to discuss with his parents. He grumbled lightly to himself.“You have your mind in a muddle there, son. what bothers you about this?” Father asked.“So used to just raised my brothers as I see fit, ya know, but with Berith, we have parents now. I will need to speak to them first before making any decisions, so I can’t plan like I normally do.” Mammon admitted. “Its gonna take some getting used to.”“Maybe if you speak to them, they will understand and be happy for you to proceed as you wish.” Father smiled.“Maybe.” Mammon nodded. “Ah, right, I have started to remember stuff, from when I was in the egg, before my life here…” Mammon told him. “It wasn’t… all nice.”“I imagined not. You were brought into the world at a dangerous time, your existence against two races that hated each other, proof that love between them possible.” Father nodded. “But you are doing well. Don’t let those Darker memories prevent you from living well in the future.”“I won’t!” Mammon promised, his attention suddenly turning to Berith who eyes had opened, blinking a few times, and raised his hands to look at them, flexing the fingers experimentally. “Berith?” Mammon asked gently. Berith looked up, seeing Mammon caused him to tear up. He tried to move, but he had not been able to get them to work, causing him to fall forward, but Mammon caught him and held him tightly as Berith cried. Father watched with a kind smile.“I shall give you time alone. I shall be with Michael and that friend of yours.” Father told him, getting up and leaving the brothers in peace. Mammon nuzzled the top of Berith’s head, his draconic features appearing in place, his tail instinctively wrapped around his brother.“Ya good?” Mammon asked as Berith’s crying had stopped, and he was just sniffed lightly. He shifted so her could see Berith’s face.“Yea…” Berith nodded. “I’m back.” He spoke softly.“Ya back.” Mammon laughed happily, resting his forehead against his brothers, causing Berith to look up at him, blue and gold eyes meet gold and blue. “Welcome back, baby brother.” Berith’s face lit up happily.“Love ya.” Berith nuzzled him happily, small features appearing on his body. Small feather tuffs on his head with small horns, and a little scaled tail wagging back and forth. Berith gasped happily and glanced back at his tail. “Its small!” he said surprised.“This is a whole new body for ya, my Celestial Father says it can take a bit for ya to adjust to this new body and all, ya will be back to normal it will just atek time. Ya gotta learn everything again.” Mammon told him. “Do ya think ya can walk?” Berith frowned and looked down at his legs.“I can wiggle my toes, but my legs feel super heavy.” Berith admitted.“Ah well, seems like I am just gonna need to carry ya!” Mammon sighed dramatically, standing up with ease, still holding Berith and moving him to his hip. “Ya as light as a feather.”“Na, ya just super strong!” Berith corrected him. “I sense ya big dragon form, ya were this big!” Berith held his arms wide. “One day I wanna be as big!” He said.“Ya will be, give it a bit of time, ‘kay?” Mammon grinned, Berith giggled, but he finally took in the garden around him, and the light from the sun that lit up the garden.“Mammon, where are we?” Berith asked.“The Celestial Gardens.” Mammon replied, “In the Celestial Realm. I was raised in here, before Lucifer and all. All my time was spent in here, learning from the Celestial Father. He heard about what was going on. And he wanted to help ya. So, like he did with me, he made ya this body.”“Oh, that was super nice….” Berith mumbled lightly. “Can I thank him, for helping?”“Sure, he is with my brother Michael, and Cara. Ya know Cara.” Mammon said.“The nice phoenix who was with ya.” Berith nodded. “Can I meet ya big brother too?”“Sure, lets go.” Mammon smiled and headed to the entrance. Thankful that Father hadn’t changed the layout of the gardens since his angelic childhood. At the entrance, Michael and the Celestial father were discussing something with Cara. They all turned towards the duo as they approached, Cara immediately curtsied.“I greet the blessed sun of the Flame Ring. Many happy returns.” Cara smiled softly.“I remember ya. Thanks for being there for my big brotha.” Berith mumbled shyly. Cara smiled softly.“Of course, I hope we get time to know each other too.” Cara nodded. Berith agreed happily, before he looked at Michael, who looked back at the child, glancing between him and Mammon.“You are like perfect inverted versions of each other.” Michael commented. “It is weird to see as the one who raised Mammon as a fledgling.” Michael said, Berith giggled, holding on to Mammon with a slight grip, not used to grasping just yet.“Ya Mams big brotha… can ya be my big brotha too?” Berith asked nervously.“It would be an honour.” Michael smiled. “I can tell you all the stories of when Mammon was a fledging here.”“No, not all of them!” Mammon blushed deeply, Berith looked at him curiously.“Na, all of them. I want all of them!” Berith said, Michael laughed.“We shall arrange a day to go over them. I know many angels have pictures; I will need to make a photo album of it all.” Michael said, Berith nodded excitedly. Mammon flushed deeply, knowing there was no way he was going to win this fight. “That being said, I do apologise it took us so long to get to you.”“Ya didn’t know. Demons are nuts.” Berith said, causing Michael to laugh.“You sound exactly like Mammon.” Michael grinned, clearly bursting with pride. Mammon did feel a sense of pride at his words.“Do you plan on staying a while long? Or would you be heading back home?” Father asked.“Home. Ma and Pa may be a tad anxious if we stay longer.” Mammon smiled. “But we’ll be back for a proper visit later. If I can still use my angelic abilities, I am gonna need some help using them again. May relearn them.”“Our doors will always be open to you Mammon,” Father chuckled. “I daresay a brother of yours may already be planning a welcome-back celebration”“Azreal?” Mammon asked, Michael sighed.“For the angel of death, he was certainly the most excited with the idea.” Michael said.“Sounds like him.” Mammon grinned, glad to hear he hadn’t changed much. He looked to his father. “Ya will be coming to discuss something with Ma and Pa, right?”“I will be, yes.” Father nodded.“Cool, ya ready to go Cara?” Mammon looked at her.“Certainly, but, Celestial Father, would I be permitted to visit again, even if alone. I am fascinated in the garden and would like to arrange something like this within the Flame Ring.” Cara questioned.“Of course, I shall personally introduce you to Ariel. They care all flowers here, they will a better help then I who just sits admiring them.” Father smiled. Cara blushed nodded.“Thank you.” Cara bowed her head to him.“How about ya, Berith. Ready to go home?” Mammon asked him, Berith nodded.“Let’s go home.” Berith said. Mammon nuzzled him lightly, as they began to descend the stairs back to the Flame ring. Michael stood at the top, biding them farewell

Author's note: A few chapters for you all, I hope you enjoy!
Morax and Astaroth were anxiously waiting for their son to return with his baby brother in tow. Morax was sitting, holding a cup of tea made from Golden Vein Leaves to help calm her nerves. Astaroth had taken to pacing, his tail feathers out and swaying back and forth. They both stopped the moment the gates to the Celestial Realm appeared once more, Mammon stepped through with Berith on his him. Morax dropped her cup immediately to embrace her sons, crying as she kissed their cheeks. Astaroth held them all together, tears in his eyes as Berith was nuzzling his mother, crying heavily. Mammon stood with a small smile, glancing back to the Celestial Father with a thankful expression, who was watching the scene with a joy of his own. Astaroth was the first of the parents to notice he was there.“Ya must be the Celestial Father.” Astaroth said, Morax sniffed lightly.“Sorry.” She began“Don’t be, this is a very special time for your family. It is a blessing to witness. I should be the one apologising for this sudden visit. But you are the only race I can trust or can even help me with the situation I have found.” Father said, Morax watched him curiously, before nodding.“Let’s sit, I can tell this is going to be a heavy talk.” Morax said.Soon the family were seated, Berith settled on his mother’s lap, as Mammon was watching his Father curiously.“So, what’s the reason for this visit?” Astaroth asked.“It is actually, this.” Father carefully held up a soul, Morax immediately frowned as she saw it.“That is a severally damaged soul.” Morax said. “What happened to them?”“That is where you must also know… This is Lilith.” Father said/ “Diavolo reincarnated her before she was truly dead, and proceeded to do so incorrectly, further causing damage. Whilst she lived a good life as a human, we couldn’t sense her due to the damage, and she could never find her way back to the garden, thus she found her way back to her family.” Father frowned, tears appearing in his eyes, he couldn’t look at Mammon, “She witness everything you were forced to live through, Mammon. And what remained of her remaining virtue vanished. Even as she is now, she holds such a rage to them, more then my own. She is the one who told me you were wrongly imprisoned by Diavolo.”“Lili said I had to tell Ma and Pa and she would let ya know.” Berith said, Father looked at him.“You did an amazing job keeping her company, little one.” Father nodded proudly. “Your remaining soul was likely the tether keeping her soul loosing to the darkness and becoming a shadow.”“Diavolo did what to my sister?” Mammon snarled, standing quickly, his Pa grabbed his arm to stop him from acting rash, understanding the feeling within his son, the wish to destroy the one who had basically killed his sister to reincarnate her.“How can we help?” Morax asked, calmly, containing her own rage.“I spoke to the Celestial realm, as a whole, about this matter. They agreed, Lilith has paid for her sin tenfold, and she honestly deserves to live under Mammon’s ever love-filled watch. But, with how her soul is…” Father frowned.“A normal reincarnation is no longer a viable option as it is considered incomplete.” Morax nodded in understanding, glancing to her first born who was still growling. Father silently held the soul to Mammon, who immediately took it, holding it to his chest, his three major pairs of wings and his tail appeared and wrapped around himself and the soul in a protective cocoon. Morax and Astaroth were silent as they shared a looked towards each other. They both understood the reason he had come to them, and true to the Celestial Father’s word, they were the only races who could potentially be able to help.“Lemuel, please take Berith and Mammon to the nest. Cara, please go with them, I feel Mammon will be more relaxed if you were there, it will be a new place for him.” Morax said, passing her youngest to her Steward, Astaroth gave Paimon a nodded to go with them, the conversation ahead needed to between them and the Father alone. Mammon, seemingly sensing Berith was being moved, glanced from his cocoon and hurried after them, as he held Lilith close, but his eyes not leaving his baby brother. The door closed behind them.“The nest will hold stabilised Lilith’s soul with the fact Mammon is there too.” Astaroth said. “We know what ya wish to ask, Celestial Father.”“But we have some questions for you.” Morax added.“I expected nothing less.” Father nodded.~*~*~*~Berith happily settled into the nest, giggling as Mammon seemed to instinctively change form, his forearms held Lilith’s soul, but his middle arms took hold of his brother and cuddled him close. Berith peeked out of Mammon’s wings at Lemuel and Paimon.“Can – ah – can we have snacks?” He asked.“I shall fetch your favourites, and your brother’s.” Lemuel bowed, leaving Paimon to watch over the boys as Cara stood by nervously. Mammon grumbled lightly, his head also peeking out of his wings, above Berith’s. Cara covered her mouth, trying not to laugh, he huffed at her, his tail trying to reach for her.“I think the Prince wishes for you to join them.” Paimon told her.“But, this is the royal nest!” Cara said, looking at him.“I know, I know this is something her Majesty likely expected. Mammon has learnt something… traumatic. You and the others were an amazing support in the Devildom, I imagine you support now is something he is naturally seeking.” Cara looked unsure, but even Berith was giggling.“It’s okay! We both want ya to join! Cuddle pile!” Berith cheered, Cara sighed with a small shake of her head.“Very well.” She sighed and surprised Mammon and Berith by changing into her own more phoenix like form, and settling beside them, Berith was beaming and began petting her tail feathers as Mammon happily wrapped his tail around one of her talons and relaxing a little. Paimon just smiled softly at the scene, knowing Mammon was going to be fine – and if the talk went well, they could have a young Princess joining their ranks
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“You know how the eggs of both Dragons and Pheonixs, and the hybrid eggs seem to work, Celestial Father.” Morax said, taking a sip of tea. “And yes, it could help repair Lilith’s soul. But it cannot do so completely. The damage of a forced re-incarnation before death as a slightly different damage. We can heal incorrect souls, and even emotionally tormented. But Lilith’s case, the damage of being reincarnated before death and the mix of emotional rage for what she has witness Mammon go through, that may need something more then what an egg provides to poor souls like that.”“I know. I have some angels looking into something further that can assist. With Lilith being human for a time, falling in love, even having children of her own. There is a chance of a Nephilim being born from her bloodline.” Father explained. “There are usually clear tell-tale signs of a Nephilim’s birth, but nothing has been experienced just yet. If one happens to be born, their magic may have the final repairing effect we need.”“If she is born as is, it won’t be something we can’t handle.” Astaroth said, he looked at his wife with a smile. “And if anything, simply being around Mammon could be healing in itself.”“I was thinking the same. She might find the peace of being away from them and being safe with Mammon and adjust well. It is more a concern on growth too.”“A dragon must go through their first Greed, and a Pheonix must go through their first Pride, and successfully achieve their desire, is that correct?” Father questioned.“Yes, Andromalius has just achieved theirs, by helping Mammon.” Morax nodded. “It will be a time to celebrate when they awaken. Lilith, depending on the form she takes, will experience one or the other, her desire may also depend on the sin she more closely represents. Maybe she will be just as greedy as her brother, which I imagine would be most adorable.”“Sounds like your minds are made up.” Father gave a small smile.“Our minds were made the moment you introduced her as Lilith. If we can bring her into a good home, with her dear brother. Why would we refuse. And I could sense the greed within her, the desire to make them pay, to ensure Mammon would get his hearts desires.” Morax smiled. “How could I refuse such a soul?”“And we believe it would be right; ya’d get to see her again too.” Astaroth added. “I can imagine the anger and finding out what she has experienced.” Father frowned.“Once they fell, I had hoped that maybe they would find being in the Devildom more freeing then in the Celestial Realm, Lilith was never meant to die.” Father frowned.“Well, much like Mammon… she will need her Father there for her when she is reborn.” Morax smiled softly, Father looked at her and shook his head.“I couldn’t intrude further into your family…” He began.“Ya family too now. Ya raised Mammon, ya raised him well. We owe ya a great debt – even if ya never meant for us to take it that way.” Astaroth smiled.“Its only right we help raise your daughter with the same great love you did for our Mammon.” Morax smiled. “But, as you should know, such a process is not something we can simply do immediately.”“I know, its why I hoping you could protect her soul here until the right time.” Father said.“We’ll take good care of her. We have that gift from the Reapers, if we happened to ever cross Mammon or Berith’s soul and it was not reborn, a Soul cradle. We can keep her within that, it will help stabilise her too. Whilst also keeping her close to Mammon.”~*~*~*~Morax covered her mouth when the three of them entered the nest, finding Mammon, Cara and Berith napping, Lilith’s soul had been cradled in a cell of golden rings, still held in Mammon’s forepaws. Lemuel and Paimon had taken a seat near by and were looking over some ball related paper work.“Seems likes they all needed that.” Astaroth chuckled, Father was watching with a smile on his face.“Does Mammon and Cara have that kind of relationship?” He asked curiously.“Maybe, they haven’t known each other too long in all honestly. It is possible. It wasn’t long after we met that we knew.” Morax smiled looking to Astaroth, who nodded in agreement.“We were destined to be one.” He agreed, nuzzling her head happily.“Lady Cara was nervous upon joining them. Prince Mammon was quite insistent, and Prince Berith really wished for her to join.” Paimon said. He nodded politely to Father. “It is good to see you again Celestial Father.”“Likewise, it is good to see you well, Paimon. How has life been treating you?”“As well as it could. I am happy, even if the rest of my race decided that Demons were better.” Paimon smiled. “At least one little one has seen the light for a long time.” He motioned over to Mammon’s head, where they all noticed a tiny Little D curled up upon Mammon’s head.“A little Demon?” Morax asked.“They are more akin to fairies.” Paimon explained. “Born when they fell. Another was brought along, they rest within the protective cage Mammon summon, I believe it was due to be born correctly when Lady Lilith fell, before that Prince broke every rule.” Paimon growled lightly.“They came in with some of the Crimson Wings, seems like they were both helping them with their research into the abuse.” Lemuel added.“What do you think will happen to them now Paimon?” Morax asked“Well, given time and the right help, they will grow into what their true form should be. Fairies and Fae, whilst sharing similarities are not the same, more like the Dragons and the Drake. The fae are more Drake, we don’t have wings, but we have a powerful ancient magic. Fairies share that magic, but are smaller, much smaller in size, like forever children. Their role within our society is to protect children. They seek out human children who need a hand or guidance in their lives, and protect them, guide them to be good people. That is who they will become in time.” Paimon smiled over at the little D upon Mammon’s head. “But, I will have much to teach them, will be nice not to be the last of free fae-kind.”“Well, let us know if you need help with anything Paimon, they will be a grand addition to our suddenly growing family.” Morax smiled. “For now, lets leave them all to rest. I would like your opinions on some of our plans for Mammon’s ball.” She looked to the Celestial Father.“I will be glad to hear them.” Everyone left the three of them to rest within the nest, Mammon ‘s form shifting slightly, whilst his primary three sets of wings were curled around his body, the three larger set extended to cover the rest of the nest in a blanket of scales and Feathers.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Mammon was the first to wake from the nest, he didn’t move at first, checking the others, watching them sleep silently. But as he raised his head, he noticed the little demon that had begun to wake from the movement. Mammon remembered the Little one, out of all of the little demons to be born alongside himself and the others, the one bound to him was the one who kept leaving the castle to seek him out. Something he knew got them into a lot of trouble with Barbatos. But he had always hated how the little demons were treated – and named.“Axis.” He said softly, as the little demon finally took notice he was away.“Mammon…” Axis teared up and cuddled into his snout. Mammon carefully was able to return to his more human form, careful not to wake the others as Mammon took Axis in his hands.“I’m okay. They didn’t hurt ya, did they?” Mammon asked softly, Axis shook his head. Mammon was relieved. Axis was the only little demon who had been given a name, and Barbatos had given a small scolding when he found out Mammon had named him – something how they were Diavolo’s familiars, so it became a secret between them both.“I’m okay! I got Mystery out too.” Axis pointed to another little demon fast asleep on the haloed caged that protected Lilith’s soul.“Mystery, I’ve never met that lil D before…” Mammon said.“She always hides… she is hurt, not right. Something bad happened to the soul she was born too.” Axis explained. “Not even Diavolo saw her around, nor Barbatos, so I called her Mystery.”“It’s a good name; did she like it?”“I don’t know, she doesn’t speak. But she found me every time they hurt ya… so, she knows more then she can say.” Axis explained. “So, I brought her with me when the Crimson wings were leaving. And Paimon is here, we’re fairie really, so its gonna be nice to be around him.”“Right, Diavolo mentioned ya guys are born from that tree that existed before the devildom was established.” Mammon recalled; it was a very long time ago. “So, guess this aint gonna be ya real form.” Mammon tapped Axis’ head, as he nodded.“But I don’t know how it works, so he can help!” Axis frowned a little. “They don’t know I have a name… I didn’t want ya to get in trouble for it again.”“That won’t happen. They super nice here.” Mammon grinned. “Ya know Berith and Cara then, right?” glancing at the other two, Berith was cuddled up under Cara’s wings.“Yeah, he’s ya new mini-me!” Axis grinned. “I love him! And Cara is cool, so are the others!”“I know right.” Mammon grinned, “Lets leave them to rest a while longer, I need to speak to Ma and Pa about something.”“Okay!” Axis nodded, making themselves comfortable on Mammon’s shoulder as he made sure the others were still asleep, Lilith’s soul being hugged by Berith as he closed the door.“Young Prince, it is good to see you awake.” Mammon almost jumped as Paimon greeted him as he was heading towards the nest room.“Heya Paimon, hope inviting Cara in didn’t cause much trouble with Ma and Pa.” Mammon apologised.“Don’t worry, they understood the situation without explanation. And it seems the young fairie is awake too.” Paimon looked at Axis, who glanced at him nervously.“Yeah, Axis was a great help back in the Devildom, whenever he could escape the Palace.” Mammon smiled.“I am glad, and it good to see at least two lil Fairie outside the belief of following demons, I never got to greet you well before. But it is a pleasure to meet you axis.” Paimon smiled. Axis blushed and hid behind Mammon, who chuckled.“Doncha go acting all shy now.” Mammon teased, before his stomach growled and he blushed.“Food time?” Berith mumbled, peeking out from under Cara’s wing, hair ruffled in every direction, as Cara also woke, yawning with a small coo.“Yeah, food time. Ya two coming?” He asked, Beirth happily crawled from the nest and tried standing, his leg handled his weight well, but he clung to Mammon’s leg so he wouldn’t fall when he was walking.“Then I shall take you both to the dining room, give Lady Cara some time to freshen up before joining you.” Paimon said. Cara nodded in thanks, as the boys followed him out, Mammon giving her a small smile and wave before the door closed.Once alone Cara let her form fall, her dress a little crumpled from the the night, it was rare she ever slept in her phoenix form.“Ah, Cara dear, I had heard from Lemuel you were up.” Morax entered the room. “Lets get you a different dress shall we? Would you like a bath or shower this morning at all?”“Ah a shower would be lovely.” Cara smiled. “I hope sleeping in the nest wasn’t a problem.”“Not at all. You are a good friend to Mammon, what her had heard… I am thankful he is more silent anger then a destructive one.” Morax smiled. “He needed your comfort, I should be thanking you for being there for my son. You are a blessing to our family too, as are the others.” Morax smiled. “Come, I daresay the boys will be expecting you shortly.” She held out her hand, Cara accepted it and happily followed her Queen.“Lady Cara is very nice, ain’t she?” Berith asked as he walked, holding Mammon’s hand, getting used to his legs again.“Yeah she is, she is a great friend.” Mammon nodded in agreement, a small blush on his face. “I gotta properly introduce ya to the rest of my friends, and Malius, the two of ya can be living friends now.” Mammon grinned.“Yeah! I can’t wait! Think he could be my companion? Mama hadn’t decided on one before ya know.” Berith said.“I’ll speak to them about it. I think it’s a good choice.” Mammon grinned.“Thanks!” Berith beamed happily, he liked having an older brother.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Mammon found himself enjoying breakfast with Berith and Cara, Berith was having a simple breakfast with easy to digest foods as he was getting used to being able to eat again. Whilst their parents couldn’t join them that day, Mammon was already looking forward to future meals they would finally have together as a family. But his mind quickly wandered to Lilith, and her soul they now had – and had to protect. Mammon hadn’t noticed Cara and Berith watching him in concern.“Ya worried about Lilith, ain’t ya?” Berith asked, Mammon looked up at them, before nodding.“We have her soul, safe and sound. So, what worries you?” Cara asked softly.“Well, Lilith meant a lot to me. I fell to the Devildom for her.” Mammon said, looking at his food. “Everything Fathe told us – makes me wish we fell to the human realm instead. Clearly Diavolo was never someone we could trust.”“Do you think we’d be able to help her soul? Your Father sounded sure your parents could help.”“Maybe? I know less about our kind then most, so I’m not sure. It’s something I want to ask Ma and Pa later.” Mammon replied.“It’s something about Dragon and Pheonix eggs.” Berith said. “Mama and Papa wouldn’t tell me anything cause I am too young, its for mature beasts only.”“Sounds like I should speak to them as soon as possible.” Mammon said.“Then, how about after breakfast? If you are fine playing with just me, Prince Berith?” Cara offered.“I’ll play with Cara so you can speak to Mama and Papa!” Berith smiled.“Thank ya Cara.” Mammon smiled at her.“Always a pleasure to help.” Cara blushed. After Breakfast, Cara took Berith to play in the garden, whilst Paimon led him to his parents’ study.“Your majesties, Prince Mammon is here to speak to you.” Paimon knocked on the door as Mammon tugged at is sleeves nervously.“Please come in.” Morax called, Paimon opened the door stepped aside for Mammon to enter.“Ma, Pa.” Mammon greeted as he stepped into the study.“Mammon, my darling.” Morax rose from her desk and embraced her oldest child, she pulled back and rested a hand on his cheek. “How are you feeling my love?”“I’m okay. Sorry if Cara being in the nest was against rules or somethin’.” Mammon apologised softly.“Ya heard news that would become enraged and violent. We half expected ya to rampage, and we would have completely understood.” Astaroth chuckled, patting his back. “Ya needed to make sure ya people were safe.”Mammon frowned lightly, unsure how to bring up his feelings. The information his father had shared was – hard to take at best. He had a lot of complicated emotions about it, but unsure how to voice them. “I dunno where to start.” He admitted. Axis patted his neck in comfort.“It is a delicate situation. Why don’t we sit, we have no limit on time to discuss this thoroughly.” Morax smiled, kissing his cheek. “Lemuel, can you prepare us some Golden Vein Tea and snacks, I fear we may be discussing this a while.” Lemuel bowed and went to get the refreshments. Mammon took a seat across from his parents, hands clasped together as he leant on his knees. He waited for the tea to arrive and be poured before speaking.“Lilith, she loved me more than the others in the Celestial Realm. It wasn’t obvious on the outside, so others would not have noticed. But compared to the others – she only ever had nice words to say about me. We fell for her – I would have destroyed the three realms to protect her. Her death – no, I guess her murder was like losing a light in my life.” Mammon said, he wanted them to know just what Lilith had – what her memory still meant to him.“She sounds amazing. A truly good sister.” Morax smiled softly. “Losing her, with the first news of it, was it like someone took a sword…”“And impaled my heart to then rip it out?” Mammon finished, Morax frowned with a nod. “The pain lasted for a year.”“She – you had considered her true family, unlike the brothers at the end. That sensation is what it feels like for a dragon to lose a core member of their family hoard.” Morax explained.“If Diavolo didn’t reincarnate her, Lilith would have lived, wouldn’t she?” Mammon asked, his parents were quiet for a moment.“Yes, she would have lived.” Astaroth Confirmed, Mammon looked down at his hands as they trembled as he fought to keep his anger down.“Mammon?” Axis looked at him worried.“It makes sense. Mystery is Lilith’s lil D, like ya mine.” Mammon looked at Axis. “Explains how she found ya when I was hurt. Still taking care of me when she ain’t alive, typical.” He gave a soft sigh with a smile. “She was meant to be with us. Diavolo’s family has killed two of my siblings.” He sighed “Kinda wanna burn the Devildom down to be honest”“I know the feeling. As I said, ya not being as destructive as we expected.” Astaroth said.“Being destructive ain’t gonna help Lili.” Mammon looked at his parents. “Her soul is damaged – but from how Father was speaking last night, there’s a way ya can help right?”“Yes, there is. However, this method may take some time.” Morax admitted.“Berith mentioned its about the Dragon and Pheonix eggs.” Mammon said.“Yes. Not sure where Berith heard that, but he is correct.” Morax nodded. “You are old enough to hear this information if you find yourself someone to settle with in the future.”“It is also connected to why Beast souls are so unique.” Astaroth added, “And this also goes for any beasts of Sin that lay eggs.”“The soul forms in the egg first, right?”“Correct. But only some eggs form new souls. Upon being laid the eggs are empty, no life within. So, during the time before soul forms, a lost soul can find itself a home within. It will then further develop within the egg to change the soul’s basis to that of a beasts soul – upon hatching such souls have a unique mutations that reflect that previous life.” Morax explained. “This is why your father came to us-.”“Lili will be my sister again?” Mammon asked, clearly excited about the news.“Yes, if ya and Berith are happy to have a baby sister around.” Astaroth smiled.“Ah, right. I also wanted to ask ya both something about Berith-.” Mammon said, his parents looked a little surprised.~*~*~*~Astaroth held back his laughter until Mammon had left before turning to his wife.“The Celestial Father did warn us.” He grinned.“From all that, it sounds like Lucifer took no part in helping him raise the others. Do you think we should leave Berith, and later Lilith under his complete care. Like the deciding of the compainion and such?” Morax asked.“I know it would give them a much better start.” Astaroth nodded “Think of all the angels he has helped raise. He has more experience raising children than his own parents.” He added with a chuckle.“Then, lets get Paimon and Lemuel to start making those arrangements.“Of course, My Flame.”
