Planet: Mobius. Year: 20XX.It was a quiet night, perfect for fishing. Big thought that every night before he dozed off to sleep. Tonight was no different from his regular routine, the large purple cat leaning against the tree as his fishing rod was in the nearby lake, waiting for any fish to catch.And with a full moon, more fishes would be active. A peaceful night for sur- The sound of alarm blares at max volume waking up Big, the cat turning his attention to the alarm, his pet frog also noticing the loud sound.The source of the alarm is a nearby Tower, which powers on its night guard lights to look around the surrounding forests for any intruders. In the distance something is rushing towards the tower. Spherical Robots move forward, their trends leaving no mark on the metal that replaced the earth beneath it.Red shoes move across the asphalt path, dust being blown to the side. The tanks roll out of the base, being the first line of defense as other robots get in place for the incoming attack. Even though it’s quiet, the air is thick with tension…The hero of Mobius rushes onto the scene, noticing the tanks before dashing off to the side to dodge the rapid fire from the robots. The tower defense systems kick into overdrive firing a barrage of missiles at the blue hedgehog, all of them missing by a few feet, only dealing damage to the ground. The robot tanks move backwards before they continue to open fire at their target, only for the hedgehog to jump off the ground, landing on top of one and using it to launch himself into the air, getting over the gate that surrounds the tower.The hedgehog continues to dash forward to the tower, dodging the bullets from the other robots. At the bottom of the tower, 3 giant robots power on, each one belonging to the E-12 Behemoth line. The blue blur reaches a corner planning to jump it before the 3 Behemoths break through the ground, spooking the hedgehog causing him to take a hard left as the robots chase after him.The hedgehog runs into a tunnel system, 2 of the Behemoths right behind him. The 3rd Behemoth rips through the floor in front of the hedgehog causing him to once again take a turn, leading him outside. As he rushes away, the hedgehog falls to notice the spring under him that launches him into the air. “WHAAAAAA-” One of the E-12 Behemoths right hooks the hedgehog's entire body, launching him out of the base.“SONIC!!!” A blue plane flies down towards the base, being piloted by an orange fox with a pink hedgehog as its passenger. The defense systems of the tower shot at the plane, hitting it twice causing smoke to rise from the plane. “Tails! The plane is on fire!” The pink hedgehog looks up to the pilot, Tails. “What are we going to do?!?”“Right now, we’re going to save Sonic!” Tails pulls a lever that fires a missile to where the hedgehog, Sonic, crashed. The missile explodes in the air, releasing a golden ring before it drops down to Sonic. A blue glow envelopes the forest before a blue ball launches through the air heading back to the base. The ball destroys the robot tanks before it crashes through the gate guarding the tower.One of the E-12 Behemoths charges in front of the blue ball before being launched back, crashing into the second Behemoth, the blue blur going through the two large robots with ease. The last Behemoth punches Sonic into the ground, finally stopping his destructive path…or so it thought. Its arm is fully destroyed as the blue ball launches up into the air towards the tower, breaking through one of the lights.“HANG ON AMY!!!” The blue plane crashes onto the ground, heading right towards a large boulder. “WE’RE GOING CRASH” Amy screams. The fox responded simply with, “I KNOW!!!” Right as the plane is about to hit the boulder, someone punches right through it, destroying the boulder allowing for the plane to land somewhat smoothly.Tails looks up, noticing the figure who saved him and Amy. “Knuckles!” The red echidna has his back turned to the two only giving a grunt of annoyance. “The matter with you?” Amy says to the echidna. Knuckles looks at the tower in the distance as it’s being destroyed by Sonic attack. “…It’s overkill, just like all the other times…”In the control center at the top of the tower sits two robots controlling the security system while their creator stands in front of a mysterious device. The tall yellow robot with a conehead looks at its creator, “Doctor Eggman, the facility is in 100% lockdown.” The fat genius adjusts his red coat. “Why does that hedgehog always get in my way? Can’t he just let an evil genius win once!”“Because if he doesn’t stop you, then you get to do all the bad things you want!” Eggman turns his attention to his two hostages, a young rabbit girl and her pet chao. “Sonic won’t let you get away with this!” The young rabbit said to the doctor. “Oh is that what you believe?!? Sonic can’t stop me now because I have this!” Eggman pulls out a red emerald holding it in his hand. “Once I insert the last Chaos Emerald into my energy generator, my machines shall become invincible!”All the sudden the door into the main control room is destroyed, causing Eggman to jump back a bit. “Sonic!” The young rabbit said with hope in her eyes. “Sonic…” The doctor looks at Sonic knowing that most of his defenses have probably been destroyed, but remembers he has the last chaos emerald and grins. “…Too late!”Eggman slams the Chaos Emerald in the device, pushes a few buttons and grabs the switch to activate the device.”You’ll never stop me now Sonic. All I have to do is push this little button…” “Doc, is that really a bet you wanna take against me?” Sonic smirks a bit as Eggman remembers he is talking to the fastest thing alive.Eggman notices a robot appears behind Sonic, restoring his confidence. “Why yes, I’ll take those odds…OPEN FIRE!!!” The robot starts to shoot at Sonic when it’s given the command, the hedgehog immediately running around the room while grinning like the madlad he is.Sonic runs up the walls dodging the bullets. “Don’t let him escape!” Eggman ordered the robot. “Stop him, no matter what!” The timing on that order couldn’t have been worse, with the hedgehog landing right in front of Eggman. “Poor choice of words, Egghead.”The robot reloads itself as it aims at Sonic and unfortunately Eggman who would be likely caught in the crossfire. “DON’T SHOOT, DON’T SHOOT!!!” Sonic jumps out of the way while Eggman ducks his head, the robot bullets hitting the device behind the doctor. “It doesn’t matter now, I WIN SONIC!!!” Eggman pushes the button activating the device, Sonic landing in front of the container where the rabbit girl and her chao pet are.The device glows a bright white as lightning comes off it, Eggman looking at it in horror before turning his head to the robot that shot at it. “WHAT HAVE YOU’VE DONE?!?” Sonic looks at the bright light with confusion in his eyes before it envelops the entire room.The light starts to break through the tower, Tails, Amy and Knuckles looking at it. “W-what is happening?!?” The pink hedgehog asks the echidna. “…It’s Chaos Control.” Knuckles respond as the light expands outward. Big looks at the white light approaching, and the only thoughts in his mind is that he hopes this doesn’t affect the fishing season…—————————————————————-Darkness. That’s what Sonic sees first when he regained consciousness. When he opens his eyes however, he looks up and sees a clear blue sky. “…Oh man, I must have passed out or something…” The blue hedgehog rubs his head before looking down at the grass-There couldn’t be grass though. The entire area around the tower was either asphalt or metal. And he possibly couldn’t be in the forest since he could see the sky so clearly and the sun was shining down making him pretty warm… in fact it felt warmer than it did the day before. Way to warm for spring. “It's practically summertime with this heat…”Sonic stands up and looks around, seeing that instead of being in a forest, he’s on a mountain side. “Okay wow…did Egghead device malfunction and send me flying…What about Cream and Cheese?!?” Sonic looks around for any sign of the rabbit and the chao but sees only grass and-“A city? The closest one to Eggman base was like 100 miles! Yeesh I must have been launched really far…” Sonic thought to himself. “…Ah crap! Cream was there!! If I got flung this far, then just how far did she go!” Sonic starts to worry before he looks at the city down the mountain. “…My best bet is to get into town and fast. There’s a chance she’s down there…” The hedgehog immediately dashes down the mountain heading towards the city, not knowing what destiny holds for him.Sonic runs onto the smooth pavement of a street leading into the city, power lines covering the air above him. Like most cities, it’s only small houses and family owned shops that are at the edge to greet anyone who passes through. But unlike most cities, the buildings are empty, practically abandoned. It doesn’t help put the hedgehog mind at ease with the lack of any traffic on the road he’s running down. The only sound entering his ears are his footsteps and the chirping of cicadas.As Sonic goes deeper into the city, there’s still no sign of life. Some cars are on the road, but look as if they’ve been left behind in a hurry with some of the car's doors being wide open. “Where the hell is everybody?” The hedgehog looks around the street confused as he skids to a stop, getting a closer look at the buildings and the surrounding mountains around the entire city. “…This doesn’t look like any place I’ve been…what is even happening-“ Sonic remembers the bright flash of light from Eggman device, something that not even the Doctor had anticipated. “…The Chaos Emeralds did something, is that the reason why everything feels different?”All of a sudden the hedgehog hears a rumbling in the distance. Sonic jumps back a bit, the sounds of the cicadas having come to a halt. “…What the-“ The rumbling sound is heard again, interrupting Sonic mid sentence. He looks around the city block, nothing in his line of sight, but yet the rumbling keeps getting louder. The hedgehog makes the choice to run up one of the buildings in the city to get a better view, his speed allowing him to run up the wall.He skids to a stop on the rooftop of the building, while it is certainly not the tallest in the city, it lets the hedgehog see more of his surroundings. Yet he can’t seem to find the cause of the rumbling even as it continues to get louder. As Sonic looks around, the clouds cover up the sun creating a large shadow across the rooftop and the hedgehog.“…Wait a second…there aren’t any clouds in the sky…” Sonic says to himself before he turns to look behind him. And all he sees is a large, jet black torso with what appears to be ribcage bones on the side, and a large red orb in the center of it. The hedgehog looks upwards at the large creature to see its face, which is much smaller compared to the rest of its body, along with being made out of bone, a large beak pointing down from its bone face with two large dots acting as its eyes. The creature arms are much longer than anything that the hedgehog has seen, with the arms reaching down to the creature's legs which appear to have gills on its thighs, allowing for it to breathe underwater.The large creature looks down at Sonic, towering over the building the blue blur is standing on. “…This wasn’t in the break into Eggman base script…” The creature's eyes blink in curiosity at the blue hedgehog. “Uh hey there big guy! You think you can help me with my current situation-“ The creature raises up its right arm into the air. “-Guess not.” The creature slams its fist into the building that Sonic is standing on, causing it to collapse. The rubble from the building hits the ground creating a cloud of dust. But when the smoke clears, no hedgehog body is in sight.“Well, take a gander that you probably don’t like me.” The creature turns its entire body to the side to see Sonic standing on top of another building, tapping his foot against the floor. “Or you just aren’t a fan of the architecture of the city.” The hedgehog smirks at his own joke while the creature charges up a punch at the building. Sonic jumps off the building, falling to the ground. The hedgehog curls up into a ball, stopping himself from taking any unnecessary force from hitting the pavement before he bounces back up. He uncurls and dashes away as the creature punches at the building and notices Sonic running away.“Well if you want a fight over the way these buildings look, then come and get me!” The hedgehog grins before speeding up, the creature following after, each step shaking the ground. Sonic looks behind him to see that not only is the creature chasing after him but is also beginning to speed up. “Oh so you can run as well? This is getting interesting!” He chuckles a bit as he takes a left, going deeper into the city, no sign of life around, the hedgehog now having a theory for why, that is currently chasing after him.The creature tears through multiple buildings as it runs after the hedgehog, grabbing some of the rubble and throwing it at Sonic. Sonic grins as he leaps to the side dodging the fall debris, the blue blur rolling on the ground gaining more speed. “Heh, you are pretty good at throwing stuff but when it comes to speed you ain’t got nothing on me!” Sonic mockingly says to the creature as it tries to use its arms to grab at the hedgehog. “Oh no, how will I ever escape???” The blue blur said in a mocking tone before drifting to the side, escaping the creature's grasp.He makes a hard turn to the right, expecting the creature to follow after him. But yet when he looks back, the creature has stopped moving. The hedgehog debates whether or not to stop or not, ultimately making the choice to keep moving. “Man just when it was getting interesting-“ Sonic is interrupted by an aircraft flying from the opposite direction at the creature, causing his curiosity to get the best of him before he halts to a stop.More aircrafts fly down at the creature, before they all unleash a barrage of missiles at the creature. The creature only stays still as all the missiles hit it, being completely unaffected by the attack. The aircrafts proceed to fly back as the creature unleashes a wave of energy, the aircrafts barely dodging the massive wave. Sonic watches in confusion as the creature continues to fight against the aircrafts. “Okay so maybe that thing has a better set of skills than me…” Sonic rubs one finger against his nose before chuckling to himself. “But that’s never stopped me before.”Sonic prepares to charge forward at the creature, hopefully being able to help the people in the aircrafts and also keeping the damage to a minimum. He rushes forward-an aircraft is thrown in his direction causing him to jump back in order to dodge it. Just as Sonic lands on the ground, the remaining fire power in the aircraft causes it to explode sending the hedgehog flying down the left side of the street, rolling across the pavement scraping himself a bit before he flips back up to recover. “Ow ow…this is going to be a lot harder than I thought…”Sonic wipes off the dust before his ear twitches. Screaming, off in the distance. “…sounds like somebody didn’t get away before this creature attacked…I don’t care if this ain’t my world, I gotta move to help them!” Sonic looks at the giant creature, seeing it still fighting the aircrafts before he turns around and dashes off to find the source of the screaming.Sonic runs down the street, flipping into an alleyway to dodge another aircraft being thrown down by the creature. He rushes out the other side of the alleyway, looking around for the person that was screaming. “HEY I’M HERE TO HELP, WHERE ARE YOU?!?” The hedgehog looks around the street. “HELP, I’M DOWN AT THE END OF THE ROAD, PLEASE HURRY!!!” Sonic looks down the street seeing a small figure who seems to be moving erratically with the creature just a few blocks away destroying more aircrafts.Sonic launches down the street heading towards the figure. A sound is suddenly heard as the creature fires a beam of energy at one of the aircrafts, the beam also hitting a few buildings sending rubble flying. Sonic speeds up as he notices the debris falling down, not sure if it will even hit the figure. The hedgehog extends his hand out as he reaches the figure, grabbing the person's arm and dashing off, barely dodging the rubble that crashes into the ground.Sonic halts to a stop a bit further away from the creature, letting go of the person's arm. “Phew…you alright?” Sonic asks the person, who is panting heavily. “Y-yeah…well as fine as you’ll be…when a giant creature appears…out of nowhere…” Sonic gets a better look at the person and sees they’re just a young boy with brown hair, who is wearing a white dress shirt and black pants. But the most interesting thing about the boy is that he’s not the same species as Sonic.“…thank you mister-“ The human boy looks at Sonic and stops talking. “Eh no problem kiddo” Sonic stretches a bit while the boy's face turns into pure shock. “Now then, I gotta get back to stopping that-“ The boy lets out a scream of fear while Sonic is talking. “A T-TALKING HED-HEDGEHOG!?!” The boy says in pure shock while pointing at Sonic. “…Yes I am”

Planet: ??? Year: ???Shinji Ikari was having a rough day. Well, he always had a rough day. But today was much worse than most days for him. The 14 year old boy had spent half of his day just trying to get to this specific street in Tokyo 3 after receiving a note. The letter was from his father, who hasn’t been around for the past few years of his life. And calling it a letter was a very nice term for it, when all it said was “Come.” with the signature of his father.Along with the letter came another message telling him where to go and showing who would be picking him up. Although it was certainly a very odd choice of a picture, showing a woman with long purple hair posing for the camera at what Shinji presumed was a beach. The teenager decided to make the journey to the city in hopes that his father would want to reconnect with him, or just at least have a small chat with Shinji apologizing for his actions.Unfortunately for Shinji, he was not the only thing who decided to come to Tokyo 3. He had arrived just in time to witness a large unknown creature begin its attack. The boy watches in horror as the creature begins its rampage, military forces already following after it. Shinji tries to find some shelter as the creature battles against the aircrafts surrounding it.All the poor boy can do is scream out in fear as he watches in horror as the creature effortlessly destroys the aircrafts. “Oh god, this is it, this is it” The teenager thought to himself as the creature got even closer to his location, the aircrafts hopelessly fighting it. And then- “HEY I’M HERE TO HELP, WHERE ARE YOU?!?” Someone was down at the end of the street, probably hearing Shinji screams. He didn’t care that the voice was speaking in English, he learned enough of the language in school so he could easily speak and understand it. “HELP, I’M DOWN AT THE END OF THE ROAD, PLEASE HURRY!!!”The creature grabs one of the aircraft and throws it to the side, the sheer strength from the creature breaking the aircraft as it falls down towards Shinji. Instead of running away, the boy freezes in fear accepting his fate-a gust of wind blows against his entire body. The boy opens his eyes in confusion, seeing that he did not get crushed to death but instead is on a completely different street.The person who saved Shinji lets go of his arm. “Phew…you alright?” Shinji has his hands on his knees as he tries to catch his breath. “Y-yeah…well as fine as you’ll be…when a giant creature appears…out of nowhere…” The boy responds the best he can. “…thanks for…the help…mister-” Shinji looks up to the person mid sentence only to see a 100 Centimeter (or 3 feet tall) blue hedgehog, its stomach, arms and mouth being peach while also wearing white gloves and red shoes with golden buckles.Shinji's face turns into pure shock as the hedgehog stretches a bit. “Eh no problem kiddo. Now I gotta get back to stopping that th-” Shinji lets out another scream of pure fear at the mutant creature in front of him. “A T-TALKING HED-HEDGEHOG!?!” Shinji says in confusion as he points at the blue creature in front of him.“…Yes I am.” The hedgehog crosses his arms in response to Shinji screaming at him. Surely the boy has to be dreaming, that’s the only way to explain what has been happening today. All of this is one bad dream and he’s going to wake up in the hotel he stayed at the other night on his journey to Tokyo 3.The blue hedgehog looks at the giant creature in the distance as it launches up into the air, practically flying away. The sudden movement from the creature sends out a powerful wave of wind that pushes Shinji back a bit, while the hedgehog stays in place, seeming to smile at the danger.“Any moment I’ll wake up and this nightmare will be over…” Shinji thought to himself.The blue mutant looks back at the boy. “I’d like to ask what is happening but I got a feeling that since you screamed at me, you don’t have a clue what’s going either…” Shinji blinks at the hedgehog still in shock that it can even talk. “Oh yeah where my manners, haven’t even introduced myself!”The hedgehog sticks out his right hand to the teenager. “Name is Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.” Shinji stares at the gloved hand from the blue mut-Sonic, that’s what it is calling itself.“I…uh…” Shinji slowly moves his hand out to shake the hedgehog as well, hoping that it wouldn’t be his last mistake. But Shinji's hand is gently shaken by the hedgehog, easing the boy a little bit as the cre-Sonic, hasn’t shown any signs of attacking him. If anything the blue hedgehog has been trying to help him out in the short few minutes the two have met each other.“I’m Ikari, Shinji Ikari.” The hedgehog stops shaking the teenager's hand before giving a thumbs up to him. Nice to meet you Shinji.” Sonic looks around to see that the creature is currently heading further away from the two. “That thing is still standing even after all those fancy weapons hit it…” Sonic rotates his arm, the smirk still covering his face. “This should last a bit longer than most of Egg Head robots…”Shinji looks at Sonic in confusion from what he said, before he shakes it off. The poor boy has given up hope that this is a weird fever dream, accepting the fact that there is a talking blue hedgehog and a giant creature. The boy then suddenly remembers the note that brought him here before he pulls out the picture of the lady that was supposed to pick him up.“Dang it, she was supposed to be here by now…” “Who was?” The hedgehog is suddenly next to Shinji as the boy looks at the picture causing him to jump back a bit, the picture falling out of his hand with Sonic grabbing it. “…This is a very weird picture to send to a…how old are you?” Sonic looks at Shinji waiting for an answer. “…14.” The boy responds. “Well this is a very weird picture to send to a 14 year old…Is this Japanese?” Sonic points to the message written onto the photograph, Shinji moving back over to get a better view of the photograph. “Yes.”Sonic hands the photo back to the boy. “Well at least I know what language that everyone speaks…kinda…but hey your English is pretty good!” Shinji smiles a bit at the compliment from the hedgehog. “Thank you…” Sonic suddenly is at Shinji left, looking down the street. “You said something about her not being here…is she supposed to pick you up?” Shinji nods at Sonic. “…Well then I’ll wait for her to come get you and then I’ll get out of your hair.” Sonic taps his shoe on the sidewalk as he waits.“Oh…you don’t need to leave.” Shinji says to Sonic, the hedgehog looking back at the boy. “You sure?” Shinji nods at Sonic, “It’s alright, you probably don’t want to be mistaken for something similar to that thing.” Sonic chuckles to himself a bit. “Alright then, I’ll stick around with you Shinji.”The boy smiles once again, feeling a sense of happiness that he hadn’t felt in a long time…The moment is interrupted by the sounds of a car zooming down the street right towards the two before it skids to a stop in front of them.The passenger door opens, with Shinji looking into the car seeing the woman from the photo. “Sorry about being late, those soldiers were raining hell at the Ang…“ The nearly 30 year old woman, with long curly purple hair and a black dress, blinks as she looks at Shinji and the blue hedgehog next to him.“…Hey” Sonic waves as the lady “A-ANGEL!!! SHINJI, GET AWAY FROM IT!!!” The woman immediately opens the storage compartment of the car and pulls out a USP Gun before pointing it at the hedgehog who puts his hands up. “Hey woah woah woah I ain’t done nothing wrong!” The lady has her finger wrapped around the trigger ready to shoot- “MISS PLEASE WAIT!!!” Shinji screamed at the lady. “He’s not a threat!”“You need to get out of the way now!” The lady says as she keeps the USP aimed at the hedgehog. “Hey uh, what did I do?” The lady pupils shrink as she hears the hedgehog talk. “It…it can speak?” She lifts her finger off the trigger. Whatever this thing was, it was clearly different from the large creature.“Yes, I can speak. Now can you put the gun down?” Sonic says while still having his hands up, yet no fear in his voice or his eyes.The lady hesitates before slowly lowering the gun with the hedgehog also putting his hands down. “…Just because you aren’t hostile doesn’t mean you are off the hook.” Sonic crosses his arms while he stares at the woman, a bit ticked off from having a gun being pointed at him. “Yeah yeah, you don’t trust me.” Shinji steps forward, in front of the hedgehog looking at the lady.“It’s okay Miss, he’s trustworthy. He saved my life before you got here.” The lady looks at the young boy, her eyes full of worry before she puts the gun away.“That doesn’t change the fact he’s still non-human…He will be coming with us.” The hedgehog looks at the woman. “Eh fine by me.” He immediately appears in the backseat of the car, leaning his legs up against the passenger headrest.“H-how did you?!?” The lady shakes her head and looks at Shinji. “Just get in, I’ll explain what is happening…”—————————————————————A fist slams down on a desk, an ashtray full of cigarettes jumping up a bit from the impact. “It’s not possible, it was a direct hit!” Three generals sit at the desk, looking up to a large monitor showing the giant creature.“The damn battalion has been wiped out, guided missiles and artillery fire have no effect against the target.” The three generals stare at the screen, almost every single attempt at stopping the creature having failed… In the back of the control center, looking down at the 3 generals sits the Commander along with the Sub-Commander standing behind.“Looks like it’s using an A.T. Field.” The Sub-Commander says as the 3 generals try to think of another way to damage the creature. “Yes, conventional weapons have no effect against the Angels…” The Commander replies, waiting for something to happen…“Sirs, our forces would like to execute the backup plan! Do we have permission?” The three generals looked down at the person who alerted them before all nodding to each other. The general sitting in the center of the desk leans forward. “Permission granted, alert all forces to move out of the blast radius…”—————————————————————The Blue Renault Alpine A310 drives through the empty city. The hedgehog crosses his arms as he leans in both back seats of the car looking out the window.“…so when are we going to get an explanation for what’s happening or…?” Sonic says as he looks at the two humans sitting in the front of the car.“I’m not sharing classified information with an alien.” The woman says while keeping her eyes on the road.Sonic scoffs a bit in annoyance before he looks out the window, noticing something in the distance. “Oh hey it’s those aircrafts from before…” The car halts to a stop as the woman looks to the side.“What is it, miss?” Shinji said to the lady as she grabbed a pair of binoculars to get a better view of where the aircrafts came from. “They aren’t doing what I think they are…” She said to herself while the hedgehog in the back of the car positions himself up to get a better view.“What you-“ The hedgehog ear twitches mid sentence, his senses kicking into overdrive. “It’s a N2 mine, get down!” The lady screams before she grabs Shinji by the head and shoves him down, right as an explosion happens in the distance.An unknown sound comes from the back of the car, the shockwave from the explosion heading right to the car. Right before the shockwave hits the car, it starts to shake before being moved forward.The lady and Shinji look up, seeing that the car has been moved forward, the shockwave missing them. The two look behind the seats seeing Sonic heavily panting while standing on the road behind the car.“ha…ha…that was a close call.” The hedgehog wipes some dust off his gloves and dashes to the front of the car. “Are we all good?” Sonic asks the two in the front, both in shock of what just happened“T-thank you again.” Shinji says to the hedgehog why the lady sits there in shock. The lady turns back to look at the hedgehog. “Thank you.”Sonic looks up, rubbing his nose a bit. “No problem, miss…?” He said, trying to get the name of the lady.“…Misato Katsuragi. Captain Katsuragi to you.” She says to the blue hedgehog, before turning back to the wheel. “Well I’m Sonic the Hedgehog. Don’t worry, I won’t make you refer to me as the Hedgehog. Just call me Sonic, Captain.”Misato doesn’t respond to the hedgehog, instead looking at Shinji. “You can call me Misato though, Shinji.” The boy looks up to the Captain. “Are you sure Miss Katsuragi, I don’t want to be disrespectful…”“It’s alright. I don’t care that much, Shinji.” Misato reassures the boy. Sonic leans back in the chair, putting his arms behind his quills.—————————————————————The three generals stare at the screen, a mix of shock and defeat on their faces. While the N2 Mine successfully managed to harm the Angel, the only damage done to it was its face only revealing that it had already grown a new one in place.“That was our last resort…” One of the commanders says as he slumps down into his chair in utter fear.“That was your last resort. You still have one final option left.” The generals looked up to the Commander after he said that. “The choice is yours.”The generals look at each other, realizing that they have a last resort plan. The Commander watches as the three of them start to discuss their choices. The angel on the screen begins to move again, showing that time is running out.—————————————————————The Alpine speeds down the road, Misato trying to get the young boy along with the hedgehog “prisoner” somewhere, while also on the phone. “-Yes don’t worry, his safety is my top priority. Look, can you get a car train ready for us, express of course.” The hedgehog yawns in the back.“…I wonder if I’m the only one who got here…” Sonic thinks to himself, as he remembers the incident in Eggman base resulting in him being sent to this new world. “…Knuckles said something about Chaos Control to me a while back…this must be it.”Sonic looks up to the front, seeing Misato and Shinji talking about something but he keeps zoning out their conversation to collect his thoughts. “I traveled across space from the looks of it…did I travel through time as well?”“From the way that Captain reacted to me before, if everyone else did tag along there’s a chance that they’re dealing with similar situations as my own…” Sonic shakes his head at his own thoughts. “I can worry about that in a bit, right now I gotta deal with all of this.”Sonic leans forward, sticking his head through the car center console. “Sorry to butt in, but where we heading? And before you respond with that’s classified, you are literally taking me there as we speak…” Misato looks at the hedgehog who gives a cheeky smirk at her, knowing that he has a point.“…I’m taking you both to a military base. Shinji will be coming with me while you’ll be taken to the labs to be examined…but I’ll make sure that they won’t dissect you…” Sonic blinks at Misato after she said that, Shinji looking at the Captain as well. “…No.” The boy says to the driver.“I don’t know why I’m here other than the fact my father told me to come, but I don’t want to be responsible for him being sent to a lab for the rest of his life…” Misato looks at Shinji, a deafening silence filling the car. “…Shinji I…I know that he helped us but with his power, it can help a lot of people-““Oh you just wanna use my power to help people? I can do that already without the whole being a lab rat thing.” The hedgehog said, interrupting Misato. “I mean I already help people from where I’m from so it should be a piece of cake.”Misato looks at Sonic before looking at Shinji, seeing how important it was for him that this hedgehog, who he just met, remained safe. “…I…I see Shinji. You know for a kid your age, you still seem to have a big heart.”Misato gives a small sigh before she looks at the road, seeing that they are pulling up to a tunnel. “…I already told them that I’m bringing in a…alien, so it’s going to be difficult to keep him with us.” Sonic leans in the backseat, smirking as he closes his eyes.“Don’t worry, you’re dealing with the fastest thing alive. Capturing me is going to take everything they got.” Sonic opens his eyes looking at Misato. “Also I’m a hedgehog, Captain.”The lady says nothing in response as she continues to drive down the tunnel, Sonic seeing Shinji sitting there looking at the note that brought the boy to this city. “Hey, what’s that?”Shinji looks back at Sonic, spooked a bit due to him being focused on the note. “O-oh it’s just…a message from my father.” The teenager says with a bit of resentment in his voice.“Oh right, I meant to ask you a while back. Did your father give you your ID card?” Misato said as the car came to a halt in front of a metal door with a red insignia on it, Sonic looking at it,“Huh, Nerv?” Misato looks over to Sonic after he says that. “It’s the organization I work for, the one Shinji's father controls.” Sonic crosses his arms looking at the logo, being reminded of Doctor Eggman many bases that the hedgehog has destroyed.The metal wall suddenly opens up, the car driving forward a bit. The metal door closes behind the car as the floor shakes a bit. “…So this is where my father has been…”Misato looks over to the boy after Shinji said that, seeing a bit of pain behind his eyes. “…Have issues with your father as well?” Shinji looks over to Misato after she says that, being brought out of his thoughts. “Y-yeah…it’s complicated.”The teen is flashed back to eleven years ago, the sounds of crying echoing in his mind. It’s a GeoFront!” Shinji says as the car continues to be lowered down, Sonic looks out to see a domed shaped cavern, metal surrounding the entire area with a pyramid in the center with some futuristic buildings surrounding it.Sonic's face scrunches a bit as he looks around the GeoFront from the car, the similarities to Eggman bases becoming more apparent… “I don’t like the feel of this.”—————————————————————“Command of this operation has been entrusted to you, do not make us regret this decision.” The general says, looking at the Commander of NERV.“I understand.” The Commander nods his head before the desk the 3 generals are sitting at begins to move downward, being moved to a more secure area. “…Commander, we still have an issue. We don’t have any pilots yet-““Calm down, Fuyutsuki. We have a spare one coming our way…” The Commander smirks as he says that knowing that his son was almost here…—————————————————————Sonic taps his foot impatiently as he stands behind Misato and Shinji, the three going up a slow escalator. The teen is currently reading the NERV manual while Misato looks around a bit confused.“I swear, we already went through here…” She says trying to keep track of their location. After having to explain to security why they shouldn’t drag the blue hedgehog into a lab and run some very painful experiments on him.While it at least solved one of his many issues, the hedgehog was forced to put on handcuffs because of “security risks” or something boring like that. And now it seems like the captain of this government organization has no clue where they are going. He was starting to miss bugging that giant creature.“Yo, are we there?” Sonic says in a sarcastic tone, already knowing that they are lost. Misato mumbles to herself in Japanese before looking back at Sonic. “If you are impatient, why don’t you just run off?”“Nah, again I’m sticking with you guys. You know, cause of the giant creature destroying everything?” Misato sighs before looking forward, focusing on getting the three where they need to be.The escalator reaches the top, the trio stepping off of it, Shinji hardly pays any attention as he keeps reading through the book. Sonic walks next to him whilst a bit annoyed due to the cuffs he’s wearing. “So itchy…”The three continue walking throughout the base, Misato leading the way to where the Commander said to bring Shinji. Even though she had been Captain for a while, she had never been granted permission into this section of NERV Base until a few weeks ago.While Misato tries to figure out where they are even located, the hedgehog leans over to Shinji. “Hey uh sorry to interrupt your reading, but just wanted to know why you stuck your head out for me? With the whole gun being pointed at me thing.”The boy looks down to the hedgehog, closing the book a bit to ensure that he can return to the part he was reading. “Oh you saved me, I just thought I should return the favor…” Sonic smiles after Shinji says that. “Well I’m not a big guy who thinks that you have to repay a person for something nice you do, but thanks for the help with that!”Shinji gives a nod before turning his attention back to the book, half of the stuff he had already forgotten due to needing to read the long manual in such a short amount of time. Sonic catches a quick glimpse of the book to see if he can read any of it…unfortunately, the hedgehog's very small knowledge of the Japanese alphabet made it so that the pages were gibberish to him.“Remember to learn how to speak Japanese…” Sonic thought to himself as he added it to the growing list of things he had to do in this new world.Suddenly Misato stops in front of a wall, the two behind her stopping as well. “Well I’m ready to admit it, we are lo-“ Before the Captain can state her confession, the wall slides down to the ground a blonde woman with short hair wearing a lab coat and-“…is that a swimsuit?” Sonic says looking at the blonde woman. The scientist looks down to the blue hedgehog, shockingly to Sonic, keeping her composure. “So this is the creature you were talking about, Captain.”Misato gives a cheeky smile at the blonde woman. “Yes it is Ritsuko, and don’t worry I made sure to get the Third Child here as well.” Misato points at Shinji who looks up from his book towards Ritsuko.“Hello Miss.” The boy says before looking back at the book.Ritsuko nods before turning her attention back to the hedgehog. “I thought you were going to let security take it to the labs, not bring it along…”Misato rubs one hand behind her head, “Well uh, the Third Child requested that he come along with us. And I figured that maybe the Commander would want to see him…” Sonic scoffs a bit after the Captain finishes talking.“You say that like I would gladly accept captivity.” Ritsuko looks at the hedgehog after he said his snarky comment. “So it knows English, what about other languages?”Shinji pops his head out of the manual once more, “He doesn’t speak Japanese, he would have by now,” and puts his face back into the book.“I see…we don’t have time to learn everything about it, the angel is rapidly approaching NERV.” Ritsuko steps back a bit allowing for the trio to walk forward.“You guys know I have a name, right?” The hedgehog says as he walks in after Shinji and Misato, none of the three humans paying mind to him. “Oh okay so we’re ignoring me.”As the gang go deeper into the base, they eventually get onto a platform that goes upwards. Misato and Ritsuko talking about something in Japanese, the hedgehog thinking that they are either talking about something personal or something very important that they don’t want him to hear. Or both, that happens sometimes.Sonic looks around, a pink hue covering the large area with him seeing something on his right side. A hand. A pretty big hand at that… “Maybe it’s just some weird decor.” Sonic says to himself.As the platform reaches the top, Ritsuko and Misato step off it walking to the side where a motorboat is docked, floating above a pink liquid, the source of the hue…wait a second.Shinji gets onto the boat, Sonic standing still on the dock looking at the ocean of pink around him, his facial expression being…fear? “Hey aren’t you coming with us?” Shinji asks the hedgehog who doesn’t look up to respond to the boy.“…water…why did it have to be water?” Sonic takes a breath before he steps onto the boat, grabbing the edges of it immediately to hold onto for his dear life. The action gets a little chuckle from Shinji while Ritsuko starts up the boat.Sonic looks up to the teen while the boat rocks up and down moving across the pink ocean. “What, you never think about how terrifying water is?” Sonic grip gets tighter as the boat moves.“Well I’m not the best person at swimming but I’m not deathly afraid of water.” Shinji says before going back to reading the book. The motor boat moves across the pink water towards a stairway.As the four get off the board, the hedgehog is very thankful he is back on solid land. They all walk up the stairs, Shinji looking to the side seeing a…a large shoulder? No, that can’t be right.The four walk into the room, the door closing behind them cutting off the only source of light. “H-HEY! WHY IS IT SO DARK IN HERE?!?” Shinji says, Sonic ears flinching in pain.“We can all hear you.” The hedgehog says in response to him shouting.The lights flicker on and, “AAAAAAAAAH!” Shinji screams once more to Sonic annoyance. “It’s…it’s a face!”In front of the four is a large purple head, with a spiky top. Down its neck is a chest plate that is orange in contrast to the purple outer armor. Two very small yellow eyes are on its head looking directly at Shinji.Sonic looks at the machine, angrily looking at it. “…You have a robot. A robot almost exactly lik-“ Sonic cuts himself off seeing Shinji flip through the manual.“You won’t find it in the manual.” Ritsuko says, looking at the giant robot. “This is man's ultimate fighting machine, the synthetic life form known as an Evangelion, Unit 01.”Sonic slowly starts to clench his fists, everything about this screaming for him to get out. And normally he would just go off, but there are three very important things stopping him.One, the angel is currently on its way here and after seeing what it was capable of, the hedgehog does not want to leave these people to die to it.Secondly, where would he even go? It’s a whole new world for him and nobody else is with him. And circling back to the angel attacking, it would be too risky to go searching now.But the most important thing is that a KID was brought to this military base. Sonic normally didn’t have an issue of having Tails or Cream tag along with him, but that was due to them proving that they could hold their own against threats like the Doctor.Shinji however. In very nice terms, the hedgehog and the boy's first encounter was due to Shinji screaming like a little girl.He couldn’t leave the boy here all by himself. And if Sonic really did want to leave with Shinji in tow, the teen would somehow become a stain on the wall with how fast the hedgehog can go.He can’t run off, not yet at least. The hedgehog hated the fact, but he knew it was the best move to stay still.“Is this my father’s work…?” Shinji asks the scientist while Sonic is thinking. “Correct.”Sonic and Shinji turn around looking up to where the voice came from, a small glass box on the ceiling looking down at the chamber where the giant mecha is being held.The Commander, whose hair is a mix of brown and gray, wrinkles in his face, a pair of small orange glasses in front of his eyes along with a beard, looks down at the young boy.“It’s been a while.” Shinji stares at Commander a bit of shock in his face with his pupils very small. “…Father…” The young boy looks down at the floor in shame.Commander Ikari looks over to the boy's side, seeing the blue hedgehog. He scoffs at the sight of it, before turning his attention back to the Evangelion. “We’re moving out.”“B-but Unit 00 is still in cryostasis…You don’t mean Unit 01…” Misato says in panic. “It is the only chance,” Ritsuko responds.“Ayanami is still in critical condition, we have no one else to pilot the EVA!” The Scientist looks at the Captain with a blank expression.“We just did.”That’s when it all clicks for both Mistao and Sonic. All of this wasn’t for a father and son reunion. It was a recruitment mission.“Hey uh excuse me!” Sonic says getting the attention of everyone. “I just got here and I’m not that bright but are you suggesting putting a kid into a robot and making him fight?!?”“Correct.” A very quick response from the Commander, even when talking with an alien creature.Misato rebuttals with, “But it took Ayanami nearly 7 months to be able to sync with her Eva!”“We do not have any other choice,” Ritsuko states. “Our best chance is for him to pilot.” Misato steps forward to hold her ground in this argument. “Even if he agrees, what will he be able to do?!?”“We will inform him what to do. It is either he listens or we die.” Misato clenches her fist, all she can do is shake them. Ritsuko is right, this is the last option they have…Shinji has been quiet the entire time. He’s been trying to wrap his mind around this entire situation. “…Is that it…? Is that why you brought me here, father?”“Correct. I have found a use for you and you will fulfill it.” The empty tone in Commander Ikari's voice only makes Shinji feel worse. “Is this all I am to you?!? A tool?!?”“Correct.” The young boy steps back from how his father is so clear with his intentions. “How could you do this to me?!? Why me?!?” Shinji keeps looking at the floor, avoiding eye contact with his father. “Because there is no one else who can.”Sonic finally steps forward after hearing all the conversations that are happening around him. “I’ll do it.”Nobody responds. “…What? If nobody else is going to go fight the thing, I can do it.” Ritsuko looks at the hedgehog. “You cannot pilot the robot, it was designed for human use. Not aliens.”“Rude. But I wasn’t gonna use the giant robot. I can do it myself.”They all stare in shock at Sonic, besides the Commander. “No. The creature will stay here. It does not understand the powers the angels hold. And if Shinji will not fight it, then he will leave!”All of a sudden the entire roof begins to shake. Above the surface, the creature has reached the top of the mountains surrounding the city that NERV HQ is under. Pillars of energy are created from the creature's presence, taking on a cross shape.“…It can sense us down here,” Commander Ikari says in response to the creature’s attacks. Ritsuko turns towards the young boy, “…Shinji, we don’t have any time left! Make a choice.”Shinji looks towards Misato, hoping that the older woman can help him in this situation. “…Get inside,” Misato says with a serious tone, the young boy looking back down at the ground.“Let me do it!” Sonic says once more. “I encountered that thing before and I was able to outrun it. Hell it isn’t even the craziest thing I’ve ever faced!”Misato avoids eye contact with Sonic, knowing that she has no say in this matter. Instead she focuses on Shinji. “it has to be Shinji…”“I…I can’t…” The young boy is terrified, everyone is telling him to do something he has never done before. They shouldn’t be treating him like this but yet they are. “Shinji, what was the point of you coming here?!? You came here in hopes of fixing a problem and now you are trying to run away from another one? You mustn’t run away.”“He can make whatever choice he wants, Captain!” Sonic says to defend the young boy. “I don’t care that I’m alien to you, that I’ve been here for a few hours. In the end, he’s still a kid! I’m your best choice you got here and all of you are ignoring me!”The argument stops, Misato realizing that she can convince either of them to listen… Commander Ikari scoffs before pushing a button. “Fuyutsuki, report in.”One of the screens on the Commander's side changes from looking down at Shinji to where the Fuyutsuki is. “Yes sir?”“Wake up Rei.” Fuyutsuki looks at the screen confused. “But she is still in critical condition-“ “She is still alive, that is what matters.”“…Yes sir.” The deputy commander changes communications in compliance. “…Rei.” The commander waits for a response.A young girl's voice can be heard from the communication system, “Yes…?” The commander looks down at Shinji who is still avoiding eye contact, the hedgehog trying to comfort him. “Our spare is unuseable, you will pilot.” “Yes sir.”Ritsuko sighs, realizing Shinji has made up his mind. “…Reconfigure Unit 01 system for Ayanami, then activate!” The intercom activates in response to Ritsuko, something being said in Japanese.Shinji stands there quietly, Sonic still trying his best to calm him down. “Hey you made your choice and they’re going to respect that.” The young boy stays quiet, millions of thoughts rushing through his head, all of them coming to the same conclusion.He isn’t needed.Metal doors on the opposite side of the catwalk open up. A medical crew moves into the chamber rolling a stretcher past Shinji and Sonic. The hedgehog looks at the person in the stretcher, his pupils shrinking with rage.A young girl, no older than Shinji from the looks of it, was lying on the stretcher covered in bandages. She had short blue hair along with red eyes. She is wearing what appears to be a white skin tight suit that has no sleeves, most likely because of the IV drip that was also brought along with her.This was the final option that NERV had…and the poor girl seemed in no condition to fight. It made Sonic sick to his core and Shinji much more guilty about his choice.The girl tries to get off the stretcher, letting out a groan of pain. The sound of pants filled the chamber, the girl only being able to sit up on the stretcher.“This…this is twisted…” Sonic comments on the entire situation.The chamber begins to shake again as the angel unleashes another beam of energy above NERV HQ, this time penetrating the Geo Front roof. Large chunks of the roof begin to fall down to the base, causing the chamber to shake once more.The girl who is most likely Rei, who everyone was talking about, is knocked off the stretcher with her hitting the ground. Sonic rushes over to her in the blink of an eye in order to help, leaving Shinji alone.However this would be a fatal mistake on the hedgehog end. Part of the roof of the chamber breaks apart, steel beams falling down towards Shinji. “SHINJI, MOVE!” Screams Misato as she witnesses the beams descending down towards the boy.The hedgehog eyes darted over to Shinji, he immediately took a step forward to head back to the boy. He made sure to be careful to not harm the poor girl behind him with the wind caused by his speed. But that carefulness would only slow him down…He wasn’t going to make it in time.The hand of Unit 01 raises up, the pink liquid falling to the side. The massive hand moves on top of Shinji, covering his body from the steel beams as they fall. One of the beams is bounced upwards to where Commander Ikari is, however dealing no damage to the glass protecting him.And all he does is smile.Sonic skids to a stop next to Shinji, the two looking up at the robot hand in confusion. “Did that…?” The hedgehog says to himself.Shinji stares into the yellow eyes of Unit 01, trying to understand what had happened. Why was it protecting him?Sonic hears Ritsuko scream something in Japanese, whatever the hell has happened probably was new for her as well.Shinji eyes dart over to Rei who is laying on the ground before he runs over to her, the hedgehog heading back as well. The young boy tries to help the injured girl up, but the moment he makes contact with her she makes a sound of pain.Sonic looks down at her before looking over at where Misato is. “…Are you still going to send her out to fight?!?” Mistao doesn’t respond.Shinji looks at his hand, seeing that it’s covered in something red. The blood of Rei…He thinks about everything that has been said to him, why he even came he again. “…I can’t run away…I can't run away…I can’t run away,” Shinji thinks to himself, remembering Misato's words.The young boy looks up to where his father is. “I…I’ll do it! I’ll pilot for you!” Sonic looks back at Shinji, “…are you sure…?”“It’s either me or…” Shinji looks at Rei who is still in pain as he clenches his fists, trying to bury his fear down.The Commander stares directly at Shinji while smiling. “Good.”—————————————————————Sonic watches as Shinji is escorted somewhere else, the hedgehog standing next to Misato. “…He shouldn’t be doing this.”“He made the choice to…” The captain responds in a quiet tone. Mistao walks away, Sonic following after.The sounds of heavy machinery moving can be heard as the two head up the base eventually reaching a room where NERV staff are sitting around large computer screens. “…Going take a guess this is the control room?” Sonic asks Misato, who nods in response.The staff turn around to see the blue hedgehog, all of them jumping back a bit. Sonic gives a small wave to them even with his handcuffs on. “Don’t mind him, just focus on getting Shinji into the entry plug.” Misato says to the staff, all of them immediately turning their attention back to their computers.The staff all communicate with each other in Japanese, Sonic feeling a little lost. However he thinks that he would be lost no matter what language they spoke in. “…Yo, do we have any way to talk to Shinji?”“Yes, we can activate communication systems when he’s in the EVA which should be about…” A green light glows on the screen confirming that the young boy has safely entered the machine. “Now.” Misato finishes saying to the hedgehog.Immediately Shinji starts to scream in confusion. “…Oh you have gotta be-“ Ritsuko interrupts Sonic, “Don’t worry, it’s just a fluid known as LCL filling the plug system, he can breathe in it.”On cue, the sounds of Shinji gasping for air can be heard. “Huh…neat,” Sonic says to himself. Ritsuko looks over one of the staff members' shoulders, a lady with short brown hair almost somewhat similar to Shinji.The two seem to be talking about something in awe, the hedgehog best guesses it has something to do with Shinji and the robot. In fact he does remember hearing something about syncing…Misato looks around the control center, everyone else nodding to her. “Alright…begin launch sequence!” She states to the staff.Sonic stands there in boredom as the staff ensures that everything will go smoothly before they send the robot out. A robot being piloted by a child…who has to fight for the sake of humanity.…Okay he’s played along with their games for long enough.Sonic looks over at the systems, seeing a small line glowing green. He ignores the conversation that Misato is having with the commander, just trying to focus on his next move.“…LAUNCH EVA UNIT 01!” And Misato orders were the cue. Not just for the staff but for the hedgehog as well. “Go time.”“Huh-“ Misato looks over to Sonic as he says that, the hedgehog smirking at her. “See you!” Sonic's rigjt hand grabs the cuffs and takes it off before dashing off, the entire staff looking on in shock. Mistao looks down at the handcuff lock seeing a blue quill in it…Sonic had lock picked his way out of it.Now she should be mad, she should order NERV troops to capture the hedgehog. But right now, she was sending a boy to fight. A boy who needed all the help he could get. “…Don’t stop the EVA launch! We can deal with him after the Angel!” Mistao tells the rest of the staff.The Commander simply sighs in annoyance, hoping that the rat doesn’t deal any unnecessary damage to the EVA…—————————————————————Shinji was terrified. This was his first time doing anything like this. In fact the only time he ever fought was when he tried to stand up to a bully a few years back…that did not go well for Shinji.And mixed with the fact that he was now controlling a robot that he had no experience with prior. That’s probably enough to make a normal grown man quit. All they had given him to be prepared was a headset…better than nothing.He was still getting used to the taste and texture of LCL. Ritsuko stated that it was automatically delivering oxygen to his blood stream. Speaking of blood, LCL had the taste of it as well.Shinji had no other choice though. He was currently being launched out of NERV HQ to the surface at a very fast rate. Due to him being distracted he missed the commotion that happened in the control room.However it wouldn’t take long for him to realize what happened.The young boy eventually gains the courage to open his eyes while the EVA is being launched to the surface. Even though I’m here you should still listen to Mistao!” Sonic gives a thumbs up to the robot, the boy still somewhat confused by how the hedgehog is seemingly defying the laws of physics.Sonic looks up seeing the end of the deployment tunnel coming up, the hedgehog speeding up to be the first one out of there. He jumps off the wall as he reaches the edge, zooming through the air before landing onto the pavement. Sonic looks back watching Unit 01 being raised to the surface, the system holding it in place halting to a stop.Large footsteps can be heard as the angel walks past a building, halting to a stop once it is on the street in front of the Evangelion and the hedgehog. Almost all the city lights have been turned off, only bits of red and white filling the area along with the moon shining down.
