Work Text
Assistant Steve was in Professor Red's lab, reorganizing a bookshelf that had somehow gotten knocked over.
He was unsure where exactly the professor was, but that didn’t matter. He was likely just out running errands.
As he moved, his arm spasmed, causing him to drop the book he was holding.
He knew that wasn't good.
It seemed like his wires had gotten tangled… Again…
Usually, he would go to father the professor for help, but he had no idea where the man was.
He let out a quiet, hardly audible sigh and put the book back before standing up and walking towards the door.
He almost felt embarrassed, but he knew who would help him.
…
After about half an hour, he got to his… friend… Planter's shop. It would have been much faster, but his legs kept nearly giving out under him.
It apparently wasn't just the wires in his arms…
He pushed open the door, being quickly greeted by Planter.
“Oh, hello, Assistant,” he greeted cheerfully, “Welcome back!”
Assistant didn't say anything. He limped over to the counter and leaned down against it for support, looking up at the ‘red’ steve with almost sad-looking eyes.
Assistant wasn't particularly expressive, being a robot and all, but Planter had learned to read the artificial steve pretty well by now.
Planter also knew this was the equivalent of Assistant giving him puppy eyes…
Planter frowned faintly, getting worried. Assistant didn't usually act like this…
“Are you alright, Honeybee?” He questioned gently, the concern clear in his soft voice.
Assistant shook his head and muttered, “Need help…”
Planter reached out and gently started stroking Assistant's head, his red fingers untangling the surprisingly soft artificial hair.
“What's wrong, dear?” Planter asked, his worry deepening.
“Wires are tangled,” The robot whined, “It hurts…”
Planter's face began to heat up when Assistant said that. The robot usually hated having his wires touched, since he found it to be extremely overstimulating, so the fact that he seemed to be asking for help untangling them was a sign of extreme trust.
Especially since the robot's wires were basically his nerves…
Planter, knowing he wouldn't be able to speak without stuttering, nodded and very gently led Assistant into the back room of the shop, having him sit down on the ground. He grabbed a small toolbox and sat behind him.
He grabbed a small screwdriver and gently placed his hand on Assistant's upper arm to steady him, before beginning to unscrew the maintenance panel on his back.
Assistant instinctively flinched a little, not used to letting anybody open him up like this except the professor.
It made him feel very vulnerable…
But he knew Planter wouldn't do anything to hurt him, even if he was literally placing his life in his hands right now. He wasn't sure Planter realized just how vulnerable he really was right now.
Planter had access to all of his internal parts like this, and could do whatever he wanted…
But instead of doing anything painful, he, incredibly gently, touched one of the tangled wires with his fingertips, causing Assistant Steve to shudder.
Planter paused, worried he might have hurt Assistant, but then continued after a moment.
Being very careful, clearly worried about injuring or stressing the robot, he began untangling the mess of different colored wires in Assistant's back.
He knew he would have to do this in a few other spots, too, but this one was the easiest to start with.
Assistant let out a soft, somewhat pathetic whine when one of the wires got caught in another.
“Oh, I'm sorry,” Planter murmured, “I didn't mean to hurt you, dear…”
He sounded so genuinely guilty. It broke Assistant's artificial heart to hear Planter sound so sad…
He weakly shook his head and managed to mutter, “It's not your fault…”
Planter sighed softly, not really believing him, but continued anyway. He felt bad for Assistant. He could hardly even imagine how uncomfortable, or even painful, the tangled mess of wires was for him.
Assistant always tried to insist that he couldn't feel pain when Planter fussed over him, but Planter didn't believe him.
When Planter's cold fingertips brushed against one of the circuits behind the wires, Assistant let out a slow, shuddering breath. Planter wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. He had never heard him make that sound before…
He leaned over to look at Assistant's face. The robot's face was mostly expressionless, but his eyes were hooded and he was panting slightly.
Planter decided that was probably a good sign, then.
His hands stilled for a moment as he had an idea. He wasn't sure if Assistant would like it, but…
He began very, very lightly running the very tips of his fingers along the edges of Assistant's circuits.
The robot shuddered and whined again, his hands balling into fists against the ground. Without even thinking, Assistant arched his back, pressing himself further against Planter’s hand.
Planter let out a soft, warm chuckle, finding the reaction to actually be quite cute. He paused for another moment before he leaned down and started kissing the wires as he untangled them.
Assistant whined louder, his legs twitching slightly. He seemed to be really enjoying the gentle touch on his sensitive internal parts…
Planter finished untangling the wires in Assistant's back and pulled the robot onto his lap.
He unscrewed the small screws keeping Assistant's ‘boots’ on, pulling them off and exposing the wires in his legs.
He gently placed one hand on Assistant's hip to stop him from squirming and began carefully untangling the wires inside his legs with the other.
Assistant pressed against his hands, seeking more of his gentle, loving touch. He whimpered and whined and gasped as Planter untangled, and slightly toyed with, his insides.
Planter had never seen him being so expressive. He thought it was adorable.
He moved his hand from Assistant's hip up to his face, gently stroking under his chin, causing the robot to whine louder and press his throat against Planter's palm.
Planter finally finished untangling the wires in his legs. He still had to do the same for Assistant's chest, but decided to have a little more fun first.
He began tracing his fingers along Assistant's circuits again, this time pressing down a little along the edges. Assistant made a cute, needy sound somewhere between a whine and a moan.
Planter took that as a good sign and continued. He leaned in and began softly whispering to Assistant.
“You're so cute, dear…” He cooed, “My precious honeybee…”
Finally, he unscrewed the panel on Assistant's chest, which held most of his important parts. Being extra careful, Planter began untangling them. His fingers brushed over circuits and CPUs and the small, strange parts that Planter wasn't quite sure what they did.
He didn't try to touch the piece of redstone in Assistant's chest, despite it being the only part that was normally exposed. He knew that the robot didn't really like to have his power source touched.
Assistant suddenly grabbed Planter's wrist and moved his hand right onto his redstone battery. Planter was surprised, but began gently stroking it, careful not to press down. Assistant shuttered again, before briefly spasming and going mostly limp in Planter's arms.
At first, Planter was concerned, until he felt how firm the robot's grip still was. So, he was still definitely awake, just much more relaxed now.
Planter wasn't quite sure what just happened, but he assumed it was good.
He finished untangling his wires and began putting the panels back on, but kept the one on Assistant's chest off for now and kept gently stroking and caressing his redstone battery, since he seemed to be enjoying it.
Assistant shifted further back, pressing his back against Planter's chest. He turned and rested his head on his chest, curling up on his lap. Planter began gently rubbing Assistant's hip.
He got the feeling they might be here for a while.
Not that he minded. He actually quite liked cuddling with the robot. He also liked seeing him this relaxed, especially since he was usually so tense and stiff.
Planter gently kissed the top of his head. When Assistant tilted his head up to look at him, Planter started gently kissing all over his face, causing him to whine softly.
Planter smiled. He was glad he was able to help Assistant with this, even if they both got a bit… carried away.
