A red bat will fall from the sky. He will have power that he will not understand. With this power he will be the Avatars strongest Ally, or the Avatars greatest enemy.
~ Ancient Prophecy.
The Dark Trinity's secret Headquarters.
Jason looked at the devastation.
Bizarro ripped a cable out of the floor.
"We were thinking less damage, not more damage big guy." Jason said.
"What are you doing Bizarro?!" Artemis demanded.
"Me told you." Bizarro said. "Me would go anywhere, anytime. Me meant it." Bizarro opened the Quantum doorway and flew through.
"NNOOO!" Jason and Artemis yelled.
An explosion knocked Jason and Artemis to the floor.
"We have to go after him!" Jason yelled.
"No." Artemis said. "We don't."
"What do you mean?"
"Not
we.
I will go after him."
"Someday.
Someday you will understand how much I owe you..."
"Artemis! Don't do this!"
"...the mistakes I've made..."
"It doesn't matter what you think you did,
we can..."
"How much you suffered because of me."
"No..."
Artemis kissed Jason.
"Finally." Jason said. "What did you think Princess?"
"You were okay...for a boy."
An explosion knocked Artemis through the Quantum doorway
and
sent Jason through another doorway.
There was a flash of light, and Jason was overcome with blackness.
Lin Beifong had been serving the Republic City Police department for a while.
Serving in such a capacity had allowed her to remain un-phased to most things that would catch others off guard.
She was not expecting to see a doorway open, and a being fall through the doorway.
Lin ran outside her airship and jumped off before she shot her grapple at the being.
Her grapple caught the being, and she shot her other grapple at the airship.
Her grapple caught the airship and the two were hanging in midair.
Lin retracted her grapple and pulled the man towards her and began pulling herself to the airship.
One on the top of the airship she looked at the man. He wore a helmet that was shattered. With a brown coat, a dark grey long-sleeved shirt with a red bat in the center of his chest. He wore a pair of black pants with multiple pockets, and black boots. The most disturbing thing about the man was that he had weapons that should not exist.
"Chief." A detective said. "Who is this man?"
"I don't know. Take him to interrogation."
"Yes ma'am."
Jason came into focus slowly. "Where... am I?" He asked.
"You're in Republic City." An older woman said.
Jason bolted upright but was pulled back down by restraints.
He looked behind him and saw that he was restrained to a chair. "Where am I?"
"Republic City Police Department."
"What's Republic City? Where's Artemis and Bizarro? Who are you?"
"Republic City is the capital, I don't know who this Artemis and Bizarro are, and I am Chief of police Lin Beifong."
"Why am I in jail?"
"You aren't. I had you brought here because you fell from the sky, and I want answers."
"I want answers too."
"Then how about this. I'll ask a question then you ask a question."
"Fine."
"First Question. Who are you?"
"I'm the Red Hood. Now what the hell is Republic City?"
"It is the Capital of our world. Now. Where are you from?"
"Gotham City of the planet earth." Jason began feeling weird. "Why do I feel weird?"
"Is that really your question?"
"No. I mean maybe, but I feel weird. Like really weird."
"Can you describe it?"
"I don't know. Maybe. I guess it feels like being connected to something. That's the best way I can describe it."
"It would appear that your Bending element is unlocking. It's fascinating that you have an element at all."
"No. I don't want a Bending element."
"It would appear that you don't have a choice."
"No! Stop it! Make it stop!"
"It's not like I really know how to stop..."
The walls caved in and shattered into tiny sand like molecules and surrounded Jason.
"Get this away from me!"
"I'm not doing this! Calm down."
"I'll calm down when I'm not surrounded by whatever the hell this shit is!"
Lin didn't know what to do. She tried to take a step forward, but the sand lunged at her. "Red Hood! Calm down. The metal is protecting you. More accurately you are protecting yourself."
"What?"
"Yes. You are creating a protective shield with the metal. Congratulations, you're an earth..."
A gout of black fire erupted out of the metal.
"You-you're a fire Bender and earth Bender?"
"What the hell! Black fire! What did you do to me?"
"You are the one doing this."
"Then how do I stop?"
"You have to relax. Calm down."
Jason calmed down and the metal sand stopped moving.
Lin took control of the metal and reformed the walls. She looked at the table and saw her coffee cup was on the table... shattered, and the coffee was on the floor. 'Great.' She thought.
"What is bending?" Jason asked rubbing his wrists.
"Bending is what it sounds like. You control one of the four elements. Air, Earth, Fire, or Water. Some however, like the Avatar, are able to use more than one element."
"So, I'm an Avatar?"
"No. Or at least I don't think so. I'll be back." She said walking out, but tripping.
Jason instinctively reached out to help her, but he was too far out of reach.
He was horrified when he caught her, but she looked like she was in pain.
He set her on her feet and let go.
"You-you're a Blood Bender!" Lin said horrified.
"What! No. I reached out to help you when you were falling but I wasn't going to be able to get you in time, but I felt a connection and grabbed it.
Guards stormed the room and pointed their arms at Jason.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"I'm sorry, but you're a threat to society."
"What are you talking about! I don't even know what Blood bending is!"
The guards shot their grapples at Jason who ducked and punched towards the guards.
The guards were hit with large earthy fists punching them into the wall.
"No!" Jason yelled. "That's not what I meant to do!"
"Stop!" Lin yelled.
The guards launched a barrage of earth and metal at Jason.
They hit him just as a vortex of metal dust surrounded him.
When the dust settled the only things left of Jason were the remnants of a Red Helmet, the red bar symbol from his chest, and some blood on the earth and metal used to attack him.
Lin Beifong looked at the mess and decided to call the red hood a casualty. Maybe he might come to her if he wasn't being hunted.
Jason was walking through a sewer tunnel with several cuts on his body. "Damn them!" He shouted. "Just because I can't control something, I have no idea what the hell it is they attack me? What the hell!"
So, caught up in his ranting that he didn't realize his cuts were healing.
"I've got to blend in. No. First, I have to find a place to stay. I can steal food and water if I need to, but finding shelter is more important. Then I can find a way to blend in."
He didn't know how long he walked, but eventually he found himself underneath a manhole. He climbed up and saw a warehouse. He looked around and saw that it was most likely abandoned.
He walked around the warehouse and saw that it used to be a theatre, but it looked damaged by fire.
He rummaged around and found some outfits that looked like they would fit.
He put on a pair of black pants with a black shirt and black cloak.
'Okay. Stick to the shadows, get information and food, and come back.'
He walked through Republic City watching and listening.
The city was plagued by crime lords who ran protection rackets for their money.
'I guess that I need to get this bending thing down before I go after them.' He thought. 'It would be really bad if I ended up dying because I don't know how to bend.'
On his way back to the Theatre he swiped some food.
Over the next several hours he begrudgingly meditated like Bruce had taught him and determined that he had a strong connection to three of the four elements, particularly the alternate styles.
Earth Bending: His strength was what connected him to the Earth style, but his willpower is what allowed him to bend metal.
He had created a wall of metallic sand that acted like a shield and could probably act like weapons once he learned how.
Fire Bending: his rage was what connected him to the fire style, but his ferocity is what allowed him to wield lightning.
The fact that both were connected to his death were probably why it was black instead of yellow, red, or orange.
Water Bending: He didn't understand why he could Water Bend. It was the most confusing. Unfortunately, he could understand why he could Blood Bend... his bloodlust.
He would spend most days training to bend the elements while spending as little time outside. He only went outside for food and information.
He mastered Metal Bending first and created four walls a floor, and a roof.
He gathered furniture from the theatre and the props to make a bachelor pad. He had a bedroom in one corner with a bathroom, he had a kitchen in another corner, a training area in the third, and a living room in the final corner.
He had to open a door in the metal so he could leave and walk out through the Theatre door.
The next Bending style he managed was Water Bending.
He concentrated on meditation and found that he could pull the water from the air.
On one of his later trips, he took several water skins he'd stolen and used them to take water back to his base.
He began leaving several times a day to fill some water barrels he'd found and cleaned out.
He used the water in the water barrels to cook, clean, drink, and bathe which is why he needed to leave as many times as he did.
The final Bending style he learned was Fire Bending. The he concentrated on his rage to produce the flames and used it to move through training Kata's and learned how to control the fire through his rage.
After he learned to control it, he learned how to use it without his rage.
It had taken the longest to learn, but he eventually learned how to Fire Bend without calling on his rage.
He used his Fire Bending to light his base, cook, and keep warm.
He learned it just in time because the next day a winter storm came through and it would have been uncomfortable without heating.
He built a fireplace and chimney in his base and used broken sets, props, and chairs to keep his base warm.
It was a cold night when he decided to take his first patrol of the city.
He walked the city streets making sure to stick to the shadows.
'Nice place. If Beifong could see her precious city at night...'
He was pulled from his thoughts by a man's voice.
"Here's your cut." A voice said. "Keep up the good work, and there's more where that came from."
Jason looked around the corner and saw a man who looked like one of the members of the triad and a man wearing the police armor.
He latched onto the metal of the armor and pulled the dirty cop towards him and punched him knocking him out.
The triad member ran, but Jason used the metal from the armor and caught the man.
He took the dirty cops armor off and put it on over his clothes and wrapped the man in his cloak before wrapping him in the cable from the armors right hand, and the triad member in the cable from his left hand.
He dragged them to the police station and dropped them off on the front steps before leaving.
When he got back to his base he walked in and lit the fire.
"Hello Red Hood." A familiar voice said from the chair.
"Chief Beifong." Jason said.
"I see that you have mastered your Bending." She pointed around the base.
"Yeah. Took me a while, but I eventually got the hang of them."
"Interesting place you have here."
"Well, it's not like I had any money or anything. In fact, the only money I have is this." He said tossing her the money he stole from the Triad.
"I see. Where did you get this money?"
"I took it and this armor from a dirty cop who was working for the Triads."
"What! How did you find out?"
"I walked in on them exchanging the money and I broke it up, took this armor and the money, and dropped them off on your front steps."
"I see." Beifong said. "Do you have a way of earning money?"
"No, and I'm pretty sure that if you knew how much I stole then you would have to arrest me."
"Probably."
"How did you even find me?"
"An abandoned Theatre has noise coming from it and smoke coming from it, but it's not on fire. I didn't become Chief of police on my looks you know. I also didn't become the chief by spreading my legs for my superiors."
"I never said you did.
"Good."
"So, what are you going to do? Take me away. Throw me in prison for being able to bend blood even though I haven't used it since that day. Tell the Triad that I took one of their guys in and hope we kill each other. fight me?"
"No. I will let you live in peace, but I do ask that you get a job, so you don't send the wrong message or starve. There are non-Benders in the City you know."
"Yeah. I figured that out, but I figured that it would be better to learn how to Bend the Elements, so they don't go off prematurely, and I hurt someone."
"Thank you for your consideration. Did you learn how to Bend the elements by yourself?"
"Yeah. Why, is that bad?"
"No. I just haven't heard of someone doing that before."
"I was very determined."
"I'll say."
"Is that everything or was there something else?"
"No, no. Enjoy your evening." Chief Beifong said before leaving. On her way out she looked over her shoulder. "You can keep the Armor. It might come in handy."
"Thanks." Jason said before he went to his room. He took the armor off and went to sleep.
When he woke up, he went outside and sat in front of the fire. He felt something and reached under himself pulling out the money he'd taken from the Triad Member. That gave him an idea.
He walked through the city and found a non-Bender area. He just had to wait.
He waited Patiently every day until a group of Triad members showed up and began terrorizing a small business.
"Hey. It's that time of month again." The first guy said.
"Yeah. So, you better pay up." A second guy said. "Otherwise..."
"Otherwise, what?" Jason asked coming up.
"Who the hell is this guy?" The first guy asked.
"I'm the guy you don't want to piss off. Now tell me. What will you do if they don't?"
"Oh. A tough guy huh? You don't want to mess with us. We run this town."
Jason punched the guy in the stomach stabbing his grapples through the man's stomach. "Tell me where your boss is, and I won't let you bleed to death."
"The...Docks." The man said.
"Thank you." Jason pressed his finger to the man's stomach and shot black fire through the wound.
The man shrieked in pain before passing out.
Jason pressed his finger to the other wound and blasted the black fire through the other one.
He tossed the guy to his companion. "Tell your boss that I'm coming for him. I'll be there tonight."
"Okay." The man said afraid that he would piss himself if he stayed there much longer.
"And one more thing." Jason said.
The man looked at Jason who punched him.
Jason also picked their pockets when he hit them. leaving no one the wiser. He walked up to the shop owner. "How much for one of your radios?" He asked.
The shop owner looked at Jason in a mix of admiration and horror. "Uh."
"Hey, buddy. How much for a radio?"
"Thirty Yuan's"
Jason counted out the bills and paid for the Radio. "Thanks."
"No. Thank you!" The man yelled.
Jason made sure to watch his back as he walked home. He bought a few groceries and made sure that a few Triad Members followed him.
When he made it back to his base he walked in and disappeared into the shadows dropping his Radio and Groceries off to the side.
The Triad members ripped the door off only to see the blackness.
"Hey!" One of the members said. "No one disrespects the Red Monsoons Triad. We heard what you did, and we're here to make you pay!"
"Fine, but you're going to have to find me first." Jason's voice said from the shadows.
"Get out here and face us you coward!"
"Are you guy's afraid of the dark? Here. Let me give you some light!" Jason shot a fireball at the first man sending him flying.
The second man came in and shot fire at Jason, but Jason caught the fire, his fire absorbed it.
"Are you the Triad that works near the docks?"
"What? How did you find out?"
"Your friends told me."
"They are so dead when the boss finds out."
"How will your boss find out?"
"I'm going to tell him when we get back."
"How are you going to tell them if you're dead?" Jason asked shooting black lightning at the man.
The man let out agonized wails as the blood in his veins evaporated, and his heart exploded.
The first man was back up and Jason threw a rock at his head with enough force to decapitate him.
The other two guys looked at Jason and ran off screaming.
Jason held his hands out and stopped the men in their tracks.
The men struggled against Jason's Blood Bending.
"Where do you think you're going?" Jason asked pulling them back towards him.
The men struggled but couldn't say anything.
"You will see your boss again... In hell." He opened up two long holes in the ground and dropped them in before sealing the holes.
"Whoa." Jason said as he wobbled. "I must've overworked myself." He staggered to pick up his groceries and Radio before opening the door to his base. He sat them on the floor and had to use the wall to support him to his room. "I guess Bending really takes a lot out of you." He said before he fell to his knees and crawled to his bed.
He was halfway into his bed before he passed out.
When he woke up, he was lying in his bed. He got up and looked around.
"Good." Beifong said startling him. You're awake."
"What happened?" He asked.
"Why don't you tell us?"
"I went to do a bit of shopping, and when I came home, I was attacked by four guys."
"You're lucky you survived. It seems that two of them got away so you might want to leave and find a new place."
"No thanks. I think I'll stand my ground."
"Well. I won't try to force you to leave, but if they come back for you don't wear yourself out."
"I plan on doing some serious training before I do something like that again."
"Good. You were out for a week because of that."
"A week! Damn it!" Jason ran out the door.
"Where are you going?"
"I had an errand to run last week."
"Hey. Take it slow. You just had your first real fight with elemental bending. You need to relax. Rebuild your Chi. Then go about your errand."
"Okay. I'll do that. Why did you come up here anyway?"
"We got a call that there was a fight going on up here. I told them that I would investigate. Imagine my surprise to find two dead men and you passed out."
"Thanks for checking in."
"You're welcome, but don't go looking for trouble."
"I won't, but I tend to be a trouble magnet."
Chief Beifong looked at Jason before leaving. "Have a good day Red Hood."
"You too Chief."
Jason plugged his Radio in and turned it on before he went to make something to eat.
Chief Beifong had put his groceries up and left an envelope in one of the drawers in his counter.
He opened the envelope and found some money in it. That reminded him.
He went outside and unearthed the two men he buried. He took the money out of their pockets and buried them again.
He went back inside and made a meal while listening to music on the radio. The one thing that sucked about this world was that it didn't have T.V., but he would have to survive without. He ate his meal and went back to bed.
The next morning, he made his way down to the docks.
He went through each warehouse looking for the Triad, but he couldn't find them. 'With my luck they will be in the last warehouse.'
He walked through the last warehouse and found the Triad.
"It's been a week boss. Do you really think that he's going to show up?" One thug asked.
"Of course, he will. He's just playing a mind game. He's trying to throw us off our game, and attack when we least expect it."
'That's actually a good idea.' Jason thought. 'It worked in Gotham, why not here?'
Jason waited until anyone left the warehouse. When they did, he would follow them, kill them, cut their head off, take their money, and throw their body over the edge and into the water.
He waited until he had ten heads. He put them in a water globe and went inside the warehouse again and threw the water globe at the triad head.
"What the hell!" The man yelled. "What is this? Who did this?"
There was the sound of people puking.
"I did that over the last two hours!" Jason said loud enough to be heard from his hiding spot. "Just imagine what I could do in an entire day!"
"What do you want!" The boss yelled.
"I'm here to sell you guys protection."
"Protection from who!" A thug yelled.
"Protection from me!"
"What!" The boss yelled. "We'll kill you!"
"Really?" Jason began crushing the warehouse around them.
"STOP!" The boss yelled.
"Congratulations! You work for me now! You will stop pulling the protection racket on non-Benders! If you don't, I'll hunt down all of you and kill you! Am I understood?!"
There was silence.
Jason began crushing the warehouse again.
"YES!" Everyone yelled in unison.
"Good. I'll take my first payment of sixty percent of your funds."
"WHAT!"
"Fine. Sixty-six percent."
"No!"
"I'll take my sixty-six percent, and I'll expect sixty percent every month... oh, and don't go after non-Benders. If you do then I'll send you to hell."
"Fine."
"And if you think of pulling a fast one and try killing me when you give me the money let me remind you..." Jason crushed the Warehouse a little farther.
"We get it!"
"Good. I'll be talking to the other Triads too, so don't worry."
Jason left and waited.
Ten minutes later two men brought out large duffle bags, and two more were there as bodyguards.
"Good. Now search the bags for anything that could hurt me."
The men searched the bags but didn't find anything.
"Good. Now hand me the bags."
The two men brought the bags to Jason.
Jason froze the four men in a wall of ice, picked up the bags, and left.
When Jason made it back to his base, he created a metal box, put the money in it, and buried it. "Two more, and maybe I can get rid of the Triads entirely."
Jason walked to the opposite end of the city where the Agni Kai Triads were located. Granted they would probably just replace the bosses with someone who had the backbone to deal with him, but by then he would have more than enough money and could kill the Triads.
When he got to where he wanted, he found an abandoned office building and went to work.
He built a second base. This one was smaller than his other one, but he didn't need it to be big. He put the same kind of design in it. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and training room. The last thing he added was a fireplace and chimney.
When that was done, he looked around for any furniture.
He found a couple of couches, a few of chairs, two tables, and futon.
He used his water bending to clean off the furniture and moved it into the base before making a fire and drying the furniture as best he could.
When he was done, he decided to stay the night.
The next morning, he woke up and headed back to a non-Bender area.
He stayed in the area for about two weeks before the Agni Kai Triads showed up for their money.
"I'm sorry." The Shop owner said. "Business has been slow. I don't have your money."
"That's too bad Mr. Izawa." The first thug said. "That means that we can't protect you this month. Do you know what happens when we can't protect you?"
"Please. No."
The man brought his fist up and went to throw a fireball at the store, but a stone fist punched his out of the way.
"Leave him alone." Jason said walking up to the shop.
"Tough guy huh?" The second thug said. "Well, we know how to handle tough guys."
"Maybe you do, but you don't know how to handle me." Jason said punching the thug in the throat.
A third thug grabbed Jason from behind, but Jason slammed the back of his head into the guy's nose sending the cartilage into his brain.
The first guy got up and tried to Fire Bend at Jason, but Jason grabbed his hand and sent lighting into the guy's arm. "Tell your boss that I'm coming for him." He grabbed the second guy and hit him with a lightning bold in the face.
The first guy jumped in his car and drove away.
Jason picked the first guy he killed and put him against the wall. He picked his pocket of any money before doing the same to the other guy.
"Hey." He asked the shop keeper. "What do you sell?"
"I have Radios and home furnishings."
"Cool. I'll take a radio and maybe a couple of lamps."
The man sold Jason two lamps and a radio.
With that Jason went back to his second base.
When he got back, he plugged the lamp and radio into the wall.
He would send electricity through the walls allowing the electronics to work.
He turned on the radio while made dinner.
"... the fire ferrets win their first game. This rookie team shows promise, but let's see if they last the season!"
'I wonder what they're playing?' He asked himself.
He sat down at the table and ate while listening to the next game.
'Hm. Pro-Bending. I might have to go watch it sometime.'
The next match was bogus. The wolf-bats were a bunch of cheaters.
A wicked grin slid across his face. "Maybe I can test my skills against a few Pro-Benders."
He finished eating and left the base before heading to the Pro-Bending Arena.
It wasn't that hard to find, but he asked for directions twice.
When he got to the Arena, he asked a few spectators who were leaving if they knew where the wolf-bats were.
They didn't, but they told him to ask the building manager.
He made his way inside and found the manager's office.
"No!"
The manager yelled.
"I don't care how much you pay me! I won't let your team cheat their way through!"
"Come on Mr. Lung."
A second voice said.
"I just want to give the fans a little something more. Is that too much to ask?"
"When it involves cheating against players who work their butts off to get a shot at the title. Why do you want your team to win four years in a row anyway?"
To show how good they are of course."
"They're only good at one thing, and that's cheating!"
"Do you want run that by me one more time?"
"Your team has no love for the sport. My dad dedicated his life to the sport. He showed real sportsmanship, but what you want to do is the opposite, and I refuse to let you do this anymore. Even if it means I have to shut down the Arena."
"Fine, but you wanted this."
A man left the room, and Jason grabbed him slamming him into a wall. "You're going to tell me where the wolf-bats are or I'm going to start taking you apart piece by piece."
"Who the hell are you?"
"You're worst nightmare."
The man yelled as Jason ran black lightning through his body.
"Tell me!"
"They go to this noodle shop down the road! Now please just let me go!"
Jason opened a crevice in the ground and dropped the man into it before slamming it closed.
The building manager looked at Jason in horror. "What did you do?"
Jason realized he was cloaked in shadows and walked toward the manager making sure to keep his face hidden. "I am not your enemy. I only target the scum of this city. A man will come talk to you sometime this week. He will help you keep this building open."
"Why?"
"He's a huge fan of the sport."
"Okay, but why did you kill that man?"
"He used his power and influence to infect the city. I am here to fight the infection caused by him and others like him."
"What should we call you?"
"I will reveal myself in time but now is not the right moment."
With that Jason left to find the noodle shop.
When he got to the noodle shop, he walked in and talked to the manager.
"Excuse me, but are the wolf-bats here?"
"In the back."
"Thanks. Sorry in advance for the damages." He said slapping a large stack of money on the counter.
When he got to the back, he saw a smug looking guy with two ladies who would look quite nice if they weren't cozying up to that loser.
"Hey!" Jason yelled at the team. "Are you the wolf-bats?"
"Yeah. What about it?" The guy in the middle said.
"You guy's cheated to win the last three years in a row."
"Can you prove that?"
"I'm pretty sure that you can't fight to save your lives." Jason said before throwing a fireball at the man in the middle.
The man waved his hand in front of him trying to douse the fire.
The fire sizzled until it made the water evaporate and hit the man's shoulder.
The man looked at Jason. "Wh-who are you?"
"I'm the guy who's going to cut out the infection plaguing this city."
"What are you talking about?"
An Earth Bender threw a chunk of the floor at Jason.
Jason ducked, spun, and flipped over a gout of fire thrown by the Fire Bender, and he threw a blast of water at the Fire Bender before pulling the Fire Bender towards him.
The Earth Bender threw another chunk of rock at Jason.
Jason threw the Water Bender at the rock and jumped over it before throwing a lightning bolt at the Earth Bender knocking him out. He walked towards the Water Bender.
"Please don't hurt me." The Water Bender begged for his life.
"You better start training hard and play fair!" Jason said. "If you don't stop cheating then I will find you and break you."
"I'll do anything you want just don't hurt me!"
Jason spun around and left the noodle shop.
When Jason made it back to his second base he went to his bed and fell asleep.
When he woke up, he went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
"Did you really have to break the wolf-bat team?" Lin asked.
"They cheated at Pro-Bending."
"WHAT! You attacked them because they cheated at a stupid game!"
"Yeah. They were cheating rather than playing the game for the fun of it."
"Why the hell haven't I thrown you in prison yet?"
"Because you know that you can't keep me there, and I would be out in twenty-four hours?"
"Is that a challenge?"
"No. Why do you keep me out of prison?"
"Maybe because of the Prophecy."
Jason stopped what he was doing and looked at Lin. "What...Prophecy?"
"A red bat will fall from the sky. He will have power that he will not understand. With this power he will be the Avatars strongest Ally, or the Avatars greatest enemy."
Lin recited.
Jason rubbed his hand across his chest where his red bat Symbol had been. He looked at his hands. "What the hell's an Avatar?"
"The Avatar is a protector of the world. They bring peace to the world."
"So, either I will help the Avatar bring peace to the world or fight the Avatar?"
"Yes."
"Is that why I am able to wield three of the four Elements?"
"I would assume so. Look at what you have done in almost nine months."
Jason thought about the past nine months. He had learned how to use three elements. "How long does it normally take to learn how to bend three elements?" He asked the question he should have asked two months ago.
"It's nearly impossible. Especially with how old you are. No one who was born a non-Bender has ever showed the potential for Bending. Let alone three of the elements."
"Then, how can I?"
"I don't know."
"Then should I even continue?"
"Yes. I would ask that you become the Avatar's Ally."
Jason thought about this.
"You don't have to answer right away. You can meet the Avatar first."
"Thank you."
"Stay out of trouble." Lin said leaving.
"No promises."
After Lin left Jason made his way to the streets.
He walked through the streets until he came to a building. He knocked on the door and was answered by a man wearing a suit.
"What?" The man asked.
"Is this the Agni Kai residence?" Jason asked.
"How did you find us?"
"Magnetism." Jason said flatly before kicking the door down.
"What's going on there!" A man yelled.
Jason ran through the building kicking thugs through walls.
He ran into a large room and saw a man in a red business suit.
"Are you here to try and take my business?"
"No. Quite the opposite really. I'm here to offer you protection."
"Protection? From whom?"
"From me."
The man threw a bolt of lightning at him
Jason held up his hand and caught the bolt before throwing a black bolt back at the man singeing the hair on the man's head. "Just so you know I was aiming at your hair, and I don't even need to use Bending to beat you."
"Really? I don't believe you."
Jason jumped over the table and punched the table in front of the Boss. cracking the wood in half.
The Boss looked at Jason. "I'm not impressed."
"Then what about the fact that I beat all of your grunts?"
"That would be impressive... If you did."
A body fell from the ceiling and threw a ball of fire at Jason sending him through the wall.
Jason jumped up and brushed himself off. "Well. It seems like one of you might be able to put up a fight."
"Thank you." A woman said walking through the dust.
"Hm. I can tell that you are formidable."
"I am the strongest member of the Agni Kai."
"I'll be the judge of that."
The woman flung a fireball at Jason.
Jason doused the fire with water.
"Are you the Avatar?"
"No, but apparently I can rival them."
"Prove it!"
Jason pulled a rock from the ground and threw it at the woman.
The rock exploded five feet from the woman.
"What! How?" The woman asked.
"I made the rock hollow and filled it with fire causing it to explode."
"That is not enough proof."
Jason created a ball inside of a ball inside of a ball and threw it at the woman.
The woman smacked the ball away but was hit with a trio of water balls. The first one hit her in the face, the second and third hit her shoulders soaking her top.
"Eh. Not what I thought it would do." Jason said kind disappointed.
"What was the purpose of that attack?"
"Eh. I thought... Ya know what I probably shouldn't tell you."
"Tell me!"
"Fine. I was hoping that it would have the same effect as a wet T-shirt contest." Jason said rubbing the back of his head."
"What is a wet T-shirt contest?"
"Well... Um... It's where women like yourself dump water on themselves and get judged."
"I do not understand this custom."
"It's kind of popular where I come from... if you know where to look."
"Hm. I would like to know more about this custom." The woman said sliding up to Jason.
"Um..." Jason said feeling uncomfortable.
The woman blasted Jason through a wall before she jumped at him and grabbed his head and smashed it in the ground.
Jason flipped sending the woman off his back, and into the floor. He straddled her. "You have been the biggest challenge since I got here."
The woman kneed Jason in the crotch.
Jason rolled so that she was sitting on him. "Well, if you wanted to be on top then you just had to say so."
"UH! You are so infuriating!"
"I have been told that. Tell me. Does your insurance cover flooding damage?"
"What?"
The building flooded and the two were washed out of the building.
Jason used Earth Bending to get the high ground and froze everyone from the Triad. "Now that I have your attention, I would like to offer you protection from me."
Jason looked at the Triad members and passed out.
He woke up tied to a bed. He also realized something was very wrong.
He was naked.
The only thing covering him was a silk sheet.
The woman he'd been fighting walked out of the bathroom wearing a towel around her bust.
"Um." Jason said getting a feeling to where this was going.
"I'm glad that you're awake."
"And alive." Jason said. "Is there a reason why I'm not dead, or you know in a torture chamber or prison cell?"
"Because I said that I wanted to deal with you."
"And how exactly do you plan to deal with me?"
"By giving you your protection money."
Jason thought about that. "Okay you lost me."
"I'm going to give you your protection money... after giving you something to protect."
"What exactly is that?"
The woman dropped the towel giving Jason a good look at her nakedness. "A child of course."
"Oh fuck."
"That's the plan." The woman said walking towards Jason and ripping the sheet off.
Jason walked into his second base that night and went to bed hoping the day would turn out to be a nightmare.
When he woke up, he realized that it wasn't a nightmare.
"That's just great." He spoke.
He walked out and saw three large bags of money sitting outside his base. He created two large metal boxes and put the money in them before burying them.
He left his base and grabbed some fruit to eat on the way to the Agni Kai Triads.
When he got there, he was led to the room with the boss, but this time the woman was there.
"Good to see you." The Boss said. "Did you get your money?"
"Yes sir. I assume that you had people follow me to find out where I live in order to deliver it?"
"I'm glad, and yes. Yesterday we were going to kill you, but my daughter had a carefully crafted plan in order to keep you on our side."
"Yeah. Raping me to get pregnant with my child so I will fight for the Agni Kai Triad. Smart."
"It wasn't all bad." The woman said. "Was it?"
"What's the deal?" Jason asked.
"Deal? I don't understand." The Boss said. "You fight to protect my grandchild, and you get paid to do so. Other than that, you live your life."
"That's it?"
"That's it."
"Well then. I guess that I will be leaving."
"Wait." The woman said walking up to him. She kissed him before saying. "Make sure to visit when you get lonely. My bed is always open."
Jason left the house and went back to his base. He took out some of the money and headed to the Pro-Bending Arena.
When he got there, he found the building manager.
"I have an associate who told me you were in some financial trouble?"
"Yes sir." The man said nervously.
"What's wrong? Did he kill again?"
"Yes. He buried the man alive."
"Damn it."
"Don't worry. The man won't be missed."
"Um. Okay."
"He would bribe people to look the other way. Not all of it was for Pro-Bending. I never should have listened to him."
"It's all right sir. I know a little something about moral grey areas. How much do you need to keep your Arena afloat?"
"I'm not sure."
Jason put a bag on the table. "Will this work?"
The manager nearly lost his eyes when he saw the money. "Yes. This will help."
"Good. Keep this place open. I enjoy listening to it on the radio."
"Would you like tickets for every match?"
"What? You mean like season passes?"
"I don't know what that is but sure."
"Okay."
"What's your name so I can tell them to leave you two tickets each game."
"Jason Todd."
"Thank you, Mr. Todd."
"You're welcome, sir."
Jason left for his base.
When he got there Chief Beifong was waiting for him.
"What can I do for you chief?"
"A source tells me that you joined up with the Triads."
"Not really. I'm doing a protection racket for the Red Monsoons, but I may have accidentally joined up with the Agni Kai Triad."
"What do you mean?"
"So, I go over to the Agni Kai Triad house and tried to do the protection racket over there. I was doing really good until this Lady showed up, and I exhausted myself fighting her."
"Go on." Lin said in barely controlled annoyance.
"So, I pass out and when I wake up, I'm tied spread Eagle in a bed completely naked."
"Why?" Lin asked concerned.
"She had this crazy plan that if she were to become pregnant with my kid then I would have to protect the Agni Kai's because my child is there."
"Do you realize that I could arrest you for pulling a protection scam?"
"Yes, but you won't because it's the Triads."
"Leave the other Triads alone so you don't end up having to protect all of them."
Jason realized that if something like that happened at the other Triads then he might actually have to do that.
"Okay. I won't try taking on the Triads anymore."
"Good. So, what will you do?"
"I'm going to travel around the city, maybe build a few more bases like this."
"Stay out of trouble." Lin said before leaving.
Jason left the base and headed to the factory district.
Once there he found an abandoned factory and went to work, but this time he built the base, and hid it underground.
With that done he went and bought another radio and lamp.
He put them in the third base and headed back to the second.
When he got there, he saw the woman from the Agni Kai Triad.
"What are you doing here?" He asked harshly.
"I wanted to see you again."
"Why?"
"You're the only one who has ever been able to hold your own against me. When I saw that you could hold your own against me, I knew that I wanted you."
"And if I happen to find someone other than you?"
"I am willing to share if they are."
"And if they aren't?"
"May the best woman win."
There was silence for a few minutes.
"Do you know why I chose you to be our child's father?"
"Because I was the guy who held his own against you?"
"Partially. I saw the real you in that fight. I saw the compassion and strength, and I knew that I wanted a child like that."
"Keep it away from crime otherwise that strength and compassion you admire will be replaced with greed and lust."
"I can feel it you know; I can feel the life that we worked together to make."
"You fucking raped me for that life! How does that turn into a life we made? I didn't consent to waking up naked on a bed while you fucked me!"
"I know, and I'm sorry. I should have gotten your consent, but it was the only way that I could convince my father to let you live."
"So somehow your father told the Triad to kill me unless you raped me?"
"No... maybe... yes... I don't know. I told him that I had a way to ensure that you would work for us, and he said that you could live. He was going to kill you right there, but I convinced him not to."
"And that way was to get pregnant with my child to insure I would protect it." Jason said connecting the dots.
"Yes."
Jason wiped his face and slid down the wall of the base. "I want to be part of our child's life." He finally said. "I never knew my father, and I don't want any child I sire to not know me."
"I can arrange that."
"I also don't want it knowing what your family does. I don't want it growing up in crime."
"That one will be a little harder to arrange, but I can try."
"And if anything happens to us, I want the child taken care of. I don't want it to be out on the streets, I don't want it given to the Agni Kai Triad, I want someone who will raise it right. I want it to have a better childhood than I had."
"What was your childhood like?"
"My dad was sent to jail, my mom died from drugs, I was left on the street until someone who gave a damn found me and took me in. Then when I was fifteen, I was killed."
"What? How did you come back?"
"I was brought back to life after I was sent into a pit of mythical water, but I came back angry and broken. I trained for five years to become the most dangerous version of myself and after that I went on a killing and crime spree. I snapped out of it a year later and tried to become a better person. I stopped killing and did become the best version of myself that I could... that is until I met my father's killer and killed him."
"You avenged your father. How is that a bad thing?"
"Because I said that I wouldn't kill ever again, and I did."
"I promise that I won't let our child grow up like that, and I won't keep them from you."
"Thanks, I guess."
Jason pushed himself up and opened his base and walked in.
The woman stood outside the base.
"I suppose you can come in. There's not much to steal, and if you did, I would just buy a new one."
She walked in and looked around. "You live here?"
"Yeah. I've never really needed much. I'll take the couch. There's a futon in the bedroom. It's not the nicest, but it's better than sleeping on the floor."
The woman grabbed his hand and pulled him into the bedroom. "I want to do this right."
"A little late for that isn't it?"
"Please?"
Jason relented and went with her.
"My name is Halo." She said as she laid down.
"My name is Jason."
"Jason. I like that name. It suits you."
"Thanks, I guess."
The two stayed up talking late into the night.
The next morning Jason woke up to the sounds of banging against the base. He jumped out of bed and opened the door ready to fight, but it was Agni Kai Triad members.
"Oh. It's you guys."
"Yes. Have you seen the Boss's daughter?"
"Yeah. She stayed here last night. Why?"
The thugs went into the room and dragged Halo out.
"Hey!" Jason yelled. "The hell do you think you are doing?"
"Now that she is pregnant, she has to be kept safe. The heir to the Agni Kai Triad needs to be kept safe."
Jason looked at Halo, and the two shared a horrified look.
"What do you mean?" Jason asked.
"The Boss wants his grandchild safe. Don't worry. You'll still get your money."
Jason watched as Halo left with the thugs. Why did he feel so empty all of the sudden?
He left the base and walked to the Dragon Flats District.
On his way there he saw a man talking about how evil Benders were.
"Tell me." Jason said. "Why do you think Benders are evil?"
"Are you a Bender?"
"No." Jason lied easily. "But I have plenty of friends who are Benders. What makes them so evil?"
"They oppress us non-Benders and make it harder for us to work."
"Yet here you are making it harder for the Benders by trying to get non-Benders to hate them."
"It's no less than they deserve for what they do to us. The Triads make us pay protection money to protect our shops. How is that fair to us non-Benders?"
"I suppose it's not really fair, but my point still stands. You aren't working. You're just standing around yelling about how unfair life is because you aren't a Bender. Why don't you pull your head out of your ass and do something with your life rather than bitch and moan. Life screws all of us, and there are only two things you can do. Either you can let life fuck you in the ass, or you can fuck life back. You're a pathetic waste of my time." Jason said stalking away.
When he made it to the Drago Flats District, he found an abandoned warehouse and went in. He made an underground base in that one too and went to buy some furniture, a radio, and a lamp.
He paid the men to leave it at the abandoned warehouse and not ask questions. Then he went and waited.
After the men dropped the furniture off, he moved the furniture inside.
He didn't know why he bought brand new furniture for this base, but he figured that it had something to do with Halo. If he ended up with their child, they could hide out here.
When he was done making the base look more like a house, he left heading back to his second base.
That night he laid awake wondering why he cared so much about Halo.
The next day he was walking back to his original base he heard something in an alleyway. He turned down the alleyway and saw five or six guys attacking one guy.
"HEY!" He yelled running at them.
One of the guys looked up in time to see Jason's fist connect with their face breaking their cheekbone.
Jason turned the punch into a flip that sent his foot into another guy's head sending him face first into the ground. He turned around and saw the other four guys turn to him. Three of them dropped into fighting stances, and the fourth one grabbed a knife.
Jason kicked a rock at the guy with the knife hitting him in the balls and sending him to the floor.
The other three ran at him together.
Jason kicked the first one's kneecap breaking it and sending his knee into the guy's face.
The other two swung at him at the same time but missed when he ducked.
Jason spun around and punched each guy in their legs dropping them to the ground and punched them in their throats.
The guy with the knife had staggered to his feet and slashed at Jason cutting him across his back.
"AHH!" Jason yelled more in surprise than pain. He spun around and punched the guy in the throat.
The guy dropped to his knees before Jason kicked him on his back.
Jason called on the water molecules in the air to heal the cut. He'd have to remember to wear the armor next time he went out.
The guy that the others were beating up groaned.
"Don't worry buddy. I've got ya." Jason said before he picked the guy up and carried him through the streets back to his primary base.
When they got there, he laid the guy on the bed. He'd have to get a healer. He needed to talk to Beifong.
He put on his armor and left.
When he got to the police station, he found Chief Beifong.
"Hey. Chief." He whispered.
"Yes... Get in here!" Beifong whisper yelled.
Jason walked into the office.
"What are you doing here? People think that you are dead!"
"I stopped a mugging, but I need to find a healer."
"What, are you hurt?"
"No, but the guy I helped is."
"Take him here." Beifong said handing him a pamphlet.
"Republic City Memorial Hospital." Jason read the title. "Okay. Thank you."
"Just don't show your face around here again. As far as they are concerned, you're dead."
"I won't." Jason said leaving.
Jason went back to his Base and grabbed the guy before running to the hospital.
When he got there, he ran into the hospital and placed the guy on a gurney.
"Do you know anything about him?" The nurse asked.
Jason took the man's passport out of his belt pouch and showed her the name.
"Azin." The nurse said. "What is your connection to him?"
"Six guys were attacking him. I stopped them."
"Are you going to pay for his medical treatment?"
"What does that have to do with it?"
"We can't offer someone treatment unless they can pay."
Jason took out a stack of bills and out it on the counter. "Will that cover it?"
"And then some." The nurse said shocked.
"Good. Take care of him."
"Aren't you going to wait for him?"
"I'll be back. I have some questions that need answered."
Jason left and found the alleyway that he'd found Azin in.
He found the guy's still there after their beatdown and grabbed one. "Why did you guy's attack Azin?"
"He wouldn't hand his sister over."
"Why did you want her... wait don't answer that because I might kill you if you do. Instead answer where she went."
"She ran that way when Azin started fighting us."
Jason slammed the guy into the wall. "Say goodbye vermin." He said opening the ground enough to swallow them. He closed the ground over them and went in the direction the guy told him.
He walked for a few minutes before he heard crying. He looked around and found a girl who couldn't be more twelve years old. "Hey there. Are you Azin's sister?"
The girl looked startled that he knew her brother.
"Look. I know that you have absolutely no reason to trust me, but your brother was hurt and is in the hospital. I can take you there."
The girl scooted away.
Jason looked at her. "I'm going to be right back with some food okay."
She was scared but didn't run away.
Jason came back a few minutes later with some food and water. He also brought some new clothes. "Here you go."
Jason walked away to the wall, so he was far enough away to give her space, but close enough in case someone tried to grab her.
She came out a few minutes later having changed into the outfit and eating an apple Jason had bought her.
"Hey." Jason said. "Would it be all right if I take you to see your brother now?"
The girl looked at Jason and nodded.
Jason held out his hand and she took it.
the two walked back to the hospital, and Jason got them back to see Azin.
When they got to Azin's bed the girl crawled inside next to him.
A nurse came in and pulled the girl out of the bed. "Look at you, you're filthy." She began dragging the girl towards the bathroom in the room, and she began panicking.
Jason grabbed the girl and pushed the nurse away. "I'll handle it?"
"That girl needs cleaned before she infects a patient with something!"
"I said that I would handle it."
"You are not a nurse."
"No, but I know what she's gone through, and the last thing she needs is a bossy lady forcing her into uncomfortable situations."
"Fine!" The nurse said stalking away.
"That was scary, wasn't it?" Jason asked.
The girl nodded.
"Here. You need to take a bath. I promise that I won't do anything but get the water ready. You can even watch me, so I don't do something you don't like, is that okay?"
The girl nodded again.
Jason went into the bathroom and began filling the tub, but the water was cold. "Come here and tell me when the temperature is just right." Jason said using his fire to heat the water.
The girl put her hand in the water and pulled it out a few seconds later shaking it.
"Is it too hot?"
The girl nodded.
Jason drained the water and started again.
The girl put her hand in the water when he started Fire Bending and shook it out again.
"Still too hot?"
The girl nodded.
Jason started again and used his Fire Bending a little at a time.
The girl felt it and nodded at him.
Jason stopped and walked out. "I'll be outside if you need anything." He spoke.
Jason waited about five minutes before the girl came out in a towel and pointed at the tub. He looked at the water and saw that it was filthy. He drained the tub and used Water Bending to clean it out before filling it up again.
They girl pushed Jason out of the bathroom and took another bath.
Jason waited until the girl tugged on his shirt. He looked at her and she pointed at her hair.
"Do you want me to comb your hair?"
The girl shook her head.
"Do you want me to dry your hair?"
The shook her head again.
"Do you want me to wash your hair?"
the girl nodded.
Jason walked into the bathroom and helped the girl wash her hair in the sink making sure to get the nots and tangles out.
He made sure to scrub soft enough not to hurt, but hard enough to clean it.
When he was done the girl wrapped her hair in a towel and dried it.
She hugged Jason and sat down while he cleaned out the tub.
Jason took the outfit he bought her and began washing it in the tub with boiling hot water.
"Doesn't that hurt?" The girl asked, speaking for the first time.
"No. Being a Fire Bender lets you touch things that are hot without needing protection."
"That must be nice. Earth Benders and Water Benders can't do that."
"But Water Benders can shoot through the water and all that cool stuff, and Earth Benders can do some crazy stunts with vehicles if they want to."
"Maybe."
"So which type of Bender are you?"
"I'm a Water Bender, and Azin is an Earth Bender."
"I can help you guys train, so you don't have to be afraid anymore."
"What can you teach us?"
"I can bend Earth, Fire, and Water."
"Really? Are you the Avatar?"
"No. I'm not the Avatar, but I think I'm supposed to help them."
"Why?"
"Apparently there is this prophecy that says I will either be the Avatar's greatest Ally or strongest enemy of something like that."
"Okay. Can I go sit with my brother now?"
"Yeah."
They walked outside and the girl jumped into bed next to her brother while Jason sat in the chair next to the bed.
"Hello?" A Healer knocked on the door before entering.
"Yeah." Jason said standing up.
"I'm sorry, but are you their legal guardian?"
"Yes." Jason lied. "I was in the Military when I got news that our parents had died, and I was next of Kin. It took me a while to get back, but I was transferred to the Republic City Police Department under Lin Beifong so I could provide for them."
"I see. I'm going to call Chief Beifong to confirm your story. What's your name?"
"Jason Todd, but she might know the name I gained in the military."
"And what's that?"
"Red Hood."
"I'll ask her." the doctor said before leaving.
"Why did you do that?" The girl asked.
"Because if I didn't, and this doesn't work then you guys would, and might end up in an orphanage separated, and I know what happens when kids like you get separated."
"Why would you put yourself on the line like that for us?"
"Because I've been in your shoes, and it sucks."
"My name is Baani." The girl said.
"Hey Baani. If this doesn't work then hold on because It will get really crazy, really fast."
The doctor came back ten minutes later with Lin.
"There you are Mr. Todd." Lin said. "I see that you were able to get your siblings taken care of."
"Yes sir, Chief."
"Come by the office later so we can finish the paperwork making your transfer official."
"Of course, Chief."
"If there is nothing else, could I speak to my officer alone?" Lin asked.
"Of course." The doctor said leaving.
When they were sure the doctor was gone Lin looked at Jason and scowled. "What the hell is wrong with you!" She whisper yelled.
"I wasn't going to let these kids get sent away and separated." Jason whispered back.
"Well now both out necks are on the line thanks to you."
"Don't worry. I will slip away and not bother you again after this."
"No. Now that you are a member of the police, I need to swear you in." Lin said handing him a packet. "Congratulations. You are the first undercover cop. You only take secret assignments that are approved through me, and you will get released from your duty when and if I retire."
"So basically, do what I'm doing right now only I get paid for it."
"Yes. It keeps you away from the police station and gives you the authority to act so you aren't committing vigilante acts."
"Thanks?" Jason asked.
"You're welcome. There are also the records there so you can legally adopt them as your brother and sister. It's bending the law a little, but I hate the fact that the Orphanage separates families."
"Maybe that's a side project I can work on." Jason said signing the paperwork and handing it back to Lin. "I know that you are putting your neck on the line right now, but thanks."
"Just try and stay out of trouble."
"I will try."
"Liar." Lin said before leaving.
Jason sat down blowing out a puff of air.
"Is it true?" Baani asked. "Did you really adopt us to save us from being separated?"
"Yeah. That is if you want me to adopt you."
Baani jumped into Jason's arms and started crying into his chest. "We have a family again!" She sobbed into his chest.
Jason hugged Baani until she cried herself to sleep.
Azin woke up and looked around.
He was in a hospital room. "Where..." He looked over and saw Baani sleeping on a police officer's chest. 'Great. Now they are going to send us to an orphanage where they will separate us.'
He moved trying to sit up, but he was too sore to move.
"You okay?" The officer asked.
"Not really, but why would you care about a couple of street urchins you're just going to send to the orphanage?" Azin groaned.
"Because as far as anyone knows you guys are my younger siblings whose parents died after they were killed, and I was in the military."
"Why did you lie for us?"
"Because I've been in your shoes. Not knowing what tomorrow would bring, where your next meal would come from, who was a friend or a foe, why the universe hates you, when would be the day you died, how were you going to survive? Any of those questions ring a bell?"
"Yeah. All of them."
"Well. Starting today you don't have to ask those questions anymore. I'll be taking care of you."
"Until you get tired of us and kick us out."
"Nope. You guys are stuck with me for a while."
"I'll believe it when someone who's not the Avatar can bend more than one element."
Jason looked at the kid.
"Don't tell me you can bend more than one Element."
"Three." Jason said.
"I call bullshit."
Jason created a black fireball in his hand, sent the cable on his armor flying, and pulled the water molecules in the air to create a ball of water.
"No way." The kid said in awe. "How did you get the fire to look black?"
"I think it's because I have a lot of negative emotions connected to my death."
"Oh. How did you die?"
"I don't think that's a story you want to hear right now."
"Okay."
A nurse came in and looked Azin over before getting the doctor.
"It seems like you are going to be sore for a few days, but I want to keep you another night for observation."
"Okay." Jason said.
"We could bring in one or two more beds if you would be more comfortable that way."
Baani woke up and stretched. She looked up at Jason and smiled before looking at Azin. "Azin! You're awake!" She yelled jumping from Jason to Azin's bed. "I'm so glad you're awake. When you told me to run, I thought you..."
Azin held Baani. "It's all right Baani. Jason is the one who saved me."
Baani jumped at Jason. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She spoke.
"You're welcome. Do you want to get something to eat?"
"What about Azin?"
Jason looked at the doctor. "Can he walk around?"
"He will be sore, but I don't see why not."
"What about a wheelchair?"
"I'll get one."
Jason walked beside Baani as she pushed Azin's wheelchair towards the cafeteria.
When they got there, they got their food and took it to a table.
"So." Jason said. "Tell me about yourselves."
"Well." Azin said. "My name is Azin and I'm fifteen, and this is Baani. She's twelve."
"I'm Jason and I'm twenty-seven. What happened to your parents?"
"They died three years ago. We were coming here when a storm capsized the boat we were on. Baani and I have been on the streets ever since."
"Sorry to hear that."
"It's all right." Baani said. "We were on the streets for a while when this guy came up and said that he would take care of us, but he only wanted me. We ran away, and he's been looking for us ever since."
"Can you tell me about this guy?"
"Yeah." Azin said. "Or you can ask him yourself. He's at the table behind you."
Jason looked over to see a man wearing a pair of hospital pajama's looking at them. He looked like he just pissed himself.
Jason got up and walked over to the guy's table. "Hey." He said in a low voice. "Is there a reason why you were after my sister?"
"I uh. I um." The guy couldn't speak.
Jason used his metal bending to pull the guy's knife to him, and he began looking it over. "I asked you a question."
The guy looked terrified.
"Is there a problem over here?" An orderly asked.
"Yeah. What is this guy's problem? He won't speak when I asked him a question."
"He can't speak officer."
"What is he in here for?"
"Someone attacked the restaurant he was eating at a few nights ago and he was caught in the fight."
"I see. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Jason walked back to the table.
"Why didn't you do anything?" Baani asked.
"Have either of you heard of Karma?"
"No."
"Basically, it keeps the world in Balance."
"Like the Avatar?" Baani asked.
"Sure. You can look at it that way. It's the Avatar of the universe."
"Cool."
They ate in silence and walked around the hospital before going back to their room where they put two more beds in for Jason and Baani.
They spent the day in the hospital, and when they left the next day, they walked to the abandoned movie theatre.
"What are we doing here?" Azin asked.
"This is where we are staying for a few days until I can buy an actual house."
"But it's so old."
They walked inside and saw the metal building.
"Whoa." Baani said. "Do you live here?"
"Yeah."
"What does it look like on the inside?"
They walked inside and were shocked at the interior.
"You made this?"
"Yeah. come out here for a second."
They walked back outside, and Jason opened the east wall and made it longer before closing it again.
He walked to the north wall and opened it before expanding it as well.
He did the same thing to the south and west walls making the base almost twice as large as it was.
When they went inside Jason moved the furniture around and made two more rooms with bathrooms.
"This is only for a few days until I can buy a house. I made this as a base because I wasn't sure how long I was going to be here, but I can't make you guys live my lifestyle."
"Thank you." Azin said. "For everything."
"You're welcome. Now who wants to go house hunting?"
"ME!" Baani yelled.
Jason opened the floor and pulled the box out before pulling out a few stacks of money, ad putting more in a bag and throwing it over his back.
"Whoa." Baani said. "You're rich."
"I do have money, but just because you have money doesn't make you rich. Remember that."
They left the base and went shopping for a new outfit for Azin before they went to find a house.
They found several houses for sale, and looked through many of them, but finally found a house that they all agreed on.
It was three stories with a basement, and a large backyard. The bedrooms were nice and had several good views.
When Jason told the realtor that he would buy the house the realtor began laughing.
"I'm sorry sir, but there is no way you could afford this house. It's just too expensive for someone with your fashion sense."
Jason pulled out the stacks of money he had taken. "Is this enough for the house or just the down payment?"
The realtors laugh turned into a coughing fit.
"I'll take that as a yes?"
The realtor counted each stack. "One hundred thousand Yuan's? That is about a third of what the house cost."
"Okay then." Jason said reaching for his bag.
He pulled out the rest of the money and paid for the house in full.
The realtor was shocked that Jason carried that much money around.
"Do you have the keys to the house?" Jason asked.
The realtor handed Jason the key, and they walked into the house. "Can you just sign the paperwork?" The realtor asked putting the paperwork on the table.
"Sure." Jason said signing the paperwork for the house. "Let's go guys. We have some shopping to do."
They went to a furniture store and bought three full bedroom sets complete with bedding, a dining room table with chairs, couches, chairs, coffee tables, dishes, clothes and hangers, cooking utensils, cookware, and food.
"Do you think you bought enough?" Azin asked.
"No." Jason said. "I'm sure that we forgot some stuff and will be back here by the end of the week, but hey. It's a good start, right?"
"I guess."
"Great. We can take the food and clothes back home, but they will have to deliver pretty much everything else."
"So, does this mean we are sleeping at the base tonight?"
"Unless they can deliver tonight."
"Sorry." The manager said, but the earliest we can deliver it is the day after tomorrow."
"No problem." Jason said.
They each grabbed what they could and walked back to the house.
When they got to the house they went to their rooms and put their clothes up, and Jason started fixing dinner.
"So." Baani asked. "What are we going to do tomorrow?"
"I figured that we would go out and walk through the city." Jason said.
"Okay. Sounds good to me."
They are dinner and went to bed.
That night Jason woke up when he heard the floorboards creak. He created a fireball and saw Azin and Baani in his doorway.
"Couldn't sleep?" He asked.
"No." Baani said. "I kept having a nightmare that you left us."
"Come on."
They went over to Jason and laid on either side of him.
'This is odd, but I think I can get used to it.' Jason thought to himself.
The next morning Jason made breakfast, and they left the house after taking showers and getting dressed.
They were walking around when they heard a girl say, "We'll take one of everything please."
"That will be twenty Yuan's." The lady said.
"Oh. I don't have any money." The girl said.
"Then what good are you to me!" The lady demanded.
"Hungry?" Jason asked.
"Yeah. Both Naga and I are."
"Well let's see what we can do about that." Jason said as he walked to the booth. "Hello." He spoke. "How much could I get for this?" He asked handing her fifty Yuan's.
"I'll make you a to go box." The woman said.
Jason took the box, and they walked through town until they found a place to eat in a shopping area.
"Thank you." The girl said. "I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't shown up."
"I hope it's good we don't find out." Jason said. "My name is Jason. This is my brother Azin and my sister Baani."
"Hello. I'm Korra."
"Nice to meet you, Korra." Jason said.
"Hi." Azin said.
Baani looked nervously at Korra. "Hello." She said meekly.
"Hi. It's very nice to meet you."
A red car pulled into the shopping area and three guys got out. They walked over to a shop and began demanding protection money.
Korra got up and walked over to them while Jason crushed their car with his Metal Bending.
"What the hell are you doing?" The leader asked.
Jason got up. "My job. Leave these people alone or I will make you regret coming here"
A Fire Bender threw a gout of fire at Jason who caught it in his black flames and absorbed it.
A Water Bender threw a water bullet at Korra, but she caught it and threw it back freezing the guy's head before kicking him into the wreckage of his car and smashing the ice.
An Earth Bender made a move, but Jason threw a hollow rock that exploded next to his face.
Korra used her Earth Bending to knock the guy into the air and Jason used his Metal Bending to grab the guy and pull him towards him.
"That was amazing." Korra said. "You used two elements."
"And you used two." Jason said.
"What are you?" They asked in unison.
They laughed at each other, but Jason caught the three Triad Members and used Earth Bending to wrap the street around them. "Wait here. The cops will be here shortly." He said shooting black lightning into the sky.
Korra, Jason, Azin, and Baani walked to the docks where Korra Swam to Air Temple Island.
"Glad she didn't destroy the city?" Jason asked Beifong who was standing behind him.
"Yes, but I have a question for you."
"What is it?"
"How good are you at interrogations?"
"Depends on what you want."
"There are four criminals who have information I want."
"How long have you been asking?"
"Thirteen years."
"Whoa. I guess that I need to brush up on the old me then."
"So, you can get me the information I want?"
"Do you want them alive afterwards?"
"So long as you get me what I want I don't care. That's how dangerous these Criminals are."
"I need to find someone to take care of Azin and Baani while I'm gone."
"Good. I know just the person you can ask."
"Really? Who?"
"She just swam off to Air Temple Island."
"Korra?"
"Yes. The criminals I want you to interrogate want her dead."
"Jason." Baani said. "You can't let them hurt Korra. I know we just met, but she was really nice."
"I need something from you Chief."
"What is it?"
"Do you have some metal from the car I crushed?"
"It was crushed. Why do you need it?"
"I need to make a new helmet."
Lin became quiet for a while. "I have something for you down at the police station. I'll be right back."
With that Lin left.
Korra came back a few minutes after Lin left.
"Hey Jason." She spoke.
"Hey Korra. So, what happened with the island?"
"Tenzin said he wouldn't train me in Air Bending yet."
"Oh. I thought you knew Air Bending."
"No. It's the only one I still need to learn."
"Okay. Um I hate to ask you this, especially when we just met, but could you please babysit Azin and Baani for me while I'm at work? I can pay you, but I just got asked to do a last-minute job."
"Um sure I guess."
"Great. After the chief gets back with my stuff then I'll take you back to our house and give you some advance pay."
"Okay. I guess."
Lin came back five minutes later with a box and a packet.
Jason opened the box and saw a red helmet with an opaque red face screen. "Thank you chief."
"Just get me what I want, and we'll call it even."
"You got it chief." Jason said putting on his Red Hood helmet for the first time in a year.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
AN: I do not own Red Hood or Legend of Korra.
AN: I do not own the song used in this chapter. It is 'Indestructible' by Disturbed. I make no money from its use.
Jason walked to the Agni Kai Triad house and asked to see Halo.
He was led to a room where he saw a pregnant Halo sitting in a comfortable looking chair.
The men left them alone to talk in private.
"Why did you come here?" She asked. "It's been three months. Why come now?"
Jason told her what happened over the last three months, and that he was called on his first undercover mission for Beifong.
"So, you want me to babysit two orphans while carrying your child?" She asked a little tensely.
"No. I found someone to look after them. I came to tell you that I would be gone for a while."
"Why? You don't really care that much about me. I'm just the girl who raped you remember."
Jason wiped his face. "I know that I'm not a good person. I'm about to go and prove that I'm not, but after we talked that night three months ago... I don't know, but I felt differently. Maybe it's because I haven't had an actual relationship for very long, or maybe I was scared I would end up leaving the kid like my mom and dad left me, but after you left, I felt... I don't know. Empty."
"Wait. Are you saying that you want to be with me even after what I did?"
"Yes. Or at least I want to try and make it work."
Halo got up and hugged Jason. "We can be together after you come back."
Jason hugged her back. "I'll tell Beifong about a place you can stay if you need to."
"Thank you." Halo said kissing him.
Jason left after the kiss and headed to his house.
He stopped at his second Base and picked up some money before he got there.
When he got there, he found Korra, Azin, and Baani playing with Naga in the backyard.
Korra walked into the house when she saw him.
"Okay." Jason said putting some Yuan's on the counter. "This is for groceries and food. You guys can get takeout once a week, but you should try and eat homemade food for the rest of the time. Make sure that Azin and Baani get plenty of exercise both physically and with their Bending. Beifong will check in once a week to make sure they aren't killing you or something, and she might be bringing someone over here. If she does have Azin and Baani be nice. Make sure they get at least seven hours of sleep, although eight would be better. Any questions?"
"Yes. I haven't really had much experience cooking. Sooo."
"All right. Don't get super unhealthy food then." Jason said handing her a bag of money. "Try not to run out of this."
Korra looked in the bag and gasped. "How..."
"That's not important right now. I have to go. Thanks, bye."
Korra watched Jason leave. "Okay." She said confused.
Jason went to the Police Station putting his Helmet on before entering.
"I read their rap sheets.
Zaheer is the leader and a Master Martial Artist. He knows multiple Martial Arts and can use them to rival any Elemental Bender. I'll probably save him for last."
"Why."
"The best way to break a leader is to break his men first."
"I'm beginning to think that you have issues."
"So many issues. Next is P'Li. She's a Fire Bender who can Combustion Bend. I think that I'll start with her."
"Why her?"
"She'll be the easiest to break. If she loves her Combustion Bending so much, then she'll talk fast."
"You know where she is?"
"The North Pole. I'll have to sneak in and break her before they notice."
"Okay."
"Next will be Ming-Hua. She's being held in a Volcano to keep her from Water Bending."
"And how are you going to get her to talk? You know on second thought I don't want to know."
"Yeah. You probably don't. Plus, that way you have plausible deniability. Next is Ghazan. He will be the most difficult to track down because he's on a boat and everything, but I'll find him and break him. Then I'll move onto Zaheer."
"Okay. Then what?"
"Then I come back here and take a long ass vacation to try and forget how horrible of a person I am."
"You don't have to do this you know."
"Yes, I do. These people want to kill a girl I met just this morning and my siblings really like. I'm going to break them and rip the information out of them so they can't hurt anyone ever again."
"Remind me to never get on your bad side."
"Never get on my bad side."
"Smart ass."
"I've got an airship to catch, but if you run into Halo of the Agni Kai's can you take her to my house?"
"What? Why?"
"Can you just do it as a favor to me?"
"Fine."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now get out of here."
Jason left the building and walked up the boarding ramp into the airship.
Four months later.
Jason walked down the airship ramp and into Beifong's office, him and the crew singing Indestructible by Disturbed.
"Were you able to get anything?" Beifong asked as he walked in
"Hey. How are you doing? It's been a while. Do you want a drink?"
"Hello Red hood."
"Hey chief. It's good to be back."
"Were you able to get anything?"
"Yeah."
"What were you able to get?"
"They want to end the Avatar cycle and plunge the world into chaos."
"Why?"
"Because disorder is the natural order."
"I'll debrief you now."
"Okay, but it gets pretty dark."
"I can handle it."
P'Li
Jason walked through the North Pole, using his Fire Bending to keep himself warm.
The black flames against the storm he was using for cover gave off an ethereal glow.
He walked up behind the guards standing guard over the prison and knocked them out before walking into the prison, traveling into the darkest depths of the prison until he came to a single the cell.
"D-did you come to t-talk to me a-again?" A female voice asked.
"No. I came to get information, and you're going to give it to me."
"Heh, heh. G-good luck. They h-have tried t-to break me for the l-last thirteen years. W-what makes you th-think you can break me?"
Jason used Metal Bending to bend the helmet she was wearing inward causing it to cut into her forehead.
"AHH! What are you doing!"
"Tell me what I want to know, and I won't take your Combustion Bending."
"You wouldn't!"
Jason bent the helmet farther up.
"Try me."
P'Li cried out in pain as the metal cut into her forehead.
"All right I'll talk!" P'Li yelled.
"Yes. Yes, you will."
"We are trying to return the world to its natural order."
"Why?"
"The world is chaotic. The Avatar is the bringer of Chaos."
"And you want to kill the Avatar why?"
"If we end the Avatar cycle then the world will go back to its natural order."
"Is that all?"
"Yes."
Jason used his Metal Bending to scalp P'Li.
P'Li was screaming in agony when Jason left with her scalp and Combustion Bending tattoo in hand.
He made his way out of the prison and went back to the airship.
"Red Hood." An officer tipped his head.
"Takko."
Jason nodded.
"Did you get the information you needed?"
"Some of it."
"Where to next?"
"The fire nation. Ming-Hua is being held in a volcano."
"What will you need?"
"Bring me the box from storage."
"Very well."
Jason began humming a song.
Beifong shuddered. "Why the hell did you rip her scalp off!"
"I needed to know if there was anything else, she wasn't telling me."
"So, you scalped her and left her in agonizing pain!"
"Aww. Look at you, caring for the enemy."
"I'm not a sadist!"
"You wanted me to get the information by any means necessary. I did."
Beifong rubbed her forehead. "Continue."
Ming-Hua
Jason made his way into the Volcano knocking the guards out.
"Sorry guys, but you can't see what I'm doing."
"Hello?" A feminine voice called out.
"I take it that you're Ming-Hua?"
"Who wants to know?"
"Someone interested in killing the Avatar."
"Then yes. I am Ming-Hua."
Jason walked up to a cage dangling over the magma.
"You're not who I expected." She spoke.
"Good."
Jason said using his Blood Bending to hold Ming-Hua in the air.
"What... are you... doing?" She bit out in pain.
"Why do you want to kill the Avatar?"
"Why... do you?"
"Therein lies the problem. You thought I wanted to kill the Avatar."
"But..."
"You assumed I wanted to kill the Avatar, but I was really interested in others who wanted the Avatar dead."
"You... bastard!"
"I'll give you three chances to tell me why you want the Avatar dead. After the third chance..."
"Fuck you!"
"No thank you. Now. Why do you want to kill the Avatar?"
"Go to hell!"
Jason jumped onto the cage and opened it before dropping a box inside with a clatter of metal.
Ming-Hua glared at him.
Jason took a knife out of his boot and cut the seams of Ming-Hua's kimono letting the fabric fall to the floor.
Ming-Hua looked at him in confusion.
"Tell me why you want to kill the Avatar."
Ming-Hua spit at him, but he deflected it and pulled the nails out of the box letting a suit of armor float into the air.
"Tell me something."
He said as he put the armor on her unprotected body.
"Have you ever heard of the torture technique of welding someone into a suit of armor or a mask to their face? Any of that ring a bell?"
Ming-Hua shuddered as the cold metal touched her bare skin. "No."
"I see. Tell me why you want to kill the Avatar, or you will experience it firsthand."
She roared at him in rage.
Jason put the helmet on her head, grabbed the scraps of her kimono, climbed out of the cage, and jumped to the ground.
"Last chance to tell me why you want to kill the Avatar."
"If I do will you let me go?"
"Yes."
"We want to restore balance to the world."
"By killing the one keeping it in Balance?"
"No. The Avatar is keeping the world shrouded in chaos. The natural order is disorder."
"I see. So, you were going to kill a child to bring the world back to its natural order?"
"A small price to pay for salvation." Ming-Hua quoted.
Jason clenched his fists and heat began flowing in front of him distorting the air in front of him.
"What are you doing?" Ming-Hua asked. "You said that you would let me go!"
"You have my permission to die."
Jason said before he sent the heat towards Ming-Hua.
She shrieked in agony as the metal of the suit heated quickly.
Jason walked out leaving her in her agony. The last thing he did before walking out was rip the chain holding her in the air and letting it drop into the magma below.
A guard woke as Ming-Hua's cell dropped with her agonized yells.
He ran to the edge and saw the cell hit the magma.
Ming-Hua's screams intensified for a few agonizing seconds before she fell silent.
"Holy shit!" The guard yelled. "Call Lord Zuko!"
Jason made his way to the airship.
"Red Hood." Takko said.
"Takko."
"Where to next?"
"We need to fly over the oceans to see if we can find the prison boat holding Ghazan."
"Okay. Will you be needing anything?"
"No. Ghazan is an Earth and a Lava Bender. I'll only need my Water Bending."
"All right."
Jason began humming.
"What's that song you're humming?" Takko asked.
Jason smiled under his helmet.
"Let me teach you the words."
"I can't believe you did that!" Beifong yelled.
"Got you the information you wanted?"
"NO! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU TORTURED HER BEFORE DROPPING HER INTO A VOLCANO!"
"You told me that as long as I got you the information you didn't care how I did it, and I did! Now you are mad that I got you the information?"
"I didn't think you were going to resort to this level of torture!"
"THEY WANTED TO KIDNAP AND MURDER A CHILD! I DIDN'T THINK I HAD TO PROP UP SOME PILLOWS FOR THEM!"
Beifong wiped her face and glared at Jason. "First off. You will not take that tone with me, and second. I should have specified what I meant. I didn't think you were going to resort to that level of torture."
"Understood. Now. Do you want to know what I did to Ghazan?"
"I don't have much choice."
"If it helps Ghazan's death isn't as violent as the others."
"Very well."
Jason and Takko were singing 'Indestructible' by Disturbed when another officer came into the room.
"We found the boat." Viddas said.
"Good work Viddas."
Jason said walking to the ramp.
The lamp lowered and Jason dove off the edge and towards the boat.
The guard on watch looked up into the sky. "Intruder!" He yelled.
The White Lotus guards began Water Bending up at the intruder falling from the sky towards them.
The intruder flipped midair and landed on the boat before rolling to his feet.
"Officers."
The intruder said.
"Who are you?" A White Lotus member asked.
"Me? I'm the interrogation specialist you requested."
"I don't remember asking for an interrogation specialist."
"It was kept on the down low so that I could do my job in silence. The last thing you want is..."
"I think not!" A voice boomed from overhead.
Everyone looked up and saw...
"Fire Lord Zuko!" A White Lotus Guard yelled.
Jason looked up and saw a dragon.
"Is that a dragon! I want a dragon! How do I get one?"
Fire Lord Zuko jumped down and landed on the deck of the ship. "Explain who you are and what you are doing here!" Fire Lord Zuko Demanded.
Jason handed him some paperwork.
"I am an interrogation specialist. As for what I am doing here, well. I'd say that I'm doing my job."
Zuko read through the paperwork. "Follow me."
Jason followed Zuko to the front of the ship.
"Why did Lin send you?"
"She asked if I would work for her, and that she wanted me to try getting information from the four individuals who tried killing the Avatar."
"And you did this through cruel and inhumane methods."
"What is it with you high and mighty types thinking that you have to prop pillows up for monsters? They tried killing a child for fucks sake!"
"They what?"
"Yeah. Their plan was to find the Avatar when she was young, force her into the Avatar state, Whatever the hell that is, and kill her to effectively end the Avatar cycle."
"But that would..."
"Throw the world into Chaos? Yeah. Except they think that Chaos is the natural order."
"Were you going to Interrogate the others?"
"Yes. To see if they have any more information, they can give me."
"I do not like needless torture."
"Believe me. If I could just ask them nicely and get the information I would, but I can't. It has to be this way, and after I'm done. I'm taking a long vacation."
Zuko looked at the armor-clad man. "What is your name?" He asked.
"Me? My name is Red Hood."
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Hood, but I was referring to your real name."
Jason looked at him in shock under the helmet.
"My name is Jason Todd."
"Very well Mr. Todd. I will stay and watch your interrogation."
"Fine."
Jason said walking towards Ghazan.
"Get chewed out by the boss?" Ghazan asked.
"Something like that. I want some answers, and if you can give them to me willingly, I would appreciate it."
He took out P'Li's scalp and Ming' Hua's Kimono.
"What have you done?" Ghazan asked in horror. "What did you do?"
"They made me dig for the answers. P'Li is still alive, but she won't be able to Combustion Bend again. Ming' Hua on the other hand."
"NO!"
"Which one was it?"
Jason asked.
"Ming' Hua." Ghazan sobbed.
"Did you know that you were going to kill a child just to satisfy your own needs?"
"We were trying to put this world back on track. We were trying to save it."
"By killing a child!"
"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
Jason glared at Ghazan.
"Are you so deluded that you actually believe killing children is for the betterment of mankind?"
"What would you do to protect mankind from destruction?"
Jason Water Bent a water blade and cut Ghazan's head off sending a geyser of blood into the air.
"That!"
He snarled.
He picked up Ghazan's head and wrapped it in Ming' Hua's Kimono, and put it in his bag.
He turned to look at the White Lotus guards and Zuko. All of whom were stunned into silence by his brutality.
"I'll be heading to Zaheer's prison next."
He said before creating a staircase to the airship with water.
"Why are you doing this?" Lord Zuko asked.
Jason turned to look at Lord Zuko.
"Because. The Avatar is my sibling's babysitter."
He said before walking the rest of the way up.
Lin Beifong pinched the bridge of her nose. "I can't believe you did that in front of Fire Lord Zuko."
"What do you mean?"
"You killed a man in front of him! Then you told him this was because they tried killing your babysitter!"
"Yeah. I just said that."
Lin snorted. "What happened next?"
Jason, Takko, and Viddas were on the Bridge singing "Invincible" by Disturbed.
Another mission.
The powers have called me away
Another time to carry the colors again
My motivation
An oath I've sworn to defend
To win the honor of coming back home again
No explanation will matter after we begin
Unlock the dark destroyer that's buried within
My true vocation and now my unfortunate friend
You will discover a war you're unable to win
I'll have you know
That I've become
Indestructible
Determination that is incorruptible
From the other side
A terror to behold
Annihilation will be unavoidable
Every broken enemy will know
That their opponent had to be invincible
Take a last look around while you're alive
I'm an indestructible master of war
Another reason
Another cause for me to fight
Another fuse uncovered now for me to light
My dedication to all that I've sworn to protect
I carry out my orders without a regret
My declaration embedded deep under the skin
A permanent reminder of how it began
No hesitation when I am commanded to strike
You need to know that you're in for the fight of your life
You will be shown
How I've become
Indestructible
Determination that is incorruptible
From the other side, a terror to behold
Annihilation will be unavoidable
Every broken enemy will know
That their opponent had to be invincible
Take a last look around while you're alive
I'm an indestructible master of war
I'm indestructible
Determination that is incorruptible
From the other side, a terror to behold
Annihilation will be unavoidable
Every broken enemy will know
That their opponent had to be invincible
Take a last look around while you're alive
I am indestructible (indestructible)
Indestructible
Determination that is incorruptible
From the other side, a terror to behold
Annihilation will be unavoidable
Every broken enemy will know
That their opponent had to be invincible
Take a last look around while you're alive
I'm an indestructible master of war
"That was great, guys."
Jason said.
"We need to get the entire crew to sing this song. While I'm talking to our next target make sure that you teach them the words. I want to sing this as we are walking down the ramp when we get home."
"Okay." Takko said.
When they arrived at the cliff side Jason walked to the edge of the ramp before he jumped off and used his grapple to get to the prison.
When he landed, he used earth bending to open the prison.
"Did you forget something?" A voice asked from inside the cave.
Jason tossed Ming' Hua's Kimono into the cave and Ghazan's head rolled out hitting the gate separating Zaheer.
"What did you do?!" Zaheer yelled.
"Tell me why you wanted to kill the Avatar?"
"Why did you kill them!"
Jason tossed P'Li's scalp at him.
"Noo!" Zaheer yelled.
"You might as well tell me."
Jason said.
"They already told me everything."
"When I get out of here..." Zaheer growled.
"But you won't."
Jason said Blood Bending Zaheer into the air. Using Earth Bending, he opened holes in the ground before lowering him into the ground before closing the ground around his legs. He moved Zaheer's arms back and opened the wall before putting Zaheer's arms in the wall and closing it around him.
"There. That should hold you."
"What more can you do to me!" Zaheer snapped.
"This."
Jason said using Metal Bending to take a piece of his armor, and mold it into the Bat Symbol that he wore on his chest.
He held the metal in his hand and Super-heated it with his black flames until it glowed white hot.
"With this brand I mark you as an enemy of the Avatar so that everyone will know what you've done."
He pressed the super-heated metal into Zaheer's chest ripping an agonized scream from the man's lungs.
He pulled the brand from Zaheer's chest showing the cauterized wound.
Jason walked out of the prison and looked back.
"One more thing."
He spoke.
Zaheer looked up panting.
Jason crushed the floor and wall holding Zaheer, causing him to pass out when his arms and legs were crushed.
Jason closed the prison, leaving Zaheer until the guards came back.
"You... did... WHAT!" Beifong yelled.
"I got you your information."
"THROUGH TORTURE AND CRUELTY!"
"You did say by whatever means necessary."
"I thought you knew that torture was off the table after Fire Lord Zuko talked to you!"
"Um. What world do you live in where 'Any means necessary... but torture.' Is a thing?" THIS WORLD!"
"Maybe next time you should specify that."
"Apparently I need to specify all of your instructions!"
"Quick question."
"What!"
"What did you think of our performance coming down the ramp? I thought we were a little off, but I mean...""Get out!" Beifong whispered harshly.
"Okay. Whatever you do, don't call me for at least six months. I need time to come to terms with what I did."
Beifong realized that Jason really didn't do this because he wanted to. He did it because it was a necessary evil, and he would rather stain his soul then let someone else do it.
"Wait." She spoke. "There are a few things you need to know."
"Really? Like what?"
"First off Korra is on the Fire Ferrets Pro Bending Team. Second, there have been some issues with non-Benders. Now. Before I tell you the third thing you need to let me finish before you run off."
"What happened?"
"About a week after you left the Triads were attacked. Korra got caught up with them when the Triple-Threats were targeted, but the others were also targeted. Including the Agni Kai's."
"What!"
"Halo showed up and I sent her to your house. That's where she's been since."
Jason took off in the direction of his house.
"What the hell! Why am I running to her! Do I still care about her? What the hell!"
He launched a grapple up to a building and flung himself into the sky.
He arrived at his house and ran in.
"Hello!"
He yelled.
A kid slid into the front room and looked up at him with his fists raised.
"Azin?"
He asked.
"Jason?" Azin asked.
Jason took his helmet off. "Yeah. It's me."
"Baani!" Azin yelled. "Jason's home!"
A girl came barreling past Azin and into Jason. "Did you miss us!" Baani yelled.
"Yeah." Jason said. "I missed you guys."
"Good. Cause we missed you."
"Where's Korra?" He asked.
"She's over at the Airbender temple. She's practicing Air bending."
"Wait, wait, wait. She left you here alone?"
"No." Azin said. "Miss Halo is here with us."
"Where is she?"
"I'll show you." Baani said grabbing Jason's hand and taking him upstairs.
Baani took Jason to his room and opened the door.
Inside Jason saw a very pregnant Halo.
"Hello Jason." She spoke.
"Baani." Jason said. "You and Azin go to one of your rooms and stay there. Don't come out no matter what you hear."
"Um. Okay." Baani said.
"Slam your door so I know you guys are in there."
"Okay."
Jason and Halo looked at each other until they heard a door slam.
"Jason I..."
"Shut up!" Jason snarled.
"Wh-What?"
"Get up!"
She looked up at him startled.
"Did I stutter? Get up!"
"Okay. Okay." Halo said, struggling to getting up.
When she was up, she looked up at Jason. The compassion she had admired him from their first encounter was gone. In its place was darkness. "Jason. What happened to you?"
"This isn't about me; this is about you."
"What is it?"
"I spent the last four months being the monster that I keep locked away. I don't want to be that guy anymore. If you want thus to work, then you need to know that there will be day that I will be made. Really those days I will probably just ignore you until I am no longer mad at you."
"Okay." Halo said wiping away some tears.
Jason looked at her and held his arms out. "I'm sorry for what happened to your father."
Halo walked into Jason's embrace and sighed when she felt his strength and warmth.
Jason breathed in her scent. 'Am I crazy for doing this?'
Halo put a hand on his chest.
"I need to take care of Azin and Baani."
"I understand."
Jason walked down the hall to Azin's room and knocked on the door. "Azin? Baani? Are you in there?"
Azin opened the door.
"Is everything okay?" Baani asked.
"Yeah. I just needed to talk to Halo."
"That was kind of loud."
"Yeah. Get ready to go. We are going out."
"Okay." Baani said.
Azin looked at him. "There's a story behind that Conversation."
"Yeah. Make sure that you don't exhaust yourself in a fight or you might end up in my situation."
Azin looked at him. "Did you lose a bet with her?"
"I wish. I went to fight the Agni Kai Triad, but overestimated my skills, and she ended up convincing her father to let me live in exchange for a child."
Azin's eyes went wide. "That's why she's..."
"Yeah."
"Oh."
"Yeah. Go get ready."
The siblings left the house.
"Okay." Jason said. "Where do you guys want to go?"
"I want Takoyaki!" Baani yelled.
"What do you want Azin?"
"I want Katsudon."
"Okay. Let's go."
They walked around town and got Takoyaki for Baani, Katsudon for Azin, and Jason got Pork Raman.
They stopped to eat in a park.
"Will you tell us what you did while you were gone?" Baani asked.
"No." Jason said flatly.
"What! Why not?"
"Because. It wasn't very nice."
"Okay."
They were looking up at the sky cloud watching.
"That one looks like a platypus-bear." Baani said pointing at a Cloud
"That one looks like a turtle-duck." Azin said pointing at another cloud.
"That one looks like a car." Jason pointed at a third cloud.
"Do you mean a Sato mobile?" Azin asked. "Hectic so that looks nothing like a Sato mobile."
The laid in the grass for a few Minutes until Jason got up. "Let's go guys."
"Can we go see a Pro Bending match?" Baani asked.
"This weekend." Jason said.
"Do we have to wait that long?" She whined.
"unfortunately, yes. That's when the next game is."
"Okay."
"Want to get ice cream?" Jason asked.
"Yeah!"
They walked to an ice cream vendor.
"Okay. What do you want?"
"Strawberry swirl!" Baani yelled.
"Peanut butter hazelnut." Azin said.
"Triple chocolate." Jason said. "What do you guys think Halo will want?"
"Neapolitan. " Azin said.
Jason paid for the ice cream and wrapped Halo's ice cream in an icy mist.
"What should we get her for dinner?"
"She likes noodles." Azin said.
"Okay. From where?"
"There's a noodle stand next to the house."
"Okay. Lead the way."
They walked back to the house and were almost there when Korra came running up to them.
"Jason!" She yelled.
"Yes. Nice to see you too."
"When did you get back?"
"Earlier today."
"Oh. Okay."
"Are you blushing?" Jason asked.
Korra covered her face. "No."
"Korra likes you." Baani said.
Korra's face contorted in embarrassment. "What!"
"Hm." Jason thought.
Korra went beet red at his look.
"Sorry Korra." Jason said.
"Jason is already with Halo." Baani said.
It was Jason's turn for his face to contort in embarrassment.
"No, he's not." Azin said. "He just lost a bet with her."
'What the fuck!' Jason thought. 'I am a notorious Anti-Hero yet one year in this world changes that! What the fuck!'
He looked at Korra and saw her blushing. "You lost a bet to her?"
"No! I fought her, and technically lost because I passed out from over working myself, and when I woke up... that happened. She said that it was the only way to keep me alive."
Korra's blush deepened.
"Quit thinking like that!" Jason yelled.
"Thinking like what?" Baani asked.
"Nothing!" The other three yelled in unison.
"We should get back home." Jason said.
They walked to the noodle stand and walked home.
When they got home, Jason took Halo her food and ice cream.
"Halo." He said walking into the room. "We brought you food."
"Thank you." She said reaching for the food.
Jason handed her the noodles and put the ice cream next to her.
"Thank you." She spoke.
"You're welcome."
"I know that I don't really deserve it." Halo said. "But do you maybe want to..."
"No. At least not right now. It will take a while before we get to that level of a relationship."
"I understand."
"But we can start right now."
"I'd like the chance to start over. My name is Halo. I'm a member of the Agni Kai Triad. I am the daughter of Zirra the Leader of the Agni Kai. I am 21 years old. My favorite food is Pork Raman."
"Hello Halo. My name is Jason. I am an undercover cop. I'm not from Republic City. I'm 27 years old. and my favorite food from Republic City is Pork Raman."
Halo began eating her ice cream.
"Do you like Neapolitan ice cream?"
"Triple chocolate is my first choice, but Neapolitan is in my top five favorite flavors."
"Okay. I'll remember that next time."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
There was a knock on the door.
Jason got up and walked to the door.
He opened it and saw Korra standing in the hallway.
"Oh. Jason. Hi."
"Hello Korra."
"Could I talk with Halo?"
"Yeah." Jason said leaving the room.
"What can I do for you?" Halo asked.
"Um. I was dating someone, but now they are dating someone else, and I don't know what to do."
"Well. I'm not the best person to ask."
"Jason said that you two have a complicated relationship."
"That's putting it mildly."
"Well, what do I do?"
"As I see it, you have three options.
A) you can swoop in and take your ex's date right from under their nose.
B) you can start dating someone better than your ex in an attempt to make them Jealous.
Or C) you can just say fuck 'em and move on with your life."
"Hm." Korra thought." I've never thought of dating a girl before."
"So, you're going to steal your ex's girlfriend?"
"I don't know. What's Jason like?"
"Under the covers or as a fighter?"
Korra blushed at that. "Both I guess."
"Well. As a fighter he's on a whole other level. He has this Aura about him that sends shivers up his opponent's spines, except for me. It both terrified and aroused me making me wet."
Korra blushed bright red.
"The way he fights is... words can't describe how he fights. He fights with a ferocity and determination that I haven't seen before."
Korra didn't realize it, but her heart was racing.
"He also has this compassion and kindness that made his rough exterior seem all the more charming."
"When did..." Korra pointed at Halo's stomach.
"This?" Halo asked rubbing her hands over her stomach, feeling the child inside kick. "That night. My father came out of the house and told the others to kill him and string him up as a warning of what happens if you mess with the Agni Kai Triad, but I convinced him not to."
"How?"
"I told my father that if we gave him something to protect..." She nodded down to her stomach. "... then he would be on our side when we needed him."
"So, what did you do?"
"I had some of the men take him to one of our spare houses, stripped him naked, tied him to the bed, and had my way with him."
Korra blushed so red that she thought her nose was going to bleed.
"Was it not what you were expecting?"
"Not really."
"If I could do it over I would. I would explain the situation to him and try to get his consent first."
"Why?"
"The sex was amazing. I can only imagine what it would have been like if he was into it."
This made Korra's blush only deepen.
"Want me to show you something Korra?"
"What?"
"Come here."
Korra walked over to Halo.
"Come down here." Halo said.
Korra bent down to Halo's level.
Halo leaned into Korra and kissed her on the lips.
Korra was frozen in shock by what Halo did that she didn't move until she felt something brush against the roof of her mouth.
She pulled away from Halo only to see a string of saliva connecting them.
"Well?" Halo asked. "What did you think?"
"I think... Korra began. " I think I have to go." She spoke.
Halo smiled a smug smile. 'I love catching them off guard like that.' She thought.
Korra ran to her room in the house. What were these feelings racing inside her?
She ran into Jason on the way to her room.
"Whoa." Jason said. "Where's the fire?"
"I need to get to my room." Korra said trying to keep her voice calm.
"Okay. Did Halo say something that upset you?"
"Not really. I just need to take care of something." Korra said feeling like she was on fire.
"Okay." Jason said walking past her to Halo's room.
Korra ran into her room and jumped on her bed before covering her face with her pillow and worked herself to an orgasm.
Jason walked into Halo's room. "Care to explain why Korra just ran to her room?"
"She came to me for some dating advice, and I gave it to her."
"What would you know about dating?"
"I'll have you know that before you I had multiple lovers."
"Tying someone down while they are unconscious and fucking them does not make them a lover."
"Let's play the hypothetical game. Had I left you untied what would you have done?"
"Probably left."
"Then my father would have had you killed."
"There is that possibility."
"Let's say I asked for your consent that night. Would you have said yes?"
"Most likely not."
"Then my father would have had you killed. The only reason you are still alive is because of this child." She said rubbing her hands over her stomach. "Do you want to feel the baby kick?"
Jason looked at her. She had changed. Before she was acting shy, but now. Now she was acting more... aggressive maybe?
"What did you do to..."
They heard a muffled scream of pleasure coming from down the hall.
Jason turned to leave.
"I wouldn't go there if I were you. Otherwise, you might end up siring another child."
"What did you do?"
"I told you, I gave her some advice. I may have also aroused her a little."
"Seriously?"
"Yes. It seems that she was dating someone, but now they are dating someone else, and she wanted to know how to handle it. I told her to either steal the girl, date someone who would make her ex jealous, or to say fuck 'em and get on with life."
"Is that all?"
"I may have also kissed her when she said that she hadn't thought about dating a girl before."
Jason wiped his face. "Fuck you." He said walking out of the room.
"You already did." She called after him. "I have proof."
Azin and Baani were outside Korra's room when Jason walked up.
"Go back to your rooms." Jason told them. "I'll take care of Korra."
"Okay." Azin said taking Baani's hand.
Jason waited until they were gone before he went to his own room. That wasn't his place to say anything.
The next morning
Jason walked out back to go through a training Kata to train his Bending.
He saw Korra outside.
"Hey." He said startling her.
"Oh. Hey."
"I'm sorry about Halo."
"Oh. Its fine." She spoke.
"Want to talk about what happened while I was gone?"
"Well. After you left, I joined the Fire Ferrets. I took Azin and Baani with me to every practice and every game, so they weren't alone."
Jason nodded at her to continue.
"After a while I started hanging out with one of my teammates, but I sort of got pulled into this task force to help fight this leader of this group called Equalists. He has the ability to take a person's Bending away."
"How did you find this out?"
"My other teammate was taken away with the Triple-Threats Triad. Mako, the guy that I dated for a bit, chased after them and found their meeting place before saving his brother."
"Did you guys get hurt?"
"No, but this guy on the City council convinced me to join his task force, and we were doing Okay until I challenged the leader of the Equalists to a fight."
"What happened?"
"It was a trap. He didn't take my Bending away, but I was so scared."
"I'd call you an idiot if you weren't."
"That's when she came into the picture."
"Who's she?"
"Asami." Korra spat the name like it was something vile.
"So, what happened?"
"She came in and took Mako, and last game we almost lost because of it. She sponsored the Team, and now Mako loves her."
"So." Jason said. "Who gives a fuck what Mako does. He is just using you to satisfy some need. He'll probably do the same thing to Asami. You need someone who will give you the attention that you deserve without taking advantage of you or your emotions."
"Like whom?"
"I don't know, but I'm sure you will find them."
"Could that be you?"
"What?"
"Could you be that person?"
"I won't date a minor."
"I'm 19!"
"Oh. Well then... Why me?"
"Well." Korra said tapping her index fingers together. "When I first arrived in Republic City you were the first person who was nice to me."
"That's... not a good enough reason. I'm practically a stranger to you."
"I was pretty much isolated at the south pole for my entire life, and when I came here, I had no idea what to do. Then you showed up and made everything better almost instantly. I went to Air Temple Island and the first thing that Tenzin says is 'Go Home.' And you come to the rescue again. I mean sure you told me that I have to watch your siblings while you're gone, but I was willing to do that. You offered me a place in this hectic world, and it means the world to me."
Jason stayed quiet for several minutes before speaking again. "I think you deserve to know why I left."
"Okay. Why?"
"When you were young you almost got kidnapped."
"What?" Korra asked shocked.
"Yeah. They were going to kill you to end the Avatar cycle."
"What? Why?"
"They wanted to put the world back to where it belonged."
"By killing me!"
"Yeah. They said that the natural order is disorder, and the Avatar caused Chaos."
"What! No, I don't!"
"I know. I took care of them."
Korra put her hands on her head and fell to her knees.
Jason sat down next to her. "Korra. They can't hurt you anymore. You're okay."
"But they tried to kill me!"
"But they didn't."
"You wouldn't be this calm if you just found out you were almost kidnapped and killed!"
"You'd be surprised. I know more than you think."
"How would you know?"
"I was kidnapped, beaten within an inch of my life, blown to hell, crawled out of hell, trained for five years, took revenge, became an Anti-Hero, killed a man, got into a fight with my adoptive father, and ended up here. That's how I would know."
Korra looked shocked. "What?"
"You probably thought I was just another pair of blue eyes, didn't you?"
"Are you lying?"
"No. I am not lying."
Korra looked up at him.
They stayed like that for several minutes.
"Jason!" Baani yelled. "I'm hungry."
"Let's go in." Jason said. "I'll make breakfast."
They walked back inside the house and Jason began making breakfast.
He made pancakes, bacon, eggs, And toast.
"Oh wow." Korra said. "This is amazing."
Banni was looking at Korra. "Are you okay?" She asked.
" do you ask?"
"Last night you screamed. People only scream when they are hurt."
Korra blushed, and Jason coughed.
"Yes. I'm okay." Korra said.
"Why did you scream?"
Korra blushed brighter. "Um."
"Whoa!" Jason Exclaimed. "Look at the time. I have some errands to run, and Korra has to get over to Air Temple Island for Tenzin's training."
"Smooth." Azin said trying to hide a smile behind a coffee cup.
Saturday morning.
Korra came running into the house with two others behind her.
"Hi Korra." Baani said.
"Hey Baani. Is Jason here?"
"He's in the shower."
Korra found herself daydreaming about Jason walking out of the shower dripping wet before using his fire bending to dry off and caught herself blushing.
"Korra?" Baani asked. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Korra said, snapping out of the daydream.
"Have you guys been listening to the radio?"
"No. We were just outside practicing our Bending. We came in a while ago. Then I showered, Azin Showered, and then Jason got in the shower."
"How long has Jason been in the shower?"
"Maybe ten minutes."
"No." Jason said walking down the stairs in a pair of black slacks, a white unbuttoned dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. "I took a five-minute shower and took five minutes to get dressed. What's up?"
"Have you heard the news?" Mako asked.
"No." Jason said looking at Mako with eyes that seemed to look into his very soul and find all of his secrets. "What news?"
"Amon just told the council to shut down the Bending arena or he will."
"Let's go talk to the council then." Jason said rolling his sleeves down, buttoning up his shirt and tucking it in, and bending his armor around him.
"Whoa!" A huskier guy next to Mako said. "So cool!"
"Let's go."
Jason said.
"Baani. Do you think you guys will be okay with Halo?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. I'll be back in a little while."
"Can you bring home food?"
"Yeah. What do you want to eat?"
"Takoyaki! Takoyaki!"
"Okay. Hey! Azin! What do you want to eat!?"
"Katsudon! " Azin yelled back.
"Okay! I'll be back in a while. Tell Halo that I'll bring her back some Pork Raman!"
"Okay!"
The group left the house and took off towards the council.
When they arrived at the council room, they barged in.
"What is the meaning of this!" A man with three ponytails demanded.
"Korra!" A man with a sky-blue arrow on his forehead said. "This is closed meeting..."
"No! I am asking you as both the Avatar and an athlete. Don't shut down the arena."
"Yeah!" Mako yelled. "The arena isn't just for Benders, but non-Benders too."
"I'm sorry." The man with Arrow said. "But it's too dangerous."
"No."
Jason said.
"You are falling into Azin's trap."
"No matter what we do we are trapped!" Ponytails said.
"Wrong!" The door opened up to show Lin walking in. "If you let the finals happen my officers and I will offer protection. The Chi Blockers can't get through our armor."
"What if they can produce electricity somehow?"
Jason asked.
"Metal conducts electricity like nobody's business."
"Impossible." Ponytails said. "There is no way that they could have that technology."
"Actually, they do!" Mako yelled. "They have this guy with Kali sticks that produce electricity.
Jason thought about a little blue bird with electric Escrima sticks.
"That's a risk we will take." Lin said. "We don't have anything that can stop electricity."
"I'll be there too."
Jason said.
"I hardly see how you will make that big of a difference." Ponytails said.
"Trust me." Lin said. "If anyone will make a difference it will be Red Hood. If this fails, I'll resign."
"Very well." Ponytails said.
Jason walked out of the Council chambers and walked towards a food stand.
"I need Takoyaki, Katsudon, and two Pork Raman."
He told the Vendor.
"Coming right up." The Vendor replied.
As he was waiting for his order Korra, Mako, and the other guy came up.
"Are you guys hungry?"
He asked.
"I could eat." The other guy said.
"I'm sorry."
Jason said.
"What's your name?"
"Oh. I'm Bolin. This is my brother Mako."
"Okay Bolin. Order up guys."
"Aren't you going to ask my name?" Mako asked.
"No. I already know your name."
"What? How?"
"You look like the guy Korra described."
Korra blushed.
"Oh." Mako said feeling dread rise in his stomach.
"She said that you are a good fire Bender."
Mako and Korra let out a relieved breath.
They ordered and headed back to the house.
Korra, Mako, Bolin, Baani, and Azin sat down in the front room and ate while Jason took his and Halo's food up to Halo's room.
"Hello." Halo said when he walked in.
"Hey." He said Bending his helmet back.
"Are you still mad at me for messing with Korra?"
"Why did you do it?"
"I find Korra attractive. If I weren't pregnant, I would have tried taking it farther."
Jason didn't know what to say.
"Does my swinging both ways make you uncomfortable?"
"Not the way you think." Jason said crossing his right leg over his left.
"I see." Halo said winking at him. "Maybe You, Korra, and I could have some fun after the baby is born."
Jason coughed.
Halo laughed. "You're cute when you're flustered."
Jason ate a bite of noodles.
Halo took a bite. "So. Do you think we could have had a normal relationship if I would have explained what the situation was?"
Jason thought about that. "Maybe. Knowing that it was that or dying... I don't know. Technically you did it to save my life, but it was still against my will, and the last time someone knocked me out and I woke up tied up, I died."
Halo went pale. "I had no idea."
"That's why you don't do stupid shit like that."
"How are you still alive if you died?"
"A pool of mystic water brought me back angry and bitter until I found a better way."
They finished eating and Jason took their bowls downstairs.
"...nuh uh." Bolin was saying to Baani.
"Uh huh." Baani said. "Sand Bending is way more useful than Lava Bending. You can create a Sandstorm to hide and attack from the shadows."
"But if you can Lava Bend then you can stop a Sand Bender."
"A Sand Bender can blind you and bury you alive."
"But a Lava Bender can melt you."
"You're both wrong." Jason said. "Sand Benders and Lava Benders are sub type Benders of Earth Benders. They would work together."
Baani and Bolin looked at each other.
"Each Element has multiple types of Bending. Earth Bending has Earth Bending, Metal Bending, Sand Bending, and Lava Bending. Fire Bending has Fire Bending and Lightning Bending. Water Bending has Water Bending and Blood Bending. And Air Bending has Air bending."
"Blood Bending is illegal." Baani said.
"But it's still a Bending style."
"Are we going to watch the Pro Bending finals tonight?" Azin asked.
"I want you two to stay home with Halo tonight." Jason said. "You guys can listen to it on the radio, but because of Amon I don't want you guys getting hurt."
"Okay." Baani signed.
"Hey." Jason said dripping to a knee and putting his hand on her shoulder. "I know that you guys really wanted to go see the finals, and I would let you go if there wasn't a real threat."
"I know."
Jason looked over at Azin who nodded at him.
"Now." Jason said. "Who wants to play hide and seek."
"Me! Me! Me!" Baani yelled jumping up and down.
"Baani's it!" Azin yelled before running to hide.
Everyone scattered leaving Baani standing in the living room.
"Fine." Baani said. "One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Ready or not here I come."
That night.
Jason walked through the arena looking for anything that of place.
"Is everything in place?"
A man asked.
"Yes." Another said.
"Good..."
"Excuse me gentlemen."
Jason said walking up to them. "Do you have authorization to be back here?"
The men held up gloved hands that sparked electricity.
"I'll take that as a no."
He said dropping into a fighting stance."
The first Chi Blocker reached for Jason , but Jason spun out of the way grabbing the Chi Blockers arm and twisting it to the breaking point before bending it to zap the Chi Blocker.
The Chi Blocker fell to the ground, unconscious.
"What did you do!" The second Chi Blocker yelled.
"I took your partner out without Bending. Is that such a foreign concept to you that it blew your microscopic brain?"
"I'll make you pay!" The second Chi Blocker yelled running at him.
Jason wrapped his grapple around the Chi Blockers neck and broke it with a satisfying crunch.
Jason spun around and caught a Kali stick with his hand.
"You're good." The lieutenant said before activating the electricity in the Kali Stick. "But not good enough."
"AAAHHHH!" Jason yelled as Electricity coursed through his body before falling to the ground.
"That should keep you out of our way for a while." The lieutenant said before walking off.
Once Jason was sure that the lieutenant was gone, he stood up. "I'm really glad I decided to coat the inside of my armor in rubber." He spoke.
Jason ran to the seating area in time to see the Wolf Bags cheat their way to victory.
"Ooh." The announcer said. "It's a controversial knockout, but the ref is allowing it!"
"Fuck you ref!"
Jason yelled.
He noticed the Atmosphere in the arena change and turned to see a non-Bender reaching towards him with a glove.
He kicked out at the non-Bender breaking their kneecap, hip, three of their ribs, elbow, and neck.
"Who's next!"
He yelled turning around to see Lin and Tenzin fall.
He used his grapple to wrap around the one who'd shocked Tenzin and break their neck before shooting with the other one to stab through the left side of their chest.
"I'll take you on! I'll take you all on!"
"That won't be necessary." A powerful voice said from the platform.
Jason turned around to see a man wearing a mask on the platform with the Wolf Bats unconscious.
"Who the fuck are you?"
"My name is Amon. I am the leader of the Equalists. My goal is to make everyone, Benders and non-Benders alike, equal."
"Leaving yourself the only Bender in the world?"
I'm not a Bender."
"Bullshit! Your type is always like that! You tell everyone that you want to make the world a better place, but really you just want to be the only one who's special!"
"I am not a Bender. I am here to Equalize the world. No Benders. No non-Benders. Just normal people. No hatred or segregation. Is that too much to ask for?"
"The world you want doesn't exist. You will always have people who think they are better than others! You will always have those who want to kill and enslave others! You can't control that! That's like trying to stop crime! You can't stop Crime, but you can control it!"
"We share similar ideals. I wish to meet you on the battlefield."
Jason jumped over to the arena.
"Fine. I suppose I should thank you for taking care of the Wolf Bats. Saves me the trouble of tracking them down later."
Amon made a hand signal, and his Chi Blockers threw the Wolf Bats into the water below.
Jason stepped into a fighting stance.
Amon stood there, confident in his abilities.
The two ran at each other.
Amon threw a punch that was blocked by Jason's punch.
The two threw punches at each other before Jason swiped at Amon's leg.
Amon jumped over Jason's leg before spinning vertically and kicking at Jason.
Jason rolled out of the way and to his feet before spin kicking at Amon.
"I must say that I am impressed with your skill." Amon complimented.
"As much as I hate to admit it, so are you. Though I will stop you."
"Why are you so determined to stop us?"
"You attacked Korra. I take anyone attacking my friends very personally. You're just lucky you didn't hurt her. Because if you did. I would rip your heart out and crush it."
"You are fiercely loyal to your friends and family."
"Damn straight."
"This has been fun, but it's time for me to leave." Amon said grabbing a rope and rising to the shattered dome.
"No, you don't!"
Jason yelled flinging his grapple at Amon.
A rod came flying through the air, and fouled Jason's grapple.
Jason swung the grapple around and tied it around the closest Chi Blocker and impaled the rod into his chest before flinging the Chi Blocker into the water.
Chi Blockers surrounded Jason and began throwing punches and grabbing his armor to shock him.
"That's enough!"
He yelled disintegrating his armor into metal dust and sending it at the Chi Blockers.
He punched and kicked into the metal dust and knocked some of the Chi Blockers unconscious while killing others.
When the Chi Blockers were taken care of, he reformed his armor, and looked up in time to see Korra falling.
He used Water Bending to pull water into a ball and catch Korra before letting her out on the floor.
"Thank you." Korra coughed.
"Don't mention it."
Lin landed next to them and looked around.
"I don't have an excuse for killing them."
Jason said.
"At least not a good one."
"Get out of here." Lin said. "I'll talk to you tomorrow."
Jason used his grapple to get to the roof and made his way home.
"You can't punish him..." Korra began.
"Did I say I was going to punch him?" Lin interrupted. "No. I told him I would talk to him tomorrow. Right now, I have to clean up this mess."
"Do you want any help?"
"No. This is a police matter. We will take care of it. You better get home too."
Korra walked to the locker room and changed.
As she was walking out, she saw Asami and Mako talking.
She scoffed and walked home.
When she walked into the house, she saw Jason drinking alcohol straight from the bottle.
"Jason?" She asked hesitantly. "Are you..."
"No." Jason said darkly. "No, I am not all right. I get in trouble for not following the rules! I get in trouble for following the rules! What the fuck am I supposed to do!"
Korra walked over and took the bottle from Jason. I think you need to get some sleep.
"Maybe you're right." Jason said getting up and walking upstairs.
Korra grabbed him and helped him up to his room.
He walked go the end of the hall and opened the door to his room.
Korra was shocked. Jason had a sleeping bag on the floor with a few outfits on the windows.
"You sleep here?" she asked.
"Not like I need much." Jason slurred. "Besides. I've slept on the streets before. After that I can survive anything... even death."
"Nope." Korra said walking him out of the room. "You're not sleeping on the floor tonight. Why didn't you buy a bedroom set for yourself?"
"I did, but Halo is using it."
"Why didn't you buy one after you got back?"
"The important people had one."
Korra was shocked. Did Jason really have such a low opinion of himself?
"You're important."
"No, I'm not. I'm just the fuck up that Bruce found on the street. He even told me I was a disgrace to the Bat. I try and play by his rules, but his rules got my dad killed in the first place."
Korra put Jason on her bed.
"My dad only wanted to make a better life for my mom and I, but Bruce's rules got him sent to prison, and then the letters just stopped coming. Maybe he died in that prison."
Korra was horrified by that.
'Oh Jason.' She thought sadly.
Over in the next room Halo had heard everything that Jason had said. A single tear fell from her eye.
Azin had woken up when he'd heard someone stumbling across the hallway and heard everything Jason had said. 'What the fuck!' He thought.

Jason woke up with a Hangover. "Oh." He groaned. "What the fuck happened?" He sat up and reached over before crawling off across the bed. 'Bed?' He asked. 'What am I doing in a bed?' He put his weight down on something soft. 'What is this?' He squeezed whatever it was eliciting a moan from someone. He looked down to see that he was squeezing a breast. "WHAT!" He yelled jumping back, and off the bed. "Ow! Fuck!" He yelled when he hit the floor.
"Jason?" Korra asked.
"Korra?" Jason asked. "First. What the fuck was I doing in a bed? Second. Whose bed, is it? Third. Why were you in the same bed as me? Fourth. Did you do anything to me while I was unconscious?"
"You were drunk last night. It's my bed. It's my bed. And no."
"How does me being drunk end up with me in your bed?"
"You don't remember last night, do you?"
"No. Wait. Did I say anything last night? Did we do anything last night!?"
"No." Korra lied.
Jason sighed. "What did I say, and what did we do?"
"You mentioned someone named Bruce, and your dad. You're not some fuck up." She spoke.
"You didn't hear any of that!" Jason snarled. "Got it!" He ran from the room, down the stairs, and outside. He walked to the police station to talk to Lin. He was crossing the street when he heard a Sato-mobile honk at him. He backflipped out of the way and the Sato-mobile skidded past him to a halt.
The three Occupants stepped out of the Sato-mobile and walked over to him.
"Are you all right Jason?" Bolin asked.
"Yeah." He spoke. "Guess I wasn't paying attention."
"Are you sure you're alright?" The driver, a woman with raven black hair asked him.
"Uh yeah." He stammered when he saw her. She was beautiful. "Just a little star struck is all."
She blushed.
"Let's go Asami." Mako glared at Jason.
"Do you need a lift somewhere?" Asami asked.
"No." Mako said. "He doesn't."
It was Jason's turn to glare at Mako. "I was headed to the Police station." He spoke. "It's not too far away. I can walk."
"Are you sure."
"He said he doesn't need a ride." Mako said. "Let's go." He said grabbing Asami by the arm.
Jason spun, knocking Mako's legs out from under him, and punching him into the ground hard enough to crack it. He grabbed Mako by the shirt and lifted him up. "Ya know. I tried being nice, but Asami is not your own personal plaything. You don't get to tell her what to do, where to go, or force her to do anything. Am I understood?"
Mako tried Fire Bending at Jason, but Jason caught his fire and absorbed it into his own black flame.
"Ya know. That was pretty stupid, but far from the worst decision you've made today."
"Please let him go?" Bolin asked with a bow. "He's my brother, and the only family I have left. So please don't kill him."
Jason looked at Bolin. "What happened to your parents?"
"They were killed when we were really young. We only have each other."
Jason was hit with a bout of Sympathy. He put Mako down and looked at Bolin. He wasn't lying, Jason could tell that Bolin couldn't lie to save his life, but that meant that Mako wasn't an ass hole, just ignorant. "Take him to the hospital." He said handing Bolin a stack of Yuan's. "I fucked up; I'll cover it."
"Why?!" Mako demanded holding his ribs.
"Because. I thought you were an ass hole trying to control Asami, when in fact you're just ignorant because you've never had anyone to teach you that there's a right and a wrong way to treat people and treating them like a side of beef is the wrong way to treat them."
"That doesn't really explain much." Bolin said.
"It means; take your brother to the hospital and get him healed. Then take a class or two on etiquette."
"Okaaaay?" Bolin asked before he helped Mako to the Sato Mobile.
"Thank you." Asami said. "Not that I needed the help. If you hadn't stepped in, I would have stopped him myself."
"I believe it." Jason said. He could see the muscle carefully sculpted under her clothes. He mentally slapped himself for ogling her. "I'll let you get going."
"Bye." Asami said before getting into the Sato Mobile.
Jason waved and continued walking towards the police station.
When he arrived, he walked back to Beifong's office. "Hey." He said as he knocked.
"Grab your gear." Lin said.
"What? Why?"
"We just got a tip about an Equalist sympathizer."
"You don't have to tell me
twice." Jason said bending his helmet around his head.
They left the office and ran for the cars.
"Where is it?"
Jason asked.
"I'll meet you guys there and head off any escape attempts."
"It's Cabbage Corp!" Lin yelled.
Jason threw his grapples and pulled himself up to the rooftops before he started free running. He ran across the rooftops jumping from roof to roof, vaulting over chimneys and other obstacles, grappling to buildings that were too far for him to jump to, and sliding down roofs that were too steep to run across.
Eventually he made it to Cabbage Corp and landed in front of the door. He grappled up to a window and snuck in. He looked around, and nothing screamed: "Equalist Sympathizer!" But he knew that the best traitors could hide in plain sight. He pried open a box... but not like this. He found the Equalists shock gloves hidden just enough to make it look like Cabbage Corp was hiding something, but that in itself was suspicious. He jumped into the rafters and waited.
He didn't have to wait long because the door opened, and the police appeared in the doorway.
Jason dropped down and watched from the shadows as the police came in and searched the factory. They found the gloves and arrested the owner of Cabbage Corp for being an Equalist Sympathizer and for manufacturing the Equalists shock gloves.
"NO!" The man yelled. "Not my Cabbage Corp!"
Jason walked up to Lin.
"He's being set up."
He spoke.
"Oh really? How would you know?"
"Believe me. I've seen enough to know that those gloves were placed just a little too conveniently."
"Then find me proof."
"Are you giving me permission to use my methods to get you the proof you need?"
"So long as you don't leave a trail of corpses, do your job to the best of your ability."
"Will do. Bye."
He said with a two fingered salute. He grappled up to the roof of Cabbage Corp and took off running. He needed to stop off at his house first.
When he arrived at his house he walked inside only to be stopped by Korra.
"JASON! I NEED YOU TO HELP ME MAKE MAKO JEALOUS!"
"What? Why?"
"Because. We were dating, but then he went and started dating Asami, and Halo told me that the best way to get back at him was to make him jealous or take his girlfriend."
Jason mentally slapped himself when he thought about Korra and Asami together like that. If they wanted to get together that was their business, and he shouldn't be thinking about them like that. He was ten years older than them. He needed to be the responsible one. Oh fuck. Roy would laugh his ass off if he heard him say that. "Don't worry. I don't think he'll be dating Asami for much longer."
"What? Why?"
"He fucked up and grabbed her by her arm."
"Oh."
"Yeah. He doesn't know how to treat people since he hasn't had a father figure since he was young."
"That sounds terrible." Korra said.
"Yeah. Living on the street, living by your own rules, living by whatever means you have to survive. It's a cruel reality but some good can come from it."
"What are you going to do?"
"I can't use the method I'm using for Azin and Baani. They are adults... technically. So that leaves options two or three."
"Which are?"
"Through example or through intimidation."
"I know which one sounds more appealing."
"Which is why it's the wrong choice."
"UGH! Being a good person is lame."
"Yeah. Tell me about it."
"So will you help me make him jealous?"
"Yes, but only because it will be a good learning tool."
"Okay. Let's go."
"Not yet. I have work to do. I came home to grab some stuff."
"Like what?"
Jason walked upstairs and walked back down with a bag over his shoulder. He moved it, and Korra heard the sound of metal moving around.
"What are you going to do?"
"My job." He said before he walked outside.
Korra watched him leave before he disappeared into... mist? She looked around and didn't see any mist but where Jason had disappeared. "He needs to teach me that." She said before walking back inside.
Jason walked the streets of Republic City looking for answers the way he did in Gotham, or wherever else he went. He bought some food and went around looking for the homeless of Republic City and offering food in exchange for information. When he came up empty handed, he told them to keep an eye out and that he'd be back the next day with more food and took down their favorite food. He was about to call it quits when he saw a couple of Equalists trashing a homeless man who tried fighting back with Earth Bending, but they chi blocked him and continued their beat down.
He ran over to the Equalists and chopped one in the throat and kicked the other in the knee before he picked them both up and slammed them into each other before dragging them away.
In the tunnels under Republic City.
"Hey."
He spoke.
"Hey buddy. Wake up."
He slapped one of the Equalists awake.
"What!" The Equalist shouted. "What have you done to me!? Let me go, or Amon will make you pay!"
Jason held up a shock glove that was smeared with blood.
"Don't give me a reason to kill you like I did your partner."
The Equalist looked around and saw his fellow Equalist dead on the floor, though he looked like he'd been tortured extensively.
"Ya see."
Jason explained.
"Where I'm from we have the rules about what are and aren't acceptable in war. We call them the Geneva Convention. It states what is and is not allowed during war, what is and isn't allowed to happen to Prisoners of War, stuff like that. Let me just say that in order for something to be put on that, it has to be pretty fucked up. You want to know something though?"
"Wh-what?"
"We aren't where I'm from. Which means that the Geneva Convention doesn't exist here. Which means... I can use anything on that list."
"You-you wouldn't though."
"Depends on if you tell me what I want to know."
"What do you want to know?"
"Who put the Equalist equipment in the Cabbage Corps factory?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Do you know what the Geneva Convention prohibits?"
"Wh-what?"
"It strictly prohibits the use of torture, mutilation, cruelty, humiliation, and Degradation."
The Equalist pissed himself. "NO! NO! I'LL TELL YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT TO KNOW! I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS! I SIGNED UP BECAUSE I THOUGHT AMON WAS ALL ABOUT MAKING THE WORLD EQUAL!"
"Then why did you attack a homeless Earth Bender! Didn't you find it odd that there even WAS a homeless Earth Bender if Benders are the oppressors!"
"Now that you mention it that was kind of weird."
"YA THINK SHIT HEAD! There are bad Benders and bad non-Benders. You can't lump them all together like that! Are you a bad person?"
"I don't think I am."
"But you attacked a homeless Bender. That makes you an automatic bad person, right?"
"NO! Benders are the..."
Jason kicked him causing him to swing through the air.
"WRONG ANSWER!"
The Equalist cried out in terror. "PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" He sobbed.
"TELL ME WHO MADE THE EQUALIST EQUIPMENT AND WHO PUT IT IN THE CABBAGE CORP FACTORY!"
"H-how do you know it wasn't Cabbage Corp!?"
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." The Equalist gasped before hiccupping.
"I KNOW WHAT A STAGED SCENARIO LOOKS LIKE!"
"AHHH! NO! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
"TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO KNOW!"
"IT WAS HIROSHI SATO!" The man sobbed. "WE GO TO HIS FACTORY AND PICK UP THE LIGHTNING GLOVES, AND THE REST OF OUR EQUIPMENT!"
"What else?"
"He told us that he would have a new weapon ready for a trial run soon! He said that it would make all the difference."
"Okay, okay. Next question. Why do you know?"
"That's because he was bait." A silky-smooth female voice said from the shadows."
"And who the fuck are you?"
Jason asked.
"Other than the back up for an ASMR sex podcast?"
"What?" The woman asked.
"I asked who you were?"
Jason replied.
"You may call me Stiletto."
"Sorry. That names already taken."
"Wh-what?"
"That name. It's already been taken, though the lady who used it couldn't pull it off half as well as you are."
"I am not some prize waiting to be won! I am the Assassin for the Equalists."
"No. I don't think you are."
"You DARE to mock me!"
"I dare. I'm the master of Truth or Dare... though I haven't tried the new NSFW edition. Maybe... no. Can't go there. If I go there then I'll get a boner, and boners and work don't mix. That was an awkward first meeting with Poison Ivy. Damn teenage hormones, making everything so fucking awkward. And that costume hid nothing! I mean seriously Bruce! Was it so fucking hard to make a suit that was long enough to hide those awkward boners! That's why I went to the black on blood red look. It at least had room to hide those awkward boners."
"What the fuck!" Stiletto yelled. "I don't want to hear about awkward work boners!"
"Oh. Sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"Thank you. Now. I am Stiletto! The Equalists Assassin."
"No, you're not."
"Will you stop that!"
"Not really. Whenever I hear a lie, I have to point it out."
"And what makes you think I'm lying?"
"You're outfit. It's homemade and not factory made like their outfits."
He said pointing at the two Equalists.
"I'd say that you are trying to be something you're not."
"Oh really?" Stiletto asked. "And what's that?"
"You want Amon to notice you. That's all you've ever wanted, was to be noticed, and you figure that by doing this you'll become more noticeable."
Stiletto looked at him as if he'd figured her out. "How did you figure me out?"
"It wasn't that hard. I basically just spouted nonsense based on the information I had, and it turned out to be right."
"So, you lied?"
"More or less. I do that. A lot."
"So does that mean you lied about the Geneva Convention?" The Equalist asked.
"No. I was telling the truth then... Ya know what. What's your name? I've been calling you Equalist guy in my head, but that's just more work than I want to put into it. Do you have a name?"
"Of course, I have a name. A proud noble name that is..."
"Spit it out!"
"IT'S XING! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
"Well, it's better than Equalist guy. So. Tell me. Has being an Equalist really lived up to the hype?"
"Not really." Xing said. "I mean learning how to Chi Block was cool, but I really haven't felt right when we go and attack Benders who haven't done anything but exist. It just doesn't feel right. I signed up to fight the Avatar."
"Why do you want to fight my sibling's babysitter?"
"What?"
"I asked. Why. Do you. Want to. Fight. My siblings. Babysitter?"
"I didn't know!"
Stiletto jumped at Jason who caught her with his Blood Bending.
"Brave little ant."
He taunted.
"Give me one good reason, why I shouldn't kill you right here and now."
"H-ho-how a-ar-are y-yo-you d-do-doin-doing th-thi-this?"
"Blood Bending."
He explained.
"It's apparently illegal, but I was given permission to use my methods to figure this out."
"W-wh-why?"
Jason tossed Stiletto into a wall, knocking her out.
"I can either leave you here until she wakes up, or I can let you go... on one condition of course."
"Wh-what kind of condition?"
"You be my spy on the inside of the Equalists."
"Um... I don't know."
"All you would have to do is go about your daily life and pay more attention to how the Equalists act. Then tell me your findings when we meet up."
"That doesn't sound too bad."
"You couldn't act any differently than you do from your normal day to day. You'll be paranoid by the end of the week... if you live that long."
"Wh-what?"
"Welcome to undercover work."
"I have some doubts about this."
"That's how you know it's working."
"What?"
"Your first plan will always fail, how you adapt to that failure is what shows your true character."
"Oh. Okay."
"So. What's it gonna be?"
"I suppose I'll help you?"
"Good. Now hold still. This is gonna hurt."
"What..." Xing began asking before Jason hit him hard enough to knock him out.
Jason looked at Xing and Stiletto before he slapped Stiletto in the face with water before he walked away.
Lin Beifong sat at her desk doing paperwork when her door opened.
"Hey chief."
Jason said.
"What did you find out?"
"I know who is giving the Equalists their equipment."
"Who..." The door opened and Jason jumped to the ceiling and fused the metal of his boots to the metal of the ceiling and crouched.
"Chief." An officer said coming in. "Tahno is here to talk to you."
"Fine. Send him in."
The officer waved someone in and Beifong waved Jason out.
Jason dove out the open window, and left the police station, and walked back home. When he arrived back home, he was bombarded by Korra, Baani, and Azin. "What?" He asked.
They all started talking, and he whistled loud enough to make them stop talking. "Korra. Explain."
"Okay. So, we went to the arena to tell Mako and Bolin that they could come live here or on Air Temple Island, but Asami had already offered them the chance to live in her mansion."
"Okay."
"Then she invited us to come over tomorrow."
"Okay."
"Baani wanted to go over, and so I told her that we had to talk to you."
"Okay."
"So, we're asking if we can go over there tomorrow?" Baani asked.
"I don't see why not." Jason said. "So long as you guys are safe."
"Will you come with us?" She asked. "Pleeeeeeease?"
"I told Lin that I was on vacation, but I have to go in and deliver a report, and I'll tell her I'm taking the day off."
"YAY!" Baani cheered. "But what about Halo?"
Jason looked upstairs and started to head up when Azin stopped him.
"I wouldn't go up there if I were you."
"What? Why not?"
"She's pissed. Like really pissed, and horny like a bitch in heat."
"Yeah. I like my junk where it is, thank you very much. Wait. Did she try and convince you to..."
"No, but she looked at me and looked disappointed for a second before getting a look like some of the... well. You know."
"Yeah. I know. Do you want me to go talk to her?"
"No. Not yet at least."
"Okay. I won't. Let's go get lunch."
"YAY!" Baani yelled before she ran outside followed by the others. They walked around Republic City and grabbed lunch before heading back. Korra, Baani, and Azin sat down while Jason walked up to Halo's room. He opened the door and closed it before shouting. "What the fuck Halo! What if Azin or Baani walked in and saw you doing that!"
"WELL THEN ITS A GOOD THING IT WAS YOU!" Halo yelled. "AT LEAST YOU'VE SEEN WHAT I HAVE!"
"Yeah! But I wasn't expecting to see that when I walked in!"
"AND WHY NOT! I WANT THIS BABY OUT OF ME!"
"I bet you're really regretting that night now; aren't Ya!"
"FUCK YOU! Actually. YEAH! GET IN HERE AND LET ME FUCK YOU!"
"That's not happening! I brought you lunch!"
"I DON'T WANT LUNCH! I WANT YOU!"
"Well, that's not happening so long as you're in that mood! I like my dick where it is!"
"YOU'RE SUCH A TEA..." Halo began moaning and Jason heard the sound of liquid hitting the floor. He walked in to see Halo shuddering, her pregnant stomach shaking in ecstasy, and she gasped heavily in pleasure. Silvery liquid coated the floor and ran down her thighs.
"Are you done?" He asked.
"Le-leave the food, and ge-get the fuck out."
Jason put the food on the nightstand and left the room, closing the door. He walked downstairs and saw the kitchen empty. He walked outside and saw the trio eating on the grass. "Sorry if I scared you guys away."
"I took them out before your shouting got any louder." Korra explained.
"Not that it did much." Azin said. "At least not for Halo."
"Yeah. Well. She wanted a baby. She got one. Now she's got to live with the consequences."
"I thought you guys were trying to make a relationship work." Korra said.
"Yeah. The keyword is 'trying'. But she's not the same person she was seven months ago. She's a lot more abrasive. It's like trying to get close to a cactus."
"That doesn't sound pleasant." Azin said.
"No. It isn't."
"Maybe you should just fuck her." Baani said.
"Whoa!" The others said. "Don't use that word."
"Why? Jason uses it all the time."
"That's because Jason is an adult. He can say whatever he wants to say." Azin stated.
Jason winced at that.
'Great. You're teaching your siblings how to swear. Such a great role model. Alfred would be so proud.'
"Okay." He spoke. "It's not like I'm going to stop swearing any time soon, but no underage swearing. You can't swear until you're sixteen."
"Ah hell yeah." Azin cheered thrusting his fist into the air.
"Ah." Baani said. "That means I can't swear for four more years!"
"Sorry kiddo." Jason said.
"So, what do I say instead of 'fuck'?" She asked.
"Usually, you can say sleep with." Jason explained.
"So why don't you sleep with Halo?" Baani asked.
"Because... it's kind of like... how would you feel if one of the people who wanted to take you away from Azin came up to you and said that they'd changed their ways. How would you feel around them?"
Baani closed in on herself. "I wouldn't like that."
"It's kind of the same thing with Halo and myself. It's just a little different because Halo did what she did out of a twisted way of helping me while the people chasing you had no such intentions."
"Oh. Well... are you going to sleep with Korra?" Baani asked bouncing back with her characteristic excitement.
Korra and Jason went into shock at that.
"Uh..." Jason started.
"Um..." Korra began.
"You see..."
"The thing is..."
"OH, JUST FUCK HER ALREADY!" Halo shouted from her room. "THAT WAY AT LEAST ONE OF US IS GETTING PLEASED AROUND HERE! OR BETTER YET, SEND KORRA UP HERE SO YOU CAN STAY CELIBATE OR WHATEVER THE HELL YOU CALL IT!"
"Let's go." Jason said grabbing his box of pork Raman and heading for the door.
Halo's room.
Halo sat on her bed feeling the storm of emotions that being pregnant brought with it. Jason had every right to deny her the release that she needed. She deserved having to pleasure herself, but spirits damn it, she needed a good fucking!
"You called." A voice said from the other side of the door.
"Who's there?" She asked.
The door opened and a figure stood in her doorway. "Someone who came to answer your call." He said before he crossed his fingers in a cross shape and said something in a language she didn't understand. Next thing she knew there were five copies of him.
"Mind if we come in?" He asked in unison.
Jason, Korra, Naga, Azin and Baani walked through the streets of Republic City trying to see what they could see.
"So." Jason asked. "What should we do?"
"We could go to the park and play pro-Bending?" Azin suggested.
"That sounds fun." Korra said. "We could do boys Vs. Girls!"
"That means Mako is on your team." Jason said as they rounded the corner and walked into Mako, Bolin and Asami.
"What? How? How did you know that!" She asked.
"I have a sixth sense for hair spray and body lotion." Jason explained as he thought of a little blue bird.
"What?" Mako asked.
"Nothing." Jason said. "Azin wanted to play Pro-Bending."
"The Arena has been closed."
"And the council won't let normal people play pro-Bending?"
"It's called 'Pro-Bending'?"
"So is Basketball, Football, and Soccer, but people still play them casually."
"Say what now?" Bolin asked.
Jason facepalmed. "Screw your backwards world." He spoke. "We're playing Pro-Bending, and no one can stop us. So, are you in?"
"Sure."
"Okay. It's Team Avatar Vs. Team Red Hood." Jason said.
"But where are we going to play?"
They walked to a park, and Jason jumped onto a rock and cut a thirty-foot rectangle into the grass before he pulled up three feet of dirt from all around the rectangle and smoothed out the rock before he looked around. He found water, but not enough to fill the perimeter of the rectangle. He looked around them and began pulling the water vapor from the sky, and the clouds.
Korra looked at him in shock. "Where did you learn how to do that!" She yelled.
"What? You mean this isn't normal?"
"NO! The only other person I know who can do that is Katara, and she's old!"
Meanwhile in the South Pole.
Katara sneezed.
"Are you alright?" Senna asked.
"Oh, yes. I suppose someone must be talking about me."
"Okay. So long as you're all right."
"I'm not frail Senna, just old."
Jason looked at Korra. "So, what you're saying..."
"Is that you've unlocked a skill that I don't know if I could unlock."
"Well. The skills I have are Fire Bending, Lightning Bending, Earth Bending, Metal Bending, Water Bending, and Blood Bending."
"BLOOD BENDING!" Everyone yelled in horror.
"Yeah. It's not like I use it. I just have it. I don't know why or how I have it, I just do."
"When did you learn that you could Blood Bend?" Korra asked.
"About a year and a half ago, when I first arrived in Republic City. I was talking with Lin, and she tripped, I reached out to stop her from falling, but when I realized that I wasn't going to be able to reach her in time, I grabbed onto something. Turns out it was her blood."
The others were looking at Jason in... not quite fear, but something close to it.
"Guys." He said snapping his fingers and bringing them back to reality. "I'm still Jason. I don't even know why Blood Bending is so bad. All I know is that the other officers tried killing me for it."
"I wonder why." Mako growled.
"What the fuck makes Blood Bending so bad to begin with!?" He demanded.
"It's because you are hurting a person." Baani explained. "Blood Bending hurts the person you're using it on."
"What?!" He asked in shock before remembering the look of pain on Lin's face when he'd stopped her. She looked like she was in so much pain. Had he grabbed the blood in her veins? Was that why it was so painful? He didn't care that he did it to the villains he fought, but to Lin. To any innocent individual. He wouldn't do that.
"I see. I haven't used it for evil intentions. I used it the one time to help Lin. That was it."
"Don't use it anymore." Baani said.
"I won't." Jason lied. He would use it on the villains he fought if he needed to.
Jason went back to pulling the water out of the air, but it wasn't enough. He pulled the water from the ponds and dumped it into the moat. He looked around, and saw three more ponds around the park, and pulled the water from them and dumped them into the moat. Then he took the dirt and made earth disks with them setting them on either side of the arena. Finally, he drew seven lines across the Arena.
"One problem." Mako said. "We don't have protective gear."
"We aren't playing professionally. We are playing for the hell of it. If you don't think you can hold back enough to not hurt someone, just say so."
"No, no." Bolin said. "He has a point. Let me hit you with an earth disk, and you tell me if you don't need gear."
"Do it." Jason said.
Bolin threw an earth disk at Jason that shattered on contact. Jason brushed the dirt off. "Is that all you've got?"
"What? I don't understand. That should have done more damage."
Jason grabbed an earth disk with his earth Bending and threw it at Bolin. It shattered into dust. "Did you honestly think I would put Azin and Baani in danger by using the stadium earth disks?"
"I guess not."
"What about fire Bending?" Mako asked. "There's more to fire than just fire. There's also the heat behind it. How do you plan on protecting them from the heat?"
Jason looked at Mako. "Fine." He spoke. "Let's go grab the protective gear."
They left the park just as a constable walked by and saw the arena in the middle of the park.
"What happened!" The constable shouted. "What happened to the park!"
The group was walking through Republic City to find a store that sold the protective equipment to play Pro-Bending when they heard screeching tires, and explosions. Jason stepped in front of Azin and Baani and stood in an earth Bending stance in case he needed to throw up an earth wall.
A moving truck came screeching around the corner and past them, the doors flapping in the wind. Jason looked in the back of the truck and saw hostages. "Stay here." He said before Metal Bending his helmet around his head. He used his grapples to get to the roof and swung towards the truck. He grappled the truck and pulled himself through the doors before he kicked one of the guys.
"I don't know who the hell you guys are..."
He spoke.
"...but I know that you done fucked up."
He ran forward and grabbed one of the men and threw him towards the back of the truck before he headbutted a second before he threw him at the first man, and they fell out of the truck, and rolled out of sight. He ran to the third man and picked him up before metal Bending a hole in the roof of the truck and tossed him into the open air. He looked at the fourth guy and walked towards him before pushing the shiny metal of his helmet into his face causing the man to see a reflection of himself in the metal.
"Now... you're going to tell me who the fuck you are, and why the fuck you are using these people as hostages."
The man babbled incoherently until Jason headbutted him hard enough to see stars.
Jason turned around to see the hostages.
"Why did they take you?"
He asked realizing that it was a mother and her two children.
"Because. We are Counselman Tarrlok's family. They were equalists hoping to use us as leverage against Tarrlok." The woman said.
"Hang on. I'm going to get you out of here."
Jason said before the truck came to a hard stop, and Jason was sent flying into the front of the truck.
Two cloaked figures came to the back and saw Jason. They reached for the family, but Jason shot his grapple at the first one, skewering their hand before he ran forward and kicked at them sending them flying. The second reached for Jason with a shock glove, but Jason Earth Bent the ground causing it to open up before he buried the figure alive, and possibly crushing them in the process.
"Let's go."
He said picking up the kids and jumping down to the ground. He helped the woman down and smelled something. He looked around the corner of the truck and looked back.
"Run."
He said urgently.
"What?" The woman asked.
"I SAID RUN!"
He yelled pushing them forward. He pulled up on the earth and created a wall around the truck before he ran after the Counselman's family.
The truck exploded, and Jason jumped in front of the family and threw up a second wall before the explosion shattered the walls and threw him right at the family.
"I've got you!" Korra yelled grabbing Jason, but they were both pushed back by the Shockwave.
Jason activated his grapples and pulled them up to the roof of a building before he looked after the family.
Mako and Bolin had stepped in front of the family, Bolin making an earth wall like Jason, and Mako blasting bigger Debris into smaller debris. Asami, Azin, Baani, and Naga had gone to the family's side and were offering comfort where they could.
Jason and Korra jumped down to the street. Jason jolted and took in a quick hiss of air before he pushed the pain to the back of his mind. He would take care of that later. Right now, he needed to check up on the family.
"Are you alright?"
He asked.
"Alright in the fact that we are alive, or alright in the fact that we were just kidnapped in an attempt to make my husband stop his crusade against Amon?" Tarrlok's wife asked.
"The first one."
"Yes. Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now. Do you have a way to get into contact with Counselman…"
"PAOMAH!" A distressed voice called out. "RIKOTA! RIKOH!"
"Tarrlok!" The woman said.
"DADDY!" The children yelled.
The three ran off towards the man Jason knew as 'Ponytails'.
Tarrlok wrapped them in his arms before he hugged each of them and looked them over.
Jason read his lips.
"Are you okay? What happened?"
He watched as the three pointed at him, and he waited until someone walked in front of him before he disappeared.
Tarrlok looked bewildered at what had just happened but looked at his family before he walked them home.
Jason watched Tarrlok leave with his family. The man seemed about as slippery as a slug dipped in butter, but he seemed too genuinely care about his family.
"Hey." Korra said coming up behind him.
"Hey." He replied.
"I guess you're not in the mood for Pro-Bending today?"
"Not anymore."
"Want to head back home?"
"Yeah."
They met with the others and headed back to Jason's house.
Jason stood in the shower looking down at his bruised stomach and chest. He pulled the water from the shower and let it cover his torso. "Fuck." He swore. He watched as his bruises went from red to purplish black to greenish yellow." One more time, and I should be good as new." He spoke.
He showered and stepped out before toweling off. Someone knocked on the door and he wrapped his towel around his midsection before he answered the door.
"Are you okay?" Korra asked from the other side.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"
"You were limping on the way home, and you seemed to be having trouble walking up the stairs, and you've been in the shower for two hours."
"Really? I didn't realize I'd been in here that long."
"Yeah. Are you..." She looked down and saw yellowish green on his torso. "What the hell happened to you."
"Nothing. I just got hit by the earth wall I created to block the explosion."
"That's not nothing! That's a very big something! Did you heal yourself?"
"No." He said sarcastically. "That's why I was in the bathroom for two hours."
"Oh. Do you need help with healing it?"
"Is this just some tactic to get in my pants... or towel?" He asked causing Korra to blush.
"What! No!" Korra denied. "I just want to know if you need help seeing as it's hard to heal yourself with Water Bending."
"I did it just fine."
"You used Water Bending Healing on yourself!?"
"Uh... Yeah. Why, is something wrong with that?"
"No. It's just that it's not really heard of someone being able to heal themselves with Water. I mean there are Water Benders who can, like Katara, but you're like the second person I know who can heal themselves with their Water Bending."
"I guess I must be special or something."
"Or something." Korra said.
Jason opened the door wider so Korra could see him. "If you really want to give it a shot, knock yourself out."
Korra blushed as she walked in and saw Jason wearing nothing but a towel. she turned on the water in the sink and water Bent it over to Jason and wrapped it around his torso before she began looking around the bathroom, looking at anything but Jason.
"Ya know. It's more awkward to look anywhere but at me."
"What!?" Korra asked losing her control on the water and saturating Jason's towel causing it to slip, and fall. If Jason hadn't caught it, Korra would have gotten a good look at his...
"I am so sorry." Bolin said slamming the bathroom door closed. "I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING!" He yelled as he ran down the hall.
Korra blushed so deeply that Jason thought her nose was going to burst like in those anime's that Roy would watch sometimes. He tied his towel around himself and went to open the door only to find that Bolin had slammed it so hard that he broke the lock off inside it, trapping him and Korra in the bathroom. Or at least he would have if Jason wasn't a metal Bender. He pushed the lock back inside the door and opened the door before he went to his room.
Korra was so embarrassed. She ran to her room and slammed the door behind her.
Jason came out of his room five minutes later wearing a pair of black combat boots, charcoal grey tactical pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, and a red hoodie. He went to the bathroom and tossed his soaked towel in the hamper and looked at the door. He took the doorknob apart and looked at it before fusing the broken pieces together with metal Bending, and he put the door back together.
When he was done, he walked to Korra's room. He was just about to knock when he figured he'd better wait until later, let her come to terms with what had just happened. He walked towards the stairs and passed Halo's room when he caught a whiff of something. He walked to Halo's room and took a sniff. That was the smell of sex.
He knocked on the door. "Halo?" He asked.
"What do you want?" She all but cooed.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm better than alright." She sighed.
The door opened and Jason got hit with the odor of sex. A tall man who couldn't be older than Jason, wearing a black long-sleeved shirt that said: 'I have Issues!' across the front stood in the doorway. "Excuse me." He spoke.
"Who the hell are you?" Jason asked.
"I'm just a man. No one you need to worry yourself about."
"See you later Montey." Halo said waving at him.
"Good night, Miss Halo." Montey said. "I hope to see you again soon."
"Not until you answer some questions!" Jason snapped. "Who the hell are you, and how did you get in here."
"All you need to know Jason Peter Todd, is that I am an Ally. I mean you, your friends, your family, and Miss Halo no harm. I'm just here to help. As for how I got in here..." The figure walked towards the stairs. "...I used the door."
Jason grabbed the man's shoulder. "I don't think s..." Jason dropped to a knee and grabbed his arm.
"I hit all of the pressure points and Chakra points on your left side. You will be numb for several hours... well in your case it will likely be several minutes thanks to your healing factor, and when you do get feeling back your entire left side will feel like pins and needles for a while. So why not lay down?" He suggested before kicking Jason into Halo's room. "Why don't you use this time to make amends with Miss halo. He turned to Halo. "I'm sorry to leave like this Miss Halo." Montey said before. "If I've left you unsatisfied at all please take it up with Jason. Have a good day."
"Fucking SIMP!" Jason yelled after Montey.
Montey turned around and glared at Jason and pulled something from a box on his hip. He threw it at Jason, and Jason was suddenly pulled back towards… he looked behind him and saw that Halo had a chain that led to him. He looked down and saw a chain attached to a Kunai had wrapped itself around him. "What the hell is this fucking thing!" He demanded.
"'Kunai with Chain'." Montey explained. "It will disappear in time, but not until after you and Miss Halo have talked."
"Talked about what!" Jason demanded.
"If you are trying to stall me in the hopes that your friends will come to your aid you are sadly mistaken. They will not because they are frozen."
"What the hell did you do to them!"
"I froze them in time until you and Miss Halo have talked."
"Talked about what!" Jason reiterated.
"You two need to come to an understanding. I realize that what she did to you is wrong. She understands that what she did to you is wrong. Now all that's left is to make amends."
"If you care about her so much, then why don't you take her with you!" Jason spat.
Montey grabbed Jason and threw him out of the room and down the stairs before diving down the stairs after him and kicking him outside. "You really piss me off!"
"Oh yeah?" Jason asked metal Bending the 'Kunai with Chain' off of him and flexing before he walked over to Montey. "Tell me why?"
"Because! You..."Montey was cut off as Jason kicked him into a tree and grabbed him by the throat.
"You come into my house! You freeze my friends and family! What makes you think I won't kill you right here and now?"
"You're choosing to abandon your child. You're worse than your father! At least your father didn't have a choice to abandon you!'
Jason slammed Montey into the ground. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU CALL ME!"
"You're a shitty human being! You're worse than Batman!"
Jason threw Montey into the bricks of the house. "YOU DON'T KNOW A FUCKING THING ABOUT ME!"
Montey got up and laughed. "I know more about you than you know."
Jason used Earth Bending to trap Montey.
"Cute." Montey said before he glowed red, and the earth trap was demolished. "You may have Bending, and combat skills, but I have something better than that."
Jason created a crowbar with his metal Bending and swung it at Montey only for Montey to glow grey, and a sword appeared in his hand, and blocked his attack.
"I have Creation and Summoning magic!"
"Summoning Magic that lets you summon the ability to destroy Earth Bending traps and prisons?"
"Yes. That was Red Mana I used to demolish your little trap. If you want more evidence..." Montey glowed green and white before his injuries were healed. "That was Green/White Mana I used to heal myself. I could call down a lightning bolt to strike you down if I wanted too. Or I could kill you and bring you back as a Zombie who is completely loyal to me, or I could mind control you so that you believe you are a six-year-old girl, or I could exile you from this existence, make you an artifact and hide you away in a Helvault, or I could cause the plants to come alive and rip you apart."
"Real fucking original! You're just a knockoff poison Ivy with that ability."
"Oh, but that's not all I can do." Montey said pulling something from a pouch on his belt. He tossed it to Jason who caught it and looked at it. "'Spellbinding Circle'?" He asked.
Suddenly he was trapped in a circle with runes and hieroglyphs on it. "What the hell is this thing!" He demanded.
"That is the 'Spellbinding Circle'. It's a trap from another world in this Multiverse."
"Multiverse?!"
"Yes. I know that you're aware of the Multiverse, but did you know that there is a Multiverse surrounded around you?"
"What?"
"Yes. There is an entire Multiverse dedicated to you, and I must say that I am disappointed in you in this universe. All your other forms care a lot about those you befriend."
"And I do!"
"What about Halo?"
"Just because I don't fuck her doesn't mean I don't care."
"Wrong. You don't care about her. Now I can't blame you for hating her for what she did to you. I can't blame anyone for that. I know that you have done more than should be required of you, but what I can't forgive! What I CAN'T CONDONE! IS THE FACT THAT YOU KEEP TELLING HER THAT THERE IS A CHANCE FOR YOU GUYS TO REPAIR YOUR RELATIONSHIP WHEN YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF REPAIRING IT!"
"If you really know what she did. Why the hell do you think I would want to continue that relationship? I tried, but..."
"But then you went away for four months, and you let the darkness in your heart grow. You became the monster you need to be for this land. So, stop being an ass, tell Halo it's over, and quit making her hurt emotionally! At this point you're hurting the baby more than you are Halo! Are you really going to be the hypocrite who kills a child after you went out of your way to protect children in your other life!?"
"What?"
"You go out of your way to protect kids. When you were Robin you broke a guys collar bone because he was going to sell drugs to kids, when you were training to become the red hood you killed your trainers who were hurting kids, when you took over Gotham you told the Gangs that if they sold to kids you'd kill them, you went out of your way to help and protect kids, and now you want to kill one!"
"What!" Jason exclaimed horrified. "No!"
"Really? Could've fooled me."
"What are you, some kind of stalker?"
"No. I don't stalk people. In the world I come from, you don't exist. You're a comic Book Character."
"Really? You have Creation and Summoning Magic, but you read Comic Books?"
"How else do you expect me to learn how to summon stuff. I'm the biggest nerd I know in my world. That's how my Magic works. I read, play, write, etc. and I learn from all of that and that's how I Create and Summon. Want to see something?"
"Um... sure?"
Montey pulled twenty-two cards from a pocket and pulled a card at random before he showed him the card. "This is the 'Wish' card. It allows me to wish for any one thing that I want."
"Okay?"
"I wish that Halo had gotten Jason's consent."
There was a flash, and Jason dropped to his knees, holding his head. "OW! FUCK! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT FOR!"
"Do you remember that night!"
"WHAT!? Yes!"
"What happened that night?"
"I woke up in the room, on a bed. Halo came out and explained that her father told his group to kill me, but she stepped in front of me and told him that they could use me. They just had to play it carefully. They took me to a hotel and waited for me to wake up. That's when she told me that my two options were to get her pregnant with my child, or the Agni Kai's would kill me. I told her to let them try, but she said that they would make me exhaust myself and then they would kill me and hang me like a trophy and a warning to anyone else who might try to attack them."
"What did you do?"
"We talked late into the night, and then we had sex, I impregnated her, she went home, her father had the money I wanted brought to me, and then Halo stayed with her family until her family was attacked by the Equalists. She was six months pregnant and ran as best as she could to a safe house I made where Lin found her and took her to the house we live in where she has stayed. We've been friends, but we don't have any romantic feelings towards each other, that night was strictly business."
"Excellent." Montey said negating the effects of 'Spellbinding Circle'. "Now. Let's go talk to Miss Halo, shall we?" He asked holding his hand out for Jason to take.
Jason took his hand and pulled himself up. They walked inside and up the stairs to Halo's room.
"Halo?" Jason asked knocking on the door.
"Yes?" Halo asked.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. You and Montey left only a few minutes ago. Is something wrong?"
"No." Montey said. "I just forgot something here." He said walking over to the bed and grabbed a key ring with seven orbs hanging from it. He put it in his pocket and looked at Halo. "Miss Halo, until next time."
"Bye." Halo said. "Don't forget to bring that thing with you next time."
Jason put a hand on Montey's chest. "Also, don't forget to put a tie or a sock on the door next time, and maybe some soundproofing."
"I'll remember." He spoke. "Also, call me Montgomery." With that he left.
"Are you guys going to Asami's tomorrow?" Halo asked.
"Yeah." Jason said.
"Good. I'll have Montey come over tomorrow while you guys are gone. Go enjoy yourselves."
"Will do. Let us know if you need anything."
"Ugh. You're such a mother hen! Go on. Get out. I'll let you guys know if I need anything."
Jason closed the door and walked downstairs. He watched as his friends and family were playing games, and couldn't help but feel that something had changed, possibly for the better.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The Next day Jason, Korra, Azin, and Baani walked up the path towards the Sato Mansion.
"Wow." Jason whistled. "Big house. Not as big as Wayne Manor, but still pretty big."
They knocked on the door and waited a few minutes before the door was opened by a well-dressed butler. "Yes?" The butler asked.
"Avatar Korra, Jason Todd, Azin, and Banni." Jason said. "Asami is expecting us."
"Allow me a moment to confirm this." The butler said.
"Yeah. Sure. Take your time."
The Butler left and Jason thought back to his meeting with Beifong.
Two hours ago.
"Hey Chief." He said walking into Lin's office. "I'm heading over to the Sato mansion. We got invited over there by Asami. I'll keep an eye out and report back with what I find. I don't think that Asami knows about her father's discretion, but I'll find out."
"Good. I want hard evidence about Hiroshi Sato before we arrest him. I want an open and shut case."
"I'll get it, even if I have to break Hiroshi myself."
"Then why the hell are you still in my office talking to me?"
Jason left Lin's office
"If you will follow me." The butler said breaking Jason from his thoughts.
The group followed the butler into an indoor pool.
"Introducing Avatar Korra, Jason Todd, Azin, and Baani." The butler said as Pabu jumped into the water, followed by Bolin who yelled. "Earth Bending bomb!" Sending water to splash against Mako and Asami.
"Hey guys." Mako said.
"Glad you made it." Asami welcomed.
"Welcome, to paradise." Bolin said jumping out of the water before he began floating on his back.
"It looks like you guys settled right in." Korra said in a bored tone, trying to hide her displeasure.
Jason walked up and sat next to her and nudged her with his shoulder, a silent reminder to follow the plan.
"Pretty much." Mako said as Bolin let himself sink. "Except
Someone
forgot to ask her father if we could stay here."
"Yeah, but I smoothed it over with him." Asami said. "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is permission."
"Can we go swimming?" Baani asked.
"I don't know." Jason said. "CAN you go swimming?"
"Sure." Asami said. "Come on in, the waters great."
Azin and Banni jumped in as Bolin got out.
"This is THE greatest place in the world." Bolin said looking at Jason and Korra. "Watch this, watch this." He said standing at attention. "Fetch me my towel good sir."
"Yes, Master... Bolin." The butler said obviously not enjoying this part of his job.
"Master Bolin." Bolin said pointing at the Butler. "HA! I love this guy. Now pat me dry."
"As you wish." The butler said drying Bolin off as fast as he could.
"And don't forget Master Pabu." Bolin reminded.
"Wouldn't dream of it, sir." The butler said as he put the towel on Bolin's head where Pabu was sitting, and dried Pabu off. When he finished Pabu's fur fluffed up causing Pabu to squeak.
Bolin smiled and jumped back into the pool, and Jason could just tell that the Butler was pissed off by that.
Asami swam up to Korra and Jason and Korra spoke up.
"So, what do you have planned for us today? Lemme guess. Shopping? makeovers?"
Bolin jumped on Mako and pushed him under before he surfaced. "Ooh, ooh! I vote makeovers!" He yelled raising his hand.
Mako jumped on Bolin and pushed him under the water at the same time Baani yelled. "I want a makeover! Can I have a makeover!"
Asami laughed at Baani. "Of course, you can, but I had something a little more exciting in mind for us." She said looking at Korra causing Korra to shudder.
Jason looked from Korra to Asami, back to Korra. "Ya know." He whispered." If I didn't know any better. I'd think that you should just steal Asami to make Mako Jealous."
Korra looked at him with a: 'Help me out here.' Look.
"What did you have in mind Asami?" Jason asked looking at her. He moved his legs so no one could see how much Asami in a swimsuit was turning him on. Suddenly someone grabbed his legs and pulled him into the water. He broke the surface and looked around to see Bolin and Mako smiling at him with vicious smiles. "Oh." He spoke. "You wanna go?"
"No Bending!" Mako yelled just as Jason grabbed him, lifted him over his head, and slammed him into the water. He turned on Bolin and grabbed him before he threw him through the water and slammed him into Mako before he jumped above the water line and stood on it.
Korra and Asami stopped talking to stare at a thoroughly soaked Jason who shook his hair. Time slowed down for them, and they caught themselves practically drooling at him. He pulled the water from his clothes and dropped it into the pool.
"Hey Jason!?" Bolin said. "How were you able to move that fast in the water?"
"I'm stronger than the average person. My body is at peak human condition."
"How did that happen?"
"I did push-ups, sit-ups, and drank plenty of juice."
"Seriously?" Bolin asked jumping out of the pool and started doing push-ups.
"No. I died and was resurrected with a Lazarus pit."
Everyone looked at him in confusion.
"Wh-what?" Bolin asked.
"Asami. What did you say you wanted to do?"
"I was telling Korra about the track where we race our Sato Mobiles. Want to come?"
"Do I! Let's go!"
They changed out of their swimwear and Asami led them to a racetrack. They stood in the stands and watched as Sato Mobiles were raced around a track that would make Nascar drool.
"Pretty cool huh?" Asami asked.
"Way cooler than a makeover." Korra said.
"This is where Future Industries test drive their Sato Mobiles.
"Two questions." Jason said.
"Shoot."
"Can I try out this track, and can you guys make me custom orders if I pay for it?"
"Do you think that you can?" Asami asked. "And so long as we know what you want, and can pay for it, I don't think it will be a problem."
"I can drive anything." Jason said. "Yes! Score!"
"What about you Korra?" Asami asked. "You ever been behind the wheel?"
"The only thing I know how to drive is a polar bear dog."
"Want me to take you for a spin?" Asami asked Korra.
Jason coughed hiding a laugh.
"Let's do it!" Korra said.
Jason wasn't fast enough to hide his laugh this time.
They went down to the starting line and Jason hopped into a Sato Mobil, and a second driver hopped in behind him while Korra and Asami hopped into a second Sato Mobile.
Asami looked at Jason who nodded at her. She nodded back and they looked forward.
A flagbearer waved his flag, and Jason floored the pedal to the floor causing the Sato Mobile to shoot off. He looked over to see that Asami had kept up with him, and they took the first turn together. Jason hit the gas and drifted around the second Corner before he straightened and put the car into gear before he shot off again.
In the stands Mako cheered for Asami while Azin and Baani cheered for Jason, and Bolin cheered for their friends.
Jason saw Asami catching up, so he let her get a little closer before he cut her off causing her to hit the brakes. He sped up because while he fought and played dirty, he wasn't an asshole.
Asami switched gears and hit the gas before she tried getting around Jason's other side. The room for maneuverability was tight, but she was able to squeeze through and she pulled ahead ever so slightly.
Jason shifted gears and floored the accelerator before he gave Asami room, and they raced for the finish line. Jason's Sato Mobile began coughing, sputtering, and sparking before the engine erupted into flames. He froze the front of the car to cool the engine down long enough for him to cross the finish line.
"JASON!" Asami yelled to be heard over the wind. "GET OUT! THE SATO MOBILE IS GOING TO EXPLODE!"
Jason reached behind him and undid the Future Industries employee's crash harness and threw him into the air before he created a platform under him to catch him. Then he went back to driving. He and Asami crossed the finish line at the same time, and Jason undid his Crash Harness and went to jump, but his foot got caught and he landed leaning out of the Sato Mobile. He looked up to see that he was heading right for the pit and was going to crash into the garage. He got back in the driver's seat and floored the pedal before making a ramp.
He ramped over the garage and into the air before the Sato Mobile exploded.
"JASON!" Korra and Asami yelled.
A figure fell out of the sky and rolled into a three-point landing. "You called?" Jason asked looking only slightly ruffled.
"JASON!" Korra and Asami yelled as they ran to him. He Earth Bent a dome over them, and what was left of the Sato Mobile came crashing down on top of them.
Jason Earth Bent a doorway for them and they walked out of the earth dome.
"Well fuck." Jason said. "Looks like I found a fatal flaw in your Sato Mobiles."
"What's that?" Asami asked, shaken.
"They can't go over 80 miles an hour otherwise they explode. Also, that one was pulling a little to the right. You might want to check the alignment to make sure it was only that one and not the entire inventory."
"Oh. Okay... HEY! YOU DON'T GET TO BLOW UP ONE OF MY SATO MOBILES, SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF KORRA AND I AND THEN CRITIQUE MY SATO MOBILE!"
"JASON!" Korra yelled. "HOW THE HELL DID YOU SURVIVE THAT EXPLOSION ANYWAY?"
"Well. If you will calm down, I'll tell you."
"TELL US!" They shouted in unison.
"Let me let this guy down first." Jason said Earth Bending the platform he'd created for the employee he'd thrown to safety down to the ground. "Now. What I did was when I launched myself into the air, I used Metal Bending to send the engine farther away and then jumped out using the Sato Mobile as a makeshift cover to get away safely."
"Oh." Korra said before she punched Jason. "Don't ever scare me like that again!" She yelled before she grabbed him and pulled him close to her face... "I really want to kiss you right now, but I have no idea how to." She whispered.
Jason took that as his cue and kissed her full on the lips causing her brain to short circuit.
Asami looked at Jason and Korra before looking at Mako. Would Mako ever kiss her like that?
They made sure that everyone was taken care of, cleaned up the mess, and put the track back to the way it was before they walked back to the house. On their way back Korra and Asami began talking.
"Ya know..." Korra began. "I thought you were really Prissy... no offense, but not anymore, not after today."
"Don't worry about it." Asami said. "I've been in self-defense classes since I was this high..." She held her hand up to about her mid-section. "...my dad wanted to make sure that I could always defend myself."
"Smart guy." Korra and Jason said in unison.
"Sorry." Jason said. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but your dad is a smart guy if he had you in self-defense classes that long. I mean, look at you. You have great looks, a killer body, any and every guy, and probably a few girls would do anything to get with you. Even if it meant not taking no for an answer."
"There have been a few close calls, but luckily I had my training to fall back on."
"Really. Mind if we go a few rounds some time?"
Asami raised an eyebrow.
"On the sparring mats of course."
"Of course." Asami said. "Sure. If you want to spar, I'll spar with you. We have a gym at my house we can use."
Baani pulled on Jason's sleeve and motioned for him to come down to her level. He dropped to a knee, and she whispered something into his ear.
"Baani would like to know when she can get a makeover."
Asami laughed. "We'll spar first and then go get makeovers."
"YAY!" Baani cheered.
They walked up to the house and the butler opened the door.
"Emergency!" Bolin yelled holding his crotch as he ran into the house. "Emergency! Coming through, Beep, Beep!" He ran through the house towards the bathroom.
"Uh. Is there another bathroom I can use?" Korra asked.
"We have a ladies powder room upstairs." Asami said as Mako came and put his hand on Asami's shoulder. "First door on your right, you can freshen up in there."
"Thanks." Korra said as she walked up the stairs.
Jason looked around. "Could I get some water?"
"Of course." Asami said. "Jagen, do you mind?"
"Of course, Mistress Asami."
Bolin came out of the bathroom while Jason waited for the glass of water. Jason took it when Jagen offered it. He chilled it to near freezing and downed it. "Thank you, sir, Jagen." He said politely. Alfred would have kicked his ass if he'd disrespected a butler or maid.
Jagen looked shocked. "No need for formalities sir." He spoke. "I am but a humble butler."
"But you are the machine that keeps this place running. You deserve some respect for that."
"Thank you, sir." Jagen said with a bow. "May I take your glass?"
"Would you mind coming back with the perfume?" Bolin asked.
"Of course, Master Bolin." Jagen said as his shoulders hunched in obvious disgruntlement.
Jason handed him his glass and turned to look at Mako. "Mako." He spoke.
"Yeah?" Mako asked a little unsure of Jason.
"Have you given any thought about what I said yesterday?"
"About treating Asami differently than I was?"
"Yeah."
"Um, yeah. I have. The thing is... I'm not entirely sure what you mean."
"Ay, ay, ay." Jason said. "Okay. This week, sometime. You Asami, Korra, and I are going to go out, and you will see what I mean. I may not look it, but I can actually be a gentleman if I break out a..."
Jason was cut off as Korra ran down the steps, her face looked a shade or two more pale than normal, and it looked... uneven? She also looked scared; she was breathing heavier than if she had just run down the stairs.
Bolin was being sprayed with Perfume by Jagen as Korra ran past them.
"You're leaving?" Asami asked. "But I thought..."
"I'm sorry." Korra said. "I just forgot that I have to air sit... I mean baby bend... I mean babysit the Airbender kids."
'That could be a legit excuse.' Jason thought. 'Or Korra found out something that scared her.' "Hey Korra." He called after her. He followed her outside and grabbed her shoulder. "What happened in there?"
"I overheard Hiroshi Sato say that: 'Now was the time to strike.'." Korra whispered.
"Okay. Go tell Lin. I'm going to stay here to see if I can find out anything else. Tell Lin that I'll give her my report tonight."
"Okay." Korra said before she left.
Jason went back inside.
"Is Korra all right?" Asami asked.
"Yeah." Jason lied easily. "She really did just forget about babysitting the Airbender kids and thought that Tenzin was going to be mad. I assured her that he wouldn't, and that if he did, Pema wouldn't let him stay mad for long. So. Where's the gym?"
Asami led them to a gym with some mats on the floor for sparring. Jason kicked his boots off and stood at one side of the mats while Asami took her boots off. Asami stepped to one side of the mats and swung her arms to loosen them.
Jason took his jacket off to reveal a t-shirt that was practically glued to him it was so tight and showed off his muscles and tossed it to the side where Baani and Bolin each caught a sleeve and glared at each other. Asami took her jacket off to show a bodice and a vest that gave off a great view of her arms and showed that her arms were pretty well defined. She tossed her jacket to Mako who caught it before she took off the vest leaving herself in a strapless bodice. She tossed her vest to Mako, and let her arms hang limply at her sides.
Jason noticed that she was waiting to see what he did. He circled one way. She went the other way. He made the first move, and faked an attack, she went to block, but wasn't prepared for him to drop and swipe her feet out from under her. She rolled into a crouch and kicked out at him. He moved and caught her leg before rolling backwards and putting pressure on her leg before she snapped her arm out at him, hitting him in the nose hard enough to make him let go, but not hard enough to break it. She pulled herself up and stretched her leg out before she jumped at him, but turned her kick into a spin, and brought her foot down on his shoulder. He grabbed her foot and threw her, but she spun in midair, and transferred her momentum into a kick that slammed into his chin making him step back. She landed in a three-point landing before she rushed him and jumped bringing her knee into his chin making his teeth click. He hit her in the stomach with a palm strike and sent her flying backwards before he rushed her and brought his foot down on her with an axe kick. She rolled out of the way and swiped his feet out from under him before she brought her fist down on his chest making him choke on air.
"Should they really be fighting this hard?" Bolin asked.
"Do you really think Jason is putting his all in this fight?" Azin asked.
"Well, yeah."
"Oh. Then you're going to have trouble when he actually starts trying."
"I'm sure they are just sparring with no intention of hurting each other." Mako said hopefully.
"You don't know Jason very well." Baani said. "He's just warming up."
Jason grabbed Asami's arm and threw her over him dislocating her shoulder in the process before he rolled to his feet. "Impressive." He spoke. "I haven't had a fight this good since... Well, I can't remember the last time I had a fight this good."
"I'll take that as a compliment." Asami said before she grabbed her arm, felt around for a bit before she placed her arm in a specific spot, and walked to the wall. She pressed her arm against the wall and pushed with all her might. She heard a pop and swung her arm. "Ready to continue?"
"Are you?" Jason asked.
"A real opponent wouldn't let me relocate my arm. I can fight for a bit longer."
Jason cracked his knuckles and smiled. "Then hell yeah I'm ready to keep fighting."
Asami ran at Jason and jumped in the air before raising her leg as far as she could and brought it down on Jason's head. Jason caught it in his arms and spun Asami, spinning her into the ground. He curb stomped her, but she rolled out of the way and to her knees before she lashed out, punching him in the crotch causing him to grunt, and fall to a knee.
Azin, Bolin, and Mako groaned in sympathy and grabbed their respective crotches.
"I-I am so sorry." Asami said. "I didn't..."
"It's fine." Jason wheezed before he stood up and walked around.
'I hit him harder than I meant to, how is he able to walk around after a hit like that? He should be on the ground writhing in pain.'
Jason took in several deep breathes before he carefully sat down.
"Are you okay Jason?" Baani asked.
"Yeah." He spoke. "I think this is a good time to talk about the differences between fighting dirty and fighting smart."
The others gathered around him, and he looked at them. "Who knows the difference between fighting dirty and fighting smart?"
"Fighting dirty is using cheap shots to win a fight." Mako said.
"Wrong. Anyone else?"
Everyone looked at him before Asami spoke up.
"Fighting dirty is when there are rules for a fight, and you break one of those rules to win. Fighting smart is when you do whatever it takes to survive. Of course, fighting dirty and fighting smart are thrown out the window in a 'no holds barred' fight."
"Exactly." Jason said. "So, who can give me some examples of fighting smart?"
"I could Earth Bend rock gloves around my arms." Azin said.
"I could freeze water around MY arms." Baani said.
"Yes. What else?"
"I could... I, could... What else could I do?"
"You could kick, claw, bite, rip, tear, use every advantage you have, but only do this in a life and death situation. If it's just a casual spar, just fight normally."
"I am so sorry." Asami said.
"No worries, just make sure that the next time you punch a guy in the dick, he actually deserves it."
"I will."
"Can we do makeovers now?" Baani asked.
"I agree with Baani!" Bolin said. "Let's do makeovers!"
"Come on." Asami said. "Jason. You, Azin, and Mako can be the judges, and we can make a day out of it with what's left of the day."
"Okay." Jason said.
They left the gym and headed to Asami's walk in closet. They brought chairs in from the hall, and Azin, Jason, and Mako sat in the chairs while Asami, Baani, and Bolin walked into the closet.
They waited thirty minutes before Baani walked out wearing a blue dress, that she had to hold up, but it still dragged the ground. She wore makeup, and her nails were done in a shade of blue, and she was wearing a pair of high heels that were just a little too big for her, so every step made them click against her heel. She walked up to them before turning around and walked away.
They gave her applause that made her blush before smiling, and she disappeared into the closet.
They waited forty-five minutes before Bolin stepped out wearing a green dress that looked like it's seams were about to pop if he fell wrong. He wore a pair of green pumps and makeup, and his fingernails were painted green. He walked towards them and turned around. Jason covered Azin's eyes so he didn't see Bolin's back, and the three burst into fits of laughter and wolf whistles as Bolin sauntered away with more confidence than a man in heels should have.
They applauded as he disappeared into the closet and waited for half an hour until the closet door opened and Asami walked out wearing a black evening gown with a slit going up one side. She glided towards them, and they could see the makeup that looked like it had been done by a couple of novices. Her nails were a red so dark it looked black, but also looked like they had been done by amateurs. On her feet she wore a pair of sandals that made her feet look like they belonged on a Greek goddess.
She walked towards them and looked at each of them as if she was looking into their very souls. She turned around and showed that the dress was backless as she glided back to the closet. She disappeared into the closet and the three looked at each other.
"Holy fuck." Jason Said.
"I'm the luckiest guy in the world." Mako said.
"Guys." Azin said. "I think I just lost my virginity."
Jason and Mako looked at him before they started laughing.
"No." Jason gasped wiping a tear from his eye. "No, you didn't."
"I guess it's time for the talk." Mako laughed.
"What's so funny?" Bolin asked as he walked out of the closet, still wearing the makeup and finger nail polish.
"Azin thinks he lost his virginity just by looking at Asami." Jason laughed harder.
Asami blushed. "While I thank you for the compliment, Azin." She said coming out of the closet. "I'm pretty sure that's not one of my skills.
"What's not one of your skills?" Baani asked coming out the closet.
"Taking Virginity with a look."
"What's virginity?"
"Yup." Jason said. "Guess they need to hear the talk."
"I'll give Baani the talk." Asami said. You three can give Azin the talk."
"Sounds Good." Jason said as he led Azin, Bolin, and Mako back to the gym.
An hour and a half later Asami led a dazed looking Baani into the gym. She noticed that Azin looked like his entire life had been a lie. "What did you guys tell him?" She asked.
"I told him the truth." Jason said. "The whole truth and nothing but the truth."
"What did you tell him."
"I told him that his body has gone through changes so that he doesn't think girls, or boys if that's how he rolls, aren't as gross as he might have thought they were, and that now he's going to be a lot more attracted to them. I told him that when two people love each other a lot they can show how they feel about each other by having sex. Then I went into detail about what sex is, the five different types of sex, that a man and a woman can have sex, that two men can have sex, that two women can have sex, and that it doesn't have to be love that drives two people to have sex, it can be a spur of the moment where they need to release sexual tension. I also told him that there is consensual sex which is what you want to go for because nonconsensual sex or rape is wrong. I told him that if he finds himself needing to release sexual tension at home to put a sock on the door, and then told him how to do it. I also told him that there are brothels that offer sex for anyone. I told him not to go there because that's the easiest way to get a sexually transmitted disease, and that when he finds his partner of choice to at least tell someone so they know and can help him in case he needs it. Finally, I told him to use protection if he plans on having multiple partners or he isn't ready to have a kid."
Asami watched in increasing horror as Jason recounted his story of how he handled the talk with Azin and thanked the spirits that Baani hadn't been given the talk by him. "Oh my gosh." She said pinching the bridge of her nose with her thumb and index finger. "What the hell were you thinking? You were supposed to get his feet wet, not drop an ocean of information on him!"
"Well, Sue me." Jason said. "From the way I saw it, he needed to be thrown feet first into the ocean since he's already 17."
"You traumatized him."
"Hey Azin." Jason said. "Did I traumatize you?"
"I don't know. I have so many questions, but I don't think I could handle anymore."
"See. You traumatized him."
"Asami didn't even tell me half of that." Baani said.
"Well, you've still got a few years to figure this stuff out. Azin doesn't."
"Okay."
"Excuse me Mistress Asami." Jagen said. "Dinner is served."
"Thank you, Jagen. Is there enough for Jason and his family?"
"You didn't have to." Jason said. "We can buy something on our way home."
"Of course, Mistress."
"Let's eat." Asami said.
They walked to the kitchen and sat down at the massive table.
"So, Jason." Hiroshi Said. "Why don't you tell me a little about yourself and how you know my daughter?"
"I suppose you could say that I met Asami by accident." Jason said.
Asami blushed.
"I was walking to the Police Station when she almost hit me with a Sato Mobile."
"Again, sorry." She spoke.
"Don't worry. It's not the first time I've been hit or almost hit by a Sato Mobile, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last."
They looked at him skeptically.
"Asami." Hiroshi scolded lightly. "You have to be more careful. You are an example for Future Industries. You pave the path for our future."
"I understand dad."
"I worry about you, and I want you to be safe."
"I will be."
They were just about to start eating when the door opened.
"I'm terribly sorry." Jagen said. "But Chief Beifong, Councilman Tenzin, and Avatar Korra are here to see you Master Hiroshi."
"Korra?" Mako asked. "What are you doing here?"
"I overheard Hiroshi say that the Cabbage Corp investigation bought him time and they were ready to strike. Explain that!"
Hiroshi laughed. "This is all just a misunderstanding resulting from the Avatar's overactive imagination. My number one competitor was knocked out of the game. It's provided me an opportunity to
strike
the market with a new line of Sato Mobiles."
The way Hiroshi said Strike sent shivers up Jason's spine. Lin caught the way he shivered and saved that for later to ask him about it.
"It's just business..." Hiroshi said. "...nothing nefarious."
Lin and Tenzin looked at each other before looking back at Hiroshi.
"In order to put all suspicions to rest..." Tenzin said. "...Might we have a look at your factories and warehouses?"
Asami huffed, but Hiroshi put a hand in front of her.
"If you feel that it's necessary, then you're welcome to search ALL of Future Industries."
"Would you object to me posting officers outside your Future Industries sites?" Lin asked. "Just as a precaution? Someone could try and plant evidence tonight."
"Or you're just worried that we'll destroy any evidence." Asami scoffed.
"We are innocent." Hiroshi said. "Letting them post guards and search our factory and warehouse will prove that."
"Thank you, Mr. Sato." Lin said. "We will see you tomorrow. Please, enjoy your dinner." With that, Lin, Korra, and Tenzin left the Sato Mansion.
"Please, continue." Hiroshi said.
They finished their meal in silence, and Jason, Azin, and Baani headed back to their house after that. They were halfway there when they were surrounded.
"Lookie here." A voice said. "Are you Benders or Non-Benders?"
"Which one gets us out of here without a fight?" Jason asked.
"Wrong answer." The voice said before swinging something at Jason. Jason caught it, and a shock went through his body causing him to fall to his knees.
"JASON!" Azin and Baani yelled as he fell face first into the ground.
"Tie him up." The first voice said. "Then take them. I'm sure that Amon will be happy that we brought more Benders to be purified."
"Um yeah." A feminine voice said. "I'm going to have to stop you right there."
"Who the hell are you?" A second voice said.
There was the sound of a blur and grunts before Jason was picked up. "Follow me." The voice said before it carried Jason away. When they were far enough away from the thugs the voice spoke up. "Where do you guys live?"
"Over here." Baani said leading the way.
They walked for a while until they stopped, and someone opened the door.
"Aren't you coming in?" Baani asked.
"You have to invite me in first." The voice said. "I can't enter a house otherwise."
"Oh. Would you like to come in?"
"Yes. Thank you very much." The voice said carrying Jason over the threshold and sitting him down in a chair. "He'll be fine in the morning. Just make sure that he doesn't do anything too strenuous, otherwise he could be really injure himself."
As if on cue Jason jolted and sat up straight. "Whoa!" He spoke. "What the hell!"
"How!" The voice asked.
Jason turned to stare at the owner of the voice and saw a woman of average height with an athletic build, her hair was reddish-brown, and pulled back in a braid. She wore a turquoise shirt, brown pants, calf high boots, and fingerless gloves. On her waist she wore a utility belt with daggers on either side.
"Hello." He spoke.
"Hello." She replied.
"Thank you, for stepping in when you did."
"You're welcome. Though I have to ask. How did you recover so quickly?"
"The short answer. I heal fast."
"And what's the long answer?"
"It's a long story and I've got to be somewhere in ten minutes."
"Tell me on the way. I don't know how you were able to recover so quickly, and I don't like not knowing something."
"Fine. Let me tell Korra and Halo, and we can go."
"Fine."
Jason walked up the stairs and saw a sock on the doorknob to Halo's room. He kept walking to Korra's room and knocked. "Hey Korra. You in there?"
The door opened and he saw Korra standing in the door wearing her pants and a bra. "I was just getting ready for bed." She spoke. "Did you want to join me?"
Jason mentally slapped himself. "As much As I want to say yes. No. Not because you're not attractive, because let me tell you, you're very attractive, but because I'm almost ten years older than you, and every relationship I've ever been in has failed, but also I have work to do tonight, and as..."
He was cut off when Korra kissed him causing his brain to vacate his head.
"Go on then." She spoke.
Jason turned around robotically and walked down the stairs. "Let's go." He told the woman. "Be good for Korra." He told Azin and Baani.
"Yes daaad." Azin snarked.
They left the house and Jason started walking towards Future Industries.
"So." The woman said. "Spill."
"Tell me your name first. As much as you hate not knowing something, I hate working with someone I don't know."
"Very well. My name is Lara. I am the daughter of Ta Mari and an unknown father. My mother was the daughter of Ty Lee, and thanks to my mother I am incredibly fast, agile, strong, and my reflexes are incredible. According to my mother I have my father's intellect, and his peak physical condition."
"Well, alrighty then." Jason said.
"I've told you about me, now spill."
"Fine. I'm not from around here. My dad was a gang member who tried turning his life around when he found out that my mother was pregnant with me, but he got involved with the wrong guy. He went to prison for that bastard and left my mom alone to try and take care of me. Unfortunately shit hit the fan and I ended up on the streets. That is, until
he
found me." Jason said with venom behind his words. "He trained me to fight criminals, and I did, but he said that I was too violent. He took me off duty until I wasn't so reckless, but I followed him. I thought that I could take down the worst monster to ever set foot on the world... I was wrong. That monster tortured and killed me, but I came back."
"How did you come back? Explain."
"I was sent into a pool of water called the Lazarus Pit. It has the effect of healing a person, but they weren't sure if it would bring someone back from the dead. I was their Guinea pig. I came back different. Angry; but that wasn't all. I also came back better. As far as I know I was brought back to the peak of human physical condition. My Speed, my strength, my reflexes. All of it was increased to be at peak physical condition, but my mind was also altered. I knew things. Tactics, strategy, I knew things that I hadn't known before. Thanks to my dip in the Lazarus Pit, I was smarter. Not a genius or anything, but I was smarter, and I could think clearer than I'd ever thought before."
"What happened next?"
"I trained like you wouldn't believe. I was given teachers to teach me how to be an expert in hand-to-hand combat, weapons combat, espionage, sabotage, explosives, any and all vehicles. I learned so much, but then I found out that he hadn't killed him, and worse than that. He took on a replacement. That ass hole replaced me. I trained to kill them, but what I realized was that it would be better for me to make
him
kill the monster. He'd let that filth plague the world for too damn long, and he needed to right that wrong."
"So, what did you do?"
"I went back home, and I took over the crime in the city. For once criminals actually had something to fear. They weren't afraid that he would throw them in prison. They were afraid that I would kill them."
"Did you?"
"Yes. I killed so many of them that they called in professional killers."
"So, what happened?"
"He showed up and helped me."
"I thought you hated him."
"I did. I knew he would show up. I was counting on it. He showed up and we fought them until I killed one of them. Then the criminals called in the big guy. The guy I was hoping they would call. They called him in, and I took him somewhere where I beat the ever living shit out of him, just like he'd done with me. Then I led him to the place where I forced him to confront the reality. I told him that he had a choice. Kill the monster who'd killed me, or I'd kill both of them."
"Did you?"
"No. He'd stepped up his game, and he was better prepared. If anything, my death taught him to be over prepared."
"So, what did you do?"
"I went and did more training. Formed a new group, fought other people, and when I came back, I'd changed. I learned how to be a better crime fighter. I used non-lethal methods of stopping criminals, and I formed a new team. Then I found out about the man who'd exploited my dad, and I went there with the intention to kill him. As far as I know I did."
"So, were you banished to republic city?"
"Yes."
"I see."
They walked in silence a few more minutes before Lara spoke up again.
"Despite the fact that you have killed people in the past, I have come to a conclusion."
"What is it?"
"You, Jason Todd, are a good person."
"I don't know if I'd go that far."
"I would." A new voice said jumping from a tree.
They looked at the owner of the voice to see Montgomery standing in front of them.
Lara ran around him before she ran back to Jason's side. "You smell heavily of Fornication, and Fire Bending. Conclusion. You were having sexual intercourse with a Fire Bender."
"Damn you're good." Montgomery said. "Can you tell what we were doing?"
"Not without a further, much more in depth examination. However, I can tell you that the Fire Bender you were involved with is pregnant, and from the smell of her hormones, she is... fast approaching her birthdate."
"How can you even tell that?" Montgomery asked.
"I have my father's intelligence. My mother says that he knew when she was ready to birth me before she did."
"Weird, but okay. So. What are we doing?"
"I'm going to Future Industries to look around. See if they are hiding something."
"Then let's go." Montgomery said.
"Shouldn't you be with Halo?" Jason asked.
"Shouldn't you be with Korra, making her scream your name?" Montgomery countered.
"I concur." Lara said. "Your heart rate was elevated, and you were aroused after you came back from talking with Korra. You could have stayed."
"I have a job to do."
"Fine. Let's get this over with so you and Korra can get on with the horizontal love dance."
Jason went red. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"I'm not with the woman I fell in love with yesterday."
"You just met Halo. How can you love her after two days of sex?"
"You misunderstand. Sex is two people just trying to pass the time. We were making love."
"How do you know it's not her hormones?" Lara asked. "Pregnant women have hormones."
"Isn't having sex with a pregnant woman bad for the baby?" Jason asked.
"No." Lara said. "Actually, it can have many advantages to her mental, emotional, and physical health, and can have a positive effect on the baby. If the mother is happy and healthy, the baby will be happy and healthy."
"What, are you studying to be a doctor or something?" Jason asked.
"No. I am a doctor."
Jason's lower jaw hit the sidewalk. "What the hell! How can you be a doctor? You can't be older than eighteen!"
"It is impolite to ask a woman her age, but seeing as I do not understand that I will tell you. My name is Lara, I am 26 years old, I am 5' 5", I weigh 126 LBS, my measurements are 30X26X36."
"Damn!" Montgomery said looking at Lara. "You got hit with the ass jackpot if your ass is that big."
"I do not understand your excitement. Everyone has a, to use your vulgar choice of words, an ass. What makes mine so special that you have to call it out?"
"You didn't get fucked in high school, did you?"
"If you are asking if I had intercourse in high school then the answer is no., I graduated high school at age 10, graduated College as a med student at age 17, and was a licensed doctor by age 21."
"Holy fuck." Jason Said. "I thought you were from this world. Does that mean that you aren't?"
"Hell no!" Montgomery said. "You remember that I said that I'm the biggest nerd where I'm from? It wasn't an exaggeration. I come from a world where knowledge is power, and I found out how to travel to alternate dimensions and universes."
"How?"
"Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Side of Dimensions gave me the idea."
"My father came to this world where he met my mother. He loved her, but he chose her to be my mother after he saw that she had the specific training he wanted me to learn. Then he taught me everything that he could, and when I finished my training, he took me back to his world where I took a placement test that told me I was best suited for high school. I graduated and went to college before becoming a doctor."
"How are you here?" Jason asked. "Shouldn't you be in a hospital?"
"I am. My father taught me how to replicate myself. I did so, and my replica is working in the hospital when I'm here."
"Wait. You know how to jump between dimensions too?"
"Yes. Mine is a bit different though. Once my clone disappears, I appear in its place and have all of its memories, so I know what I've missed and get caught up on everything. My clones also keep me sexually healthy. You should really be having sexual intercourse regularly. Otherwise, it could lead to problems." She looked at Jason.
"What?" He asked.
"Have you been sexually active?"
"That's not something you ask someone!"
"Well, I am a doctor, and I can be the doctor for this group, and your family."
"Have you ever delivered a baby?" Montgomery asked.
"Only about a dozen or so."
"Will you deliver Halo's when it's time?"
"If Halo doesn't give birth while you two are involved, yes."
Jason rubbed his head. "What the fuck even is my life anymore?"
"Oh, get over yourself." Montgomery said. "This is great. We've got a real Team now. We've got Jason who's the Tanky powerhouse, me who's the support specialist, and Lara who's the Support healer. Now. Let's go do whatever it is Jason needs help doing!"
Jason jumped through an open window and walked through the factory. He walked up the stairs and to an office. He picked the lock and walked through the door. He went to Hiroshi's desk and checked it. The doors were locked. He picked them.
"Oh, come on man." Montgomery said. "Are you really going to look through another man's desk? What if he has a one hundred- and fifty-year-old bottle of Scotch in there, or what if that's where he keeps his dirty magazines?"
"Please." Lara said. "Why would he keep his porn at work?"
"There is a reason why they have the acronym NSFW." Jason said. "Someone did it, so they had to make it a rule."
"Fair point."
They looked through Hiroshi's desk and found plans.
"Holy shit!" Montgomery said. "He's got plans for Underwater Mines, Bi-Planes, Mecha tanks. What is this guy planning?"
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say that he's planning something big." Lara said.
"Shit Sherlock, first name no." Jason said. "Let's see... What's this?"
"What is it?" Montgomery asked.
"Platinum. It says that his Mecha Tanks are made out of Platinum... Why?"
"You mean you don't know that Platinum isn't Bendable?"
"What? No!"
"Well yeah. You can't Metal Bend Platinum, it's too pure. You can only Super heat it, but your fire needs to be like four thousand degrees."
"Damn. Looks like I need to see how hot my fire is."
"Well let's go to the Pro-Bending Arena and run some tests."
"Okay. I want to check this place out some more."
"wouldn't you rather be checking out Korra?" Montgomery asked.
"Fuck off." Jason said before he walked through the Factory. He walked around the Perimeter and checked the walls.
"What are you looking for?" Lara asked.
"Any seams that could be secret tunnels."
Meanwhile in the afterlife.
"NO!" Sokka yelled as he woke up in a cold sweat.
"What's wrong?" Suki asked waking up.
"Nothing." Sokka said. "Just a bad dream."
"How about I put on some music to help you get back to sleep?"
"Okay." Sokka said. "Let me shower first."
"Mind if I join you?" She asked.
"Not at all." He spoke.
They got up and went to the bathroom, after they showered and changed into clean sleepwear they slid into bed. Suki started the Phonograph, and that music started playing...
"Two lovers..."
Sokka facepalmed and pulled Suki closer.
"Good night Sokka." Suki said.
"Good night, Suki." Sokka said before he fell asleep.
Jason kept looking for secret tunnels.
"Why don't you try using your Ground Penetrating sonar?" Lara asked.
"Because he could be penetrating Korra." Montgomery said.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Jason yelled sending a lightning bolt at Montgomery.
Montgomery glowed red and blue before the lightning bolt hit and he flexed. "Oh! Hell yeah! That's the good shit!"
"What the hell just happened?"
"You just recharged me. Thank you Izzet technology."
"Can't you be useful?"
"Well. I suppose that I could summon the Autobots to help, but republic City isn't ready for 20-foot robots."
"Wait. What?"
"Yeah. There is a universe in this crazy Multiverse that is your life where you team up with robots to defend the world."
"Do I get one of the robots?"
"You get four technically. Two that are your signature pistols that can combine to form a sniper rifle, one that makes up your helmet and jacket, and your ride which has three modes. Robot, car and motorcycle, and plane. The motorcycle is the head, and the car is the body."
"What the hell! Can you bring them here?"
"Not without starting a paradox."
"A Paradox?"
"Yes. You see. You and the other Yous can't meet unless certain circumstances are met."
"Like what, the Multiverse imploding?"
"Yes. If the Multiverse were to be in danger, you and the other Yous could meet up and protect the Multiverse. If you were to meet in any other circumstance... those worlds would die. One would implode because the conditions have not been met, and two of you exist in the same world. The other universe would die because you are not there to protect it. Believe it or not you play a very important part in keeping the universes you are sent to alive."
"What makes me so special? I'm just a kid from Gotham."
"It's not you necessarily. It's what you represent."
"What do I represent in the Multiverse?"
"You represent the strength and resilience to fight and survive."
"You do realize that I died, right?"
"But you came back from the dead. No matter how you come back, you came back. You have withstood everything that was thrown at you and you survive. That is what you stand for. The determination and the will to survive and fight. Do you have any idea how big of a roll you play in each universe you go to?"
"No. Not really."
"Let me just say this. If not for you. The universes would end a lot different, and for the worse. You are the linchpin."
"Yeah right."
"You don't believe me?"
"Not really."
"Thanks to you, Lin knows that they will be walking into a trap tomorrow. Thanks to you... Nope. I can't say that. It might not happen if I do."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"I can't tell you. Otherwise, it might not happen, and it needs to happen for the future of this world."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Nope. I'm leaving. Montey has left the building."
With that Montey walked through a doorway and disappeared.
"What the hell do you think that was about?" Jason asked.
"I don't know..." Lara said. "... but I'm going to find out." She ran at the door Montgomery walked through and disappeared too."
"What the fuck is happening!?" Jason demanded.
Meanwhile, in Montgomery's room.
"Care to explain what that was all about?" Lara asked.
"Not particularly."
"Do it anyway."
"Fine, but do not tell Jason, Asami, Korra, or Halo."
"Fine. Now tell me."
"Okay, okay." Montgomery said running his hand through his hair. "So, Jason gets captured in the next few years."
"And we can't tell him that, why?"
"Because. His two options are get captured or die."
"Or just not confronting what would capture or kill him."
"Not possible. Either he will meet and get captured, meet them and die, they confront him and capture him, or confront him and kill him. That is the only way this can end."
"Okay. So, why is that important, and why can't we tell Asami, Korra, and Halo?"
"Because. They will try and make it so that it doesn't happen."
"And that's a bad thing?"
"Normally I would say no, but in this instance it is."
"Why?"
"Because. So much has changed because of Jason being involved. Halo, her child, Azin, Baani, us. It's all different. Do you realize how one sided we make everything?"
"Us as in the two of us, or us in general?"
"In general. We make the most O.P. teams ever. We've got Team Avatar with Korra, Mako, Bolin, and Asami. We've got Team Red Hood with Jason, Me, You, and Halo. And we've got the Teen Team with Azin, Baani, Halo's, Korra's and Asami's kids... You didn't hear that."
"Yes, I did."
"Damn it!" Montgomery yelled as he glowed black, and Lara swayed before she stood up. "What part of a peak mental intelligence don't you get? I was able to reroute the information to another part of my brain. I still remember."
"Fuck! Don't tell anyone! Don't tell Jason, don't tell Korra, Asami, or Halo... well, NO! Don't even tell Halo. Don't tell anyone about the Teen Team! Please!"
"No promises, but I do have a question."
"What?"
"What about me? Don't I have a child the joins the Teen Team? Stupid name by the way."
"Well, I'm sorry, but Teen Titans and Young Justice were already taken!"
"And you are supposed to have creation magic. Why not just use that to make up a new name?"
"Copyright laws."
"Wow. I pity you right now. But you didn't answer my question. Do I have a child in this world?"
"Not that I've seen. Don't you view things scientifically?"
"Logically, but yes; and it's logical to have a child. I swing both ways."
"You do?"
"Yes. Logically it's the best way to go because men offer the ability to procreate and can offer some pleasure, and women because they know how to be gentle and can offer so much more."
"Unless they are abusive or into BDSM."
"I'll have you know that BDSM is actually very stress relieving and offers more trust into the relationship than any other relationships. You have to trust that your partner will not hurt you more than you can handle and trust them to stop if you use your safe word. There is also a great deal of trust when they use a gag that they will not go over the amount of pain you two discussed."
"What?"
"Oh, and one more thing. There are Dominators and Dominatrixes. Which means that both men and women take up the roll of Master and Mistress. I've spent time with both of them."
"How do you have the time?"
"Clones. As I said. It is very stress relieving to have all of your burdens ripped away from you as another dominates you for an hour."
Montgomery tried not to imagine Lara tied up in shiny black leather that left her most sensitive regions exposed for someone to abuse... and he failed.
"You know." Lara said. "I might have to steal Asami from Mako myself."
"You could do a three-way relationship with them?" Montgomery suggested.
"No. Mako is... how should I say this?"
"An ass?"
"No."
"A bitch?"
"No."
"A..."
"It's a person who wants what they want no matter who else gets hurt so long as they are please or satisfied. Someone who will fuck their partner and stop once they have had their release while not letting their partner have theirs even if it means that they have to finish as fast as they can, and they lie about letting them have release next time only to not give it to them."
"A manipulative ass hole?"
"Manipulative! Yes! Thank you."
"You're welcome."
"Yes. Mako is manipulative and would not satisfy me. Neither would Bolin, though that's not his fault. He's too naive. I would have to teach him how to please me, and by the time I had finished I wouldn't be aroused anymore. No. I need someone who will be able to satisfy me for long periods of time. Someone who can be rough if I want him to. Someone who will give me a strong child..."
"So, you're going to ask Jason to knock you up?" Montgomery asked.
Lara glared at him before she continued speaking. "Someone who isn't a Bender."
"Why don't you want to be knocked up by a Bender?"
"Because. They hold the Genetic code to being able to Bend. I intend to study my child in a capacity to see if Amon is right, and Bender's are the route of all evil. So, I will birth a child who will grow up alongside other Benders and see what happens."
"You're going to experiment on your own kid?"
"No. I'm going to observe my child to see if non-Benders truly are treated worse than Benders. What better way than to let them grow up with friends who are Benders and non-Benders and live in a society of Benders and non-Benders. Now all that's left to do is find the male specimen who will give me his seed to accomplish my goal..." She looked at Montgomery. "... oh look. A volunteer."
"Um..." Montgomery said before he ran only to fall limply to the floor.
"Please do not make this harder than it has to be."
"You do realize that if you do this, it could fall under rape or non-consent, right?"
"I will wait for your consent. It is only logical that two people, alone in this hectic world would need to find solace with one another."
"Except I already have Halo."
"I need a non-Bender, preferably not from this world, to give me his seed so that I can conduct my experiment. I will wait, but I am sure that I can make you give consent, without even touching you, in five minutes."
"I'll make a deal with you. If I give you, my consent. I get to go back to Halo, and you have to win Asami over after Mako dumps her the first time, but you have to help me later on."
"What do you need my help for."
"Nothing much. Just convince Asami that you want to have a kid with her and convince her to use Jason as the baby daddy."
"Why Jason specifically."
"Do you really want to be raising Mako's kid?"
"Fair point. Do I have your permission?"
"Yeah. Fine. I'll knock you up."
"Excellent." Lara said as she hit the right pressure points to unfreeze Montgomery. "Where would you like to do this?
Jason grumbled to himself and kept looking. He was just about to call it a night when he sensed something coming from behind a wall. He touched it and felt the warmth rise off of it. Even through his fire proofing he could feel heat. He ripped the panel off the wall and saw a hidden factory under the factory. He looked around and saw vats of molten metal being dumped into molds to create pieces of something. It wasn't a Sato-Mobile that was for sure.
He grappled down and began walking through the heat, and he had an idea. He could create a mist out of the water vapor in the air. Why couldn't he do the same thing here? He pulled the steam around him and walked through the factory hidden by the steam. He made his way to a big ass door and rolled it up. It led to a tunnel.
He followed the tunnel until he nearly ran into another door, almost literally. He put his ear to the door and listened.
"That's right."
Hiroshi Sato said on the other side.
"Tomorrow I want you to tell the Police the truth. Lead them here, and we will crush them once and for all. They will fall before the might of our Mecha-Tanks."
"Yes sir Mr. Sato."
"One other thing. Leave my daughter out of this. I don't want her anywhere near this fight."
"Sure thing Mr. Sato."
The man said.
Jason took off running. He needed to spring the trap tomorrow. He needed help. If he fucked up like he did at the Agni Kai's... Well. He was pretty sure that Hiroshi wasn't going to let him live so long as Asami became pregnant with his child. He ran back to the factory and closed the door. He ran to the ledge and vaulted up before he pushed the panel back into place and smoothed it out. He memorized where it was and was about to leave the factory when he remembered Montgomery and Lara. He ran through the door they went through and found... an empty office.
"Did they leave without me?" He ran through the factory but couldn't find them. He jumped out a window and swung to the police station.
Lin was sitting at her desk finishing up the paperwork for the search of Future Industries the following day when someone swung through the open window and landed on her desk.
"It's a trap."
Jason said.
"Get off my desk and tell me what you mean!" She snapped.
Jason jumped off her desk and looked at her.
"It's a trap."
"Explain."
"I went and searched Future Industries. I found plans that Hiroshi has in his office. He is planning something big. He has plans for underwater mines, bi-planes, and Mecha-Tanks."
"Okay?"
"That's not all. The Mecha-Tanks are made out of Platinum."
"Platinum! Are you sure?"
"Yes, and that's not all. I found a hidden factory in his factory."
"Seriously?"
"Yes. They were making the Mecha-Tanks, and I found a tunnel that led to somewhere. Hiroshi was saying that he needed someone to lead you guys to that spot, and you would fall."
"Okay. Good work. I'll see you tomorrow for the raid."
"Actually chief. I was hoping that I could lead a second group through the tunnel to your Location, and strike from behind. They'll never see it coming."
"You might be right. Okay. Meet here for the raid, and then go your route."
"Right. See you tomorrow chief."
"See you Red Hood."
Jason swung out the window with his grapples and home. When he walked in, he walked up the stairs and heard soft, heavy breathing coming from Halo's room. He walked to the door and listened. "Halo." He knocked.
"Y-Ye-Yes?" Halo asked.
"Are you okay?"
"N-not really."
"What's wrong?"
"The baby is just really active. I can't sleep."
"May I come in?"
"Y-yes."
Jason went in and saw Halo sitting on her bed, against the wall with pillows propping her up and rubbing her swollen stomach. "Did you drink coffee before you went to bed?"
"Y-yes."
"That's probably why. The caffeine probably supercharged the kid."
"I'm never drinking coffee while pregnant again." She spoke. "Where's Montey?"
"I'm not sure. He came with me to the factory I was investigating, and then he just split."
"Oh. He probably went home for the night."
"Halo?"
"Y-yes?"
"I know that what we had was strictly business, but do you love Montgomery, or is it just your hormones talking?"
"I don't know. Right now, it's just the hormones, but after I give birth, I want to see if what we have is real."
"Okay."
Halo pushed herself against the wall and groaned out in pain.
"What is it? What's wrong?"
"I don't know, but it hurts, a lot."
Jason looked out the window. "Montgomery." He spoke. "If you can hear me..."
"AHH!" Halo screamed.
"Get your ass over here now."
Korra came running in. "What's going on!" She demanded.
"I think Halo is going into Labor!" Jason snapped.
"Then I guess it's a good thing I'm here." Montgomery said walking through the door followed by Lara.
"Lay her down." Lara said in a calm, commanding tone. "I'll deliver the baby here. Unless Montgomery here would like to fuck her through her labor."
"Is that even possible?" Korra asked.
"Technically, but that would be awkward as hell."
"Hey!" Montgomery yelled indignantly. "I..."
"MONTEY!" Halo shouted. "EITHER FUCK ME OR LEAVE!"
Everyone looked from Montgomery to Halo back to Montgomery.
"3...2...1." Jason said before he grabbed Korra and they left the room.
"What's going on?" Azin asked as he and Baani walked out of their rooms.
"Let's go downstairs." Jason said.
They headed downstairs and to the kitchen where Jason closed the door as best, he could before he put some coffee onto perk.
"So." Korra said. "That was awkward."
"Yeah." Jason agreed.
"Jason!" Lara called. "I need clean towels, hot water, and a wooden spoon or something equivalent."
Jason grabbed the pan filled it with hot water and carried it upstairs while using his fire to heat it.
Korra ran to the linens closet and grabbed all the towels they had, plus extra sheets.
Azin and Baani brought all of the cooking spoons upstairs. As they crested the stair, they heard Halo yell. "IF YOU PUT THAT FUCKING BRIDLE IN MY MOUTH, I'LL BURN YOU ALIVE!"
"A bridle?" Lara asked. "Why didn't I think of that? Give it to me."
"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM..." Halo yelled before she began growling.
"There. That should help, with the noise at least. Now. Montgomery. Get the fuck out of here. Jason can come in since he's the father, you on the other hand will probably do more harm than good."
Montgomery left and looked at Jason. "She wants you in there."
"I heard." Jason said walking in.
Montgomery looked at Korra, Azin, and Baani. "Hey." He spoke.
"Hello?" Korra said before she walked in and placed the towels and sheets on the dresser and left.
Jason walked in with the water and placed it on the floor. He looked at Lara. "What do you want me to do?"
"Korra! Do you have any training in being a healer in any capacity!"
"I can wipe sweat away!"
"Get in here! I need you to wipe sweat away, and I need you to use the hot water to wipe her stomach, Vagina, and thighs."
"What!"
"Just do it! It will relax her muscles and help activate her body's natural pain killers!"
Something flew at them, and Jason caught it.
"It's a numbing agent!" Montgomery yelled. "It's better than using some archaic outdated method."
"Were in the 1920's!" Lara yelled. "Their biggest breakthrough was Penicillin!"
"Use that!"
Lara took the bottle from Jason and began rubbing the numbing agent on Halo's stomach, vagina, and thighs. "How long does it take to kick in."
"3... 2...1...now."
Halo's groans of pain were replaced with moans of displeasure.
"Thank you 50th century." Montgomery said.
"Okay." Lara said. "Jason. You need to try and keep Halo calm. Halo. I need you to wait, breathe, and push when the time comes."
"What about a C-section?" Jason asked.
"Not here. If I was in a hospital yes, but not here. Everyone hold on. We're going to be here for a while."
"How long?" Korra asked.
"Halo. Is this your first pregnancy?"
"Uh huh." She grunted.
"We could be here for up to twenty-four hours. Maybe longer."
Halo gripped Jason's hand tightly and moaned in discomfort.
"Okay. Halo. That's a contraction. You will have those until you are ready to give birth, then you'll be ready to give birth."
"Okay."
Thirteen hours later.
"Come on Halo!" Lara shouted. "One more big push!"
Halo pushed and felt relief as she pushed her child out of her womb.
"Yes!" Halo praised. "It's a girl!" She said as the baby began crying. "Korra, Jason, can you use Water Bending to heal her?"
"The baby or Halo?"
"The baby."
Korra used Water Bending to clean her off before Jason pulled the water from the air wrapping her in it up to her neck while Korra used her healing to heal the baby. "Why did you have us heal her?"
"She was born at thirty weeks." Lara said. "It's a condition called being born premature. When I'm from it's not as big a problem because we have the technology to help babies recover, but in this ass backwards time I'm surprised any babies are born"
"Hey that's not fair." Korra said.
"Really?" Lara asked. "How many babies die every year?"
Korra went silent before saying. "Not as many as survive."
"But?"
"Still more than we like."
"Exactly." Lara said taking the baby and wrapping her in one of the sheets and handing her to Halo before helping Halo remove the Placenta, and let it set for two minutes before cutting the umbilical cord and wrapping some tape around the end. "We'll leave you alone." She said as she pulled Korra with her.
Jason got up to follow, but Halo grabbed his hand. "Stay." She speaks.
"Really?"
"Yes. Remember, you wanted to be a part of our child's life. I won't deny you that. What should we name her?"
Jason thought about that. "The only names I've got are Kara, Artemis, Barbara, Cassandra, Stephanie, Harper, Coriander, Helena, Kate, Selena, Harleen, Diana... okay that's a lot of names actually."
"Hm." Halo said. "What about Selene?"
"Okay."
"Selene Todd."
"Wh-what?"
"You wanted to be a part of her life, so I'm giving her your last name so she will always know who she is."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now. Get out of here so I can feed her and tell Montey to get his ass in here."
"Why Montgomery?"
"I just gave birth. Don't worry. I may have an insanely high sex drive, but I won't fuck him right after I gave birth... I'll wait a week or two. Probably a week if I'm being honest."
"I'll leave now." Jason said leaving the room. "Montgomery!" He called. "Halo wants you."
"So soon after giving birth?"
"No, you idiot. She probably wants you to be the babysitter while she sleeps."
"Oh. Okay."
"By the way." Jason said grabbing his arm. "If you hurt my daughter. No one in the history of torture's been tortured with torture like the torture you'll be tortured with!"
"Okay, okay. Calm your tits. Your daughter will come to no harm under my care."
"Make sure she doesn't. Also. Make sure that you and Lara meet me at the Factory tonight."
"Seriously? After being awake for nearly two days?"
"Seriously. My record is three days."
"Dude. Sleep."
"I will, once this is over. They need me."
"Fine, but if you don't sleep after this, I'm having Lara make you a sedative so strong you'll sleep for a week."
"Fine."
"And I'll have her make an Aphrodisiac that will make Korra fall for you so hard..."
Jason flipped Montgomery off and walked downstairs. He poured himself a cup of coffee and downed it before he emptied the pot and made a fresh batch. "Hey Korra. Are you going to be all right for the raid tonight?"
"I don't know. I'll drink plenty of coffee."
Jason grabbed the Alcohol and drank a third of the bottle. "Drink some Alcohol. It will make your fire more potent."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Don't drink enough to get drunk, just enough to maybe get a buzz."
"Okay. Why?"
"You're going to need it. Your fire needs to be the hottest it's ever been. In fact, go eat some greasy food too. The hotter your fire is, the better."
"Okaaaay?"
"You'll thank me later."
That night.
Jason waited at the factory for Lara and Montgomery to show up. He caught something that came flying at him.
"Drink up." Montgomery said.
Jason looked at it and saw a 5 Hour Energy. He unscrewed the cap and downed it. "You guys ready?"
"Let's go." Montgomery said taking a bracelet from his pocket and slid it on. It unfolded into a blade with five slots on top. It had an electronic device on it facing Montgomery, and he put a... a deck of cards into it.
"What the hell is that?" Jason asked.
"It's my Duel Disk. It's how I'm able to fight alongside you... well actually I'll be fighting behind you to the left or right."
"Whatever. Let's go."
They walked into the Factory and towards the place where Jason entered the hidden factory. He pried it off and they went through. He led them through the tunnel to the door and placed his hand on it. "Fuck. This is Platinum."
"Out of the way." Montgomery said pulling cards from his deck and placing them on the blade. "'Minefield Golems'! Stand next to the door! We'll blow it the fuck up!"
Three hulking figures that who looked like robots with mines for heads walked to the wall.
"Next I activate three 'Minefield Eruptions'! BACK UP!"
Jason jumped back as the 'Minefield Golems' exploded. He threw up a wall of earth and pulled a bottle out of his jacket and drank as much as he could before dropping it with a gasp.
Lara looked at it and glared at him. "Seriously!? 100 proof alcohol! Where the hell did you get this?"
"Bought it." Jason said before he activated his Fire Bending sending fire up his arms. The tunnel immediately became a furnace and Montgomery glowed blue and caused a blue shield to appear in front of him and Lara to block most of the heat.
Jason walked through the hole in the wall and saw six Mecha-Tanks attacking Korra, Tenzin, and Lin. The other officers were down and being loaded into a truck. "Knock, Knock." He said before blasting Equalist's with fire and incinerating them, bones and all. He aimed at the Mecha-Tanks and blasted them melting the metal.
"Holy shit!" Montgomery said. "Jason is melting the Mecha-Tanks!"
"That would mean..." Lara said. "...that his fire is hotter than 4000 degrees Fahrenheit!"
"How are we still alive!? Shouldn't the oxygen in our lungs be ripped out of our bodies or something!?"
"No, but he will burn the oxygen in the air to sustain this until there is nothing left." Lara said.
"That's bad right?"
"Not for you seeing as you don't have any brain cells, but for the people who do have brain cells, yes. Very bad."
"Hey! I resent that."
"More like you resemble that."
Jason jumped at the Mecha-Tank and kicked it with a Fiery spin kick that melted through the metal and caught the driver on fire. He jumped off and spun before bringing his foot down on the next tank melting through the cockpit and incinerating that driver. He spun into the next one and turned it into a lump of molten metal with the driver still inside.
He began walking to the next one when he fell down and grabbed his chest.
"JASON!" Lara and Korra yelled in unison.
Montgomery glowed white and blue and froze Jason where he lay.
A Mecha-Tank ran over him.
"NO!" Korra yelled running over to the Mecha-Tank and blasting it with a gout of fire. "GET OFF HIM!" She roared hitting it again with her fire. She jumped in the air to avoid a grapple only to be hit with another sending her into a wall and causing her to lose consciousness.
"DO SOMETHING!" Lara yelled.
"I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to use this, but... SHENRON! I WISH THAT EVERYONE WHO ISN'T IN A MECHA-TANK WERE BACK AT JASON'S HOUSE!"
"Your! Wish! Has! Been! Granted!"
A deep booming voice said.
There was a flash of light, and suddenly the room had three slightly damaged Mecha-Tanks in it. The pilots looked at each other, confused at what had happened.
Jason's house.
There was a flash of light and suddenly the Police, Lin, Tenzin, Korra, Jason, Montgomery, Lara, Mako, Bolin, Asami, and two Equalists were laying on the grass outside Jason's house.
The Equalist's got up, but two badly burnt arms grabbed them by their throats followed by a sickening snap.
"The... equalists... can't... find... this... place." Jason gasped before he fell to the ground and passed out.
"JASON!" Korra yelled. "JASON! JASON! JASON!"
