Casey called dibs when he and Donnie were leaving the lair and Donatello just chuckled as he handed his husband the keys. The couple drove off and headed toward April and Mikey’s place.
Mikey walked out of the bedroom and stood in front of the tv. He pulled at the sweater he’s wearing
“April,I love this sweater.” Mikey said. “It’s so comfy.” April hugged her turtle and gave him a kiss.
“I want to thank you for coming out with me last night.” She told him. “I knew that aunt Mimi was going to love you.” April and Michelangelo’s cell shells went off at the same time.
“Cowabunga Carl,party planing services.” Michelangelo said once he answered his phone.
“Mikey,it’s me Casey.” Casey said. “We’re outside.”
“Here.” Mikey said handing April his phone.
“I didn’t have time to send raph and keno the pies.”
Michelangelo walked to the kitchen and came out with four pies stacked on top of each other.
“Mikey,sweetie.” April said. “ you didn’t have to make that many pies.”
“I know.” Michelangelo said as they walked out of the apartment. “I couldn’t help myself.”
Casey slid open the back door and April got in first.
Then Mikey handed her the pies.
“Are we picking up Leo?” Mikey asked as he got in.
“No, he and karai are driving up there in his car.” Donatello said. “He asked raph if he could bring kenshi, and raph told him yes.”
Mikey and Casey looked at each other.
“Do we trust that dude now?” Mikey asked.
“Leo seems to trust him.” April said.
Donatello snorted. “Donnie.” April warned.
“What?” Donatello said. “I haven’t said anything.”
“ that snort said everything that needed to be said. She said knowingly.
“Our older brother is keeping information from us.” Donatello said. “He knows something.”
The drive into Northampton was short and the crew didn’t know what to make of it.
They drove by keno’s and were shocked by what they saw. “There’s a line going around the building.” Mikey said pleased.
“Well, a lot of people are saying that they’re sick and tired of turkey.” Casey said as he turned down the dirt road. “Hey, is that bebop and rocksteady?” Mikey said as they drove onto the property.
Casey stopped the van and turned off the engine.
He got out went around and opened the door.
Mikey handed Casey All four boxes of pies and jumped out once the older man moved out of the way. Mikey then helped April out of the van.
The door to house opens and raph walks out.
“Owen,my dude.” The turtle says as the rhino walks up the steps. The friends hug each other.
Donatello cleared his throat.
The duo turns around and sees the quartet staring at them.
The door opens and keno walks onto the porch.
Anton walks past raph and Owen walking into the house.
“Took you guys long enough.” Raph says letting go of Owen and walking up toward his family.
“Owen, I’ll meet you inside.” Raph says to his friend.
The rhino nods and goes into the house.
Raph looks at his family once more and rolls his eyes. He walks up the steps and goes to the door opening it. “ are you going to stand there or are you goin to bring your asses in this house?”
Michelangelo and April go first with Casey and Donnie following behind.
Once they’re inside they see two women sitting on the couch.
Keno and Anton are sitting at the dining room table talking.
“Just checked on the roast.” Owen said. “It’s almost done.”
“Thank you,old friend.” Raphael said.
“Old friend?” Donatello said.
“Owen and I were hanging out for years.” Raphael said.
“Oh.” Donatello said. “You wouldn’t know because you were too busy sucking Casey’s face and other parts the whole time.” Raphael said obviously annoyed. “So,is there a reason you’re acting shitty with my guests or…..” Raphael asked his brother.
“I’m just alittle on edge.” Donnie said. “Why?” Raphael asked.” What gives?”
April and Mikey go to the couch.
“I’m a close personal friend of the family.” April said to the girls on the couch.
“I’m his wife .” She says pointing to Michelangelo.
“I’m LaToya.” The first girl says. “Anton is my little brother.”
The second girl gets up and hugs both April and Mikey. “ I’m Antoinette.” She says letting them go.
“Owen’s my big brother.” She sits back down motioning for them to sit on the other couch.
“ back when Owen and ant lived in that apartment that shredder set them up in, I remember seeing raphael come over all the time.” Antoinette said.
“You do.” April replied. “Yeah, I thought it was cool that they had friends who could relate to what they were going through.” Latoya responded. “ I know mama was hella worried about what Tony was doing and where he was living.”
“Mama Laverne, was the first one who said that the boys should move back here.” Antoinette said.
“Neither of anybody on either side of the family was going to move back to this town.”
“My black ass sure wasn’t.” Latoya said.” But our brothers had history here.”
“Their summers spent here back In the day were when they fell in love.” Antoinette revealed.
“I understand.” April said.” When we were needing a break and we came here.” Mikey nodded along.
“We also found love in this quiet little town.”
The doorbell rung. “Now who would be using the doorbell?” Casey asked.
Raphael walked toward the door and opened it.
“Hey brother.” Raphael said. He moved out of the way and let leonardo in. Karai and kenshi were behind him. Raph hugged his older brother and then directed him into the living area.
“Happy holidays,everyone.” Leo said to whole room.
Everyone went back to what their were doing.
A whole hour passed and then the doorbell rung again.
“I didn’t know we were going to have so many guests.” Keno said opening the door.
“Is this the Hamato farm?” A man says to keno.
“Yes it is.” Keno says. Raphael comes to the door.
“Wow, look at you.” He says to raph.
“You’ve gotten so big and tall.” The man chuckled.
“I’m sorry.” Raphael said. “Who are you?”
“I’m your older brother.” The man says hugging raphael. He lets go and stands back.
“I don’t mean to bother you but can I come in?” He said.” It’s terribly cold out here.”
Raphael blinked twice before moving out of the way.
The man walked in and Leo dropped his glass.
It shattering into tiny pieces on the floor.
“Zhou,what are you doing here?” Leo said trying to calm down.
“Leo,who is this?” Raphael asked. “He’s saying he’s our older brother.”
“But that can’t be possible because father didn’t have any other children.” Donatello said walking up.
Leonardo stared daggers at Donatello.
“How did you get here?” Leonardo asked zhou.
“Which one of you is Mikey?” Zhou asked.
Mikey raised his hand. “Donnie,you were the one who Said that Leo was keeping something from us.
”I just happened to look up our family name and found out we have a niece.”
Michelangelo pulled out his shell cell and scrolled till he found a picture of namimi.
“This girl is our niece.” Mikey said showing the picture. “We have family in Japan.”
“I don’t know why master splinter kept his family from us.” Mikey said. “ our family,but I want to get to know them.”
“Raphael,is it?” Zhou said to him.
“Yes,that’s my name.” Raphael said.
“Father,named you all after his favorite artists from the Renaissance period.” Zhou said. “He told our grandmother that he would name his children after those people.”
“He did?” Mikey asked Zhou.
“Where’s our uncle?” Donatello asked.
“He’s at home.” Zhou said.
“Hopefully,one day all of you could visit Japan.”
Donatello looked at Leo and laughed.
“I don’t think that was ever going to happen.” Donatello said to Zhou.
“ because you were just planning on keeping us in the dark.” He said to Leo.
“How long did you know?” Donatello asked.
“Father, told me about our brother when we were younger.”
Leonardo said turning so that he was facing everyone.
“He said that he wanted you to know about Zhou.”
“So what you decided that it wasn’t best?” Donnie asked.
“ like I said at kenshi’s office last month.” Leo said.” There were things that I discovered, there were forces at bay.”
“ but, we still should have known, Leo.” Donatello said pissed off.
“ you don’t seem like you’re surprised.” Leonardo said walking up to Donnie.
“Because I put a bug in kenshi’s office.” Donatello said.
“You’re the reason Mikey went snooping.” Leo said annoyed.
“You’re leaving and meeting family members without telling us they exist and you have the gall to be pissed off right now?” Donatello said loudly.
“Keep your voice down.” Leo said.
“I’m done with you.” Donatello said.” I cannot even be in the same room with you.”
Donatello walked out of the room and Casey followed.
Raphael bought Zhou with him to the couch.
“This is my older brother, Zhou.” Raphael said to rock and bebop’s sisters.
“Antoinette.” She said shaking zhou’s hand.
“Letoya.” She said waving at him. “ the warthog is my brother.” “The rhino is mine.” Antoinette replies.
“Nice to meet you ladies.” Zhou says.
April and Mikey walk out to the back porch and find Donatello sitting on the porch swing with Casey trying to coax him back into the house.
“Come on,let’s go back inside.” Mikey says. “It’s time to open presents.”
Michelangelo holds out his hand and Donatello takes it. Casey and April follow behind.
Donatello comes back into the living room and sees raphael holding a present.
“What’s this?” Donatello asks. “Just a little something.” Raph teases.
Donatello opens the present and it’s a white coat.
“Wait is this a lab coat?” Donatello asks raphael.
“Yep,look at the pocket.” Raphael says.
“Dr.Hamato.” Donatello reads out loud.
“Now, your official.” Raphael says.
Donatello hugs raphael and his brother returns it.
Michelangelo brings over a long box and sets it in front of raph and keno.
Raphael rips off the wrapping paper and keno opens the box . Raph goes into the box and pulls out a pizza peel With his face engraved on it.
“Bro,really?” Raph shows the peel to everyone.
“You can use it at the restaurant.” Mikey said.
Raph grabs Mikey and gives him a big hug.
“There’s something else in here.” Keno says.
He pulls out an apron with his name on it.
“Mikey.” Keno says smiling. “You did not have to do this.”
“Merry Christmas,you guys.” Mikey says grinning proud of himself.
“ it’s our turn.” Owen said to the group.
He goes to the tree and pulls out a big box.
“From your best friends.” Anton said.
Keno opens the box and pulls out two leather jackets.
Engraved on the back of the jackets is the phrase
“ the Northampton mutants.”
“Wow, these are sick,” Raphael says.
“Now,everyone will know who the fuck you are.” Anton said raising a glass.
“Thank you,so much.” Keno says to the couple.
“We are so happy to have our family back together.”
Raphael said. “We’re glad to be spending Christmas together with you all.”
“Even members we just found out about.” Keno added on.
“We are eternally grateful to our friends, Anton and Owen.” Raphael said.” Glad that you two have moved here and that we have you here with us.”
“Grateful for my brothers.” Raphael continued.” Grateful for the brother that I just met.”
Owen bought the roast to the table and pulled out the knife and fork.
“Come on you guys.” Owen said. “It’s time to eat.”
Karai walked outside. “Are you going to stay out here?”
“Aren’t you supposed to be the patriarch now that your father is gone?”
Leo turned around and looked at his wife.
“Yes,I am.” Leonardo says.
He takes his wife’s hand and walks back into the house.
Donatello looks up when Leo comes into the dining room. “ you’re supposed to be at the head of the table.” Donatello says to Leo.
Leo smiles at his brother and walks to the head of the table. He picks up the knife and the fork and nods at Karai and kenshi.
The two sit down and Raphael and keno do the same. Then Leo motions for the rest of family to do the same.
Leo carves the roast and then plates them. Giving them to raph who passes them around the table.
Keno made sure that Zhou was sitting next to him.
When the dinner was over the family sat around Zhou and listened as he told stories he remembered hearing from his dad about him and yoshi when they younger. The house was filled with laughter and joy,
As it snowed heavily outside.
