Jinx PovJinx- “No! Isha!”Jinx’s heartbreaking scream was the last thing that could be heard before the final explosion.Everything was gone… her reason to keep living, her reason to keep fighting… her friend… she was just a kid and yet she had given her life to save hers, this wasn’t right. None of it where. On shaking legs she surrendered. Letting the enforsers take her away. She didn’t know what they would do to her and to be honest… she didn’t care. Not anymore. They threw her in a cell but before that they had taken all her belongings.. her accessories, her shoes, even her hair ties.Caitlynn had came by to speak with her, to yell at her and to tell her everything she had done was wrong and bad. But even after all she had done the piltover enforser had still given her a way out. But there was no use“do what you came here to do.” Was all she had said in a hope that they would someohe putt her out of her misery.Not long after that she had had an eye opening conversation with the ghosts in her head. now all she could think of was the echoes of Silcos voice. “Killing is a Cycle…” “one that started long before Vander and me. and it will continue long after the two of you”“Jinx…” “I think the cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away”.Suddanly a new, very familiar voice broke through the silenc“Jinx?”Vi? What was she doing here, she wheren’t supposed to be here.“what are you doing?”Her sister said something about finding a way to she could redeem herself to find a way she could use her explosives for a good reason and change things, like she had done with Zaun.“Sure Vi…” she said with a lifeless voice.Only a few seconds after that she could feel her sisters warm embrace.“you’re never gonna give up on me, are you?She raised her hand slightly in what looked like the beginning of a hug but turned into a hard punch in the stomach.“Hey?!” she could hear her sisters yell as she locked the cell door in front of her.“you don’t have to worry about me anymore. You don’t need to feel guilty about being happy. You deserve to be with her… There is no good version of me.” She said as she slowly backed away“what are you gonna do?!”“brake the cyckle. She said totally disappearing into the shadows behind her. Ekkos POV:He saw the small child gracefully make her way forwards through the firghing with one of Jinx’s guns in her hand. Without hesitation he jumped onto his hoaverboard and flew as fast as he could towards the child. Just when she had fired the gun he swept in and grabbed her just in time before they both could get seriously injured. The blast from the explosion made him loose control of his board and they half crashed into a tent nearby. It took a while for him to understand what just happened but when he got his contion back he looked at the passed our child in his arms. He could see a small streak of blood running down from a cut in her forehead but exept from that she seemed to be okay.“lets get you back to the hideout so someone can patch you up.”He looked around to find his hoaverboard totally crushed a few feet away, the hide out was not so far way so he picked the child up and began limping towards the firelight camp. Well there he had Scar sew her up and then he sat down beside her and waited for her to wake up. Hours past and he must have drifted of to sleep cause when he opened his eyes again he could see small glimpses of sunlight peak through the limbs and leaves of their tree. The child had opened her eyes and was now sitting up straight looking around confused and a little scares,“Hey kid, glad to see you’re up” he said and smiled at the kid beside him.When the child didn’t answer he tried asking her some questions“My name is Ekko, what’s your name?”She gestured something with her hands and he assumed that was a sign she couldn’t speak.”They sat there and “talked” for a while and He somehow managed to figure out her name and where she came from. and when the kid had gotten comfortable with him he showed her around and introduced her to some other kids her age.Not long after this he got transported into the Alternet universe and while he was gone Scar took care of Isha until he returned now knowing that there WAS a way to save Jinx.He asked Scar to look after Isha for a little longer while he headed out to search for Jinx.“don’t tell Isha that im looking for her. She will wanna come along and I cant put her through that kind of danger. Not after everything she’s been through already.What he didn’t know was that the blue and brown haired girl had listened to their whole conversation and knew exactly what she had to do. Follow him and help her save the only family she had left.. Jinx POVHer hair, cut short, the bar, set on fire, her childhood memories, gone. Everything was gone. This world was a wasteland where nothing could grow… it was her fault that she was here all alone. Her fault that everyone she got close to died, of left her. She held her chomper in her left hand and without hesitation she pulled the pin. Finally everything would be over… no more loss, no more suffering. Finally… she closed her eyes and…“WAIT!”“…” she turned her head slightly to see a familiar face“I just wanna talk to you.”“Get out of here, Ekko.”“I just…” he said but was cut of by jinx pulling the pin a second time. He responded in uning the Z-drive , to get a third chanse. “I just wanna talk to you pow—Jinx”Boom, she had pulled the pin again. And he used the Z-drive a third time. This time blood dizzled down his forehead and smoke oced of him.“you’re too late, Ekko.“WAIT!” she pulled the trigger a forth time. How many times would they have to repeat this until he managed to talk some sense into her. He used his Z-drive a forth timethis time he was panting clearly feeling the effects of Jinx’s bombs.“Always a dance with you…”She loked at him as he took leaned on the fence for support‘’I’m just gonna sit here a minute. You know, catch my breath. See if I can talk an old friend out of blowing us up.”“I’m tired of talking.” She said and let herself fall forwards.“NO!” he screamed and used the Z-drive a fifth time. “you know, I learned form someone… very special. That no matter what happened in the past It’s never to late to build something new.”Her eyes wandered over his conserned carrying face, down to the Z-drive and the small monkey figures inside of it.“someone worth building it for.”She looked at him again and then her glance turned to something small moving in the background. It couldn’t be. Its impossible. The small figure darted towards her. her short blue and brown hair tied up in a small ponytail and she wore clean and whole clothes. Her hat fell of as she ran towards her and within seconds she felt a to familiar touch around her waist. It was her… it was really her.“I..Isha?” at first she didn’t move, still to stunned to react or say much, but when she finaly came to relasation she broke down into tears and fell down to her knees, hands covering her face as tears ran down her cheeks. ¨Isha tighten her grip around her and shortly after Ekko Crouched down beside them and put his hand on her shoulder.“I know everything seems hopeless right now Powd---Jinx but you have so much left in this world, so much to live for. This little girl needs you.“I…I have no where t..to go…” she sobbed“come back with us! It might be a little difficult at first but you will learn to like it, just like Isha did. She found friends and a home at the firelights hideout. and if you just give it a chanse… im sure you will to.
she couldn’t help but to hesitate, would they really accept her? He spent days searching for you]Jinx looked up at Ekko and smiled.“alright, I’ll come with you.” When the three returned to the treehouse hideout all eyes turned to them, they could hear everyone whisper and murmur around the clearing.Ekko- “she is no threat to us. She’s here to help”Person 1- “how do we know that?”Person 2- “What if she’s just here to destroy everything?”Ekko- “she wont. And if she would you can blame me.”Everyone seemed to relax a little at his words and returned to what they where doing.Jinx- “thank you…” she muttered, clearly a little hurt by what they had said about her.Ekko- “of cours” he said and they continued the tour.He and Isha showed her where they slept, ate, where the kids used to play and at last they stopped in front of the painting.Jinx was Mesmerised as she looked at the paiting.Ekko told her a little about the painting “we painted this in memory of everyone we’ve lost”Jinx takes a closer look and sees… “Powder?”Ekko-“ yeah… that day we though they got you… so I gave up in you… next time I saw you I didn’t even realize it was you until our fight at the bridge. I though you where gone for good until… something in your eyes told me you where still in there. The same innocent powder you where when we where kids. And I left you,,, and I gave up on you again.She stayed quiet for a while before asking.Jinx- “what made you come back… you could just have let me end things right there and then but you stopped me. Why?”Ekko- he hesitates a little before turning his glaze to isha- hey,, why don’t you go play with the other kids for a while? I would like to talk with Jinx”She nodded and ran of to her peers nearby.Jinx- “why did you come back? She asked againEkko- “because… okay this is going to sound crazy and you might not believe me but what im about to tell you is true. I got transfered into a different universe where I met a different version of you. Everything was different, there was peace! You where different too. You where kind, generous and you where…”Jinx- “not a gun loving psychopath?”Ekko- “your words not mine.”Jinx let out a sharp laugh but didn’t say anything and let him continue.Ekko- “the people where different too, vander, Silco, Benzo… they where all alive.. well everyone but Vi. She died in an explosion… but everything else was perfect.Jinx-“ wow… it sounds wonderfull…” she whispered,,, still not sure if she should believe what he was saying or not. “wait,,, it things where so perfect… why did you come back to, This,” She gestured with her hand-Ekko- “ the other version of you helped me realize that sometimes taking a leap forwards means leaving a few things behind… after seeing how things could have been after seeing you happy, I knew I had to come back to you… to SAVE you.” He sluddered cheaks growing hot with embaressment.Jinx smiled and let out a soft chuckleHearing this, he though his heart would melt. She was really still in there… she was broken and imperfect but to him that was beautiful… she was beautiful.He pulled her into a tight embrace, she was taken aback but it didn’t take long befor she relaxed into the embrace, She buried her face in his should and let out a releaved sigh.Jinx- “I missed this Little manEkko- “yeah… me too.”Jinx- “so tell me a little more about this other version of me, did we look alike?Ekko- “ you where healtier and you didn’t have your long braids. You worked in the bar together with Vander but you didn’t mint helping me with my sciens project for the scienc convent. “ he said and hinted towards the Z-driveJinx- “I… she helped you build that?” she asked and took a closer look at it. The tiny monkeys inside of the z-drive looked simulat to her bombs.Ekko- “yeah! She helped me finish it for the convent, but we didn’t show it.” He closed hiseyes and pictured everything that had happened after that in his head. “we danced and laughed and then we chatted some on the roof while watching the city lights and…” he trailed of scared to say what they did next.Jinx- “and?”Ekko- “we kissed”Jinx- “ you… you kissed Her?” she asked, her glance wandering between his eyes and then down to her feetEkko- “ jelouse of yourselfe? He jokedThere was an charged silence between them after that in what felt like forever until jinx returned her glance to him.He let his eyes wander over her beauty as he leaned in slightlyJinx- “sorry, IEkko- “No… It’s fine, I…” he sighedJinx- “can we just pretend like it’s the first time?He smiled and reached out his right hand to cup her Cheek.They both leaned in and their lips met in a soft yet passionate kiss.(a calm version of Ma Meilleure Ennemie Playing in the background)Jinx and Ekko parted and looked each other in the eyes, eyes that had been filled with rage and hatered, now filled with love. They hugged eachother and Isha had snucked up behind them and leaped forwards in a surprise hug. They included her in their hug and sat there waching the calm clearing beneth themJinx- “I love you ekko….” “she whispered just loud enough for him to hear it.Ekko- “I love you too Jinx, no matter who you choose to be. I’ll love you in every life, in every universe, no matter what happened in the past or will happen in the future.Isha Smiled and pulled away from the hug, she stood up and signed something with her hands.Jinx smiled and nodded and pulled Isha back into the hug.Ekko- “what did she say?” he asked Jinx- “Family” The End (or was is just the beginning?) <3
